Casey/Caylee Anthony Case: Prosecutors Release Anthony Family Depositions

Orlando, FL– In the latest bombshell in the case against Casey Anthony, late this afternoon prosecutors released the depositions of Anthony family members George, Cindy and Lee.

AnthonysCourt51909

In a highly unusual move, on the eve of what is arguably one of the most anticipated motion hearings to date, we will get a glimpse of exactly what the Anthony’s will be testifying to in the murder trial.

 George Interview Here

Lee Interview Here

Cindy Interview Part I Here

Cindy Interview Part II Here

Prosecutors were previously granted a motion to receive the grand jury testimony of George Anthony, as there were discrepencies between the testimony he gave in that proceeding, and his deposition.

Additionally, this Saturday October 17, CBS show 48 Hours Mystery is airing what appears to be the Anthony’s defending their daughter, and her defense team touting the latest “stranger danger” theory.

Blinkoncrime.com will be posting the transcripts as soon as they become available.

#254_Blink I’m glad that you have read everything. I started with Cindy cover to cover because it was the only thing that would load for me at the time. I guess everyone else was reading Lee’s and the page was snagged. Having read Cindy’s in one sitting like that, I don’t think that I could take on the rest. I started to read part of Lee’s and had a feeling about where it was going so I abandoned ship. I look forward to your next piece analyzing it all, and others’ comments instead.

I’m a little behind on reading the docs, had to sit in an 8 hr. driving class for a ticket- my 16 year old son loved that!!

Lee’s tetimony- he stated that Amy and Ricardo are heroin addicts. That seemed so wierd to me because I have worked man ears at a methadone clinic with heroin addicts and those 2 do not look like addicts to me. I never noticed any needle marks in arms, suckin faces, underweight, nodding off pics, or anything else that stood out in my mind. That is a harh statement to mak about them and I was surprised to see that on there. Marijuana and heroin are so far apart on drug scale. Anyone else think this was surprising?

I think before this is over John Morgan may have a new client or 2.

thanks, wpgmouse. I know it’s very easy (and understandably so) to be angry with the ants, but i think they’re in a really tough position. I ask myself what would i do if i felt the cops were railroading my daughter from day 1? then i kind of get where cindy is coming from. their lives are all effed up forever more, in a horribly public way that i doubt we can fathom. Is that punishment enough? I guess we’ll find out, lol. They might find themselves in some hot water. But you know, they’re doing what they gotta’ do.

I mean, you can look at Geo’s most recent deposition and roll your eyes (as I did endlessly, pausing only to slap myself on the forehead from time to time, nearly to the point of concussion) and perhaps want to yell LIAR at him when he talks about the morning of June 16, where NOW he feeds the kid breakfast, engages in chit chat, escorts them to the car, gives and gets a final “I love you”—-i don’t believe any of that happened, but he needs it to have happened that way for his own peace. he might even believe it at this point. It’s what he most wishes had happened on that last day, for closure. it’s a better story in his mind than, Look, I worked the evening shift, I got home late so i slept in, might have heard them eating breakfast, went to watch my tv shows and have some ‘me’ time, didn’t really pay attention when they left.

With much respect, I dont care what they need. Their daughter flung their granddaughter into a swamp where animals fed on her and she rotted in almost a mile radius. Apologies for the graphic, but admittedly I cant get past that reality. The dignity robbed of this baby is beyond cruel. To continue to see this go on is intolerable. Just because people can talk themselves into anything for money does not make them worthy of compassion. I started out like that, I got over it quickly.

sorry about all the mispelling, this stupid new computer.. I tend to miss the kes when I thought i hit them.. and i only seem to have a few minutes to put down what I am thinking before i’m bombarded by my 3 kids and every other kid in the neighborhood! lol

Also wanted to add after watching the 48 hours show, I walked away confused and so much sorrow for the A’s. How could they think she is still alive? why did the cremate the body instead of doing their own DNA tests??? That doesn’t make any sense. I thought all of Caylee’s things would still be there.. can’t imagine how hard that would be to get rid of all her little things and accept the fact she is gone..I hope I NEVER have to find out that feeling! It almost seems like Caylee is a ghost– they still see her and smell her. How hard and sad!! I know that denial is one part of the grieving process, but total denial of her even being deceased is so sad.. they need to move on in the 7 steps of greiving. I hope someday they do or their entire lives are going to be so difficult to deal with and so much depression. I know lots of people say so many things about them, but I just feel so much sorrow for them and I hope someday they do get their answers and can accept them for the truth.. that their own daughter did this horrible act and should have to pay her dues.

#285_ I respectfully disagree, The Anthonys never published the allegations. They were released through the Sunshine Law, so it’s not as if they were actively promoting this idea to the media, you know?

soulsister_ Is it possible that they ‘dabbled’ in heroine use (and got caught), or is it so addictive that use could never be recreational like marijuana?

  7. westsidehudson says:

    # 289_suz, It was interesting to watch body language, George puts his head down when discussing Casey, I’m no expert , but I think that is indicative of shame. So I don’t think that he believes those lies. When the Anthonys talk about Caylee, their posture is different, more relaxed; as well as their facial expressions. When you watch Cindy talk about Casey, her face is held stiff and she never blinks. It’s very telling.

  8. suz says:

Well, it wasn’t just a sympathy piece for the Ants (which obviously worked on me, lol, but then I have been sympathetic all along
because I have a hard time “otherizing” people—danged liberal arts education, curse you, Jesuits!) but also a good plug for that crime writer chick with the book coming out Nov 5 or whenever. Sheesh. She said 90% of the country followed this case in the beginning, but I think that number is a tad high. Almost none of my friends have heard of it at all.

I, too, was stunned to see that Cindy babysits someone’s daughter. Wow. That’s…remarkable.

And Morgan got a nice plug, too. I didn’t realize he was one of those tv “have you been injured?” guys but it makes sense that that’s how ZG would find him. But he seems like a good guy, and they’re asking for such reasonable damages for her, i don’t get why they won’t just cough up the money. What gives? The depositions in that case are destroying them. (They did show a moment or two of Cindy’s bad behavior during her gum chewing depo. Good times.)

    I KNEW I SMELLED BERKLEY..
lol, kidding. I dont begrudge her wanting to have a little girl in her life, that I actually understand.

  9. westsidehudson says:

I wanted to add to my last post that I believe that Cindy’s rigid expression appears to be her attempt at keeping a poker face. In other words, it looks like she is trying not to give any emotional cues as to how she feels while making statements. All my opinion though.

  10. suz says:

And thank God Geo (in his new depo) finally names the stupid show he claimed to have been watching—something about Diners and Drive-Ins, thankfully nothing I would watch. I have not been able to find a tv guide for that date and time (and the Food Channel only lists their primetime shows for June 16, 2008, not the daytime stuff) so I can’t tell you if he got the show right. I’ve tried all kinds of newspaper archives but the online stuff doesn’t seem to capture the tv listings. It’s maddening.

that is a great question.. Yu could be exactly right. You don’t always have to mainline but it is not an easy thing to ingest into stomache or up your nose. It seemed to me that they were tryng to say the employees and owners of Fusion were into the same thing.. they were all heroin dealers? Maybe.. anything is possible. But I was lookng at their pics and those 2 kids seemed healthy- no potch marks on face from picking (like meth users), sunkin in faces, bad teeth, — most young people that i have come across lately are into oxycottons. Heroin is a big time drug IMO. am a deadhead and have learned from past mistakes.. tried many things before becoming a drug counselor and I can thankfully say that was one drug I stayed the hel away from– cuz as u said way too addicting and so strong. Sorry for the long answer but u could be right.. if caught they would have a record.. in 1 pic of Casey and Caylee in Tony’s apt, Casey looks so stoned out of her mind! I would personally they they smoked pot and didnt dabble in that hard of a drug- wasn’t there others mentiond?

I thought Caylee called George PopPop … but George says she called him JoJo … Who then is PopPop?
Cindy and George know very well that Casey killed her child. Casey may even have told them it was an accident and she panicked. In the A’s minds they also may realize that Casey must pay for her neglect somehow, but not with the death penalty. They are throwing anything and everything out there to try and establish reasonable doubt.
Deny, deny, deny and when you just about give up and start to crumble under the weight, you deny again and eventually people will start to believe you,… as a matter of fact, they will start to believe themselves.
After that interview I am more convinced then ever that Casey will not admit her crime and cop a plea.
The tattoo is a trophy of sorts.

You know what was so telling last night on 48hrs? When Sindy said “This wasn’t Casey’s daughter- it was our daughter”. Ding Ding Ding- can you say partial motive?
When I was single mom- my mom watched my daughter while I worked long 12 to 14 hour shifts 3 to 4 days a week. They were like two peas in a pod LOL Anyway I got jealous at times at their closeness. Finally dawned on me how lucky my kiddo was to have that special bond. Mom passed years ago and we still laugh at the Jen/GG antics. I don’t think Casey was emotionally mature to see that picture and I don’t think Sindy would ever let them move out without a HUGE fight.

According to Dr. Henry Lee, the A’s did do their own DNA testing on Caylee. I assume Dr. Lee did it himself. But, is he not on the defense witness list???? What does their belief that Caylee is still alive say about Dr. Lee? Is Dr. Lee credible???

If Amy and Tony are heroin addicts, bad people with rap sheets, etc., why did they cooperate without attorneys? Annie had to have a lawyer. As usual the Anthony clan has everything in a backwards sort of way. These “bad people” all seemed to be working, getting college degrees and having good relationships with their parents. Fullsail, that Tony was going to, cost like $75,000.

Okay, so the “Blanchard Park” story and the “family is being threatened” story were initiated by Cindy/George/Lee (and probably Baez) while KC was in jail the first time. Am I getting that right?

I couldn’t resist watching the CBS program last night. One thing I thought was crazy was that Casey’s attorneys say that the tape was contimated by someone from the FBI but then there was also OTHER DNA on the tape not from the FBI, or anyone in the Anthony family. Where would they get that idea from?

    Not reading the reports correctly.
There are not 2 different profiles. There was a partial, which they amplified to get a full panel, and matched it to the tech. The BS statement about 2 seperate contaminations is BS. I hold every interviewer so far in the same regard-

Who is going to know the merits of this case well enough to conduct a proper interview with these people?

Diners and Drivers– never seen it. But I do recall George, in his Greta Susteren with his wife, sitting on their livingroom couch (wife’s hand on his leg), as he gets out the word ‘news’ almost completely before he switches to the food tv show idea. News would come on at noon, but would be specific to a date and time, the food tv shows would repeat and could have been watched on an earlier day or month, or seen after the fact to support the timeline. (IF George was watching noon news– which makes sense because he often worked afternoon/evening shifts, which means no news at the dinner hour, and on Father’s Day, we aren’t sure when he arrived home, and if he did, did he go on the couch and click on the news? Maybe not if there were an upset in the home, and maybe not, if someone else in the house was sleeping– maybe not typical to come home and watch the 11 pm news. (baby in house, wife going to work early am)

  31. Thisbe says:

Watched last night and it wasnt as bad as I imagined. The usual whining and alligator tears from the Anthonys. They seemed to have honed their talking points over the past months.

My husband (whose eyes just glaze over when I mention this case. I can see him turning down the Spousal Volume as if I am suggesting we quit our day jobs to sell vitamins, clean the garage or start walking to work etc) Anyhoo…..He watched intently and said….”She is guilty-everything else is just smoke and mirrors and putting off the inevitable jury trial and sentencing. No matter what these people think, she killed the child. They are living in an alternate universe and their are many bit players encouraging their denial.”

Thanks HUB for the usual succinct analysis.

I think that this whole show was created by the A’s and their minions for PR purposes. To attempt to at least “humanize” Casey and to soften the jury pool. They are trying to counter the DP charge by suggesting that there is all this “reasonable doubt” and making the state seem heavy handed in putting the death penalty on the table. What the defense is doing is the usual pre trial pub that is always done wherever there is a soap box and a camera. Its not even very original from a defense attorneys point of view. They got a blonde, a republican looking guy and a baffoon in three chairs puffed up saying Rush To Judgment, We Have Secrets, Surprise Witnesses, the Press is Bad, and that Awful Death Penalty.

Thanks for all the great posters here. I am a committed Blink follower and sometimes member of the Cornfield Bunch. #231 Thank you, Westside.

Cindy’s objective in calling 911 the first two times was to scare Casey. But when she discovered Caylee had been missing for 31 days, what we all heard in the third 911 call is the moment she put it together and knew something horrific had happened to her granddaughter. Was it full without-a-doubt knowledge? No, I don’t think so. But that third 911 call was the only moment of actual truth we’ve seen from Cindy throughout this tragedy. The reason she got there is because she was out of control in full blown crisis, and as is the case with all of us, what you get is pure form, as you cannot possibly edit your thoughts and words in that instant. And she’s been back-pedaling to distance herself from it ever since. It would be interesting to know what, if anything, the parents would have done differently on June 15. Like MsE #295, I believe the honest answer might be that Cindy would have never made that third 911 call.

I went back and listened to George’s 7/28 LE interview – that was his truthful moment. He was my hero of the day. We hear of strife and conflict in the family, history of Casey’s fraud and deception, and most chillingly, an honest account of his reaction upon finding that car. Though their depositions were not really a surprise, it was difficult to read their lies in written word. It reminds me of a wise saying from an unknown author:

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

The Anthony’s couldn’t be a better example of seeing this manifest in the worst possible way.

I’m very curious what has Baez in a spin here – are these Dom Casey’s notes?

  36. Kleat says:

Here’s a Q: At what point, does call a halt to the the defense and it’s ‘seeming’ lack of ability to produce a motion to dismiss without first, ‘fatal flaws’ and on second try, still woefully inadequate to pass muster?

This seems to have been successful in ‘delays’ and it’s hard to believe that a team of so many lawyers (Baez is NOT alone in his law office, not alone in his law office participation in this case, and both he and his firm ARE from Florida and have defended murder before) can mess up so badly for a young woman facing the dp. Are the ‘delay’ successes the goal here?

The defendant needs her defense team to write a proper and acceptable Motion to Dismiss, that’s a given. So why all the blundering– is it delays, will the next motion to dismiss be as unacceptable and will the judge give them another try, as he has done this past week? The defense, in it’s arguments, doesn’t seem to agree that there is anything wrong with their motion, or revamped motion avec minimal swearings.

Is this ‘strategic’? Like the ‘delays’ to supply the State with reciprocal agreement documents or facts? The defense says that it does not, in any way, shape or form, have to show it’s hand to anyone, but it was posturing these ‘we have proof’ from Equusearch supervisor or whomever so they wanted to put that defense out there, get the jury pool thinking they have ‘eye-witness proof’ the body was not there as some sort of defense ‘red herring’, which will go its way by trial time.

  37. Kleat says:

‘does the judge, call a halt…’ (is he going to just let them revise and attempt to get it right, time after time after time? If so, until when? The defense team are qualified lawyers, can they just play out inadequate motions from now to trial because of their hardheadedness with interpretation of Fla law statutes?)

Here’s a list of DDD episodes with ORIGINAL Airates including three with June 2008 dates on FoodTV network:

‘In the Family’ June 30, 2008 (too late)
‘Where the Locals Go’ June 23, 2008 (too late)

But– there was an original airdate for Father’s Day, June 15, 2008 for:

    “Comfort Food” June 15, 2008
Guy travels to Maryland, Texas and West Virginia to sample different comfort foods.

May 2008 and earlier are listed. Fancast has some, but not all full-episode videos, and of course, there’s availability on YouTube for clips and other sites could provide access to full episodes to watch after the fact.

FoodTV, IIRC (haven’t had it in a while now) repeats a show on a given date at various times. Could it be that George saw ‘Comfort Food’ on its original air date on June 15th? Or would the show have actually aired the following day? OR, would other earlier episodes repeat on some station in Orlando, on June 16th between 12:30 and 1 pm on that Monday in 2008?

BTW, where WAS George on June 15th, Father’s Day, if not with his family (besides at work). Cindy didn’t even remember it was Father’s Day as she brought her grandbaby to her own father for a visit– a great-grandfather is a ‘father’ too, so that seems to be a significant ‘miss’ for Cindy to acknowledge this man and to remind him he was a ‘father/greatgrandfather’ too, on what should be a special day for someone in a nursing home with his family. (this doesn’t fit– not thinking of Father’s Day– just doesn’t)

  43. RobinA says:

I watched the 48 hours program. However, it will be the last time I tune into that show. After this post, I’m going to their website to post my thoughts.

Interesting that Baez didn’t want to comment on KC’s party time pics. Rodriguez should have asked, “KC states she was out looking for her daughter during the 31 days she was missing. Here she is grinding with some other girl – was the babysitter hiding behind the stage?”

Cindy didn’t want to wash Caylee’s handprints off the mirror in their home, yet allows another child to play in Caylee’s room? I thought Cindy was on disability? How can she accept money for interviews while collecting? And she is also babysitting? I wouldn’t let her babysit my pet rock!

George stated he can feel Caylee’s spirit all around their home…. wait…I thought you believed Caylee was still alive?

Another thing, if Baez & Co. believe their client is “innocent” and they “know a stranger did it” why aren’t they releasing this information ASAP to get their client out of jail? Why agree to Judge Stickland’s deadline of Feb. 1?

  44. Kleat says:

Found a link for ‘Comfort Food’ Episode but says “Sorry, this video is unavailable.”

This could be, they suggest, a ‘network issue’ — so could someone in the states try this link please?

    http://www.fancast.com/tv/Diners,-Drive-ins-and-Dives/97569/875717631/Comfort-Food/videos

Might also be an ‘expired video’, in which case, maybe FoodTV has already removed it for some reason, time or perhaps ‘other reason’.

  46. Sdb says:

What the heck was Baez up to? Gathering all that DNA evidence. Were they going to plant evidence on other people ya think? He sure didn’t like them talking about it.
Can the state get that evidence back once it’s in his possession? Sure looks like interfering with an investigation to me.

Oh, and maybe Cindy needs to get on her hands and knees out there in the woods with the snakes and try to find Caylee’s remaining teeth. She is beyond despicable!

  47. Lynne C. says:

I have some observations and questions about what I read in all 3 depos. If George looked in Casey’s bedroom and could remember Caylee in bed but not remember if Casey was there or not, then why wouldn’t he have asked himself why Caylee was in there by herself? I think I for sure remember that senario. Or could this have been a common occurrence?
Lee says casey didn’t know spanish and Cindy said she took it in school and understood alot.
Lee says they were grounded and Cindy says she never had to ground them. George said when he drove the car home from the tow yard it was raining and Cindy said they hadn’t had rain in weeks.

Correct me if any of this is wrong, I am on overload with all the reading.

I have not read Geo’s state depo yet or sat down to do that, but I was able to immediately go to the right page and line for the Diner’s and Dives reference because there’s this really great word index included at the end.

I looked up ‘dive’ and found a single reference to ‘dives’, gave the page and line number, put the page number in the search box for the file, and the discussion came up. Nice, when you can’t do a word search in this form of the pdf.

Just read a bit following this food-tv show, and ended up with George talking about neighbours mentioning in chit chat that “people had gas cans taken from their cars around the neighborhood and stuff”.

I don’t know what people in Orlando do with their gas situation, given the state of emergency that can happen with evacuations for hurricanes etc, but typically, does it really make sense to carry ‘gas cans’ in your ‘car’ for ANY reason other than such an emergency, or specific reasons to transport a gas can from point A to point B– like to the boat, or to the gas station for a fill for a mower, etc?

And also, how would people get gas cans out of people’s cars, without ‘breaking in’ and maybe doing damage, to that car– popping a trunk without a key etc. If a neighbor were leaving a gas can in their open boat, or their pickup bed, that might be a safety issue if it’s a continual thing. Expect the gas to be stolen or worse, someone doing vandalism.

George didn’t say at that moment, that people found yard sheds or garages with gas cans or gas missing. Something doesn’t fit– whoever was stealing gas or gas from cans that people left out in the open in a vehicle, may have been from the neighbourhood– a kid or someone filling their own car’s tank from that can.

If Casey, for example, had stolen gas in cans from neighbours, she would have had a gas can for herself to carry around and not had to rely on Amy to buy one for her. If Casey had stolen the gas, returned the can empty, then maybe someone saw her do it, and that’s the reason George was put on notice about a gas thief in the area.

I wonder if LE spoke to these neighbors and determined if the story of the ‘gas thief’ were true, and if any of the cans were still around to investigate who might have taken them– whose prints might be on them.

How much gas would a Pontiac Sunfire, minimally need (assuming tuned up well, good tire air pressure- the basics, good driving skills and within speed limit) use to travel the distances on avg. that Casey drove around the city and on interstates?

Just how much gas would that Sunfire baby guzzle in an average ‘Casey driven’ month? Did any actual service garage ever do an oil change on the car or was there odometer mileage noted when she got new tires last– or did George and bf’s do it all so no notes on miles driven in a period of time?
