If this was a known party house, Morgan’s buddies should know something? I still don’t understand the silence and lawyering up. My parents would have dragged me into a police station, slammed me into a chair and told LE to have at me (whether I wanted to talk or not). Maybe there was a rockin’ party that afternoon/evening, Morgan and her friends had been there and she decided she wanted to go back?
Just throwing out a few thoughts.

Such a sad day for the Harrington family. My prayers and condolences go out to them. Poor dear “shiny” Morgan thankyou for letting us find you at last and bring you home to your family and to be properly laid to rest. R.I.P Morgan you did not deserve this.

You have touched our hearts and somehow we are a part of your family now.

It is raining hard in California and my tears won’t stop my heart is heavy. I feel so much love for everyone who has stayed so close and worked so hard to find Morgan on this site.

Thankyou dear Blink we are all with you willing to do the heavy lifting and help bring justice to Morgan and her family.

Skyler my heart lifted when I read your post and realized you were safe and on board.

Enquirer thankyou for so patiently explaining your position to us, perhaps you are needed here more than ever before as we are reeling from the shock and finality of Morgans demise, Morgans passing.

To quote dear Skylers words: “Observer, I’m so glad you’re back — not for the information you can give to us — but because you belong here w/ us to make us whole.

We need to be whole. there’s work to be done.

    Tonight Hummingbird will not sing.

Prayers for Morgan and for us all.

Please sing Hummingbird, even if only on the inside, we need the lift.

Miles to go before we sleep, indeed.
    Love to you all

I am so horribly sorry for the Harringtons and I hope whomever is responsible for Morgan’s death and/or the concealment of her remains is found soon and punished severely. And anyone else that had ANY knowledge of what happened but kept it to themselves. Like most of those that post on this site, I believed the worst but hoped for the best, and now there is no more hope.

Blink, I am forever astounded at your accuracy and perserverance. Thank you again for hosting this site and giving us a place to go everyday for real news and intelligent perspectives. All of you that post here are amazing people, and I thank you all for your time and dedication to finding Morgan.

“He said it was only accessible by driving up his private driveway then taking several unpaved paths.

In Bass’s opinion, he could only be accessed using four wheel drive.

He said state police investigators couldn’t even get there in their vehicles, instead having to walk.

Bass said, since several friends participated in volunteer searches for Morgan Harrington, his first thought was that it might be her.”

    Several friends?

Nobody is going to like what I am about to say, I apologize for that in advance.

I am of the opinion that Morgan walked to this location and met her end there. No, I do not believe she hitchhiked from JPJ, no I do not believe she walked from there to this farm. This is as specific as I intend to be on this particular thought, for now.

I will say, I am of the opinion that there are obvious signs of trauma to Morgan’s remains. The activity and protocol at the crime scene, with Lt. Rader’s confirmation of a “perp”, tell me there must be outward signs of foul play. Otherwise, it would have been downplayed as they would not be able to tell if Morgan died of natural causes or accident.

    This is a murder case.

With all due respect, most abductees know their abductors. I believe I am in the realm of reality, just not spot on.

As I said, I’m no expert. I’m simply asking questions. I don’t know! That’s my whole point. I’m going with the odds and info presented by Blink, team Blink posters, other news sources, etc. I’m not making random assumptions based on nothing at all. Also, I’m not so arrogant to propose I’m onto something BIG! My question pretty much paraphrases Blink and other comments. I’m just a simple redneck Canuck far from the scene of the crime.

    JMHO

Rob, I would ask that we are respectful to differing opinions please. There are hundreds here that have followed many cases for months.

  11. Sdb says:

They need to show this farm owner any surveillance tapes they have to see if he recognizes anyone. I would agree that the perp is associated somehow with this farm. My husband grew up in the country and everybody knows everybody. He knows every inch of that county. It amazes me.
They will solve this crime though, because of that reason.

I saw this post on the Hook:
    Fred Mishnik January 26th, 2010 | 5:15 pm
There’s a creepy-a** dude that lives on that farm. His first name starts with a J. I wonder if the cops will be speaking to him

FWIW don’t know if you want to repeat this on here.

  12. suz says:

So, while it’s not likely that she stumbled all 6.8 miles (as the crow flies) from JPJ to the hayfield, we have to say it’s at least possible. I also can cotton to the theory of Morgan going to a party near the Anchorage Farm and then stumbling out on her own and meeting an untimely end. BUT, it still seems far more likely that a BG got her, OR that she died (OD’d) in the company of an acquaintance or acquaintances who panicked and ditched her.

I hope they will be able to do an autopsy, but like Caylee, unless there is something obvious like a smashed skull or broken bones, or knife or bullet marks on the bones (or her clothes), I don’t know what they can determine. Let’s hope there are loads of clues (dna under the nails?)

As others have noted, you can give folks permission to hunt. Sometimes you charge them for the privilege, or my friend used to ask for some of the venison when she allowed it (she no longer does). Trespassing is an ever present problem, so most farms post NO HUNTING NO FISHING NO TRESPASSING signs all over the place, which still doesn’t deter folks.

I’m still not making sense of the farmers not spotting buzzard activity. When you have cattle or other animals, you definitely are on the look out for them just as a matter of course, as they will tell you right away if something has died.

I feel like frozen. Was so full of hopes that somehow someone can bring Morgan home alive. Now I feel empty. Sitting here in my bed, trying to help my very ill beloved grandmother to live at least one more day. And now we lost a young and beautiful soul, so many people were praying to come back home, even though somehow stressed, but alive.

    My condolences to her parents.
Now your daughter is a flying angel.

And I pray all the LE involved, as well as the prosecutors will put that monster/s in jaile fore life very, very soon.

  14. sherlock says:

Hello Blink and to all that have followed and contributed in this case,

well I just heard the news a little while ago and I’m shocked and deeply saddened. After many weeks of no news, no clues to help us in this case, I was hoping as many of you were, for some new discovery, a Morgan sighting, a witness that would give this case new life.

This is not the discovery I’d hoped for, and although now we Blinkers have a new mission and some cheese to work with in finding this scumbag who killed her – how many of us would not wish it were otherwise today,
and that the mystery of Morgan’s outcome was still an open book?

As you know, I was strongly in favor of a runaway theory, and although I had problems making that scenario comply with my logical
proofs, my emotional instincts and my soul were hoping she were somewhere alive and safe.

My prayers go out to the Harringtons – what a classy family who have handled this situation much better than most in the crazy real TV media world we have today. Integrity, dignity, strength and faith is what I see in the Harringtons. Godspeed for your healing, and you will have the support of thousands behind you in that process.

I’m thinking some kind of memorial statue or plaque should be placed somewhere for Morgan – and for all female victims like her. Where?
At VTech? Or near her home?
What a tragedy and waste of life. So young, full of life, kind, cared about children and others, talented. Who knows what great things she might have done with her life, how she may have touched others as an adult. Now all that will never be.

No easy death penalty for this lowlife. Make him do a life sentence in prison with roommate “Bubba”. Make him suffer every lousy day for the rest of his life.

Now, the crime scene. Well, lots of our theories and facts either got disproved today, or got reinforced didn’t they? Apparently at least some of the sightings were false. Did the BB players actually see her?
    Now we’ll know for sure.

Observer, my compliments – your early prediction of a 25 mile radius looks to be spot on. I have the Google map here of C-ville, and North Garden where the house fire was today – notice that the farm is almost at exact midpoint between the concert and the farm!!

    http://tinyurl.com/yeqeep3
    Zoom to level 7.

Observer – do you know exactly how far North Garden and the fire is from the crime scene? Looks to be 3-5 miles??
What if she partied in that N. Garden house, and her body might have been transported by 4 wheel or “mule” to that spot after dark? Possible. Certainly it was not carried that far. And I doubt horses were used. Or the party could have been in at the farm house close by. But then – why the fire to destroy evidence at the other house?
Is the other house the true crime scene? (N. Garden).
Maybe the fire is unrelated, but I don’t believe Observer thinks this and neither do I. Coincidence? Maybe. If not – this would suggest that the perp somehow knew or feared the body would be found today.
Discovery at 8:30 AM, the fire happened 6 hours earlier at 2 AM.
    Hinky, hinky.

    Some theories –
    1. This could still be someone she knew and planned to meet up with. Blink’s exBF idea certainly gains ground here.
    2. The overdose theory is I agree, less likely now, but I still cannot discount it totally. Morgan and “BG” wander outside to take a walk, she dies on him and he freaks out and runs.
    3. The perp is the guy who gave her a ride to the party.
    4. She got a ride with someone else to the party, and the perp only made contact with her there, at the party and afterwards.
    5. Obviously yes, this is someone who knew that land and that road.
However, I doubt he was employed there cause he would be known by the owners. I think more likely he was a partier, or student who had been there before recreationally. A motorcycle could have also been used to transport the body, unless she died on that spot, which I doubt.

I think she died in one of those two houses, the one on the farm itself, or the North Garden one. That should be known fairly soon I believe, upon inspection and investigation of the farm house.

What a sad day. We all can learn from this. And let’s resolve to work harder to put the clues together over the next few weeks to nail this guy. You think we were motivated before you scumbag? Now that she’s dead – watch how hard we come after you now with every brain cell we’ve got.
God bless you Morgan, may you find peace and enjoy dancing in heaven now.

  17. Rob says:

Blink – in reference to a “friend” – I am assuming that people ARE referring to a person(s) on the trip to Charlottesville with Morgan. Those kids have been interviewed inside and out many many times. Everything GLEANED, has been gleaned. Otherwise, Morgan would have been found through a “friends” cell phone trigulation to the area where Morgan appears to have been discovered.

As for a person LIVING in Charlottesville – that’s another story – entirely, and still spells “LOCAL”.

My guess – someone who lives in the immediate area – with-in 1-2 miles. Or, an absolutely diabolical cretin that stumbled upon his ultimate prey – I’ll go with the former and not the latter.

I think you’re onto something. The only thing I disagree with you on is that this person did know who Morgan was. Maybe not as a close friend but friend of a friend…… Think ‘acquaintaince’. In my mind, this was not planned. I feel it could have been someone she ran into…some she met once, twice…but was comfortable with. Whoever this person is, it doesn’t feel premeditated. Your comment seems most plausible, friend.

  21. Rob says:

In my humble opinion – this case will be solved very shortly. A time frame reference for the nearby cell towers is probably underway, and I could dig those towers out – but I am sure the police AND FBI are already on it. This will narrow down the “possibles” in the area on the night Morgan was abducted / vanished.

Also, underneath all of the peripherals, the police and FBI have a predator profile for Morgan’s case. They also have a predator profile map outlining who lives where and could have access to the surrounding areas and the known area where Morgan was discovered.

Tomorrow, the likely method used to cause Morgan’s death will shed more light on who could have perpetrated this horrendous crime. So, the profile will grow exponentially and the person will be caught.

Does anyone know why Dr. Harrington mentioned just this weekend why a search needed to be done down 29 South? What were his instincts? Did he know that Morgan may have known someone down this way? Were there hints of a party on this farm, or in this area? It is all very remote (and beautiful)…and not really on the way to anywhere. Lynchburg is about an hour and a half away, with North Garden, Lovingston and Amherst in between. I agree that whoever put her there must have known this specific hidden location, but it may have been known simply because it was driven by every day. Probably tresspassed on, but not necessarily used for hunting.

With all due respect, most abductees know their abductors. I believe I am in the realm of reality, just not spot on.

    - ofcourse, and sorry if you took offense to my comment, I certainly tried not to imply any – however, a KNOWN abductor would not lead the police to believe she entered a car and was hitchhiking. This indicates – through many many media releases – that this could be an “unknown”. And taking into account that she grabbed some unknown guy’s arm at the parking lot and said – ‘let’s go’ (paraphrased) does shed light that she may have not been using a certain sense of security that she may have used in the past. She may have gotten into a car that she was unfamiliar.

Blink – differing opinions make the world go round.

Hi, Everyone — I haven’t had time to catch up on all the posts —

You all have come to be very dear to me, as well —

I had work-related things I had to do this evening — my supervisor is coming tomorrow and I have to fill out all sorts of paperwork to be employed again — my birth certificate and social security card — so I had to go digging thru moving boxes to find them —

After all the trouble Elijah got into in the old testament, he got busy cleaning up his mess — it kept his mind off his heartache —

it worked for me, as well — I wish you all were here in person — my house is small, we’d squish together and dry each other’s tears —

My dog keeps coming to me when I sit and putting her head in my lap — I think of Morgan’s little “Crazy Dog”

I think of all our world is missing because this beautiful light has been snuffed —

But evil just doesn’t get it — the more evil tries to snuff out the light — the more the light grows —

we will keep Morgan’s light glowing

I still believe, with all of my heart, that girl was running for her life — and now we will all run for her — together

Like everyone, my heart is just broken …

  36. Chad says:

Beautiful hummingbird. I guess we all need to keep trying to make sense of this tragedy. We all may need each other for a while to work this, and we will. We have become attached to a 20 year old girl with whom we came to know because she captured our hearts. Although we all probably knew this day would come, we all still had some lingering hope that Morgan was alive. Perhaps the “ran away start a new life theory” was our denial in play. We have all been here for 3 months, posting, posting and posting, and posting some more. I am so deeply saddened by this, and for the Harringtons particularily. Sometimes life has a design all it’s own, and it is difficult to try to compete with life terms. Morgan was taken so tragically from her family, in the prime years of her life. She had so many wonderful gifts that were bestowed on her for the short while she was here on this earth. She used those gifts to make her world a better place.
I offer a poem on this sad day in honor of Morgan: I liken Morgan to a flower, the most fragrant flower of all, of course, the lily.

    The lily

We can’t know why the lily has such a brief time to bloom in the warth of the sunlight’s kiss upon it’s face, before it folds it’s fragrance in and bids the world goodnight, to rest it’s beauty in a gentler place.

But, what we can know is, that nothing that is loved is ever lost, and no one who has ever touched a heart can really pass away, because some beauty lingers on in each memory of which they have been apart.

Sorry for being mushy, I will theorize tomorrow. Prayers for all.

wpgmouse, no it is not a horse farm, I believe it is a cattle farm.
We have had a very wet winter here in Virginia and Mr. Bass was feeding his cattle on the far side of his farm and checking fences when he discovered Morgan.
He said it would take a 4 wheeler to get into that field.

Does anyone know if the road to the home is “paved”?

  39. Observer says:

Even in the midst of today’s devastating developments, I was remiss in not extending my most sincere thanks to the readers here who over the last few days offered such kind and heartfelt words of support for me on the other thread. Please know that your words truly touched my heart.

In light of what we have learned today about dear Morgan, in conjunction with the heartwarming support I felt from readers, it was clear to me that there was no way on God’s good Earth that I could not continue to show my own support here for Morgan’s family…not to mention, for the BOC family.

Thank you seems somehow insufficient. I trust readers understand my most sincere appreciation.

Now, as we collectively return to tracking down the animal who perpetrated this crime against Morgan…

the predator turns into the hunted…

REPEAT: The predator turns into the hunted.

To respond/comment on some earlier questions/posts:

I do not know the exact location where MH was found; at this time my information is limited to the expansive hay field. [I referenced a tree line earlier today on the basis only of a preliminary aerial photo.]

When I visited Anchorage Farm two times several years ago, the person whom I visited lived with several other people in the large, main house (the historic home) that can easily be seen from Rt. 29. I feel it safe to say that many large parties occurred at that home during those years, although that would not be the case more recently as M/M Bass reportedly live in the home now (but have owned the home for 30 yrs. according to another poster). I cannot comment on parties that may or may not have occurred at the other dependencies (homes) on the Anchorage Farm property as I’m completely unfamiliar with them.

Property owners in Albemarle County can allow access for hunters to hunt on their land. [I own acreage on the Rivanna Reservoir (but do not live there; it is undeveloped property) but I do not allow hunters on the property and it is likewise posted--although the signs are frequently ignored as indicated by a deer stand once erected on the property!] As aptly noted by CVille Vet, it would be extremely difficult-nigh-impossible to patrol a property as large as Anchorage Farm.

Regardless, my $$$ is not on a hunter as the perpetrator of this crime.

As I have had no contact with the Harringtons, I cannot speak to their comment regarding a POI. I did, however, make very strong note of the most recent comments by both Dan and Gil Harrington. I believe that their comments over the last week have been most telling.

Short of re-posting Rob’s entire 1/26, 7pm post: I’m in agreement with virtually every single one of your observations, with the express exception of the comment, re: the individual associated with the furniture store. I believe he is unrelated to this case and references should be left at that.

Late note: Nancy Grace just asked about the main gate being left open–the gate on Anchorage Farm Rd. leading up to the house. To the best of my knowledge, the gate remains open; I have never seen it closed as I’ve driven down Rt. 29–until today, as a direct result of today’s active crime scene investigation.

    Observer-

I remain in awe of your grace.

I make one “observation” I am feeling pretty “glued” to.

Morgan did not get to the hay field without walking at least most of the way herself, imo.

I hate to bring this up — but my friend did say to look for an old farm house right on the outskirts of C-vlle —

anybody know if a young couple live in any of the surrounding area ?

  41. skyler says:

God Bless Morgan. She is now in His loving arms. Dear Lord, please bring peace to the Harrington family. Ease their suffering during this trying time. Please bring the person/s responsible for this horrible crime against this beautiful young lady to justice.

    B, you stated:

“I am of the opinion that Morgan walked to this location and met her end there. No, I do not believe she hitchhiked from JPJ, no I do not believe she walked from there to this farm.”

    I
    am
    with
    you.

And who walks someone to a remote hayfield?

Someone who want to control events, best chance of hiding her.

Blink – “expert” on Nancy Grace show (didn’t catch his name) concurred w your opinion – “I am of the opinion that Morgan walked to this location and met her end there.”

Excuse me while I go get sick. I am so disgusted with our society.

My prayer and tears for the family.

And Mr. Klaas is a definite expert, sadly, his daughter Polly was abducted, assaulted and murdered.

I think she met a local in that parking lot and he gave her a drug. She got confused and started to walk dropping her cell phone etc. This guy picked her up and brought her to the location she was found at. She was to messed up to walk so he drove far into the area with his 4 wheel drive and killed her in the car. Who knows maybe her necklace broke during the struggle. He took her out of the truck and placed her futher into the area and left. Like Natalie Holloway she went willingly. This poor child. Why.
