Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: New Discovery Released – Lee Anthony Granted Immunity?

Orlando, Florida– Over 1500 pages of New Discovery have been released by the State’s Attorney’s Office in the Case against Casey Anthony for the murder of 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthony.

A source speaking on condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, believes almost half of the information contained in the reports relates to Jesse Grund, Casey’s former fiancee’.

LA being granted immunity, wow that’s an interesting development. I wonder if charges against mom and dad will soon follow.

This is a great site and I’ve been meaning to comment for a while. Still have an immense amount of catching up to do. Just wanted to give a big thanks to Blink, and all the rest of you wonderful contributors.

Another news alert…… ALL Anthony’s refuse to take polygraph!http://wdbo.com/localnews/2009/07/new-casey-docs-anthonys-refuse.html

  4. boo says:

Uh oh rumor has it that lord DH has some issues he might be concerned about.

  5. FairWitness says:

Why would the parents and brother of Casey Anthony refuse to take polygraphs? When did these refusals happen? Why does Lee Anthony need immunity before he is deposed by the state?

The answer to these questions is obvious; they have been lying to law enforcement, prosecutors and attorneys involved in the case AND intend to go on lying. It’s also possible they have covered up for Casey and might possibly be charged as accessories to murder after the fact.

I may have to rethink my compassion for the Anthony family. They are NOT seeking the truth and justice for little Caylee. Absolutely sickening.

How on earth does a family not avenge the murder of their most innocent, most vulnerable family member? What a tragedy. I am so terribly sad for that precious little baby.

  6. Kleat says:

Mariann, that’s very very old news about the polygraph refusals.

Hey Blink– WESH is asking for readers to go through the documents and tell them if ‘we’ notice anything of interest!! There’s a new twist– now WHERE on earth would they learn the value of that!!??!! (they must have had staff cuts recently, or have learned one of the secrets of this place and want to attract good comments– or just have other people do the work for them)

  7. suz says:

I recall reading early on that Lee told his folks he was not going to take the poly and neither should they. Maybe someone here has a source for that…I don’t offhand, but will look.

I can confirm that from an inside source.

  8. mdg says:

After a brief look at these new documents ( where’s part 2?)it doesn’t seem to me that Jesse Grund is anyone for the defense to try to set up as thier suspect. In these pages, he’s an earnest young officer doing a pretty damn good job of learning his new profession- in fact, his training officer commends him for making correct assestments and maintaining control of situations; he also notes that Jesse is hardest on himself for mistakes he makes, accepts criticism and takes correction.
I guess I’m still aghast at the notion the defense will try to besmirch this young man. I’m so sorry for him. The day he met Casey changed his whole life forever.

And then we have the dispicable Anthony clan; liars, cheats and enablers, every one. I don’t know, I keep hoping at least one of them, George or Lee, will man up and just tell the truth. I guess a girl can dream…

  9. Celeste B. says:

Blink, I also want to say thanks to you very much. The other forum where the case is discussed alot is SUCH A PAIN. There is so much police-ing of their weird rules I can’t take it anymore! NO ONE is “allowed” to discuss the appearance of Cindy etc etc etc. You are not “allowed” to ask a question unless it is in the allowable thread. The threads get to be pages and pages long so any question you have that is “properly” asked is often lost. I just wanted to compliment you that you allow the poster to use their own intelligence and to speak their own mind. HOW REFRESHING. BTW, Cindy blonded her hair more.
    lol

westsidehudson made a great point on the prior blog before this one in regards to immunity made sense to me….Blink is tis how you see things in this case in regards to imunity?

    Comment by westsidehudson — July 30, 2009 @ 8:05 am
    use immunity

:immunity granted to a witness in a criminal case that prevents the use of the witness’s compelled testimony against that witness in a criminal prosecution Transactional and use immunity are granted to preserve the constitutional protection against self-incrimination. The states grant either form of this immunity, while the federal government grants only use immunity. A witness with use immunity may still be prosecuted, but only based on evidence not gathered from the protected testimony.

  13. Kevin says:

LA was granted “Use Immunity” or “Limited Immunity”, which in Florida is automatically granted with a state’s witness subpoena for deposition.

All it means is the state cannot use anything he says during the depo against him, but he could still be charded with a crime with other evidence. Also, if he lies under oath, the immunity will cease.

  14. cindeefromwisconsin says:

Thank you Dee and Kevin….in a backwards sort of way I kind of thought that but couldn’t put it all together upstairs.

Lp suspected george was trying to set tracy up for something found on the computer. Here is the link http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0811/26/ng.01.html

Blink — in CA’s interview of 6-12-08 she said that KC told her that Juliette stopped by the house on I think July 3 (when CA went to Universal to see Caylee) and picked up Caylee’s teddy bear and some clothes for KC. Do we know what happened to this teddy bear? Obviously CA noticed it was missing. Why did KC take it and where did it go? Has it surfaced anywhere?
Not following, your date is wrong.

  20. Brenda in Virginia says:

Wonder how much Casey told Lee in the beginning stages of this. I may have missed it along the way, but what was it that Lee said to Casey in the cell conversation they had one night Casey was at a bar? What did he say or what could she have told him that would have caused her such an emotional reaction she wanted to leave? That’s not Casey…leaving a party. Wasn’t this about mid-way during the time Caylee was last seen and Cindy confronted Casey in person with Amy in tow? I cannot remember if they met….and if so what did they exchange besides words???

  21. Legal Advocate says:

    Blink or Anyone

What were the terms in exchange for immunity? Do you or anyone know if “limited” or “use immunity” was offered?

Last year when Lee lawyered up, his attorney Luka proffered the deal, iirc Luka stated he got the deal. Now if he were offered
limited(incidentally, I think it was USE IMMUNITY) that would be two different animals. Thanks for information, when you find it.

  22. Steadychick says:

Re: #20 — Sorry Blink, it was actually the CA transcript of 8-1-08, page 7867, http://www.wesh.com/download/2009/0730/20224513.pdf

  23. Legal Advocate says:

Okay read back a few posts, and see where a few commented on this topic, but I’m still confused? So is this a separate issue for tomorrow deposition? Or would the one stated in discovery from 2008 applies?

  24. Oblio says:

Hi all, new to this site, great work and discussions here. A quick question, sorry if it shows my ignorance, but there was an arrest report and record for a Travis Nichols. Does anyone know what relation he has to the case?

  25. Oblio says:

Never mind, I found that he claimed to have spoken to Casey in jail and she told him her boyfriend had Caylee.

  26. Kleat says:

Post 24, you are confusing the cases. No depositions were taken from the Anthony’s in 2008 in the murder case.

  27. dee says:

    Oblio #26

where did you read that????? iteresting…….. NOT……… another story by “Mother Goose” CA who would have thunk it…the lies the lies, she needs her mouth washed out with soap that is what we use to get in our younger years…

Post 25, Oblio, do a search for a news report with a video interview by this guy. Easy to find the video and info.

  29. Shaye says:

This was strange to me, Jose Baez gave a brown bag to FBI Agent, Nick Savage that contained an Umbilical Cord and other items, toys, etc….I have never heard of anyone saving an Umbilical Cord! Do people save those things?

  30. Joan (Canada) says:

I just watched a video of Baez speaking last night after Cindy’s depo.
He keeps saying Brad should be talking to reporters, but there’s only him. Please read this as towards the end they discuss Cindy’s involvement in the death of Caylee. I dont’ know how to post the video here. It came close. “She’s a loose cannon, and you have to rein her in and get her testimony very concise. You want to advance your case using her,” defense attorney Richard Hornsby said.

  31. Shaye says:

Blink, I read Richard Grunds statement about the cell phone that Jesse let Casey borrow for 30 days but she never returned it….is this the same cell phone that Casey claims she lost? This is the 1st I’ve heard about Jesse “loaning” Casey a phone…something else to use to implicate Jesse?

  32. dddeerma says:

So, am I understanding right: anyone who testifies in court has a limited immunity to prosecution? Why then are they making such a big deal out of this depo by Lee? I did think it was interesting earlier when his attorney requested immunity, but LE said he didn’t need it.

  33. Norm says:

can someone answer my question: I read the article on Wesh about how Baez’s team took things from the house belonging to Caylee 12 to be excact and didn’t notify L.E. or F.B.I..can you do that? they said they needed it for DNA becouse the F.B.I was looking into testing things for DNA…then turned them over in december…should they have reported what they did?

First of all I would like to thank Blink !!
for the fabulous job she does in keeping us well informed and updated on this case. This is the best site on the web.

Cindy anthony (DOES NOT CARE) who she points the finger at in order to spare her daughter! I viewed the interview with Jesse Grund’s father! my heart goes out to him and his family! for having ever known the evil likes of casey and her family.

Thank you kleat, silverspur, maura, boo,Dee!! and all other poster’s that take time to read and present their comments in such a timely manor , in laymens terms for us all to understand.
For me it’s difficult to sort through all the materials and keeping up with this blog is work enough. I meainly just lurk!
But I just wanted to thank all of you that lay the foundation for us to read.

    My prayer is that:

The prosecution will be able to trip all three of the anthony’s in their lies. There’s no way a person even with the best of notes!! can retain all that information and keep it straight. No way!! they just arent that smart. you almost have to have a photographic memory and we all know thats not the case here. Cindy carries her lil recording machine and lots of paper to document. she just isnt that smart! none of em are!!!

AGAIN THANKS BLINK AND ALL YOU POSTER’S FOR WHAT YOU BRING TO US DAILY!!

    GOD BLESS
    CHICA

thank you thank you thank you!!

  38. Kleat says:

Blink, I am baffled about page two and three of the contents of the ‘OSCO Statement’ by Detective Eric Ameye of the Orlando PD. Confusion not so much about the strange contents of this ‘tip’ but about the actions of George Anthony, including his choice of PD contact given the date and why, and the last sentence, which makes you wonder why George made the call in the first place– really, ‘why bother’?

The statement at the WESH link given above, “Part 11″, pages 2-3. These points make the whole thing seem a bit absurd, especially for George, past police officer.

    1. George Anthony had, by this date, already spoken to investigators with the OSCO and also to the FBI yet did not call those investigators.

    2. George used a business card he got ‘several months’ prior, from a ‘previous contact’ (what circumstances- work or family related, and if family related, was it Casey or Caylee related?).

3, George called this Detective Eric Ameye and left a voicemail (WHAT??????– voicemail about a toddler held by armed suspects in a specific location??)

    4. Why such a round-about way for a very serious kidnapping tip that needed to be checked out immediately for either action or explanation? (tipster calls the Anthony’s, the tipster then contacts a specific detective, the same detective that George Anthony has a card for from some past contact, not anyone George spoke with on the case as the reason given for choice of the detective to call. And George then calls the same detective about the tipster, leaves a ‘voicemail’ rather than speaking directly about a possible critical threat to the baby, to someone at the OSCO, or the FBI. (you’d think those numbers and names would be written in big letters next to the Anthony home phone, and plugged right into the memory of all the Anthony cell phones, for emergency purposes).

    5. Why would George say a PI was looking for Caylee because he ‘thought the PI had contacted the family attorney and was working for him’. (family attorney>>>??? if ‘family’ attorney, why wouldn’t George of all people, know the PI’s full name and even qualifications, to work to find his granddaughter?)

    6. George then says he was ‘aware of the given location of Caylee as provided’ by the tipster, but then (and this gets better) George ‘was unsure if he would give that info to OSCO’.

George was conveniently setting up a ‘bad guys done this’ scenario. Later George would ask Casey in the jail video, if she had done something to someone who might have taken Caylee.

Can anyone see the ‘drug dealers/bad guys’ did this defense? No ID’s, that was the failure of the ZG did it story from Casey, as they found a ‘real’ ZG and that can’t be used. They need obscure ‘no-name brand bad guys’ who could be bad enough to kill Caylee for some mistake Casey made.

Worked for OJ– mystery kidnappers, mystery killers, can’t disprove it happened.

George’s behaviour is astounding. The ‘Jesse, Amy and/or ‘Rico Morales…Gonzalez’ did it can’t work, but it does allow speculation in the jury pool and allow the defense a bit of a red herring/distraction to the real ‘phantom’ bad guys who might become known as the ‘J. Blanchard Park’ Gang.

  41. Kleat says:

R.L.Haley, today WFTV has a good long video about the evidence etc by legal analyst Bill Schaeffer and that will put the Grund issues and other things into perspective for you.

Autumn, I expect that Pt 2 will come later on, there’s a lot here to keep people busy for a time (Grund issues aside and should be forgotten).

  42. boo says:

#31 chica. You are welcome. Here is my tip for you chica. It has helped me understand this case tremendously.when you are reviewing interviews, depos fbi and OCSO taped interviews, don’t pay attention to the anthonys or what they say, just listen to the questions being asked, LE, FBI and the M&M lawyers are seeking justice for caylee, they know what they are doing. Also take notes when BLINK resonds to a poster, she has real insight into this case. Kleat and maura provide excellent research links. Silver breaks down the defense strategy in a way that assures me that caylee will have justice.

  43. boo says:

Chica when blink writes an article or drops a clue in comments, I go running off to research it. I have learned and discovered so much that way.

    LMAO….Kleat, your awesome!!

  45. Oneshot says:

kleat, I’ve been saying all along that it’s the “orange county latina babysitter kidnapping gang” operating — it’s reassuring that you’re jumping on (my) bandwagon…it was getting lonely there! taken overall, with all the tips LE chased down meantime Cindy was going to msm complaining that “they’re not taking tips, they’re just trying to frame my daughter”, & KC was wailing from jail, “no one listens to me – LE isn’t tracking tips, they’re just trying to frame me”…it shows definitively how pathologically & synchronized their lies are…like a malignant/explosive/covetous psychopath choreography that defines their push-pull dynamic.

  46. dee says:

does anyone know if Jesse Grund is considering a Defamation (?) Lawsuit maybe that would stop the Anthony’s in their tracks.

  47. Kleat says:

UMBILICAL– comments out there seem to suggest an actual flesh and blood ‘umbilical cord’, as if keeping one in your home is a possible thing to do for any practical reason!

I have another suggestion for a toddler, perfect for a 2 year old– what about shopping for one at Target, Casey’s ‘fav’ place to shop: (Monkey theme too– the illusive ‘monkey’ backpack perhaps??)

    http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/07/15/34/53/0007153453845_AV_500X500.jpg

That’s the item, here’s the options at Target for the same ‘child harness/leash’ (aka ‘umbilical’???)

    http://www.target.com/Harnesses-Health-Safety-Baby/b/ref=sc_fe_l_2/189-6140926-0483714?ie=UTF8&node=1261962011

Could this be termed an ‘UMBILICAL’?? Seems reasonable to me.

  48. Kleat says:

and the Target product is an “Eddie Bauer” harness (unlike the Walmart version)– remember Caylee had an Eddie Bauer car seat in one of the vehicles.

  49. boo says:

#39 kleat. Part 11 2-3 confirms (for me) that kw contacted baez office in august and spoke to an investigator (dom casey)? about kw tipster of the location to caylees body. (In August, hmmmm) You know I do find it interesting that up to this point, none of the anthonys have tried to finger kw or rk or even kiomarie. Baez has tried to obtain kw cell records tho so I assume he will try use kw against the anthonys when the double cross begins. Interesting that cindy is being referred to as the loose cannon.
