Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Plea Sans Adjudication In Court Today

Orlando, FL– By this afternoon, we could see Casey Marie Anthony convicted of up to 13 felony counts in the fraud trial scheduled for today at 1:30PM EST. Live Link

Casey-anthony-attorney-visit

Over the last week, the legal wranglings, sentencing hypotheticals and LexisNexis databases where burning up the skype accounts of all the legal analysts in Or Lawn Do. I experienced it first-hand as I was in town last week:It was palpable.

According to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, the plea negotiations between the State and Jose Baez, defense counsel for Casey Anthony in this matter, broke down over the amount of felonies she would agree to plead to, and the matter of adjudication.  WFTV analyst Bill Schaeffer does a nice job discussing the importance from a legal perspective, here.

The afternoon face off between Linda Drane Burdick, Jeff Ashton and the defense team for Casey Anthony is expected to seek Judge Stan Strickland’s ruling on her sentencing and the issue of withholding adjudication which is the anticipated position of her defense.

Simply stated, there is no basis given the known facts of the case to argue that Casey’s actions constituted a necessity, agreement from the wronged party or victim, or any as yet unknown to us allegations such as needing cash for the nanny or kidnapping ransom.

While the defense does have a strong argument to be made that Ms. Anthony is a first time offender and Judge Strickland has already indicated that he will treat her accordingly, I have a suggestion for the State.

Caseybofa

I submit aquiring tacky white sunglasses through fraudulent, felonies means, using said stolen property to perpetuate further fraudulent activity, followed by wearing them to your attorney’s office after you have been arrested for same, constitutes a spree.  Adjudicate at will.

Just did an attorney search for Macaluso and it shows this:
    Disciplinary and Related Actions
    4/26/2010 Ordered inactive 06-O-14552
In the past his status has been active and evaluation for ADP, now it is inactive and participation in ADP. Very interesting.

  2. Gilly says:

Sorry Blink. I should have said his status is active but ordered inactive as of 4/26/2010. I find that site really confusing obviously.
Hopefully someone can clear this up for me.

I have no way of knowing without requesting the hearing stipulation order. From what I can tell, no change in status.

#42 Chica…thanks! Do you know where I might find Cindy’s quote about Caylee’s Non-Hispanic ancestor? Also, was it Cindy or Lee who said the father was a friend of Lee’s who came down from up north somewhere and he and Casey “hooked up”. (I always think that expression describes weird coupling involving a block and tackle.) I wish I could find that reference to that friend from the north, too. The case is getting so old, and after a couple of computer crashes with lost links, the smaller tidbits of info is lost.

Also, those trolls of whom you speak were long ago on Topix. I used to read there in the beginning of the case and I finally had to stop going there because the whole comment section was devoted to proving insane things about all the Grunds. Finally, it seeme that these volatile Casey supporters were trying to dominate the board. I never posted, and just early on wrote that board off as full of trolls.

How do you think strangers from different states got hooked into Cindy’s web and are now the yuku tribe? Could they be relatives and friends from all parts of the country? I just know they have got to be some of those same posters on Topix from the beginning of the case.

It’s creepy. Those Topix posters were/are dangerous fruitcakes, heavily laced with nuts. I would like to call them evil, but some people get upset when that word is thrown around. “Sick” is the preferred nomanclature… in which case, “diseased” is my word choice.

There used to be a lot of Casey defenders on WS. Most of them have dropped out along the way with the discovery of Caylee’s body, but there’s still a couple who are supporting Casey with their theories saying “I’m not sure of Casey’s guilt, and just trying to get all the facts straight”.

Round and round go the people on that board honestly trying to set the Casey supporters straight on their “facts”. Wasted motions. IMO, these people ARE plenty up to date and trying to cause that ol’ reasonable doubt. They make the most nonsensical claims about Kronk, now, where they used to target Jesse and unknown crime lords!

Thinking of this trial more than a year away fills me with dread. “Justice delayed is justice denied.” (Who said that?)

Here’s something weird. I went to Jesus Ortiz’s myspace page. I viewed all of his friends. One of his friends is “Caylee is Missing” last logged on October 12, 2008. ?????

    Yep.

There’s more. I have said this 100 times and never changed my opinion since day one.
I do not believe Casey herself knew for sure, let alone dear Jesus or his family.

O and did I mention his dear friend Ryan Alex Green?

  6. jrube says:

Ragdoll, in regards to Jesus being Caylee’s possible father…I said recently that that could be why Casey never admitted who Caylee’s father was. It would have made Rosebud blow a gasket if she found out that he was her father…I cannot stand prejudice people like her. We are all equal! I wonder if Cindy had known would she have accepted little Caylee?

  7. ada says:

Blink, I’ve been searching but can’t find out much about Ryan Alex Green. Somewhere in google it said that Casey spoke to him in mid June 2008. Somewhere else it said he is a friend on the Zenaida page. Any hints? I have a vague recollection of his name being mentioned here before but I am over 50 so….

  8. Kleat says:

Blink, one Baez action in regards to the ‘who is Caylee’s father’ question, has always stuck out for me. If Caylee’s father were an unknown, or the name given to her family by Casey happened to be of another ficticious person, then why would Casey’s lawyer make such an obvious gesture to clap hand to mouth and rub his chin instead, at the very moment Geraldo was asking Cindy ‘who is the father’?

It would be interesting to know what the Anthony family really told friends and family and whether their stories were consistent at all, from the time Caylee was born to the time she went missing. They claimed not to know about Jose Ortiz (Cindy media after Caylee missing), Lee of course, said he knows because Casey told him, and that there was no way they would share the knowledge of Caylee’s existence with that family.

WHY would a defense lawyer essentially tell Cindy by a gesture ‘zip it!! ‘ when she was asked about the child’s father if the father was a complete unknown? There had to be a reason that Jose did not want Cindy to say anything, or say the wrong thing. Makes no sense when he was in another interview around the time, to say he was convinced the child was alive– if the father was to be kept secret, he would be the first to want that person investigated, or the father’s family members, investigated.

Makes no sense, unless Jose was protecting something for future defense purposes and knew the child was not in danger from this person or family of this person.

(interview I’ve referred to was Cindy with Baez on Geraldo in summer ’08– the one where Cindy got beet red and blasted Geraldo to ‘act like my friend’)

You have answered your own question my friend. For defensive purposes.

  9. Kleat says:

June 20, 2008, four days after Caylee removed from her home by her mother, 1:16 pm, Casey attempts to call Alex Ryan Green.

Now, when there’s time, will search Valhall’s fancy timeline documents to see if there is more. Maybe Val and Maura have some details over at the hinkymeter that improve on what I gleaned with a quick and dirty google search. Question would be, what does ‘attempt’ mean, was there enough time on the call to suggest a voice message, for example. Was the call repeated.

  10. Kleat says:

(BTW, Blink, yes, you did mention Ryan A. Green!! Just now, or I missed it before… THANKS!)

I commented that my two of my children do not look hispanic whatsoever while the other two do. So I think sometimes that its not noticable and I do not think that that it can be determined for sure if caylee had hispanic blood especialy now.
Not to worry no question is dumb we ask because we dont know. I too at times post and think hmmm but its ok we learn from others.

Lol. Chica I NEVER put any stock in the “who kids look like”.. I am a Swede. Blink Jr, who looks exactly like Dad, has dark hair, dark eyes and darker skin tone. Dad is of German descent. Blinkette looks like me.

When he was little, I used to call him my little Cuban in the Summer when he would get so tan except for his bum ( Mommy moment, pausing and smiling). One day Blink Jr. and Blinkette were in the car when Blinkette said to Blink Jr:

“..Blink Jr, you are too skinny and you never like to eat, it is bad for you..”

Blink Jr. responds.. “Blinkette, you dont know what your talking about. All Cubans are skinny..”

Point is, they can look like anyone, of any descent, imo, at different times in their growth.

  14. chica says:

Ragdoll some of those posters at that forum ! whom are part of cindys crime stopper groups are most likely to be friends and I wonder how many she has left. Anyways they change names like I change chonies. I heard they double post and too could be some of baez’s friends family because that group was set forth to get the dirty laundry and skeletons from peoples closets that did not agree with them. It just shows cindys evilness and lack of maturity !! she is way out of touch with reality like her daughter.

  15. Kleat says:

Yes, defensive purposes, but the best defense would be to reveal the kidnapper, if the client is indeed innocent, by having the father and his family (done wrong by keeping Caylee from them) known to police. Otherwise, Cindy was protecting the real perp and leaving her daughter in jail. Goes to the lawyer’s knowledge that the baby was not alive and that his client was involved– if they knew the father, that has to be the case.

  16. Leslee S. says:

Kleat & Blink, wouldn’t Baez want to keep Caylee’s father’s name a secret, also, because the father & his family could get into the $$$$ being made by Baez & the Anthonys?

    Yes, Exactly.
    Among other things.

Dear Blink what are you sprechen about? i don’t know this info help a girl out on the downlow if you can….eager ears!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Kleat says:

Leslie and Blink, yes, and if Caylee were alive and in the hands of someone other than Casey, as the defense and family fought so hard to argue, then the father’s family should be investigated in an effort to discover the whereabouts of Caylee to save her from harm and possible death.

The family’s decision to block any knowledge of the father or to not investigate, means they had no interest in clearing these ‘family’ members, as a normal course of an investigation. $$$ before the child’s life– but of course, if George or Cindy ever cared about their granddaughter, they could not do this without knowing confidently and without question, that Caylee was no longer alive. Finding the father’s family, who could want to take the child for their own, or to protect her from her situation with Casey, would be critical to saving the child, unless they knew otherwise.

New filings and a pretty good public f-f-whop up the side of Baez’s head by NeJame towards the end!

    Right?
    B

  22. Kleat says:

Love Mark NeJame’s response to the motion, not only did he respond, he prepared a road for Baez to back out– Baez did not take that route, and now Judge Strickland has been asked to take steps to have the waste of attorney’s time and court’s time, assessed against Baez. (oh, and that would be against Lyon also, her name was top of the two lawyers on the signature section)

Good work to Adam Longo too– he has supported Mr. NeJame’s position by advising Baez of the situation at Mr. NeJame’s request.

Love the good lawyering… what a treat (and a change from the ‘B-team’)

  23. Kleat says:

Dee, Jose Ortiz was an employee at an Orlando resort hotel (I can’t recall now– back a ways in comments on a previous thread but think it was at Universal resorts) at the time Casey worked there. Blink was saying that Casey called Ortiz’s friend, Ryan Green– I looked that up and yes, she did try to call him on June 20th, 2008. Casey was trying to reach many people in that same afternoon, why would she want to call this Ryan person, friend of Jose Ortiz? Was she trying to reach Ortiz’s family, lay some suspicion at their feet? ( and why, if so, because the family had nothing to do with Caylee– unless Blink is right, and Cindy is wrong).

Something hinky in this call attempt…

Marriott Grand Cypress, he was a doorman, while attending UCF, where he met his girlfriend, who was injured in his accident, but survived. Jesus was the BFF of Stephanie Kostakis.

Blink: This is in regards to the above post #19. I read that report and found this comment listed below that in the comment section. I found it very interesting.
Mr. Nejames is going to MOP THE FLOOR with Baez, and expect a good SMACKDOWN from Judge Strickland. Here’s the very latest from my excellent source in FLA:
    1. Dom Casey has indeed turned on the Anthonys because he was facing a heap of trouble himself! He is in protective custody and has begun spilling ALL the beans to SAO. He knew poor Caylee was dead and was told where to find her remains by Cindy (pillowtalk??!). Cindy has been the ringleader for a small band of deluded jerks who are on a campaign to spread reasonable doubt. There is a lot of illegal stuff going on with the ‘Team Caylee/Yuku’ group and they are going down. Cindy and George (who is very P.O.ed at his wife, btw) are desperate to negotiate a plea deal for themselves because there is probable cause for Obstruction of Justice charges!!
    2. Dom Casey also knows all about the (ahem) “inappropriate relationship” between Baez and Casey (yuk!) and SURPRISE there is SOMETHING on the jail tapes!!! Baez is going to removed as defense counsel and censured for unethical conduct.
All in all, it’s been a very interesting few days and look for the Baez and Anthony house of cards to come crashing down soon.

I looked at Jesus Ortiz’ myspace posts. The 2008 post must be from an old poster because back in May of 2007 there’s posts with that screen name Caylee is missing. And that’s BEFORE Caylee was missing.

  26. MarcyDancer says:

I really do think that obstruction of justice charges must be filed. If not it sends a message to everyone that apparently anything can be done to impede an investigation. Things have become so out of hand, enough is enough. When the trial, if there is one is over, charges should be filed. If not, I personally will loose a little more faith in our system.

  30. Sosad says:

I don’t know Cindee. That sounds like a cluster F of things. I am cynical in both directions. I think the state’s motion can’t possibly have to do with every one of those things listed.

But, who knows? As yet, it stands as rumor.

    Your thoughts Blink?

    # 11-BTW, our family looks like a bunch of people selected from the population and tossed together randomly. Like the mutts that we are, not one in the litter looks or acts the same.

  32. MJ says:

Sosad~ thanks for jogging my memory. When I was rereading a lot of the early stuff a couple of weeks ago, I saw that and thought it was odd that kc changed her mind about having her visit. Also thought it was odd because SK was not in the inner circle of friends at the moment.

The more we learn about Baez, it seems like he thinks that his atty. status gives him a cloak to provide not only alternate suspects but to manufacture circumstances and ‘facts’ to support it, even if it’s for show. It’s as if he picks a person to accuse, sets about manipulating things, encourages cindy to participate, knowing full well that she has no qualms about publicly adding insults and innuendo.
He uses a street thug mentality while practicing law, he seems to have no fear of consequences. What a crazy mess, Caylee has been relegated to the last seat on the bus because of all of them. This is supposed to be about her, if GA & CA had not jumped into this with guns blazing….it’s been a tough week for bad guys, paulus VDS dying, a POI in Somer’s case, I still have hope that Fri. can bring a BG (or two) down in this case and Morgan’s, the week’s not over yet

  34. Kleat says:

The defense appears to be preparing for a ‘considerable amount of litigation’ in the dispute with Oakridge Labs in their demands for information that this entity is as yet, unwilling to provide. It appears that this information will have no direct link to Caylee Anthony case testing, but goes to credibility of the lab. Is the defense capable of discrediting the labs by impling poor procedure or failures in their methods, standards, personel?

Will the state take on the costs, including risks of awards to Oakridge for costs, of any ‘considerable amount of litigation’ on behalf of Casey Anthony if she once again declares indigent status?

Claudia, yes indeed, there are two motions filed by the defense, here’s the second one to object to the ex parte hearing. Predictably, the defense is citing the ex parte motions that were denied to them in the past, seems Baez works on tit for tat, rather than each motion on it’s own merits.
