Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Plea Sans Adjudication In Court Today
Orlando, FL– By this afternoon, we could see Casey Marie Anthony convicted of up to 13 felony counts in the fraud trial scheduled for today at 1:30PM EST. Live Link
Over the last week, the legal wranglings, sentencing hypotheticals and LexisNexis databases where burning up the skype accounts of all the legal analysts in Or Lawn Do. I experienced it first-hand as I was in town last week:It was palpable.
According to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, the plea negotiations between the State and Jose Baez, defense counsel for Casey Anthony in this matter, broke down over the amount of felonies she would agree to plead to, and the matter of adjudication. WFTV analyst Bill Schaeffer does a nice job discussing the importance from a legal perspective, here.
The afternoon face off between Linda Drane Burdick, Jeff Ashton and the defense team for Casey Anthony is expected to seek Judge Stan Strickland’s ruling on her sentencing and the issue of withholding adjudication which is the anticipated position of her defense.
Simply stated, there is no basis given the known facts of the case to argue that Casey’s actions constituted a necessity, agreement from the wronged party or victim, or any as yet unknown to us allegations such as needing cash for the nanny or kidnapping ransom.
While the defense does have a strong argument to be made that Ms. Anthony is a first time offender and Judge Strickland has already indicated that he will treat her accordingly, I have a suggestion for the State.
I submit aquiring tacky white sunglasses through fraudulent, felonies means, using said stolen property to perpetuate further fraudulent activity, followed by wearing them to your attorney’s office after you have been arrested for same, constitutes a spree. Adjudicate at will.

Re Chica’s post # 36 above. Thanks for putting that up. Very interesting to hear just Casey’s voice for 10 minutes. And not one word of truthfulness in any of it! Not one word! Absolutely amazing! I especially love her comment that “if we could find that phone”, it would have the telephone numbers. I guess she thought that would really stump the cops, and they’d be out looking for a non-existant cell phone. What a piece of work she is.
If Jesus Ortiz was Caylee’s father – could his family bring a wrongful death suit against Casey? That would eat up her movie/book/interview profits.
My feeling is – that if he was the father – it was down right mean for Casey to keep Caylee from his family after his death.
Quick question anyone . . .(ok 2). . . Did LE or FBI subpoena Dominic Casey’s phone records for 11/15, 11/16?? Also, did they ever locate Ginnette Lucas and interivew her? I cannot find documents regarding details of either.
I know the family knows… who the daddy is. If it is JO, which it could be, it’s another example of the inner works of how this family operates. HUSH, HUSH, Let’s not tell a soul and keep this object of desire to ourselves. Unbelievable!

So Casey called Zenaida, Jeff H, Zenaida’s mom and Juliette the day she went to the saw grass apartments and couldn’t find Caylee and Zenaida. Does anyone have a link to Casey’s phone records and pings on that day? Has it already been discussed at length here?
She doesn’t even get upset when she’s describing Caylee’s features to the officers- I find that to be telling.
One other thing- She didn’t want to go home because she wasn’t sure what she’d say about where Caylee was…..why not? Why not just say she’s with Zanni? Didn’t the whole family know she was Caylee’s nanny? Her interviews alone are going to hang her.

CJ, thank you for the links, I appreciate it! I think he very well could be Caylee’s daddy. Very interesting IMO that there are pics of him in Miami and NY. Perhaps she never admitted to that he was Caylee’s father because he was spanish…we all know how much Cindy despises them, as if she has the right to hold any prejudice against anyone! Jesus’s poor family, if it turns out that he is the father, I hope the family sues and prevents any profiting of Caylee’s pics or money deals the scamfam may attempt.
Blink, I think Caylee would have benefited from Jesus being her father. I’ve wondered why Casey would never admit who the father was. I know she slept around and many people believed that she simply did not know who the father was. I think she did know it was Jesus, and as I stated, she didn’t want Cindy to know because he was spanish. If not for that, do you think that she would have let him be a part of Caylee’s life? IMO, no way….she didn’t want anyone loving Caylee more than her, and that’s possibly what would have happened, just like with Jesse G, she didn’t like the fact that Jesse loved Caylee more than her. She is sick in the head and could not distinguish love between a parent and child from the love two adults feel for each other…or she simply was in fact jealous of Caylee. Caylee stole the limelight and love away from her and put a damper on her night life. I can’t help but think since she was so infatuated with Tony L, and he stated he didn’t want any little girls because they were a lot of work, perhaps in her sick twisted mind Caylee was going to be a detriment to their relationship. In Casey’s mind, she was already dreaming of wedding bells, hence the piece of paper found in the car with Casey’s name spelled different ways as Tony’s wife. RubyRose, go search WFTV’s site for Ginette Lucas, you will find videos about that, one with audio of the station’s telephone interview with her all about her role in finding the baby. If law enforcement doesn’t have her contact info, it’s because they don’t want it. She’s very easy to find, even with her various names, it’s still all in the family. Besides, Cindy told Morgan and Morgan in her deposition, that she believed LE confirmed that it was her for sure, who was the one on the phone with Dom. C and that they checked phone records. So, obviously they have interviewed Ginette Lucas aka Ginette Matias (sp), etc.

News13 has a new story up, about their role in causing the defense team to file the new motion. Interesting, the story says “But the defense already has the documents’. The story explains that Mark NeJame told Tony Longo last week, “his office personally delivered those documents to the defense last year”.
I knew MNJ had something up his sleeve, yep, the defense is now eating the cheeze awaiting the SNAP! I sure hope that CFNews13 has a camera in the courtroom when this goes to argumentation in front of the judge, remembering Judge Strickland’s objections to Baez’s finger pointing and his hint to Baez that if he continued to ignore the judge and continued to point fingers, there would be finger pointing ‘in a moment’. That reveal will come in the next court hearing, “tune in next time to hear Judge Strickland say….”.

I mean no disrespect to the Ortiz family, but please, the “we were close, we would have known if he had “dated” Casey”. I have 3 boys, all in their late 20′s, and they have admitted to me now, that they slept with some pretty skanky girls in their early 20′s, cause the girls were so easy, and well… boys will be boys. I had thought I had raised them to be more respectful of women and themselves. They regret what they did, and they learned that “those” types of girls weren’t the types they wanted to date. But my point is, I am so close to my boys, to the point that my husband (who is not their father)is flustered by the subjects that we don’t find taboo.
If Jesus was with Casey he may have known her reputation, and although he decided he would enjoy the free “ride” it may have been something he wouldn’t want to admit to his parents in his early 20′s. I hope for the Ortiz’s, that they find out if Caylee was their granddaughter or not, so they can be at peace. And if Caylee is, that they sue the Anthony’s for everything they have.

JRube – I think you are right on money with Cindy not pursuing more aggressively Caylee’s father because of the fact that she feared he could be Hispanic. I think after the paternity test proved it wasn’t Jesse Cindy just dropped the subject for fear of just who Caylee’s daddy might be. Besides without proof, Cindy and Casey were free to create and lie to their hearts’ contents regarding the father.
Of note is I think Casey also chose Baez as her lawyer because he was Hispanic. Cindy was already pissed and I figured Casey took this opportunity to pick Baez as another jab for this awful pickle that Caylee had gotten her into.
Can someone explain what ‘Bond Discharged’ means? I assume it means that the bond no longer exists, in this case, the person charged appeared in court. Does this imply that there is no need for a continued bond, so can assume the trial is over and a decision reached in favor of defendant?

I think he is a kind hearted down to earth man. and yes had he been the lawyer for casey this would have been over and settled by now. Instead casey is represented by baez! whom we can see his lack of experience showing biggtime. He has alot to learn. You cant be a good attorney over night. Anyone recall Rick Plesea’s words on Caylee’s bio dad? I seem to recall that he said for anyone to think Haylee had a Hispanic dad was ridiculous. All you had to do was look at her to be relieved of that notion. I can’t recall whether he said this to Cindy or to LE. Anyone know?
OT, I don’t know if it has been confirmed, but Leonard Padilla has given Misty Croslin’s parents a car, according to HLN, today. Chica, thanks for this information. How did you find out the info on the trolls? Everyone who blogs about this case have all suspected this, the trolls have been working for the defense and the A’s attempting to create reasonable doubt. Is there anything that can be done to stop them, or prosecute them I should say, stopping them seems to be a daunting task.

Thank you for posting Jesus’s profile PA. I’ve seen it before but never assessed it with great detail. Now I feel like I just read someone’s diary. *thank GOD I don’t have a daughter* I went through every comment. No doubt, he was held in high regard by his peers. He must have had an infectious personality. How sad to die so young and tragically.
Wierd thought. In a strange way, he reminds me of Lee Anthony. Mild similariies in features. I can almost see why many felt Lee was the father of Caylee, although that was never my opinion. Not even for a na no second.
That being said, I see a strong resemblance between Jesus and Caylee. My only confusion comes from Caylee’s autopsy report. Did it not say the remains were of a Caucasian female (correct me if I’m wrong….I’m not finding much on my own)? Would they not have been able to determine any Latino characteristics (pardon me for my ignorance. I’m in Canada. I don’t mean to be disrespectful if I used Latino improperly). There must be something to indicate she had Latino in her dna?

It’s in one of the threads. If memory serves me correctly ( and someone please tell me if I’m in left field and uptown)….he has history of assault against children, allegedly.
