Morgan Harrington Case: Are Police Closing In?

Charlottesville, VA– Missing since the evening of October 17, 20 year old VT student Morgan Harrington had a vast circle of both friends and interests.
Could that circle be the key to where she is and what happened to her?
I have been reporting exclusively at blinkoncrime.com that we believe that Morgan Harrington was lured outside the John Paul Jones arena by someone she knew.
Dr. Harrington stated on Nancy Grace’s October 29th show that Morgan had been texting with a guy friend.
GRACE: That`s what I don`t understand. If she was just going to the bathroom, then why did she go outside the arena? Have they looked at her cell phone? Did anyone contact her and lure her out?
HARRINGTON: It does not appear there were other calls to Morgan during that period of time. There was some texting of Morgan to a young gentleman that she was friends with, but it was no one in Charlottesville. It was further away and so — but he`s not a suspect at all at this time.
GRACE: Right. So they were just probably texting about what, the concert, that she was at the concert, stuff like that?HARRINGTON: Yes.
GRACE: OK. And he was in a different city?
Not a suspect at this time? The only other person to communicate with Morgan Harrington at the time of her disappearance on the cell phone that is located the next morning without it’s battery, is not a suspect at this time?
I would agree with that classification then, but sources inside the investigation are saying this investigation is moving closer to the VT campus, as well as “The Noke”.

The Tiedye Guy, as he refers to himself, is well known throughout Morgans peer group. In fact, Morgan and many of her friends are also friends with Herndon on his myspace.
In addition to his roadshow vending business, he owns a store 
called Beandawg Art, in Rocky Mount, VA with his partner, Jeanelle Myers.
While researching Herndon’s many pastimes, it is clear that his newest endeavor, “body painting” is taking off.
According to Herndon, he was just in a Video shoot, doing the bodypainting of his bff, *Jeni*, the weekend of October 17 at the Motel 6 in Virginia Beach. He wants us all to know that, as a matter of fact, from his myspace:

Jeni, a Waynesboro, VA native, is an operating room nurse. She is the frequent subject of Herndon’s art ,apparently, and recent music video star.
She was not on Morgan’s myspace or her immediate friends but she did have one thing in common with her.
Jeni touts she works as a nurse for Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Morgan’s Father, Dr. Dan Harrington, is the Vice President for Academic Affairs for the Carilion Clinic.
Gil Harrington, Morgan’s Mom, is also an RN. By all accounts Dr. and Mrs. Harrington have a pristine reputation in their fields and as a solid family couple.

Mr. Henderson not only lives in the roundhouse, he lives on the road. Mylinda can be spotted at many a concert venue. 
Why do we care?
One of the most signficant quandries in Morgan’s disappearance is why, after every indication that she eagerly anticipated the Metallica concert, would she go outside the venue ?
Was it the ole back stage pass ruse? Who knows, but if it was, it would have to be pretty convincing in this author’s opinion.
There appears to be a circle of “friends” that run the gammut of screen printing, tie dye and bodypainting. All with access to talent.
Musical talent that is.

Wow — you HAVE been busy, Blink. When I heard NG discuss this on her show the other night with Dr. Harrington, it was his response as you posted above that got my attention : “There was some texting of Morgan to a young gentleman that she was friends with, but it was no one in Charlottesville. It was further away and so — but he`s not a suspect at all at this time.”
What threw me off were the words “young gentleman that she was friends with”. I was not expecting the “young gentleman” to resemble anywhere near what I now know him to look like. Not that appearances affect me….guess I have a different opinion of what “young” is. Also Dr. Harrington said in that same sentence: ….”was friends with”. Probably nothing, but I took it literally to mean that she no longer was. Guess I was listening too close.
You have done an excellent job bringing this information to us, as usual. Has his alibi checked out that you know of? I am not quite sitting on this fence yet

I cant say if his alibis checked out yet, but I can tell you there is about 10 motels closer to the beach than Motel 6.
I dont think this is who she was texting with at the concert, but I think he is “in the circle.”

This is one heck of a mystery Blink. I can not believe that anyone who might have an answer can let her parents suffer like this, whether its good or bad news. Its so very odd her cell phone was found with NO BATTERY ! That in it self tells yeah the mystery was NOT to be solved one wasy or another. I still believe her friends have a clue, they might not know it but nonetheless, they might have a clue. To see this surgical nurse on her myspace page is scary. My son is having surgery next month for removal of a steel bar in his chest and I will be thinking about the nurses in there. Holy moly! There wa once a saying that someone does not dissappear unless they want to. is it possible she felt smothered by her parents? Tired of school and the mundane everyday crap? Who knows. They need to start squeezing a few friends. This sounds all too intentional.I also have a 21 year old daughter. This age groups problem is nothing ever goes wrong life is rosey. A young woman is missing. Her family deserves answers and their beloved daughter, I would hope they would be more inclined to hiz-ate the person or persons who put them in this position. More than almost any case, I feel very strongly we are working against time and the elements here.

Comment to chitown lady and whoever: They are never safe. If our teens and young adults could listen to us for just a minute and realize we care for them and are doing what is right for them, we could protect them further. They want to turn their heads and not deal with real life and we want to drill safety and self defense down their throats. It’s like beating our heads against a brick wall. We get them through those years and then, like last week here in Central Florida, a 30 year old man kidnaps, rapes and murders a 19 year old girl. Both ends of the spectrum there. One family got their child through the ‘troubling’ years just to have him turn out to be a murderer. The other family has lost their beautiful child. Both family’s are devestated. What can we do?

So do we know if Morgan was in this video?
I can see this scenario:
Meet me at my van and I’ll paint your body. I know some of the crew of Metallica and they said you can go on stage painted like that. Meet me in the parking lot at “MyVan” before the show starts. I could see someone who is a huge fan falling for that in a heartbeat. *Not implying in any way the hippie is involved in her disappearance.*
There have been a lot of conflicting stories about who’s car they actually had at the concert. I have recently read that it was Morgan’s own car that they had there.(??)
The only way that it would make sense for her to leave the concert, leave her OWN car, leave her car keys with her friend, get a “kiss” goodbye, and say she would “get a ride from a friend”, is if she was intentionally meeting someone outside.
If her friends were all spending the night at one of their houses, Morgan probably intended to spend the night with a guy, and then meet them the next day at the friends house to get her car and go back to her parents house.
These girls are 20 years old. I’m sure this happens sometimes. And, it would be the ONLY reason why the girls would not question it, and would take Morgan’s car and drive home without her.
They didn’t realize that something was wrong until she did not show up the next day for her car. Supposedly, one of her friend’s drove the car back to her dad’s that afternoon, and that’s when he called police.
It sounds to me like the reason she tried to get back in was because the “guy” she was supposed to meet wasn’t there when she got outside.
I am guessing the reason he did not “show up” at that time was because there were too many people around. But,it seems he would HAVE to be in contact with her at some time during that night to tell her where to meet him.
I think he then told her to meet him at the RV parking lot. She went there, and again, he was not there (witnesses). So, maybe she did wander up on that bridge, wondering where he was. And, then, maybe she turned around and went back to the lot to wait for him.
Her friends may not know exactly who she was meeting that night, but, I’m sure they knew she was meeting someone. I’m also sure there would have to be something on her cell phone records. Of course, he could be using a throw away phone or a phone card which they would not be able to trace.
I don’t think she would be meeting the Tiedye guy with any plans to spend the night with him — but, possibly another “friend” connected to him (??)
And, also very possible he was connected to “bands” in some way that he told her he could get her backstage or something, and she believed him. Had to be someone who she at least “thought” she knew, in my opinion.
If this guy is not involved this could really hurt his business, I can understand why he is angry.
Hurt his business? He revamped his myspace since the story came out and posted that message on his page, which has not been made private or altered. If he is not involved I was considering sending him a bill for the ad.

Nice find, LE & Blink. Completely agree—Henderson not only in the circle- most likely could lead to the perp. He knows something or is involved somehow. Too creepy…if he is not the abductor- he knows who is ….actual perp is in the circle as Blink says…..
Encouraging news to hear that LE may be closing in. If Morgan was purposely lured away from venue then there goes the theory that perp could have been in Security or former LE? I really thought that is what it first sounded like. One never really knows I guess till more evidence and facts come forward.

O boy. I think Gale and Brian are egregious frauds. I am admittedly unobjective. I think psychics for the most part are charlatans and prey on people in their darkest hour and I would not mind giving a few a dark hour or 2 of my own.
That said, there are a HANDFUL (dont ask me who you know I dont name names) of deeply respected intuitives that work with different agencies of LE and go out of their way to not publicize their work.

On the alive thing- sadly, no, I do not think Morgan is alive. I pray for peace for her soul and that of her beloved family.
It is possible that she sustained a tbi when she fell and only appeared drunk/stoned but was actually confused and seeking help as she wandered. Poor dear.

As the parents of missing Morgan Harrington prepare to join the father of once-abducted but miraculously recovered Elizabeth Smart in a high profile afternoon press conference on November 4, new information suggests the injured 20-year-old Virginia Tech student’s efforts to regain entry to the John Paul Jones Arena after she somehow ended up outside during an October 17 Metallica concert were more intense than previously reported.
“She did make a few attempts to get back into the arena at different entrances,” says Virginia State Police spokesperson Corrinne Geller in an email, declining to elaborate on which entrances or exactly how many times she tried. Previously, police had confirmed only one attempt before Morgan spoke to a friend inside and reportedly told them she’d find her own way home.
In addition to that 8:48pm call, Geller says, police have thoroughly reviewed the phone’s history, including any texts. While Geller refused to elaborate on the number and source of texts sent or received, Morgan’s father, Dan Harrington, told national crime show anchor Nancy Grace that his daughter texted that night with a “young man” but that he was not in the Charlottesville area and was not considered a suspect. Morgan’s purse and battery-less phone were found Sunday morning, October 18, in the RV parking lot adjacent to the UVA track, where Morgan was seen, according to a police timeline, between 9:10 and 9:20pm the previous night. The phone’s battery, says Geller, has not been recovered.

I’ve read that the ticket window was still open when she was locked out, and we know she had a credit card (which was recovered with her purse), so I wonder why she didn’t try to buy a new ticket to get back in.

Some theories:
Clearly, this was a very pretty girl who has been pretty all her life. Pretty girls learn quickly that when they are in dire need of something, desperate, especially when they need to break the rules (such as getting back into the concert), one very effective option is to find someone with a little power (a pass or a promise of a re-entry to the building through another door, a back way, or a food vendor’s vehicle) and turn on the charm. She may have thought she was turning on the charm to get “in” and was instead lead to a remote area by a perp. This calls into question anyone who she might have reasonably thought could get her back in.
Second theory: What if there was no foul play? What if she was disoriented from the fall and confused and wandered off somewhere to find shelter in her confused illogical state and ended up dying from exposure somewhere? This happens far more often than abductions, though you wouldn’t know it by watching the news.
Third theory: Maybe she passed out from her injury (her fall) and whomever she was with thought she OD’ed and panicked and dumped her somewhere.
I hope these don’t offend anyone.

Why are they waiting until Friday – do they expect that possibly something could break open between now and then? How can a 20-year-old go missing in an arena FULL OF PEOPLE? This was someone she trusted in some form or fashion. Either because of a uniform/badge or because this person was connected to the network of the trusted. If she was highly intoxicated or whatever, would her friends really let her leave them by herself? I think this is the most remote possibility but its not totally impossible I guess.
Is there evidence that she had to remove the battery from her cell phone because it needed to be reset often? I know people have issues with their devices and have to do that to reset it until they can get it sorted out.

Blink, My Space logins can be changed to show any date you wish. My daughter has hers posted lastlogin October 31 1999. This *Jeni* could log in at any time or even be logged in at the same time you are and if she has it set up to hide her last sign in you would never know, just by looking at her page. Although, there is a way to access the correct time, I am not sure how this is done. I am sure if anyone would know JWG would.

What a curious twist in this case. I’ve never felt the urge to publicly deny killing or hurting one of my friends. What this man must be going through!

This article is speculation thrown together from comments and pictures from myspace pages. I’m sure we could take most anyone’s words out of context, throw in a few coincidental details and connect half of the country with thousands of crimes they aren’t involved with. I know James and Jeanelle personally. They are some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met and it makes me sad that people are so intent on finding a lead that they don’t think about the lives they affect with their meritless “theories”. They have nothing to do with Morgan’s disappearance. If you felt that you had a valid suspect – report them to LAW ENFORCEMENT. They are the professionals (unlike yourself) and they can handle things with discretion so as not to disrupt innocent peoples lives with false implications.

Wow, great sleuthing. Connections like this, in my mind, are no coincidence. Would be interesting to know what if any reprimands, confrontations, or encounters Ms Jeni has had with Dr. & Mrs Harrington.
One question that keeps popping up in my head (yeah it’s another dumb one, sorry): Has LE confirmed that the phone found sans battery is actually that of Morgan’s, and not one of the same make/model? Perhaps it could easily have been assumed to be Morgan’s because it was found with her purse, and was a similar make/model.
I ask this because the phone being ditched w/no battery just doesn’t add up (especially if your “perp could be LE” theory is correct). Maybe I’m just assuming too much about the perp. What I’m getting at is there is a high likelihood of Morgan and the perp having contact prior to the evening of the concert. If indeed the perp was trying to get her out of the concert via txt, then said perp would know the phone would contain irrefutable evidence leading right back to him/her. So then why leave such damning evidence that could essentially establish 1) Crime scene 2) Time crime occurred 3) Whom the perp may be (through txt & possibly prints).
So long question short…. Could the perp have left a distraction phone (one similar in make/model to Morgan’s) at the “crime scene” with her purse to basically throw off investigations just a little longer, and disposed of the real one later?
Also, is it known what condition the phone (and purse as well) was found in? Was it damaged, cracked, chipped, or scratched? If there was a scuffle, and Morgan tried to make call for help I could see the perp throwing it out the window as he/she sped off, and thus the impact causing the battery to detach. Such an impact would surely leave a mark versus being left somewhere for someone to later find.
This is so sad, and only adds my paranoia. I worry so much about the women in my life, and really don’t know what I would do if ever in this situation. Prayers are with the family.
You know, everyone thinks of a perp in this case, as a man. No one hates an exceptionally pretty woman like another woman. Just a thought.
Blink, I meant she could have PURCHASED a NEW ticket with her credit card, at the box office. That does not hinder readmittance. They don’t let you in with a stub or on your word because people’s friends pass them stubs to try to sneak them in wrongfully. A new ticket would 100% get you in, would it not?
You did not “discover” James. What you “discovered” was his response to the SAME unwarranted allegations of involvement from Morgan’s facebook group. What you are reporting is an OLD lead that has already been discussed and reported to law enforcement – over a week ago. James was tired of the negative (and again unwarranted) attention he was receiving so he addressed his whereabouts on his myspace page since so many people kept posting links to it. Again, if you felt that a lead was viable why wouldn’t you just report it to law enforcement so they can investigate instead of posting loosely speculative information on a website. No I don’t know Jeni. But if she is a friend of James I’m sure she shares the same positive and loving outlook on life that James and Jeanelle have. And yes, I am new to this site and after reading this article I’m so unimpressed that I don’t think I will be visiting again. Your words, not mine. You may claim that you aren’t making any accusations or judgments, however, the way you presented the pictures and comments that you copied and pasted from their myspace pages implies involvement. While it may be enough to get you out of a defamation lawsuit, it is not worded innocently enough to absolve you of any responsibility if either Jeni or James suffered any fall out or negative repercussions from what you are implying. To joke that you are considering “…sending [James] a bill for the ad.” is in ridiculously poor taste when you think about what type of disruption to his life you are causing.

Your kidding right? I think you may have skipped the meeting on free speach. Implications are subjective. Do you even know what defamation means? You cant defame someone by USING THEIR OWN PERSONAL FACTS AND INFO FROM A WEBSITE OF THEIR OWN. Like it or not, James put that “announcement” on his site. Had he not, I never would have LEGITIMATELY covered it. Now, I am going to go do a sun salutation and think peaceful thoughts about you for the rest of the day.

BTW–I think that Danielle is a pretty good writer and is naturally defensive of her friends. What she doesn’t understand is that we solve crimes here. No glory, just redemption.

I agree on Ms. Danielle and even understand it to a point. However, not ONE poster on here went “thats the guy”, draw your weapon and book ‘em danno. The readers of this site are highly intelligent reasonable people that know this is just part of an investigation, and a piece of a puzzle that warrants review.
I swear on all I hold dear and sacred, does anyone really believe I would rather be right than wrong in this type of casework? I would rather not get a sick pit in my gut that this budding young lady is a victim of someone not even in her zipcode of humanity and we are battling time and elements, like bionic sand in the hourglass.

@#41…Danielle- Nice to see a new poster on here. Perhaps you can come back when your emotions are in a better place?? Any time anything like this happens it is far reaching….the havoc it brings to all families and friends involved is really not a good thing. While that is great that you may be a friend of James’s….there has been no defamation here about him. Again, implications and comments on something he has already posted on his own public website is completely subjective and open to interpretation to the American Public now, not much you can do about that.
No one here is attempting to crucify anyone else… Gentle reminder only….this is not Webslueths you have ventured on to. If you have any information or other facts that may help solve this crime- you should want to help Morgan and her family as well as helping out James or any other friends involved that you may know.
KNOWLEDGE= POWER…don’t forget that. And, the truth in and of itself is such an amazing thing. Please help if you can. Do something positive if you have facts or other information to support your beliefs or what is just simply the REAL story as to what happened to this poor girl. If it happened to you— wouldn’t you want your friends or others to help you & your family in your time of need?

Blink’s article was spot on. Mr. Herndon, you wrote, “has a positive and loving outlook on life.” So I am sure he understands that in order to find the truth of what happened to Morgan, many of her innocent friends and acquaintance’s lives will continue to be disrupted.

Blink has said from the beginning that the answer may lie with Morgan’s circle of friends.
I’m sure Morgan’s being a friend of friend of yours you are part of the circle that is hoping for her safe return. If this article can keep Morgan’s story out there and may help bring a friend that is missing back into the circle, then there is no need to be defensive. I am sure Mr. Herndon sees the big picture.PEACE
