Haleigh Cummings Case: Sources Say “WE ARE CLOSE”

ARREST IS IMMINENT

Putnam County, FL– Since Monday, breaks in the case of  5 year old Haleigh Cummings, missing from her home since February 9, 2008, have caused a search team to be stationed at the St. Johns River.

Misty

Sources tell blinkoncrime they are close to making an arrest in her murder.

HaleighSearch041410LgVanLeaveLate this afternoon sources inside the investigation have confirmed that Misty Croslin, the former step-mother and last person to see Haleigh alive, was brought back to the scene a third time.

.. We have been hopeful that we could gauge her reactions from the scene, as well as the possibility she might actually tell us the truth, as we have been straight up we are not leaving without what we came for..

“.. The consensus is she is more interested in what was told to us by an unamed individual..”

The recent developments are the work of a 10 month investigation by a retired FBI agent, Steve Brown, who is working for Crystal Sheffield.

“Monday was the culmination of this 10-month investigation I’ve been doing,” said Steve Brown, now a private investigator working for Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield. “We presented this to the Putnam Country Sheriff’s Office and the FDLE, and with their cooperation, finally got the final details of what transpired in that trailer on Feb. 9th (2009).”

While many are speculating that the search teams are poised to locate the remains of little Haleigh, it is this editors opinion that they are searching for something related to what is missing from the scene, a blanket.

Brown believes the presentation he gave to the Putnam County Sheriffs Office and the FDLE leaves nothing left to interpretation as to what happened in the trailor that night.

“There may be other people culpable, but as to who killed Haleigh, that’s not going to be a big surprise,” Brown said.

Joe Overstreet, Misty Croslin’s cousin who was in town the night Haleigh went missing, but has denied any involvement, was questioned last night at 11 PM for the third time at FBI offices in Tennesee, according to his attorney, Shawn Sirgo .

Sources close to the investigation believe an arrest in this case is imminent, and that Misty Croslin is expected to testify in exchange for a reduced charge in the drug charges against her.

Ron Cummings and Misty Croslin have been incarcerated since January 20, 2010 on drug charges.

Haleigh, Caylee, Brittanee Drexel and Morgan Harrington are four cases I have followed from day 1.

I pray that this will finally bring closure to the families and justice for poor Haleigh.

For what it’s worth, I do believe from what I have read and the pictures that I have seen that Ron truly does love his children. Early on, I read that Ron had stayed with Haleigh at the hospital when she was sick and that he took good care of Haleigh’s medical condition. Drug users, dealers, whatever, with all the issues that they do have, can still love their kids and never harm a hair on their heads. My husband’s cousin unfortunately has a problem with drugs ( it’s quite sad actually – started when his father, my husband’s uncle, died suddenly of a brain anorisom(sp?) right after an argument they had – messed him up pretty bad ), but he loves his kids. Despite his own problems, he is still managing to put his two oldest daughters thru college and his third will be starting college next year. The drugs did ruin his marriage and is starting to have a physical effect on him/his appearance though. Anyway, I think that Haleigh was taken to get back at Ron, to hit him where it hurt, for whatever reason, or out of jealousy. I think there are 3 key players – Misty, Joe, Tommy. I could be way off. But, the good thing is that it sounds like we are about to find out and whoever it is responsible will finally be brought to justice for yet another innocent, beautiful, bright and shining life cut short way, way, way before its time.

  4. NancyS says:

I am not so confident that this is it? I mean does Tommy know that Misty has been at this dock and does Misty know that Tommy has been there? and if any one thinks that Joe may be involved, why didnt the police take him to the dock too? and where is Timmy in all of this? I think he and Joe went out in the van that night? why isnt he being arrested? or questioned. This search is not telling me anything. Is it telling any of you anything other than Misty and Casey have a lot in common? I still cannot tell you who I think did this except I dont think Ron did as he was at work but as far as all the others, it is a free for all as even giving a good guess?

You know, in my work, sometimes there are cases you end up hating to cover. This is one of them.

I have felt from the first minute I saw this cherubs face that she was absolutely doomed at the hands of BOTH parents that could not get their chit together. It just sickens me to no end that Misty will not let this baby have a proper burial, and while I do not think Ron knows what happened to his daughter, he put her at risk, just like he did the little boy when the two of them were dealing drugs while she is out there rotting.

I apologize but I know several people that have worked on this case, intimately, for months, all to say the same thing- Unless a body is found or Misty tells the truth, we will never know what happened.

so why are they lookin in the river? a blanket in this water? and what about the body?

  6. MJ says:

I don’t know if I’m buying the Joe did it story. Both Croslins happen to cal their grandmother within 15 minutes of each other, both claim they don’t know what happened after Joe came back and took Haleigh yet they can point out X marks the spot at the dock?

Other than hoping to steal a machine gun what would be Joe’s motive? Taking and molesting and then killing a guys child cause the gun wasn’t there seems pretty hardcore even for a wannabe thug. Ron is no shrinking violet, Joe’s going to do this and his cousin stays with him and then marries him, it just doesn’t add up to me.

Seems like a really good set up. Hope LE can sort it out

  7. joni says:

So it’s Cousin Joe? Good move Joe. Your life is over at age 20? It never even began. Your choice.

  8. Kleat says:

Chica, the PI doesn’t say that Misty did it, and new reports said that ‘suspect in custody’ was a rumour, unfounded. He implies someone other than Misty was involved, maybe more than one, and that Misty might have some culpability, he doesn’t know because he’s not a lawyer. (see his video)

Besides, no DP for Misty even if she did plan to kill Haleigh and carry it out alone because she was a juvi at the time. Unlike Ms. Casey.

  9. Kleat says:

I’m wondering if investigators are playing one person against the next, and yes they may want to have Misty there at the scene for other reasons, but surely it puts pressure on the other parties involved, they see her right at the scene and wonder what she’s telling them, just as she wonders what they are telling about that night and if they are trying to shift more onto her.

But Misty has been successful in holding off for over a year, that buys a lot when you are hiding a body, big advantage to those involved.

  10. Kleat says:

What no one has speculated is ‘WHY’… if it wasn’t an accident or a ‘need’ to cover something else, like molestation, was it because of not finding the gun, kill the child because he couldn’t get a gun back when he wanted it?

And a question, how did the last search come about, was the same PI the tipster in the last pond draining over at the Mondex? Someone point him in the wrong direction? If so, could there be charges if this was linked to those involved or someone protecting those involved?

  11. Kleat says:

Could the PI have found a way to question Junior with professionals to handle him in the correct way for his age and abilities and not to contaminate what he might be able to offer? Three men in black, etc.

  12. Kleat says:

There is an interesting view of the boat launch from Shell Harbor road, if you look up google maps, use 104 Shell Harbor Rd (it’s not at the location, just use it for a quick guide), then take ‘street view’, travel west to the point Shell Harbor rd turns north (right) but remain facing west, you will see the river in the distance, and the block before the boat launch. There is a large riverfront home on the left and parking on the right side of the roadway. That’s how isolated this is, but not perfectly private on one side, maybe the residents remember something from the night before the news broke about Haleigh missing.

I hope theres closure for haleighs family. I think misty is dispicable all along saying that LE needs to move along and leave her alone and than goes on to say they can all his her ass! well looks like she will be the one kissing plenty of asses to save her hide from the needle. Sorry blink but I am just so disgusted and pissed with these irresponsible parents that just dont give a crap about their kids. I know ron loved his kids but he also set up the inviroment! he oviously was also using drugs and than we hear about the gun. Him being around misty and all the other drug addicts was not a responsible thing to do. Now he has to pay the price of the loss of a beautiful little girl. I think misty beat haleigh for peeing the bed and etc.

god bless her spirit which is in heaven with caylee. Its the family left behind that will suffer the loss.

  15. Greg the Mongoose says:

Misty Croslin CRACKED! SAME THING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE ANTHONY CASE!
BUT “Leonard Padilla” HAD TO BAIL OUT CASEY ANTHONY!

  16. MsEnscene says:

Ron C. may have loved his kids. Doesn’t mean an accident didn’t happen to Haleigh and perhaps because of all the drugs in the house, Ron and Misty could not afford any investigation from LE.

I believe some kind of an acccident happened to Haleigh before Ron left for work. (We’ve never heard his actual hours from anyone in this case.)A rage fight between Misty and Ronald may have resulted in Haleigh getting in the middle, or an accidental ingestion of drugs around the house caused Haleigh’s demise. Tommy may have been one of the clean-up crew. The “jumping couch” may have been someone trying to resuscitate poor Haleigh.

I have never believed the story that Haleigh was seen around 7:00 p.m. and I think LE was never able to confirm the time when Haleigh was last seen.

Then there’s Teresa Neves’story of sending people to check on Haleigh. I believe one was Ron’s grandmother and the other an “Aunt Elizabeth” who was, IIRC, a nurse. At least TN said she sent “people” to check on Haleigh. But this statement was a few days after Haleigh went missing. Again, IIRC.

  17. Starsky says:

Blink, you think they ar looking for a blanket and not a body? If Misty is giving up the 411, why wouldn’t they direct their search efforts for a body? Do you think Misrty knows where the remains are? Any chance she is still alive?

I do not think she is alive, and I think the evidence they are looking for is to corroborate a statement.

She said…..I did the right thing and called 911. It was about time SOMEONE in this family talked!

They called the whole family from both sides together for the meeting. On her way out Grandma T was totally overcome with the grief she felt from the news she had just gotten. I reckon they told the family that there was evidence to prove their baby was no longer with us. When she walked out, Grandma T’s face tells the whole story.

The St John’s river flows slowly at most times. It does rise after heavy rains. It is packed with gators.

Decomp gasses may have made Haleigh float down the river a hundred yards or miles. A big variable would be if she was put in an ice chest, as NG suggests, or in a blanket.

I noticed in the video that was looped that the divers were close to the dock. This would indicate the intelligence gathered suggested that her body was weighted down, not allowing her to float away.

  21. Randie says:

I will look again for the website….but, one I read said they have now considered the area they are searching a “crime scene”.

  22. Randie says:

“Croslin has been jailed on unrelated charges, but was seen wearing a blue jumpsuit and handcuffs at the search site, an area of the St. Johns River near Haleigh’s home, just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Sky 6 photographer David Sprung said he spotted Croslin motioning to investigators at the dock.

It was unknown what investigators were saying to Croslin at the dock, but from their body language, it appeared intense as they pointed to the murky water. At one point, Croslin covered her face with her hands as detectives spoke to her. She spent only a few minutes at the dock before a female detective slowly walked her back to an unmarked patrol car.”

  23. smyers says:

No turning back now. Seeing that girl on that dock means she has info. You have to be a drug using dope full kind of person to stand on that dock after a year of lying to everyone. That to me would be the only way you could stand there among all the people who have been looking for her all this time.. How someone does not knock the crap out of her beats the hell out of me. I am dying to know what was told and what the lead was. This to me is big. So darn sad how people can let drugs take over their lives and just not give a thought about anyone or anything. The nerve of someone taking God’s child. I really hope they are tortured one day.

  24. Judi says:

OK, just a little confused on one thing, if Joe took Haleigh because he was mad that he couldn’t find the stupid gun he and Ron were arguing over (do you believe, a child lost her life over an arguement about a gun???) and left, then how would Misty or Tommy know where Joe took her? For Misty to be brought down to the river handcuffed, then they must believe that Misty knows where X marks the spot at and can lead them to it. So, if Misty knows where X is, then Misty would have had to have been there when that precious little girl was placed there, if Tommy is telling the truth and she was. For Tommy to lead them there in the first place, then he would have to have been there too. So, it sounds to me like all 3 know and are fully responsible. So, what, Joe took Haleigh to get back at Ron over the gun, Misty allowed and obviously contributed, why? because she was mad at Ron? because she was jealous of his relationship with Haleigh? and, what, Tommy just helped too for the heck of it? This is a little girl, for heavens sakes. How could 3 people all be willing to make a little girl suffer because of their feelings towards her father? I just cannot fathom how someone could look at a child, the very definition of innocence, and be able to find it within themselves to cause harm to this angel.

As for Ron, I am sure that he will forever blame himself for leaving his children in Misty’s care, ever associating with these low lifes in the first place and exposing his daughter to these POS’s. That will be a weight he will have to carry on his conscious forever. But, he has paid the ultimate price, and that is the loss of his daughter. That kind of loss is a pain I would not wish upon anyone ever. Is Ron guilty of bad judement? Absolutely. Is Ron guilty of living a life style not suitable for a father of two children? Yes. Is Ron responsible for what happened to his daughter? I do not believe so. Did Ron love Haleigh? I believe whole heartedly that he did AND that she was very important to him – you can see it in the pictures of them together, and I think those who took her knew that, and is the very reason why they took her.

Also, is the vehicle that they are asking the neighbors about Joe’s vehicle?

  25. Twinkletoes says:

Unfortunately, there are people just like this all over the nation. Poor Haliegh and her brother were just along for the ride and were easy targets for anyone who had a prurient interest in children. So, what is Joe’s record?

  26. GnM says:

wow. I am truly stunned that something finally happened in this case! Terribly sad but relieved. I think most of us had an idea what happened but LE needed the proof. Thanks for bringing this news to us blink.

  27. Ragdoll says:

Please let’s find a way together to make this better. Another child cannot be lost because of negligence or violence. Ok? Keeping quiet is murder too.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtNYA4pAGjI

  28. Kleat says:

Red, yes. In the old gangster movies, they always weigh things down. That is a big fishing camp immediately to the north side of the docks so obviously lots of activity on the river and it would be risky to bank on gators in the river doing a job in a couple short hours because fisherpeople can get up and out at dawn. There would be worry of sightings on such a high traffic river and news would have been all over on the radios first thing that morning.

Then there’s the LP ‘yellow rope’.

  29. Ragdoll says:

There is no lead!!!!! This is a fabrication, maybe with a shred of truth, made by Misty to create an opportunity to be free from incarceration. Misty is complaining she hates the food, she’s being mistreated, she doesn’t belong in jail, her bond is way too hide, etc etc etc. This is all about Misty and what she wants. Haleigh is not in the equation.

The mother of missing and murdered Victoria Stafford believes Terri-Lynn McClintic lied about ‘knowing’ where Victoria’s body was. As a result, TLM, in the back of a cruiser, sent police on a walk about for hours with NO results. Subsequently, Victoria’s body was found months later. IIRC, the body was no where near where TLM lead police. Terri-Lynne McClintic, 18 and Michael Thomas Rafferty, 28, are charged with Victoria’s murder.

    http://tinyurl.com/y4ceb23 (Victoria’s story)

Misty Croslin is responsible for Haleigh’s death. She was there. She knows and probably didn’t act alone. It could have been an accident. There were people at the Cummings resident the night Haleigh went missing. There was drugs and other shananigans. Who was there? Misty knows along with a few others. THEY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!!!! Misty has figured out that not exposing key details is keeping her from becoming a suspect. She’s failed poly after poly after poly but that isn’t stopping her.

  30. Kleat says:

Judi, or this is to raise concerns to others involved (Misty at the scene). Overstreet wasn’t made to think there was much focus on him this week, his lawyer said investigators questioned him for 1 hour. Then they left, didn’t make the lawyer think that investigators were bearing down on his client.

Could it be that Joe Overstreet is being left to his own devices, feeling the squeeze if he’s guilty, but given rope to hang himself by leaking some actions or statements? If he takes off, for example, if he makes a phone call, tries to learn what Misty has been saying.

Jax news said “Overstreet spoke to reporters Wednesday afternoon with his attorney and his mother at his side…”. Anyone else find this a strange combination of thoughts in one sentence?

“I can’t say nothing about it,” he said. “I wanna say something, but I don’t know what to say.”

Ok– lawyer and/or investigators tell him not to talk or he can’t say because he doesn’t know anything but he wants to say something. …. but can’t because he doesn’t know what to say?

He either wants to say something to help himself, like ‘lie’ or leave the impression that he wants to help but can’t and doesn’t know how anyway.

Something’s not right. I think he’s been given a nice long piece of rope to play with.

And it’s convenient that Ron is in jail on serious charges, so there’s no way Ron can take things into his own hands, and no one involved has to worry about him doing that.

  31. Kleat says:

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 article posted by the Petersburg Times Staff Writer:

” Amber Alert issued for 5-year-old girl”
    “SATSUMA–

Law enforcement upgraded the search to an Amber Alert a few hours after the missing-child report was released this morning. Nettles said he was unsure why the change was made. Amber Alert guidelines mandate that “there must be a clear indication of an abduction” of a child younger than 18 or that the child’s life may be in danger.

Deputies have asked anyone with information to contact them at …”

So, tossing a body in the river without some planning was a risk from the early morning hours when this Amber Alert call was made.

  32. Ragdoll says:

    #32 Kleat

Overstreet knows. I completely agree with your suggestion about Joe being left to his own devices. I just watched his interview on HLN. Joe may be inclined to ‘lie’ that he doesn’t know what to say but his head bobbing up and down while making such statements suggests to me, he knows.

I regret that LE didn’t focus on him from day 1. He should have been interrogated up 1 side and down the other. He should have been polyed. He should have been feeling the pressure throughout the entire 14 months. He was there with Misty. Is Joe of the abusive personality? Is he the reason Misty isn’t talking?

Again, he knows and Misty knows.

  33. SadieBlue says:

I have children, and if they are hurt, it just hurts me so bad inside and I have to help them immediately. My little boy fell and bit his tongue, it was bad, and I was hysterical. Just knowing he was in pain, I just wanted to make it better. How is it possible that any human could stand there and put a little girls’ body into a container and lower her into water? How could someone? And worse, how could several people do this? If she was not in a container, then I don’t know how they could have gone through with any disposal method. They can’t possibly be human inside, they are defective and in my mind should be treated as such, and never allowed to see the light of day again.

I don’t know who did this, every time I think it is one person, something else happens. Misty just seems too stupid to pull all of this off on her own. And considering that Ron is overbearing, and I believe violent, I don’t think she would hurt his daughter herself, knowing he would then turn around and go after her. I do believe she knows exactly what happened and is an accessory. How in the world she has kept the secret this long is something that just amazes me. It is probably the only thing she does well in her life, being a good liar.

  34. Ragdoll says:

    Waves at Kleat!

I still read faithfully, but seldom post. This crap with killing people (especially the children) and confessing to get a reduced sentence is po’ing me bigtime. First the Derkovich(sp) chick (Casey’s inmate friend) who cut the throat of a 15 y/o….now someone who killed Haleigh?

I stand on the line about the death penality. I could never sit on a jury and condemn anyone, nor give the shot to kill them….but, by gosh, the death penality is needed very badly it seems. As a statement to those who are killing these kids.

To hey with saying, “Give us the goods and we’ll just put you in the big house and feed and clothe you for the rest of your life.” It’s time to say “You kill a kid, we will kill you.” Showing no remorse for the life they have taken makes me wonder if I could perhaps sit on that jury and even give that lethal injection!

Sorry, back to just reading :)

  37. Kleat says:

Lawyer uses the same line as Todd Mac did with Casey, he knows ‘he’s the right guy’ or he wouldn’t be there for him. Right– like Todd Mac said, he would be back in California, on a beach somewhere instead of coming to help Casey, if he thought she was guilty.

  38. JR says:

These new ‘developments’ and now projected outcome of this case, to me, defies all logic and seems more likely the best option for those desperate to get out of jail or pressure from law enforcement under their own pressure to put this to rest. A highly publicized case feeling more heat each passing day or potentially something else forcing it to be solved a ‘certain way’.

Misty finally spilling the beans after 14 months of personal and public hell, revealing what happened when cousin Joe came to steal Ron’s gun….Tommy suddenly deciding too after months away from his wife and kids and a failed poly, there is only one thing he can do. Both of them already talking shit about each other, making things far worse for themselves this long and now realizing they can no longer protect their beloved cousin Joe. All of it just doesn’t make sense on many levels.

First of all, the mind set of even the angriest individual whose intent for revenge is stealing the person’s gun doesn’t suddenly switch to ‘murder mode’ and easily capable of killing their five year old child in the ‘gun theft’s’ place. Although I know little about cousin Joe except for his rumored sketchy background with Misty and drug charges, I hardly know of any human being whose logic would first be taking the opportunity to steal a valuable weapon while the owner was at work and avoid confrontation by soon leaving town and when that fails, deciding in a trailer of people, “Fine then, I’ll show him if I can’t have that gun!” Stomping past everyone watching (apparently no one stopping him), to the little girl in the bedroom and yanking her out of her sleep then quickly finding some mode of violence to end her life right there. Anticipating equal satisfaction of leaving town with witnesses behind and the risk of murder charges or Ron’s wrath over his head (instead of the gun)? I don’t think so.
-We have not heard of any evidence to indicate any struggle nor blood nor any physical suggestions of this in either the trailer or the van.
-Misty or Tommy would have tried to fight him or likely some kind of struggle to result in someone having a scratch, injury or bruise.
-Junior would have woke up and heard, saw something more than a man or men in black. Something to be more vocal or traumatized then it seems he has.
-While on many other occasions the neighbors could hear arguing with Ron and Misty or whatever else for there to be record of numerous complaints, no screaming no arguing no banging – NOTHING was heard that night at the trailer until the police arrived.

Secondly, why would Misty hold out this long, compromising herself and everyone around her -all for cousin Joe? When she has already made it clear she doesn’t even like him already from things in the past and her own behavior making it clear that blood does not run thicker than water (loyalty to Ron over her family shown many ways, many times). Even if Joe had threatened her life, I’m sure she could of eventually been convinced by the involvement of the police and escalating publicity around her, that Joe would either be in jail or everyone would at least be aware enough for her to be safe.

Thirdly, from what can be gathered about Ron Cummings and his ‘way’ in relationships, AS IF he wouldn’t have been able to get this info out of Misty by now. The guy screaming to 911 that he was “gonna kill the mfucker responsible for his daughter” and physically abused/controlled his first wife, wouldn’t have beat it or at least threatened the truth about his daughter out of a 17 year old by now? As if Misty (who is completely whipped by Ron) wouldn’t have cracked under the constant pressure on her and their relationship. As if Misty is that cool and slick to have Ron the one so wrapped he would do everything to please her and hope she might mention something about his missing daughter in return.

Does anyone really believe from that night on, Ron was able to avoid bringing up ‘the Haleigh topic’ with Misty while clinging to each other 24/7, treat her to nights on the town with the ‘find Haleigh’ donations instead, publicly defend her and somehow decide it was the perfect timing to make her his wife! Without something other than what we know, I really don’t think so.

-Your child goes missing under your girlfriend’s watch and its obvious to everyone her story doesn’t add up but instead of privately and publicly yearning for truth, the resultiing marriage alone suggests something else. Not suggesting Misty is covering for Ron’s doing, but definitely something of his knowing. The scapegoat in a marriage of convenience and one he could later divorce but still manage to keep her hooked enough to put her back on the front-line, dealing their drugs.

-We all know Misty’s been lying about something, the details changing or things that don’t fit but always the repeated scenario in her answers, every time. When asked point blank on the Today show WHY these little lies? Misty’s immediate reaction in her response was to first look at Ron. A quick but telling look that SOUGHT an answer from him, not kept it from him. If Ron at least knows what Misty knows, why would he be in on hiding info about his own daughter if it was cousin Joe?

Again I have never suspected Ron of being directly responsible for his missing daughter but I’ve had numerous different theories that could all suggest his life style is responsible to various levels. I don’t think Misty is directly responsible either, simply because she’d have to be some kind of 17 year old girl to commit a traceless murder, dump the body on her own or keep anyone from saying a word then dance around her streetwise boyfriend, her desperate family and relentless scrutiny from media, police and FBI this whole time. The only two reasons I can think she would hold out from telling the truth this long, even how badly she wanted out of jail is perhaps worse charges she would be facing herself or her love or fear of Ron. By now I’m sure the detectives have worked that angle on her and possibly part of why she may of cracked or ‘supposedly’ so.

But surely she would have to be saying something more than what she revealed about cousin Joe so quickly in the very beginning. The one most likely suspect given this entire time was also cousin joe whom they immediately cleared from the start and its difficult to believe the investigation went nowhere but full circle to only be pursuing that first lead more aggressively NOW?

-I also find it hard to believe that when Ron got arrested on pile of drug charges out of a set-up obviously related to the focus on his daughter’s case and the result of ‘Misty’s doing’, he would so easily resign to the prison time he is facing with a cheery “Yep, looks like I’m going to prison”. He wouldn’t be the chipper and chatty guy making the best of his situation, like we hear in some of his jail phone calls. He would be whining, kicking and screaming about the being the one whose just lost his daughter, who is suffering the most of anyone in this investigation and now getting years in prison out of it!

I could go on and on about why this whole thing is not as it seems but I’ll stop here and ask why? Why does a little girl need to go missing out of her bed in the middle of the night because of bullshit people with their bullshit drama doing bullshit things. Why after over a year of the entire country focusing on a small community and the full effort of police, FBI PI’s, bounty hunters, narcs, media and numbers of volunteers, the task of finding this little girl has only led to here? Its seems there is far more bullshit involved than the bottom-line.

How can misty have been afraid of an ‘abuser’ that was hundreds of miles away. He didn’t have a car to come and terrorize her to keep quiet. No phone records of months of harrassment. All this time, Misty has been with one of the baddest a**es in satsuma that could and would have brought that skinny pipsqueak to his knees? If not for Misty, for Haleigh. So Misty cowers in fear but marries Ron holding the secret of what happened to Haleigh?
On top of all this, Misty’s bro also keeps this secret…why? cause he’s afraid of his cousin all the way in TN?
So far I just can’t buy it.

a little off topic, but the St. Johns River is one of about only 10 rivers in the US that actually flow north.

The St. Johns River is the longest river in the U.S. state of Florida and its most significant for commercial and recreational use. At 310 miles (500 km) long, it winds through or borders twelve counties, three of which are the state’s largest. The drop in elevation from the headwaters to the mouth is less than 30 feet (9.1 m); like most Florida waterways, the St. Johns has a very slow flow rate at a third of a mile an hour (0.2 km/h), and is often described as “lazy”.[2] It is one of a small number of rivers in the United States to run north. Numerous lakes are formed by the river or flow into it, but as a river its widest point is 3 miles (4.8 km) across, spanning several miles between Palatka and Jacksonville, the latter being the largest urban area on the river. The narrowest point is in the headwaters, an unnavigable marsh in Indian River County. In all, 3.5 million people live within the various watersheds that feed into the St. Johns River.[3]

  41. MsEnscene says:

What are Ron Cummings’ work hours? Never have we heard what they actually were…just insonsistant stories from him, his lawyer, the media and Miz Nancy.

Why did the parent of a missing child immediately “lawyer up”?

Who picked up Haleigh after school? Inconsistant stories from the family vs. people at the bus stop.

Why have we not heard a single person, outside Misty or the families, actually say they saw Haleigh that afternoon or evening after Ron “was at work”?

Why did Ron Cummings not look for his daughter that night, but immediately put Misty on the phone to 911? Hadn’t he just learned of his child missing? Perhaps she had wandered off? Hadn’t she done that before and almost drowned? Or perhaps a grandparent had her. Or her mother. Or the neighbors? Nope right away, without looking or even calling for her or calling around to friends and family, Ron has Misty on the phone to the cops.

Why did Ron Cummings curse at the 911 op and hang up on her twice? Was the dramatic emphasis to ensure believability? Most people are anxious to get out vital details. neither Misty nor Ron could give any substantial answers to questions.

What were the red marks on Ron’s hands really from?

Why are Ron’s stories about sleeping arrangements in the MH inconsistant? Why was everybody sleeping in one room? Were the bedrooms being used for other purposes like “plant growing”?

Why didn’t Misty or Ron recall that same night that family members sent by Ron’s mom to check on the kids were at the MH and saw the kids eating on the porch at seven until a week after the event? Oh, wait. The visit was to deliver laundry.

Why did Teresa Neves send these “family members” GG Sykes and “Aunt Eliza”, a nurse, to find out about the kids? And if she did send them and they did see Misty and the kids why did all this come out later and not right away?

Why did Ron protect Misty when her stories are so inconsistant, and she failed many LD tests, and is called the “key” to the case by LE?Ron was very irritated that LE was picking on Misty. Of course he was always saying about Misty’s changing stories, “I don’t know nothin’. I was at work.” Again, a flat affect when your daughter is missing and your live-in teeny sitter and bed-hopping druggie roomie is “inconsistant” in her stories.

Why did Ron go two hundred miles away to get a memorial tattoo of Haleigh when searchers were combing the terrain looking for his daughter that very day? Again, would you not have wanted to be on hand to lend support and be there if the searchers found something?

Why did Ron marry Misty a month after his child disappeared and go on a honeymoon to New York all to the tune of “this is what Haleigh wanted”? It seems like any ordianry parent would have wanted to wait until the child who so devoutly wanted this happy occasion was there to enjoy it, too.

Why did Ron refuse to come in and talk to the cops for months after his marriage saying “What else can I say besides I was at work and didn’t know what happened?” Huh? Compare that flat affect to John Walsh, Marc Klass and many other dads who tirelessly worked with LE to find their children’s killers.

Why did Ron say that both he and Misty passed their LD tests (his with “flying colors”) and we know that Misty failed several? What were the results of Ron’s LD test?

Why did Ron divorce Misty, yet call her to warn her that Donna Brock was working undercover for Tim Miller and was trying to get her (Misty) to reveal something about Haleigh’s disappearance? You would think he would want to know what she knew about his daughter’s fate if he couldn’t drag the truth out of her in months of pillow talk. (“Keep friends close, enemies closer” didn’t work, I guess, huh, Ron.)

Why were Ron and Misty back together after the divorce and according to Lisa Croslin, Misty was “spending time with Ron and staying over there”? Super-friendly divorce with benefits.

Why did Misty get a tattoo of Ron on her lower back even though they are supposed to be divorced and Ron had a new girlfriend? What happened to the new GF? Was her name Misty?

Why were Misty and Ron, after the divorce, in a road rage incident with a child in the car and a gun mentioned, but with Misty ultimately standing up for Ron and saying no gun and Ron was innocent of any wrongdoing?

Why hasn’t Ron Cummings really looked for his daughter and the one who “stoled my child”? He threatened to kill anyone that took Haleigh, but it seems looking for any culprits was of lower priority than his drug dealing. As Pat Brown stated, “OJ did more to find the killers of Nicole.”

This stuff just off the top of my head in a flash. There’s so much more. If Ron didn’t harm his daughter accidentally or negligently, he surely knows who did and he’s not looking for any revenge.

  42. CC Rider says:

Personally unless someone provides postive evidence as to where Haleigh is I think all three should be charged with murder. Then someone will certainlly talk. One of them knows what happened to Haleigh, who did it, and how. They could let Ron go and then allow Misty and Tommy out on bond. I’m sure Ron would get to the bottom of this now since he cannot deny the fact that Misty & Tommy know what happened to Haleigh.

  43. Marci says:

can someone post what Pat Brown has said?

  44. MJ says:

MsEnscene~ I’m sooo with you on your thoughts. Great observations and questions that need to be addressed. Ron was given a big pass early on because Misty is such a loser and easily despised. It hasn’t helped that nancy Grace took it upon herself to be his most vocal supporter, pointedly and harshly without merit attacking Crystal at every opportunity.
Something is missing in all of this latest bid to cover their butts.

  45. Granmomma says:

GREAT POST, MsEnscene! I felt from day 1 all the Anthony’s knew what happened to Caylee and I believe all the Ron & Misty both know what happened to Haleigh too!

  46. Kleat says:

MEnscene, Pat Brown is at odds with the PI, ex-FBI agent, who has investigated the case on behalf of Haleigh’s mother (and no love lost between Crystal and Ron).

That investigator, who says he’s solved the case, said about Ron, that to the best of his knowledge, he is not involved. And he says he knows who is.

  47. Kleat says:

Steve Brown’s thoughts on Ron’s involvement vs Pat Brown’ television ‘expert’.

    Quote:

Brown said he knows what happened to Haleigh, and evidence prosecutors need to prove it is what investigators are searching for in the river near the Shell Harbor Boat Ramp…

While Brown wouldn’t say who the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office considers suspects, he said he does not think Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, had anything to do with her disappearance. He could not say the same for Misty Croslin, the teenage babysitter who put Haleigh to bed that night and would go on to marry, then divorce Ronald Cummings.

“Misty certainly knows what happened in the trailer that night,” Brown said.
