Charlottesville, VA– In a new development in the murder investigation of Morgan Dana Harrington, blinkoncrime.com has learned that Anchorage Farm was very much a frequent party spot for local musicians.

In fact, there was a 7 Mile Sleepover exactly one week after Morgan’s disappearance from the JPJ arena that included an invitation list of over 130 guests.

7mile

Jenny Bass, the adult daughter of David and Nancy Bass, is an accomplished pianist, musician, horticulturist and artist in the Charlottesville community.

The Seven Mile Sleepover appears to have been posted prior to Morgan’s disappearance, approximately October 14, 2009.

While it is unconfirmed how many guests actually attended the event, it is clear there could have been over 100 people within a few hundred yards of Morgan’s final resting place a week after she went missing, and presumably, her death.

As Anchorage Farm is a verified crime scene in an active murder investigation, one wonders if anyone found anything they may not have realized of importance at the time.

According to her facebook, Ms. Bass was clearly disturbed by her discovery as well:

    Mrs. Harrington,
Your words tear at my heart and yet somehow fill my soul. I know that you hurt and that Alex and your husband must hurt too. You are in a lonely place, for sure. I know that you realize your strength, your determination, and your courage.

You are after all, a survivior.

I wish that I could do more for you and your family. I wish that I could have been there for your daughter. I wish many other things. Yet, sadly my wishes will not come true. They are what they are. Just wishes. But see, just like you, I have other children. A son and a daughter with eyes like Morgan. Hopeful for their future and even eyes that test their parents. I know that you are there for your own son. It is those that are left behind that need our love and support. They are not to be overlooked. I, at times, was overlooked. They were too busy sitting at a grave wanting what was not coming back. They missed me and my family. They missed first steps, first recitals, first-firsts of almost everything. I begged and pleaded and then just stopped. I cry for them and for you. My point is find your joy within Alex. He is there. Trust me, he needs it.
People say all the time, “Oh, she wouldn’t have wanted us to mourn this way”. I have said on this site, I never believed that but I now know that is true. That must be true about your daughter. She wouldn’t have wanted you not to feel joy with Dan, Alex, and the rest of your family and friends. She seemed so full of life. You seem so full of life. Even from that distance with my own standing next to me. Her own eyes as big as golfballs looking at your dispair and your beautiful shawl. Yes, she noticed and remembers. Kids are funny that way. She asked then, “How is she going to survive this, would you Momma?” I shuttered then as I do now. She thought you to be so small. I told her that some of the best things come in small packages. I now say, some of the mightest! You will be OK and you will survive.

So, please, remember that word, SURVIVIOR!

It will carry you through some dark hours. It is with saying this, that maybe you need a direction to your son. Maybe it will help experience joy. I do not know how he is but I hope coping as well as he can. Your love and guidance will sustain not only him but you as well. Morgan would have wanted that.
I do not pretend to know you or your family! So please, if necessary, tell me to be quiet and stand down, I will. I only know some pain and some joy, though I try to always let the joy outweigh the pain. It is hard and sometimes, well alot of times, I cry and cry hard. I’m a work in progress, so now are you. Become that beautiful mosiac that your family is now. Morgan is still there within all of you!

If I may say something, (like that has ever stopped me!), the evil that took your daughter’s life must be stopped. You are the only one that can truly speak for your daughter. So speak loudly!
You know this, Mrs. Harrington and we are here helping in whatever way we can. Maybe it does not help a hill of beans but just knowing that you have an army of supporters may indeed give you some strength.
Give you some sunshine on a rainy day!
Gil, keep writing and sharing yourself with us. It is a gift from God as was your daughter. No, you will not share her graduation, her wedding day, her first born but you must remember what you did share with her. Maybe that was what we were only suppose to have.
    Twenty years.
Start with her life celebration that is yours and only yours. As I turn forty-six, I will blow my candles out for you and your beloved daughter, not extinquishing but for the wish that I, that we here, provide you some peace and comfort in your days ahead.
    Be brave.
    Be strong.
    Be a survivor, Gil.
It is what fortunately you were given.
    Twenty years of pure joy!

We are all here for you and her!

love and all the support I can give, fish

From post #41: “The purpose or symbology for the labyrinth may be to keep out benevolent spirits from the knowledge contained in the piece as was an ancient purpose for constructing a labyrinth.”

Do you mean “to keep out benevolent spirits” or malevolent spirits? I want to be certain that I understand your meaning.

Also, as someone who knows quite a bit about art, I believe that whoever did these floor pieces is pretty technically skilled (not a novice and not a master). Finally, does anyone else see the resemblance (sorry) to MH in one of the drawings? It’s a young blond woman with a heart shaped face in a kind of Eastern goddess pose…I need to look at it again. Okay, I see that George above (May 20th) mentioned the same thing, about photo #14.

I agree that the drawing might resemble Morgan, but I am not seeing blonde hair exactly.

I am intrigued by the fact that it is a drawing on a single sheet, as opposed to the “scroll”, and she is clearly not meant to reflect the other 2 women in the art. Can anyone comment as to symbolism of that particular piece?

Here is my novice observation, emphasis on the novice:

The sword is actually a male reference, and in Tibetan Buddhist art, manifests as the weapon to destroy ignorance. I believe the exaggerated forearm is a tantric reference, and if I could see better to the right of her waist, that may be a symbol of his face. Could be yab-yum, but I don’t see the male counterpart if it is.

She is clothed, out of respect, in a clearly contemporary and un-symbollic shirt with sleeves.

This is a drawing of a particular individual, known to the artist, and not a diety depiction.

It is odd because there are elements that are somewhat in keeping with buddhist drawing “rules”, but then the departures are very obvious. (ie: bare feet showing corectly, yet no visual of the right hand.) The Mudra is very important to the depiction.

Her root delusions I cannot read, but I think they are symbolized, as it looks like the circle grows from them. Which would be seen in a Tagatha.

I dismissed this early on, but now I am not so sure. The more I look, the more I see Barbie Buddha, which of course as lovely as Morgan is, could reflect her.

The chunk out of the leg I would sincerely appreciate someone weighing in on, I could not find that reference anywhere.

Thank you for posting our thoughts, fears, and words of encouragement. I cannot help but feel that you have been chosen to be the vessel in which, healing starts. I hope that the Harrington Family know this and read our words. They are not empty and just written for the sake of seeing them in print. They are from every corner of our collective hearts. They are truly and deeply heartfelt and from our vast collection of life experiences. Sometimes, I feel like a total imbecile and do not even know why I write but then it is times like reading what Dolce wrote, that I feel that what we say does mean something. We are sharing in times of great sorrow.

I just wanted to thank you for this moment in time!

And, because tomorrow I will have six years on ya, so that makes me older maybe not wiser but I’m going to say that I’m glad to have met you even in the most desperate of times.

Much love to all that help continue to be a voice for all crime victims and their families everywhere.

CW…thank you for the information. I know that in some states, you can hunt from the roadside. Not here in Texas for sure! I was curious because of the poachers/spotlighters and if any vehicle on the side of the road would raise suspicion….which it sounds like it would. A couple of years ago we found a large doe, dead at the end of our drive where she dropped after she ran when she was shot by spotlighters. When we see suspicious vehicles on the side of the road, we usually get up and drive down there to see what is going on. In Va., I would suspect it would be difficult because of the trees and inability to see distances in certain places. I also want to say, gruesome as it is, we have had a calf die on occasion and sometimes there are buzzards, and sometimes there are not. I am guessing that Mr. Bass is a gentleman farmer…we check cattle no less than every other day….and cube them during the cooler/cold months no less than every other day. I suspect that in Va., there is not the hay shortages we sometimes suffer, but at the least, he should have young cattle he checks…and rotates pasture.

We all know how “bad boys” have a side that likes good girls, and I am sure Morgan was a good girl. After reading the articles, the comments, the blogs, etc., I almost think that what/who we need to look at is maybe someone that wouldn’t have Morgan on his FB, that obviously has issues with self-esteem, anger and quite possibly drugs. I think she was on the outer fringe of his circle of friends, but not likewise. Someone that she befriended.

  6. Jettx says:

I have wondered about Blandemar Farm and the pond (tank, if you’re in Texas)…I keep looking at the aerials and the pond is very close and highly accessible. The other interesting items are the circular clearings near where she was found. These aren’t where the bark huts are, is it?

I have a question, to make sure I have things straight in my mind:

    1. In the predawn hours of 1/26 there is a fire at a Sutherland Road residence —
    2. Around 8:30 a.m. 1/26 Dr. Bass finds Morgan.
    3. Sometime after this another call is made and responded to for the Sutherland Road residence. More units from one department (NGVFD?)respond to this than to the early morning fire.

Am I correct on times and that there were more from NGVFD responding to 2nd call? Was NGVFD the only responding station or were there other departments? Sorry, 2-3 questions.

Also, I really don’t have anything to add regarding research, great work is being done here, but for the last couple of days I’ve been thinking about what Cooper said. Cooper if you remember was the retired law enforcement who first posted around the time Morgan’s body was found. Cooper said her first thought was that whoever had left the body where they did had done so probably because they wanted to be able to WATCH her. In other words, it isn’t solely about familiarity or proximity to the location, but about being able to go in and out at will, without fear, to check on things. She said when the body was found, THAT person was freaking out.

Someone knows exactly who did this and IS going to talk. It’s only a matter of time.

Thank you Blink & Olivia. You know Me and my family have felt the single drawing is made to represent Morgan since the moment I saw it, I dont think one could get much closer.
I did see something about a leg wound. Hate to say, but I think it had to do with bones. I will relook. I get so lost in all the pages as I sit with my mouth agape.
I also have run into a similiar name as Morgan in some ? verses. I dont want to believe it is that detailed. Alittle bit of jumbled stuff about November 11 also. I’m starting to think that is not a mistake, that date.
Yes, Olivia, that one girl/goddess or whoever, looks nothing like the other woman. Same thought exactly. I think the original scroll was worked on for a period of time. The other one, after they had her.

Anyway, Blink I have seen some really dark things here while researching, I was holding back as I didnt want everyone to think I am a nut. But I feel really sure about this.

Where do you see the reference to hermeticism? There certainly are quite a lot of elements which can be considered alchemical, but most of the painting actually depicts Middle and Far Eastern thought.

At some point in the Early Modern period, hermeticism was influenced by the cabbalah, and there were certainly earlier influences from the East, but I would not go so far to say that it absorbed Indian thought.

There were various attempts to do general comparative studies of world religions throughout the 20th century, and to come to a synthesis of all these religions, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be related to hermeticism.

The Hebrew words are – I believe – just excerpts from a book, there is no cabbalistic system behind them.

I would agree with you that the person who did this wanted to create a puzzle, and s/he may have believed it was hermetic, but this is as far as I would go. But I doubt there was any deeper knowledge involved.

The Indian material is not my field, and I can’t say anything about it. But I agree with Blink and some others that the seated women is not a drawing of an idealized person, it is a portrait.

Thank you Fish – I too feel silly and stupid writing what I do; however, I sometimes remember how the smallest gesture was of such significance to me and my family during those earliest years of intense grief. Sometimes it was just a brief note, a squeeze of the hand, or a look of understanding from someone who had walked the path before us. And today it’s still important and special when friends remember my brother’s birthday and death. He turned 19 on April 10th – was hit by the car on April 15th and the machines were turned off on April 17th. Witnesses described the hit&run “accident” as intentional (in that the driver sped up in order to hit my brother in broad daylight, sending him into the air and onto his head on the sidewalk before driving away). April is such a beautiful month especially in Virginia – and such a sad and difficult month for my family. We go a little crazy every April with the changing of the season. We look forward to spring during the dark lonely winter months – but then we regret that wish come April.

When I read your posts, Fish I feel like I’m vibrating on a similar frequency and I find such solace from knowing that you truly, truly understand the destruction that such a sudden and violent death can do to people and their family. You speak from the heart and I’ve gained confidence from reading your posts – to share what little I know of grief and the surviving sibling perspective. I do understand Alex best of all. And I do share your perspective of sometimes being forgotten. Fortunately my parents do remember all aspects of my brother and don’t put him on a pedestal inaccurately. But they do sometimes miss what is right in front of their faces with my daughters for their own grief.

I know this blog is about apprehending the bad guys – but I do appreciate the kindness shared by fellow humans as we move along the process.

Sending a cyber hug to you Fish and to all survivors of early, untimely, unnatural deaths of unfulfilled promising lives.

“Of all the events that transpired between Morgan and the person(s) responsible for this tragic incident, the person(s) responsible had complete control of deciding to choose the specific farm where Morgan was discovered” Lt. Joe Rader, VSP Media Release on Feb. 4, 2010

B, has Lt. Rader & VSP, UVA Police, Cville Police, Albemarle Police, and FBI, still believe that Anchorage Farm was specifically chosen or have they shifted gears since no one has been charged in Morgan’s tragic incident?

    and…

If this person(s) returned to AF, during “increased stress”, I wonder if he has been back to Anchorage Farm since Morgan was found?

    and…

Is there any way of knowing if he truly meant to dispose of her on Anchorage Farm or was it just because he drove in from the back of the property? I can’t help but think he/they knew property lines.

I’m with Mary on this one. I too, remember Cooper saying “He wanted to be able to watch her”, could this be way off or spot on.

(434)709-1685 Tip line for Anchorage Farm Property

B: Number still up and running for the locals???

They believe AF was not random, and the individuals responsible have a connection to the property, as in, the layout through some means. I still strongly believe that as well.

  16. anotherB says:

Both alchemical and hermetic texts and diagrams/paintings are extremely structured, it is all about system, symmetry and numbers. This picture is completely different – it is chaotic.

  17. Olivia says:

I had the same thought, that this particular piece (photo #14) for some reason is separate from the others: it was made by the same person but at a different time, I suspect. If you look at the picture of the two long pieces, you can see a corner of a third piece, and THAT is this one–you can see the rock on the corner. I agree that it is a “portrait” of a real person. I wondered about the saber she is holding and her huge forearm, and the possibility of it being a reference to strength against ignorance is reassuring. The artist would seem to have a sympathetic and respectful view of this woman. But the chunk out of the leg (leaf shape) and the various natural wispy, leafy, rootlike shapes are frightening because the visual and symbolic suggestion to me is that this woman is merging with the earth. Obviously, under ordinary circumstances this could be interpreted in a positive way but given the context of Morgan’s burial spot at AF it seems sinister. Also, her right arm disappears in the region of her reproductive organs and vagina–why? The small masculine goblinish face at the edge of her body near her hairy arm and sword is very unpleasant. Yes, the whole thing DOES resemble a kind of Barbie Goddess. Her lower leg has a face in it too, with a crown, like the Statue of Liberty’s head. I see gashes or tears in her clothing too. Any further thoughts? Does anyone know what JB looks like? What house is this room in? Who lived there in October 2009? Any further thoughts?

My thought is if that is indeed a depiction of Morgan, that the context is that she bore her own end.

    Strictly speculative on my part.

With all due respect, “not to get drunk at that party” and “not to go to that party” is pretty much one and the same to my ears, going to a party at 20yrs old and not getting drunk is like going to a restaurant and not eating……

I think there is a lot of activities and personalities that would attract Ms Harrington to AF, if it`s notoriety was known to her.

“Who cares? We`re here to see Metallica right?”

This has always had a hint of sarcasm to me…..

  19. mynamehere says:

I did mean malevolent, not benevolent :) oops.
    AnotherB,
With your knowledge of Alchemy, I am surprised you did not make note earlier of all of the references in this piece.

I made note I am only a layperson, and I gave my opinion as such.

Hermetic Alchemy is “The operation of the sun” which makes me believe that this is Hermetic Alchemy. As the Eye of Horus is an Egyption symbol, and Hermeticism stems from Egypt, I deduced Hermetic Alchemy.

I do agree the artist may be of another branch, not Hermetic. I did not say the individual was a member of the Hermetic order such as the Golden Dawn. They may be practicing alone for all we know. The alchemic symbols are thoughout the scrolls, that is indisputable.

AnotherB, while seeing the alchemic symbols throughout, and your having some knowledge of the traditions, what would make you dismiss it as insignificant? An Enigma is meant to be puzzling and we can really see so little of the piece that we cannot deduce much except what a small portion of the symbols, letters, and words are.

The single piece of the woman, I can’t see enough of it’s detail to say anything.

In regards to photo #14 and the face under the large arm, if you follow the larger circle that is connected to it back around, you can see that it is connected and being pulled from her body (womb?). Just an observation, don’t know what it means or if it is significant

  22. acho says:

Wow, everyone, I have a lot of learning to do. I do not see it, but I do see that you all have really examined it and found explanations for many of the symbols. Nice work.

The isolation of the drawing is of interest, for sure, as if it was done after the fact of the scroll. For what purpose?

For those of you who have some knowledge about this stuff, is the point of the scroll the act of doing it, or is it used in some ceremonial way? (or both?)

Where is Jenny right now, I wonder? Is she teaching her art classes as if all is well? Is she talking to LE?

BTW CrimeWriter, nice work! I would not have the first clue how to produce that …

TO: Dear dolce: My litte brother’s “death day” (I’d never heard that term until sometime after he died) was also April 17. Although he was not taken from us suddenly or by accident (but by the raging beast that is cancer), that day is a hard one each and every year for my family.

I share your pain, especially on that day.

TO: fish: Words escape me when trying to convey how heartfelt and touching your words are to Dan, Gil, and Alex. You are an amazing soul, fish; simply amazing.

RE: hunting: While I cannot speak to hunters and potential poaching on AF, I can offer this: I own remote, undeveloped property in Albemarle County and have had problems for years with hunters (among others) ignoring the posted signs. Evidence of their visits is often visible and is most frustrating.

RE: The purposefulness of AF on the part of Morgan’s BG: Like LE, B, and Cooper I believe that the location chosen by the BG was very intentional. This was not a random placement of Morgan’s body. To my mind, there is a clear connection to AF–although that connection is as yet unknown. This individual was very familiar with AF; all the hallmarks are there.

I agree with all others who say someone knows something. At this point in the investigation, though, I do not think it’s a matter of someone knowing something but not realizing they know it. [I ascribed to that theory earlier on but, with the passage of time, have since re-considered it.]

    Someone knows something.

    They are simply not telling.

Their motivation is uncertain; perhaps fear, as that’s a powerful motivator.

Whatever the reason, I grow increasingly concerned, on several counts.

MyNameHere- Thank you for your response.

AnotherB, Blink -and all who are lending their minds to the purpose of what the scrolls mean: Thank you.

Unfortunately, I do not think we will know the real truth behind this work- we are not in the mind of the artist/s- So I believe all points and opinions on this “work” are quite useful and needed

But- I will give my overall “feeling” on this work, FWIW, I am uncomfortable to say the least, with some of the thoughts and beliefs I have heard interpreted here, and elsewhere, regarding some of the symbols and other-on this scroll.

After your post, MNH, I tried to research things including Hermeticism-

I found this interesting passage regarding what could bring about a “curse”–

    “Morality, good, and evil

Hermes explains in Book 9 of the Corpus Hermeticum that Nous brings forth both good and evil, depending on if he receives input from God or from the demons. God brings good, while the demons bring evil. Among those things brought by demons are:

“adultery, murder, violence to one’s father, sacrilege, ungodliness, strangling, suicide from a cliff and all such other demonic actions”[42].

This provides a clearcut view that Hermeticism does indeed include a sense of morality. However, the word good is used very strictly, to be restricted to use to the Supreme Good, God[43]. It is only God (in the sense of the Supreme Good, not The All) who is completely free of evil to be considered good. Men are exempt of having the chance of being good, for they have a body, consumed in the physical nature, ignorant of the Supreme Good[44].

Among those things which are considered extremely sinful, is the focus on the material life, said to be the only thing that offends God:

“As processions passing in the road cannot achieve anything themselves yet still obstruct others, so these men merely process through the universe, led by the pleasures of the body”[45].

It is troublesome to oneself to have no “children”. This is a symbolic description, not to mean physical, biological children, but rather creations. Immediately before this claim, it is explained that God is “the Father” because it has authored all things, it creates. Whether father or mother, one must create, do something positive in their life, as the Supreme Good is a “generative power”. The curse for not having “children” is to be imprisoned to a body, neither male (active) nor female (thoughtful), leaving that person with a type of sterility, that of being unable to accomplish anything[46].

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermeticism

The more I research, the more uncomfortable I become as I see the ease with which some of these beliefs could lead to an unstable person becoming even more unstable and immersed in the otherworldly not necessarily spiritually, and not in the here and now.

  25. alexandra says:

Fish- Happy Birthday! You always convey so much emotion and love in your posts- I hope Gil and The Harrington’s read them and gained some solace.

Dolce, thank you for sharing, I am so sorry for your loss.

Liam, I agree with you – I believe AF and its people would be extremely interesting to Morgan-

Blink, I too at first, didn’t think the scroll meant much to the mystery but have since began to wonder-

I think the scrolls are very purposefully done, if chaotic, I believe this is due to the fact that the artist/s seem to be intermixing the “three parts of the universe” and incorporating these with other beliefs as well, sort of -personalizing- it, for lack of a better word. JMO

    Taken from link provided earlier-

“The three parts of the wisdom of the whole universe

Alchemy—The Operation of the Sun—is not simply the changing of physical lead into physical gold[33]. It is an investigation into the spiritual constitution, or life of matter and material existence through an application of the mysteries of birth, death and resurrection[34]. The various stages of chemical distillation and fermentation, among them, are aspects of these mysteries, that, when applied quicken Nature’s processes in order to bring a natural body to perfection[35]. This perfection is the accomplishment of the Magnum opus (Latin for Great Work).

Astrology—The Operation of the Moon: Hermes claims that Zoroaster discovered this part of the wisdom of the whole universe, astrology, and taught it to man[36]. In Hermetic thought, it is likely that the movements of the planets have meaning beyond the laws of physics and actually holding metaphorical value as symbols in the mind of The All, or God. Astrology has influences upon the Earth, but does not dictate our actions, and wisdom is gained when we know what these influences are and how to deal with them.

Theurgy—The Operation of the Stars: There are two different types of magic, according to Giovanni Pico della Mirandola’s Apology, completely opposite of each other. The first is γοητεια, Goëtia, black magic reliant upon an alliance with evil spirits (i.e. demons). The second is Theurgy, divine magic reliant upon an alliance with divine spirits (i.e. angels, archangels, gods)[37].

Theurgy translates to “The Science or art of Divine Works” and is the practical aspect of the Hermetic art of alchemy[38]. Furthermore, alchemy is seen as the “key” to theurgy,[39] the ultimate goal of which is to become united with higher counterparts, leading to the attainment of Divine Consciousness[38].”

  27. Olivia says:

Chunk out of leg: Ganesha has the head of an elephant, which symbolizes sagacity and wisdom. The most common account of Ganesha’s birth is that while Parvati (Goddess of beauty and sweetness, symbolizing marital harmony, Shiva’s consort) was washing herself, she took some dirt and unguent from her leg to form a model of a man.

    http://www.purpleonion.nl/background/hinduism;jsessionid=71AAE52DAAFD04FFCE9AF127ACA87957

I was interested in the possible symbolism of a LACK of one hand in the photo-portrait (#14) so I did a little internet searching and found almost nothing—except this:

Kali: Mother Goddess form, extremely fierce, ferocious form of the mother goddess. Her girdle of severed human hands signifies work and liberation from the cycle of karma. Her sword is the destroyer of false consciousness and the eight bonds that bind us. Kali’s proximity to cremation grounds where the five elements or “Pancha Mahabhuta” come together, and all worldly attachments are absolved, again point to the cycle of birth and death.

    http://hinduism.about.com/od/hindugoddesses/a/makali.htm

She wears a girdle of severed human hands- hands that are the principal instruments of work and so signify the action of karma. Thus the binding effects of this karma have been overcome, severed, as it were, by devotion to Kali. She has blessed the devotee by cutting him free from the cycle of karma.

    http://www.exoticindiaart.com/kali.htm

The disappearance of her hand into her reproductive organs could signify that she is “free” from the possibility of childbirth or reproduction. Free from the karmic cycle as well?

Great Research, Olivia. I daresay the Kali thing is not working for me, every image of her is standing, and the arms are hanging from her”girdle”. I think you had it right the first time, although I have no idea what it means.

O/T (sort of) to Dolce and dear Fish:

I am so focused on the bits and pieces of this nightmare, and I apologize that I rarely take time for warmth and kindness — please know my heart is with you in your ongoing grief, as it is with the Harringtons and all other families who are enduring such horrible losses.

I keep thinking of Gil Harrington today and wishing I could put her in touch with a 21-years-bereaved mom (whose son’s killing is unresolved). That mom still has visible sadness and terrible days, but I believe she’s done well at finally accepting joy. I believe being around children was a big help to her. But it has to be a different course for everyone, and I feel so strongly that eventually, somehow, all the good Gil does for others will not only sustain her, but also teach her how to accept moments of happiness. I cannot fathom the dark road to get there and I wish, as you all do, there was something I could do to shine light on her, Dan’s, and Alex’s path.

Okay, sorry to be so wordy tonight but just one more thing–hands are the hardest part of the human body to draw well, and the artist may have left them out for that reason, very common in art student work. Maybe mustn’t make too much out of the hands or lack thereof.

Blink- found this reference to a woman with a wound on her leg- not sure if it means anything –

    Celtic Myths

The Celts believed that the goddess Eostre’s favourite animal and attendant spirit was the hare. It represented love, fertility and growth and was associated with the Moon, dawn and Easter – death, redemption and resurrection. Eostre changed into a hare at the full Moon. The hare was sacred to the White Goddess – the Earth Mother – and as such was considered to be a royal animal. Boudicca was said to have released a hare as a good omen before each battle and to divine the outcome of battle by the hare’s movements. She took a hare into battle with her to ensure victory and it was said to have screamed like a woman from beneath her cloak.

The Celtic warrior Oisin hunted a hare and wounded it in the leg, forcing it to seek refuge in a clump of bushes. When Oisin followed it he found a door leading into the ground and he eventually emerged into a huge hall where he found a beautiful young woman sitting on a throne bleeding from a wound in her leg. The transmigration of the soul is clearly seen in Celtic lore such as this.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A2418536

Does the Celtic thing fit the rest? I guess one needs to asess that none of it fits anything in particular, and it is simply the artists creation.

Thank you for those who support the idea of a memory quilt for the Harrington family!

If you are interested in helping with the quilt, I have set up a seperate email acct and am setting up a group with yahoo so we can all chat/discuss how we want to do this. The group is private and by invitation only. I am still in the process of getting the group account set-up so be patient with me please :) You can send me an email to justiceforkids@ymail.com. Please identify yourself by your user name here. If you want to create a throw-away email address, no problem, but I think you’ll have to keep it up to be able to post in the group until the project is done.

The girl with her legs crossed in #14 is the only one shown with her own panel. Was it sketched at a later date? All the rest are part of longer scrolls with all the 1960s nonsense. Also the drawing in #14 seems to be by a different artist than the one who sketched the seated girl in #13.

I guess I am missing something here. The “invite” to the sleep over was issued prior to Morgan’s abduction and actually happened after. Something like 10 people said they could make it. 700 acres is a huge amount of space and it is my understanding that the houses at AF are nowhere near where Morgan’s remains were found. The pictures look totally normal to me. Like pictures every amateur photographer “tourist” takes when confronted by a beautiful landscape. I can’t see a thing in them and it is my understanding that MH’s remains would not have been skeletal at that point anyway. Yes, JB is tragically hip. A misunderstood artist who enjoys quoting Bukowski or whoever is the pseudo intellectual of the day. But witchcraft? Huh? Because she likes to build shelters and tan hides? And why isn’t the “roll o’ art” being taken at face value? With some interesting “history” regarding the art thrown in for good measure? And the fire. The fire happened before Morgan was found. Mr. Bass was tipped off? What, at the corner market while purchasing a part for his tractor he overheard a diabolical plot to burn down a house where a horrible crime had occurred? And he didn’t contact the police after hearing the conversation? Or getting a mysterious phone call telling him to go inspect the North 40 in case there was something “interesting” to be seen? Good grief.

    Not much for research, Huh?

Blink I’d say no if she were only Celtic but she is not.

I did further research Blink, and I am beginning to think Sherlock wasn’t to far off in the importance of the moon.

“Eostre, was from the celts but she is the Teutonic lunar Goddess, Eostre. Her chief symbols were the bunny (for fertility and because the those who worshipped her often saw the image of a rabbit in the full moon), she is also the Goddess of fertility and new beginnings.”

“In the Pagan Wheel of the Year, this is the time when the great Mother Goddess, again a virgin at Candlemas, welcomes the young Sun God unto her and conceives a child of this divine union. The child will be born nine months later, at Yule, the Winter Solstice.”

Animals associated with Ostara are rabbits and snakes. Mythical beasts associated with Ostara include unicorns, merpeople, and pegasus. Plants and herbs associated with Ostara are crocus flowers, daffodils, jasmine, Irish moss, snowdrops, and ginger.”

    http://thunder.prohosting.com/~cbarstow/ostara.html

“ostara’s worship, noted the etymological connection between ‘Eostre’ and ‘Ostara’, and listed various traditions. Amongst these were the Ostern Hare, Ostara eggs, the Ostara sword, hilltop ceremonies at dawn, and other examples of traditions he believed to be derived from the past worship of Ostara.”

    http://www.new-age-guide.com/new_age/eostre.html

“One legend says that Eostre found a wounded bird in the snow. Wanting to help she transformed it into a hare so that he could survive the winter. In the spring the hare laid a clutch of eggs, showing that it was still a bird at heart. The hare left these eggs as gift for Eostre. Some believe this tale is the origin of Easter eggs and the Easter bunny.”

There is something very funny going on here and I don’t think it’s all coincidence either.

    1) The pics. These are the ONLY personal pics I know of to be found anywhere of AF, are taken days after Morgan goes missing and appears to be in the area in which she was found.

    2) #14 drawing. In addition to everything already discussed the meanings, I find it extremely odd that it is in the same upload as the AF pics and the woman drawn resembles Morgan so much (did you all notice the necklace?).

    3) Still taken back by the change in info that it was a LAX player who turned Morgan’s purse in.

“She is the Goddess of fertility and new beginnings. The Teutonic lunar Goddess. Her chief symbols were the bunny (for fertility and because the Ancient Ones who worshipped her often saw the image of a rabbit in the full moon)”

“Pagan customs such as the lighting of new fires at dawn for cure, renewed life, and protection of the crops still survive in the Southern Americas as well as in Europe. Witches celebrate Ostara in many ways …….lighting fires at sunrise, ringing bells, and decorating hard-boiled eggs which is an ancient Pagan custom associated with the Goddess of Fertility.”

“Animals associated with Ostara are rabbits and snakes. Mythical beasts associated with Ostara include unicorns, merpeople, and pegasus. Plants and herbs associated with Ostara are crocus flowers, daffodils, jasmine, Irish moss, snowdrops, and ginger”

“ostre found a wounded bird in the snow. To help the little bird survive the winter, she transformed it into a rabbit, but the transformation was incomplete and the rabbit retained the ability to lay eggs. In thanks for its life being saved, the rabbit took the eggs and decorated them and left them as gifts for Eostre. Again, she was delighted and wanted all to share her joy, so the tradition continued.”

The Morrigu / Morrigan / Morgaine / Morganna (Irish, British)
Celtic Goddess of Water and Magic. Supreme War Goddess, Shape-shifter. Reigned over the battlefields, helping with her magic but did not join in the battles. She is the Crone aspect of the Goddess. Great Mother; Moon Goddess; Queen of the fairies. In her dark aspect, her symbol is then the raven or crow. She is the Goddess of war, fate, death; she went fully armed & carried two spears. Goddess of rivers, lakes & fresh water. Patroness of priestesses & witches. Revenge, night, magic, prophecy. A Triple Goddess made of three largely autonomous Goddesses. Their names vary, but they are usually called Macha, Badb and Nemain. Morgan was said to be married to Merlin, and it was from him she learned her magic. She was also doubled with The Lady of the Lake.

What might you all think of this: I noticed a ladder on the roof. Once I saw it, it didnt seem to be a functional ladder, in that location. For fun I googled ladder and things.

    Jacob’s Ladder:
In Genesis 28, we find Jacob resting for the night while journeying from Beersheba to Haran. While asleep, he dreamt of a stairway (or ladder) resting on the earth with its top reaching to heaven, and upon this stairway angels were ascending and descending. At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and He spoke to Jacob, promising to him the very land he was sleeping on, and also that his descendents would multiply throughout the earth and be a blessing to the nations. It’s a famous event, one in which God’s promise of blessing was to have generational ramifications.
Unfortunately, the story of Jacob’s dream meeting with God has been allegorized and symbolized by the occult. In the occult interpretation, Jacob’s ladder represents mankind’s motivating force to ascend to a higher state of consciousness. It also represents the step-by-step realization of divine truth, and the advancement of man’s spiritual path towards divine enlightenment.
The case of Jacob’s ladder is a prime example of the clash that occurs between Christian truth and occult allegory. Sadly, Biblical events and stories have been twisted by occultists for centuries, offering interpretations that seek to keep man in the bondage of Satan’s lies. Often this lie is nothing more than the same one given by the serpent in Genesis chapter three; “you will be like God…”

Just doing some more fb sleuthing after the hockey game…O/T…Let’s Go Flyers!

JC was employed as a “general contractor” at Miller Construction, and has since removed that as his employer.

He is fb friends with a Michele Snead, don’t know if she is related to SS or cop RS.

As of Feb 13, ’09, he was in a relationship with Kate N. From his profile info, he states he “misses Kate”, and they are not fb friends, so that relationship must have ended sometime in ’09. If you were at all able to see pics of he and Kate, her eyes and face shape resemble Morgan’s, except K has red hair. I’m thinking the sketch of the girl with the gash in her leg may be of K. JC’s appearance took a dramatic turn to “Grizzly Adams”-like during the summer of ’09, it seems, if you follow the pics of him. Relatives mention his appearance and “mean” eyes (his mom even said it). Isn’t drastic change in appearance something to look for when someone has done something they feel bad about?

We may be way off base here, but until Morgan’s killer is behind bars, let no stone unturned, we must persevere for her and her family.

    January 29, 2010

Virginia State Police are receiving numerous tips and leads in the investigation into 20-year-old Morgan Harrington’s death.

As investigators await word on the time and cause of death, we’re getting a closer look at the location where a farmer discovered her remains.

People who live near Anchorage Farm say trespassing around their property is a serious issue–an issue law enforcement has been aware of in parts of rural Albemarle County.

Up a private gravel road and through acres of Blandemar Farmland, we were escorted towards the Anchorage Farm property line. Across large pine trees is where Morgan Harrington’s remains were found on Tuesday, January 26th.

Even though signs on the gates say “Private” we’re learning that Waldemar Drive is a common spot for trespassers to go, and it’s a way to access the back of Anchorage Farm.

Albemarle County law enforcement are aware of problems with trespassing in the rural parts of the county.

Posted by: I Know Location: Charlottesville on Jan 30, 2010 at 09:47 AM

I cannot believe anyone with supposed law enforcement experience would automatically assume that Morgan was killed by a poacher because of where she was found. Geo caching is done all over this area, and a lot of the people that do it trespass to get to the hidden locations. Why is Sgt. G accusing them or investigating them? If the people in this area expect more and better police protection then thy need to produce the funds for it, not make more cut backs. Like it or not law enforcement should be a priority to fund, or quit fussing and protect your own family and property.

    Yep.
