“Macaluso has entered an alternative-discipline program after being accused of ‘moral turpitude, dishonesty or corruption’ in handling several trust accounts. The State Bar alleged that he misappropriated about $145,000 and misused nearly $61,000 in client money. Macaluso denied any willful violation, blaming his staff and saying he was distracted and traumatized at the time by his brother’s death.”
After seeing the video, this is news? Maybe he shouldn’t have prevailed against ephedrine? The dude gives moral turpitude a bad name.
As for his Assets, he should sell that Breitling, his aerobatic fighter jet, his helicopter, and his Pilatus passenger/cargo plane. Should net enough to pay his bills, ya think?

While advocate for victims, was baring his soles and more and washing away problems with a cooler of beer in front of a video camera, John Walsh has made his own video to air this weekend. I hope Walsh includes NOTHING about the case of Caylee as she is no longer missing and this would only serve to put Casey Anthony even higher on her own little pedestal of fame by more media attention– and put her in the league in her own little mind, with the President of the USA.
But, of course, the TVGuy can’t help but intro John Walsh with the lead in about Ms. Casey:
He has strong views about Casey Anthony, who is charged with the first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee by getting Walsh’s comments in, front and center.
“It’s an awful, awful case,” Walsh said. “I do believe she killed her daughter and will pay for it.”
And, the newest evidence will be released next Wednesday morning.

If 10 discs worth of DNA charts, will this be the crime scene forensics and/or related testing to exclude lab technicians, knowns, etc, or will it be some other aspect of the investigation? (no chance it would include comparisons for paternity testing, would it?)

Is the ‘hook’ that LP talks about as Nikki from 20/20, Nikki Battiste, Editorial Producer, ABC News, 20/20 from January 2007 to Present (3 yrs+), Greater NYC Area, past work with Production at NBC (2002-2005).
I’m hoping that Leonard’s self-proclaimed ‘dirty mind’ about Nikki being in the presence of Baez, is just talk, otherwise, Nikki could be putting a new twist to ‘producing’.
If LP had the name right, is it strange that Nikki (if Nikki Battiste) so often seen with Baez early on in the Anthony case, has not got a single 20/20 Credit for an Anthony related story?
Credits include three stories in 2009, but NOTHING with the Anthony name attached. Strange, if this is the producer of 20/20 who was right at the front line with Baez.

“Casey Anthony’s defense team wants the state to pay costs associated with her upcoming death-penalty case, saying it’s the only way to ensure they’ll have the resources to fight to save the young mother’s life.
In a statement released this evening, Anthony spokeswoman Liz Brown said the defense team has incurred “extensive costs” defending the 23-year-old mother in the first-degree murder case. She would not specify a dollar figure.
Anthony is charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. The child’s remains were found in 2008 in woods near the east Orange County home that Anthony and Caylee shared with Anthony’s parents.
The statement says initial cost estimates to defend Anthony have skyrocketed since the state decided to seek the death penalty. If Anthony is to receive a fair trial, the government needs to pay the cost of travel, serving subpoenas, hiring experts, deposing witnesses and investigating “all aspects of the case,” her team contends.
“This assistance is critical to enabling the defense to interview the 100+ individuals on the State’s witness list, investigate thousands of tips, and analyze complex forensic evidence,” the statement reads.
The statement says Anthony’s attorneys were filing a motion for the financial assistance Friday. It was not in the court file when the Orlando Sentinel inspected it shortly before 5 p.m…”

Sounds like the defense has given Tony Pipitone the scoop on this story ‘only reporter to obtain these details’. Pipitone suggests that Casey earned the money from things maybe that have nothing to do with the case and maybe even before she was charged. Right– what value would Caylee’s photos have in the media market if she had not gone missing and never reported by her mother at all until someone else called 911.
$111,954 paid to Andrea Lyon and Jose Baez ‘from Casey Anthony herself’.
$22,500 to Lyon for costs (she’s working pro bono)
$89,454 to Baez (appears to be both costs and fees)
Fruits of the crime paid for Lyon and Baez– photos of the ‘victim’ are what were sold, not just the photos of the child of Casey Anthony. Had the child not been the victim, the photos would have little market value.
What happened to the remaining 140 grand? (wasn’t it about 250 grand earned from photos?)
What is the strategy of making the announcement late Friday night after courts close and media can’t get a copy– well, except for Tony Pipitone who has the exclusive, docs in hand.
Blink, with the screeching halt, could Baez have socked away or pre-paid the remaining 140 grand to the experts flown in so far? We know Dr. Lee has come in and done some work, the other forensic specialist so often on NG was retained too, Kobey. Then there was Dr. Kathy from Montreal called in the day the body was found, and there was another Canadian consulted from Ontario.
Who paid the middle men or as LP called them, ‘Hustlers’? Would their 15-20% have come off the top of that 250,000, people like Garrison and Black/Cill Gabot.
And what is the strategy of the foreclosure now? The timing is no coincidence– how does that work, isn’t it better to get whatever you have in the home, ‘out’ of the home to help your daughter? Guess not– how are they working to protect their investment? Maybe Brad can work something out ‘after’ the court declares Casey indigent for costs.
What would Lyon’s fees as DP lawyer be for a case like this, should it go on for years? It may be another two years, will Lyon just go into a holding pattern once the defense has it’s position set?

Marti Mackenzie, a well-known public relations executive, offered no explanation for why she was leaving the case. But high-profile Orlando attorney Mark Nejame says it does make him wonder.
Her death penalty-qualified attorney, Andrea Lyon, a Depaul University law professor, was expected to employ students to help in the grunt work on the case. And the new media contact for the team is Liz Brown, identified as being part of Depaul’s legal clinic.
Anthony’s family was already in serious debt when the case began, and she had no obvious means of supporting herself. Nejame says he believes Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, could have asked a judge to declare her indigent.
“They can always seek to have somebody declared indigent for cost purposes, and then have the county pick up the tab,” Nejame said.
Nejame also pointed out that defense attorneys have been slow to carry out depositions.

OMG on the McIntyre… sheesh…
How is it that the MSM local Orlando stations failed to get copies of the filing before courts closed Friday, the press statement by the official PR person, came out ‘after hours’, Tony Pipitone had copies to get the scoop, and this guy McIntyre gets to the court in time to get something?
Sounds like a connection between defense contacts and this capital letter loving media person. Anyone seen this person ‘in person’? Could he be related to Mr. Black Todd or aliases? I suspect he or she is connected with the hustlers surrounding this case waiting for crumbs.
There was only a single ‘media’ entry on transactions on Friday.
