Haleigh Cummings Case: Sources Say “WE ARE CLOSE”

ARREST IS IMMINENT

Putnam County, FL– Since Monday, breaks in the case of  5 year old Haleigh Cummings, missing from her home since February 9, 2008, have caused a search team to be stationed at the St. Johns River.

Misty

Sources tell blinkoncrime they are close to making an arrest in her murder.

HaleighSearch041410LgVanLeaveLate this afternoon sources inside the investigation have confirmed that Misty Croslin, the former step-mother and last person to see Haleigh alive, was brought back to the scene a third time.

Image to the left, courtesy of scaredmonkeys.com poster grnlizard, is of Misty Croslin leaving in the white SUV.

.. We have been hopeful that we could gauge her reactions from the scene, as well as the possibility she might actually tell us the truth, as we have been straight up we are not leaving without what we came for..

“.. The consensus is she is more interested in what was told to us by an unamed individual..”

The recent developments are the work of a 10 month investigation by a retired FBI agent, Steve Brown, who is working for Crystal Sheffield.

“Monday was the culmination of this 10-month investigation I’ve been doing,” said Steve Brown, now a private investigator working for Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield. “We presented this to the Putnam Country Sheriff’s Office and the FDLE, and with their cooperation, finally got the final details of what transpired in that trailer on Feb. 9th (2009).”

While many are speculating that the search teams are poised to locate the remains of little Haleigh, it is this editors opinion that they are searching for something related to what is missing from the scene, a blanket.

Brown believes the presentation he gave to the Putnam County Sheriffs Office and the FDLE leaves nothing left to interpretation as to what happened in the trailor that night.

“There may be other people culpable, but as to who killed Haleigh, that’s not going to be a big surprise,” Brown said.

Joe Overstreet, Misty Croslin’s cousin who was in town the night Haleigh went missing, but has denied any involvement, was questioned last night at 11 PM for the third time at FBI offices in Tennesee, according to his attorney, Shawn Sirgo .

Sources close to the investigation believe an arrest in this case is imminent, and that Misty Croslin is expected to testify in exchange for a reduced charge in the drug charges against her.

Ron Cummings and Misty Croslin have been incarcerated since January 20, 2010 on drug charges.

O/T but on the subject of missing children, Timothy James White aka Timmy White passed away at the age of 35 on April 1, 2010. Timothy may be remembered as the 5 year old missing boy rescued by another abductee, Steven Stayner (early 80′s I believe). I know a movie was made of the event, ‘I Know My Name is Steven’. KevinTimothy was a sheriff. A side note, Steven Stayner is the brother of Cary Stayner, the serial killer.

RIP Timothy. God bless you and your grieving family.

Kleat, thank you for providing the link. I watched the video. Yep. They all know otherwise this radom anxious deflecting between the 3 wouldn’t be taking place. (Just got word on HLN that this case is now being treated as a homicide) <——2:32 Mountain Standard.

Waaay too coinkidink that Haleigh’s disappearance jives with the timing of JO’s visit (staying at the Croslin residence just down the street from Ron’s place), a stolen gun from RC then returned, and a blue van which was ‘moved’ during the night. Ron wasn’t there but he knows too. He stopped looking for his daugther. Why? What was he hiding? I don’t beleive he was protecting anyone for a na no second, other than himself. The gun was registered to Ron, I believe, but could it be a factor? Could Haleigh have been shot?

We can determine that at some point, Ron, Misty and Joe were all together that day. It seems (I’m not sure) that Tommy, Misty and Joe were at some point all together that same day. Were all 4 together at some point? Obviously, Blink is right. The only way the truth will be revealed is from a confession. Considering the sources of the truth isn’t exactly reassuring. Can we ever believe? If Casey confessed, would it be a confession or an embellished lie with shreds of truth.

SIDE NOTE: Why Haleigh and Ron Jr. ended up in Ron’s custody ultimately is due to his employment and health benefits. So this was the best possible choice for these children, really??????? There seem to be loving, sound minded grand parents that could have been given custody.

Sorry for the scattered thoughts…..especially if my posts aren’t making sense. My mind is rambling.

    ~peace~

Personally I have never thought Ron was innocent. I think that Haleigh died in his care. I don’t know if he killed her or if she ingested some of his drugs and overdosed, but I think he has known what happened to her all along. As pointed out above, none of the current theories make any sense involving cousin Joe suddenly snapping and choosing to kill Ron’s daughter over a stolen gun, and no one taking revenge or spilling the beans until now. It is clear that this bunch and all who they run with are nothing but low life drug users. Their children always come second.

I think Haleigh died that night. Ron got Misty, her brother and cousin Joe since he was in town, to help him dispose of her, and together they concocted the story. That explains why he has never seemed sincere.

I live in a town where meth heads often harm their children while using their shake and bake method to cook their drug. One couple set their baby on fire when their drug exploded and the dad ran from the scene. The mother lied to police about what happened. Another were on meth and their baby got a nail lodged in his head – not sure how – and they DUCT TAPED his head and left him that way for two days. They didn’t seek help because they were high on drugs. People who are drug addicts do unthinkable things to their children that the rest of us would never conceive of doing.

Just when I think I’ve come to some form of conclusion.

Great post and you’ve got me rethinking the details. I am recalling photos of Haleigh with bruises explained away as playground accidents, etc. Just how mean was Ron? What did Misty observe? Could this be a case of battered wife syndrome too? JR, you talk about Ron’s lifestyle laying the set for Haleigh’s ‘death’. AGREED. He may not have killed his daugther but somethin doesn’t jive with his words vs. actions. I bought into his pain. Then, there was a turn around. No more talking. Pulling it together. Odd moves (marriage to Misty).

My scout’s honour. I shant draw anymore conclusions on any cases. We know who knows but we don’t know who did what. UGH!!!!!

RIP precious Haleigh. You must be in the arms of our loving Father.

    Ms Enscene…

you don’t know how RELIEVED I am to read your post…all I ever hear is how wonderful Ron is.

    makes me want to scream

I so so SO agree with all of your questions…I’m thinking you’re a mind reader!

  6. Ragdoll says:

    McEnscene,

Great post! Ron and Misty don’t make much sense, do they? They go to great lengths to cover up for one another considering this is a volatile love hate relationship.

What Ron and Misty have in common is Haleigh. If Ron is abusive, then it’s safe to say things got physical on the day/night Haleigh died. Was Haleigh accidentally, or purposely, struck and later died of her injuries, then disposed of? It’s quite possible Ron is responsible for Haleigh’s death after all but why does everyone named in this case have something to lose?

  7. Randie says:

Wednesday they called it a “search”.

Thursday they called it a “crime scene”.

Friday it has been call a “homicide”.

They say people are finally talking and telling them what happened.

    There finally may be “closure”

    This is sooooooo sad…………

  8. Kleat says:

Ron was still the head of that household with the babies given no choice but to be there, exposed and without a chance. Indirectly, his lifestyle exposed the babies to things that should be illegal to expose any child to, on it’s own merit. Automatic weapons? What does anyone need an automatic weapon for except killing people?

Who knows how the investigators are playing this out, what they say publicly may be for a dual purpose. The Croslin side of things is protecting all the Croslin players– so far we know of three of them at the home that day.

  9. Kleat says:

This is so much worse, now it’s likely Haleigh was killed on the dock or at the crime scene and the grandmother was told this morning, that a yellow rope was used, tied around Haleigh, a rock tied to the other end and she was tossed into the river. This is an execution.

Misty and Tommy called their grandmother today.

I do not believe that for a second. If that statement was made, it was made by people blaming the other, who both know Haleigh will be found with yellow rope and a rock.. Indicating she was dead when she was put in the water. Where did the yellow rope come from?

Did I mention I hate this case? God Bless you Haleigh Baby.

I pray your soul soars in peace, and the heaven of a 5 year old.

  10. Kleat says:

If Ron was willing to give up his freedom and kill whoever did this, he might have been willing to help set up a drug bust to bring needed pressure to bear to find the truth and Misty was key.

  12. arkygrl says:

The first clue I had that Misty was involved was when she said she woke up to go to the bathroom and noticed the kitchen light was on because she had turned it off before she went to bed. Since the kitchen adjoined her bedroom, it wouldn’t make sense the alledged kidnapper would enter the home and put the light on in the kitchen.

Tho most people think Ronald Cummings is innocent, I do believe he was too melodramatic in the 911 call saying he didn’t care if the conversation was being recorded, he was going to KILL who ever took his daughter. Right there, at that very moment, he wanted to establish he had nothing to do with it! So I have my doubts, and hope I am wrong.

  13. Kleat says:

Cindee, and it took so much to pressure Misty. Thank goodness no one allowed Leonard Padilla to get involved to spring Misty on bond as he did with Casey.

  14. suz says:

Gotta’ be cousin Joe, right? Molested Misty and some other relatives; went to sleep the night Haleigh went missing fully clothed instead of in his drawers; was mysteriously gone in the middle of the night when Misty’s brother woke up; was back the the next morning, but the keys to the white van were in a different spot, and the van had a big scratch on it; fled the state a few days later.

I mean…if it’s him, what took so long?

  15. PamVA says:

I’m watching Misty’s Grandmother on NG right now. I feel really sorry for this lady. She is being used by those crazy Grandchildren of hers. She really doesn’t believe Misty had anything to do with this. I hate to tell her that Misty was the person in charge of poor Haleigh when this happened. I feel sorry for the detectives working this one; trying to sort out these “stories”. These Croslins are all crazier than shithouse rats!

  16. Kleat says:

The grandmother is key to some of this information, according to her statements on NG tonight, she’s pointed LE in where to look. She doesn’t believe (or want to believe) that Misty hurt Haleigh. But we know Misty was running that drug dealing show she was caught in, we know that Misty was not happy with Haleigh wanting to wear different clothes that day, or just before she disappeared and how she had to go to lengths to comply with Haleigh as if it was a bother to her.

What is Misty’s relationship with Tommy like, does she pull the strings with him, and likewise with Joseph? Did Misty have the motive and the ability to orchestrate all of this? Misty to her father in a jail call talking about their respective bonds, she demands that her father take care of her ‘first’.

What is it that Joseph can not say if it is not self-incriminating? PI Brown says that people will not be surprised at ‘who’ is implicated in this. Maybe Misty, since she was on the dock with investigators without her lawyer present, feels that she can shift any blame from herself onto the boys and that she could voluntarily go with investigators. Maybe she is as realistic with herself about her situation, as Casey is about hers.

I have one thought when thinking of Ronald Cummings who I believe knows exactly what happened be it owing people money (bad people) or her taking one of his pills to God I don’t want to know.
WHY would Ron and Misty feel the need to put a headless rat in Tommy Croslins mailbox?
Why would Teresa Neves not be screaming from the roof top at Misty and asking Ronald what the hell is wrong with you she KNOWS what happened to my grand-daughter? Even on the Today show this week after being called into the sheriff to be “told” what they think they are going to find, she is still not MAD? all I can come up with is to protect her son….

I cant even get a good guess on who did this one except for Ron as he is the only one that seams to have an alibi. I have the feeling he did this drug deal to do what has been done here and that was to wait til Misty was 18 as if Ron worked with the cops before as an informant then he is used to doing these things like this.
who knows though, I am waitin til the arrest someone for sure……

  22. Kleat says:

I was wrong, Misty does drive. Early interviews with Misty last year, she laid suspicion on the lap of Hank in one media interview, then she wonders the same things about Joseph.

Her ‘snarky’ attitude shows through in glimpses, talking about Haleigh wanting to change clothes, and then the same snippet of attitude appears when asked in an interivew about the pink top and in her response, the attitude shows when she says she showed the top to the police, and why would she do that if she had anything to do with her going missing. Same attitude as in her jail ‘kma’ attitude, but just little glimpses of it.

What doesn’t fit is all the players talked about, have the same motive. Misty has one motive as non-custodial caregiver, males unrelated, don’t have that motive but may have another. They don’t have the same motives, so will they have the same roles in what happened?

  23. Kleat says:

Ronald’s grandmother, Annette Sykes, saw Misty at the trailer, saw Haleigh and Junior at 7 pm eating supper on the front porch, the night Haleigh went missing. She knows Misty, believes the children love Misty and Misty loves those children. ‘Extremely mature’, is what she believes about Misty at the time of this interview.

Not to be disrespectful, but I don’t believe a single person in that family entirely.

  24. BB12-Chris says:

IMO Ron and Misty are responsible for HaLeigh DEATH-Murder. IMO

Ron behavior from the 911 call – “I will murder who did this”…to not even searching for his daughter, to never confronting anyone… to the tattoo of HaLeigh, to the marriage, all when HaLeigh was suppose to be MISSING not dead and memorialized. Ron’s mother being 100% supportive and kind to Misty even though Misty has lied, and lied, and lied and failed polygraph after polygraph and is clearly on DRUGS. Yet- she is supportive and allows Misty to care for JR. Ron and his mother still allow Misty to care for JR?? wtf ??

Ron spend his days dealing drugs and his nights getting high not looking or searching for HaLeigh. Dating a stripper while playing Misty. Ron kept Misty real high this entire time. Even after Misty started saying she thought it was JOE (day 9)- RON did nothing. No confronting- Nothing. Kept his mouth shut.

Ron sticks a dead headless RAT in the CROSLIN family mailbox and yet- never confronts a sole about his daughter? Ron has been charged with assault before, all hid gf claim Ron beat them, Ron hits his children… yet does nothing for 14 months. Violent Sociopath FREAK.

This is why RON REEKS OF GUILT. IMO

  25. MsEnscene says:

    Lori,
Even if Ron is in no way directly responsible for the disappearance of Haleigh, he is indirectly responsible for it all because of his life-style, as many have said. He was abusive to the three girl-women we’ve seen that he consorted with. Always young and wayward young females from dysfunctional families whom he either led into or aided their druggie lifestyle. That way he could actively abuse them and use them for whatever nefarious goings on he was into at the moment. He controlled them until they, even in their drug addled ways, could stand him no longer.

He lies like the proverbial rug about himself and his past. And he is constanly enabled by his women relatives who seem to live only for him and let him do whatever he wants, even to bringing into their homes under-aged girls. The reaction of his cousin, Hope Sykes to his “charisma” was really very telling. Not only is his a rock star persona, Ron rules the family. No men of any account around to give him a run for the master’s chair. How he has stayed pout of prison this long is probably due to some generational feminine political connections in that county or he is an informant on other druggies. And,yes,I am guessing.

The fact that so many, mostly women, find him so attractive and wonderful is a mite puzzling and most interesting. I guess some women just love the “bad boy” and Ron certainly can wear that mantle. I am sure, if he goes up for the drug charges, his comissary account will be actively maintained.

Many of the Ron fangurls actively hate, I mean hate and despise Crystal Sheffield, and wish her harm. (Not on this board, thankfully.)Some are breathelessly awaiting her doom and predict she will fail so that Ron Jr. can be handed over to his grandmother, or foster parents. I’ve seen a lot of mind boggling stuff in this case, but Ron affection on the Internet and elsewhere takes the cake.

Miz Nancy is a prime example. On Wednesday’s broadcast she ended by saying “Ron Cummings and Teresa Neves have often been guests on this show, our hearts go out to them with these new developments.” My jaw dropped. No word of consolation for Crystal? I decided then to never watch Miz Nancy, again. I should have been one of her former watchers long ago with her no apologies in the Duke U. case. I was too greedy for news about certain other cases. But now, buh, bye, NG.

Thanks, everybody who responded. Really appreciate the comments. And JR, I loved your post. So well thought out. Sorry to be so late in telling you.

Yes, Kleat, I did read what Crystal’s detective had to say about Ron not being involved. Many other high profile people have also said this. I respect their opinions and they certainly are far more experienced than I with my gut feelings.

Oh, but he is involved. Right up to his earrings and ‘stache. Even if he is technically innocent in Haleigh’s homocide, he is the ultimate mover and shaker of this tragedy. IMO.

  26. suz says:

Pam, not that a 17 y.o. can’t watch a chils, but let’s remember that Misty was just a young kid herself. That druggie perv Ronald got himself an underage babysitter and Yseems likeU drug mule, then beat the felony statutory rape charges by quickly marrying her whenthe age diff came to light.

    What a mess. Poor Haleigh.

  27. lisah says:

i’ve wavered in between ron being involved in it
but i do believe misty knows exactly what happened and i think she will lie lie lie to get out of being blamed for it
she’s stayed quiet for 14 months – she’s not going to let the truth out now, at least not the real truth, mistruths and halftruths perhaps but not the whole story
when they finally pull some evidence from that river, i wholeheartedly believe they will be able to piece it all together, just as they did with Caylee’s case, it wont be airtight but it will be enough to put the monster who did it behind bars for a long long time
bless you Haleigh, we’ve all prayed a whole lot for you, you are in paradise now

  28. dee says:

    Blink,

bless your heart, when you say you hate this case, I feel you I really feel you, so many of us have been praying for this lil Angel, unlike the Caylee Anthony where there is and always has been just one perp involved, this case is maddening, how these sorry azz’s could just continue on with the lies all this time, makes me sick, but what made me really sick besides of course the (murder) disappearance of lil Haliegh, I remember the video shot of Misty’s wedding ring, her showing it off for the camera, her sashay out of the Justice of the Peace office chasing after her man, the Ruff Neck Back Yard Shot Gun Wedding, Misty heading off to NY for her cameo’s, paraded all over the news like she was some hot new celebrity while this precious child lay dead makes me want to slap the be-shizzal out of her, just walk up to her and lay one on her right in the kisser.

I hope they find something and soon, I take much comfort knowing her behind is right where it should be, I am not quite sure where I stand with what happened, I think lil Haliegh might have had an accident and Misty got angry and went off, she was tired and hung over from her binge that past weekend, I think about that statement about washing the blankets and Haliegh having an accident, I am wondering what exactly the importance of that comment is, inside Misty are the classic half truths we have all become so familiar with, wondering if “Bro” was called to the scene to assist with the cover-up, but I don’t quite know where to place the cousin in all this right yet, what was the deal with the relatives van that night that had been moved…..hmmmm so many thoughts I am all over the place….

I just find it chilling the images of Misty on the dock from the other day, “if” her story of the cousin taking the baby and pulling a knife on her was true (NOT) how the hell does she know anything about that dock, what??? was she not really that scared that she followed her cousin Joe to the dump site, but all of the sudden was way to scared to tell police….complete and utter **cough**cough** bullshi!

I don’t by one damn word of it, here we go again all fired up with no place to go…

I will continue to pray for justice for the innocent lil ones…thats all I can do..

  29. SadieBlue says:

Well, last night I was convinced Ron was part of it all, but after reading all the comments, I guess I can’t be sure. Maybe he did help out with the drug sting in order to help squeeze the others a bit. They did separate him from the others once they were all caught. I just don’t know. But as said above (MsEnscene says: April 16, 2010 at 4:23 am) I am also very puzzled as to why so many women love Ron and hate Crystal. I have never believed she was involved and the tears I’ve seen from her have always appeared to be real. Nancy Grace is a vicious woman. I don’t know why she went after Crystal, but I will be thrilled when she is proven wrong. I was surprised and very happy to hear these latest revelations came to light through the work of a PI hired by Crystal. I am anxious for this to come to an end and to finally understand what happened. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will be today.

I never have believed in Ron.. His falling down on the ground sobbing just didn’t seem real to me. And the MIZ Nancy thing made me want to puke.. I can barely even handle NG now days and only watch if I think there MAY be NEW news..
I remember watching Ron and Misty on the TV when, I think it was the today show, she was asked why so many stories and it was automatic for her to look right up at Ron.. He had the power.
I was in a abusive relationship before and if I was gone for a couple days (which I wouldn’t of ever even tried to do) I would have been terrified to go home. I don’t think it was a pretty sight at the trailer that day she came home..
This whole case is so confusing!!! I do believe a lot of what Haleigh’s mom has had to say though. I think Ron was very abusive to her and she was scared of him. She also didn’t think his reactions were truthful from the very begining

  32. PamVA says:

If dogs picked up Haleighs scent to the river, this would tell me she either walked or was dragged down there. Would dogs pick up her scent if she was carried?

  33. Lori says:

All of the recent stories involving single mothers who leave their children with boyfriends…who end up beating, molesting, killing these innocent little ones…people are justifiably angry about this. I’m a single mother who raised four small children single handedly, and it wasn’t easy, and we had some rough times, but let me tell you this:

    never
    ever
would I have entrusted those babies to a man, let alone a drug dealing junkie.

my point is…Ronald Cummings is simply the male version of these mothers who leave their babies with Anyone, regardless of their habits, background, etc. Why do people get (justifiably) riled up at mothers who leave their babies at these monsters’ mercy, but Ron is hailed as some sort of “superhero” single father? He did precisely the same thing: left his two precious babies in the hands of Misty, a major druggie and her circle (which was also his, don’t forget)of freakish family and friends.

He is every bit as responsible, if not more so, as anyone involved in Haleigh’s death. He’s her FATHER for God’s sake.

Whatever happened to protecting your children from the dangers of the world?

  34. Ragdoll says:

    #30 Sadieblue

I’m riding on the same wave! I seriously considered Ron could be involved.

My hunch was Misty beiug key but I did not think she was Haleigh’s killer. I was leaning on the ‘she knows WAY MORE and she’s covering…..but for who’.

CSI is not my thing but on a serious note, it’s horrible to be consider what beautiful Haleigh endured.

Is anyone else surprised at this? It’s almost a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde complex. Kleat brought up that Misty was agitated that day because Haleigh wanted to wear something different. Completely forgot that detail! Was that glimpse into an impatient, immature self indulgent personality or drug related mood swings?

As for Ron reacting with melodrama over Haleigh’s disappearance, I respectfully disagree. His torment and helplessness felt genuine to me. Heart wrenching, even.

  35. Kleat says:

Blink, just sayin’ what she was sayin’– everything wonderful, and like that.

‘Extremely mature’, is what she believes about Misty at the time of this interview.

  36. chitownlady says:

I am with your BLINK! I have followed this from the start. Misty’s whole family are a bunch of hayseeds. The only one that seems to makes any kind of sense is perhaps Ron’s own mother! I think she has faced reality awhile back! Why this case was allowed to go on and on for as long as it has, I will never understand. Nothing EVER made sense…Nothing they said was ever the truth….lie after lie after lie.So so sad. Bless this child. She is truly in a much beter place. I pray they actaully do find her remains. but a very real sad reality is there are gators in that river…..I shutter to think of that! They shoudl toss Misty in that river with a couple of chickens around her neck….Here gator gator! Sorry! Way I feel……

  37. FairWitness says:

The whole Croslin clan is despicable, utter human debris! And Ron Cummings, WTF? Why was he anywhere near these people? He had children to protect and now his daughter has paid for his lack of judgment and drugged-out lawlessness. My God.

Blink, where is Junior? Please tell me he’s safe and cared for by someone responsible and law-abiding. I sure hope his worthless biological mother doesn’t have him. Another druggie! I’m with you, Blink, I HATE THIS CASE!

I do not think Ron was involved, I do believe he loved her very much, however I think Haleigh was taken to either get back at Ron or by Misty in a fit of rage/drug induced rage. I think Ron’s lifestyle and the people he chose to associate with caused him to lose his daughter. BUT, if I am wrong, and he was involved, then I will be the first to say let him fry with the rest of them.

Don’t think much of Crystal either – she didn’t even know what time Haleigh got home from school and from what I have read, didn’t even show up for custody hearings, and of course, had drug issues of her own.

So, Misty’s gram has been told 3 stories now….

    1) Joe and Tommy tied a yelow rope around Haleigh, weighted her down and tossed her in the river – unknown if “alive or dead when she hit the water”. Geez, I could barely TYPE those words…

    2) Misty hit her in the hit with a piece of wood.

    3) Joe killed her.

HOW DISGUSTING IS THE CASE!!! How can ANYBODY harm a hair on this angel’s head? Any and all of the 3 scenarios make my absolutely sick to my stomach. Ugh!!!

This case is one that is very, very hard to handle. You look at that beautiful, smiling, innocent face and ask yourself How, How can anybody do this to this precious angel????

I see what Blink is having a difficult time covering this case. It just rips your heart right out of your chest!!!

Ragdoll “As for Ron reacting with melodrama over Haleigh’s disappearance, I respectfully disagree. His torment and helplessness felt genuine to me. Heart wrenching, even.”

    I agree.

If Misty were a male, people who think she’s just covering for others, might have a different view. It’s sexist, she was the caregiver and not the mother, Haleigh was in her care when she disappeared and she’s not covering for anyone, she’s covering for herself, and when it’s suited to point fingers and make suggestions, she’s done that from the earliest interviews.

  42. Kleat says:

Not that others were not involved, but Misty isn’t worried about them, only about herself.

As Misty told her father from jail, ‘take care of me first’ (vs Tommy).

i believe ron is so filled with guilt for leaving his daughter with misty. i also believe that misty came home from the three day drunken binge in very bad shape. i am sure she was not in the mood to put up with ronald’s two children. i think haleigh wet the bed and that is what made misty come unglued, it meant she had to clean it up and do the laundry when all she wanted to do was sleep off her binge. i do believe she harmed haleigh and that she called her brother who brought along her cousin. they disposed of the body. i am unsure if haleigh died at the trailer or if the two men killed her because they were afraid that ronald would kill misty when he came home to find haleigh severely injured. all the people involved in this case are inveterate liars and petty criminals. there is no family bonding. it is really a very sick and dysfunctional group, including the grandparents who stood by while ronald acted out his pedophilia with his various teen-age lovers. those children should have never been left in the care of ronald and certainly not in the care of someone like misty. i think the courts failed haleigh and ronald, jr. it is really a tragedy that these trashy adults were given the privilege of raising haleigh. i hope they all remain in jail for a lifetime. godspeed haleigh to the arms of our Savior.

Mom3,0 you are so right. What horrible horrible people they are.
For me 3 things in life that are absolut untouchable. First Children for their purity, old people for their wisdom and animal for the the unconditional Love they give.

  46. Twinkletoes says:

I think a parent can genuinely grieves at the death of their child AND behave in a way during the child’s life that is neglectful, harmful, and even makes survival of the child unlikely. Ron may have felt/be feeling genuine grief and may have loved Haleigh as much as Ron knew how. But none of that changes the fact that his behavior, whether he was conscious of it or not, made her murder more likely than it would have been otherwise. His intent is irrelevant at this point. His actions are not.

And for me to say nothing is equal as to say yes, to what ever. So Misty for me, you schould have fight for the Baby with your life…

Kleat, 1000% agree with you one your assessment about Misty. She’s in trouble and she’s scared. It is all about saving her hide.

I have never considered how differently this case would be handled if the caregiver was male and not the parent. We’d know Haleigh is dead. I’m not sure if that was your point but it could very well be a different outcome by now.

    Twinkletoes,

I get you. Ron’s lifestyle lended to Haleigh’s disappearance. He’s guilty in the sense of not providing a safe and nurturing environment for his childeren. He was not thinking (I soooo want to word this differently) about his children allowing a strung out 17 year old to care for his children….especially for large spans of time. To top that off, he’s having a relationship with her. It’s slimey and icky on every level.
