I am saddened by the news, but hope that this brings closure and the evidence we need to find who did this. She was such a beautiful person, from the moment I heard of her missing I could not forget about Morgan. The more I read about her and her family the more my heart ached for them. No one deserves this loss and pain. Why? I will never understand.

  2. SCHokie says:

This time is so critical for everyone to watch individuals around them for unusual behavior and report it to LE. My heart breaks that this is likely Morgan but I am determined that the person responsible for this heinous crime be identified and brought to justice. IMO this is the time signs of guilt will be evident.

  3. Christy S. says:

Dr Harrington, Mrs Harrington, Alex, family and friends you have my deepest sympathy. May you and Morgan find peace and may whoever did this to your beautiful daughter be swiftly caught and punished.

    Dear Blink,
Thank you for making this site a caring, safe and respectful place where we can exchange ideas, investigate possibilities and feel that we have been able to help Morgan in some tiny way. Without your gentle direction it would not be possible. Keep up the good work.

  4. shyloh says:

I am glad they found her. Just not this way. Blessings to all the family and you Blink for keeping us up to date.

  5. Mom3.0 says:

    Enquirer,
I was just thinking about that. What led you to think of it?

Liam Fahy, Can you elaborate please I can not see what you are seeing on FB.

Is this farm close enough for Morgan to have walked and got lost?

Where could she have been trying to go?

My sympathies, again to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Harringtons.

Fire In North Garden Destroys House
    Posted: Jan 26, 2010 11:15 AM EST
    Updated: Jan 26, 2010 11:16 AM EST
An early morning fire destroyed an Albemarle County home on Sutherland Road just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews from the North Garden, Crozet and Charlottesville fire departments battled the blaze for several hours. Four college students were in the home when the fire started but all were able to get out safely.

Right now, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“It’s a total loss,” said Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Pugh. “Approximately one third is still standing. The outer walls and the remainder are still standing, but the interior is completely gutted.”

The students living in the home were renting the property and they planned on moving out next week. All of them have places to stay.

Very fishy to me that the house bruned down right before they moved. I’d love to know who they are.

My heart and prayers go out to family and loved ones of Morgan. At least the parents can begin the healing process and hopefully be a voice of reason to other young girls to be very careful in this world where there seems to be alot of evil people. Hope they can find the person(s) who did this awful crime. Blink, please stay on this case and let us know of all POI.

So saddened by this news. Peace and strength to the Harrington family. Rest in peace, sweet beautiful Morgan, your parents are coming to bring you home. Gods loving grace to the Harrington family during this time.

  10. AtotheK says:

All the air was sucked out of my lungs as I saw the news. Numb. Sad. I hoped for a better outcome…however this does bring SOME closure for Morgan and her family and friends.
It’s so bittersweet. As shocked I am to hear the news, I am glad someone has finally found her.
Now the wondering of where she may be is over.
Now she can have a proper burial.
Now we have to focus on WHO did this to her.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
    241 Morgan.

  11. rvrb says:

Cvillegirl’s handy link let’s you see property boundaries as well. Just switch from “satellite” to “map” buttons. The owners of the big farm also own some surrounding land, including along Red Hill Road.

I would think that would be the most likely place for a stranger to dispose of a body. But Henry Graff’s report on NBC29 has departing landscapers reporting that the body is in the woods behind the house.

There are two houses, in fact. The circa 1850 and then a 1985 one. (According to Albemarle GIS)

Being local, I can’t imagine any trespasser coming from Blandemar. There’s just no privacy and I wouldn’t characterize it as a “remote” part of the property.

You always hit my bullseye. I was doing ok for a while.
Thank you Kate, Candace Bond, and Umberto for all the work you have done on this case in particular. So far, that is.
C has been on the location like the badger she is when it counts.

Thank you to the kind and compassionate followers of Morgan’s case and blinkoncrime.com.

We stand united in support for Morgan and her family.

We stand united in a successful prosecution in this case.

We stand united in what we must learn from such a tragedy; so that we may teach others.

Rest sweet Morgan, leave the heavy lifting to us.

  13. redly says:

Pam — you could get there in 15 on rt 29, longer if you took a back way. I used to live 4 miles due east (almost exactly) from the farm. The BIG question in my mind is where it was found on the farm. If on the east side it would indicate it was someone from I 29 and that could be someone completely unfamiliar with the area (this would be one of the first obvious areas to dump a body quickly for anyone leaving c’ville by i 29. If it was the back of the farm you would either need to drive a ways in after leaving i 29 or get to it from a back way which would indicate to me some knowledge about the particular area. As I said, I live 4 miles away and would have had no idea myself how to get to the back area.

My thoughts are with the family.

There is a zero percent chance this person is unfamiliar with that farm, imo.

  14. Observer says:

To PamTX: I can confirm that Anchorage Farm is approx. 15-20 min. from JPJ. It is a straight shot down 29 South.

To acho: We can discuss later at greater length, but I do not believe that Morgan’s case is related in any way to the earlier ASR case.

To mom3.0: There is virtually no way possible that Morgan could have walked all the way from JPJ to Anchorage Farm. No way. I’m uncertain to what Liam Fahy was referring.

To re-iterate to all here some very important words taken from an earlier poster:

“People need to be watching everyone they know, someone is going to be acting strange today, someone is going to slip up,someone is going to fall.”

The above is absolutely true. 110% true.

The way in which we might now help Morgan and her family, outside of our fervent prayers for their comfort and peace, is to be vigilant.

    Hyper-vigilant.

    RE-READ ABOVE POST EVERYONE.

My generous Observer, without a suspect in custody, we have an unsub or unsubs who now have fear of loss of liberty.

Fight or flight makes people dangerous. If anyone knows the person or persons responsible for Morgan’s death, I suggest you reach out to the police, or here, anonymously. You will be doing your friend or friends a favor.
    B

  15. Justice says:

ABC 13 reporter David Tate spoke with Gil Harrington, Morgan’s mother. Around 12:30 p.m., she said she was leaving Roanoke to go to Charlottesville. She was in tears. She also said she asked police not to move the body until she arrived.

Dear Lord, please wrap your arms around these parents just a little bit tighter than you already have…

To Blink & everybody who has worked so hard on this case, Thank You for everything you have done!

And to the POS who did this, if you’re not shaking in your shoes already, you’d better start. I’m sure you were already thinking you were going to get away with this. It’s a different day and a different circumstance now. We are all crying for the loss of this beautiful young girl and her family right now, but the anger WILL set in, very soon. And you had better hope you crossed all your t’s and dotted all your i’s. WE are coming for you and won’t stop until justice is served…

  16. MsL says:

Anjeleyz (comment 48) If what you have heard is true, Mrs. Harrington has more strength than most of us can ever hope to possess. I pray they have the support and comfort of close, good and loving friends as they make this horrible trip to Charlottesville. Of course, this could be something they feel they have to do for Morgan with as few people as possible present. Again, heartfelt prayers for them, and please provide them the strength to do what must be done on this, one of the two worse days of their lives.

    BUT
    Anything is possible I suppose.

  19. Judi says:

I’m just sick. I think I speak for us all here when I say that I feel like I have come to know Morgan and her family. Oh, how I feel for Dan and Gil, words just don’t explain. My heart aches. I was shocked when I first loaded blink’s page and then immediately cried. I was really hoping that she was still alive and that maybe they were close to finding her.

Another precious, beautiful, full life gone for absolutely no reason. Who thinks that they have the right to take what God giveth? To carry a child for 9 months, deliver a child, raise that child and watch that child turn into an adult only to have someone rip that away. I will pray and pray and pray for the Harringtons and Morgan. Please, God, help them through this.

Now, PLEASE LE, CATCH THIS SON OF A BITCH!!!!

I just watched a 3pm update on MSNBC and they were showing footage of the inside of the concert highlighting Morgan there. Perhaps these are tapes LE has evaluated and believes to be Morgan? It was hard to see the footage but one of the clips certainly appeared to be the one that was confirmed as a Dee S sighting. With all the time so many on this site have spent pouring through photos and videos of the concert it surprised me that this had not been released earlier.

3 months! Despite the length of time Morgan has been gone I remain hopeful. Part of me is waiting to be surprised. Waiting for God to pull the rabbit out of the hat and bring Morgan home.

I remember that the light always returns, it cannot help but return. Wil the light of my life return soon? I cannot imagine that all the water of Morgan’s potential is to run down the drain and be wasted. Can it really play out like that?

    Come home soon baby. 2 4 1″

  26. Findthekiller says:

I realize it most likely is irrelevant, but a housefire about 4 miles away that completely guts the home that was rented by 4 UVA students seems worthy of further investigation.

  27. lily says:

I watched and read the incredible emotion, research and care you all have put into Morgan’s disappearance since day one. I couldn’t add anything relevant – you all covered every single thought that popped into my head before I could get it into a comment.

My thoughts and prayers are with those that loved Morgan her whole life as well as those of you who cared so much during this time of tragedy and heartache. A tough day among many – and more to come I’m sure.

God bless Dr., Mrs., and Alex Harrington. My heart is breaking for them. I can’t even imagine the depth of pain and despair they must be feeling. I am a mother of four children, who believe me, give me enough things to worry about when I wake up in the middle of the night, but since Morgan’s disappearance, it is she who pops in my head when I awaken during the night.

    Blink, Observer, and all,
The Harringtons have and will always have my prayers, but what else can I, a very concerned citizen of Charlottesville do to help (besides being vigilent for changes in people)? There are so many people, right here in Cville, that would and will do anything to help, I just don’t know what I could do.

  32. mag says:

I keep hearing Gil’s words when she said she couldn’t imagine a world without Morgan in it. As devastating as the discovery of Morgan is, at least they can bring her “home.”

Here is the info on the fire…is it a coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. I feel the truth always comes out…sometimes in a very mysterious kind of way.

    January 26, 2010

Firefighters are trying to figure out what sparked a house fire in Albemarle County early Tuesday morning at the 3300 block of Sutherland Road in North Garden.

Firefighters responded to calls of a fire around 2:00am Tuesday. Crews had to use tanker trucks and a nearby pond to extinguish the flames, because they had no fire hydrants around. Poor ground conditions also hampered their efforts, since fire trucks had to be parked on the driveway.

Four people were inside the home when the fire broke out, but they were able to escape unharmed. However, there are pets who still remain unaccounted for.

The house was entirely destroyed, and is now unlivable. The Red Cross has been asked to help out.

Fire officials say the blaze is still under investigation. There are unconfirmed reports that the home residents were students at the University of Virginia.

  34. Greg the Mongoose says:

Looks like a traveling serial killer. CSI should be able to determine cause of death? I still can not get around her friends letting her run off before the end of the concert. Does not make sense!

  35. dee says:

what I meant to say Blink is I have seen and read how much you have put into this case and it must be hard for things to turn out this way…so sorry

  36. Observer says:

To Findthekiller and others who have noted the house fire this morning near North Garden (on 29 South):

    Everything–repeat, everything–is being investigated.

    EVERYthing.

Like everyone else’s, my heart breaks for the Harringtons and my deepest prayers are with them at this time.

But now…my focus is on finding the perp and bringing him to justice.
And justice he shall face, in this life or the next.
    Of that I am certain.

To quote someone else: “Karma’s a bitch.”
To quote me: “Hell hath no fury like a mama bear whose cub has been torn from her den!”

    To the perp reading this:

    Be afraid.
    Be ve-ry afraid.
    We’re coming after you.
    With

Spoken like an individual who has been there and done that.
I hope your warning is heeded before the choice to do so is removed.

I am sincerely struck by the strength and compassion of all here. I am of few words today, I feel it appropriate to allow you, the readers and followers of Morgan’s case, to use this *grieving goblet* today.

I am absolutely sickened by this news. As I posted earlier, I was just at UVA last Saturday. As we drove back home to DC, I looked out my car window and thought “where are you Morgan”? Well, we apparently drove right by her! I am extremely angry because I wanted to believe that she was still alive. It’s a scary world and I am scared for all of the children. God bless the Harrington Family. I just want to cry now.

My thoughts go to Caylee and her own family hasn’t even exhibited one ounce of the pain I am feeling for this sweet girl Morgan.
    God Speed.

Is the area where she is, in the area where the supposed hitchhiking girl was seen that night of the concert?

I have always taken OYEs posts with a grain of salt – a secret insider with a grudge can do a lot of damage in a situation like this. Think ‘Minister of misinformation’.

I do however believe that OYE was closer than most with the ‘after party’ theory – although the OD aspect is way off the mark.

It is my strong belief that Morgan was on her way to an after party, but before arriving / after arriving at a fake location the drivers advances were spurned and he murdered her in a fit of rage – albeit it possibly unintentionaly. I believe the deed was done by 10:30pm

What transpired afterwards was a panicked phonecall (much later in the night – probably around midnight) to a family member (most likely a father) who encouraged said driver to place the bag BACK at the arena once it died down there – I’m thinking 2am – 3am.

I believe we will see a very unassuming, young college student in front of the courts one day for this. Most likely one who has a very clean criminal record but who may have a brother/sister who has had trouble with the law in the past – leading to a family member not wanting another child to throw their life away.

We are talking about a type of person who doesnt stand out in a crowd – has probably had a girlfriend or two in the past few years, but who has struggled since arriving at college.

I in no way believe this person to be a close friend of morgan, a repeat offender, or a basketball player. I believe this to be a VT student who was not known to Morgan and who lured her with the promise of an afterparty (perhaps the party did exist, but they never arrived).

    R.I.P. Morgan Harrington

  45. Edward says:

It is very difficult to carry a dead body for a long ways..

There is a chance she could have walked there..
A person can walk 20 miles in a day on average.
Drugged out of her mind would explain some of the strange behaviors mentioned by early witness to Morgan outside of the concert..
If she passed out, She could have died due to the elements.

I would just try to keep an open mind as to cause and those who live in the area be diligent in watching other people as already mentioned.

  46. Observer says:

I can see this playing out either way:
    a. the person who placed Morgan there was very familiar with the farm; or
    b. the person who placed her there was not familiar with the area but was instead driving down 29 South, and saw the road sign for “Anchorage Farm Road”, and turned right up there thinking it was a very rural, lightly-traveled road.

However: if you turn off of 29 South onto Anchorage Farm Rd. after a short drive it brings you directly to the house. There are no turn-off’s (at least none that I recall), so the person unfamiliar with the area would have had to driven up the road, seen the house, panicked, and somehow have gotten Morgan to the far (South) side of farm, next to the treeline.

There was no way this person would have stopped on the farm road and carried Morgan to the treeline, nor would they have 4-wheeled it over across the farm to the treeline. This would all have been in plain view of the house.

    Thinking aloud now.
Am with B on this: the perp knew about Anchorage Farm.

  47. LC says:

So very sad to hear the news. To the Harrington family, know that there are prayers going out to you all the way from California. May you find peace and comfort knowing so many are holding you in our hearts. God bless you.
Blink~ Thank you for all you do.~

  48. Swiss Miss says:

The owner of the farm found the body around 8:30 am today while checking his fencing, so it doesn’t seem like anyone had prior knowledge this was going to come to pass today (i.e., no tips or confessions led to the discovery). As a result, I don’t think POYE’s comment is related nor is the nearby house fire which happened around 2 am today.

Just giving my 2 cents to try and keep everyone on a reasonable track while we comprehend and internalize what is unfolding.

  49. Watchtower says:

I’m very sorry to hear this news. I so wanted to believe she’d taken off on her own and would be found alive someday soon…
My heartfelt condolences to the Harrington family.
I hope LE catches the SOB(s) responsible for this. If it turns out that someone(s) known to her had any involvement and/or knowledge of what happened to her and sat on that info all this time to cover their own asses, I hope they will be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
May you rest in peace Morgan.
