Tracy Ocasio Case: Sewer By Hataway Home To Be Searched Today

Posted by BOC Staff | James Hataway,Missing Persons,Tracy Ocasio | Tuesday 30 June 2009 9:28 am

Ocoee, FL– Additional search plans for Tracy Ocasio, 27, last seen at the Florida Tap Room leaving with Jimmy Hataway on May 27, are focused on the sewer by Hataways home today.

Tracy1

Last week, the septic tank was drained in the home that Hataway shared with his father Vrigil, following the seizure of two computers.

Ocasios yellow Chevy Cobalt was found a few blocks from Hataways home the day after she was last seen but Police have not called him a suspect in her disappearance.

The Ocasio family recently launched a site, www.tracyocasio.com to help generate leads in her case.

Blink I need your help. I am trying to do some research to see if perhaps Tracy, Rachel and maybe Jennifer were targeted for some racial reason. There seems to be some linkage between Jimmy Hataway and neo-nazi or White supremcy. I noticed Tracy’s dad was hispanic. I am curious to find out if either Rachel or Jennifer’s parents are “mixed”. The other “target” theory i had was perhaps these girls were picked to get back at their families for some reason. I want to find out what the dads do for a living. For instance if all the dads are in construction then maybe this is revenge for not getting paid or feeling Jimmy and his group of misfits were screwed in some way. I know this is out there but with no more facts coming from LE I need to do something. Thank you for any information you can provide on my topic.

Is this case such an enigma because it’s a conspiracy between 3 or 4 of these cretins?

Maybe someone did ask Jimmie to have her drive him home, otherwise I wonder why Jimmie wouldn’t wouldn’t ride home with Toole if they lived near one another. Unless Tracy said earlier in the night that she wanted to smoke pot at his place.

  6. Denise says:

Hi Blink, hope you are well.

Just wondering if they are still searching. I have no idea what the weather is like there at the moment, but was wondering if they are planning on still doing this search and when. Are the other POI’s, such as Hutto and Toole being looked at by LE at all? It sounds like they are dropping the ball. Not pointing the finger, just wondering your thoughts. Certainly understand if you can’t say.

  7. Brenda in Virginia says:

For all of the posters discussing that Jennifer supposedly wanted to “smoke pot” and left with him for that reason…do NOT forget that anyone who rapes, kills, or does otherwise to another individual WILL do whatever it takes to lower the credibility or virtue of that person when they speak of them. Remember AGAIN Natalee Holloway!!! Retard Joran even called her a b1tch and slut…and tried to say Nat called her mom a “Nazi”. All in an attempt IMO to cut her virtue down and make it appear he was simply in the presence of a woman “lower in standard” than she should be. No doubt this is partly what’s going on. Whether or not Jen partied is kinda irrelevant other than the fact it may have been used to LURE her to her death.

Psychic tip came from this site! http://www.wesh.com/news/19915565/detail.html. I remember reading it in one of the previous sections. Funny that turns out to be the lead they follow up on and not any of the other individuals (Huttos and Toole) or locations (nearby water bodies such as Lake Starke and Apopka) that have been discussed here… What is the Ocoee PD’s deal? I understand that the father went out grasping at straws, but I definitely feel like they (OcPD) are letting this one slip away when the answer has got to be closeby.

To Wendy and comment #51 Tracy’s father works with the Dollar Store- though I am not sure in what capacity. If you look under the website that is poster at the beginning of the article (www.tracyocasio.com) he has a very nice letter to his coworkers there thanking them for their support.

I hope someone tips in for this family, LE is going to do whatever they are going to do, but recovering Tracy is some closure for them. (I hate that word, but u know what I mean)

Your comments re: that lake make me wonder what TES thinks on that? Hmm? (Just thinking outloud there B-)

    Yep.
And.. You have 2 pond dredgers pointing the finger at each other. Only one is being investigated and no ponds are being searched. Blink… I just read the comment (and link) regarding a psychic tip leading them to a new search for Tracy. It says they are searching off of Crown Point Parkway. That is right in the same area as Nola Drive. Wow! Do you know if this was a second tip for that same area? Thanks, mjh

  15. mjh says:

    Hey Blink,

I just read the second link to that story (on Wesh), and it answered my question. Sorry. I have a lot of mixed feelings right now. I really want them to find Tracy, as the sooner they find her, the more likely they can get evidence, and figure out who did it, and put them away for life. I also know how hard it must be for her family, and I want Tracy returned to them. So, in a way, I’m hoping it leads to something. But, obviously, at the same time, I would rather her be found alive, as I’m sure we all would. I will be praying for Tracy and her family. Thanks Blink

  16. Roach says:

There’s several possibilities below in what I consider order of probability:

    1) Hataway is the sociopath he seems to be and killed her, like he tried to kill Rachel Clarke. This is almost certainly what happened. It would be dangerous for him to involve others. I don’t see any need to induldge the Hutto and Toole explanations, as this one is the simplest, most likely, and connects most directly with the evidence. Sure he and she both had some enemies, but he alone has shown this to be an M.O., and petty criminals (like Toole and the Huttos) do not necessarily cross this line that Hataway has tried to cross before.

    2) Toole and Hataway killed her together. I’m reluctant to believe this. Toole could be yappy to press b/c he didn’t do it, is worried about his upcoming issues b/c of failure to register, and was a known friend of Hataway.

    3) Hataway told Toole or Hutto or both in passing that he was leaving bar with Ocasio, and they intercepted her as she left. This, however, does not explain why her car was parked near his house but so far down the road. Her parking might indicate Hataway and she were “making out” near Hataway’s house or smoking weed, but also might show that Hataway or someone else moved the car after dispatching her.

    4) Someone totally unrelated killed her after she dropped off Hataway. Possible, but bad things seem to happen whenever Hataway is alone with a woman. This would be very inconvenient for Hataway, but it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

I have to say the stuff about psychics, sex slavery, a mafia style organization with a “boss,” and all the rest, while totally lurid, doesn’t seem to have any basis in fact. These are low-level low-lifes. Hataway is a careless, sociopathic guy with a tendency to violence against women. We don’t need to invent fantasies from movies that have little to do with real life. Incidentally, sexual slavery in the US is almost totally the province of Hispanics and Asians with their captive illegal alien populations and massage parlors respectively. Middle class American girls like Tracy will tell someone what they’re facing and get help, escape, etc. in those circumstances.

  18. Calilady says:

Brenda, if this was your relative, you would be very upset at the way this investigation has been handled. I can see that you take it personally, since you work for a police department. I am an educated lady, but not in law-enforcement. You ought to move to Ocoee, since you think you can make Hataway talk, and see how far you can get. I am angry with these creeps that think they can hurt people and get away with it. I am glad that Blink offers this site, for us that are hurting to be able to vent. If this was your relative, I am sure you would not see the case the same way as you are seeing it right now.

Ms. Cali, I can tell you from first hand experience what you are saying is true. In your and your familys’ situation all you want is Tracy to be found. I get that more than I could ever articulate. It is my driving force to be honest.
Brenda was not out of line per se in a general way, but in Tracys’ case, I fear, possibly, off.

However, that said, the priority is to find Tracy, and the protocal for same is not being followed and I want to know why

I’m just wondering, as you have, if he and Tracy were going to hook up later. It’s quite possible that she was taking the POI home to score a little dope and then meet up with this other person later. Who knows? It’s all speculative at this point.

I bet you’d agree, …she had NO idea this situation was so far out of the norm’, or WHO (really) she was messing with (and calling the cops on). This is NOT ‘ordinary’IMO. And the records are screaming out loud here.

Every girl with a little grit will stand up when she thinks something is not quite right. She walked into a ‘snake nest’….and by every account I’ve read, she didn’t realize not eveyone in the world was playing with the same deck. JMHO.

  25. Riddlemethis says:

    Okay-
So I just read p59……what can we do? There is an answer here, and there is no way all those “pretty pink” tattle tale records (as long as my arm) mean nothing.

I can only think to encourage ‘elevating’, but how high? it looks pretty high already. Don’t you have a ‘pal’ who owes you one on this story as I recall? Some attention glaring perspective perhaps shining light to the details everyone seems to be missing? IDK. This is frustrating and a bad situation. Not trying to put it on you…..

  26. Brenda in Virginia says:

Riddle, apparently not. As I explained to Blink, I’ve also been subjected to trash talk at a small department and the ptsd of sorts reared its ugly head. Just took something personally that I had no reason to take that way. That said, I do stand by the fact they are trying to get info from someone serendipously (did I spell that right?)

Also wanted to add that the only reason our officer asked myself and the other dispatcher try to pull info from the “Aussie” guy (who wasn’t) was because we only had 3 officers on duty and they’d spent well over 30 mins with him…..couldn’t afford to take any more time with him.
There’s little I respect more than someone that is accountable and respectful and your clearly both, it’s all good. I want to be clear I am a staunch supporter of LE. Keep in mind, some of what I uncover never sees this site, but goes directly to LE. If it does and it is case sensitive, you can bet they get it first if appropriate. I dont scoop at the expense of an investigation, I am hopeful to progress it, not hurt it.

    B –
I’d appreciate it if what I’m going to say isn’t posted. I don’t want to offend anyone or get the topic off track because this is pure speculation and nothing more than a feeling.

This is regarding the Rachel Clarke situation.

I have no doubt that something happened when Rachel drove Hataway home. But, is it possible that her accounts of that night could have been askew?

Rachel drives Hataway home and they start to fool around in her car. Being older and more experienced than Rachel, Hataway may have gotten a little more aggressive than what she was used to. Not paying attention to her signals that she was getting uncomfortable, Hataway, along with his fueled testosterone, continued full steam ahead thinking that her struggles were all part of the “play.” At some point she was able to get out of the car and run. He ran after her to find out what happened and to defuse the situation. He was able to catch up to her and at that point, they both fell to the ground. This would be about the time the witnesses came out to see what the ruckas was all about. This was just in time to see both of them on the ground. Hataway panicked and ran.

I remember reading way back in the beginning of all this that some of Hataway’s prior girlfriends said that he liked his encounters a little on the rough side. To me, this could have be the scenario of that night and because Rachel was scared to death, in her mind, he was trying to kill her.

You can see how this would cause others to think that I’m defending his actions if he in fact did try to kill her. But the fact that she or her parents did not pursue this “attempted homicide” when it first occurred causes some doubt in my mind as to the actual events. I know that if it had been my daughter or me, I would have been relentless with LE to pursue the matter. Every form of media available would have known about it. I would also want this person off the streets so as not to harm anyone else. It just all seems a little off to me.

There’s something that keeps bugging me in this case. I know that Hataway is the main (or only) suspect, as he was the last one seen with Tracy. But, would a guy leave a bar full of people with a girl, when everyone in the bar knows they are leaving together. Then, get her to his house, do something to her (possibly murder), put her somewhere, and then leave her car right near his own street? You’d think he would move the car as far away as possible, and somewhere where it wouldn’t be spotted for a while. It almost seems to me that the car was put there on purpose. The thing is, her phone is still pinging in that area at 8:30 a.m. How big of an area does that one tower cover?

mjh- I think I read somewhere that cell phone towers can cover from 1 mile to about 5 miles in radius, depending on the amount of people the tower is servicing. I think in the Casey Anthony case, they mentioned that a tower normally covers 3-5 miles in readius.

  34. FairWitness says:

Good grief, Blink. I feel so terribly sorry for former Ocoee Detective Michelle Johnstone. She was the victim of this troglodyte’s horrid behavior, yet she is punished. And her husband killing himself, a fellow police officer, over this deplorable situation. What a tragedy.

Ocoee Police Department has some serious problems if this is the culture they expect their employees and citizens to function in.

I don’t understand their associations/close relationships with the Hutto brothers, either. These two guys are druggies and dealers. Do they even have real jobs? Why make nice with criminals? I thought the police were supposed to enforce the law, not facilitate the breaking of it.

Does the State of Florida have an investigative bureau? Perhaps the state should investigate the Tracy Ocasio disappearance. There may never be any justice for Tracy or resolution of this case if this is how the Ocoee PD operates.

  35. FairWitness says:

Blink, Florida’s Attorney General is former US Congressman, Bill McCollum. Does his office have the authority to investigate this?

    “Family Updates
    07/03/2009

    From: Joe Ocasio, Tracy’s father

Day 38 since Tracy was taken from us.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words and prayers. As we continue to look for Tracy many tips are still coming in about Jim Hataway’s character, however not a single tip yet about anyone ever seeing her car the night she dissapeared. There is a gap between 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM when her car was spotted by the home owner of the property where her car was abandoned.

In addition we have no clues about the where abouts of her phone and keys. However we have phone records placing the phone in the area until 8:30 AM. The phone tower records placed the phone .21 miles from the tower which ironically is also .20 miles from Jim Hataways house. Right after my wife called her phone at 8:30 AM whomever had the phone either turned it off and or disposed of it. We know it’s not there as we’ve searched the area many, many times. This obviously indicates someone knows about her phone.

We know there are people out there that have information that can help us find our daughter. We also know that many are afraid to come forward or do not care to help. I beg those of you that know something no matter how small to please come forward and help us bring our daughter home. We need to know what has happened to our daughter…good or bad….PLEASE HELP US!

You can call the Ocoee Police department at 407-905-3160 or 407-905-3161 OR CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS. The CrimeLine is 100% anonymous and your conversation will not be recorded.”

  37. mjh says:

    Hi FairWitness,
I am the type of person who does give others the benefit of the doubt until I see some real hard evidence that shows me otherwise. I do not judge people by what they look like, the clothes they wear, or the job position they hold. I learned a long time ago that you cannot go by everything you see or read in the media. Most times, they have some of the facts wrong, and they add things just to make the story more sensational. The way I see it, right now, the only thing they have linking Jimmy Hataway to Tracy is the fact that he was the last person seen with her. I understand that the last person seen with a victim is usually the person they look at. Maybe they do have more evidence that I just don’t know about yet. But, so far, I haven’t seen any. So, I have to look at it and say “OK, what IF he didn’t do it? What are the other possibilities?” Someone could have followed them — people in the bar knew they were leaving together. Tracy could have met up with somebody else after she left Hataway’s house. Or, maybe he told her “I know where we can get some good pot” and talked her into driving him to another location, and something happened there. It just seems to me that it IS possible that somebody planted the car there. I just don’t know. But, I think that ALL possibilities should be looked into. If he did do it, then he should be punished for it. Hopefully, they will find Tracy soon, and they will have more evidence. And, if what you say is true — Jimmy is illogical, irrational, and unintelligent — then how did he pull this off without leaving any evidence behind?

  38. Calilady says:

Blink, I am now even more concerned about the so called investigation for Tracy. I checked-out the link you gave in your post#82. I feel like you, as long as the LE is doing their job, I will support them. In view of the link and the slow snail pace this particular investigation has taken, makes me feel so disgusted with this particular police department. I do know that they are trying somewhat. Joe Ocasio has no choice but to have to wait on them. Has the LE searched the school grounds for the so called “strange mounds?” I don’t blame Joe for not leaving any stones unturned. I know the “psychic” thing is farfetched, but at this point he has no daughter, thus he has no choice but to search there if he must. I hop someone helps him dig the area in question.

Cali. Gale St. John is a proved fraud. She will milk the Ocasios if she can, or will exploit Tracy in the hopes of resurrecting her failed pilot shows. She is a little thing I like to call parfung. (ParasiticFungus)

mjh – I found the link about Tracy talking to a man before leaving the bar with Hataway in post #47

    http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19628565/detail.html

I’m just wondering if she was going to get drugs from Hataway and was then going to meet up with this other person. It was reported that she didn’t take the drugs from Hataway because he didn’t have very much. I think Hataway said this himself. OF course, I don’t know where that information is either. I’ll have to go back through everything again.

  40. Calilady says:

Tracy did spit on the man that knocked her down to the ground. She too felt humiliated by his action. she punched the guy as well, when she got back on her feet. Tracy was trying to be the peace keeper in an altercation with the fella that knocked her down as well as a pair of woman, all over a pool table. yes tracy should had stayed out of it. Does that mean that she went back to hanging out with this same people that she had the altercation with, no, because they went to jail. Tracy was a firecracker, a no nonesense girl. She should had stayed out of the altercation inside the bar, because it had nothing to do with her, but she did. She doesn’t deserve to die because of it.

Absolutley Cali, but make no mistake, she knew both Huttos, she dated one. This was NOT a stranger encounter.

I only googled “ocoee police department corruption” as one logical explanation for Toole’s comfort level and Hutto’s ‘teflon’ status. I just figured in a city of 31,000 or so (a stat also googled) there is more than enough room for the police and potential perps to overlap, the guys who seem to get away with stuff may have the upper hand on some members of LE who may have much to lose. something in comments 44 and 45 made me think “strange bedfellows..” I am a loyal blinkoncrime reader learning the research ropes. Hey Blink…

RE: #88, Calilady — It is not Gale St. John that she is referring to. Joe Ocasio went to the area we discussed previously (at the end of Nola Dr.– near the school grounds). He found some strange dirt mounds there, which he took pictures of, and has asked the police to search that area. They were supposed to be doing it “over the next few days”, which was stated yesterday. I don’t know if they have started the search there yet or not. But, this one has nothing to do with Gale St. John. She is doing something else, somewhere else. Sorry — just wanted to clarify. Hopefully, they will search this area soon.

Drew sure had a lot of back alley type friends to be such an upstanding police officer. Wonder if any cops for Ocoee had the same kind of friends? One hand washes the other so to speak.

I just really wish they would find Tracy. She is on my mind every single day. My daughter is sleeping at a friend’s house tonight. I cannot sleep when she is not home. Blink, if #94 is for real why can’t you run their IP addy down. Maybe if it is a public place where they are using a computer there is a camera. Of course, if there is something to this you are already light years ahead of me! The brainstorms are mild and few and far between, lol.
