Ode, I suppose a wheelchair could be used, but that terrain looks mighty rough and steep.

I keep waiting for other sites to pick up on the wheelchair theories and mangle them into “Morgan was last seen hitching a ride on a wheelchair”

I hoped beautiful shiny Morgan would come home alive. I had her jumping into a luxury RV and off with a heavy metal rock star or struggling with something and embarresed to come home. Everytime I hear of another mean and evil killing of a child or a woman, I become more angry. What is wrong with our society that we have this? Who are these bad guys? This has to stop!
Blink, yours is a way to combat evil. Never give up.

  3. suz says:

So are we thinking that she gets picked up on the bridge at 9:30 and the perp immediately disbles her phone (either forcably, or with a sly “oh, cool, can I see your phone? i always wanted one of these” and he slips the battery out so that she cannot call for help as he takes her away?

Is he one of those really bad perps that disables the door handle on the passenger side so she can’t escape? Or is she out of it, or unsuspecting because it is an acquaintance?

If the scenario is indeed that the perp returns the purse to the lot, then we can figure the bad deed happened between 9:30 p.m. and dawn—prolly sooner rather than later.

And the camera? Perp used it to take morbid pictures of his victim as a souvenir? It was plain old lost that night? It was still with her in the field?

Perp has the battery? Perp is thought to have flung the battery out the window, thus the median strip search along 64 or 84 or whatever that big road is?

Sorry I was wrong about the way the guy died….that was a different case….

this is basically food for thought if indeed a father was called to help in anyway, that is obstruction of justice, a fifth-degree felony, the maximum sentence is 1 year in prison.

As a parent of a female student at another Virginia College – a student who has visited Charlottesville for various events several times – I have followed this case since October. (Of course hoping for a better outcome than the one at hand.) Thinking back to various thoughts and theories, I do have on question. It looks to me from various maps that the location where Morgan was found in on a likely route from Charlottesville to Rocky Mount, VA. Have all theories about person(s) from Rocky Mount been completely resolved?

  7. Maryann says:

I have only commented once before, but I am so horrified and saddened by this news. I was actually praying that she had taken off and was going to come home (I know the evidence suggested foul play, but I hoped).

My thoughts and prayers are with her family and I hope Morgan is at peace.

  8. Judi says:

I have to admit, I was quite upset over this. My husband asks me why I allow myself to get so emotionally attached.

I’ll tell you why…it ignites fire of anger inside of me. Yes, I get angry. I get angry when I think about what Morgan, and other victims, suffered and endured at the hands of another human being. Angry that someone (and I will not call them a human being because they are not, they are monsters) believes that they can take away what God has given. Angry that a mother lost a child she carried and had growing inside of her, delivered, held, stayed up all night with when sick, nourished and cared for and raised into a beautiful adult. Yet, the individual responsible has surely carried on with their life that they are still alive to live. Yes, it angers me and I am not a person who gets angry over much – I am usually the calm person. But, these things anger me. And, it makes you wish there was something, anything you can do to help comfort the people who have had the hearts ripped out of their chests and also to help put the monster behind bars.

But, alas, what can we do? This is where I am so grateful that we all have Blink. Blink gives us a place to come, share our thoughts and feelings, and gives us the chance that colectively maybe we can do something.

And, although I know nobody on this board personally, I feel that we are all brought together by this common feeling that we all share when it comes to these things, every last body on here brings something to the table. So, I view everyone on this boards as indeed friends.

And, friends, we are not done with Morgan until the person who has done this horrific crime is caught and punished for it. And, we all must remain to support and pray for the Harringtons.

And, when this case is over, I am sure we will all be brought together again, right here on Blink’s board to come together and try to find justice for someone else. Because, unfortunately, evil is still out there BUT so is the good and united, the good WILL prevail.

My prayers and absolute heart felt sympathy to the Harrington family. Words cannot express how sorry I am that their precious child has been ripped away from them. As a parent, I can only imagine their pain and it deeply saddens me.

Right now, I am imagining Morgan in my head dancing with the angels, no pain or sorrows or tears, just peace.

  9. Rob says:

    Good day.

Prayers once again for Morgan, her family and all those that knew and loved her. When a young person loses their life – it always seems that much harder. Someone who hasn’t even had the chance to live and it’s all over. I know there are those here that are thankful for the lessons learned and I guess in a small way – it’s a consolation.

I could hardly sleep last night. It was just one of those nights that don’t seem to happen to me too often anymore – but – every now and then a case just hurts my heart.

I was interested in Morgan’s case for a few reasons. I haven’t been posting on any cases in the last 5 or so months simply because life seems to get in the way every now and then. I wish I could have assisted Morgan more. I have read when time permitted and I have followed very closely – well, as closely as I could.

I have always been interested in missing persons and I have a connection to Charlottesville – although it’s been more than 20 years since I was last there – but I loved my time there and the beauty of Virginia. What a spectacular state. I was born in Norfolk when my father was in the navy. And, I have always been a huge Metallica fan. I have seen Metallica many times, and although I wouldn’t travel far to see them now – I would have traveled almost anywhere to see them when I was 20. I had the luxury of being young when Metallica was NEW and different. Ohh those were the days. I saw Metallica when Cliff Burton was still alive, Dave Mustaine was still the lead singer / lead guitarist and James Hetfeild only played guitar – so, I have just dated myself.

In almost all of the cases I have followed there have been what I would call very odd coincidences. These are just mind blowing and seem to have a connection that WILL solve the case. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.

I could list a few – the text(s) to the boy 60 miles away, the purse in the lot, the phone with the battery missing, unknown and unexplained reason for leaving the arena, trying to get back in the arena, cut to chin, etc etc etc. There are quite a few puzzle pieces in this case but I wonder how many are really of the utmost importance. I don’t know and the police have been very very guarded on the issues we KNOW about. I would suspect there are other issues that have not been disclosed and rightfully so. I would never expect the police to reveal all they know. I don’t think anyone expects the police to reveal everything – not even in an extremely old cold case.

I would image that the location of Morgan’s discovery will aid the police tremendously. Having knowledge and access to the area will lead the police to someone. Also, I believe that someone has seen the car that Morgan entered at the far end of the bridge. So, that car will be of extreme importance (provided the police are correct and she was hitching and did enter a car and was not seen again after the bridge).

At this point, I would speculate that the case is a technical jigsaw puzzle. Meaning – technical forensic data, although I hope that many of the pieces are already in place and someone is on the radar.

It is also possible that someone of interest has sold a car in Albemarle County around the time Morgan went missing and I hope the police have explored that possibility.

I realize that many people think that Morgan knew the person. And I respect that opinion. Maybe Morgan did know this person – I don’t know yet, but others may. In a way – it makes it a little easier to swallow that she has lost her life. Life is the most precious gift we will ever have. Love being second. To think that someone has lost their life and it could have been avoided simply by avoiding a stranger is alot easier for most people to accept. This in no way places any blame on Morgan, so please don’t take my words for that at all. There is nothing wrong with trusting people and expecting the best. Human nature is to be trusting and allow people into our lives. Companionship is part of God’s plan for all of us.

Well, I’ve rambled long enough. I hope today brings justice for Morgan one day closer and those that loved and cared for Morgan allow God to keep them close – in his loving arms.

    Prayers for Morgan

With what we now know and the way our theories are going, the thing that keeps coming to mind for me is the alleged sighting of Morgan at the 7-11 on Ivy Rd. that evening. It was mentioned on a previous thread, but I don’t have the time right now to go looking for it. The jist of it, though, is that she was in that store with a young man with tattoos on his arms. They made some purchases (perhaps with her card?), then got in a van and drove off. There may have even been other people in the van. If this is true, I sincerely hope that 7-11 had serveillance cameras that picked them up.

So the theory could now go that this person either picked her up on the bridge, or it could have even been one of the people/groups she was seen talking to in the JPJ/UHall/RV lots. There may have been the promise of a party, she agrees to go with them, they stop at 7-11 and then go to the farm, and it all goes downhill from there.

Exactly my thinking. I grew up on a dairy farm with lots of cattle and we had electric barbed wire fences all around and I know how to get through them easliy.
I can see the fence line on the property but now not so sure where on the property she was found.
With all of Blinks comments it seems we have a POI who was a “friend” and knows this area very well.
Any one of the “friends” ever worked or have relatives in this immediate area who had muddy shoes, scratches on his face and/or hands?

  13. suz says:

Word Girl, wow, i had missed the part about the electric fences for his horses. What kind of kooky horses need electric fences??? What does he have, wild stallions? That seems ridiculous to me.

  14. suz says:

Wait, is he a horse breeder? Hmmm, maybe he DOES have stallions, in which case the electric fence would make more sense.

  15. notJMUfan says:

@ ode – it probably could be on flat land or paved but I doubt going through a field. She either walked or ATV or 4 wheeler was prob used. Most farms have a 4-wheeler or old golf cart or something like that to get around. There ARE 4 wheel drive 4-wheelers available so the fact that it took a “4 wheel drive vehicle” to get to that location does not necessarily prohibit the use of something smaller than a tractor.

  16. Marci says:

My heart is just breaking over this. On one hand I am so happy that she has been found and that the family can have “some type” of peace with having their little angel back. But on the other hand I so wanted to keep the hope that she was still alive out there some where. My prayers go out the family and all of you on here that have worked and contributed so much.

Please understand I am not putting blame on the friends by any means and I know they must be in much pain and sadness…
With that being said I still have these lingering thoughts/questions running through my brain…
What was the communication, after she was not allowed back in, with the friends? Why would they leave with out her in her car with out first notifying police or her family??? I try to put myself in this situation and wonder how I would have handled it.. I can see myself “maybe” leaving a friend behind after partying IF we were all a VERY short distance from location to location and ONLY if I knew who she was with… I wouldn’t just drive away with not knowing any of this…

Like I mentioned I am not trying to point any fingers and I am just putting down what has bothered me from day one. I think there has to be more to the communication between the friends after she left the concert that we do not know about…

    RIP Morgan

  17. chitown Lady says:

most farmers use barb wire for fencing. its not actually all that high. usually 3-4 feet. could she step over it? HELL NO! Yeah know, she could have very well just been tossed over that fence, from a
moving pick-up truck. we might not ever know. I have always felt that there was something else going on with Morgan that night. There are a few things that never added up. I can not believe she was just plucked off and poof! I have long felt she was suppose to meet up with someone. Was the concert just a rouse? No…Her actions as they were reported just never added up. Basketball players and of course her dear friends…..Me thinks her friends should be talked to again. I think we are all gonna be surpised who it is when they catch this person…

My sincere heartfelt condolences to the Harrington family. Morgan is in the Lords hands now. This family has shown the most grace and class in the face of their own living hell I have ever seen.

    God speed Morgan!

@357, Sherlock: I agree re: the other house, and that’s why I wondered above about anyone who might have had foresight that discovery was nigh. What do you all think? Think anyone in the other N Garden house worked Mr. Bass’ land? Or maybe a party guest at the other N Garden house worked Mr. Bass’ land/lived on it?

As far as cover, though: I still believe it’s possible a decent attempt to cover the body was made. No buzzards, at least none that anyone noticed (and honestly, a lot of people travel Red Hill Rd. There are a surprising number of small properties [my husband rented one during a year of grad school, and the place terrified all his city friends]). Then tons of snow and most recently all that rain, which in my totally-ignorant-of-this opinion, might have washed away any earth that covered her body, bless her.

To Skyler: I *love* your donation idea. I went to findmorgan.com to see if I could find the name of the charity for Zambia and try to put contact info out here, b/c I intend to follow your suggestion. I bet most of us would. I didn’t find the official name but will keep looking. In my blog search, though, I found this letter from Morgan to her dad (different, I think, than one that was posted here earlier), and it perfectly illustrates the true character of the woman we’ve lost (don’t read it if you are somewhere you can’t get a bit choked up). Gil is right: She was an original. I can say with certainty that the 17- to 19-year-old me would not have had the same insight or kind words for my dad, regardless of the man he was (thank God Morgan left him this treasure):

Hugs to all of you. I am going to just try to watch and wait, since Blink believes an arrest is imminent.

  19. suz says:

M, I assumed Rader meant that they wouldn’t have bothered searching in such a remote part of the field–but who knows, he could have meant something else.

I’m a cynic, so i think he was saying “Look, we didn’t blow it by not searching there, even tho it was within a 10 mile radius of her disappearance—really, we prolly wouldn’t have found her anyway” you know—CYA. But like I said, I’m pretty cynical.

  20. Susan says:

From the location of Morgan, the perp seems like a relatively young person (knew the area from parties) (or older person who hung out with young people and therefore knew the area from parties) who had at least some degree of personal relationship with Morgan (she trusted him/her enough to go with him/her from 29). I do not think this was a serial killer as the body was not buried or destroyed. Also, earlier accounts from Farmer Bass stated that the remains were clad in dark clothing. Later accoutns say there was clothing near the remains. If clad, I am apt to question the gender of the perp (no nudity, we may have a female perp or perps). If not clad, well, then the obvious horrors.

What a sad way for this case to end. I was so upset to hear the news from your site yesterday. I was thinking of the access points to the farm. Is there anyway that due to the heavy rain in the area that a creek/pond/river overflowed and carried her down to her ultimate resting place? Just wondering if there are bodies of water in the area and where they lead to…..just hoping she wasn’t “marched” to her death. As a mom I just cannot handle that thought of this poor girl. In college we as women feel so fearless and adventurous. I just hope she didn’t suffer but by the way they are not saying how her body was I imagine it was not a pretty site. RIP Morgan.

Blink or any others any links to the area with bodies of water would be appreciated. Thanks!

Open letter from President Charles W. Steger regarding the loss of Morgan Harrington
    By Charles W. Steger

BLACKSBURG, Va., January 26, 2010 — For more than three months, the entire Virginia Tech community, along with thousands upon thousands around the world, has held out hope for the safe return of Morgan Harrington.

Sadly, today’s news from Albemarle County has put an end to that hope, and once again, we find our strength and resilience tested in the face of profound grief and loss.

Amidst this overwhelming sadness, perhaps the most important work we can do is to turn our efforts toward the support of Morgan’s family, her friends, and those in our community who may well struggle to cope with this terrible tragedy.

There can be little doubt that many here and elsewhere will be deeply affected by today’s sad news, and, as we have done in the past, I am confident that we will be sensitive and aware of both our own needs, and those of our colleagues and fellow students around us. Sherlock I would, in the interest of trying to figure out what happened to Morgan, challenge your statement that Morgan’s body wasn’t well-hidden. If she was placed in the hayfield on October 17/18, I think her body would have been well-hidden. According to the State Police press conference yesterday, the hayfield where Morgan was found was last cut in August of 2009, causing the hay to be waist-high on the night Morgan vanished. I think waist-high hay is a much better hiding place for a prone body than even a wooded area would be, especially if the perp(s) know enough about farming and that area to know the hayfield would be left alone until winter was over. Waist-high hay would be more cover than the low-lying foilage that carpets the floor of woods. I think this would ake your 3rd proposal, which I quote as follows, more plausible.

“How she got to that property from JPJ is the crux of the matter.
There appear to be three possible BG options:
    1. This was an ex BF who knew her.
    2. This was a stranger she met at the concert who gave her a ride, hoping to get lucky. He lost his cool and killed her unplanned.
    3. This was a perp who just got lucky and saw her in the lot after the LOG show. He was looking for a victim.
The problem with #3 is – the body was not hidden. Either a serial perp who has killed before or someone who was looking to rape and kill a young girl had a PLAN, therefore he would have also prepared the means to bury the body, or dispose of it where it would remain hidden for a longer time. Even if he was familiar with the property area (which we believe he was) he surely would know that a farmer or hunter (or dogs) would surely find her soon. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe most predatory perps of this type usually hide their victims pretty thoroughly. Doesn’t fit that pattern.”

I have felt that the perp wasn’t an ex boyfriend, unless the ex-BF is an accomplished or remarkably cool-headed or lucky criminal, because I think an ex BF would have been impulsive and unprepared to handle the aftermath of his rage, and therefore that Morgan would have been found almost immediately after her demise. He probably would have been one of the first to be questioned and perhaps had his car, home and person searched for evidence, which would have led police to her. I think your number 3 is plausible, because of the length of time it has taken Morgan to be found, and found completely by accident.

Blink, when I read your belief that Morgan was walked into the area of the farm where she was found, it made me think of an execution, and then think why for God’s sake would anyone want to basically assassinate a sweet young woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. This leads me to think that the #3 scenario above is plausible, and that the perp could be a female-hating predator who trolled an area where he expected to find young women looking for a victim. He may have even known whether or not the farm was occupied the night of 10/17/09. I am curious to know whether or not the Basses were home that weekend, and hence available or unavailable to hear or see any disturbance, but the police probably won’t say.

If the perp is someone who knew Morgan, and not a predator out looking for victims who were strangers, I think he has a deep-seated rage about something (rejection, females in general) and already knew he wanted to kill her or at least hurt her badly before he picked her up, and not someone who just wanted to spend time with her and then got into an argument with her that escalated. I think this because most “crimes of passion” end up making a lot of messy noise and result in 911 calls and immediate melodrama.

Also, in reference to this post: “Comment by suz — January 27, 2010 @ 7:30 am

    1) Does LE in fact have have her on video in or outside of the arena?

    2) Did anyone actually see her get into a car and if so, see what kind?

    3) Was the card that was used after 9:30 found with the purse? Was it caught on any bank camera or store camera when used or attempted to be used?

    4) Can it be verified where the BB players went after 9:20PM? Was it to a “farmhouse party” by any chance. I keep going back to the limo driver, seeing her walk off with 4 people, laughing and so on. Where they headed to a party “only 20 minutes away until her friends were out of the concert”?

AND, WHO RENTS THE HOUSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE DRIVEN BY TO GET UP TO WHERE MORGAN WAS FOUND?

I REALLY, REALLY HOPE BLINK IS RIGHT AND THAT THEY DO KNOW THE WHO AND AN ARREST WILL BE MADE RIGHT QUICK SO THAT THIS PERSON DOES NOT GET TO “MOVE ON WITH HIS LIFE” FOR ONE MORE DAY – MORGAN DIDN’T GET TO MOVE ON WITH HER LIFE FOR ANY MORE DAYS.

Chad your post 365, how beautiful and just what I needed to read and now is a good time to tell all the “regular” posters including yourself that I truly appreciate you and all you have done to show your compassion and love for Morgan and her family. And Blink, many thanks to you for being the conduit….you are amazing and inspirational on many levels.

  35. Chad says:

A couple of things before I take off for work:

Mom.3, Fish, Rabbit: I think we should take a harder look at (P)OYE and Roxie(y) previous posts. Both have now apparently so more credibility than just speculation now, considering that Morgan was found, and where. Fish: I know that in Roxies post, she describes a hypothetical situation for Morgan the night of. One portion of her post describes a friend of the group having scratches and injuries on their face, that was explained away when the friends questioned. You mention in your above post, that Morgan probably fought back. I believe she probably did too, which would result in injury to her perp.
Mom.3, can you help me retrieve that archived post? I just can’t seem to move m cheese from the “friends”.

Hi ya Suz: Yes, the purse is a problem. I call it the PP, ie…the purse problem. I am leaning still towards it being staged after the fact. Perhaps the perp came back later that night, and threw it there.
I have always been of the opinion, but with no proof, just a strong belief, that Morgan was lured out of the arena by the perp. Still do not know if the stolen purse report was part of the scheme. Dunno.

Moving forward with this new developement of finding Morgan, does debunk some theories, and also solidifies others. We just need to tweek those, and fine tune them.

Blink, this is very sad indeed, but hopeful if evidence leads to an arrest and prosecution. Please only post if you believe it is relevant.

If this field is the back SW part of Blandemar Farm that has a wooded area that separates it from Red Hill Road, I can say that it is accessible via an unpaved, bumpy road with a non-4-wheel drive vehicle. While delivering Express Mail for the USPS around 6 years ago I had a package for the owner at that time (I can’t print who here as Postal regulations would not permit it). I believe she is no longer the owner though. Anyway, the mailbox for this address was on Red Hill Rd and this patch of woods and the field were between Red Hill Rd and the main house on Blandemar Farm. The road next to the mail box was both unpaved and little used, but since Express Mail has to get there by 3:00, I drove my Postal vehicle (the ones you see everywhere; LLV Long Life vehicle which I believe is based on a small 2 wheel drive Ford pickup chassis with a 4 cyl Escort engine) onto that road that wound through that woods and emptied out onto the field. I followed the “road”, which was at this point really just the ruts left from pickup trucks or tractors from the past, out to I belive Waldemar Drive and on to the main house on this nicely paved road. LLV’s are rear wheel drive and light in the rear and notorious for getting stuck in mud or snow unless they are using chains on the tires. The fact is that I got mine through there without getting stuck, although I was a bit scared that I would. Also, all of this road and field area are very secluded from view of Red Hill Road and Waldemar Drive.

    TY Cville Conc-
I am of the opinion that while I maintain the area where Morgan was found is quite remote, it is accessible “offroad” in more than one or two areas.

I haven’t had a chance to read all the posts, so this may have been mentioned already. I was trying to go to bed but couldn’t sleep, so I started reading some comments from The Hook.

This person keeps mentioning Chopin Rd at the back of the Bass farm, and a huge barn/Rv garage and possible place to party.

The house in the back on chopin road has a Freekin RV BARN!!!

    Travel lite January 26th, 2010 | 10:03 pm
If you look at google maps in the back of Bass’s farm in what he should consider the remote area on the other side of the fence their is huge barn big enough to hol four RV’s and I also see a ring my best guess is for parties. zoom all the way in on chopin rd

Broken wood lines hay field down below.

She could have been parting there and didn’t want her friends know, wondered down through the woods and coded in the field.

    THANKS in advance!

It is misdescribed in my opinion. It’s no where the body was found, but rather it is where LE parked before walking up to the body. The location marked is a mashup of GoogleEarth and the WTVR shots from a helicopter.

    Yes, that is “interpretive.”

  41. localcvillegirl says:

Hey Suz, I don’t think Dave Bass is a horse breeder, just a horse owner. We keep our horse and cattle seperate, too…the horses have a regular 3 board fence with one strand of electric wire running along the inside to keep them from pushing through to eat on the other side. Our cattle sometimes share this fence with the wire, but they are easily contained by barbed wire, which is cheaper and easier to maintain, especially on the back fields. On front fields it is common to run barbed wire just inside a board fence, but on the back it’s common to just run the wire between posts. It’s pretty easy to lift and push wire between posts when you have to crawl through.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Mr. Bass’s very large property had trespassers anywhere out of view of his house. We have property in a more remote county in Virginia, and on ours, we’ve even bumped into to two chainsaw carrying guys, waiting on their wives with a pick up truck to haul away all the firewood they’d just cut. We frequently have to deal with finding tree stands on neighboring property that are positioned for hunting on our land. It sometimes pays to lease out your land to a responsible hunter…at least that way someone is keeping an eye on the place. When you have cattle or other livestock it’s important to know exactly who is hunting on your property. I’m sure Mr. Bass is taking stock of any leases or hunters he’s allowed over the years, but these people usually show respect for the land. It’s more likely someone who just knows the property…trespassing, partying, I don’t know.

  42. TheOtherD says:

Would you climb over barbed wire in a miniskirt? It took the owner of the farm 30 minutes to walk from the area of the body site to call the police at the house- that’s what was on the news. He was walking with purpose.
Now, I am a walker and walked about 3 miles yesterday. Level terrain, good shoes, daylight. Even though I was walking with purpose and knew my route, I was still fatigued after 20 minutes… and I’m in relatively good shape. Let’s just say I know what it’s like to be tipsy- at those times I have not walked with purpose… except to shelter or to lie down somewhere. I have never been drunk enough to walk out into a cow field with dressy (probably high-heeled) boots on. I would think that if she was inebriated, she would have chosen to pass out near one of the houses or sheds.
Another comment on the terrain of a farm. One of our friends has a farm which sounds similar to the Bass farm. There’s a grove of trees in the back of it- huge property. He took me out to look at the property on a golf cart and I had a carbonated beverage that was flat by the time we got back to the house. I was glad that day for a good support bra:-)It would have been hellacious to walk, and I was in sneakers that day. Besides for the cow-poo bombs all around, the ground was uneven and much of it was overgrown. I will never believe that she wandered out, a half hour’s distance from the end of the drive, in a miniskirt, to take a nap.
BTW, someone asked last night… It was Mark Klaas, Polly’s father who talked about this last night on NG.

    No way.

There are only 2 scenarios in my mind, and frankly I decided the second I saw her location.

    1. She walked there in 40 degrees, pouring rain in some instances, or just misty, cold, and probably muddy for some reason.
    2. She was forced by some means to get out and walk it, by threat.

If we believe #2, and there are a great many of us that do- Don’t we also believe this had to have been planned?

If someone could bust my original profile of this case, I would probably work a little more productively being less freaked out- which is rare for me.

  43. Observer says:

As I drove to my meeting this morning, instead of focusing on the agenda (as I should have been), I instead had this thought:

Let’s each honor Morgan’s memory by doing something kind for someone else today. Something special, unexpected and meaningful. Something that you know will bring a smile to the face of the recipient. Don’t tell anyone else what you did; just do it.

And then think of the smile that might cross Morgan’s face if she was watching you. And then know that she is…

And for the parents out there reading this: as you’re saying goodnight to your kids tonight, give them an extra-close hug. Tell them that you love them and you cherish them. Hold onto them tightly, just for one more second. And know that that one extra second is one that Gil and Dan Harrington wish they had to share with their dear, sweet Morgan.

Fantastic Idea, I love it. Thank you O.

Sorry — I should have added this link — trying to sneak peaks between work duties — this is the organization Gil works for and Morgan volunteered —

I do want to say this — the ME in Richmond is one of the best in the world — literally — if evidence exists, she WILL find it — she will treat Morgan with love and respect –

As difficult as it is, right now, we need to step back and let science take over for just a bit. If there is evidence recovered from Morgan and matching evidence, DNA, etc. in the criminal database, Blink’s instincts are right on the money — arrest will be made post haste. I pray if they offer this guy a “deal” it’s life in prison as opposed to the death penalty — the death penalty is easy — you lay on a table, they anesthesize you (I used to know how to spell that word) so you don’t feel any pain — and you freaking go to sleep — it’s all over in about 5 mins.– life behind bars, however, is a different matter altogether —

I have zero doubt and absolute full confidence this person will be caught very soon —

I intend to go to whatever memorial service the Harringtons plan — would love to meet up w/ anyone who wants to go –

Here’s the link to the organization —

and google maps, the location of where her body was found is indicated in the dot within the RED circle, (the X pattern of trees) the BLUE circles are houses. based on this I think the person stopped somewhere in the area indicated by a green circle in the top right part of the image. I think the other areas would have been too risky to be seen, I also believe, based on this info, that this guy KNOWS the area VERY well and is local.

That location hides her from every house, fyi.

What Bass found were badly decomposed human remains and some clothing in an area so remote, he only visits once or twice a year when he’s checking his fences, a pasture that would have been waist-high when Morgan Harrington disappeared.

I know a POI hasn’t been confirmed as of yet. But, if you want to give credit to the dogs- my understand is Morgan’s scent was picked up near Wild Wings Cafe downtown. One particular 20 yr. POI that keeps coming to my mind works a hop skip and a jump away from WWC. Just dots I was attempting to connect. Is it possible that this guy may have gone to this location afterwards with MH’s scent on his own clothing?

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) – Law enforcement has confirmed today that the body found at Anchorage Farm in Albemarle County Tuesday morning is, in fact, that of Morgan Harrington.

Confirmation was made through dental records provided by the family.

Police officers, investigators and forensics technicians are back out today resuming their search for evidence in the Morgan Harrington investigation.

Dozens of members of the Regional Tactical Field Force Team from Appomattox are on hand to grid search the 750-acre farm where skeletal remains were found. The team will walk every inch of the farm today looking for clues.

    STATEMENT BY DR. DAN HARRINGTON

“Morgan’s mother, Gil, and I are overwhelmingly saddened by yesterday’s discovery, but we are also relieved because our questions can now be answered and we can give our daughter a proper burial. We know that because of the good life Morgan led and the love she created for everyone around her, she is now in a safer, better place. We appreciate everyone’s respect for our privacy at this difficult time and we thank everyone who has helped us through this tragedy and helped us find Morgan.”
