Morgan, sweet Morgan, we all learned to know you in such a tragic way. We all love you and now mourn your passing. You were innocent, your life was drug out in front of strangers, assumptions were made. I close my eyes and see the various scenerios we have all imagined. Skyler was so close to you that night but not close enough. Skyler, we all have grown to love you as well. You must share your talent for writting with others..you must. Thank you Blink for moderating and keeping all in line. I do not even know how to address Morgan’s family other than I think they must know how much so many of us connected to them, admired them, feared for them and now truly cry for them. I am soooo heart hurt for them.
Skyler: Are you there? We are here for you too! I am sure that we are thinking about you. Your time and effort is invaluable!

Does this time coincide for the fire in North Garden??? Who owns this house??? Is there a connection? Where is the dog? Is there a shed on this property?
Fire destroys evidence and smells. Were the UVA kids booted out or did they decide to leave. Did they go to Metallica concert????????
These questions should be asked and asked STAT!!!!
OYE: I pray that you had a moment of clarity!
My deepest condolences go out to Dan, Gil and Alex Harrington. I nearly fell out of my chair when I read the news and I started crying. I cannot even imagine the heartache the Harrington’s are feeling. I wanted Morgan to be returned to them but not this way, I knew in my heart that they were going to find her body, but I kept hoping and praying that she would return safely home.
May they find whoever did this to her and may justice prevail.
Morgan.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make his face to shine upon you
And give you peace.
I agree that the killer must be familiar with that farm, must have known that it would be possible to put a body there and not be seen. While it may be remotely possible that someone traveling down 29S, might, just by happenstance, turn off in the hopes of finding a spot, it’s much more likely the killer knew just where he was going.
29S will take you to Nelson County, Lynchburg, Danville, North Carolina. It might take a killer home, or at least to a place he’s comfortable with. It’s a less populated area of Albemarle, with large stretches of farmland and wooded areas. This is looking less like a panicked person acting rashly and more like someone with a plan.
I usually don’t click on links to the local websites since I can go directly to the source, so I don’t know whether this information has been brought over from CBS19 (Newsplex in Charlottesville.) Some additional information has been added since the story first broke. I think the 2 paragraphs I have brought over supports Blink’s statement that whoever left the body was familiar with the farm. Does not seem to me it was just happenstance. With regard to the fire, could be a possibility, but would seem more likely had the fire not occurred 7 hours before discovery of the body.– Quote from CBS19 website-
“CBS19′s Bianca Spinosa spoke to David Bass, the owner of the property, on the phone. He said he found the remains when he was checking fences that keep cows from roaming. The fences were on the outer end of the property, about 1.5 miles from his own. Initially, Bass said, he thought the remains were a deer but called police when he realized they were human.
Bass said the remains were at a remote part of the property that can only be accessed by tractor. He said he usually keeps the gates to his farm open, which makes it susceptible to trespassers, usually hunters”
Hunter.
I wonder if Mr. Bass allows membership to hunt on his property, which would of course, be legal?

This family touched my heart from the beginning. As overwhelmingly sad as this news is today, I’m grateful that Morgan’s parents are on their way to her. They will always cherish remembrance of Morgan, and the support so many have shown to them. My prayers are with all of them, and I’ll never forget their beautiful daughter.
I can only hope there is now a new flood of information that will be released that will bring to light, the person or persons responsible for this.
Watching this from halfway across the country from day 1, our hearts go out to the Harringtons, and also to Blink, and all the Blink-thinkers who held out – hoping for a happier ending.
May she rest in God’s peace.
sorry rabbit19: i mean if poye posted 14 hours ago…does the fire start at this time????? are they all talking, running…well, they should be! whoever it is.
Now is the time for everyone to stay vigilant and watch, look and listen. And for the Love of God…CALL!!!!
My heart just sank. I can’t even imagine what her parents are going through. I hope Morgan will be able to lead investigators to the person(s) who did this to her.

Liam, What does this mean??????
Again, my sympathy to the Harringtons and all of you who have devoted so much energy to bringing Morgan home. I was curious as to whether this backend of the farm could have been a party place for a few friends – unbeknownst to the owner. Obviously, the perp definitely is familiar with the area.
From the map Blink posted above I am under the impression that the Perp did not drive up Anchorage Farm Rd but instead drove up Red Hill Rd. It would be directly behind the house and where the green indicator points on Blinks map.
Also, if you zoom in really close on google you can see a pulloff/shoulder (red car) on that road, right next to that very treeline.
Does LE believe that the perp traveled on Anchorage Farm road?
correction-I misstated who first said he/she could not believe it was not someone familiar with the farm. wpgmouse made the comment, and Blink agreed. I agree with both. Not inferring in any way that the owners are involved. Mr. Bass said the farm is susceptible to trespassers, so maybe after whatever happened, happened, the remote area came to mind.
My thoughts and prayers are with Morgans family, I will pray that the Lord wraps them in his arms today and comforts them, I will also pray for peace for them. How very sad, such a beautiful young girl.
My heartfelt prayers to Morgan and the Harringtons. I pray you are surrounded by His comforting love and mercy.
Morgan, may you find some comfort there. ~love~
MsL, I thought Mr. Bass said they have never had trespassers?
Why ‘this’ farm?
Cause he knew it.

(partial re-post from other BOC site)
No words can express the emotions we all feel over this devastating news….regardless of the various opinions we all expressed here on BOC, we all share the shock, fear, rage and deep sadness for the Harrington family and all those who knew and loved her, including those of us here at BOC who have grown to know and love Morgan and her loving family. May the rage and sadness we all feel be channeled to whatever we must do to find who took Morgan from this life and those who loved her. Morgan rest in peace…you will forever live in so many hearts and prayers. God bless the Harrington family. Finally….to the scum-bag that did this: you better make a deal with the devil because you are going to need all the help you can get when you are found and prosecuted…..AND YOU WILL BE…justice will belong to the Harringtons….and we are ALL watching.

“Word to the wise: She who talks first, gets the deal.”
Interesting choice of pronoun.
*~*~*~* RIP Morgan~*~*~*~*~*
Prayers and thoughts of comfort & peace to the Harringtons.
Agree w/a previous poster—-Let’s find the individual/s who are responsible for putting here there.
Thank Goodness for Blink and all the Crime-Solving Professionals who dedicate their lives to such a difficult cause. That has got to be one of the toughest gigs in the World.

Would that be taking 631 south to RedHill Road?
Comment by Mom3.0 — January 26, 2010 @ 3:40 pm
“Where could she have been trying to go?”
Mom3.0, Good Point! If she was walking? Could Morgan have been walking to the house on Sutherland Road, Albemarle County? Seems a bit far on foot. Or could she have known someone who worked on one of these farms and was trying to get to them? Someone surely knows something!
I am sorry to anyone on this board but I do not mean to be insensitive but i just know that you all are giving your heartfelt thoughts and prayers out to the Harringtons. As we all should!! Me too, but I think that now is the time to put pressure on what we do know and what we all have bantered around time and again. Somewhere, we have the answer or part of it!!!
Forensics, will tell us how long our beloved, adopted Morgan was there. She was never alone…see we were all there along with her and will continue to be until Morgan and her family see justice served!
I cannot express this enough…if someone suspects anything, they should call Law Enforcement, NOW!
Sky: I am worried about you! Where are you? Please know that we are here for you. I know that this is difficult. J2K, did you hear from her. Is she ok? Let her know, we all care.
Blink: I will be right here along with you helping you lift!!!!
If blink’s green arrow indicates where the body was found, I don’t see how you could get there without 4 wheeling or a pretty serious hike. I would agree not someone just coming on the area by accident.
I agree it had to be someone who had visited that particular spot of the farm previously. What is a POYE?
fish, it is 4:45 my time and it says it was written 16 hours ago-no exact time
I’ve been reading this web site since the beginning of this case, but never posted. I am filled with sorrow that my first and probably only post is to extend my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to the Harrington family. My gosh, I checked here daily for updates, but could never have expected to feel such anguish when I clicked here just hours ago. I am just so, so sorry they have to go through this. My prayers are with the Harringtons and also with all of the dedicated posters on this site who added such compassion to this case while trying to bring Morgan home.
Oh Kate, you took the words right out of my mouth:
“Word to the wise: She who talks first, gets the deal.”
Would like to add that we won’t rest until we have justice for you and your family!
Note to all, Red Hill Road runs right down the side of the property. Closest access to the property is at the first curve as you turn off of 29 on the right. Just far enough to not be seen from the main road and small patch of woods right by the fence. This is where I think she was found. God rest her soul.
C, right?
Just got some info “onscene”. This area is more remote on location than appears on the map. The consensus is the person would have to be familiar with the area, not afraid to be seen on it, but no way could she have been put there in the pitch dark.
I am trying to find out if Mr. Bass allows private hunting at all, or the adjacent woods.
Thank you for all you do for victims, and especially today, Morgan.
B
I agree AtotheK… If the body was found where the green arrow is(in the woods behind the house) and the person was familiar with the area, I would think he used Red Hill Rd where he had easier access to that wooded area(from the back)…
Observer, I’m so very grateful for all you’ve shared with us here.

Thank you.
My deepest sympathies to the Harringtons. I wish there were words that would ease their pain.
To Blink et al – Your strength, compassion, knowledge and hard work create the light which will ultimately defeat the evil in this world. I am sure there are times when evil seems to be winning but I believe that you truly make a difference. Thank you
There is more than one house on the property. Other posters/blogs say there was a known party house on this farm. Everyone who was at that party that night better speak up stat.
Dear God, will this ever stop?
Observer:
“But now…my focus is on finding the perp and bringing him to justice.”
I could not have said it better nor did I. Thank you!!!
and Yes, Karma is a Bitch!!!
Observer: I have to go to my son’s event at school and I am sickened and torn to leave all of you. This is a happy day in his life. He is presenting a project he worked so hard on. I hope that you all stay diligent tonite. I will see you all later!!!
Much Love and Peace to Morgan and her family!!
Comments from the article referenced below. Poster says one of the houses on the property was used as a party spot. “The house is rented, or was, by students and parties were held there frequently.” See below

I’m familiar with farm from 30+ years ago as a kid. This wasn’t a drive-by dumping as there’s really only one way into the farm if in fact the body was found behind the house. Whoever placed the body there is familiar with the farm, either as someone that lived on the property, worked there, visited the old homeplace for parties, or possibly even hunted there. They had to know it was “safe” to go there in the dark without drawing attention.
The big house in the pic was the sight of many big parties so lots of people would have been familiar with the isolation of the area. It is such a sad situation but if it is Morgan, at least the family will have some closure.

CVIllified – just giving my opinion being familiar with the place. Yes, it’s “remote” and right off 29,but you have to drive past a house to get to the location they appear to have found the body.
The house is rented, or was, by students and parties were held there frequently. I would think that someone being familiar with the place and knowing if they drove past the house in the pic towards the new house at the back of the property, no one in the first house would be concerned. If it’s Morgan she may have been more likely to get in a car with a younger, safe-looking person of similar age…maybe a student that had partied there. Things went too far, he panicked and ended up at the most remote place he knew. Just a theory.

OYE’s…what say you?
There is going to be lots of conjecture in the next few days but it would probably be a safer bet to hold onto any immediate thoughts regarding a possible perpatrator but the language and demeanor of all the people who`s names have come up at this point has to be scrutinised by those closest to them and also the public but most importantly LE, now is the time to apply pressure on any POI they might have and let the evidence tell its own story.
WT sure picks his words, and today of all days…
Completely unrelated topic but a curious statement regardless…

AtotheK — great spot of that little area where the red car is parked. That does look like the closest possible road access point to where blink has the arrow.
One more thing…if it is not an accessible area by public then who is employed at this farm??? do they employ offenders of any kind?
Also, start impounding the cars of all. including the UVA kids!!
I am outraged!!!

I see you seem to be leaning towards a hunter who may have used the farm previously for such activities – please correct me if im wrong. I must say I disagree with you on this.
I think the body being discarded in a ditch points to a much younger, disorganised, type – not an outdoorsy hunter, who from seeing similar cases in the past would be more likely to adeuqately conceal a body or to completely dispose (please forgive my use of languag) or bury it.
I would suprised if a hunter was involved.
No.
I am saying someone that may have knowledge it is used for hunting, or even someone who may have helped someone else.
This area is very remote with one road in.
B
#63 Redly and #64 Observer – Thank you for confirmation of distance.
Blink, Observer – I also agree this was someone who knew/was familiar with this farm and apparently so does the following poster on another website. In the below two comments, this poster is obviously aware of “The house is rented, or was, by students and parties were held there frequently.” Blink, I don’t know much about Read The Hook, but if it is ok, I am bringing “Red Hill’s” two comments over to BOC:

Assuming it was Morgan, no way could she have taken “shortcuts” to arrive on this farm. There are no shortcuts down 29 other than mountains.

Not saying I believe it was a former student who lived there, but I found both of these above comments interesting enough to share if that is okay with you, Blink.
Re: Comment by fish — January 26, 2010 @ 5:41 pm
I agree 100% with what you posted. I am also worried about Skyler. We miss you Skyler and weep with you.
blink, after reading comments re: red farm road & reviewing google earth map, the “safest” place for the perp to hide Morgan’s body would have been in the ditch which is on red farm rd after the first major curve left. it appears hidden from 29. also major rain & floods could have moved her body from the ditch to a more visible spot.
So, so sad but it brings a partial end to the nightmare. Hopefully now, someone will pay.
I would assume an autopsy will yield many answers.
From the news conference on HLN, Lt. Radar stated he will not issue a “warning” to the people in Charlottesville. WTF?
As was stated earlier, this POS has now become even more dangerous than they already were. I’m so angry!!!
oops meant red hill road….
comment from Observer:
“But now…my focus is on finding the perp and bringing him to justice.”
Observer,
I was under the impression the Harrington’s had one in mind.
I value your input on this, if you are able. TY.
Blink, et al
Our local news just reported that there is no public access road to the farm, you would have to take the private drive.
They also said the field where she was found was a hay field and it was last plowed in August. They said that in October, when Morgan went missing it would have been waist high.
They also reported that the “friends” started hearing about this in the A.M. and that they are almost certain it’s Morgan because of a bracelet she was wearing.
I just hope and pray one of the items found at the scene is that little red camera. RIP dear child.
I would not go to a farmhouse party for all the tea in China right now.
A party house? Yoshi thank you for bringing that over. Oh How I pray Morgan just partied too much and did not perish at the hands of an abductor.
If any one knows what happened, as Kate so aptly stated “Word to the wise: She who talks first, gets the deal.”
