SANDRA CANTU CASE: FBI INVESTIGATING HUCKABY’S GRANDPA LAWLESS

Tracy, Ca– Announced on Kcra this evening, the FBI was in Clarkston, WA at the First Church of God Church and spoke with it’s pastor, Bill Creutzberg:
..” They were trying to put the pieces of their puzzle together, They were asking about certain people who might be able to lead them to other people. But I do not know exactly what they are looking for..”
A source inside the investigation has confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that they are investigating previous alleged abuse allegations within the church against Clifford Lane Lawless, Huckaby’s grandfather.
In a simultaneous development, although Pastor Lawless was seen on camera last evening at the church following an announcement that services would remain there, FBI agents were back at the Clover Baptist Church. Police have indicated they believe Sandra Cantu, 8, was murdered there.
As their is a gag order in the case, attempts to confirm that a search warrant was issued at either location were refused.
Agents were seen entering the church for approximately 20 minutes, and left with a few “tubes” in their posession. There are unverified reports that the tubes taken into evidence are projection screens. However, Blink on crime has learned that one of the items is a screen, and the others are blinds. The same source, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that Tracy Police and the FBI are in posession of video evidence containing footage of blinds; thus the seizure. The agents were seen removing the evidence without a CSI team which may indicate they do not suspect there is physical evidence to link them to Sandra’s murder.
Melissa Huckaby is due in court tomorrow to face charges of kidnapping, rape with a foreign object, child molestation and murder charges in the death of 8 year old Sandra Cantu. Her arraingment is scheduled for 1PM PST.

I hope every slime ball involved in this case is uncovered..be it connected directly or indirectly. Somehow, I have always sensed there is waaay more to this than meets the eye. Blink – I do believe many of these victims watch you from above and give special thanks to you for trudging through the muck to help seek justice for them. I would trust you even if you said you had a big enough suitcase to put every single last one of them in!!!! Carry on soldier!
Looked like projection screens to me even before I read of the “unverified reports” of them possibly being so….used to use them in presentations. Have my vote on that one, however, we know what that means. One can only pray that the Cantu family is steering clear from this information.

Yes, Blink… that’s what I was thinking because Canada’s first ‘international sex tourist’ convicted, was found by exactly that type of evidence from tapes in Cambodia or Thailand. There were two investigators who were going over videos found with a woman who was being attacked in a park, violently attacked. The perp kept videos, the woman was heard by a park worker who called 911. He had attacked others. But in the videos, were children in a SE Asian country, clues from the language and dialect of the children gave an idea of location, but where to start looking would have been all but impossible. Then, on a US tv documentary about the young children in one center, being kept in horrible brothels as slaves, was seen by one of the Canadian investigators while home in the evening, who then called his collegue to turn the tv on. What they saw was the EXACT room, down to the smudge marks on the wall, of where this perp had visited to abuse children. The posters on the wall fit, the marks on the door, the ‘decor’ was a clear match and they had their perp and now they had where the crimes were committed.
Isn’t this how a young girl from Toronto, taken and abused in ‘slavery’ was finally identified from child porn. The decor, the room, the materials, fabrics…
Blink… That small mention of possible video evidence makes my heart ache. As much as I want to know what happened to poor little Sandra, I’m almost afraid to find out……..
It scared me to the core. I dont want to believe this happens in an organized way, or, in any way.
It reminds me of when I was young and snuck watching Rosemary’s Baby. I was hideously afraid through the entire movie, but I knew there was a reason I needed to watch it, whatever that turned out to be.

Is this then confirmation that there was incriminating video from the church? Why else would they tag a projection screen? The blinds are more than I was to think about.
I know they took computer(s) from the trailer. Were any confiscated from the church? If not confiscated immediately then I am sure any “bad” videos were deleted. It would take the computer forensic specialist a while to recover them. As he/she recovers videos, other members of LE may watch them and recognize background items. The time frame seems pretty good for this scenario. Possibly the WA church was seen in a video.
Church lock-ins with sleepovers and spiked punch. They could have had their pick of the group to video. This is beginning to get nauseating. Somewhere there may be videos of MH. There were good super 8 video cameras available when she was 8 y.o. Also VHS and I think Beta tape was available then. All transferable to digital.

No matter how you slice it, The FBI does NOT investigate a rape/murder in another state, without proof state lines were crossed. IMO, FBI is lead now, on another matter, only peripherally tied to Sunny Sandra. The FBI does not knock on doors and “check things out”, ever.

Not having followed the whole Wenatchee thing, would someone care to explain what all the hype is about? Pastor was there in 1960. Left when? Allegations of sex ring 35 years later is tied in how? Didn’t someone previously say 1995 Wenatchee allegations were dismissed?
Yes, I obviously understand it could have been going on for years, but were there more than “allegations”?
I guess I look at it similar to allegations against priests. Typically someone finally has courage to come forward and identifies the abuser, abuser denies and THEN a whole bunch of people from the past come forward to support original person and its the support of all the other stories that ultimately proves it really did occur.
So if this was all coming to light in 1995 and assuming hypothetically people had been abused for 35 years, it seems some of these people would have came forward then….
Hey Coolio, It may not be tied in at all. But for some reason the FBI showed up two states away at an insignificant little church that the grandpa of the perp was associated with. They have not confirmed why yet so imaginations are running a bit. I may have to go take some Pepto Dismal and stop thinking about it.
Also, it is possible that any victims may not be aware that it happened. Drugging an eight year old enough to hospitalize them sure kills their memory.(I guess)
Why do you think she tried so hard to clear grandpa before his name ever came up? Protecting Don Vito Lawless? The Godfather of child porn? I am hoping none of this shyte is true. There has been so much speculation that not only was there more to this but that someone else is involved. And as you said Blink, the sgt, chose his words carefully when he said that no one else was suspect “in this particular case”. Meaning there may be connections to MH and what she was doing in other types of cases WITH other people.
If someone else was involved, ie a ring or family etc. Why wouldn’t MH speak up? One day I determined the ONLY persons I would risk going to the death chair for would be my children. As in, I have been told “If I tell, we/I will kill your daughter” or “You will do commit these heinous acts or we will get your daughter”. I imagine she’s been threatened to do as they say and if she ever gets caught there’s enough people that will hurt her kid.
Anyway, good job Blink. I agree, you are totally like the person watching the horror film screaming not to go in the basement.
Great job and thank you Blink. MH with her confused and frightened demeanor really does look like a child victim turned adult perpetrator. When people use the cover of a church to commit horrendous crimes, maybe it should be considered an aggravating factor? It does look like LE refused to consider the idea that MH would abduct and drug a child. The church connection: extra disgusting.

I hope MH’s daughter has not been subjected to these terrible things that are being discussed here about the “sex ring”. My fear is that she probably has been though. I hope MH daughter is with someone safe now. I am not sure who that would be. I read somewhere else that all of Lawless’s 3 Children (Brian, Brett & Joni) are involved in God’s work.

If what comes out is what we are all speculating here, I really think you should be very proud that you were on this trail first. You said it before anyone else suspected. I know it is sick and it is really horrific to think that Sandra ended up being some kind of sacrifice to save other children, but if this didn’t happen to Sandra, we may never know how many other children are possibly involved. I hope that all of these children remember NOTHING!! That would be a blessing in disguise that they wouldn’t have to relive all of the violence and abuse.

from what I read and understand, Grandpa was not “allowed” to visit MH in prison..only her Father and Grandmother?
I have always felt from the get go that what MH did to Sandra, is what has also been done to her?? She was indentifying with her aggressor, and making sense of it by becoming the agressor herself.

Sadly, this doesn’t surprise me at all. While I think that crimes like the one MH committed can happen independent of abuse, I think that most of the time crimes like this happen as a result. I still wonder if MH was threatened in some way (with regard to her daughter), and she acquired, for lack of a better word, SC for someone else. I tend to think the murder was an accident (drugging), but I’ve always thought there was someone else involved. Ultimately, the burden of responsibility for this crime will fall mostly on MH, but I think others are complicit as well.
And, I agree that if this was a straightforward rape/murder, even of a child, the FBI wouldn’t be involved. That they are involved speaks to the enormity of what, in all likelihood, led to MH committing this crime.
Huckaby’s daughter was out of town at the time of Sandra’s kidnapping…so in light of the other incident thats come out involving Huckaby and another girl in January, I think its very likely Huckaby drugged a drink she gave Sandra in order to molest her w/o Sandra remembering it, but must have given her too much and Sandra died, much to her surprise. Huckaby used to work in the medical field so she probably felt knowledgeable/comfortable using the benzo for her purposes. So Huckaby did murder Sandra freaked out and stuffed her in a suitcase and threw her in a pit of manuer so nobody could smell the corpse but all that was probably not premeditated – thats why she is crying ion court and tried to kill herself.
She could live with herself as a molester, but not as a child killer.

This scenario would explain some curious aspects of the story:
1) MH daughter’s “pre-planned” stay out of town with MH’s mother (has mother appeared yet in Tracy?)
2) Pastor Lawless slinky behavior in background of the taped interview of MH’s father outside of jail
3) MH’s demeanor at hearing — to me she seems to be saying with her body – “she wasn’t supposed to die… it wasn’t supposed to hurt…” — I could almost imagine someone else telling her she was to blame for botching up what was supposed to be a routine drugging/porn activity. JMO. My impressions only.
It is time to put faces/identities on children who are exploited by adults.

One of my first posts on here was that I felt confident the reason MH would have assaulted little Sandra at the church would be because she somehow was violated in a church. Seems I may have been right, and sadly so.
Whether or not Grandpa Lawless was currently involved in porn or not, my guess is somehow MH was abused either by her grandfather, or others in the church from way back when and he knows it! Seems grandma is in her own little world and either truly knows nothing….or like the Anthonys are putting themself in complete denial.

The harsh reality is if kids are sexually abused it WILL come back and affect them later in life regardless of whether they remember.
But, is not remembering really better? Either scenario is hard.
With regard to sex abuse in general, is it better to remember so you might understand why you are the way you are and by knowing, you understand it and yourself better and can hopefully move beyond it? Statute of limitations will most likely prevent charges against your abuser, but if you remember you can then make others aware, protect yourself and your children and other children.
Or, is it better not to remember but constantly question yourself why do I/did I do these things and eventually realizing something “must have” been done to you, but not knowing who or what…. And wondering if you are exposing your children to the perp (as often it is family) or if other children are at risk or possibly being abused…??
With regard to this case, if they don’t have video or other image evidence to prove up abuse or someone breaking down and telling all, it is kids remembering what was done to them that will eventually stop the abuse and break up this ring.
So very sad…

This all may be unrelated and purely coincidence.
Here I come with my armchair detective ideas:
They may have taken the blinds and projector screen because they found video evidence (not necessarily Sandra) where blinds and maybe even the screen itself could be seen captured in the frames during filming of whatever.
We hear many stories of babies getting tangled in the cords on blinds…if Sandra was strangled, they could be looking for a match against marks on her neck (sorry, I know that’s a remote possibility.
Also, possible Sandra was forced to watch porn…happens often to children of sexual assaults…perp watches this stuff with the kids before or while abusing them. Not sure how that relates to why it would be taken, but there are so many reasons they may have taken those items.
I am still wondering if what MH was doing in Jan was a dry-run of sorts. No one I read answered on another thread in here. What do you think? Did MH target the other little girl for reasons we’ve already discussed….because the mother would be less believable to LE due to her already having a child taken away? Was she truly planning to rape and/or kill the other child and Sandra was the 2nd choice?

If Grandpa Lawless is involved may he be brought to justice. I am, however, having a hard time believing that this tragic murder was the work of an organized, experienced person(s). Instead this crime was committed by an amateur; a blossoming sociopath, if you will.
If Lawless or others in an organized ring were involved, I believe several things would not have occurred: Dumping the body so close to the crime and with a personal possession (luggage); choosing a victim so closely tied to MH and the Lawless’s; speaking to the press about material evidence; letting Police question you without a Lawyer, etc. Also, the theory that Lawless et al, would allow MH to “harvest” victims on behalf of their alleged “child porn ring” seems highly improbable; MH is clearly a loose cannon.
No, Sandra’s murder was not the work of an intelligent, organized person or persons. This was a crime of opportunity committed by a person barely in control of her own psychosis. The January incident, the thefts, the arson’s, the suicide attempt(s) and possible false rape allegations were all just building blocks which lead up to the Cantu crimes MH committed.
Instead I beleive the Lawless’s turned a blind eye to the warning signs re MH, and there actions in circling the wagons around MH after her arrest are despicable, IMHO.
Yes, Coolio, sadly you are probably right. Maybe this will be the last case we hear of our children being hurt. I know this is not going to be the last, just a hope for the future that some day our children are protected from evil and taught to be good people. I hope that Caylee and Sandra and Haleigh all get the justice they deserve so that they didn’t die or suffer in vain and so that the animals that do this to children or anyone learn that we as a society will not tolerate it!

I don’t think that planned to kill Sandra Cantu. Much like the other girl rumored to have been drugged, I think they planned to drug her and commit whatever horrible act, and then return her to her home. I do actually believe that SC’s death was accidental. I think that’s why the cover-up of the murder was so sloppily done — these people have experience with child rape/molestation, but not murder, and when SC died, I think everyone panicked.
Pastor Robertson regularly brings troubled young men from the Juvenile Probation Department to the cemetery to perform “community service” cleanup efforts. When the Pastor was made aware that Warrior men wanted to help restore the cemetery he was delighted to have the help, but was even more delighted to have mature men available to work side by side with “the kids.” The pastor knows from experience that a young person’s life can be impacted, in powerful ways, by just being around mature men.

I immediately suspected the Pastor when during the initial interview in which MH so incriminated herself she stated that “The suitcase is mine….not my Grandad’s”. I also thought he acted really creepy when he and his wife were interviewed in their car and Grandma gave her chirpy little statement about the “sweet little thing being abused and killed” ….he looked so strange in the passenger’s seat,giving only a one word answer of “NO” to the reporters question. I live just a few blocks from the house she lived in where the suspicious fires occured and about a half mile from her parents home in Southern California . Disgusting family hiding behind toxic fundimental religion.
