Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Padilla Interviews Released Today

Orlando, FL– In the latest blow to the defense team dealt this week, The interview recordings of Leonard Padilla, Tracy Mclaughlin, Rob Dick  and bail bondsman Tony Padilla are set to be released today.

Padilla and his team met with Agent Nick Savage of the FBI and a member of the Orange County Sheriffs Office in their home town of Sacramento, California last Fall.

Lead Investigator Corporal Detective Yuri Melich was slated to make the trip to interview the bondsquad personally, but was injured the morning of his flight in a motorcycle accident.

Jose Baez and the defense team for Casey Anthony argued to keep the Padillas et al out of the witness box alleging their was an “agency” established between he and the group, which would render their testimony work product and privileged. Not only did Judge Stan Strickland say in open court that he had never seen such a motion; he denied it entirely.

Tony Padilla, through Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick, alleges that the agreement contained in the defense motion was not even the agreement signed by him in the first place. Ms. Burdick requested the originals of the agreement in question; it is unknown at this time if they have been turned over.

The recordings will be added to blinkoncrime.com as soon as they are available, please check back for updates.

Blink (or others)…someone on another blog just made a brief comment that the Anthonys were in Malibu for the holidays. Any truth to this, and if so, sounds really “Hollywood” to me. Movie, books, media etc…($$$)

It’s raining where I live…no parade! Happy Labor Day Blinkers!

Hard to listen to with all the background noise.
    **********************************************************************
Yes it was hard to listen to this audio-but I personally would not especially attribute the difficulty to the background noise!!
It is is obviously a genetic affliction-being so fond of your own voice especially when you have nothing of meaning to say!

  3. comment#42 that is something to think about as far as ABC paying for Casey’s lunch. these buzzards ought to be ashamed of themselves.anything to be the first to get an exclusive story about a slut who kills her own child. if I were ABC, I would steer clear of these people as far away from them as possible.Maybe they are also paying for her defense as well.this girl is crazy but not to the point to where she does not know right from wrong.also, her parents are knee deep in lying and covering up for her.and lets not forget Lee.and to keep adding to the mix Baez is a big time liar himself and he is helping to nail her coffin shut.

  4. Felicity says:

106: Clint: I think you need a person with a legal background to give you the answers you are seeking. Silver, being an atty., will happily answer your questions I’m sure. It’s always good to ask questions, and I have one for you. Don’t you think it a little odd that Casey waited 31 days before telling anyone that Caylee was missing? That she has yet to show any remorse over her dead baby? That she went to parties KNOWING her baby was “missing.” That she has every trait of a true sociopath. Her car was filled with the smell of decomp? hmmmmm Make you think, huh?

I really hope you will talk with Silver when she returns. As I said, I think it’s ALWAYS good to ask questions! Good for you! Happy Labor Day.

Suz #122 – very interesting, Cindy talks non-stop for longest time, making accusations and complaints, and when she finally lets Matt Irwin get a word in edgewise, he says something like: “…well… I’m here for Caylee…”. Very telling moment. Yes, duh, they were supposed to be looking for a missing child

    Ditto
You could almost hear the pen drop-Being completly honest it is this aspect of the Padilla crews statements that fascinates -it’s what we suspected Casey Anthony was like (as we watched her strut her stuff in front of the camera’s as she went to and from Baez’s office)We knew that She was in her element enjoying being in the full glare of the media-Anthony perceivd herself as someone akin to Paris Hilton, It was like a dream come true to her-a chance to act out her fantasies. Anthony saw herself as being the “story”, as being the “headline”-SHE loved and adored the attention-food & drink to her & She couldnt get enough-I think Anthony thiught that She would do the rounds of the TV talk shows not Cindy or George. I dont think she ever imagined that She woud be incarcerated again. I think Anthony thought she was invincible-believed in Baez’s hype-She would walk out of prison and act as if she was innocent-The Anthony arrogance and superiority complex kicked in and in her own mind she was home and dry-and ready to embark on her new celebrity lifestyle. Remember the fun & games-the hi five with Lee. The fascination of these audios is You see we knew it-We knew there was nothing going on behind the big round sun glasses-behind the crocidle tears-We knew that the Anthony household was tense & hostile to everybody, most especially LE, the media, the protesters. We knew what the Anthonys were like – We knew what Casey Anthony was like-and listening to Tracy McLaughlin’s & Rob Dicks accounts just confirms and astounds all at once. We knew it and yet it is still absolutely shocking to learn that Anthony really is such a horrible and pathetic excuse for a human being.

  7. truthiness says:

Responding to comment made by wpg regarding Caylee.s shoes. Her body was found and no shoes have been mentioned ever being found with her. Casey mentioned that when she talked to Caylee on the phone, “she was talking about a book and her shoes”. Was this possibly one of the items found in the yard on July 4th weekend by Cindy that tipped her off something happened to Caylee?

    Possible.

It is not the Prosecution; they are ready for trial.

  12. TallyHo says:

    Suz, #158

Very true – but the fact that Cindy made such an issue of it and it going mysteriously missing sure makes me think it really did have something to do with this. The only other reason I can think that they would have needed to get rid of it was if it had a false ID on it, and I guess that’s entirely possible too.

  13. westsidehudson says:

    #40 Kleat
Baez giving the 20/20 kidnap case documentary is also HUGE! How to act– demo’ing to Casey what happens if you don’t ‘act appropriately’.

The Anthonys certainly didn’t heed this advice. The more they talked, the more Casey looked guilty, and the more they looked complicit in the art of cover-up, and revisionist on citing history. The more the public didn’t like the entire family. And this can come into trial because Baez said all of this in front of others; no attorney /client privilege.

“And July 3rd– Rob Dick and his interview tape– ‘July 3′. Something happened on or by July 3rd… Rob thinks it may have been in a call to Cindy from Casey, and something Casey may have said. Blink thinks something was found in the backyard… on July 3rd. (thus yard revamping, next day IIRC)”

    Creepy….

“ABC paid 1/4 million for rights to photos”

I have to state here, knowing photographers intimately, that this rate for the rights to photos is astronomical and largely unheard of. In essence, as we all know, they were PAID for the INTERVIEW. How many families with missing or murdered child look for payment from the media? ( a real question, not snark)

    # 106-Clint /#74 Gypsy “Neither LP, Rob nor Tracy interviews showed any signs of a loving compassionate mother wanting to find her child..nor the grandparents trying to find the child.”

I put these 2 posts together because I think Gypsy was spot on with her assessment of what everyone can come away with; 31 days not calling police, and then after she was released from jail and has the opportunity to assist in looking for her daughter, she continues to show no real concern, and is enamored with the attention that she is getting. It goes back to motive and mindset.

    # 113-Kyrasmommy & Blink

We all have opinions. Some of ours are not favorable to the players involved. I say we can dish it out, and we can take it.

#117 Tra “according to Tracy interview Casey says Caylee is italian and Jesus is not Caylee’s father… interesting!”

I found this interesting, not simply because of the potential id of the father, but that she considers Caylee as something separate and different from herself. Obviously, whatever heritage Casey has, Caylee also has. It is a statement, to me, indicating that she doesn’t view Caylee as a part of her. At any rate, it is silly because Casey, herself, has italian ancestry.

    # 131-wpgmmouse- excellent post

Thank you to everyone who is trying to determine why there is a photo of that law office in evidence.

  14. suz says:

TallyHo, interesting. But how would anyone prove it was used for strangulation without matching marks on a neck, which of course we do not have? And how would cindy know that it was used that way? cuz maybe it had broken? (which is not ever mentioned)

I figure they could have planted it on someone, but then why would cindy keep yapping about having it in her possession on july 15?

I’m mystified by the lanyard’s significance, i must say, even after re-reading Blink’s nice green piece. though maybe Blink is saying it will have sean daly’s prints on it?

  15. truthiness says:

btw-orlandoan :) you mean Tommie for #103 question about the prosecution stalling,
my question #104 – is the state going to release the fingerprint proof and
Will the prosecution entertain a plea deal with so much solid evidence???

  16. KutiePie says:

The Padilla Team interviews are something else. No wonder Baez tried to get them “86′d”! I’m almost halfway through reading the posts so far, and haven’t seen the question asked yet, and I apologize if I am duplicating efforts here, but I am anxious to find out if anyone (B?) knows where media obtained the new photos of Caylee and who and how much big bucks were paid/made this time around? I understand there is a defense that needs to be paid, but at what expense? Personally, I’ll have a sh*t fit if it was RJ Grund or Padilla or that Hoover guy again! Does anyone know about recent tranactions and has rules governing such pre-trial statutes been mentioned, more or less even abided?
B, thank you (& thank goodness for you!) for being the best read and resource available in the whole wide global web!!

    # 164-suz, Strange, below post, don’t you think? It could be coincidental or not:

    From my own post # 95…OrlandoEAST said…

“What they DON’T have: No Witnesses. No Video Tape. No Confession. No Motive.

    No Weapon……(huh??????)…..

No Fingerprints. No Soil match. No Drugs. No prior criminal record.”

I’m heading out again, will check in later. I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend, with some time outside!

  18. Jan says:

My 2 cents on Cindy’s interview is I think it’s mostly unproductive to give too much weight to whatever topic Cindy decides to babble on about on any given day. Her role (and the role of all 4 Anthonys) is to deflect attention away from the real issue by any means possible. They count on human nature and the politeness of their audience to allow them to change the direction of every interview and conversation away from important matters in the direction of convoluted, inconsequential minutiae.

I would imagine, had they known then what they know now, the authorities would not have been nearly so gentle and tolerant with Cindy, George and Lee during interviews. They were allowed to waste precious time and ramble incessantly, I think, because LE assumed they would get round to the subject of Caylee, the victim, eventually. Never happened. My guess is LE, today, would question the 3 of them much more directly and be much more assertive in keeping them “on topic.”

  19. Kleat says:

Something tiny caught my attention about Lee’s original LE interview as I relistened to part of it.

Lee tells about his arrival at the Anthony home, going in through the garage before his mother with his sister drove in. He tells LE about the odour in the car that he smelled for the first time. This doesn’t seem to be much when I read read what I’ve just written, but listening to what Lee said, while doing other things, not paying 100% attention only to the recording, the statement felt to me like Lee was almost emphasizing that he had never smelled the car’s odour before.

Nothing I can point to except that it seemed like he was doing a ‘Casey’– emphasizing something to make what he said more believable, and I wonder, if Lee had tracked Casey down, or somehow come into contact with the car and it’s horrid odour before.

Why would Lee want to emphasise this ‘fact’? Maybe to assure police, that all the while he was interrogating his sister almost in a huddle with her, (bit like a cop but note she does not tell him to get out of her house), that he was completely ignorant of ever having known to smell the odour of death in the past so he would not recognize death related to his sister’s car.

I’d guess that the video tapings of this family will reveal a lot to investigators about Lee’s controlling aspects of the family as alluded to by Rob Dick’s statements. We only really knew the part about Lee advising family not to give polygraphs.

  20. dddeerma says:

I was confused by the significance of the shamrock lanyard before and am still confused to this day. Thanks to those trying to clarify it. It is just another thing I hope I will understand before the dust clears and Casey disappears into the Florida Prison System. I have to admit, it had never occurred to me that she may have strangled that baby. Was a hyoid bone found? Although after animal predation, there wouldn’t be much evidence left, unless it was unbroken.

  21. suz says:

    dddeerma, no hyoid bone.

  22. Kleat says:

dddeerma, I ‘think’ the hyoid bone would be too soft to have broken, from what I’ve read here, and when I did a search for info about that. So would not have been telling. I’d also guess that for animal activity, that could have easily been destroyed and disappeared.

  23. Kleat says:

(too soft at 3 years of age)

  24. ChicagoJudy says:

From what I’ve read, no hyoid bone was located.

  25. KathyNY says:

Thanks Argentina and Truthiness, my computer also crashed on that site. I thought it was just me.

It also never occurred to me that Casey strangled Caylee. Now that photo of that little girl that was hanging from a noose they found on Casey’s computer seems more significant now.

  26. suz says:

westsidehudson, things that make you go hmmmmm…

  27. njsleuth says:

I am truly addicted to this site.
I find myself on this beuatiful Sunday afternoon wondering what the Anthony’s are doing now? Not so much wondering what they are doing but HOW are they actually able to do anything. They obviuously scour the internet, the blogs, the forums and must know they are looked upon with disgust by every clear thinking human being familiar with this case. If it were me I really think I would have not been able to continue. I would have probably died from grief and guilt that as a parent I did not do my job and as a grandparent I did not protect Caylee. How can they look at themselves in the mirror. How can they look at each other? I do think they are all insane. In the future whole chapters in psych texts will be devoted to the Anthony’s and the pathology behind their actions.

  28. Jan says:

njsleuth, #177 — have you considered the possibility of evil vs. insane? This family doesn’t fit any description of insanity I’m aware of. They appear riddled with personality orders, which don’t fall into the category of insanity. At the risk of sounding like a broken record (for those familiar with some of my other posts), I like “malignant narcissist” as a descriptive term for this group. They are the definition of M. Scott Peck’s People of the Lie. Evil.

  29. suz says:

Jan, you and M. Scott Peck could be right, but I really don’t see them as evil. I think the recipe for what we’re seeing is to take a dysfunctional family with a sociopathic daughter who somehow (whether accidentally or not) killed her own child, put them under a microscope, and crank the pressure 1 billion percent.

Or they could be evil, lol. But I prefer to see them as a cautionary tale for us fellow humans: don’t let this happen to you.

  30. Shelly says:

NjSleuth, Did you ever get into Second Life? We left you a message: http://forum.vrhacks.net/showthread.php?t=812&page=2

We are hoping to get a chat going tonite about Lee. A lot of us Blinkers have thoughts that the acorns might not have fallen in the right places in regard to the tree…if you get my meaning.

I have not left with a question in a while, so here’s my thought, just to mull around in response to your #177 last two sentences. It has been a deep one for me and one I have thought so much about after hearing the tapes.

Do we really want to see Casey sentenced to death. I deliberately did not put a question mark after that.

Hope to see ya in the cornfield soon :)

  31. dddeerma says:

Thanks for resolving the hyoid bone issue. And, I had forgotten the picture of the child hanging. I am sitting here with goose bumps. Maybe this is what happens when parents let their kids’ bad deeds just slide. Sometimes the slide into evil just keeps on going till someone innocent is dead.

  32. njsleuth says:

NjSleuth here. I am registered but I did not get a confirming email that I am a member though I could log in. I could not get to the “Private” sections as it says I am not authorized.
There is also a NYSleuth that you (Shelly) may have been directing your question to.

In any case, how do a get an invite and get to go on Second Life? I’m afraid my husband will think I am surely addicted if I tell him I have a “Second Life” and its the Casey Anthony case.

Thx for the link! Tony Padilla bailed Casey out twice! What a circus !
BTW, I hope LP’s interview helps but was strange to listen..Contrary to Nancy Grace “moments” when LP sounds focused and logical, here the thoughts are barely dragging with kinda of indiferrent tone and bunch of interruptions..
So,he bailed her twice , ha

  34. Thisbe says:

Did anyone catch the title of the song that Casey played for herself during her first arrest? I just re listened to the taped interview with Tracy McLaughlin. I couldnt catch what the title was. I wonder what the exact lyrics are and what this might say about her mind set.

    Anyone???

shelly the issue of dp is interesting,i earlier said i would, at that time, vote lwop, that was two weeks ago,i also said i dont have a solid stand on the dp, some cases, im all for it,but really it is a state issue ,its florida’s decision, and then the jurors,so i am staying out of it,but i am gonna pay close attention(i hope she pleads),cuz florida is different, and it has the spotlight,(someone called orlando the new bermuda triangle),and lyon is the supposed expert,so i am ready to revisit the dp issue via this case,(i think lethal injection=suicide, ala timothy mcveigh,is an angle i would like to see discussed somewhere).i dont think the dp should be lifted,i hope the state fights for it,if thats what they deem.

  36. susanm says:

ddeerma, the picture is of a stuffed animal bear(not child) that has been hung. interesting it suggest knowledge of this being a dp case,(i cant imagine being 22 and searching for images to match my situation, and relating to that art,22 and finding yourself knowing that your dp bound),your last two sentences and the dp question and suz’s cautionary tale tie into my panicattack everytime blink mentions the social message.

If you let me know what your Second Life names are we will invite you to the section Angela has set up with the Casey Anthony crime sites. We are Virtual Jurors and it is private, (to make sure we can discuss the case, visit the Anthony house; the Suburban Drive site; the Forensic Lab,ect. and have our privacy).

You will get 2 names at Second Life and we need both of them to add you. Angela along with Blink both have provided an excellent way for us to have inside looks at realistic things regarding the case. Making sure we are on a private, safe forum….keep in mind I have never even known that there were blogs, forums ect up. So, I was skeptic when I first went to the site. I cannot tell you how nice it is to relax with other wonderful people who all care for Caylee and this case.

    it through this time
    the edge of sorrow I
    lived in for some time
    (lived in for some time)
has left the hole I have inside

The burnin edge that drowned my hate
was the last thing I ever felt
    or thought I could escape

    I’m up
