As sad an outcome as this may be for Christine’s family, it would be a blessing to be able to put this dear girl to rest. I’ve prayed especially hard lately for Lynn & family. Especially since Morgan was recovered. I would hate for that family to falsely think that God has forsaken them.

  2. Mom3.0 says:

I’ll be keeping Christine’s mom and family in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Do you think it could finally be her, Blink? Don’t know whether to hope for it to be so, or not. If not my prayers go out to the family of this person….

  3. fatcatlurker says:

Wow! I just read an article that says the remains were found buried. Blink I’m sure you have the inside scoop. I pray for Christine’s mom and Christine’s family that this is it. Finally, atlast they can rest with the knowledge of where. Than the other work can start w/lock up for someone(s).

  4. Word Girl says:

Thank you, dear Blink, for your steadfast love and pursuit of justice. You are a tree of life to us.

Blink — I just found this — Is there something with the body that makes people wonder if this is Christine? The clothes found or possibly jewelry?

  8. suz says:

Oh, wow! That would be wonderful (and yet heartbreaking) if that’s Christine. I know her loved ones could use the closure, and who knows? This might just lead to the killer or killers.

  9. suz says:

Looking at the google map, it looks like there’s a small patch of woods behind the P.O., and lake or something with a pier sticking out into it. Is that where these remains were found?

Snow Hill rings a bell as one of the VFDs that sometimes responded to the large fires on the farm.

  10. suz says:

    River, sorry, not lake.

A tip, eh? That is encouraging!

I’ll stop posting now. But I’m all excited!

  11. melissa says:

Please let this be her. Imagine Christine’s Mom finally bringing her baby home. I’ve become so attached to the beautiful people you’ve brought to us–they are our family now too. Praying and thinking good thoughts. Take care of yourself B. You’re working real hard and we don’t want anything to happen to you!

  12. MQ says:

Its not a tip it’s a fact…..it’s been broadcast on the local media with one of the stations speculating that it could be Ms Sheedy. No details have been given except that they are referring to the body as “Jane Doe”…implying it’s a female. Also, one local report that has been removed from the web stated some shoes and jeans were found with the body.

Her name is Sheddy. Not Sheedy. I am in touch with folks onscene and have been for 2 days, I am aware.

That PO location is just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Worcester County Fire Marshall’s office.

You have to cross the river to get to the Snow Hill Fire Dept (it’s a bit farther away).

I may have an update on the exact location in a moment, waiting for the green light.

  15. cece says:

My prayers go out to Christine’s family and I hope they have finally found her. We haven’t forgotten you or given up on you, Christine.

And thank you, Blink, for the update.

  16. Shelly says:

How close is this to where the farm house was that Christine was last at, Blink?

  17. mdg says:

This is great news, even though it’s so sad. I do hope that it will prove to be Christine, so that all the attendant questions can begin to be answered.

Blink, do you know is the remains are complete or if they include the skull or teeth that might assist in identification?

I’m excited to think that JR and that whole slimy crew will be finally brought to justice. My guess is they’ll turn on each other like rats in a trap. I can’t wait.

Unfortunately at the request of the Maryland State Police, I am refraining from comment.

I pray it’s not her, though I’m praying harder for closure for her family, wherever the path leads.

  19. sage101 says:

I read that they found jeans and shoes with the remains as well.

Would Christine’s mother, etc…be able to identify those if it true?

  20. Kleat says:

Blink, good for you to raise this old case as you did– could it have helped the awareness that resulted in a tip, who knows, but someone was thinking of Christine again.

There is one person responsible for bringing Christine’s case to the forefront.

Her Mother. The rest of us just took orders from her.

That is my only permitted comment at this point.

Everyone is anxiously awaiting official word from the coroner on teh identity. bit…

It looks like Christine has been found and now it’s time for her family to get some closure & justice.

Billy- I have been asked by the MSP and The Sheddy and Doddenhoff families not to comment at the moment.

I think it is ok to say that your and Steph’s support of Lynn, and frankly, this site, in some instances, her family and Christine have kept our girl in stride.

    You are to be commended.

after reading back after being absent I’m caught up. And it’s killing me wondering just who in the world knew where this body was. Who talked or was this information in Christine’s file all along. God help us all if it was. If you google the post office you will see a pic, looks relatively new, what was there before?

  23. Ragdoll says:

    Oh dear Blink!!!!!!

I don’t know what to feel. I can only imagine what’s going through your mind.

I will continue praying for Christine and her family. I thought this kind of news would make me feel ‘relieved’ for Christine.

    God rest Christine’s soul. ~L<3ve~

  24. lovinlife says:

I hope and pray that Lynn and the kids can finally put their precious daughter/mother to rest properly and the investigation into Christine’s disappearance will continue until justice is finally served.

Whoever’s remains these are, they are in my thoughts and prayers.

If Christine is no longer alive, and these remains are her’s, I join in the sad celebration of her being found, and hope that the process of bringing those responsible to justice is swift. Either way, my thoughts and prayers are with her Family.

It was through Blink’s work with the Morgan Harrington case that introduced me to Christine’s. Thanks to Blink and her team for continuing their important contributions on behalf of Christine Sheddy and ALL of the missing.

Blink, I’ve had no screen for 3 days — I pray this is Christine! Her babies need to have their mommy — her parents and friends need to have their baby and friend.
Please dear Lord, let this be her — I am falling on my knees and crying holy!!

They were led to this spot because of a larger investigation?

BLINK???? Are there possibly more murders at the hands of these idiots that are suppose to protect and serve? Oh my this is soooo depressing

I also read the body was found with Jeans and shoes so this mother would know if that was her daughters body…. so sad but so much needing closure…. any new news yet?

“We did receive information that there were remains at a location in Snow Hill,” said Worcester County Deputy State’s Attorney Mike Farlow.
The tip led the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation to the “River House Inn” Bed and Breakfast on East Market Street. “The owners of the property were informed Friday morning that there was potential evidence on their property,” said Farlow.

Human skeletal remains were found in “River House’s” backyard. By Saturday morning, the dirt was back in place and detectives were leaving the scene. The State’s Attorney’s office said based on clothing, they do consider the body a female.

Todd says the remains were found near the municipal parking lot, behind the Snow Hill post office Friday.
The remains have been sent to the Medical Examiner’s office for a positive identification.
There is no word on why police searched this site,

but the remains were found buried somewhere between the parking lot and the river’s edge.

Update: Remains Found – Latest News
    by – Katherine Amenta

SNOW HILL, Md. – A tiny bed and breakfast in Snow Hill could very well be a crime scene tonight. Human remains were found buried in the backyard this weekend. So, could it be a break in the Christine Sheddy case? Investigators said it is too soon to tell.

“It’s a shock, because Snow Hill is a very quiet town,” said Snow Hill resident Jim Adcock. But, that quiet was broken on Thursday.

But, they won’t speculate on whether or not this could be the body of missing Pocomoke woman, 26 year old Christine Sheddy. Sheddy was last seen November 13, 2007 in Pocomoke City.

We spoke with Christine’s mother when Christine was first reported missing; “It’s been over a month now and still no Christine,” Lynn Dodenhoff said in 2007. “If anyone can help us find her, one way or another, we just need to bring her home.”

It is still unclear how long the remains were buried. The State’s Attorney’s office said after all the recent snow, it is difficult to know what kind of condition the grass was in. There was no answer at the property when we knocked.

The State’s Attorney’s office said a positive identification on the remains could come by the end of next week.

  35. PookyBear says:

Blink: I am confused. If you can clear this up, great! If not, I understand. The articles listed in items 28 and 29 reference 2 separate sites — one behind the post office and the other by the bed and breakfast. When I use google maps, they appear to be 2 tenths of a mile apart. Are there 2 sites and/or 2 bodies or am I misunderstanding?

  36. Clarity says:

Steadfast prayers for Christine’s mom, dad, step-dad, sis, kids and all of the extended family and of course, Q.

Please God, let Christine and this family have some peace.

  37. Sister says:

PookyBear, they are not that far apart.
The Post Office faces Washington Street, and the B&B faces Market Street (or vice versa, can’t remember the street names at the moment). There is now a public parking lot between the back of the post office (the back would be to the east) and the property of the B*B which faces south, but most of the property lies in the back, thus going north and spreads more to the left, if you are facing the B*B, which would be to the west. The B*B property northerly line is the banks of the Pocomoke River. Along the banks of the Pocomoke River to the west is the canoe business.

  38. chitown lady says:

I pray for the family. No matter how this really comes out….someones’ family member was buried there. If this soul is Christine, at least her family can find some peace with that. She can finally be put to rest……

  40. BillyBurke says:

It now appears that Christine’s remains were found on the property of the River House, a very nice B & B in Snow Hill, MD.

The location is directly behind the US Post office and municipal parking lot used by a number of downtown businesses.

The local newspaper has a video posted on this link:

    http://www.delmarvanow.com/article/20100220/NEWS01/100220001

We are all still awaiting “official word” on the identification of the female body and the arrests to be announced.

I would like to go on the record that I/We do not believe there is any conspiracy with any Volunteer Fire Departments nor a coverup by the fire Marshall’s office.

Then again the last place anyone involved expected to find the body would be in the backyard of a very nice, upscale B & B in sleepy Snow Hill, MD…

Congratulations & condolences go out to every member of Christine’s family.

Any way anyone cares to dissect this case, it is pure evil.

    Christine now deserves some justice!

    Billy-

I am not suggesting a cover up, I am suggesting there is no “cause” listed or investigative notes on several fires on the Byrd Property that preceded Christine’s disappearance and murder. This aspect is part of the ongoing investigation.

    Blink,
I just finished listening to The SMShow. Great job. I can not believe some witness’ weren’t even interviewed until 2009. I am glad Christine’s Mom never gave up and that Christine’s story found new life because of you and BOC. My prayers go out to Christine’s family.

Ty friend. Christine’s family went through hell they should not have. They never gave up.

There are probably thousands of people missing a loved one that need to be reminded of that, and I am so proud of Lynn and her family to deliver that message amidst their grief.

  43. Sister says:

Thank you for that blessing, kind friend.

  44. MQ says:

The body was not found between the parking lot and the
pocomoke river, it was found on the property of the bed and breakfast near one of the two story buildings on the property. It is also on the opposite side of a fence from the parking lot. The parkling lot ajoins the postal office on the other side. This is a small area we are talking about along the pocomoke river. This does not look like the place one would dump a body. It is a fenced in area in town next to a lighted municipal parking lot. I wondered if the body could have washed up from the river during some flooding we’ve had this winter but the water didn’t rise that high and wouldn’t explain the body being buried. The towns of Pocomoke (where Ms Sheddy lived) and Snow Hill are connected by this river. There are thousands of acres of woodlands in this county so it seems more likely that a body would be dumped at a more remote location. That being said, a body has been found, of a woman with jeans and shoes. My gut feeling is that it is Ms Sheddy, the local media has definately suggested it is a possibity. I just can’t understand why they would have taken her there. It sounds to me like someone is in trouble with the law and wants to save their own skin by giving up their knowledge of a crime. If she is no longer alive I hope it is her so the family can have some closure.

    MQ-

I have covered this case extensively, if you search this site you will see that I have visited what I believe to be the primary crime scene. Christine lived in Delaware, not Pocomoke City. We believe it is Christine.

I believe why she was buried there will become pivotal to this case, and released when appropriate.
    B

  45. MQ says:

Thanks B. I was under the impression she had moved to
pocomoke prior to her disappearence and that was the last place she was seen?

  46. MQ says:

B- Do you have a theory as to why she would be buried there?

    Yes.
Unfortunately, I am unable to convey it upon request.
