North Garden, VA– Morgan Harrington, the 20 year old fair-haired, radiant beauty, was brutally murdered after disappearing from the John Paul Jones arena the evening of October 17, 2009.

Morgan Bridge

Morgans remains were recovered the morning of January 26, 2010 in a hayfield on Anchorage Farm, owned by David and Nancy Bass.

Since Morgan was found by Mr. Bass that blackest of days in January, there has been rampant speculation about her last hours and how she ended up in the creek bed of total strangers.

A sequence of events and incidents in the days and hours preceding and following the January 26, 2010, discovery of Morgan Harrington’s skeletal remains on Anchorage Farm continues to attract attention from pundits and volunteers dedicated to Morgan’s cause.

Although naysayers point to a lack of a viable connection, and police have disavowed a link, others say emergency services runs to a nearby fire and also other responses which are  not supported by publicly available documentation has led to calls for more complete disclosure to eliminate any connection or chance of prank calls to misdirect or busy first responders.

The editors of www.blinkoncrime.com present  a series of events occurring in Albemarle County, VA that pose the question:

What the Hell is going on and what does it have to do with Morgan Harrington’s murder?

The Monsoons of Albemarle County …. PD

Ok, maybe I meant “The monsoor”. Karl Monsoor that is.

Former Officer Karl Monsoor had been tugging on the shirtail of ACPD for years before he finally left with pocketfuls of sunshine. Almost 500 G’s.

It is not my intention to be glib, it is my intention to say that as one of the youngest police departments in the country, enacted in 1983, this tank needed algeacide before this past March.

Death By Cop.. January 1, 2010

Colby Eppard driver seatColby Eppard, described by some as a cross between Gomer Pyle and cool hand luke, had the rawest of deals growing up in Greene County.

According to his foster-mommy-aunt, Tammy Harlow Cox, Colby was hit by a car at a very young age and suffered a brain injury that apparently served to shape his future of home upheavel and juvenile detention facilities.

Ms. Cox, to whom Colby Eppard was entrusted for a time as a foster parent, is no stranger to the judicial system. Tammy was arrested for admittedly having sex with 3 High School seniors athletes on the Varsity Football Team, where her own sons attended. The same school Colby elected to leave without his diploma.

Colby’s family recalls better times, and I don’t think anyone believes this is the last we have heard of this case.

Specifically under VA statute, Greene County Captain Randall Snead was out of his jurisdiction, both when he was called about Colby stealing the patrol car and the fact that he was in North Garden, Albemarle County, looking for it. It would seem the Greene County Roster could accommodate a deputy vs. a captain to respond, no?  Keep in mind, EVERY responding officer was put on desk duty pending the investigation, through at least February 9th, 2010.

While the attorney for the Commonwealth, Denise Lunsford has cleared all officers from all participating counties involved, none of the dash cams have been released despite requests through The Freedom of Information Act..

According to Ms. Lunsford, in an incident that spanned almost 70 miles and over 2 and a half hours where traffic was rerouted and stringers were used, Colby Eppard was allegedly wielding the 20 gauge Greene County Issue out the windows, not one LEO attempted to engage or respond to Eppard in an effort to get him to pull over, or negotiate his surrender at any time.

In fact, according to statements from Snead, Albemarle Deputies Fields and Marden, they were all in place on the south junction of 20 “in the event” he went that way, yet, they did not block traffic until after the stinger caused Eppard to crash.

My biggest question regarding this incident is: Did anyone ask Colby Eppard why he would take the truck and 2 rifles on New Years day ending up in Albemarle County?

Was it related to a New Years Eve occurrance of a friend, family member or associate of his? After Sgt. Hutchinson loses Eppard near the Nelson line, the next time he is seen is parked on Green Creek Rd, back in Albemarle.

What route did he take from 29 South to end up there? Was he seeking Red Hill Road where the overdose call came in to EMS the night before?

By all accounts he was a troubled young man with challenges throughout his young 18 years.

Additionally corroborated by those that knew him, he was never violent to anyone. There were over 6 Law Enforcement Officers from 4 different jurisdictions this man encountered before he hit just below Carters Bridge; 14 by the time the stolen vehicle ended up in the ditch.

Not one of them spoke or attempted to speak to Colby Wade Eppard at anytime he was on the police radio for over 2 hours. Was there an order given not to?

How is it that not one officer responded to Eppards threats, which were even being monitored by the media at this point in an effort to have a peaceful result to this situation?

Did Eppard have a cell phone with him and have the records been checked?

Cort EppardDid he call anyone, like Amber Rogers, his off-again girlfriend of 3 years? His brother Courtney or any of his friends?

In the preliminary release by the Virginia State Police, it stated Eppard returned to his crashed 2006 Ford Ranger truck prior to stealing the unmarked Green Cty car. If he were attempting to have a police stand off, why would he not take the two rifles he brought with him? He left his guns behind.

It also states in the report that Eppard is seen on the video from the STOLEN police car retrieving the shotgun from the trunk and loading it, how is that possible considering all the cameras are dash mounted?

Can someone explain to me how the officers have been cleared, but the footage of  both Eppards actions and their responses, the very evidence of the incident cannot be released? One of the officers involved, Caleb Marden, was fired for reasons nobody is willing to comment on.

There is only ONE way that is legal; if is part of an ONGOING investigation.

So what investigation is it an active part of?

(Editors note: If Mr. Eppard put ANYONE’s safety at risk through his actions, in the end, I say what happened to him was done to protect others, which I support. That said, as it was not so long ago a Virginia Conservation Officer was indicted for the involuntary manslaughter of a 16 year old kid whose girlfriend he was trying to grab out of his moving car, and later had the charges dismissed, I think it is worthy of conversation.)

In a SEPERATE arrest  on January 23rd, 2010, Jeremy Manning– Smith Manning Smith(JMS) with the cool  144 acre pad in Keswick, also indicted on 4/5/2010 , may turn to the fivefold plan to help him out. JMS keeps a cool $55K recession-proof wad around for emergencies. Mr. Manning-Smith is a long time composter, although he never really states what he is growing.

Lisa Powers, copperworks and the fivefold planners say burn the dung. They are pals, although I doubt she is securing his bond.

Cash Runs OUT.. January 24th, 2010

Jason Todd Cash, with NO CHARGES OR WARRANTS PENDING allegedly tries to kill a cop when he is stopped in Nelson Cty in a vehicle registered to someone in Buckingham County. Remind you of anyone? He ran from the scene, leaving the vehicle and eluded police on foot.

The vehicle was impounded. He apparently is driving on a revoked license, which county has that occurred in? We will get back to J-money.

NON Garden Party…. January 25th

At approximately 10PM on the evening of January 25, Albemarle County Fire and rescue services responds to a call at the 37 acre farm of award winning gardening and horticulture experts John Sauer and his wife Cathy Clary. It is listed as a tactical incident rescue and as of March 24, 2010 is still an open incident.  What was it? Who or what needed rescuing?

Mr. Sauer is the long-time gardner for Carr’s Hill, the residence of the President of UVA. Carr’s Hill was the former site of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity until 2003 when it was moved by the city to it’s current location on Culbreth. Ms. Clary is a horticulture proffessor at UVA, and most recently taught a home landscaping course which included a field trip the afternoon of Saturday October 17, 2009.

The Sauers are also members of Piedmont Landscaping Association, which is open to anyone in the landscaping field and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Interestingly enough, there were several fire alarm activations on the UVA campus on this same day. Faulkner House reported a residential fire around 4:10 am.

Threes Company,  Four is Combustible..Jan 26th

Sutherland Firefd

Sometime after 10PM, the residential fire at 3323 Sutherland Rd breaks out.

This would be the fire that is still an OPEN INCIDENT.

This fire,as you can see, was no curling-iron-left-on.

It allegedly started after the residents were asleep, although they had all apparently packed their belongings and were on a month to month lease, 2 had already moved out.

In fact, according to Peruvian vacationer and dog owner of Blanca, the pit bull that perished in the blaze, he was not aware of the fire until days after the fact because he was with friends in Peru.

Kevin Terlep

Convenient, if you ask me, as he has a previous weed distribution and subsequent traffic charge in December 2009.

Meet new pup to the left. In fairness to fair-weather k9’s of America, he was only asking for dog-sitting, and not on the lease.  Choose your kenneling wisely people.

The residential fire at the 3000 block of Sutherland Rd has some issues. For starters, you have the first press release regarding the possible accidental fire since as far back as 2003 before a cause determination has been made.

Additionally the release itself appears to have missed the fact that approximately 2 hours after the last apparatus departs, there is an additional call back to the property requiring 12 responders within minutes of the discovery of Morgan Harrington’s remains. They may have literally passed each other on Route 29; they definitely would have heard the dispatcher.

Sutherland

The former owner of the Sutherland property is buried on Anchorage Farm. A relative of the current owners has hunted the Anchorage Farm property.

The band in the image on the left is pictured practicing in the Sutherland home.

A firefighter, whose identity blinkoncrime is choosing to withhold, who fought the fire, without sleeping took an impromptu trip to New Jersey with his ..”aunt, uncle, cousin, his cousins uncle and a friend..” at 10:23PM January 27th, driving straight through without stopping and returned to North Garden by 1:45PM January 28th.  Through his own facebook postings, he spends the bulk of his time when he is not volunteering for the North Garden Fire Department at his cousins; a Toco Hill address also listed as the home for a recently released registered sex offender.

Retired Greene Sheriff Takes His Own Life.. January 28

There is no evidence to suggest that William “Willie” Linwood Morris’s suicide has anything in common with the Morgan Harrington’s case directly, with the exception that there are obviously folks that knew him as well as other individuals being discussed. I have spoken with a family member, and an individual who has known him for twenty years and by those accounts Willie was in deep discomfort from the tinnicus he suffered from.

He took care of every detail prior to ending his life behind the barn on his farm in Stanardsville, VA, including withdrawing the cash for his own funeral.

Willie Morris was found by Captain Randall Snead, who was allegedly supposed to be on desk duty until the Eppard case investigation was completed.  According to Commonwealth Attorney Denise Lunsford, that was not completed until February 9, 2010, almost 2 weeks later.

Cash is Busted on a Tip.. March 19

Not long out of Nelson County jail for a non-violent offense, Jason Todd Cash is being held in Albemarle County jail since his arrest around 1am the morning of Friday March 19.

One has to wonder if the tip about where Jmoney was hanging out on Secretary Sand Rd from his kin in Amherst.

Clint Cash, a registered sex offender was arrested in December on a felony parole violation and is facing some heavy time . His wife Donna, had just pled guilty to a misdemeanor the day before the tip came in regarding JT Cash’s whereabouts and received a suspended sentence.

Jason Cash was apprehended with help from Bink, the new Albemarle County k9 when the house he was staying in on Secretary Sands was raided and he attempted to stay hidden inside.

What are Coincidences… What are clues?

The aforementioned volunteer for NGVFD lives in same stretch of Secretary Sands Rd.

Yet another relative of Jason Cash, a registered Sex Offender, shares an employer with the cousin of “volunteer”, and volunteer; specializing in outdoor landscape lighting.

Colby Eppard was stopped in the area of Green Creek Rd that is a large parcel of land owned by  Cash family member.

As far as making allegations in this report, there are none. The investigation of the events contained herein are entirely based on public information and witness accounts.

I have come to the conclusion that while we cannot say specifically which one of the issues discussed directly relate to the murder of Morgan Harrington, a primary or secondary scene integral to the investigation of same, and the hunt for her killer(s), but I do believe the incidents need to explored fully in a public forum.

Does this mean that an arrest is coming and you will be coming down to VA? I understand if you cannot comment.

If I remember correctly, when Morgan was found on AF, B was gone on some business that weekend? I always thought that she went to VA. I hope I can say that?

    and then,
“There was no fire at Sauers. It was a tactical incident rescue, which as an example, could be a vehicle in the water.
    B”

So, let me see if I understand the pieces. Ms. Clary was teaching a home landscaping course at AF on the day Morgan went missing. Coincidentally, the evening Morgan was found, on AF, the fire dept was called to her home in Crozet for a tactical incident rescue, such as a car found in a pond.

Can you tell me what constitutes a tactical incident rescue, or should we just concentrate on the car or maybe an ATV found in the pond? Also curious about how a vehicle ends up in a pond on private property at 10 p.m. at night, if this is the case.

Also, does anyone know to whom (what group, UVA? PLA? ) Ms. Clary was teaching the landscaping class to on Oct. 17th and did she have any landscaping assistants with her to say, shovel mulch or something?

And, has anyone ever identified the landscapers at AF reportedly at the scence when Morgan was found. Sorry I don’t have the link, if you need it, I’ll find it.

Does anyone know why Blink mentions the Faulkner House fire, that looks like a clue to me. Why would Blink point out any one particular fire at UVA if there were several on that day?

Why the need to draw attention away from AF–was that even on LE’s radar? I think when she was discovered at AF LE was just as shocked as we were.

Who ever ‘planted’ the shirt took a huge risk–once they ‘planted’ it they had no control over who would find it, when it would be found and no control over what would happen with the shirt once it was discovered–it could have just as easily been made a dust rag or thrown away.

This seems so unorganized compared to the organized way she was discarded at AF.

Very possible, but I would offer a scenario where perp calls for help, a marker if you will.

    Xctly.
Different Profiles= more than one unsub.
    B

Yes, I totally agree that there was more than one person involved. But I think the character of the crime changes from abduction/murder (total unknown, no witnesses, no known evidence) to disposal of body and shirt (body found, shirt found, dna recovered, locations important). Perp 1 controlled the original scenes. Perp 2 is trying to protect Perp 1.

i am sure there is a simple explanation as to how that shirt ended up there…i dont believe we are dealing with a planting of evidence or intentional misdirecting of LE….i believe it was a panic dumping of evidence…maybe planned, maybe not…i dont think the unsub lives near there, but knows the neighborhood, dipped in there, and chucked it…if the perp managed to keep their DNA off of the shirt, there is most likely fibers from a vehicle, not that we will EVER know what kind of vehicle we are looking for, but that shirt should divulge ALOT…not sure if anyone notice by the way, but it was a TEE-shirt, so no sleeves in that weather?? Is there a jacket out there somewhere??

all that said, i could be totally wrong…

(this is just a little but so meaningful sample) how special the Harringtons are to me –

I’ll never forget the Halloween that my daughter and I visited the Harrington house for goodies…Morgan answered the door, my daughter held out her Halloween bucket and Morgan knelt down, smiled, and gave my daughter candy. My daughter was a lady bug that year and Morgan thought my daughter was so cute.

Now, to some people, that may be just a passing moment. But, not to us…the fact, Morgan knelt down, and looked my daughter in the eye, gave my daughter that warming smile of hers, has made an everlasting impact on my daughter’s and my life.

Some people, just bend at the waist and distribute goodies, but Morgan knelt down (how humble), to be at eye level with my daughter. As if, Morgan wanted to take in everything she could about the lady bug. By the way, Dr. Harrington knelt one year too and did the same with my daughter.

Folks…I’m telling you, from personal experience, the Harrington’s are wonderful, loving people. Dr. Harrington has helped in other ways, personally, that mean so much more than any monetary value could be placed…that’s from the heart.

It tears me apart that Morgan is now in a cigar box and the world can’t see that smile any more…

Blink, thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Units from North Garden, Charlottesville, Crozet, Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad and Albemarle County responded with approximately twenty fire fighters.”

The Fire Incident Log shows 14 units responded at about 01:54 in the morning of the 26th to the house fire, incident #000538. The log also shows 14 units dispatched at 08:39 of the 26th in the morning to the same location, incident #000542. The “units” are mostly the same with units designated as CHF 30 and CHF 31 not going on the second call but two additional units, T111 and E52 responding then. And again three units were dispatched at 06:43 on the morning of the 27th to the same location, incident #000558. These units, E34, ST3, and T39, were present on the first two call outs.

Are the first two incidents, #000538 at 01:54 early in the morning of the 26th and #000542 at 08:39 later in the morning of the 26th basically the same response with two numbers? If so, why?

Re: Raccoons, Hazards & The Darwin Awards:

Hummingbird, Acho, Mom3.0 (and Suz, my Queens Compadre…)

I (*blush*) won the Darwin Award of 1982…

We did not have raccoons in Queens when I was 14 (or so I thought). Having never, ever seen one in ‘real life,’ I was thrilled when my Dad came home from work one night and told me he had seen a raccoon skulking in the neighbor’s driveway. I ran to the fridge and took out a piece of Peppridge Farm cinnamon-raisin bread, then bolted out the front door in my giant, overstuffed, oh-so-fashionable-in-1982 cat slippers, in the hopes of enticing the raccoon so that I could see it ‘up close.’

I tiptoed up the neighbor’s driveway waving the bread around (hoping the raccoon would pick up the scent) and to my delight, I saw this gorgeous little raccoon face peering at me through a shrub. As I crept closer with the cinnamon-raisin bread extended as a gesture of goodwill (my ‘Gift of Fear’ apparently on hiatus), imagine my horror when I realized that the “gorgeous little raccoon face” was attached to a gigantor (I kid you not) body, and that my “gesture of goodwill” was interpreted by him to be an act of aggression!

That raccoon shot out of the bushes and chased me down the driveway (shrieking, I tossed the bread!) and across the street (by now I’m screaming) and up another driveway- where I escaped his clutches by leaping onto the roof of a neighbor’s 1970 Harvest Gold Chevy Nova. I stood on the roof of that car screaming “Daddy Help!” at the top of my lungs which, thankfully, scared the raccoon away and (eventually) brought my Dad to the rescue.

I absolutely refused to get down from that car roof (so scared was I of this raccoon), so my Dad told me to sit on his shoulders and he would carry me. At 14, I was 5’9 and gangly, so you can imagine just how ridiculous we looked (think tall skinny totem pole) as we made our way back to the house.

Suddenly, the raccoon shot out of nowhere, reached up my Dad’s legs and started swiping at me. I, of course, started wriggling trying to dodge the swipes (my Dad was yelling at me to “sit still”) and the next thing I know (timberrr!) we toppled to the ground. I jumped to my feet (leaving poor Dad in the dust!) and ran toward my front door, where my mom stood with a look of utter disbelief on her face.

It finally dawned on me that the raccoon wasn’t chasing ‘me,’ he was chasing my overstuffed cat slippers! I kicked them off, pushed past my Mom and hid behind her, peering over her shoulder to see what fate had befallen my poor Dad. He was standing on the lawn with his hands on his hips saying “son of a gun!” I followed his gaze up the street just in time to see the raccoon running off with one of my beloved cat slippers in his mouth!

My friends and I dubbed him ‘Raccoonus Slipper-ata’ and though there were sightings of him around the hood for a time afterward, my precious slipper was never recovered :- (

But! Not as much as he updates his Friends that he’s at Cuz’s house – aka Toco Bell, where he hangs with his “peeps” (other cousins Charlie and Will?) almost daily, watching Ultimate Fighting, among other mentally nutritious activities. He also hangs on occasion with friend Travvy B, whose fiancee is SS’s sister – keepin’ the fun in the family! Somehow, AT finds time to do work on an as-yet-to-be-identified farm as well.

AT’s got a pic posted (3/27/10) of himself standing in front of a massive yellow 4-wheeler (tires up past his waist!), but dude’s mostly blocking it. Hey! Maybe it’s the same one that kept him stranded at home by the snow (missing SS!) on 2/9 because “my 4WD is broke.”

He was getting very frustrated with his job search for several months earlier this year – something kept preventing the “stupid” not-worth-working-for-anyway employers from giving him a chance. Same at the FD, where for all of his testing, studying and self-deemed “over-qualification,” he was being “held back for he said she said crap… what I do on my own personal time is no one’s business but my own.”

That said, AT’s now gainfully employed again – “back at SECO.”

There is more than one Kev associated with that house, though; I am sure on that.

BTW the FF with initials CW is the one who called in a tip on Jan 27th, NOT the same FF as the one who went to Jersey overnight right after that. I can’t tell for sure, but I think there may be confusion on that. The FF who drove to Jersey seems to have a great sense of humor; I hope deep down he takes all of this very seriously.

I finally made it back here. What a lot of great and informative posts. I’ve been down since yesterday evening with some crappy tummy virus. Yuck! I’m always in such a hurry to read the posts and I always go back just in case I missed something! Blink thanks for fixing that funny little error yesterday. You saved face for me. You’re a true friend! (:

The more that comes out in the case, the more I’m convinced that this isn’t the work of one culprit. I feel like at least one female was involved. If not in the actual murder, at least an active accomplice. There’s so many ways to look at the shirt being found on the shrub. Not under, beside, behind, between or inside, but ON the shrub. There’s no way it was there more than hours before it was spotted. Morgan’s shirt was described as a black Pantera tshirt as soon as she was reported missing. UVA students received a mass email on October 18, in the PM about Morgan’s disappearance. So everyone knew to be on the lookout. It was placed there deliberately. For what reason, I’m not sure. Decoy away from AF, trying to frame someone else, or found by a family member or girlfriend of the perp and placed there, or an act of jealously. I don’t think if Morgan was in one of those apartments and the shirt was left there, that it would have been planted even near that area. Niether do I think that someone who lived there that had something to do with it would put it near where they live. It could have been placed there as a warning, I guess, but I’m not leaning there. This has opened a lot to ponder on. Anyway, I do know time’s running out for the killer and the accomplice(s) so my advice to anyone who knows, you better get your ass down to LE and tell what you know. Right now.

Tarheellvr, I am so sorry to read of what happened to you. It’s terrible to even think about. Think God you are still with us. Please know that it is in no way your fault and not because of anything you did. Hang in there young lady and chin up! I’m so glad you felt free to share with us and this is a great group here. So loving and supportive. Welcome to BOC!

Kathy, I’m really sorry to hear about your son losing his home. I’m so glad everyone was okay. It’s always good to hear of people who care and help in a time such as that. There’s still a lot of good people out there. You are one of them! Prayers for you and your family.

There was a post the other day that I somehow missed and saw today when I went back a few pages. Osu, I’m so glad that your niece is okay. That had to be so scary for all of you. Glad it turned out alright. Blessings.

I am amazed at the research and information posted here. Blink, I sure hope you make it to Virginia soon.

Great post Joe Guthrie about Morgan and her family. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. It’s easy to see and feel the kind of people they are. Good to have you with us!

Lol, these raccoon tales are funny. Thanks y’all. I needed a good laugh. I liked your pics Julie of Fat B and Mr. T. I’m glad Tenacious T is okay other than his tale. Poor guy. I hope he gets a good home where he is wanted.

fish—like i have said before, ANYTHING is possible at this point, your theory is as reasonable as the next in my book, given what we (don’t) know….

i have also trudged through the “local John” and “scalper” scenario’s with not much feedback…

the “john/drifter” theory for me is supported by AF being a possible “lover’s lane” spot…might be a spot a “john” has been taken to previously by a local prostitute…as well as someone willing to pickup a “hitchhiker”, regardless of whether one was actually doing so…

the “scalper” theory for me is supported by the fact that they would have a reason to fire up a convo without alarming others, and would also have the “carrot” of a new ticket to get back in JPJA…

bottom line for me is this, while i can appreciate the mind numbing task of all the reseach done by all of the wonderful people here, and they have unearthed some undesirables, let me tell you, i am afraid we may be overthinking it a tad…as usual, i could be, and probably am, totally wrong….

    Re Clementine April 16th 4:35PM

Oh my God Clementine that is too funny!! LOL!!!
I tell you my daughter is 15 and 5ft 9″ and she was SO scared of those UGE raccoons
Hey I was pretty scared as well like I said.I was holding onto that broom pretty tight!
I don’t think I will ever forget your raccoon tale and will read it to my daughter and husband tonight.
Initially I was a bit embarrassed about my raccoon post it seemed OT ( well mom3.O made me feel a bit better about my lengthy prose when she coined the phrase “victory for the victims!”) but that was AFTER
I discovered said turtle alive and rather sheepishly continued on with the Saga of “Tenacious T”
Dear Blink, of the ever edgy sense of humor, along with her kind heart, also saved my day with her moniker for the illegal, abandoned, attacked and left for dead African snapping turtle.
My dear hubby a prosecutor in LE who is now inevitably resigned to his wifes’ various callings and fondness of the underdog, has set off to the office with TT in the back of his car.TT is hopefully recoverin,g but in dire need of expert medical attention and trying valiantly to hide under his favorite rock in his watery abode whilst traversing the LA freeways.Hubby assures me he knows other DA’s who deal only with animal abuse and the like and that they will know where to place him and put him on antibiotics or the like.Being an illegal turtle TT has no medical insurance ( hubby cracked up at that)
God and karma will be left to deal with the careless students! Looking for a wild animal rehabber pronto my compadres because mama says the UGE raccoons HAVE to go.
‘Specially after hearing your story Clementine, and the fact that the cat slippers were never found again.
I wonder if the east coast raccoons took a midnight road trip, dumped the slippers and the west coast raccoons are wearing the evidence as we speak, under my building. Who knows what they have got down there. They really did look like a couple of criminals, it seemed like a woman was involved to me !!
Anyway we have to laugh sometimes don’t we? I love how everyone here on BOC has once again, in Gils’ words to Dan, helped turn chicken sh..t into chicken stew. Somehow TTs’ tragic fate really got to me that day, and now we are all grinning and I have learned a thing or two about raccoons, east coast, west coast and mid atlantic ( thanks MsL )
Kathy, in that vein I am so sorry about your sons fire and the kindness of his neighbors so glad you shared that. Shout out to you Chad glad you are back, glad to be back.
Big breath my end at current hive of activity, information leads and ideas on BOC.
    Shake those branches.
    Keep it up. J4M.

Oh great scott!! The saga continues.
My husband just called and TT is being delivered tomorrow morning to “The Wildlife Way Station.”
A free non profit organization, that takes in and rehabilitates, abandoned or ailing wild animals.
    It is in Sylmar California.
So the veterinarians there will be attending to the wild african snapping turtle tomorrow morning.
SO funny because he prosecuted violent crime for many years and for the past year has been an Environmental DA protecting the planet, and safety in the work place etc.
You can imagine how “Hummingbird” flits around the poor man, convincing him to join this or that and help organizations like “Heal The Bay” dedicated to cleaning up the beaches and coast line in Southern California, etc.
Turns out he likes Wildlife Way Station SO much he is going to get behind them and help them however he can. So WOW how about that Blinksters….Gotta laugh .

Minnie Pennie, I reckon DNA testing (if the root is available) could tell you anything else any other DNA test showed (including gender); mitochondrial dna helps trace the maternal lineage, but I’m not sure whether you can tell gender. Microscopy wouldn’t, according to the FBI’s quiz for amateur sleuths!

    3. By carefully examining hair under a microscope, we can usually tell all but:
    a) A person’s race
    b) A person’s gender
    c) Where on the body the hair came from
    d) Whether it’s been permed or not

    Answer: A person’s gender (b).
There are no characteristics that tell us whether a hair is from a man or a woman, but we can sometimes make an educated guess by the condition of the hair (for example, lots of hair spray!).

TY Hokie Hi. I appreciate the info. I looked up Faulkner House on the UVA website and got that it was once William Faulkner’s house and now houses the Miller Center for Public Affairs. It’s location is 917 Rugby, which, by the way, is not far from Grady.

  41. George says:

If the house fire on Sutherland Road is connected to Morgan being found later that same morning then it might stand to reason that Mr. Bass was NOT the first person to observe Morgan in the field. If Morgan was originally placed in a shallow grave in a wooded area alongside one of the streams the person(s) who placed her there may have gone by the site after the heavy rains and saw that she had been washed out? They then panicked and decided to torch the house to get rid of any evidence that would link Morgan to the house?

  44. HokieHi says:

    Blink:

I understand if you can’t post this as I’m going to ask some specifics but I’m hoping you can point me in the right direction with some clues. I understand that MW is EMH’s step brother. I know who Kevin is and all about his bands. I’ve studied the circle from Waynesboro. What I don’t get is how they might be involved? If the house fire on Sutherland is part of the Morgan investigation then I see how it ties in but the wild card to me is EMH. Granted, I’m sure he can’t have a high volume of internet activities as a RSO but I’m not seeing any mention of him. I don’t see photos in that group or anything else. I admit that I can’t see all of the FB and MS posts for everyone (not sure how some of the people here are doing that) but what I can see seems to show no evidence of him at all. So if he is still our lead POI here at BOC, how does he tie in other than being related? The lack of reference by the group would almost lead me in the opposite direction and make me think they were estranged, in which case I wouldn’t expect any interaction. So what do TWBC, MW, Grindhouse, KH, etc have to do with Morgan? Could EMH be pissed at them and trying to frame his family and their friends? Sorry, I’m trying to follow but hoping you can point the path out with any small clue.

I’m also struggling with AT. I’ve checked his FB postings. I understand there is an RSO living with his family and I read the post by the other MW (not Nacho Libre’s step) about some changes coming up in his life. I admit the NJ trip is strange. Who drives to NJ at 10:30 at night and then turns around immediately and drives back? Something going on there for sure. BUT….in reading MW and AT’s FB, I honestly don’t think there is ANY way they could pull this off without cracking already. Don’t mean to offend but these are not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree. And if the NJ trip is sinister in it’s intent, how do they tie in? Is this a separate theory altogether? Do they tie in with EMH in a link that I’m missing somehow? Or does this path suggest EMH is not involved at all? Again, not expecting you to lay it out in black and white but set me down the right path with a bone and I’ll put 2 and 2 together. Acho mentioned the car being on an “autotrader” type website. Is it possible the car was sold and the reason for the trip was to merely drop it off to the new owner? Sorry for all the questions but you really have me wrapped up and I’m not quitting til I know which one of these a-holes is responsible. Thanks for all you do Blink.

Very good questions… deferring to the group-

I will say this, there is a very distinct reason that you do not see an “e print” on a person matching the description of EMH.

    JDR creates a vaccum.

Try and find Dawson info.. outside of what has already been printed and posted.. you won’t.

Clementine, your dad is a hero and that’s one hell of a funny story. I was a tall, gangly teen and can just imagine that whole scene. My dad would have been in the house cursing, though. My mother probably would have had to run the beast off with a broom.
I am glad ya’ll like the picture of Fat B…that trash can he is passed out in is one of those giant ones you wheel out to the curb, if that gives you an idea of how big he is. He was so exhausted from eating my garbage all night I had to dump him out of the can to wake him up!

HokieHi: the spelling is Faulconer, if that helps you do more research.

I went to hear the Chicken Head Blues Band at Friday After Five on the downtown mall in C-ville tonight, and I left with several thoughts.
    1. Why do people feel the need to name their bands after vulgar sexual phrases? Raw Dawgg, Walrus Bonecock, Chickenhead Blues, etc, etc. I’m guessing most of these musicians formed their bands well after leaving Junior High, so why the juvenile monikers?
    2. As much as we trash-talk it, Charlottesville really is a lovely town in so many ways. A gazillion people were out to hear music, stroll the downtown mall (it’s a bricked pedestrian mall about a mile long with the band pavillion at one end, full of shops and restaurants). It was a beautiful evening, and the music was free.
    3. Morgan should be outside on this warm spring evening laughing and dancing with friends. She is dead. Gone forever. I am not a mushy, touchy-feely person, and I tend to show my emotions more by actions than words. But tonight I really felt the powerlessness that comes from the realization of the finality of a person’s death, and the anger that follows. Maybe the reason her case hits home to me is not just because I was so much like her at her age, but because I have felt a lot of those losses, including one last year. But those losses were not brutally unexpected and out of the norm. Morgan was so young, with so much promise, and so loved. Sitting outside next to a table of about 7 college-age people I felt that heavy wall of permanence that slams you when you realize someone is dead and gone forever, and that they should be sitting at the table next to you with those other kids laughing and listening to the music. It is just so sad and angering at the same time.

Slowroller, I really don’t see Anchorage Farm as being a hook-up spot or lover’s lane. that parcel where Morgan was left is so hilly and remote, and pitch black at night, plus inaccessible except by 4-wheeler. No, this is not a place where a john quickly pulls off the road for sex. I think if this is one perp he chose AF because he has been there before, many times, and it is a comfortable place to him in times of high stress (unlike for you and I, who would view trying to get to that spot as being a source of high stress, not a comfort).
If this is a group of young men who killed Morgan, how is this for a BIB foursome:
    Kevin Haga
    Matt Waybright
    Eric Michael Howell
    A T

So, AT unloaded a vehicle in NJ? Why the need to drag so many family members along?

BLINK–this totally reminds me! You may know or not know to avoid those goggles for three months after your concussion! Sorry about that. Also, no 3d movies or IMAX, no rapid motion stuff like a gyroscope thingie, etc. The visual repercussions are just as valid as the results of the physical blow.
