Abemarle County, VA– On the 100 acre parcel of the over 700 acre farm owned by Nancy and David Bass where Morgan Harrington’s remains were recovered yesterday, there may be clues of the furry variety that lead to the identity of Morgan’s murderer.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source inside the investigation has told blinkoncrime.com that questions raised here regarding private deer hunting on the farm have been verified by Virginia State Police.

Anchorage Farm owners do allow some private hunting members and maintains a list of those individuals permitted to do so.

From the time Morgan disappeared and presumably ended up in the hayfield, both archery and firearm deer seasons were in full swing.

Big Brother, or in this case Uncle Buck, was watching.

Camera

Blink, what is that ugly azz thing you say?

It might be sweet Morgan’s Ruth Cooper.

The Cuddeback Scouting Camera with Video and Infared technologies from Cabelas. This is one example of tree trunk and tree stand cutting edge technology that is motion activated with high resolution images on several settings.

Not to be outdone: The Moultrie Game Spy, which you can use to watch your prey like a surveillance screen in real time.

This is another example of the varieties that were in place the night of October 17th.

Morgan was found in a field, almost smack dab in the middle of surrounding tree line’s loaded with tree stands and tree cameras.

She was found without her camera and necklace; both of which have not been located to date.

VSP has been provided the list of known hunters at Anchorage Farm, and are in the process of interviewing them.

If you have hunted the property this season, VSP would appreciate a call:(434) 352-3467

Whoa whoa whoa, people. Back up the (Metro) train.

No. 1, David is a prominent PR gas bag, who is *married* and lives in *DC* with his two kids.

    He. Is not. Kickee.

… and he *is* facing federal charges for being a drunk jacka*s on an airplane, so let’s not pile on to his lengthy Google-search woes.

Yep, except his name is Dass and the Farmers is Bass.
    B

It was worth reviewing. Same name as farmer with the same age as kickee.

could “granny sighting” and kickee be the same?

Kickee was around 9pm. Granny was 9:30. To tie them together would mean it went on for approx. 30 minutes

    Specifically comments #18, 32, 38, 39, 51

Was evidence relating to Morgan being stored in that home as a favor or as curiosity? Did a resident of that home, who regularly explores/uses the Bass property, find evidence related to Morgan?

In regards to the woman’s dream and the faux wood almost yellow door. My parents own an older 1995 RV with a faux wood door that has yellowed over the years due to heat and sun exposure. Makes me think of possible RV lot sighting. Hmmmm.

    lizzy – re: dudes
I don’t know who they are indentity-wise (don’t beleive she knew them in advance, at this point); maybe just some guys around her age and style whom she identified with (as opposed to 44-year-old Kickee and his unwanted outreach).

All I know is they’re my new prime DOI. (Dudes of Interest)

Blink, I don’t know if this is helpful, but I come from a family of hunters. Not just hunters, but every animal in season kind of hunters. In Virginia from Sept 2 all the way through to April there is some kind of ground mammal that is in season. It starts with deer and goes clear through bear, bobcat, skunk, turkey and foxes which are in season almost year round. That being said, I am hopeful that some of the hunters on Anchorage are like my male kin. That means that they hunt as much as they can year round and they leave their cameras up and maintained throughout these seasons. The cameras may be moved occasionally, but they never really leave the hunting area. This would greatly increase the chances of catching this jerk. Go Blink and team!!!

has the “scalper” angle been considered??

they are usually pretty shady characters, and with such a big act like Metallica, I’m sure they were aplenty, and I’m sure she passed a few on the edges of the arena property…??

  9. suz says:

The Hook said long ago that the granny sighting had been discredited, so I put it out of my mind at that point. However, with all the sloppy reporting in this case from ALL media sources, who knows.

Re Sam — Hmmmmm, I didn’t think about the scanners. Good point. Maybe she figured she could tell some story about having come outside to meet up with kickee, and security would take pity and let her through with her stub. It would be nice to know some more details about this encounter, such as which direction she allegedly tried to pull kickee, and how many other people were around when it happened (like the four guys she allegedly crossed Massie with and shook her leg at in what one poster has already noted could have been a pantomime of her encounter with kickee).

  12. ZX6R boss says:

IMO I truly believe a serial killer could be involved in this. Now think about it…A metallica show is going to draw people from the region, and even neighboring states. If police can link a suspected serial killer from a neighboring state, whose MO for victims is similiar to MH and ALSO link them to the Metallica concert (ie went to theshow) on Oct17 in Cville, then maybe that is a lead that needs to be heavily looked into! Does anybody else agree? How feasable is it for a killer to think he will get away scott free if this murder is outside of his “territory”. As for the location of the farm being used for the “dump site”, tis could be a red herring because it is quite natural to think that someone who would use that as thier spot to hide a body, would have to be familiar with the area! I hope VSP are thinking outside of the box.

Im off to class, I hope for any news when I log back in in a few hours.

    Justice is on the way

Great blog. Just a word to supplement Red Hill, who knows the farm as I don’t.

I visit friends a mile away two or three times a year and always go walking on the local roads when I’m there, mostly on Blandemar Dr.

I once looped down by the pond and onto Chopin Dr. and felt very uncomfortable, like I was walking through someone’s yard. (That’s the house and large barn/garage you see to the south of the pond.)

That road may be public technically, but it doesn’t feel like it; you’re walking pretty close to a couple of houses. There is no way on God’s green earth that a vehicle could pull past that house on Chopin and not be noticed. Basically, it’s a road you have no business on unless you’re invited to the house.

    Out of consideration for a few individuals I now know, who know this gentlemen, I will simply say this;

In what appears to be completely unrelated incident, the former sherriff of Greene County, VA committed suicide this afternoon.
    Willie Morris. RIP
    B

  21. sueK says:

    Thank you, Localcville girl.

What is the tone there in your home town since Morgan has been found?

  22. juliemooly says:

I walked away from the computer for a while and realized I posted that link about the former Sheriff’s self-inflicted shooting pretty callously, as if I knew anything about the cause of it. I am just finding myself getting really involved emotionally as this case unfolds, and I am looking for coincidences as I see that things are coming together for us web-sleuths, amateur as I may be, and that things are (hopefully) falling apart for the perp(s). A suicide would not be unheard of if a bad guy thought arrest was iminent, and I jumped to conclusions about someone I don’t even know. Morris is not even dead…he’s at the hospital.

That said, I find myself impatiently waiting for Jay Leno to stop whining on Oprah about his pitiful life, and wanting the 5:00 news to start NOW. I keep asking myself why I volunteered on the search weekend, and went out on a search, and get so obsessed with this case when new findings are made. Why do I want to know more NOW? I think it’s because it’s local, and I can relate to being Morgan’s age and in her shoes so many times, as so many of us are on this site. My only kid is a dog, so I just can’t even imagine her parents’ pain, and of all the people I’ve lost, none of them have been to violence. All my siblings are alive and well and annoy me as much as I annoy them, so I really can’t relate to Alex’ pain. I just want justice for Morgan, and I SO agree with Gil when she said that we have to find a way to get society to stop seeing women as prey. A good friend has a 13-year-old girl and tells me stories about her friends that chill me. I know I’m getting older but times have CHANGED. According to her friend employed on a college campus, date rape drugs are used frequently, easily accessed, and the YOUNG WOMEN know this, as do the guys, and the “good guys” (the non-rapists, I guess), do nothing to call out the “bad guys”. When I type this, I think of Lt. Rader not feeling the need to alert the C-ville community about a bad guy because it seems like it’s redundant. They are starting to be everywhere. Look at the posts on boc about the registered sex offenders in every state. I just saw a news report today that somewhere, a truck driver wrecked and killed the person he rear-ended because he was watching porn on a laptop while driving. Sexual addiction and violence are everwhere.

Speaking of addiction, and sorry for the rant, the news is on and I have to watch it.

  23. skyler says:

if someone has posted this already, I apologize —

I was reading on morgan facebook. Dan and Gil are going to be on Nancy Grace and Jane VM tonight — on the Today Show tomorrow —

God bless them — still they’re thinking of other people and their safety –

  24. localcvillegirl says:

sueK, I think everyone here is absolutely devastated. It’s been a hard time since Morgan disappeared…she’d become one of our own, everyone’s daughter and sister. I know that I’ve been haunted by the fact that she was last seen at a place I’ve either driven by or run by literally hundreds of times, and she was found so close to where I live. I really feel for the Basses, they are good, good people. If there is any consolation in this, it’s that Morgan was left on beautiful land that belongs to loving parents. They didn’t know it, but they were somehow holding her in their arms until Dan and Gil could find her again.

This is getting more and more like a David Lynch film every hour.
Is Greene County near any of the affected areas. Strange. I am sorry for the loss to this gentleman’s family. I hope it was unrelated. But odd. I am waiting for the log lady to make an appearance.

Next door, and home to some of the parties we have discussed.

OMG! What is happening in the Charlottesville area? How many coincidences does it take before we all say it is not a coincidence? Could these events all be related to Morgan death? Naw……these are just perhaps everyday crimes that happen in a college town? I dunno.

We have a fire, we have a bomb, now we have a suicide, a sheriff nonetheless? 1 day after Morgans body is found?

Localcville: I too believe that the Bass family indeed held Morgan in their arms. I am just so glad that they found Morgan. Unfortunately, some missing parents never find their missing children……

SueK, is it really your birthday too, or did you get winged by the friendly fire of Granmomma’s wish that was (possibly) intended for me?
Happy Birthday to everyone whose Birthday it is and Forgive me for missing it

  32. Red Hill local says:

Agreed localcvillegirl, I too feel so bad for Mr Bass as he will have to live with this gruesome discovery for the rest of his life. Truly great people. And yes, Morgan’s spirit will have a wonderful, scenic view.

@been there – A drive down Chopin Rd is not a drive down a public road as you say. It IS like pulling into someone’s driveway and, unless you live there, way too likely to alert the residents.

Let’s hope they’re gathering interogating the students and hunters as we speak. My gut says they’re going to catch him ….soon.

    Red Hill-
You have any thoughts as to whether the fire is related?

  42. Chad says:

    Suz,

I’n there with yas. Check out previous thread. SGM posted over there. He thinks a warning to the friends not to talk. (bomb)

  43. Red Hill local says:

B – Everything I’ve heard from the local fire boys is that it is completely unrelated, simply an accidental house fire. The timing of the fire, and ex-sheriff Morris committing suicide and mere coincidences. Willie had been having major health problems, and there was concern over possible steroid use over the years of his weight lifting. He was the sheriff of Greene Co, the county neighboring Albemarle to the north. But you’re also talking about 6 miles to C’ville, thru town and then 15 miles north, so some ways away.

Is he related to Steve Morris, whose house burned down last week?
    B

  44. DTA says:

    Blink,
Can I post this? If not it is ok just delete.
Just read on the FM site that there is a rumor that Morgan had an arguement with an ex on October 16 and that he lives in Cville area and he hunts. Says he was abusive in the past. Is this possible? This is the second time I have read this.

  45. Jane says:

Oops, I posted this on the other thread…Could that RSO have known Morgan when she lived in Charlottesville? Maybe she was a past victim and he waited for retaliation? Just kicking around different thoughts – that might be way off.

  46. Red Hill local says:

Not sure of the first name but he did have a relative that had a house fire last week. It started as a chimney fire. I work with some of the family.

    Yup. It’s him then.

My head is going to explode. For Real.

WT’s youtube video is horrendously disturbing, IMO.
A predator stalking, luring, trapping, chasing and capturing his prey.
At the 1:48 mark in this video there is a building/house in the upper right. Josh Stilson has the answer to the end credit location,
“FILMED ON LOCATION NEAR WAYNE’S HOUSE”
    http://www.youtube.com/user/TwiztedMethodz#p/f

Another “movie”, this one with Marvin B. and WT behind the camera talking/narrating.
    Also fimed “Near Wayne’s House”.
    http://www.youtube.com/user/TwiztedMethodz#p/u/0/W3rpDJNWRkw

It’s a very sad thing to see the Rescue Group that WT is with brought into this. He should be announcing his innocence out of respect for this organization. Instead, he allows suspicion to grow around him, and is actually contributing to it. Bob Townsend’s FB is down, perhaps as a result.

Another sad situation, the Steve Morris family of Ruckersville lost their home to a fire early yesterday morning.
