Morgan Harrington Murder: Picture of Morgans Boot Released

Posted by BOC Staff | Alex Harrington,Anchorage Farm,Dan Harrington,Gil Harrington,Morgan Harrington | Thursday 1 April 2010 1:01 pm

Charlottesville, VA– Morgan Harringtons killers have not been apprehended.

Morgan was brutally slain, presumably, the evening of October 17th, 2009 after she went missing from the John Paul Jones Arena, located on the grounds of The University of Virginia. Her remains were recovered on January 26th, 2010 on the grounds of Anchorage Farm in Charlottesville, VA.

There have been countless witness accounts and reported sightings of Morgan since she vanished from JPJ, most of which, have been prefaced by stating “ or a person matching Morgan’s description”, so we are truly left to sift through what is accurate, and what is a well intentioned bystander.

One of the most conflicting item descriptions, is that of the boots she was wearing that fateful evening.

Below is a picture of the boot Morgan was wearing the evening of October 17, 2009, as confirmed by Morgan’s Mother Gil Harrington, to be “spot on”.

MorgBoot Boc

As you can see, it has no laces, and a cuff of approximately 3” that can be worn EITHER at the knee, or above, as reported by the witness who believes she saw Morgan walking away from JPJ with 4 men young men dressed in black, and again in the lot adjacent to Uhall.

Additionally confirmed to blinkoncrime.com, Morgan was wearing “footless” tights or leggings, which would require additional socks.

Morgan was known for the very distinctive socks she wore under these boots.

There is currently a $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for anyone responsible for the death of Morgan Harrington.

    Blink,

I saw on another site that they would prefer to get their information from a site that wasn’t a “for profit” site. I’m sorry…I must have missed something when I signed up. If you forward me an invoice for my membership dues and usage here I will make certain that I remit payment promptly. Please forgive me for the oversight. And keep doing what you do. God bless you.

Not Blink, but as I am the stand in, I had a laugh.

She is a real person, even I cant seem to piss her off. Then some anonymous dope says that-
Let me guess, is that person a writer, or have a blog?

He will not see me stopping here,

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

Such a melancholy poem and I suspect the way you are feeling now.

We are all waiting to hear some news, but I can’t imagine what you must be feeling.
Thank you for all you do for victims everywhere, I say a thankful prayer for you.

    Frank Speaker;
I couldn’t help but comment on your statement, “The real ones were the Ferrari ones”, directly followed by, “I am not making value judgements…” :) All kidding aside though, you made extremely valid points in your comment that I, for one, hadn’t thought of. The boots and the grossly inaccurate description of them that was provided to searchers and was used in mockups, etc will no doubt, and most unfortunately, play an extremely important role in the trial when and if this case goes to trial.

    TeeDee;
re; your comment, “hh = fishing expedition. see what bites. once you have them on the line you can play them until they are in the net. feed a liar a lie and watch them take the bait…” Again, perhaps inaccurate information was intentionally released but, as you outlined, for very good reason. Blink had hinted someone may have taken that bait and, if this was the case, it appears the fishing expedition was successful.

  6. Teri says:

I guess you’ve decided against releasing something today.

I dunno…call me crazy – but since you have a great many people waiting for what you said was coming – don’t you think it would be nice to let us know if you changed your mind?

I’m sure you have good reasons for your delay – but it would only take 30 seconds to let everyone know that your new article is delayed.

There are a great many people who are emotionally invested in this case, and are waiting for any kind of news – at all. It would have been nice to know it was going to be delayed.

    This is Red-

Nobody yells at me, but her once in a while. I dont know who you are, and if she gets on here and erases it I will not apologize. But your calling Blink out because your emotionally invested and people are yanking this girls laptop? This is why I do politics.

I’ve only seen the “Ferrari” description of the boots, provided to Blink by Gil Harrington, on the BOC site so Blink’s role in this case will no doubt be even more important than any of us could have imagined. If there is a trial, I would expect Blink will be called as a very important witness.

I’m glad that the Parkway assailant is in custody; I hope that this leads to breaks in other investigations, including the Childs/ Metzler case although since it seems like a similar MO- very deliberate and by surprise. With that being the case, I don’t see similarities between this case and what I’ve read about the 29 stalker cases. That guy seemed to like to engage his victims to show how clever he was, I guess. I had made a previous post citing an article (maybe from the Hook or a Fredericksburg based periodical, don’t remember) that made a strong case tying Richard Marc Evnonitz to those killings given his thirst for the psychological aspects wanting to one-up his victims with his “charm”.
Also, the three indictments that were announced the other day seemed significant given the surname of one of the charged. I also couldn’t help but notice that Hernandez has a striking resemblance (at least in his mug) to Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett. Is that his schtick or just a coincidence (sounds like a game I know from somewhere, hmmm)?
Hopefully, some of the developments that B alluded to will help shed some light on what is becoming very frustrating for all seeking justice in this case.
I think all positive contributors and the BOC team should pat themselves on the back for keeping ideas flowing and everyone on their toes- what a resilient lot you are! God speed to all.

Please not another word about Morgan’s clothing. She was dressed appropriately for a rock concert and even if she was naked (which of course she wasn’t) there is no way anyone can comment that her attire created attention that caused her death. Sadly, in our culture, pretty girls attract attention regardless of their attire but if it is in anyway more flattering to their appearance, it’s cause for speculation. If Morgan had been 350 lbs and dressed exactly as she was dressed, the speculation about her attire and intention would be totally different.

Let’s support Dr. Harrington tonight at “Take back the Night” and in Roanoke when the “freaks” arrive. Don’t they have anything in their own state they can protest?

Doesn’t work that way. Blink is not a fact witness unless the perp communicates with her and she would not be used as an expert witness here either.

  13. crimewriter says:

If real estate isn’t your thing, this is only going to be boring information for you all to read…
The last deed recorded in Albemarle for 2009 is a tough one to research. So MANY players involved. Winners and losers. All those uncollected would-be-future property tax revenues, no more. -A hell of a large family too. Who will receive money to squander, and who won’t? I wonder how much is still in probate. Money is the root of all evil and it sure isn’t buying happiness? Maybe, maybe, temporary freedom.
“When you buy in the upper echelons of the market, the estate will have a name. It’ll have a sign out front identifying it as Anchorage Farms or Biscuit Run. It will have a gate and a long driveway, buttressing it from the public thoroughfare. Privacy, views and “location” are standard. Estates don’t flaunt for-sale signs. Privacy is a concern not only for movie or rock stars, and LLCs– limited liability corporations– frequently help conceal ownership. While normal folks may have to wait for a current home to sell or to get mortgage approval, the super-rich don’t have such concerns.
A lot of times, it’s cash with no worry about contingencies.
And sellers can afford to wait, sometimes several years, without dropping the price. There are plenty of multi-million properties out there, beckoning to be called home– even if it’s the second or third one”

You MUST put up your personal shield of protection around you and your co-workers and your family every day — I know some people will read that and think I’m nutz — and that’s okay — doesn’t chnage the truth of the statement

I lift you up i prayer every single day, as well — not just for Morgan, but fo all you do — you are a remarkable woman — and the thing that gets me every single time — you are attacked on other sites — and never once do you get on a bend about that — you simply point out you work for Morgan, and you will continue to do so —

Be well — we’ll get your info when you’re able to put it out there —

and in the meantime, Red,use bold : ) and thanks for taking the reins for awhile.

~~Friends, You know that I’m not a shouter, but I want to echo this plea. Let’s join together–even the old farts who are out of touch with young people–and TAKE BACK THE NIGHT, THE DAY, THE LIFE of the vulnerable and murdered. STAND UP. SPEAK TO ALL who will listen.

Tonight I has shocking conversation at the mall with a 22yo art student who walks home alone in the very late evening hours. Her father, out-of-state, is so concerned. She says she had a pocket knife from her dad, but lost it; “mace is enough, right?” I told her about Morgan. I told her I am going to buy her the Gift of Fear. I showed her my weapons and how to hold the cannister of mace with your thumb, not forefinger, on the trigger. I told her of recent self-defense training. She sobered, but it is not enough.

Thanks for listening to a Word Girl rant.~

I’m really intrigued by what crimewriter has written, at least while I read between the lines, that a break in price will favor someone who covets that property and that an imminent drop in value may force a sale- was that a motive for the placement of Morgan’s body, although it seems pretty logical that “she ended up there” (Blink)? I don’t think that the placement was carried out to exploit, but more so because she would never be detected. However, I don’t think it was done by an outsider who randomly placed her there; this person has to have, dare I say, innate knowledge of that tract, specifically that remote area of the parcel.

I am curious to know from what this excerpt is quoted (apologies in advance if it is part of the thread)? Very provocative post and not boring at all. Thanks.

  20. justiceformorgan says:

    Sorry Redly, I respectfully disagree.

  21. justiceformorgan says:

I don’t like this fact any more than any other person wanting to see justice for Morgan however…

I agree with Frank Speaker in his analysis of the role and importance the description of the boots will have at trial.

The conflicting descriptions will also be used at trial given the conflicting witness descriptions of the boots in addition to the fact the first description (low chunky heel, lace-up, etc) was provided to searchers and used in mockups while searching for Morgan and couldn’t be more different than the description provided by Blink as per the photo’s she showed to Gil and the photo on BOC that Blink was told was “spot on”.

The boots and the conflicting descriptions of the boots will without a doubt be very important factors at trial and will be examined extremely closely and ad nauseam.

    From Frank Speaker’s post;

…”They were focal to her last time on earth and will be focal to any trial . There will be blow ups of them and they will be trotted out by defense routinly on the drop of a hat . They may have a very direct bearing on many things .Her falling, wobbly mode, kicking, who she attracted ,how they treated her,how she reacted to them ,did she use them for a defense, was she attacked with one,did they cause her to get bogged down in grassy lawn, where are they etc.etc.etc. ????? The whole story could be written if one could actually put their minds by some method in those boots . The description let out awhile ago describes them perfectly but there was a disconnect with the previous picture . The previous picture was of a lace up version of a leather gumboot style with lumberjack heel ,very conservative and practical. The real ones were the Ferrari ones .”

How long does it take to construct a state park? Look no further than Middle Peninsula State Park in Gloucester County. The 438-acre parkland was purchased in 2005 by the Commonwealth of Virginia, with money from a $119 million bond created in 2002 for land conservation and parkland acquisition. Nearly five years later, and the master planning process for Middle Peninsula is just getting underway.
At present, seeing a park in Biscuit Run feels like looking for a sculpture in a piece of stone. The Department of Conservation and Recreation says it may be years before a master plan is completed.

In the past months, the Breedens have put their thousand acres up for sale. The bidding process is over, but negotiations are still in the works, so Elizabeth Breeden declines to disclose the selling price (who can doubt that it has many zeroes at the end?). Regardless, the sale will likely pass the property into the hands of developers who will in turn change Southern Albemarle as we know it.”

I never post because I am not smart like you people , . I dont know how you all find all the stuff you find and I really get lost when people use secret code . I read all the time and try to find stuff but I just depend on reading all the article and pictures you guys find . I think I posted here once and looked stupid

I think blink is waiting on something to come out also so she can talk about it . I seen this post at nbc29news.com so I decided to watch the
police update by lt.rader and the update by our local sherrif . I think the person that wrote the post and also made this statement the same day as blink mentioned something big was coming out . lt rader has that deer in headlight look and dodges almost every question when he talked when morgan was found . Our sheriff looked straight at the camera looked very confident and answered more questions than I thought he should have .

there seems to be so many police officers being fired and sued or killing themselves and coverups and all kinds of stuff in the Charlottesville area . Blink I know you work for Morgan only and I am glad , if you thought the reason the police have made this so secretive on the public because they were protecting themselves would you tell us ? The reason I ask is I am glad you have been quiet the last couple days because I think it’s because you cannot jeopardize morgan at any cost and your stuck wanting to not say anything to protect morgan but let us readers know things are happening .

I think something is wrong and the police are letting us know everything is ok and thats not right .

I also think all the people keep asking blink to say some is not right either because if she has to protect morgan then she has to because it could cause the man to keep on not being found and we dont want that or we will never be able to do anything without being scared .

I cant figure out to get those blue links here so I copied and pasted from 29 news

Big difference between Sherriff Fishers statements to the public compared to Lt. Rader when he addresses the public over Morgan Harrington,. I guess that’s why Morgan Harrington’s Killer is still loose to grab another girl off the street . Augusta county shows up for a press conference with a perp and pending capitol murder charges . Lt Rader is too busy hiding the truth from the public because the truth will reveal the police corruption. Sherriff Fisher engaged the public immediately ! Called in the forces and went to work .

Follow the police corruption in Charlottesville and surrounding counties and you will quickly find out what Lt Rader is desperately trying to hide .

15 min after the 911 call for the shooting on Afton a police helicopter was rolling along Afton mountain,When Morgan disappeared the police were to busy telling a frightened Mother and Father theirr daughter was dressed provocative rather than looking for Morgan . There was no “we got this ” so we can cover up the typical basterdization of the justice system as we have found in Morgan’s case along with the 100+ bullets fired into a young man and police car whom never exited the vehicle ( hence why they will not release the dash cams ).. Funny how police video always disappears unless it HELPS the police make a person look bad . If it shows wrongdoing on LE part it WILL disappear.

oh well , just wait for the info that comes out on Morgan’s case tomorrow .But the real show will be when Morgans Mother returns from Africa . Dr. Harrington will take a bit to get on board but he knows he will not hold Gil back when the time comes . Gil Harrington WILL go after JPJA ,UVA police , VSP and anyone else who wants to get in the way, the Harringtons will educate the public . Gil is the woman for the JOB . Dr Harrington will honor his daughter and will hold no allegiance to UVA or anyone else but his family and slain daughter . Gil will be the leader and he will get on board fast . The Harrington’s are two of the strongest parent I have ever seen , They will see to it that good comes out of the sadistic brutal murder of Morgan .The Harringtons will bring change to how we protect our children and families .

Thank you Sherriff Fisher . You run a great dept and if Morgan had disappeared in Augusta county both her and her family would have had some hope .

    Couple of quick things….

    1) The way Morgan was dressed, what she was wearing, etc should not be judged and is not to blame for her fate. The only thing and person responsible is the person(s) who killed her. Period….

    2) Anxiously awaiting Blinks news on Monday, which she indicated would bring us closer to the killer.

    3) Also interested in Blink being in a cranky mood and also stating UVA PD need training. Are these two related??? I sincerely hope that we are not about to find out that UVA PD’s bobbling of the case in the first few days could have cost Morgan her life, if she was alive for a few days first, and they could have found her and didn’t. Oh, boy…..

    4) BLINK – TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND GET BETTER!!!

Wow sunfish, look at what came out of you after holding quiet! I too get lost in what folks are saying while trying to be disrete. I hope you are incorrect Sunfish. While I agree there appears to be some screwups until they found Morgan, I can’t tell what is lack of credible info from rumor half the time.
I agree Gil will not hold back on justice for Morgan. I am sure that LE is not to sad she is currently overseas at this time.
Crimewriter, thanks for your post & links!

    Hi guys –

The good deed I did in Morgan’s name was that I helped the receptionist today unload the new shredder and set it up and then I took out the mail with her. She was greatful for the extra pair of hands.

Even the little bits of light will have the Harringtons and Morgans name on them!

    xx

April 9, 2010 at 1:18 am – your post “Tonight I has shocking conversation at the mall with a 22yo art student who walks home alone in the very late evening hours. She sobered, but it is not enough.”

That is wonderful that you talked with her. I’ve never seen her and don’t know her, but now I am worried about her. I am wondering why you said to spray the mace with your thumb? I don’t have any, but would like to learn some self defense training and be able to protect myself. I was wondering about holding the mace since I’m sure I would do it the wrong way. Also, how did you learn self-defense?
Thank you, I thought it okay to ask since we are waiting on word from Blink, it might not be a bad time to discuss something off-topic.

OT post and sorry but just wanted to clear something up. I checked out the Find Morgan site for the first time last night and noticed there is a poster there named “HokieHigh”. This is a different poster. I don’t add too often but when I do, it’s only here. Just didn’t want anyone to think I was talking out of both sides of mouth and saying one thing at BOC and something different there. Thanks guys.

I had no confusion about that, but thanks friend.

All- thanks for the kind words, I am hoping to be feeling better soon.

My prayers goes out to Mr. Davis and his family. God Bless.
    B

Sorry you are not feeling well Blink- I think I caught it from you and How many times I hit the refresh button last night, but I am sick too- LOL My children just went back to school and brought back a yucky head cold with them- Drink lots of fluids Get Well Soon Blink-

Eloise- Hi. I forgot to mention you last night in my post- Sorry, I try to include everyone- I wasn’t trying to be funny- but I am glad that you got a laugh from my “twinkling” with Mr. Frank Speaker.

Frank where are you? I know you have alot to say on a number of topics- Love to hear your point of view- really- As you can tell from others responses, your posts give us a great deal to think about- and your points were well taken- Or are you just out shoe shoppin? J/k Rejoin the conversation Frankie- I promise we only joke with those we love-

Saramom- Hi, thank you for your kind words- I think you are a valued contributor with a big heart too. Thank Mr S for me also- I hope my teasing of Frank didn’t change your view of me… Yes to the friends- it is so hard to forgive and forget isn’t it?

Cadillac- hi thanks for that uplifting story-

Crimewriter- thanks for all the research on Biscuit Run much appreciated- very interesting-still- as J2K would say “The More You Know”

sunfish, Hi glad you stepped out of lurking- I have to confess I don’t remember your first post- but judging from the latest, I doubt you said something stupid- You asked some very pertinent questions in my opinion- One can only wonder at this point- I hope there is no connection and LE is not covering up- I try to also give the police the benefit of the doubt- but have to agree that that shooting and lack of dashcams is very disheartening to say the least. Please continue to share your thoughts as I believe you have alot to share and we would all welcome your input-

Judi- the couple of quick thoughts you mentioned are rolling around in my head also. Thank you for bringing them to the forefront-

    josie:
I’m here, just contemplating. Someone gave me some incredible advice about sitting in silence and just listening. I hope that it is working.
I am trying so hard but as Blink said…”Not gonna give up ever, on this girl”. (b:paraphrased that)

blink: Sorry about the sinus pain. I suggest a z-pack and soon. Knock it down before it knocks you down. You’re kidda needed!

Dr. Harrington states: “There is none”. Concerning the videos of that night from JPJA. But I ask could there have been and something really defaulted the system? I guess my friend’s hairdresser was right when she told her that the JPJA survillance system was not operational that night. Go figure. What a cover F-up.

***Also, Blink should I break out the spanx and sit on the Copeley Road Bridge, so that people can stop the talkin’ about her dress. I can have a TV-3 camera guy with me, in a moment’s notice!

Also, to all: If it were up to the woman and her team, there would have been more information out here about Morgan and the horrible night that has caused such grief and tragedy. Blink has stated many times that she thought VSP should release more info. VSP choose not too! With that said, there comes a point in every murder case, that the general public gets frustrated and feels that the wheels are not moving fast enough and they go to bad places. Insulting places. Yes, many things could go differently but they are going the way they are guided to go. It is important that all of us, be supportive of each other here.
**Yes, agree to disagree but realize that we all want the same thing for Morgan and her family.

So, I BEG OF ALL OF YOU…
PLEASE DO NOT START TO EVER BLAME THE VICTIM!

It does not work and makes the family feel like shit every single day. Morgan’s choices that night were also guided by many different events, both big and small, friends, and herself. She did not set out to get herself in harm’s way. She did, however, set out to have a wonderful night with her friends. They failed in being hers. They were and still are worried about their reputations.

We do not need to make it about Morgan’s dress, her choices, her haircolor. There will be a defense attorney to do that.

We need to uplift and help her find her voice. We need to be the voice that was silenced. I cannot help but to think of Mrs. Harrington’s post about listening to Morgan’s voice on her answering machine. I also listen to voices on a machine. Sweet and NOT yet finished with life. All three to young to die. I feel for all the others that have perished at the hands of the ilk of society but see I can only try to make a change for Morgan and then hope that my concentration here, will make a difference in other places.
It is so very important that if we continue to participate that we listen and then be the voice for Morgan.

    Talk about someone needing you!

As I have a deep faith, I choose to believe Morgan was not alone that night, I do realize that, in actuality, she was. This is why it is so important for us to banter back and forth, respectfully. Which I never mind if someone disagrees with me. It gives Morgan her voice.

So please, if you all want to take it from someone who personally knows of the pain that the Harrington Family endures daily, then speak loud and proud for their girl, Morgan but don’t tear her down!

Just remember that BOC and team are here, more than any one of us. Blink wants more information out. She just needs to have time to put it all together. Things can turn on a dime in situations like this.

And FWIW,like julie, sky, localcgirl, redhill, I too, have driven that route to Anchorage Farms. One has to know where they are going in the dark. I don’t know what overtook me but I had to see it but as my husband about crapped his pants when I pulled off the exit in the dark from Cville airport. It is frightening and I had no clue what I was doing. He made me turn around. It is totally different in the dark. I can only imagine when it is raining and you have someone in your car that shouldn’t be there.

**So Lt. Rader, what does location, location, location MEAN TO YOU?
I am trying and cannot for the life of me figure it out and unless you are willing to sit in an unmarked squad car, from UHall lot and watch me as I march back and forth on Copeley Bridge, dressed as Morgan Dana Harrington, then please give us, the public, who is worried and scared…something to go on!!!

I have two kids and if you count the rest of BOC children…there are hundreds. I have already cancelled her summer camp at UVA, whatelse can I do? What else can WE do?? Is this creature biding his time?? What do you think??

Blink: BTW. Check’s is in the mail. I didn’t release that you were takin’ payment. How about a monthly payment plan option, as I’m not leaving Morgan!!!
