Morgan Harrington Murder: Picture of Morgans Boot Released

Posted by BOC Staff | Alex Harrington,Anchorage Farm,Dan Harrington,Gil Harrington,Morgan Harrington | Thursday 1 April 2010 1:01 pm

Charlottesville, VA– Morgan Harringtons killers have not been apprehended.

Morgan was brutally slain, presumably, the evening of October 17th, 2009 after she went missing from the John Paul Jones Arena, located on the grounds of The University of Virginia. Her remains were recovered on January 26th, 2010 on the grounds of Anchorage Farm in Charlottesville, VA.

There have been countless witness accounts and reported sightings of Morgan since she vanished from JPJ, most of which, have been prefaced by stating “ or a person matching Morgan’s description”, so we are truly left to sift through what is accurate, and what is a well intentioned bystander.

One of the most conflicting item descriptions, is that of the boots she was wearing that fateful evening.

Below is a picture of the boot Morgan was wearing the evening of October 17, 2009, as confirmed by Morgan’s Mother Gil Harrington, to be “spot on”.

MorgBoot Boc

As you can see, it has no laces, and a cuff of approximately 3” that can be worn EITHER at the knee, or above, as reported by the witness who believes she saw Morgan walking away from JPJ with 4 men young men dressed in black, and again in the lot adjacent to Uhall.

Additionally confirmed to blinkoncrime.com, Morgan was wearing “footless” tights or leggings, which would require additional socks.

Morgan was known for the very distinctive socks she wore under these boots.

There is currently a $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for anyone responsible for the death of Morgan Harrington.

RE: If you ever had to carry even a 125lb person in a fireman’s carry position for a short distance, you’d find it tough. Especially difficult to damn near impossible in an area with obstacles without some help, or a lot of time to stop and rest. (this coming from someone who is 6’0″, 205lbs, and runs up Stone Mountain in Georgia every other day for my cardio workout) If someone used a four-wheeler or even a horse as mentioned too, I’d expect they live very close by. It’s for the reason of where Morgan was found that I believe at least one other maybe even more are involved in at least the chosen concealment area of Anchorage Farms.

ZAMS- Thank you for your kind words-I appreciate your thoughts. I am so glad you posted -I was worried that you felt bad about asking a very pertinent question, and were not going to post again. I enjoyed reading your posts and the question you asked gave Dr. Harrington the chance to voice his concerns also. So thank you and glad to have you back. You are a valuable poster, so please don’t drop back off into lurkingdom.

MSL- glad to see you posting again, you are always the voice of reason here-

crimewriter- I so appreciate all your hard work- Hopefully something will lead to the aha moment and we will get our answer to LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION- if not it is interesting and I to will have a upper hand in SimsCity- LOL

Fish, If I haven’t said I am sorry about your family’s loss, I will now- Please accept my sympathy over the death of your Mom and father. I am so sorry for your pain- Thank you for bringing up that info about the BBP- I think I am with MSL and HokieHi- I think it is just a case of whats best for the team- but who knows?
As to the infamous picture- I am still at a loss as to who is who- your thought about him being OYE makes just as much sense as any other theory. Nice to know I am not the only one still sleuthing things from days gone by…

Kev- you are most welcome- Glad to have you back posting-it sounds as if you did a wonderful job of raising your children- just the right balance of fear-love- and independence- It still amazes me to know that no matter how old our children are we still worry about them and wonder did we teach them the right lessons? I love your New York City walk comment- So true. Reminds me of Ace Frehley’s song -Back in the New York Groove- Are you familiar with it?

Zeusrocks, Thank you for that post- quite eloquent- I was astonished to learn they boycotted Mr. Rogers-Thanks for including that link- I wish they would turn their efforts towards accomplishing something good. So sad that they believe Jesus would have wanted them to ostracize others.

Wordgirl, mosaic, messimamm, always nice to see you, love reading your posts

SadieBlue, Suz,Debbie, nice to see you guys

duannahincville, Your last comment has me scratching my head- I can only assume one of your comments is being held?

    Hi Blink,

I hope you’re starting to feel better. It’s miserable being sick.

Sometime when you have a doctor visit, maybe you could ask to please check your vitamin D blood level. The 25-hydroxycholecaliciferol blood level should be between 50-80 ng per ml, and if not, it is hard for your immune system to function and a person could have recurrent infections, and be prone to respiratory infections. If you get your vitamin D level up, you have more energy, feel more clear-headed, and also have fewer infections. Research indicates adults need 35 iu vitamin D3 per pound of body weight per day. This has helped my husband and I and our kids.

    Take care.

The children that OMNI cares for in Zambia, Africa, are the ones on the wrong side of this parallel poem. (241)

    A Prayer for the Children

    We pray for the children
    who sneak popsicles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.
    And we pray for those
who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
who can’t bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
    who never “counted potatoes”,
who are born in places where we wouldn’t be caught dead,
who never go to the circus,
who live in an X-rated world.
    We pray for the children
who bring us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money
    And we pray for those
    who never get dessert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can’t find bread to steal,
who don’t have rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren’t on anybody’s dresser,
    whose monsters are real.
    We Pray for the Children
who spend their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store and pick at their food,
    who like ghost stories,
who shove direct clothes under the bed,
who never rinse out the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don’t like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
who squirm in church and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at and
whose smiles can make us cry.
    And we pray for those
whose nightmares come in the daytime,
    who will eat anything,
who have never seen a dentist,
    who aren’t spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move, but have no being
    We pray for the children
who want to be carried and for those who must,
who we never give up on and for those who don’t get a second chance.
We pray for those we smother ….. and for those who will grab at the hand of anybody kind enough to offer it.

HokieHi, I know the UVa basketball team is unimportant in the grand scheme of things, other than whatever their interaction was with Morgan that night. I would like to add that one of the departures, Calvin Baker, was reported to be due to a serious illness in his family. I don’t believe he had any eligibility left to return next year. Again, not important, other than to these young men.

  14. Moonchime says:

Hello everyone. Blink, please get some much needed rest and take good care of you! Perhaps a nice hot bath will help you relax and feel a bit better. I remember once that you mentioned you were a “soaker.” I am as well.

To all of Morgan’s Warriors–Keep praying that Morgan’s killer/s will soon be arrested. We will not stop. We will keep Morgan’s story fresh until we see Justice for her.

I am nowhere near being artistic, but I am practicing. I must have painted 20 rocks so far. None are pretty enough to send to Morgan’s Memorial bridge. I did send one stone that had a cactus engraved into the stone. An odd twist is–we have lived in the desert for about 30 years now. For the first time ever–two days ago, one of our cacti began to bloom the most gorgeous flowers. When I take pics of them, the flowers look hot pink. In real life, they look purple. It makes me feel as if Morgan is acknowledging the rock I sent, and is giving us beautiful flowers in return. Rock on, Shiny Girl. Morgan’s Warriors will never give up!~Moonchime

    Mom 3.0

You are such a mother hen and angel. Your great compassion procedes you in every comment you post. You are ‘mom’ in so many ways dear heart.

I’ve chosen to lurk because I was told to become ‘unconfuzzled’ or leave (not on BOC but within a related group). Unfortunately, egos do get in the way of contributing. It can be so intimidating for some. I commented pretty much knowing it wouldn’t solve Morgan’s murder but maybe just one lonely thought could lead to something…..anything. What if I held back and it was something someone needed to hear??????? It’s not about me but about brain storming to kingdom come. I know where my heart stands but for some it’s not enough. There is a place for everyone and for some of us, it’s lurkdom. That being said, I don’t want to hold back anyone who feels the same. I say to those who have held back from commenting….GIVE ‘ER!!!!!! If not, please pray!!!! I believe prayer picks up where sleuthing leaves off. They blend harmoniously and I am a believer! That is how I choose to contribute to what seem like lost or hopeless causes. I read here everyday. Sometimes, I find myself on the verge of offering my thoughts, but I’ve come to recognize that’s not how I am being helpful. I know it may not be ingenious or gifted, but my prayers are my contributions. I pray for Morgan, her family and everyone involved in manifesting her justice. I am a believer. The fact that so many are overwhelmingly determined to find Morgan’s killers is encouraging. I just read about an unsolved murder of a 14 year old boy, Justin Horcutt. Another example of a crime that won’t be solved because people are afraid to come forward with what they know. Justin’s case is dead. So many others lay within the same fate as Justin’s and it’s not fair. Morgan has earth angels who will stop at nothing. Praise God for that!!!!!!

    Yay for you, DuannaH.
Absolutely, I am committed. With you. 100%.

If I may add to your words: if you are the girlfriend of someone who KNOWS or HELPED, or if you are a girlfriend who keeps DENYING to yourself that your boy KNOWS SOMETHING or HELPED that unstable cousin or friend, you have just as much reason to protect yourself and call in a tip, too. NOW.

Has it been a rollercoaster with your boyfriend lately? Have there been times he’s been unaccounted for or suddenly done something weird or out of character? SEARCH YOUR SOUL and make the call to the tip line. SAVE YOURSELF. Tomorrow is Sunday. Go gather the strength to do what you need to do.

I actually care about you girls. I see the cycle you are in. I wish I could show you the life that is out there for you, if you will just break out and reach for it.

Guys, I think revisiting past threads and info is very important, I think its the whole that equals the sum. Sorry, I have just had alot of coffee.

Fish/MOM/susanm; were you talking about the picture posted along with the thread from Dec 16th? The guy in the background? If so, I dont know who that is, but it looks like a garage or barn, with a band set to play. Looking at M, you see to our right, a guitar neck? Fish, I always thought Oye was female? LOL!

Suz, I think a way to look at what CW is saying is that that Morgan’s placement could have been done by one lone perp, but less likely. Would require a lot more work. Also, thinking of the witness statements of her being seen with BIB, she likely joined a small group. She may have only thought she knew one of them, but joined them all. Another thought I had, maybe she thought they were just taking a ride to 7-11 for some beers to help pass the time and then circle back to the parking area? I truly believe the debt card usage has a part to play, otherwise why would it come up at all?

I think this case is hard in that it isnt the ordinary grab rape murder dump scenereo. ( sorry M ) There was some deliberate after thought, and thats were the tricky part is. I do think now there is POI(s), and like CW said, trying to dot i’s and cross t’s.
And Ragdoll, I understand what you are saying, I dont have much to add that provides anything to anyone, just cheering on, and this gives me a way to talk to someone about Morgan.

    And lastly,

RE: This is just my opinion…The ones responsible certainly don’t want to get caught, but they do lack smarts and they think this whole thing will just go away if they keep their mouth’s shut. When Morgan was met with tragedy, it happened fast. Someone called somebody for help because they didn’t know what the best way would be to discard Morgan’s remains as to not get caught. I think our perp is going to be young and his help(ers) were older. Besides the location, I think there’s a good possibility that someone returned to “check” on her remains and probably had the intention to destroy what evidence there was, but Morgan haunted that area and their senses were overloaded with disgust as a result of what they did. I could be wrong…

Well, to be honest, I have.

And yes, I do, because as you know, if there is anything case proprietary/sensitive, it goes where it should before it is ever posted here. I have been asked not to post information once that happened in some cases, and I happily obliged.

Even the ones I don’t agree with, I value immensely. I often times do not have any thing constructive to add in the way of progressing Morgan’s case either. But just as Eloise said I feel better having a place to come and share my thoughts in the hopes that my theories and posts will help Morgan in some small way.

It broke my heart when Morgan’s dad wondered aloud if we were more interested in Morgan’s case when she was missing and not found murdered. I never knew how much he and the Harrington’s depend upon BOC and other sites to get them through. I never knew that our posts comforted him in any way. If only to reassure him that Morgan is not forgotten. So, please, know I value each poster here and elsewhere and so do The Harrington’s.

    about dreams…

i stumbled upon blinks site because i thought i might have witnessed some peeps acting weird the night morgan went missing; turns out what i saw/ heard likely had nothing to do with morgan…. and, i am prefacing my telling of my dream because it is probably more “implied” by what i have read here than actually something i would “see” in my dreams. it was weird when i read about zeus rocks dream, and hearing the vision by sky’s friend ( and, again, i read sky’s friends vision before i had my very own dream)

alright… here goes… and, i had this dream about three months ago, before morgan was found… i think i may have even posted something here about morgan’s boots —-
morgan is at a big party in the country? hanging out with lots of friends… they are dancing, nothing too much, just hanging out.,,
a group, but mainly one guy and lots of girls, invite morgan to come down a hill and party better ( or something), but just away from the crowd. morgan winds up down this hill (under a tarp/tent… it was green) with friends she trusted. .. they teased her and turned on her violently… so much they took her shoes/ boots and taunted her and beat her about her head with a pole… they also switched boots on her???? but, there were girl (s) and they kicked her again and again about her head..
    anyway, that’s it… but, i woke up crying…
i am almost 50 years old… three kids, two dogs, the requisite, yet awesome husband/ dad!!!!
never had anything in my life affect me this way… and, i just can’t help but believe that morgan lives on through all of us….
she is telling us how to help her…..

  32. suz says:

Thanks, Eloise and Crimewriter. But, CW—sounds like you’re assuming the perp either took her there when she was incapacitated (or dead), or that they went on foot (or horsie), or both. I still don’t see why the lone perp and Morgan can’t roll right thru the always-open front gate and up the front driveway of ol’ AF in a vehicle—especially if Bass ain’t home.

Just sayin’…no reason to rule that out yet, as far as I can tell.

I bet if you give me 125 lb of dead weight and let me at that farm, I could get the load there in short order(in the daytime, that is). Ok, well, start me off with a 50 lb bag of horse 10; I might be overreaching with the 125lb load, unless you can get my adrenaline going like I’d just brutally murdered someone.

Thank you for putting into words what so many of us agree with. I wish that there was someway that all of us could lend more support. Even if just for one day. I sit and am frustrated and even a bit frightened. Not for myself but for my children. Please do not stop! Maybe it will make someone, someday think for just a minute and then maybe they will call.

I always say that we need to give Morgan her voice and however we can do it then that is good by me!

See, once they go silent, people tend to forget and go back to assuming their lives.
“It’s a shame but at the end of the day, it really doesn’t affect me”.
Heard that many times. Blink is right when she tells crimewriter about not giving up. Neither are any of us. We are all here.

I always leave a light on!

Thank you so much Mom3.0, moxiemom and Josie-I appreciate what you said so much! I am so impressed with all the posts here on BOC, I respect all the thoughts put out there, and I have learned so much from all of you! Thank you to Blink and everyone!

From being bullied as a young child and living through that terror, I knew I had to learn to be stronger so that it would carry me as I got older. I stopped putting up with or hiding from bullies and learned to have some confidence and a damn nasty glare if I was crossed. In sixth grade a girl with cerebral palsy became my best friend (and still is 40 years later!) and she was bullied constantly simply because of her disability. Guess who got to turn the tables then? With a mean glare and veiled threats about my big, older siblings showing up to help, I managed to scare the bullies away from her. Do I consider that bullying in it’s own way? NO, because you can’t bully a bully-you simply have to put them in their place and then make sure they stay there (kind of similar to sending BG’s to jail)!

Who do I consider to be some of the biggest bullies out there? Westboro Baptist Church! Do I think we can vanquish them or others like them with silence or ignoring? No, they need to be put in their place by continued counter protests, constantly showing them how many people are against them, examining exactly how they get their income, and finding something illegal they do that will take them down!

They are so laughably pathetic, and so very, very dangerous. Because even though you seldom see other people standing with them at their picket sessions, they are there, in communities all over the country, hiding silently, but listening all the same. We don’t see those masses of people, but do not make the mistake of thinking they are not there! It’s been said that there are only about 70 members of this cult-so everyone gets the impression that they can’t do much harm-but I think there are many, many more who are quietly with them, and just as dangerous, if not more so because we can’t see them. And every time WBC puts on it’s hate face and goes to battle they are influencing more people who are weak minded and will agree with them. Bullies will join with other bullies, even if they don’t believe in exactly the same things. Bullies like to be seen doing their evil deeds or at least brag about them. They get off on the power. Just like rapists-it’s all about the power.

I feel like WBC is the last straw in Morgan’s case. Not that they were involved, but that it may be people very similar to them that killed her. It puts it all right in our faces! That mind frame of sick, twisted perversion that takes joy in hurting and terrorizing other living beings. People fueled by hate. WBC creates hate machines, they are the type who enjoy knowing about the evil they have created. They may have unknowingly created, through their propaganda, the very type of person who killed Morgan. WBC propagates hate crimes, they know it, we know it, let’s stop putting up with it.

I was so VERY angry when I heard they were using Morgan’s sweet name in their evil doings, but it also made me more determined to stay with this case to the end. They tried to hurt more people, like the Harrington’s, with this picketing, but I think they failed and just made everyone that much more determined! I feel like all of you, that I cannot rest until I know that justice is finally served on those who took Morgan from her family, her life, and her dreams.

I will not be the one to solve Morgan’s murder, but I can certainly stand side by side with Dan, Gil and Alex in whatever way I’m able, to help put an end to violence. We can all become involved by not accepting the terrorizing of another person, and by standing up for what is right and paying attention to what is going on around us-truly being open to all signals and senses!

Years ago, my husband teased me when I called the police to tell them our neighbors garage door was open. It was 3 am when I looked out the window (nightowl syndrome), she is a single woman, and she had never left it open before. I remember standing there, looking out my window and thinking…what if she just forgot to close it, what if she has company and left it open for them…what if…But then (GOF), what if someone has hurt her and she needs help? I called the police who checked and woke her up, she was fine, had just forgotten to close it (but was very happy that I reported it), as she has many things that could have been stolen in there. I felt great knowing she was okay-but what if she hadn’t been and I had ignored it and just gone back to bed?

What if someone saw something the night Morgan was killed and felt it wasn’t important enough to pay attention to at the time. They may be afraid to call it in now that so much time has passed. They may fear getting involved, or fear the killer will find out it was them who reported it. I just want to say to those people, you will truly never be able to live a normal life if you don’t tell what you saw-and yes, it may be just what the police need to catch who did this horrific crime. Do it, call in anything at all that seemed odd, it’s always the right thing to do. J4M

  42. I just watched some of the videos from #36 CVa Native 11:38pm … I noticed a GPS (navigation system) in one of the suvs. I know someone who uses these to map fishing areas on lakes for bass fishing. He also has one in his truck that has all kinds of directions on his tree farm in Mississippi! He can go all over that place to old r/r tracks – mail routes, etc.; old parts of the Natchez Trace. I suppose someone with interest in hunting … has been around vast acreages of land, and into 4/wheel drives … probably could have the latest and greatest of these GPS systems. He said if he was still hunting he would, especially for spot-lighting or trespassing! Could this be a thought?

I look forward to it then, but don’t overthink, and if you have concerns about how it might be interpreted I could always post it blindly if you prefer.

THAT, is exactly why the Westboro Baptist Cult has got to be stopped somehow! Doesn’t it make you wonder how they can do something so enormously hurtful and insanely mean to Gil, Dan and Alex when they have children themselves? It makes me wonder just what kind of treatment their own kids get.

If this is true, it’s time for the FBI to step in. It’s harrassment, plain and simple. To me, it’s a terrorist act. For one, the FBI should should pull every one of these scumbags in for questioning in the murder of Morgan Harrington. If anyone else did that, or said the things they’ve said, they would be a POI. Two, I would believe it could be a federal offense to use the mail for sending harrassing and cruel material. The Harringtons should immediately file a restraining order against them.

I read somewhere that there was a ruling stating that the crime of assault can be charged without physical violence- but for verbal and emotional abuse that leads to physical or emotional harm. This is an assault.

It’s time for the justice system to find a way to limit what these abominations to the human race can do. It’s time to draw the line. Law Enforcement: Find an angle.

I contacted an associate of mine in HSL when I heard about these yahoos. I got the impression if they color outside the lines….

If they actually did this, there could be a federal charge in there somewhere that could hold up in court. Once you put a stamp on something and mail it, it becomes a federal issue. I know they are mostly lawyers and should know the laws, but there’s got to be something illegal in that.

Yes, if it was sent to harass, or in some manner that is against the state or Federal statute, then the “wire” charge would stick as the vehicle. Personally, this people have received all the attention they are going to get from me. They are on enough Federal watch lists that if one of jay walks they will know about it.

I feel very sorry for the children to be taught to hate, that should be a crime in itself.

Mom, Fish, SusanM, Eloise- I have a * guess* regarding the guy in that pic. I’ll try to lead you to who he is without using his name/initials.

He plays bass and is a musician in 2 bands, one of them being Lazy Man Dub Band. If you look through their facebook pictures you can probably match him up to the Sugar Shack pic you’re referring to and follow his tags for more info. Look for a bearded guy with bushy eyebrows (not the lead singer). He also does sound work (wiring etc.). Let me know if you agree with me as I’ve tried to lead posters to his identity (my opinion) before, but have never gotten any feedback. I know that he has the potential to become as nagging as DW’s real last name or OYEs’ identity so I hope I’ve helped in some way. I don’t think he has anything to do w/Morgan’s disappearance or death. (my opinion)

Kev- I remember when you remarked about the grow lights in that picture. I’m sorry you felt like you were flamed for it. I was re-reading comments tonight and I don’t think anyone intended for you to feel that way. It looked to me like you posted an almost identical comment regarding grow lights after the conversation had died down a bit. Blink replied w/a smiley face and a comment about wondering where she had heard that b4. I think she was being playful. I can understand where you are coming from as trying to have a conversation via the Internet without facial and vocal cues is often a recipe for disaster. I hate to see people leave or sentence themselves to lurk when one of these misunderstandings happens. I hope you come back.

Yoshi- thanks for saying that to Kev, I certainly did not flame him, I thought it was possible, and regardless, I dont want anyone to feel that way undeservedly..

God bless Morgan and the Harringtons, Blink and family, BOC and y’all for keepin on for Morgan. God hears amen wherever we are.

I will say this….I believe unequivocally that the murderer/s that ripped out Morgan’s life will face 2 kinds of justice he/they never thought was possible….lady justice and the fist of God. They will be exposed, judged and thrown into the lion’s den. Torment will be their only friend.
