i just want to say, i read here everyday. never post. everyone is way to smart for me! i pray for the Harringtons-I hope they finally receive some peace knowing where their baby is! i feel like we are all a family trying to provide any answers or clues for the Harrington”s. I respect everyone here, Observer, Rabbit19, MOM3.0, RNMOM3.0 , SUZ, J2K, LOVELY, LIZZY, & i am so sorry for anyone else i forgot, i just cant remember everyone.
Also, of course BLINK!!!! You have made me think about some things i have been doing, the last couple of weeks i have been going to the old high school track at night & running. yes, it is on the outside of town & there are no lights, but when my husband asks where i am going, i tell him “the track” as in the new school. he has no idea of the old school since we just moved here. this entire situation is freaking me out. i may have to rethink what i am doing. i just don’t want to give up my “freedom”. although, if my husband finds out “i’m done” P.S. i am hardheaded-NoOne should take anyone’s feeling away.

I am happy you are here tonight, to share in my grief and pray that Morgan may finally rest in peace and justice be done.It is raining in LA.I couldn’t cook, took my daughter to the Soup Plantation for hot soup and this little boy he was a “rocker”
looked like a 10 year old version of Tom Petty skinny blue jeans, streaked blond hair, hoody with tattoos all over it. My daughter and I noticed him and we smiled at each other. I was sitting there and I felt numb. I was getting these flashes of Morgans’ smile her shiny eyes, her warmth I was grieving her and felt her with me for a dreamlike minute. In the middle of a crowded restaurant I allowed myself to imagine her face, her laugh and how sad it is to be in this world without her. Anyway I looked over at the little rocker boy and he took off his hoody and what was he wearing underneath it ….a very cool METALLICA Tshirt of course. I showed my daughter and we had a Morgan “moment” together.
God Bless her. The world will never be the same without her, beautiful golden butterfly that she was.
    Godspeed Morgan Godspeed.
Thankyou everyone of you here and anyone I have missed, for caring and helping in your own ways to bring dear Morgan home to her loved ones where she belongs.I love all of you.

May god bless all the family and friends of this young woman. May all others get to work. Who lives in the second home? My understanding is the Bass family lives in the old home nearer the highway. Reading what has been posted here, as well as what Mr. Bass has said, and looking at Google earth with an old cow ranchers eye, I expect the body was found well north of both homes in the hayfield at the base of he timbered hill. There does not appear to be any reasonable access other than the main driveway and one would have to pass both houses on the way in.

It just seems unlkely that someone would do so while looking to hide a body. On the other hand if the perpetrator felt confident he was not at risk of discovery he would take time to bury or conceal the body in an attempt at permanent concealment. It makes me think that the crime occurred at or near the scene of the body, and that the perpetrator was not comfortable to linger at the scene or make a better attempt to conceal. My guess is that there was a vehicle involved at the scene. I have cultivated a lot of hay in my day and I can get my pickup to any field I could ever cut and bale. Hopefully if the crime occurred in wet weather there may still be useful tracks at the scene. If no vehicle then we can be sure the perp has ties to immediate vicinity.
I am assuming there is no possibility that this was simply an exposure death without involvement of another because press conference seemed to indicate that VSP was pretty certain this was foul play.
I can’t help but think the finding of the body in this location and circumstance is going to lead very rapidly to a scenario and suspect with some tie to this area. I am sure LE is hard at work tonite. Wisdom to the seekers.

  6. Muse says:

Blink, how your words in #340 bring me to sorrowful tears at not only the Harrington’s tragic loss and Morgan’s loss of life, but how much this beautiful girl represents the mother-daughter-sister in all of us. This one has been especially painful, because my daughter attended school in that area, and I can’t say how many times I have thought it could have been any one of our daughters, sisters, friends who faced the same fate. The same is true of most of all these horrific stories, and we must rise up and make these losses count for something. No more.

I have never believed Morgan hitchhiked that evening. One thing I learned during my daughter’s years there is that there is a collegiate relationship among the students of all the schools in that area, and they spend most of their weekends visiting one another and attending events and parties on one another’s campuses. It has always been incredible to me that Morgan would have resorted to hitchhiking when in all likelihood she knew people from that campus, or at a minimum knew someone who knew someone who knew someone.

This discovery today has left us with an image that I pray will be lit with the truth. Shine on, beautiful angel, shine on.

  7. sherlock says:

This case now boils down to some very vital questions and facts. Things like the facebook pictures of her friends and speculation about the BB players can be tossed aside, as we hone in on the hard facts.

There is still the nagging question of why she left the arena before Metallica. We may never know the real reason, but I am convinced it was not to smoke or use the bathroom (where – under a tree? She’s a girl, c’mon). No, I can only think of two logical reasons to miss Metallica –
something more appealing to her. 1. An ex-BF or a new love interest she barely knew. 2. The attraction of a wild party, possibly with members of the LOG crew (although I doubt this, this whole thing seems LOCAL to me).

How she got to that property from JPJ is the crux of the matter.
There appear to be three possible BG options:
    1. This was an ex BF who knew her.
    2. This was a stranger she met at the concert who gave her a ride, hoping to get lucky. He lost his cool and killed her unplanned.
    3. This was a perp who just got lucky and saw her in the lot after the LOG show. He was looking for a victim.

The problem with #3 is – the body was not hidden. Either a serial perp who has killed before or someone who was looking to rape and kill a young girl had a PLAN, therefore he would have also prepared the means to bury the body, or dispose of it where it would remain hidden for a longer time. Even if he was familiar with the property area (which we believe he was) he surely would know that a farmer or hunter (or dogs) would surely find her soon. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe most predatory perps of this type usually hide their victims pretty thoroughly. Doesn’t fit that pattern.

If #1 or 2 is correct, then either of those type of killers would not be prepared (or care) to hide her body well, or given it much thought.
If an exBF, then this was somewhat a crime of passion, and not well planned. If an exBF, then maybe he subconsciously wanted her found there – maybe even they had been together in the past near that spot at a party long before??

Another Occam’s question – was there a party either near that property OR at the North Garden house? Or – was this a simple abduction – a perp gives her a ride from JPJ and just takes her out to the country to kill her? This is the simplest solution that fits the facts, and yet – if she wasn’t planning on going to a party, again – why did she leave the arena?

If there was a party, then the likelihood of Morgan knowing her killer to some degree is strengthened.
The temp was around 40 that night – there could have been a bonfire keg party outdoors near one of the rental houses nearby, perhaps on a part of land no one checks on much. A fire makes it warm enough to party.

Yes, it’s also possible the killer transported her there from the Blandermer farm side of the area (see maps) instead of the Anchoridge side, something to consider.

I must respectfully disagree Blink, I don’t think she walked or was marched there to that hayfield. Why there logically? Why not closer to tree cover? No, I think she was put there after the fact, and as someone above posted – it may have been hours or days after she died, we don’t know yet, but forensics will likely determine that soon.
A 4 wheeler, a motorbike, ATV, there are ways they might have gotten her there. If the perp wasn’t that concerned with hiding her body obviously, then why not just leave her on the side of the gravel road/farm road? Why walk through wet tall hay up a steep hill?

This is looking to me to be more and more an unplanned event, not a professional killer (unless it was a “hit man” type of execution for some reason and I don’t want to go there).

I will throw one more bone in the pot just to stimulate some argument. Is it possible she got a nice ride to a party on that land, got too high and wandered off by herself and died? People at the party would only think she left with some one, no one keeps track at parties like that. Maybe 100 people or more. Who would notice she was gone? In know it’s a crazy possibility, but until we know the autopsy, what if no one killed her? But again, walking in heels and bare legs through tall hay?

However, the probability is that she was killed, and I think the failure to hide the body well will speak volumes in the days and weeks to come. Someone saw something we don’t know yet, of that I’m sure. We need to know what Morgan’s intent was in leaving the concert, and her car. That intent will guide us as to who gave her that ride – a known friend or stranger.
Let’s not also rule out there being more than one guy. Still possible at this point.

The other possibly vital fact today is the house fire in North Garden.
It’s either totally unrelated – or VERY important and my instinct tells me the latter (due to the intensity of the blaze, arson I think). What evidence would propel that dire act? Not Morgan’s clothes or cell phone – easy to get rid of. No, has to be blood evidence or other forensic data that was in that house and couldn’t be gotten rid of any other way.

  10. bob-dog says:

Hello friends. I’ve been reading through all the condolences to the Harrington family and the new ideas about how/why she ended up in a hayfield on a private farm. Some questions and comments I’d like to throw out:

    * Observor, I’m happy you chose to come back.

    * How many homes are on the property? It was my understanding that there are two: an old farmhouse that may or may not be rented out to students and a newer home where M/M Bass live. Is that correct? Are there any other homes for employees or temporary workers?

    * In addition to M/M Bass, who else lives on the property? A caretaker? Farm manager? “Migrant” workers?

*On Nancy Grace tonight and from blink: there is only one road into the property, but several people on here list other roads that may be closer. The editor of The Hook said that she drove the perimeter of the farm and was unable to locate any additional access roads.

    * The RSO was someone that some of us on another group looked into. He reregistered in December 2009, but before that, his RSO photo looked even more innocent — more like a frat member who Morgan may have trusted?

    * WHAT IF: The perp stopped and Morgan asked him if he knew about a party. He says, “sure, I’ll take you there,” but when they get there they are alone — the party was a ruse. Morgan demands to be taken back to JPJ and spurns his advances. The perp is enraged and makes Morgan walk through the fields at gunpoint(very difficult in the dark). He kills her and leaves her in 3-foot hay. OR: He holds Morgan for a few days before marcing her into the hayfield where he killed her. Based on Nancy Grace tonight, the walk would have been 1.5 miles from where he parked to where she was found. Does anyone think that is accurate of out of line with That’s a long way to march someone in the dark — especially with barbed wire and other fencing. This part makes me ill.

    * Apparently, this was someone who worked and/or lived on the property.

Peace to my blink cyber-friends and blink. There is still work to be done for Morgan and the Harringtons.

suz…dang good point about the gates. One reporter who I’m still trying to trust said that normally the gates in Albemarle are open. However, I watched tape after tape today of those gates being scrupuously secured, I started to assume that Mr. Bass locked them. He said that his horses were contained with electric fences and that he or the reporter ‘wouldn’t want to walk into that.’ Paraphrase there.

All of you, thanks for being in this together. I am a much better person for your work. Next step is to pay it forward.

  13. Jon Guillot says:

Haven’t posted here or on HFMDH for quite a while, but I’ve been following and empathizing with the Harringtons and all faithful Blinksters, even while across the sea.
Now we’ve come to a day I hoped would never come, for I admit hoping that Morgan’s disappearance might have been by her choice. Wishful thinking, that now seems. (I still do wonder if she set out from that concert trusting in someone with whom she’d had some kind of “past,” but by whom she was cruelly and murderously deceived.)
The “handle” I picked for this forum, JustDesserts, now strikes me as horribly ironic. I meant it, as you might suspect, to show my hope that if Morgan hadn’t chosen to walk out of her life, whoever forced her from it would get his/her/their just desserts: arrest, exposure, prosecution, prison. Now, if Blink’s theory– that in the end Morgan was marched to the spot where she was killed–is borne out in fact, then it could literally be said that she WAS WALKED out of her life, and certainly not by any choice of hers.
Surely what came to Morgan was not just desserts for the life she lived. Any unwise choices she may have made, we who are left to mourn her have probably made worse ones yet lived to learn from them.
And how can there be “just desserts” for the Harrington family? Even if the perpetrator of her death is found and brought to legal justice, it won’t bring Morgan back or give her family the satisfaction of watching her fill her years with joys and accomplishments. The only potential result from this tragic cutting short of a promising life that doesn’t lead toward their emptiness, bitterness, or despair, IMO, is this: that the memory of Morgan should be kept fresh, and lessons from her case should be spread widely to all who might profit from hearing of them.
I know of no better “village” to help spread that wisdom than this one. There is so much evident caring here, so much respect for potential, so much heart.
Almost no one who has posted on BoC had the privilege of knowing Morgan until she was not here to be known, yet we were drawn to her anyway. Others can be drawn to her story. . . and maybe some can be saved from similar fates. Call it, if you must, “the gift of fear”—but isn’t it realistic awareness, a cautious heed for the human capacity for doing evil and a determination to limit it, that we truly need to spread? “Serious crime is stopped not in the electric chair, but in the high chair”—it might surprise you to know the source of that statement: J. Edgar Hoover.
In that vein, even though we’d all like to lay hands on whoever thought to black out Morgan’s shining light, let’s all breathe deep and keep examining our assumptions as police move into a new phase of investigation. Nothing is yet sure about how Morgan died; right now still less can be surely known about who was involved in it. Yes, it’s quite unsettling that registered sex offenders live near the site where she was found, but let’s not queue up for a lynch mob—that may be just as ironically incidental as that the nearest neighbor to where Morgan was found is an old colleague of her father’s. We shall see. And until a lot more is known about the nearby house fire where 4 UVa students had lived—and where their pets may have perished—shouldn’t our sympathies be more ready-to-hand than our suspicions? This forum wants to help with the “heavy lifting” that may be needed to find who’s responsible for Morgan’s death; then let’s not jump to conclusions with that weighty responsibility in hand.
We owe it to Morgan, to the Harringtons, to ourselves and all those we love to show that good people are not patsies, nor are they hasty or unjustly vindictive. Now, with Morgan found, it’s for those who didn’t want her found to worry about passing time. So rest a moment, you loveable crusaders for Morgan; the work isn’t finished!

I need to sleep. Prob so do you. But, I have to comment on your oh, so beautiful and touching post. (as usual)
I have a brother in law that is an oncologist. He is a specialist in Cancer, and he does accept those diagnosed with a 50% chance of living or less. Most of his patients do die, if not the majority of them. He believes, and has a standing order at the hospital, and the hospice house, that no one should ever die alone, and that should his patient become close to death, to summons him to be by their bedside to hold their hand. Some folks do indeed die alone, with no family, or friends to comfort them. I admire that deeply, and respect that.
However, I’m not a bible beater, but I am very faithful, and death is difficult. Our wonderful Mother Theresa once said, that she loved to be amongst the poor, and the suffering. She especially loved spending time with the sick, and dying. She had selfish reasons you see in addition to being a christain,( Saint and nun) but she said, “I love to look into the eyes of a dying person, because they are so much closer to god, his presence is there”.
Answer to your question, Hell to the NO, no, Morgan did NOT die alone. God was surely there, Morgan was a special child of god, she was unique to his making, he would never ever desert her in her hour of death,as much as I am faithful, I am sure of this.
I had to say that tonight Skyler, Good night all.

Dear Blink, i am from Germany and althougt i doesn’t speak and write à good english i must try to tell something. I had an Aunt in Illinois She died recently (2 Years ago). She used to send me sometimes true crime Storys Book wenn She red those. So after she died as i red the Caylee Anthony Case i asked my Aunt in my mind what had happen to Caylee where she was. And i promess i saw a picture from the perspektive of Caylee under water with à snake swimming over her. I asked where and the word communal came in mind. So as i red from Brittanee Drexel i did the same i asked in my mind where Brittanee is and i saw true a car Mirror brittanee sitting in the back seat in à very bad shape.(drugged?)i don’t Know. But for me She was alive at least then. When i red about Morgan i did the same i asked in my mind where is Morgan? And i saw from the perspective of Morgan( thats not good i knew she is not alive anymore) a man standing behind a door so i could see him from the side. But only half face. He is dark haired between 25 to 35? 1,80 meter has a strong Beer stomack but is not real fat. He has untidy hairs à bit longer between neck and schoulder and over his ears. It look like he use to ware à Baseball Cup à black one. He had à darkblue sweatshirt on and Jeans. He stood by a door but this door was not wooden it was plastic with the shape of Wood on it, the door was light almost yellow. If i was able to see à picture i think maybe i could recognise him. I saw all this for about 1or2 Weeks after She disapeard. And i didn’ t want to post anything about because i am not à medium and i don’t know if that what i see is true so i never would do something that would take someone the Hope to find her alive. I don’t Know what to do with what i saw so i tell you Blink, you and your readers are so devoted to those Missings persons. I thank God that in Life there are persons like you that are not selfish and for who other people are important. Sorry for my english. I am relieved to have told that to someone.

  18. suz says:

j2k, NG said there was barbed wire. so take it FWIW. But if there are cows, there’s fencing around every field. barbed wire is cheaper than wood, which needs painting and repair and upkeep. Cattle constantly test the boundaries by pushing up against fences looking for weak spots (maybe not every cow, but there are troublemakers in every herd—those are the ones who go to market first), so if you have a metal or wire fence, barbed wire is a good idea. You could keep a horse penned in with a piece of string—I’ve seen it!—not so with cows.

So if this is a hayfield her remains are in, they probably eventually let the cows on it after the cutting(s), thus we can assume it’s fenced in.

The reporter on NG who tried to drive around back never found a back gate, but she sounded flustered and unsure, so perhaps there is a gate that leads to the road or to neighboring land—-but usually you lock those. But who knows.

But let’s assume no gate to the back road closest to the remains. Choices are to go up and over (or under, or through) a fence of some kind, or thru the front gate (lights off, by car?) and up to the remote field, encountering either actual gates that lead to the cow pastures and hayfield, or places there would be gates that are protected by cattle guards instead, meaning you could drive right in without needing to stop and open and close a gate.

  19. suz says:

j2k, as for the pond, i’m just thinking it’s not a compelling invitation to an already cold wet morgan on a cold wet night, so i think the perp would come up with a more plausible fake invitation, say to a warm, dry party house (but who knows)—- but i don’t know if she was near a pond in the end, or was she? Why not dump her in, or would that be more noticeable than in the overgrown hay?

TheOtherD, i dunno, drunken/drugged people can walk pretty far, as she already did, and you can drag them along. I figure they had all night to wind up in that field and i think they pretty much headed straight there from the arena. Now is it easier to take a drunken crying already been raped morgan on a long march, or a happy drunken pre-raped morgan? Or is someone holding a weapon on her to force this march?

skyler, the buzzards would have showed up on day 1 of morgan’s remains being there, so that would have been well before our snowfallr. maybe the terrain is so hilly, the farmers didn’t have line of sight from their house to the remains and just wouldn’t have seen the buzzard activity.

  20. suz says:

silly me, we know morgan is in a fenced-in area because farmer bass was out checking the fence line after the storm (in case, for instance, a tree fell on the fence and smashed it enough to let cows out. you never want your cows getting out, as they’re a hazard).

  21. suz says:

ok, so if her credit card was used, maybe they stop to get beer or something to party. I think they would had them in the car/truck if they drank any, though who knows, maybe she had a beer in her hand as she set off with the perp across the hayfield.

so if the card was used, was it the self-same card later found with the purse, or a different card she had on her person?

  22. suz says:

really awesome aerial photo on page 33 of the latest WS thread (“found deceased” #10) showing the location of the remains. Dude matched up helo shots of the forensic units in the hayfield with other maps based on the tree line. amazing.

Having looked at it, I dunno about red hill rd now—looks like you’d have to walk really far thru the woods to get to the field.

i guess he could have assaulted her in the woods close to the road and left her for dead, then she managed to make her way all the way thru the woods and into the field to die, but i don’t know. sure would be so much easier if the perp came right thru the front gate.

  23. mary says:

    #336 – Suz,

I’m fine lol. Happened many moons ago but thanks.

  24. suz says:

skyler, yes, you’ll recall that when that other body was found since morgan was missing (cassandra morton?) animals had moved the skull across the path from the body. i don.t know how scattered her remains were, if at all. Partially skeletonized says there’s still some meat on the bones. wonder why they were not picked clean (god, sorry, morgan—but i know you are not your remains)

Anyway i think it would take a bear to move her out of the woods, which they no doubt have, but i am sure that would have left her in pieces.

so i think (if she’s intact) she died on the spot.

  25. notJMUfan says:

friends, usually a “barbed wire” fence in Virginia around farms consists of a an approximately 5′ fence of really 2 parts–the first part from the ground to approximately 5′ is wire shaped in squares. You might see the same thing around someone’s yard. There is nothing that would keep you from touching this wire. The 2nd part of the fence, is one strand of wire which has the “barbs” strung along a thin wire, spaced by about 6″. You can easily grasp the wire between the barbs. Very, very often in the “country”, in order to cross the fenceline, one person will hold down the “square” part of the fence and hold “up” the “barbed wire part” allowing the other person to cross over in the gap that is created between the 2 wires. The favor is then returned, and voila’ both people are across the “barbed wire” fence. Maybe I should change my name to “country girl?” lol

  26. suz says:

    mary, phew. thanks for that

  27. suz says:

notjmufan, yes! that is exactly the fence my friend has, but we always use her gates so i’ve happily never tried the barbed wire trick.

I watched the live press conference at 5, but due to computer problems, didn’t catch all of it. The late news played clips, including one of Lt Rader saying something that caught my attention. If I heard him correctly, he said that something like even if they had searched the area earlier, they might not have found anything. Did anyone else catch that? I need to watch the entire press conference again, but it seemed like perhaps there was something found at the scene that indicated her body may have been placed there sometime, possibly long time, after 10/17.

That, coupled with the farmer referring to 2 hunters, made me wonder if the farmer is now making a possible connection between activity he was aware of & not concerned about at the time, and Morgan’s disappearance.

My heart aches for the Harrington family. There are no adequate words here. I haven’t had much time to read/post lately, but yesterday I Googled MDH (BOC loads slower) and saw the news. At least one layer of closure can begin.

As a worried-by-nature, post-9/11 mom of a teen, I had familiarized myself (and my youngster) years ago with the names, addies and pix of the local RSO’s, refreshing our memories now and then. This thinking transferred to MDH’s disappearance, and a couple of months ago I had looked online at those in the C’ville area. I had seen the “strawberry blond” RSO’s stats and face, and thought, wow, such a young guy–talk about someone MDH would have trusted; he looks so incapable of doing harm. But I didn’t think I had the right to post it here, and at that point, LE was sure to have checked him out.
Hereabouts, looking at RSOs is SOP in such a case.

Anyway, I wonder if any fraction of the famous Nine is familiar with this place or its outbuildings?

Other speculation seems fruitless until forensics are back. Poor Morgan.

Gifter3-I haven’t seen the aerial shot you are talking about, but it sounds to me as if you are describing a barn built to hold horse vans (came to that conclusion because of the “ring” you mentioned.) Not as many as in recent years, but this is still horse country. I don’t know the proper term, but many people keep what I will call show jumpers and have training rings on their property. I know of at least one farm, not close to this location, but in Albemarle County, that has an indoor ring for training horses during bad weather.

Blink, even though I still feel very sad because of knowing Morgan is in another world now, I wish to say “Thank you” to you and all the supporters than helped to resolve that sad mystery.

I know my contribution was not important for doing that all, but I tryied, even knowing the modesty of my knowledge and resources…

I am sorry if by saying anything I affected someone’s feelings. Just was trying to do my best and to help somehow to save that blond angel.

    Peace and love.

Your company here gave me hope.

    Thank you.

    Snipped:

Nancy and David Bass have owned this farm for more than 30 years. I spoke with Nancy earlier today and she says the pasture is empty in the winter, but where the body was found is a place they do farming. There is a subdivision that is close by to their land, and sometimes people trespass, hunt, and go biking on their property. Nancy is not certain the exact place where the remains were found, and she hasn’t had a chance to speak to her husband about the body because he’s been swamped with calls. I have a call into David, and hope to bring you more shortly. Investigators said in a press conference David found the remains earlier today while he was on a tractor in a field. The hayfield was cut in August, and since that time her body could have sat under rain, sleet and snow. More than 600 tips have come in on this case, and once the medical examiner confirms what authorities believe to be true, this case may shift to a homicide investigation. I spoke with the CUE center for Missing Persons and they had a search scheduled at the end of this month in the exact area where Morgan was found.

    http://www.michellesigona.com/2010/01/remains-found-on-a-farm-in-virginia/

If the hay field was cut in August would it be waist high again in October? How often is hay cut? Did Bass work his farm by himself or does he hire help?

my theory is….. maybe she got a ride at the bridge and the person driving tried to make advances towards Morgan she opened the car door to jump out….driver drove away and she maybe saw light to farm house was injuried from the fall from car….remember it was really cold and she died from the elements trying to reach the farm house …it was further than it looked….just my theory…I hope it brings the family comfort having her found.

suz – could you post a link to the map on WS? would love to take a look but I’m not good on the search engines. . .TIA!

  36. Melanie says:

So So sad. I feel like I’d gotten to know Morgan a little. Rest in Peace. My condolensces to her family.

  37. Dar says:

Oh Blink and blinketts, I think we all knew this day would come, eventually, but I don’t think we were prepared. I have to agree this is bitter sweet. I am so sorry for what has happened to Morgan, but so relieved that her parents can finally put to rest the thoughts of maybe Morgan is still out there somewhere. The “not knowing” surely has to be worse then “knowing” There are so many wooded areas out there that the perp could have taken Morgan that she may never have been found…I am glad that was not the case. I am glad there is resolution now for her family. My heart broke today as I watched all this unfold, just as everyone else here. My heart is heavy for the Harringtons.

I believe as Skyler does, Morgan was running for her life when whatever happened, happened. I just hope it was quick and she is at peace.

When I started reading your site Blink, I didn’t know what I was getting involved with. I have to say 2-3 months later, I have had the honor of getting to “know” all of you on here. I think about you if you have not posted in awhile, wonder where you are or if you are ok. I have never followed a missing person case in this way, I follow the news but not like this. True crime has always been my choice in life, I just don’t have the brain power that all of you have.

With this said, I too have grown to love each and every one of you. I am so glad to be a part of this from the start and I will be here in the end.

I didn’t sleep very well last night. Beautiful Morgan wouldn’t leave me. Back when this first happened I had a dream of a scarecrow in a field (I know its weird) but the scarecrows face was Morgan and I can remember I sat straight up from this dream, knowing she was in a field of some sort. I never posted this because it was just a dream but now I realize it held some merit and maybe Morgan was trying to tell me something.

Back towards the beginning of all this, and I can’t remember if it was on this site or facebook or where so I can not reference it. I remember some one (a guy) saying that Morgan was suppose to either go to this party and meet up with him, but she never showed. Does anyone else remember seeing that? At the time I thought that was a perfect alibi for him…”yeah she was suppose to meet me but she never showed”….I hope someone can refresh my mind on this.

Reading about the remote area of this farm, I firmly believe the perp knew where he was going and why. I think he told Morgan he would take her to the party and when he detoured she believed his reasons why…until it turned ugly. I am still not convinced he acted alone, just because of the barbed wire fence deal, unless she got through it herself in her fight and flight. Now if there is a gun shot wound, then I firmly believe she was marched out there. I don’t think she was carried….

Someone up thread mentioned the sex offenders, I know I posted this same person months ago saying that if he came upon her, I thought he was cute enough that she would go with him….hes her age, nice looking, probably a sweet talker….

Blink I am sorry this is so long. I sat here yesterday reading everything and my mind is going in 20 different directions with one single outcome…we have found Morgan. She is now at peace knowing she has been found. I firmly believe she also knows we will get to the bottom of this and we will get justice for her. I for one will not quit Morgan until this happens.

I do see a light at the end of the tunnel though. I see the Harringtons doing great things for the missing when they can finally see their way through their grief. They have already started by their trip to DC. Everyone of us here also have the power to do something positive as well. I know I am tired of hearing about all the women and children missing at the hands of some perp (usually male…sorry guys) and society acting like its just another day and another story…..same sh** different day. There has got to be a way to stop this. This is not acceptable at all. (Blink I apolly again for this being so long, I just can’t quit)

My mind is also going back to the recent rape about a month ago. Hispanic driving, white guy grabs the girl and rapes her…..I know there is a theory of a hispanic following behind Morgan, not sure this is true but could it be that he followed her and the other guy was in a vehicle and picked Morgan up and the hispanic before she knew what was happening??? This is not a race bashing so i don’t want to start that….This is what was reported by the rape victim…hispanic male driving, white guy grabbed her and raped her. Just food for thought…..

I also want to tell you a story from my home town. A 20 yr old was involved in drugs. Making/buying and selling. One of their people they got drugs from came to their house one night and 3-4 people there decided to rob him at the word of another man who was not there but seems to be the head cheese…..when they robbed this guy he fell down a flight of stairs, hit his head and died. The 3-4 did not know what to do so one of them called their father and told him what they had done. The son wanted to know where to hide the body….(I am leaving out some very gruesome details…the 3-4 literally cut this poor guy into piece and put him in garbage bags) The father suggested a pond area way out in the boonies, which is where this poor guy was found. The father kept this information to himself and lied to the police when question to save his son. I am happy to report both son and father are now in jail along with the other 2 people involved. The head cheese was shot down and killed by the police in his home. My point to this story is from a post up thread again that mention maybe they called their dad asking what to do with the purse and he was told to take it back to JPJ…almost same scenerio

Okay everyone lets get our goblets and thinking hats and find justice!!!!!!! I love everyone of you and Observer I am so happy you are back.

To the Harringtons…we will not quit Morgan!!!! Sorry again for this being so long….

Looks like everyone else was awake all night, too. Boy this is haunting. I’ve just asked Red Hill local to come over to BOC from the Hook…he or she knows the area all around the farm and might be able to help answer some questions.

I hope you’re right, Blink, that they have a POI. I cannot even make a guess as to who could take the life of this beautiful young woman…I’ll have to dig deep for some patience in these next few days.

Skyler, I’d love to meet you anytime you come to town…

  39. Jane says:

I wonder if Morgan and/or her friends knew that sex offender through partying in the area – possibly a friend of a friend type thing or if this was actually just a random crime?

  40. NYMom says:

Above, Blink says “Hunter.” A sex offender certainly is that.

  41. localcvillegirl says:

    From Red Hill local:

@local – I’ll check your link when I have more time. The house you see up on the mountain to the right at the back of the property (I assume you’re referring to this as rental house) is actually a neighbors home accessible only from 29 3/4 mile north of the Anchorage entrance.

  42. mosaic says:

suz—can you post a link of the “really awesome aerial photo on page 33 of the latest WS thread showing the location of the remains.” I’m not sure what you mean by WS. Thanks a bunch.

  43. localcvillegirl says:

Oh sorry Blink…I may not have been allowed to bring that post over from the Hook?

In any case, hopefully Red Hill local will check in later.

  44. Liam Fahy says:

Blink, Observer, in your opinion can we safely say he came from the JPJ arena that night and observed Ms Harrington in the area her purse was eventually found? He returned to the JPJ arena (not necessarily inside) after murdering her? Possibly his alibi was there? Blink i think you had a person in mind from very early on and for me personally i just couldn`t believe his motives for doing this, it was too hard to get take my thoughts away from others but i was too naive to realise that this was maybe the intention all along. Evil bastard.
In cases like this the death penalty is certainly a light punishment for this animal, i hope he suffers for all his days because the Harrington family will have no end to their suffering.

For everybody: a simple song called “Dear Friends”

So dear friends your love is gone
    Only tears to dwell upon
I dare not say as the wind must blow
So a love is lost, a love is won
Go to sleep and dream again
Soon your hopes will rise and then
From all this gloom life can start anew
And there`ll be no crying soon….

i must of been in the bathroom for the poi part,i have no idea who it is,but “everyone” knows?best poker faces ever, the harringtons and friends and le.i was feeling sorry for lt rader, and his somewhat defensiveness, acting awards for everyone who pretended not to know, and were able to keep it mum.but why?protect the real poi,and throw others names under the bus(hh,nelson, shannon, jeni, wayne)but dont dare mention the real poi.???

#290 kathy, cuz i was about to post this link about magic mushroom hunting : essentials are cattle farm ,after a rain, and dont get stuck on the barb wire fence, jump over the electrical one,and watch out for the farmer, and mushrooms are illegal, dont get caught (reason for going at night (with flashlight),and say the sex pred living close by could have been at tailgate, and asked morgan to go hunt shrooms,or given her a ride and then surprised her with “let’s stop here and grab some shrooms”. but i guess not,it had to of been the person she was texting cuz who else would of known she wasnt inside enjoying metallica .

  46. suz says:

NotJMUfan, huh, thinking about the fence bending scenario, the BG would have to rely on Morgan kindly letting him in, instead of snapping the barbed wire on him like a bear trap. So are we guessing she went willingly and innocently?

  47. susanm says:

actually i do know who it is : BG

  48. George says:

Using the Google Earth maps there is a fence across the back of the farm where Morgan was found. There appears to be a gate in the fence as there are vehicle tracks leading to the fence from another field on the Chopin Road side of the fence. It is 1/4 mile from Chopin Road to the fence and an additional 300 feet to where Morgan was found on the farm. Chopin Road itself seems like it might be a private road also.

  49. SCHokie says:

Suz – can you please post a link? I cannot locate the WS thread.

    TIA

  50. RNmom says:

I may not be the brightest star in the sky, but so many things are popping into my head at this moment. Albemarle, 29, horses, farms, and others that I have heard you guys mention on here. I feel this person is associated with LE or military in some form.

Skyler beautiful post, word girl I always love reading your as well. All of you guys are awesome. Skyler when will you be going to Cville/Roanoke?

I am curious to know if the card was maybe stolen out of her purse after it was separated from Morgan, and the person never reported it due to the mp case and fear of being prosecuted. How far away from where the farm is the store that someone was asking for directions? How far away from this farm is the barn near WT’s house? How far away is this farm from where the house fire was recently?

Also, my daughter will be traveling with her school to Savannah and Orlando next week, I would appreciate any prayers for a safe trip.
