Morgan Harrington Case: Plea to Possible Witness From VSP

Posted by BOC Staff | Alex Harrington,Dan Harrington,Gil Harrington,Missing Persons,Morgan Harrington | Monday 25 January 2010 11:49 am

Charlottesville, VA– Early this morning, a flurry of activity surrounded what unfortunately amounted to a misquote on behalf of an article appearing in the Cavalier Daily:

Swarovski knecklace

Though investigators have confirmed that Harrington was last seen hitchhiking at 9:30 that night, they do not have sufficient evidence to prove or disprove that she fell victim to foul play, Geller said. In addition, police were able to retrieve Harrington’s purse and necklace but have not yet located a red digital camera that they believe was in her possession at the time of her disappearance.

Blink on crime has been able to confirm directly with Connie Geller, Public Relations Manager for the Virginia State Police: Morgan Harrington’s necklace has not been recovered, nor has Ms. Geller ever made such a statement regarding same.

However, there is recent developments that seem to infer that Ms. Harrington’s credit or debit card may have been used following her disappearance from the John Paul Jones Arena the evening of October 17, 2009.

“We’d hate to have anyone who just picked her up and dropped her at a gas station [to be reluctant to talk to us] because that person holds a very vital key to finding more information,” Geller said. “Investigators are willing to work with that person because right now the focus is on finding Morgan and bringing her back to her family.”

Even persons who have not seen Harrington since her disappearance can still be of assistance to the investigation, Geller said. For example, if anyone has noticed someone else acting strangely since around the time of the disappearance, he or she is encouraged to report the information.

Both Ms. Geller and Dr. Harrington have declined to answer the question as to whether or not Morgan’s card was used citing “investigative purposes.”

The last verified comments regarding a possible Morgan sighting and a gas station center around an account of a woman claiming to have seen her outside at a Sheetz station in Orange, VA the following morning of October 18th. Ms. Geller stated the VSP could not “disprove” this sighting, although their is no surveillance footage on the store security camera.

Over the last week, the legal wranglings, sentencing hypotheticals and LexisNexis databases where burning up the skype accounts of all the legal analysts in Or Lawn Do. I experienced it first-hand as I was in town last week:It was palpable.

According to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, the plea negotiations between the State and Jose Baez, defense counsel for Casey Anthony in this matter, broke down over the amount of felonies she would agree to plead to, and the matter of adjudication.  WFTV analyst Bill Schaeffer does a nice job discussing the importance from a legal perspective, here.

The afternoon face off between Linda Drane Burdick, Jeff Ashton and the defense team for Casey Anthony is expected to seek Judge Stan Strickland’s ruling on her sentencing and the issue of withholding adjudication which is the anticipated position of her defense.

Simply stated, there is no basis given the known facts of the case to argue that Casey’s actions constituted a necessity, agreement from the wronged party or victim, or any as yet unknown to us allegations such as needing cash for the nanny or kidnapping ransom.

While the defense does have a strong argument to be made that Ms. Anthony is a first time offender and Judge Strickland has already indicated that he will treat her accordingly, I have a suggestion for the State.

I submit aquiring tacky white sunglasses through fraudulent, felonies means, using said stolen property to perpetuate further fraudulent activity, followed by wearing them to your attorney’s office after you have been arrested for same, constitutes a spree.  Adjudicate at will.

Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: State Expert Witness 3 View Search Services Heading To Haiti

Posted by BOC Staff | Casey Anthony,Caylee Anthony Case,Tot Mom | Saturday 23 January 2010 11:45 pm

3View Search Services Foundation has announced a strategic partnership with  World Peace One and Arts For Humanity Global at the 2010 Sun Dance Film Festival to aid humanitarian relief and search and recovery efforts in Haiti.

The breakthrough technology in aerial imaging developed by 3View founder Sean Henaday is critical for both human recovery and rebuilding initiatives in the devestated region.

Sean Henady, President and founder of 3View Search Services and co-founder and Vice President Mandy Albritton will be keynote speakers this evening at the Sun Dance Film Festival.

By invitation, they will also be meeting with ancillary organizations to create further alliances that will progress search efforts in Haiti.

These partnerships are structured to facilitate prompt responses for future humanitarian search efforts globally as well; when ever and where ever such services are needed.

3View Search Services is a non-profit 501C3 organization that offers industry-leading, remote aerial monitoring and surveying for the commercial, industrial and agricultural industries.

The tools and processes developed will provide a significant advantage to Law Enforcement in their recovery efforts with missing persons cases.

Most recently, 3View was tapped for aerial imagery analysis to locate Caylee Marie Anthony, missing 34 month old Orlando toddler. Sean Henady has been named as a witness for the State in the prosecution of her mother, Casey Anthony, for her murder.

The core units of 3VSS develop and deploy radio-controlled mini-helicopters and drones that carry a variety of sensors and high resolution imagery equipment.

These UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) feature onboard computers complete with stabilization and realtime image monitoring.

As stated by Sean Henady, President of 3View Search Services:

”With the remote-controlled equipment, you can cover so much territory in a little time and at a fraction of the cost of using a full-size plane or helicopter.

And it’s not like we’re just flying over an area, hoping to see something.

We’re capturing high-quality images that we can review from the ground and then study more in-depth later.”

The strategic alliances with such groups like World Peace One, Art for Humanity and others will greatly advance the response capabilities and expand the scope of searches for missing persons both domestically and internationally.

3View expects to deploy it’s assets to the Haitian relief and recovery efforts within the next week.
