Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Baez Blasts Team Padilla
Orlando, Fl– Late last week the latest motions in the defense of Tot mom Casey Anthony for allegedly murdering her 34 month old daughter Caylee were filed. Talk about your average ingrate. The very team Jose Baez called on for help to bail out his client is the latest target in Baez defense teams attempt to restart the bilge pump in Casey’s sinking ship.
Baez latest attempt to un-ring the Padilla bell may as well have arrived at the clerks office on a cocktail napkin; it will be taken exactly that seriously.
There is no expectation of privilege where there is no attorney/client relationship in Florida. The question is, did Jose Baez sufficiently disclose that information to his client, Casey Anthony? Is this motion really designed to stave off the current Florida Bar complaints under investigative review?
Sources inside the investigation have confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that Baez is attempting to head the testimony of Padilla et al “off at the pass” for multiple reasons. It is expected that the backyard babblings of Casey Anthony to Tracy Mclaughlin will corroborate some of the evidence at the scene where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found. That’s not all. Baez is indirectly looking to block Leonard, Tracy, Rob and Tony from the civil case against his Client filed by Zenaida Gonzalez by blocking them from allowing their testimony as witnesses for the state in the criminal trial.
So What Would They Say?
Leonard Padilla, and occasionally Rob Dick have appeared on camera and spoken publicly about this case for the better part of a year.
Tony Padilla agreed to appear once on Nancy Grace to clear up some inconsistencies about the Surety process at the request of his surety firm early on, but prefers not to speak about the case publicly. Tracy has never given an interview publicly, but all of them have given statements to the FBI. What possible grounds will he claim to assert privilege when they did not work for Baez, nor did Baez ever pay any of them for anything?
None, because there aren’t any.
As far as revelations in their testimony, don’t expect any bombshells that have not been floating about already with the possibility of an exception or 50. They are:
Casey openly admitted to Rob Dick that she was forced to be following a script. He is also expected to provide some insight as to what Casey was doing in Baez’s office for 7 hours a day under the auspice of preparing for her defense.
The defense team revealed openly they would be pointing the finger at Jesse Grund. They are in possession of a first birthday card Jesse wrote to Caylee that they plan to use as the foundation of such an allegation.
Casey made Tony Padilla dinner the evening he got there to post her bond in George and Cindy’s presence in the Anthony home. He found her demeanor to be completely inconsistent with that of a mother whose child was missing, and she never once mentioned Caylee. Outside of Casey’s presence Tony asked Cindy who Caylees’ father was. Cindy presented him an article from the May 7, 2007 fatal crash that claimed the life of Jesus Ortiz. Tony initiated meeting Casey because one of his concerns when posting bond for her, was that she might commit suicide. Following that meeting, he felt confident there was a zero percent chance that was a possibility.
Remember this line, you will hear it again, “When are you going to stop acting like a cop and start acting like a Dad!!!”.
George Anthony purchased the handgun minutes following the rumor that Casey was about to be arrested on the economic charges and her bond would be revoked. Baez told the Anthonys’ that he alerted the OCSO that if that were the case, he would agree to turn her in, and they were under the impression they would agree to that arrangement.
What Baez did not know, is that OCSO was aware of the building potential for violence between George and Casey in the Anthony home and there was a genuine concern for Tracy’s safety on behalf of Team Padilla in the Anthony home. George Anthonys’ friend from Trumball County Ohio, we will call him Trumball Jim, told George everything he needed to know about Caylee’s whereabouts was in her room down the hall, (indicating Casey in her bedroom). George had it out with Casey demanding she tell him what she knew, and Jim had to pull George and Casey apart. Tim Miller, founder of Texas Equusearch, arrived shortly thereafter and was met at the door by Jim, with that episode being recounted to him as the first interface he had with anyone in the Anthony camp in that home.
This prompted Leonard’s comments on Nancy Grace that they could revoke her bond for any reason at any time and they were considering it. The photo on the front page of this article comes from the press conference following the meeting between Leonard and Baez that ensued after Baez had previously refused to discuss the issue with Leonard until he threatened to pull out.
Casey Anthony was scheduled to be interviewed by ABC at the Anthony home the day after she was rearrested and her bond was revoked. This was the reason that the Padillas received countless calls from Cindy and Lee begging Tony Padilla not to revoke her bond. Had they not, she could have been released within the hour as Baez stated at the time.
Lastly, the agreement Baez presented in his motion is not the only agreement between the parties in this motion. There is at least one more variation in which Tony Padilla requested language changes specifically that he did not include in the motion.

Blink, do you have an opinion about the importance of finding who little Caylee’s real father is? I feel if TwinkieBoobs was raped by someone important and powerful or the son of someone important and powerful and became pregnant with little Caylee, they could be trying to cover this whole thing up. Someone is bankrolling this cover-up. George and Cindy were on the verge of losing their house just before the murderf. Now it seems like they are “living the life”.
kleat – wasn’t Cindy on vacation from work during the time frame the car was parked at Amscot & towed away by the time her vacation was over, so it’s moot as to whether it was in her line of sight going to/from Cindy’s work? that’s what was discussed earlier on another thread, IIRC.
As to the car positioning in the Amscot parking space, in his LE interview transcipt, Tony said he was in a hurry to get back to studying & seemed slightly annoyed at having been called to come get her once again for running out of gas — it’s possible he didn’t pay close attention to detail at the time & really noted Casey’s positioning herself between the dumpster & the car & having the grocery bags on the outside of her car already. Although the tow truck driver had a cold or upper respiratory disorder at the time he picked the car up at Amscot which interfered with his ability to smell any stench that might’ve been emanating from the car at the time, he seemed to take more time with the car, having to speak w/the supervisor at Amscot to get the signature needed to complete the tow – so he viewed the car more than once at the time – & was in a position to judge it’s positioning in the Amscot parking space — just the process of readying it for the tow would’ve made him more aware of it, compared to Tony’s perception. JMHO.

Add Gentiva to the list of those who might be interested in the privacy issues of Cindy Anthony’s Compaq laptop.
If someone got a hold of that computer, imagine what use the documents or personal ID information for the clients that Cindy served as a home care provider. Casey had already defrauded one senior in a care home, well two, both grandparents were victims of Casey’s ability to access that dedicated chequing account. If she could do this to victimize her own grandparents, she could certainly take advantage of other vulnerable clients if she found the names and addresses on her mother’s laptop computer. And mother Cindy did not report this laptop missing or stolen to protect her Gentiva related files on the computer– at a minimum.
‘An MSWord document entitled “diary of days,doc” was bookmarked. The MetadataAnalysis of the document “Diary of Days” reports the author as CMANTHON of theGENTI VA Corporation on July 2, 2008 at 10:42:08 am. The document was bookmarkedand copied to the Evidence\Documents folder.’
BTW, exactly when did the laptop leave Cindy’s house and possession? When did Casey remove the laptop from the home to use when she was ‘away’? Cindy wouldn’t notice????
(btw, Cindy discussed in some detail, her choice of passwords for herself, even her work passwords IIRC, and these used their dogs and cats names. Simple for Casey to figure out how to access her mother’s private work files, or her ‘side’ of the home computer. Presumably, the laptop did not have a partitioned HD?
Ok well here is my two cents on the issue of caylees father. Casey obviously chose not to include caylees father in caylees life. Clearly but this is JMO casey had a habit of excluding nice young men from caylees life.

Casey starts by not telling jesse the truth about who caylees father really is, then when she does jesse alredy is bonded. And choses to step in as father then when he does, casey jilts him. Chica – I wanted to read the IM’s between Casey & Tony but there are so many pages of docs – even with a search on the site I couldn’t find which one had the info. Could you give a document name or narrow it down a bit? I am fascinated mostly with how someone – a mother – could live in such an alternate universe about their own daughter and within their own mind. The magnitude with which Casey lies and manipulates those around her – and how many people have fallen under her spell is unbelievable. And for SOooo long! Even in the face of all of the evidence she still has supporters – people that loved Caylee. I am interested in the psyche of that pure and simple.

Basically says it was seized on 7/16/08 along with nokia cellphone…but neither was examined until a warrant was obtained to search them.
From what I am reading the computer contents would be legally obtained from a search warrant. But, whatever the officer snatched out of that wallet, might not be…IF Lee was even telling the truth.
From what Silver is telling us she doesn’t put as much stock in what’s in the computers as being of great importance in the trial. But, as at least one friend said, Casey “lived” by the computer…meaning it was a big part of her social life…and I feel what comes from those computers will help to pin down her lies,fill in some gaps, & fill in some of the timeframe of her actions. JMO

People – the Anthony’s are not going to get away with this forever. If they don’t come clean and work for the truth of what happened to Caylee, everything will blow up in their face – either by LE’s hand or by God’s hand. (Karma). The prosecutors deposed Cindy. Lasted 4 hour but she didn’t say anything coming or going. Didn’t look to happy though.
And she took in her little cassette recorder too. So with that recording, the defense won’t ‘have’ to request transcripts, or maybe Baez recorded the session too. Cindy will be able to share her session with George and Lee before their depos.
You can bet the media, if not, Mn’M, will ask for transcripts so they will become public quickly. Mn’M would want to review this before September’s date with the A’s.
In my opinion, Cindy and George may as well be dancing everyday on Caylee’s grave, cause that is EXACTLY what it equates to with every day that passes, and they continue to bottle up the truth and transfer it into lies that suit their fantasy world view. As long as they continue this facade, they have NO right exploiting her further by going on talk shows, making public appearances, accepting $200,000 blood money for Caylee photos all the while eating crab puffs, staying at the Ritz Carlton, and giving truth a bad name by blaming everyone but the true source of this injustice

No, she is not allowed to record it on her own, and that there was a courthouse deputy, whom a birdie told me she had a choice to appear at her deposition, or be held on contempt and taken into custody by the nice lady with the badge.

That ‘was’ a little recorder, wasn’t it? Last depo with Mn’M, she almost brought a whole video production unit in that black bag of hers.
Blink, that surely was not a comb-holder discretely worn on the right side of Cindy’s escort and not a costume jewellery pendant, for sure– it was considerate of the Sherrif’s department to have the escort in a nice civilan summer outfit rather than a uniform.
This gave a professional and tactful appearance to the proceedings which is such a refreshing change from the past with it’s banter and confrontation amongst players.
But Cindy was allowed her Caylee pendant, and Brad sported a Caylee button on his briefcase. The message was clear, today’s deposition was for Caylee alone– no Casey trinkets on view so this too, was respectful.
I’m having some extreme thoughts that I really need help in “disseminating”.
I was alone this afternoon and got the chance to watch, listen, and observe the August 3, 2008 jail conversation between Casey and George. I am trying to dissect this with logic and I am telling you, I just do not believe George knew this baby was dead in this exchange with Casey…yet, there is so much talk about “what everybody else is doing” that it makes me think George is purposefully not talking about any “clues” that Casey might can give him to help them. He asks for help, even suggests protective custody and pleads for cooperation from Casey. She says she simply can’t do anymore than what she has done. He handles her with kid gloves. George expresses his concern with Jose; Casey assures George that Jose has her best interest at hand. George wishes they could go back to the way things should be. Casey refuses to answer if the family/she has been threatened. Casey refers to the People Magazine article and how it is all about “her” and not Caylee. George says basically that it was spun out of context. Casey just wants to go home. She just wants to be with her family and that is all she is going to say until it happens. George relates how Holly, all of Casey’s friends are ripped apart over this. George says, “We are going to do it…we are going to be a family, this is the ultimate…having you here and not having Caylee right now is the ultimate…” He talks about Lee being remarkable in his efforts…and he wants Mallory to get involved…even though it’s a tragedy in their lives…
Casey is “crying” during this whole (part 1) video…talking about the Bible and how much she needs the Bible to remain by her beside and George concurs.
Casey proclaims her love for her family and wants to be with “her baby”…that is her focus…
George wants a “big birthday party…a little red mustang convertible for her (Caylee) to ride around in”…not hold anything back but be straight with each other. He says he has opened up more to Cindy in the last few weeks than the last few years. Casey agrees…”Absolutely!”…18 billboards across Florida to help find her…she (Caylee) is so beautiful…Casey agrees and uses the words, “She’s Captivating and she is the best of all of us…she’s the top point in our star!” But George tells Casey that is because they see so much of Casey in Caylee. George is thankful that Casey is a fighter, like him. He would switch places in a second with his beautiful daughter…if he could. He wants to see her more and talk to her more. Casey has tried to call the house but guesses they have been out and about all weekend. The word ABSOLUTELY is used by Casey so many times, I lost count. He misses the hugs, he is sorry he has been so tough. She forgives them…HIM…says he will always be her buddy.
George says he knows how much Casey loves them all, especially Caylee. Tells her one of her teachers (doesn’t say her name because he doesn’t want her to get bombarded…it’s a woman) sent a card to them expressing her fondness for Lee and Casey. Casey says it’s not fair for other people to have the media “in their face”. Her strength she says comes from “all the love that she feels from you all”…
George tells her that he is meeting with AMW, John Walsh and they are now in a club that they are in for life. He tells her that after awhile, people forget about missing children and again Casey agrees with “Absolutely”. Again, George asks for ideas from Casey for merchandise to market for the trust fund for Caylee. He tells her that “Mom and I are trying everything we can to get you out of here.” and tells her how tough Cindy is, even though she is sick right now, she won’t stop.
He just wants her to know that this will be on “the media” later and they will want to know what questions he asked her….that he was just going to relay the love they all have and that nothing is “scripted”. He promises he is doing whatever he can to find her and that is why he needs to know everything and Casey assures him she has told him everything, done everything that she can. Then he tells her that the media is making it out that they are all speaking in code but they both agree they aren’t. He tells her the Sheriff’s Department is releasing what they want released. It ends with love, love, feel it, love, love, “JoJo, go get mail?” love, no matter what, we all love each other more than anything.
45 minutes of non-stop “crying” from Casey. 45 minutes of something from George that I need help understanding. What do you think she is doing? Is she trying to “convince” George that she is being truthful or what????
A few weeks ago, I turned 54. My birthday present from my dad (God bless him) every year is to hold me in his big rocking chair and sing to me and console me and speak his love for me and tell me how much I am adored by him. He rocks me and holds me and sings to me the songs I remember as a child him singing to me. My dad is a minister. Has been all my life. He loves me….but he hates the sins I have committed. I have always known this. He would not, could not, should not and never has made things easy when he knew that I KNEW things I had done were wrong. My mother on the other hand is a different story. Today at 72, she has Alzheimer’s and half the time doesn’t even remember my name. But my Dad’s one and only love is my mother…even in the “state” she is in. Even when she attacks me (if she does recognize me and by happen-chance remembers an argument we had when I was 17)…he stands by her, does what she wants, says what she wants, whatever….to make her happy.
I feel George is rocking Casey in this convo. I believe he is protecting a still “sick” Cindy; to protect her (though I don’t understand it). George made his choice to deny sometime after this jail house phone conversation. To deny the truth and lie if need be to justify the version Cindy, Casey, and Lee convinced him would be in the best interest of the family to portray.
And…
If Casey ever intended to “retrieve” the car, why didn’t she use the money she stole from Amy to get the car back?
I notice from the interviews with the officers that took Casey to Medical that day that Lyons is in charge and Jose, even though I sensed him wanting to take control at times, is nothing more than a charlatan. He reminds me of a court jester.
I can not imagine how Kleat, Maura, Silverspnr, Red Ranger and others of you come to some of the “brillant” moments that I only stumble upon on a rare basis.

Anyone: I don’t see how this second go-around was allowed to happen as though it was the first time being deposed. Didn’t Cindy lie the first time at the deposition, which to my understanding was under oath? Also, didn’t Cindy lie the first time with detectives, with the whole car ordeal, dead body then it turned into a pizza?

Todd, this is the first deposition of Cindy Anthony in the state’s criminal case against Casey. There is no other in this case.
Just to clarify-
My opinion about the contents of the laptop was THIS:
There would have been no information on it that would have ASSISTED LE in LOCATING the (NONEXISTENT) “NANNY”/ in locating (a LIVE) Caylee on July 15, 2008.
HOWEVER–
Make no mistake on my opinion about this:
The LACK OF information about the alleged “nanny”== coupled with a WEALTH of information about Casey (her whereabouts/her mental state(s)/her activities) during those crucial 31 days (and the months preceding it)???
RELEVANT and RELEVANT.
The lawful/legal search of the laptop contents thereafter may well (should) serve as KEY EVIDENCE at TRIAL.
On the personal side-

It is still my belief that casey intended for her family to find caylee. She killed caylee and put her in the place she herself played as a child, she left all this incriminating evidence for her family to find then gave them coded messages as to where to find caylee. I still believe casey intended to speak to george alone on 8/14 and tell him what cindy and lee had knowledge of and how much they had already done to cover up for casey.casey makes it really clear on 8/14 that she is fed up with her mothers antics and how she is being portrayed in the media and is most definately frustrated to see cindy there at that visit. Cindy knew whatt casey was going to tell george and put a stop to it when she showed up. And baez put a stop to the visits after that. I feel certain that casey viewed george as the one she could trust of the three. Casey really did view herself as helpful. I think cindy told casey to get rid of the car maybe burn it even but casey did not do it. George did not know about cindy and lee’s antics until kw told him so.

We can not know of the “hearing” today, with Cindy, unless one of the parties “asks for a transcript”. How likely is it that a member of proscecution would ask for one, just so it can be made to the public??????

Thanks Blink, you made my night. Knowing that Cindy was brought in by an officer of the court is absolutely great news. It is time that woman is taken down a notch or two. She was given a blessing in a darling little innocent girl to enjoy. And she has never once voiced anything to indicate that she puts that little angel anywhere in her line of thoughts that a grandmother should. I, who never have a nightmare, had one after I started reading and researching this. It is one I cannot even think of without cringing still.
And she will be back tomorrow for more! I think John Morgan is going to be really interested in exactly what she has to say in all those hours of grilling! When I read that Kathi Belich (?) said she had a wierd smile on her face when she left, I imagined the smirk on her face Mr. Morgan made her swallow in the last moments of the ZG deposition.

Blink, so Baez was also not allowed to be ‘wired’ or have a recorder, therefore he had best take good notes if he does not want the early release of Cindy’s deposition to be made public in transcript form? Wouldn’t A.L (as in Andrea Lyon, not AnTony Lazzaro) need to have a transcript as Cindy’s testimony will be important at trial, as will any spin Cindy wishes to control on what she says and how. The defense better have a very good handle on what Cindy is likely to say and what demeanour she is likely to display. Cindy could hurt the defense if not handled carefully (given her civil depo display and changeable stories), couldn’t she? If she takes off on her own panic driven tangent?
To my knowledge, they are all reliant on the court recording and ensuing transcript and provided a copy.

I would also like to add that george made it pretty clear in his M&M trial that he will answer questions he is asked under oath at the criminal trial and not before. Sure would like to know what he told the grand jury that got casey charged with murder. Did you notice geo reaction when caylee was referred to in the depo as (the remains)?

Blink you have posted that on 7/15 after george picked up the car and cindy told george to go to work (so she could address the car AND warn casey, you said george did not go to work, did he go looking for casey or did he go curl up with some bottles? Is that also why he got sick during his LE interview while describing the smell?
