    Well Blink-
As I said I would be the first to admit I was wrong!
What amazes me is not that he did it, but DANG it was just to obvious
I couldn’t believe that anyone could be that stupid! I guess this is why I am a real estate buyer and not a private eye.

lol, Sweetpea. The important thing is the wheels of justice have started for Sheri, Garrett and Gavin.B

What a sad story. Those little boys had to see their father murdering them. It gives me chills. It’s just so senseless and tragic. RIP Sheri, Garrett and Gavin!!

  3. Prevost1580 says:

My gawd! what is this world coming to? What a senseless act?! There was/is always divorce!!!

The Bible says that in the last days, people will become lovers of selves. I just do not know what to say anymore?! as this sadness, these tradgedies are 24/7.

    I still ask… WHY????!!!! Sooooo sad :(

  4. Me says:

“I couldn’t believe that anyone could be that stupid!”

    Oh, I can.

I think it’s interesting that this guy was involved with Joyce Meyer and her self-help “ministry”.

He got married very young, was heavily involved in his “church”, had his wife doing the home schooling thing (which was no doubt “Christian” in nature)etc. I bet he even went to one of those soul-stripping mega-churches…and tithed.

I’ve known many people like this guy. You’ll often find them making silly comments like, “I don’t listen to worldly music” and “I don’t read the astrology column in USA Today. I’m a Christian.”

It’s a cult. What kind of people get involved in cults? Weak people.

    He’s also ugly.

Does Illinois have the death penalty? If so, I hope he gets it.

She has only declined comment through her spokesperson.

    That’s how I see it.

If anyone bothers to sit down and actually read the New Testament…he/she will find an ethic 180 degrees from this stuff. Those people were keeping their belongings in common :)

  9. Lovejac says:

Blink, you do know, don’t you? That you were the ONLY site that had this information today.

How does it feel to have “scooped” so many BIG Media guys?

You, my dear, are simply awesome!

I hope this arrest brings Sheri, Gavin & Garett’s family and friends, some hope for justice.

Aww, my dearest LJ. Thank you friend, but you already know I care not about that, I wanted Coleman off the street so bad, as we all did. I did get a chuckle when NG was on and I knew what was going down, however, I loved that the MCS got to enjoy this arrest as much as they could in a case like this.

This guy, is such a WUSS!

There’s no reason why he couldn’t get a divorce….but he would have had NO money. I feel so sorry for the Mom and 2 boys, PLUS their family.

You would have thought this mistress/stripper/HO-tess chick, would have made plenty of $$, had that been an issue. Instead this weak twisted husband & father killed them all. I just hope god doesn’t forgive him and sends him straight to HELL.
I have two young son’s and I don’t know if I could allow them to be around me, if something like this was to happen, I wouldn’t even feel safe to sleep in my own home if I thought that one of my son’s could have done the killing’s. It’s just to bad that something didn’t happen to him, before he had time to commit this horrible deal, as in a heart attack!

RIP, Sheri, Garrett and Gavin Coleman. Your safe now.

  11. Scoop says:

The most telling thing he did was take the house out of her name…

That sounds like something a woman would ask a man to do…

    to prove himself to her.

In my case, I would ask that he remove his own name…

But, it’s not something done by a person working alone.

    .

    There are boogie women, too.

    .

    Justice for Sheri!

TY Angela, I simply mean for Coleman to do the right thing as in take responsibility, dont play games and drag Sheri, the boys, and her family through the mud by pleading Not Guilty, etc.

Really? This “Godly” woman cannot even denounce the act, or at least discuss the fact there are dangerous people hiding in the organized church system today moreso than ever? Apparently she’s more concerned with her stinking money-train than her sheeple/followers. She should have her tax-exempt status ripped away asap.

(Isn’t she one of those organizations that was under investigation along with Benny Hinn (puke) and the Copelands (double-puke)?)

  18. dddeerma says:

Isn’t it a little late to expect Coleman to act like a man? I think that ship sailed, back when he took up with a ho stess who would would have sex with a married man. This whole thing with the religious comments from your readers puzzles me Blink: the words of Jesus are so clear in his Testament. He says to give away your possessions and follow him. He says it easier for a rope to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of GOd. Even St. Paul expected ministers and leaders of the Church to have jobs and not to enrich themselves by their religion. Those who trumpet their faith are told that they have received their reward on this earth and will not be rewarded in the Afterlife. People like Joyce Meyers are not Christian no matter what she says: by their acts, you will know them. I would say Mr. Coleman is a good example of those who put financial gain in front of all morality and decency. He was a close associate of those who take from the poor but do not give. And the sermon is ended for today, you may all go in peace and wait for justice to be done.

Did Chris Coleman ever read his Bible where the Lord says that if one harms one of the little ones, a milestone should be put around his neck and cast into the sea (paraphased). Before he commented these terrible acts against his family, did he believe he would get away with it and not be punished? How unbeliebable evil where his deeds. May Sheri, Garrett and Gavin rest in the eternal arms of Jesus in heaven.

  22. Gypsy DD says:

Blink what a great scoop and kudos!

Hope he is ready to meet his Maker…cause there is no doubt in my mind he is guilty…..and I hope Illinois uses the DP. LWOP should not be an option for this man.

Justice for Sheri, Garrett and Gavin, and their bereaved family started last night!
    Thanks friend.

  23. Me says:

“People like Joyce Meyers are not Christian no matter what she says”

    Exactly.

They are merely very clever people who have made a mint out of marketing “Christianity”. It’s Tony Robbins with a religious twist…nothing more…and if you ask me Tony Robbins comes across as WAY more sincere.

There are HUGE marketing efforts behind all this “Christianity” you see in the US. Christian bookstores, Christian homeschooling material, Christian this…Christian that.

    None of it is Christian.

  24. mamacrazy30 says:

  25. EyesWIDEOpen says:

Me – yes, Illinois DOES have a death penalty, and CC could still be sentenced to death. However, there has been a moratorium on it since 2000 – and Gov. Quinn announced in February he does not plan to lift the moratorium in the near future.

So until the Illinois judicial system is overhauled and/or the Governor feels it is acceptable to carry out death sentences, death row inmates will get their meals and pillows at night.

I agree having more death row inmates exonerated than have been executed (one coming within TWO DAYS of execution) is an overwhelmingly ugly statistic.

  26. EyesWIDEOpen says:

But he could always do us all a favor and kill himself. Worthless POS.

  27. martha says:

joyce meyer and her family have dedicated their lives to helping people thru their ministries. people who denegrate what she does, are the typical left wingers who want this country to go downhill like it is going with no moral basis at all. if more people listened to what the bible teaches and acted on it the Coleman family would still be alive. Satan loves to take something like this and try to connect it to Christian organizations, or anything spiritual.

we applaud dog killing and rapist atheletes and hand them money over fist but Joyce and her family arent supposed to have an income? What she does to help people all over the world far outweighs any monetary things she might have. What she has she has obtained thru hardwork, dedication and a love of Christ.

You can see Chris Coleman mowing his yard from the air. Go to maps.live.com, search for Chris Coleman’s address (2854 Robert Drive, columbia, IL), then click on ‘Bird’s Eye’ view and zoom in. Then hit one of the ‘Rotate’ buttons. In two views, you’ll see the family trampoline next to the house, and Chris Coleman in the back yard mowing. In the other two views, you’ll see the trampoline out in the middle of the yard after Chris had finished mowing the yard.

  31. Bart says:

Just stumbled across looking for answers on how any father could possibly harm let alone kill his family. The more I read the more upset I get. Doesn’t help to read comments from people attacking Ms. Myers as if she had something to do with this horrific act. Your drawing parallels to irrelevant facts. You may as well say all men with blond hair will kill their children. Or all cops are prone to kill their wives. Maybe medical schools and Craiglist should be shut down cause we all know Markoff wasn’t just crazy he was part of the MS cult.

So I ask myself the question again as I hold my three small children; how can someone do this. The only thing I can wrap my brain around is that there is true evil in this world.

We agree on your end statement as I have been quoted many times. Im going to ask everyone to address specific posts and not use this site to pontificate in general. Not to you personally, but its not what this is about.

“… if more people listened to what the bible teaches and acted on it the Coleman family would still be alive.”

Uh, you mean if CHRIS COLEMAN listened to the Bible his family would still be alive. It wasn’t “left wingers” that strangled Sheri, Garrett and Gavin in their own beds. This ‘man’ had a minister for a father, worked in the ‘Christian’ business, …and IS Satan.

  33. dddeerma says:

When Joyce Meyers actually reads the Bible and gives all she has to the poor, then I might reconsider. Until then, she does however need to speak out about the murder of three innocent people of her congregation by someone she had hired. She can’t close her eyes to this evil without expecting it to touch her too.

  34. Augie says:

Paying close attention to the locals who comment on their own town’s news services one can glean information the police and press don’t reveal.

Comments by posters who personally know the victim and/or the accused can be enlightening/brow raising.

Found today (via comments) …. Chris Coleman did not inform the fundamentalist church he was employed at …that he had received “threats” – which HE claimed to police – were stemmed FROM his security duties at the church.

Also . . this preacher’s son (yeah, that was his preacher father and mother – who themselves couldn’t be bothered to respect the situation by dressing properly – at the photo-op viewing of the array of coffins) …married his PREGNANT wife via shotgun wedding forced upon him by the preacher and wife who were afraid their son getting a girl knocked up would damage their “preachy” typical pyramid scheme of a church.

Seems this ex-Marine preacher’s kid is typical of all the preacher’s kids our mothers and society warn us about.

No surprise the man opted for murder, it’s a “running joke” murder is the preferred option to the stigma of divorce in the fundamentalist/evangelical standards of operating procedure.

can I just get one thing off my chest? HE WAS NOT A MARINE, HE WAS USAF. I COME FROM A MARINE FAMILY, THERE’s A DIFF.

ROFLMAO . . try again. Joyce couldn’t even be bothered to come to the aid of a very sick close family relative. After all, it didn’t provide any press or reason for tithing to her pyramid scheme.

  36. SwimMom says:

This whole story sickens and saddens me to no end. The only solace now is that he is behind bars where he belongs and that he didn’t try to run before the arrest warrant was issued. He deserved not one more minute of freedom. The people of IL should be SCREAMING for the DP on this one.. forget the moratorium…Excellent job reporting BLINK!

  37. Liz says:

I am so horrified by this case, I can barely comprehend it. Sadly, men murder their wives and girlfriends every day, but that a father could murder the very children he has reared for years, that he KNOWS, has obviously cared for, laughed with, and provided for, is so beyond my ability to understand – it’s just difficult to believe he’s the same person that could have helped raise them. How do people turn on a dime like this? Or do they? Will we find that this guy exhibited all sorts of red flags? God, I hope so. I always think that if we could just get a grip in this country on undiagnosed mental illness, we’d eliminate at least some of the suffering. Heavy, heavy sigh…ugh.

  38. Cheryl says:

You should really all be ashamed of yourself for saying that Joyce Meyer Ministries would in any way have anything to do with this or condone it. He happened to be employed by her, whoop ti do, if this happened to someone who worked at McDonald’s, would you be expecting McDonald’s to release a statement? Come on people….grow up and do a little research on the lies you are spewing….

This is what I mean, nobody said she had anything to do with what happened to this family. It galls me when the people who are claiming to defend the party are actually the ones making up the accusation. How does that help you?

  45. Augie says:

Today, the Joyce Meyers issued a press release saying, in part:

“This horrible tragedy has deeply saddened us all and although nothing can compensate for the loss of this beautiful family, our ministry remains fully behind the diligent efforts of the law enforcement community.”

Yeah, it would be too Christian to admit the non-stop pew pounding threats of shunning and exile if one opts for divorce cause endless fundamentalists to whack their spouses. If one can stomach their preachy and judgmental public offerings . . . they’re in a constant white wash to avoid the statistics the born again fundamentalist/evangelicals have the highest divorce rate.

Coleman’s father’s church is affiliated and proffers the same money grubbing spiritually constipated dysfunctional and disgusting sick mindset as Hagee, et al. http://www.highpraises.net/

  46. Brenda in Virginia says:

Augie wrote: “Seems this ex-Marine preacher’s kid is typical of all the preacher’s kids our mothers and society warn us about.”

As a preacher’s kid myself all grown up, I agree that many are horribly traumatized emotionally by what we see in the church. My father (thank God) was a good man and left the ministry about the time I was 15. I asked him as an adult what made him decide this and he gave several reasons, one being to “save his family”.

What we PKs see is hypocrisy at its finest in many church members and other pastors in the community. Makes us resent them and that IS a sin which I’ve struggled with my entire life…learning how NOT to resent what I see as twisted and evil.

As for those who believe Joyce is a good example of a Christian leader…let them follow her to where ever she leads them. I really don’t care. I’m finding my own way as my father taught me to do through reading my Bible and prayer/meditation. Actually, have the New Test. on tape and listen in my vehicle every morning on the way to and from work….my commute is an hour and in the 7 yrs I’ve worked here have probably listened through it over 50 times. Everyone who doesn’t have time to read It should buy it in electronic form and listen in the car.

  47. Bart says:

Sorry if I appeared to pontificate – thought I left my white hat at home. I was trying to point out how ridiculous it was that some of the posters have turned this into a religious war. The guy worked as a security guard for a televangelist is that relevant?
TY, well yes, in the sense that he was using a property to carry on an affair and possibly using his job to allow his Ho Stess to trapse arround with him. Other than that, no.

  48. Mamaloveskids says:

Lets definitely stop drawing the parallels.
Back to the case, Blink I’ve been thinking, (assuming he is guilty) how could anyone be this callous? Then it occured to me, maybe he set out to kill just his wife (bad enough already) and unfortunately, one or both of his sons witnessed the act and he decided to finish off everyone! Just my thoughts.
I believe, or choose to believe as it were, that Chris was confronted by Sheri and he killed her in a rage of his impending “outing”. I think its possible one of the children may have woke up during the struggle.
    OR
He is a narcissistic sociopath but a dum dum and thought Daddy bein’ a precher and all gets him the get out of hell free card. Honestly, I feel the need to say my objectivity has left me on this one.

  49. Brenda in Virginia says:

“….and thought Daddy bein’ a precher and all gets him the get out of hell free card.”

Blink…remember all of us discussing the fact Melissa Huckaby probably got overlooked in the first child-drugging incident for the SAME reason? Related and living with the community pastor?

Also, for the poster who is calling this a “religious war”. HUH??? We are noticing that many RICH televangelists are not following the Word of God in their daily lives and it SHOWS to us. How on God’s green earth is that a religious war?

I never thought that MH was overlooked because of her dad being a pastor. She was not overlooked, she was not investigated because the Det judged the Mother and did not follow up on a case of a 7 year old, who was taken without permission for several hours and returned with benzos in her system. Had nothing to do with the pastor. Had to do with this cops prejudice; there isn’t even a record of the interview with Huckaby in the file. I am a staunch supporter of LE, however, unless there is no information to change my mind in this incident, I will never get past that. Ever. Sandra Cantu paid the price for that error and it is unforgivable, imo.
