Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Baez Bungles Bar Admission Round 1
Orlando, FL– In the latest of what seems to be a mounting stockpile of concerns regarding tot mom defense attorney Jose Baez and a member of the defense team, Todd Macaluso, The Orlando Sentinel released the latest bombshell: The Florida Bar DENIED BAEZ ADMISSION the first time around.
Jose Angel Baez, currently under investigation by the Florida Bar Association (FBA) in a minimum of 3 separate inquiries was denied admission to the Florida Bar following his initial application in 1999. This information is in stark contrast with an interview given by Baez below where he states (paraphrase) he made a monetary and travel decision to wait 8 years for FBA membership.
Baez appealed the decision of the FBA to the Florida Supreme Court, which governs the Florida Bar. In their decision, they agreed with the FBA, issuing an order in 2000 that cataloged unpaid bills, extravagant spending and other “financial irresponsibility” up to that time. Justices reserved their strongest condemnation for his failure to stay current on support payments for his only child.
His overall behavior, they wrote, showed “a total lack of respect for the rights of others and a total lack of respect for the legal system, which is absolutely inconsistent with the character and fitness qualities required of those seeking to be afforded the highest position of trust and confidence recognized by our system of law.”
The Supreme Court order refers to Jose Baez only by his initials, J.A.B as is procedure. The initial findings of the FBA whereby Baez is denied admission are private and not subject to public information requests. In a prepared statement to the Sentinel, Baez spokes woman reminded them that Jose Baez is a member in good standing with the FBA:
“Based on your questions and actions,” she wrote, “this profile you are writing has nothing to do with Jose Baez’s representation of Casey Anthony and appears to be a sensationalist persecution of a Hispanic lawyer who has been targeted by a newspaper lucky to find itself at the center of a national story.”
O NO SHE DI’ INT….
Yes, she did, she played the race card. What does this man’s DNA have to do with how many pancakes it takes to shingle a dog house?
Perhaps she does not realize that GilTod, Gil Cabot aka Tod Black, the un-hired, un-approved, un-seen former spokesperson for Baez is listed to be of Hispanic descent in his arrest records. Or, perhaps she might note that Baez client Casey Anthony is fighting a civil defamation suit and counter-suing Zenaida Gonzalez, a woman maligned by her and her family for nearly a year, is of Hispanic descent. Cindy Anthony stated in her “12 rounds with Morgan” deposition two weeks ago that PI Dominic Casey is still watching someone in Puerto Rico.
It would seem the writing on the wall as to Baez track for this case is no longer written in invisible ink.

I still don’t see ANY way that trying to blame someone else for the crime is going to work. Perhaps someone else may have helped her hide the body, but there’s no way that Casey can be found innocent. She can’t explain any sort of timeline and even say where Caylee was at any time around the time that she was murdered. It’d be a lot different of a story if she actually made a credible statement during all of this, but she hasn’t.
Could anyone explain why Baez is still the lead attorney in this death penalty case? I thought he wasn’t qualified.
Correct, he is not, and he will need to be 2nd chair to a DP “qualified” attorney. Lenemon is in the running, but I hear Baez is holding hands elsewhere.

Notice too, that Baez blames the state for not asking him the question and instead, filing a motion to ask the judge to question the defense about qualifications? Why? It’s giving him what he hates most– media attention!! And he is forced to wait to introduce the new addition to the team, until cameras are again, ready— set– ACTION– in the next hearing with Casey drawing viewers in, she can ‘meet’ the new person too, chance for a ‘still’ photo with her smiling and doing the handshake thing, as she did with Macaluso and K-B. Same scenario– set up for the cameras, if not, why wait to do your professional job and declare to the state who is defending Ms. Anthony when that is known. It’s all about performance for cameras, not about being a professional.
OK– how about BOYCOTT LARRY KING NEXT WEDS NIGHT–Tot gramma and grampa will be on with Brad and their church singer may do a song about Caylee.

Ok, back to the issues of Baez and his circus, and this seems to have taken a very serious turn with the recent depositions conducted by Baez while he awaits the primier tv spot at the end of this month, to highlight his new DP qualified, prominent attorney in another media ‘event’. No doubt, the lawyer is coming ‘to town’ and maybe he’s from the proposed new venue for the trial and that is why Baez said he wanted his suggestions of location for change of venue, to be ‘secret and sealed’. It would make sense to have the DP qualified attorney near his home, for control of costs, if nothing else.
Here is a quote from WESH’s interview with Richard Hornsby, defense attny:
“According to defense lawyer Richard Hornsby, during recent depositions of key witnesses in the case, Baez had no death qualified attorney asking the questions and that is a mistake.
“If you don’t have a death penalty certified attorney conducting those depositions it usually affects the quality of those depositions and under Florida law you can’t do a second deposition of a witness,” Hornsby said.
Baez is asking the judge to strike the state’s motion for a hearing on the issue.
Judge Stan Strickland has not yet issued a ruling or hearing date.”
So, Baez is still running a show which he is not qualified to ‘run’ and this could be an out for CMA as inadequate representation while Baez waits for his next camera/promotion of his team? That’s why Baez is here, not to put Casey Anthony’s defense first, if what Hornsby says is true, this is very serious for the defendant.

You can bet that there will be a barage of media interviews just like there were for Macaluso when he came on the scene (even before he was approved by Florida). The media IS the message… it’s all about the media spotlight and you can bet that choice of DP qualified attorney will be one we recognize from the network shows. It’s all prime time stuff!
The Bar complaints from Judge S and Dom Casey were made public on April 9, so doesn’t that put the 30 day window for resolution up this week? Could things be so bad that Baez will end up being thrown off the case for other than qualification questions?? How much of a problem is an ethics violation for an attorney? Could Baez’s law license be put in limbo for investigation of a serious complaint, so that Casey would have to find another clown? And on a lighter note: will George and CIndy show up angry or drugged for Larry King? Strange that they are too upset to answer questions for John Morgan, but can hold back their sobs and tears for Larry King…

good reminder, IVORIE… I posted that on the ‘other’ Blink article… and yes, shocking about Michelle Bart. I was wrong in thinking this relationship of the Anthony’s with the media is ‘love-hate’– it’s ‘LOVE’ in capitol letters, the ‘hate’ thing is just a ratings catcher.
I think the courtroom of Judge Strickland should be fitted with ceiling-to-floor velveteen curtains behind which, the new defense team can enter without view of the judge, cameras, reporters, court reporter or prosecution. A drumroll would be appropriate, and the scene set for the big REVEAL. Macaluso will be at one side, Linda KB, the other, with Baez front and center to reveal the hidden DP qualified lawyer as he joins him at the defense table.

“On Wednesday he’ll talk under-oath to another deputy, a DCF worker who investigated a previous child abuse case against Casey”
And have animal control, ASPCA or other human societies, animal welfare groups, have any indication of animal abuse pattern problems, say in the area of the Anthony area of town, schools etc, over the period of teen-age years for Casey?? Any reports of animal abuse directed at anyone in or around the Anthony home? (that’s a pre-cursor to violence on people with sociopaths etc)
I’ll be honest Kleat, I knew there was a file already open when Caylee went missing, but they are sealed, no public or media access so that’s as much as I know from a source. I am sincerely hoping it is true so I can use it to legislate changes in the GAL program in Fla.

I can see in this case at least, the case being protected and certainly the investigators and especially the person who notified DCF, as this role of being an advocate begins with the person who has reason to suspect something is wrong, be it a neighbour, close friend of the family, they need to be protected from identity in THIS case for sure! Or no one would want to become involved should the abuse escalate.
On another note– it seems that Baez is doing just what your article above claims and he’s doing it to his own client and the justice system– thumbing his nose at everyone for his own glorification in his moment in ‘the sun’. This statement from your article is exactly what the guy is doing as he flaunts his power to do depos without a DP qualified attorney keeping an ear and eye out for pitfalls– “a total lack of respect for the rights of others and a total lack of respect for the legal system,” your article said.

I thought that the only DCF abuse investigation occurred following the disappearance of Caylee. Are you now saying that there was one or more prior?
I am saying early on I had confirmation from a source that a file had been opened at DCF prior to Caylee’s disappearance. Those files are sacrisaint. That’s all I know.

Blink, I hesitate to give the source of that rowboat cartoon– not because I want to protect that site, but because I don’t know how credible it’s info is as per reporting, however, it would be fair to point you over to the rowboat cartoon so you and readers could enjoy. The info on the emails was from a user comment, but they do publish Cindy’s email with the D&A server address.
WARNING: No claims of credibility here for the following link on CayleeDaily (’cause I don’t know the site and they have this story on Mr. Millstead lining up a personal injury claim from something rediculous he did, but they list the guy as the Millstead of Anthony/Kidfinder’s fame yet call him ‘David Millstead’ rather than ‘Dennis Millstead”. Maybe he uses two names or this might be a mistake or a different person? Nice personal injury if he can get it!! (no average intelligent adult with a lick of common sense would check on what some ‘white powder’ is by sticking his finger first in it, then in his mouth!!)

‘IF’ Cindy is posting comments on the site, there is an excellent response to Cindy’s rant against someone about their foundation’s rescue boat– on the ‘Cindy Anthony e-mails’ page, where Cindy rants against one comment by Ken, a retired fire-fighter and SAR person. Scrolling back in the emails, to May 11 at 7:09 pm, is Ken’s rebuttal to Cindy’s rant against his comments– worth a read from a Search and Rescue, retired Fire-fighter’s perspective about the ‘boat’ and Cindy’s ideas how the boat can save missing children in water!!

No, I think he is sealing her fate down the “green mile”. When the entire legal community can agree on one thing, when their always looking to have a different opinion from a colleague, I think if he makes it through his FBA issues the judge will deny his objection motion and thump him one. We just found out he was denied bar access when he was working with the DA for 3 years and claims to have “won all those case” Hello.. that would be practicing law without a license. Casey Anthony will never see the outside of a prison, imo, and get your popcorn because can you imagine Cindy in that scenario? It makes me sick the mockery they have made of this babies tragic death.

Thanks, Blink– figured it was more of an ‘entertainment’ site. Maybe the David Millstead can go after them for defamation– can we see another client of John Morgan coming into play??? (and I completely support ZG and her lawyers– not trying to minimize this case at all).

They actually got calls yesturday as your affiliate in West Palm Beach was at their “headquarters” IE: Their home…..
They were very upset that the location of the home was found at visited.
The person they found there was Dennis & Sherri’s daughter Carrie.

There are 3 familiy memebers in that area also you NEED to investigate and talk to.
2 brothers of Dennis:
1. Avery Milstead – He is the financial one of the family. Very creative in financing. Has a daughter – Mandy. Made a habit of running all of his investments and schemes trough her name for credit, until her credit was so bad that she now works for him in his company as she has no other ability or credit to do for herself.
2. David Milstead – He is what might be called the muscle of the family. He has to what I understand to have multilple arrests and / or charges for physical altercations. Everytime Dennis does not get what he wants, threats would be made of people, and David would be involved. He is a very big man, and has deep issues with anger.
3. Amy – Not sure if she still has the last name Milstead. But she is a CSI for Palm Beach County. She is one of the few that “got out ” of the family, so to speak. She is not well accepted by the family, and has not run with their thoughts and ways of doing things.
** there are several up here in this area that are woried or scared that Dennis will employ David to help make sure the reporting to you and Chanel 9 stops.

LAST WEEK KID FINDERS GOT ON THE TELEVISION DURING AND AFTER THEIR MEET AND GREET WITH THE ANTHONYS AT THE COMMAND CENTER SAYING THAT THEY NEEDED DONATIONS AND WERE BROKE..

It is not known whether he has any knowledge of the background of Kid Finders.
This home in West Palm Beach is owned by a private investor due to the bad credit of the Milstead familiy. They were supposed to pay off the investor this past summer, but have not given him the $5000 payment that was due in July / August.
That is why they have hooked onto the Anthony Family, as they have seen them as a way to secure funds to get a new home and let the property go to the investor.
They placed the West Palm Beach home in trust with their children names on the house to protect themselves, but also make it easy to walk away and hurt noone but the children.
** Also – The one police report on Dennis Milstead for assault is said to involve the person whose property back up against theirs, as they have had a long standing feud with the Milsteads. This person ( sorry I do not have the name ) has long not agreed with the way the familiy has done things, as well as the things that go on at their home and property.
2006 TAXES -
The money that is shown as start-up money is far below what was actually give to them to start this ” Non Profit “. That money total is ALOT more then that.
They have not produced the taxes for 2007, and to this point have no intentions of doing so until next year, when the new taxes are due. This in part is because money that has come in this year has not all been from “reportable sources”.
There is another company they have owned that is said to be how they are going to funel in donation totals for the taxes. It is called The Sign Shack. They transfered wonership of this company to another person, so it will not show in 2008 records as being affiliated with them, but allow them to use this as a “source” of income or donations.
The Crime Stoppers case was settled and they made agreements to seal the results and not talk about them. They said this was because Crime Stoppers was delaying the court case and they needed the money, so they made that deal.
So they are also saying that because you are talking about it, it goes against the court case agreement. But the restraint order was taken out prior to the agreement and finalization.
They did get tens of thousands of dollars in that settlement.
ONE MORE THING – Sherri Milstead is making charges that you accused her of being arrested for leud bahavior and that was not true. I didn’t see that for myself, so I don’t know if that is something you did. But wanted you to know, they are said to be getting an attorney to fight this. But this is their M.O. with everything. If they can use the Chanel 9 reports to make money they will.

Slideshow WEST PALM BEACH, FL — David Milstead was at lunch at the Sonny’s restaurant in West Palm Beach when he saw what he thought was salt on his plate.
The Loxahatchee man says he took his finger, dipped it in what he thought was the salt, licked his finger and immediately his mouth started burning. He was taken to Palms West Hospital where he reportedly sustained second degree burns to his tongue, mouth and throat.
It turns out a cleaning product containing hydrochloric acid was put on his plate. The big question though for officials at Sonny’s is how did it get there?
“Sonny’s is continuing to investigate this matter. The container being shown is not part of the standard cleaning products issued from the Sonny’s corporate office. We use an 8-oz packet in our stores, which does not require scoops or spillage,” says a corporate spokesperson. “Our understanding is, the manager provided a material safety data sheet with ingredients of the chemical to Mr. Milstead in order to give to the doctor. Sonny’s still does not know where this other container came from, but we are still investigating.”
David Milstead meanwhile is no stranger to the courts.
He has been involved in 20-lawsuits. Those are just the ones we found in Palm Beach County. He also has a criminal record with several misdemeanors and one felony theft charge.
We were not able to reach David Milstead tonight at his hospital room or his attorney after repeated phone calls.

“A message to everyone that wants to see something good come from a tragedy. The last 9 months have been a living hell for my family and no one could possibly understand. There is no reason for any of this and there are no answers that will ever make things better.
How does one deal with things they do not understand? Everyone deals with their emotions differently. Some keep things bottled up, others get angry and look only for the negative. With a good support system, anyone can deal with these emotions and turn them into a positive outcome. This is what our family is trying to do by creating Caylee Marie’s foundation. Doing so will give us a focus off the negative and allow us to heal by helping others.
We know that the months ahead will be difficult; however, we are willing to move ahead and turn the tragic loss of our Caylee into a living tribute to her very existence. You see the love in our family is strong, and no matter what will be placed in our path, our love for her will be the driving force.
Some want us to do things differently, to those who disagree with what we do, all I can say to them is that this is our way to cope. This is our way to grieve, and our way to honor our Caylee Marie.”

They are either seeking fiscal sponsorship from a 501c3, or they have requested their own through the advanced ruling process of the IRS. Since they are publicly soliciting donations through a foundation, you should know about 75% of the funds they take in goes to admin costs, aka- their salaries. If you want their accounting, request it from them.
