Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes
I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010. Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past, I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another. This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases. I am proud of that. I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.
Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom, Terri Horman. Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey. Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child. There are dozens of sources, collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.
Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did. I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping. Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode. When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her, I most certainly respected that. I still do.
While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure, I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth. There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions. Not what I signed on for. A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience. He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.
I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil. I appreciate your patience and your understanding. Feel free to discuss the show below.

imo she is as abjectly unqualifed as Baggio is more than qualified. Bet no one dares run against her when the time comes. Interestingly, amongst her credentials cited for the Bench is handling Kyron’s investigation for the DA its first 1.5 years. That’s better than her losing case where jurors found her as having racist behaviors. She was a direct contributor to Kyron’s investigation’s mismanagement for a year and 1/2. If I were a Portland resident I’d be busy in Dem circles recruiting someone to run against her whenever the vote is up (she’s probably been given the apptmt with the longest time to an election), preferably a Jewish male embeded in Temple Beth Israel.

One is very well educated, if young. One is very experienced, altho her State Govt area of expertise (child welfare agency) has had trouble repeatedly of various sorts. Then, one retired as a judge after 22 years, tho one would think judicial retirees would do so after 25 or 30. Opinion: If she sticks to animal rights litigation, she’ll be fine.
She has no background in complex civil or business litigation.
If she starts trying family cases—child protection, divorce & custody, goodness help the families & children before her. The irony will be if Desiree achieves her goal of a Terri arrest, & she’s on the criminal bench. I went to look up Gosson’s 2010 Kyron case mgmt dates.
At least as of Aug 3 2010, he remained Lead Detective.
Much has been made of Bob O’Donnell, but Gosson was
lead detective iirc in his role on E Cty Majr Crimes team.
Andhe’s been back as lead detective under Reese. He is no
doubt he is eager to complete his 2010 job & arrest Terri,
I bet he suggested the Q& A strategy to Desiree. At least it would
be in character.
I have never interviewed Gosson- you can imagine not even task force members from other jurisdictions are willing to speak on the record on an active case. Nothing would surprise me at this point, least of all a returnee from the woodshed thinking differently as a result.

Gosson’s apparent lead Det successor was Krafve, at least he was in charge in May 2011 onthe Task Force, which iirc began the preceding Oct. So it was Gosson whom that Fall Staton had thought was stuck.

those Calif stings which Desiree was so into—the gun anyway—occurred after Gosson was back at Lead Det in Charge, & he apparently briefed Desiree about the gun jury problem. Lol at the jury was confused in the CA case. Was she there? Um, no. They returned an acquittal in under 13 minutes with first vote unanimous to acquit and waited for one juror to use the restroom and another to finish their coffee or it would have been 4 minutes. The Judge in that case said on the record to the prosecutor it was his belief she was being prosecuted because of her “name” and in his experience he had seen similar cases backfire. ADA denied this and the rest is history. Oh, and don’t forget Iboshi interviewed her attorney at length after the verdict and it never aired. Again.

Blink I feel in the strongest terms that DY is getting her info on the Calif trial, the searches, & the “imminent arrest” as soon as K is found, & that TH is the ONLY suspect direct from mcso Sht Gosson or his supervisee with his clearance
For starters, her information is inaccurate- in some aspects, grossly. If she truly had an “agent” within MCSO that would not be the case. One of the most difficult aspects of this case is that I TRULY understand the emotional and psychological reasons for a parent of a missing child to want to keep their childs disappearance in the public eye- “on their terms”. It cannot even be argued that one thing this case is chock full of is attempts by BOTH parents and the DA to control the narrative.
It looks like Spicher continues to be ommitted from her “dialogue”- as far as I know, this is the strongest reason everyone should be suspect (at best) that ANY member of LE is having any conversations with DY that include investigative information that is case sensitive. Why you ask? Because I have personally reviewed documentation of the legal variety that expressly states that MCSO is not giving her info she says they are- and that if she publicly states otherwise she will be in legal “do do” on her own. This again, a kind description.
I mean- just ask oneself- does it make sense that she is saying that LE is sharing information with her when she quite literally said that she was withdrawing her civil suit because they categorically refused to? MCSO has flatly refused comment “we cannot comment on ongoing and active cases” to any inquiry they received pursuant to her participation in any upcoming “shows” or publications of any kind and now that we are two dismissed grand juries without an indictment (so first unequivocally had to dismiss on a no true bill) she is choosing that hatercrater site amidst intermittent bans or whatever goes on there because no legitimate news outlet will quote her when they know from their own sources it is simply false. That is all this is. Nothing new certainly- that site is filled with nearly 9 year old links. I am in no way making excuses for the behavior by saying even though it is false that I understand her need for it. So as not to revisit custody w/Mother due yo a significant change in circumstances (both remarried), Kaine MUST maintain the 2010-13 case investigation posture, TH is THE focus of the investigation. I submit it is possible to way underestimate individual mcso enforcement/investigations (or formerly so) employees’ incompetence & ditto for Medford PD as press has stated in theDennis Day case.
How could argue I against your valid point? I can’t as I have probably been guilty of it many times over (underestimating valid incompetence, misconduct) in some cases it took years, but it definitely has been validated several times on this very site. This is what I think about the MFH(s)
LE knows that even if they were able to indict Teri for MFH on Kaine that they could never prove it in court. The case would either be dismissed or Teri would be found innocent due to a lack of evidence. This means that if they were ever able to bring a charge against Teri in Kyron’s disappearance. They could not point to what a bad person Teri was because of a potential accusation of MFH. She would have already been cleared/acquitted of the MFH charge.
Kaine’s restraining/protection order and ability to keep Teri’s daughter away form her may depend on the MFH accusation. So he needs her to never be cleared/acquitted of this accusation.
The 30 year old MFH is ridiculous and probably could no be brought up in any legal proceeding.
I don’t believe that Teri will ever be charged with any MFH

I think a lot of what DY says about evidence LE has , searches etc is just things that she thinks will scare Teri into doing something rash and incriminating herself or maybe just make her nervous.
All the stuff about “stay tuned, something big is coming” (which was last June 2018). Something explosive is going to happen, multiple searches already done in 2019 and more planned. Lots of tips coming in (the tips don’t seem to be of much help in the last 9 years). I think DY believes that saying this stuff will scare TH and make her life miserable.

Probably if they found Kyron tomorrow unless he was alive and could tell what happened and he incriminated Teri, LE still would not have enough evidence to successfully convict Teri of anything in Kyron’s disappearance.
Maybe DY plans to try for another civil suit. I read somewhere that because DY abandoned her civil suit in 2013 that she cannot file another civil suit unless Kyron is found.
Even though DY/LE will probably never has enough evidence to indict and convict Teri of harming Kyron. If Kyron is found deceased DY could file a wrongful death civil suit. If DY prevailed in her civil suit maybe she could get The Grand Jury to indict.
Teri needs to avoid any kind of entanglements with the law because civil suits have a lower bar as far as evidence is concerned. Teri should also stay away from all communication with any of the people involved in harassing her. These people are just trying to bait her and get her to do or say things anything that could be used in a civil suit.

What is interesting to me, is WHY the original LEOs did not take this dude seriously to begin with some 40 years prior???
If I think about Kyron’s case, in light of this creepy dude’s warping of his knowledge of the Lyons sisters murders, it makes me think of a strange dude, who was never taken seriously, but continued to insist he knew what happened to Kyron via his cousin’s hands. I wonder if LE has ever even bothered to look at DS’ cousin, and wonder why he insisted on inserting himself in the case? Hmmmmm?
