On what is Kyron Horman’s 8th Birthday, the Skyline School, where Kyron was scheduled to begin the third grade, is buzzing with the start of the years activities without him.

< ?xml:namespace prefix ="" o />

In response to the disappearance and presumed abduction of the bespectacled herpetologist; Skyline has implemented a myriad of mandatory safety features as well as a state of the art security camera system. While complete with facial recognition capability, one face it will not be recognizing today, is that of Kyron Horman.

Although missing since the morning of June 4, 2010, there have been no updates from the many State and Federal agencies participating in the criminal investigation of his disappearance since August 12, 2010.

Adding to the mounting concern about the status of Kyron’s fate are the words of his own parents, Kaine Horman and Desiree Young.

“The police will not stop until they find Kyron and the harder they have to search–the harder this will get for you,” wrote Young. “You will go to jail and whoever has been helping you will have to talk police or they will go to jail.”

It is clear from Kaine and Desiree’s comments that they believe Terri Horman, Kyron’s step mom, is at least partially responsible for Kyron vanishing. While they stop short of naming any possible accomplices, Rod Underhill, the chief deputy district attorney of Multnomah County, Captain Jason Gates, Detective Bob O’Donnell of the Multnomah County Sheriff Office have sought the publics help to flush them out. Multnomah County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rod Underhill said a witness, or witnesses, have reported seeing someone else by the Hormans’ extended-cab pickup while it was parked in front of the school between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on June 4, the day Kyron disappeared. In what was characterized as a slip-up, methinks that that Kyron’s Mom told us that someone was actually Kyron.

While Terri Horman is holed up at her parents newly refinanced home in Roseburg and under the mortgage-sized retainer protection of Stephen Houze; she is awaiting the September 21st contempt hearing  for allegedly violating an order that she not disclose the “sealed” reasoning for, or contents of,  the current restraining order in effect against her.

Accomplice, Witness, Opportunist or Collateral Damage?

Rodolfo “Rudy” Estrada Sanchez

Sanchez 1

Rudy is the owner of RS Landscape Maintenance and the alleged former landscaper/ love interest of Terri Horman.  He is also the man who says Terri Horman asked him to murder her husband Kaine late last year. Investigators clearly believed his story as it was the basis for an attempted sting on June 26th by MCSO including an undercover DEA agent. Sanchez, wearing a wire, demanded a $10,000 payment from Horman for services rendered, except Kaine was very much alive. As the information gleaned from Sanchez provided to Kaine Horman indicates this alleged “contract”discussion with his wife happened over 7 months ago, it is unclear what the payment demand could actually be for. Sanchez testified before the grand jury on August 4. While the content of his testimony is secret, the fact that whatever he testified to outside of pleading the “On the advice of counsel I plead the 5th and hereby assert all of it’s protections.” grants him a level of immunity, in addition to whatever he may or may not have already been granted by the District Attorney.

When reached at one of the numbers records show is billed in his brothers name, Jaime Estrada Sanchez, who uses the name Jaime Estrada on his carpet cleaning business website declined to comment to blinkoncrime.com and the number has since been disconnected.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a close family friend who has since been interviewed by the FBI, has confirmed that Terri Horman is pointing her finger directly at Sanchez. She has also stated that she and Sanchez had an altercation after she attempted to end their relationship in May which ended in a 911 call and a visit from Clackamas County Sheriff Office in the presence of Sanchez’s wife and children. While it did not result in any charges, Horman told the source that the landscaper was furious with her because he is not in the US legally. While blinkoncrime.com has not been able to verify the date of the alleged 911 call, we have been able to verify that Terri called her Mother immediately following the incident and told her that Kaine had found out about the landscaper she hired to do what she referred to as “her yardwork” and when she informed him that she could no longer use him because Kaine was making her fire him, he lunged at her with Kiara in her arms. Kaine Horman denies the couple ever hired the landscaper as well as any previous information as to his estranged wife’s possible dealings with Sanchez.

It should be noted that Mr. Sanchez has not been charged with any crime in this matter and local references to his business are highly complimentary. In fact, Jean Ann Van Krevelen a friend and “mentor” of Dede Spicher has used RS Landscape Maintenance on a few occasions, leaving positive reviews on the ServiceMaster listing which deleted his business from the site on 6/21/10.  Heather Walters, owner of Rosemont Farm, which is not West Wind Farm, where Dede Spicher was working the morning of June 4th and out of reach by phone from approximately 90 minutes, has never met Terri Horman or heard of their family prior to Kyron’s disappearance. When I asked her if she knew Rudy Sanchez or if she ever hired his firm to work at WWF, she replied “not that I recall, no, but we did have a blackberry clean up a few years ago so it is possible.”

Anselmo Sanchez-Sanchez

Anselmoor

As reported on blinkoncrime.com, Anselmo was booked into the MCSO on July 8, 2010 on a hold from the US Marshall Service. He was held until August () and returned to Federal custody in Sheridan. While residence records and a private post to blinkoncrime.com indicate the Sanchez’s know each other, at a minimum, it is unknown if Anselmo has any direct connection to this case. What is known, is that Anselmo Sanchez a/k/a Freddy Atristad Sanchez has been in Federal Custody since March 4, 2010.

 Or has he?

Although records indicate that he was placed under post probation supervision by ICE on February 19, 2010, according to Mr. Sanchez-Sanchez Federal criminal docket after being “found in the US and apprehended” in  August 2009” following a previous deportation in 2003, he was “administratively arrested” on February 23, 2010. A Federal Grand Jury’s subsequent indictment was issued on March 4 and he was immediately incarcerated.

Mr. Sanchez-Sanchez rap sheet includes convictions for rape, failure to register as a sex offender and a host of probation and parole violations prior to his deportation.

In what can only be categorized as a bizarre coincidence, Oregon BOP VINE network shows that on June 26, 2010, they very day of the “sting” involving Rudy Sanchez, Anselmo was transferred and released to “community supervision”.  There is no record of either his transfer or his booking by MCSO July 8th on his docket. What is reflected on the record for June 21st, is the US Marshall Service requested a rescheduling of his plea hearing on July 1st   - July 12th directly with the presiding judge outside of his Federal appointed defense attorney.  Yep. Exparte.  Mr. Sanchez attorney Allison Clark used the 7/12/10 court date to file a motion to quit the case.  They have subsequently worked through their differences and were scheduled to appear yesterday, but a 4th continuance in the case was granted to reschedule for October 7, 2010. In that motion, Ms. Clark asserts that Mr. Sanchez has been in custody the entire time but that his records are difficult to retrieve so more time to prepare for trial is necessary.  I’ll say.

Dede Spicher

Dede

Doppelganger. Organic Gardner. Jilted girlfriend and support network for Terri Horman.

Up until a few weeks ago, she was also very much the object of accusation by Desiree Young and Kaine Horman, as well as the investigators assigned to Kyron’s case. So much so, they released a flyer featuring the ginger ladies and the infamous white truck. LE has subsequently backed off of Spicher and publicly stated they do not believe it was her in the white truck in the lot of the Skyline School. Dede’s father is a semi-retired Klamath County Sheriff deputy. If it can be confirmed Spicher knew Kyron was missing on June 4th we have a very big problem.

Blinkoncrime.com is in receipt of a private post through a mutual friend of Dede’s in response to an article about Kyron’s disappearance from the school which was post on June 4th at 11:40PM

Spicher responded on June 5 at 7:44am: Holy Crap! I KNOW this boy!

Mutual Friend, June 5, 1:35PM: no way???!!! Really Dede?

Spicher: yes. My friend Terri is the step-mother mentioned in the article. It’s so shocking when something like this hits so close to home. < ?xml:namespace prefix ="" v />June 5 at 5:44pm

Michael Cook

MichaelCook

The source of both information for the contempt filing and hundreds of sexts exchanged between he and Terri Horman following Kaine Horman’s filing for divorce and leaving the marital residence as advised by MCSO, Michael Cook was a high school classmate of Kaine Horman.

Mr. Cook is also one smarmy dude if his former spouse Shannon has anything to say about it.

Oddly, blinkoncrime.com has learned from an inside source that Cook was not called before the grand jury to testify. In the instant action for contempt, Kaine Horman’s attorney Laura Rackner specifically references the “sexting” and the text regarding Houze’s fee as information provided by law enforcement.

So, was he acting as an agent for le or is he himself under investigation?

Jason Wishert

Jasonwishert

William Jason Wishert is undoubtedly wishing he had not interjected himself in this case. Apparently new to the blogosphere via a request from Maxine Bernstein of the Oregonian, Mr. Wishert took to what he saw as his *nuveau*cause*celeb* status with moxy.

That was until he announced his appearance on the scaredmonkeys.net forum to answer questions about the case and cry the blues when he accused the Oregonian of using his rough notes to skewer Dede Spicher.  According to Wishert the “not a lot of kissing but plenty of telling” memo was not supposed to be published.  About 3 minutes into his introduction to his “sleuthing public” Wishert was asked why he spelled his name incorrectly and if he was indeed the son of convicted child porn possessor William Kent Wishart.  In a really bad move, Mr. Wishert denied the allegation and retreated with his tail somewhere on his person.

Kent Wishart, former CEO of Graphic Sciences, is in Federal Custody for the next 4 years for possession of child porn and engaging in a file sharing subscription for same. Jason’s brother Grant is an employee of GS.  All three Wishert’s hold numerous active and inactive business licenses throughout Oregon and Washington.  Graphic Sciences has a Mexican affiliate office.

Both Jason and his brother James Grant have had numerous legal entanglements (editor’s note: say it just like Chief Margie with the flat “a”) and our attempts to substantiate Jason’s claims about court appointed child advocacy certifications have yet to be confirmed.

However, with his Uncle John Kerr, Jason Wishert is heavily involved in the Friends of Pimpollo Charity which sponsors various children issues and an orphanage in Mexico.  FOP is a verified charity with a 50% tax deduction rate according to IRS Publication 78 in good standing, but they are years behind in their annual reporting.

Birthday Boy and America’s Frog Prince

Today, Kyron Horman’s eigth birthday, may not bring us any closer to where our frog prince is, but we do wish to extend our thoughts and prayers in celebration of his special day to his parents, friends and family. There are 2 celebrations for Kyron today. The picture below is an image of the birthday invitation chosen by his Mom, Desiree Young, and designed by scaredmonkeys poster Brandi.

Could RS & Assoc be an organized criminal group such as Mexican drug cartel ?
    - OR- be in/ or a ‘criminal street gang’ ?

I found this report from Oregon DOJ on Organized Crime in Oregon (August 2006) an interesting read.
Here are some portions that jumped out @ me:
[Oregon DOJ is 1 of 11 +agencies involved in KH case]

A drug trafficking organization is one that consists of five or more persons, has a clearly defined hierarchy, and operates primarily to generate income or acquire assets through a continuing series of illegal drug trafficking activities. Drug trafficking refers to manufacturing, transportation, or distribution.

Organized crime groups are insular in nature. The leaders of these organizations know that law enforcement agencies may seek to penetrate the enterprise as a means of collecting information to assist in the investigation of the organization’s illegal activities. Therefore, such organizations often take the form of groups or cells of friends, associates, and family members who trust one another because they have common geographic origins, ethnic backgrounds, language, or beliefs.

The identification of a drug trafficking organization or other organized crime group is based upon one or more factors – the source of the drugs trafficked; the geographic reach of the organization; the location of the individual(s) who receive and control the proceeds of the organization’s activities; or the race, national origin, or group membership (as in outlaw motorcycle gangs) of the individuals who direct and control the organization.

For instance, the term “Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization”(DTO) may refer to a drug trafficking organization engaged in the international distribution of drugs from Mexico; that is led by individuals born in Mexico or who are based in Mexico and whose members are of Mexican descent; or that is one in which drug trafficking proceeds are directed to individuals who are located in Mexico.

The characteristics of a particular organized crime group have practical investigative consequences. The strategy to combat a “Mexican DTO” is different from the strategy to combat a home-grown organization because the former has an international base of supply and production, and U.S. law enforcement agencies have little or no enforcement authority in a foreign country.

Drug trafficking organizations operated by identified criminal enterprises supply a large amount of the illegal narcotics now available in the state. These organizations are heavily involved in distributing methamphetamine and marijuana which currently represent the most serious drug threats in Oregon. Recent law changes restricting the availability of pseudoephedrine may be contributing to increased trafficking of precursor ingredients and methamphetamine by these organizations. Large-scale outdoor marijuana grow operations have also been discovered in the state, and a number have been found on public forest lands. These operations, controlled by Mexican drug trafficking organizations, have been steadily increasing in size and numbers and now produce tens of thousands of plants each year.

More than half of the documented DTOs are led by Caucasian groups whose operations appear to be based in Oregon. The majority of the remainder are lead by individuals of Mexican descent. Frequently, Mexican DTOs also have interstate and international connections to production facilities in Mexico.

DTOs are often involved in the production and transport of a number of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, MDMA, GHB, LSD, PCP, ketamine, and psilocybin mushrooms.

As new technology has become increasingly affordable, street gangs have expanded their range of illegal activities to include the production of counterfeit checks and currency and Internet-based identify theft.

Gang members now also access public records on the Internet to track court proceedings and develop intelligence on witnesses for purposes of intimidation.
[Is this why the GJ Judge issued a NO A/V of witnesses?]

Major concentrations of street gangs can be found in Portland and the surrounding metro areas of Gresham, Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Troutdale.
Street gangs can also be found throughout the state in cities such as
    Salem, Eugene, and Woodburn,
and as far east as Pendleton and Ontario.

@Annie: Thanks for the catch regarding birthdates and the noting that they are probably different people.

The Ubaldo rapist is closer in age to Elsy Mejia-Sanchez. That would put the young Ubaldo who was kidnapped as a conjugal visit baby perhaps (given the incarceration in 2008) but one never knows. I would more likely believe Ubaldo on the highway was married to Maria G Sanchez.

My feelings after watching that press:
they have evidence leading them to Portland
they have evidence Kyron was being abused by the stepmom leading up to his dissapearance or she was having some guy over during the day that was participating in abusing him
I think of Kyron begging his mom to stay in Medford, he was being abused and told to keep his mouth shut or else…
I always hold out hope but I think the mood in that conference set the tone for whats coming – extremely somber these are the people on the frontlines
I think they have collected all the evidence they can and now they have a direction to find him and that day is coming.
I know very dark feelings i have about this, but as an outsider and a peaceful person I’m sure there is more evil to come out that we could never even think up.

Interesting that the street gangs are listed in the areas that we have been looking at here? (Hillsoboro, woodburn, beaverton, and now troutdale and gresham?)

To All: Before you waste time trying to relate Ky to areas in the east portion of Multnomah county, remember that Staton said he wants to use detectives who’re already working on this case. Multnomah East Major Crimes unit is one of those. It would probably include detectives from cities such as Troutdale. So, that would be worth confirming.

But I remember that there was a long list of Oregon LE agencies who had dedicated personnel to the case. So, Staton’s current requests may or may not indicate a direct relationship to Ky.

If Rudy’s wife knew of the affair in May, could she have possibly been at the school on 06/04? Kyrons disappearance seems to involve organized crime. If it is so “organized” then why take him from SCHOOL, why not the backyard, street, etc. Kyron aside, didn’t this go National, grabbing so many peoples attention, because of the school setting? Also, if Rudy’s wife knew in May, why didn’t she contact Kaine? Misery usually loves company.

In my opinion, the task force is being formed due to budgetary constraints. That and the fact that the majority of the leads in this case have been satisfactorily dealt with (rulled in or out). I don’t believe that Gresham, Troutdale and Fairview necessarily have anything to do with Kyron’s disappearance. Here is an example of a task force that was recently implemented in my community and surrounding cities. Obviously the first 48 has come and gone many times over in the Kyron case, but Sherrif Staton mentions budget/money over-and-over again in his 30 plus minute conference.

Looks like he hasn’t seen his name in the bright lights lately so needs to interject himself so we don’t forget him. He doesn’t realize that I only wish I could forget him.

My opinion of him is that he is a lonely, sad, borderline degenerate who feeds his sorry ego with the attention he has received from his self-proclaimed importance about the disappearance of Kyron Hormon.

He has shown himself to be selfish, intolerant, unrealistic and disloyal. I believe Seamus hit the nail on the head in his analysis of Jason Whatever, only I believe the sexual problems in his relationship with DeDe S are rooted in him. IMHO

Partly because if they have evidence of truly heinous things happening to the children in that house (which is the direction my mind is leaning toward), then why has there been no arrest?

Or are they sitting on everything in order to secure a conviction for the ultimate crime?

People laugh that my husband and I have never been out alone in the 2.5 years we’ve been parents, but cases like this make we never want to let them out of my sight!!

    Here is snippets of:
“Oregon High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area”
    Drug Market Analysis 2009

Drugs may be the thread that connects some of the ‘dots’ when you see how FBI,DEA, Port of Portland Police etc are involved. This report has maps etc.

I had no idea of the extent of Drug Trafficking here (Oregon/ Portland area).

If this ‘is’ the ‘type’ of vampire(s) she let in…OMG.

The Oregon HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) region encompasses eight Oregon counties—Clackamas, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Marion, Multnomah, Umatilla, and Washington.

Major transportation routes that facilitate the distribution of licit and illicit goods from domestic and foreign source areas transit each of these counties.
Interstate 5 offers a direct north-south route from Canada to Mexico and traverses six of the eight HIDTA counties (Clackamas, Douglas, Jackson, Marion, Multnomah, and Washington).

Interstate 84 crosses the state in an east-west direction, connecting the HIDTA counties of Multnomah and Umatilla to drug markets in other states, particularly Idaho. U.S. Highway 97, a north-south route from the U.S.–Canada border to northern California, crosses the state in Deschutes County and is a favored alternative route for drug traffickers attempting to avoid law enforcement scrutiny on I-5.

In addition to these roadways, drug traffickers use the state’s airways, railways, seaports, and waterways to transport drugs to and through the HIDTA region.

Mexican DTOs and criminal groups are the dominant illicit drug producers, transporters, and wholesale distributors in the HIDTA region. Their influence in the area is unrivaled and presents law enforcement with numerous challenges. Members of Mexican DTOs and criminal groups, which tend to be insular and family-based, easily blend with the region’s sizable Hispanic population.

Drug trafficking organizations are complex organizations with highly defined command- and-control structures that produce, transport, and/or distribute large quantities of one or more illicit drugs.

Criminal groups operating in the United States are numerous and range from small to moderately sized, loosely knit groups that distribute one or more drugs at the retail level and midlevel.

Some Mexican DTOs operating in Washington County are planting cannabis seeds that mature more quickly, enabling growers to plant and harvest marijuana crops every 90 days. (By comparison, it takes 5 to 6 months for ordinary cannabis plants to grow outdoors.) The Oregon HIDTA reports that the switch to faster-growing seeds is an attempt by cultivators to gain additional harvests each year and thus increase their profits.

Mexican DTOs are the primary transporters of illicit drugs to the Portland area. Powder cocaine, marijuana, ice methamphetamine, and heroin are transported to the area from Mexico and California along the I-5 corridor.

These organizations typically transport the drugs in private vehicles or tractor-trailers.
Various illicit drugs are smuggled through the Portland International Airport, the Port of Portland, and numerous small ports and docks along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, but on a much smaller scale.

Some DTOs and criminal groups operating in the HIDTA region also use maritime and air cargo to transport illicit drugs to the region, according to law enforcement reporting. However, the extent to which such conveyances are used by traffickers is relatively unknown because of the inherent difficulty that law enforcement officials experience in inspecting the large volume of maritime and air cargo that passes through seaports and airports in Oregon.

For instance, the Port of Portland alone handled approximately 14, 415,537 short tons of cargo and approximately 245,459 containers12 during 2008, while roughly 234,668 short tons of freight passed though the Portland International Airport; more than 14 million passengers also transited the airport in 2008.

Kozy, I personally am not upset in the least. I know how hard it is to catch up. I’m working on the Blink quotes from my notes, just busy with the kid and stuff but will get it posted today, I hope.
I think the whole ugly mess is coming to a head and, at least for me, it’s been a very sad couple of days and emotions are running high. The quotes won’t tell everything, we don’t know everything and everyone involved yet, but I really think we are closing in. My deepest, most heartfelt thanks goes out to Blink and everyone here for all the time, effort and love put forth. The research that so many of you have done is mind blowing. I’m sending hugs to all today.
Most of all, I’m sending up prayers for Kyron and all that love him. I have cried so often and so hard these past months, and am sure I will do more of the same in the months to come.

I stopped commenting because I got so frustrated.

Blink said in a recent comment, “Yes. They are looking for a body, whether they say it or not, as I have indicated for months.
    They absolutely have a suspect.
    B”

I guess I’m a bad sleuth. Can ANYONE of you just spell out to me in a plausible theory WHAT does LE know that makes them SO SURE it’s a body and not a live child they are looking for? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT can it be????? All this deep secrecy and creepy scenario tidbits we are given are driving me crazy. Can ANYONE put some logic to this? I have racked my brain trying to think….did LE find Kyron’s original clothing right from the get-go? With his blood? Did they find photos taken of Kyron by someone AFTER he disappeared? I just can’t fathom what would make them so sure. LE said for quite some time ‘we have no evidence that he is not alive’ (I’m paraphrasing), yet we know or have sort of known all along that they believed as Blink does that Kyron is NOT alive. Even if LS or someone else outright CONFESSED that he offed Kyron or had someone do it, who knows if it’s true if there is no body? And if that were the case, why not just tell where they body is at that point, unless it’s in the ocean and gone…I’m sorry I just don’t get it, I guess I just don’t match up with your sleuths on this website Blink. I will just go back to reading.

I posted something similar on another site but wanted to weigh in here too. After following Blink and Blinksters from the beginning, I have come to believe the following: Terri didn’t know that LS was evil and heavily involved in an organized crime ring when she started screwing around with him. She learned along the way. Since she is unable to control herself (Narcissistic/Borderline/testosterone fueled mood swings), she threatened him during the course of an argument, something along the lines of threatening to expose his involvement with what I’m gathering is major pot and heroin dealing and transporting. When you threaten organized crime, they don’t f*ck around. Kyron was a violent warning to Terri to shut the bleep up or she or Kiara will be next. Rudy et all are probably also diversified into god knows what other vile and despicable criminal enterprises, which LE has been discovering along the way. My heart goes out to Kyron and his parents. I don’t let my daughter walk 2 blocks to school by herself. The world can be so tawdry.

@annals…I honestly couldn’t tell what was being said, I did wonder why it was even brought up though, especially while talking about how much money has already been spent for this investagation.

The reporters asked about money several times. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been one press conf I’ve seen on TV or online where the reporters’ questions could be heard clearly most of the time. A politician or educator or others experienced in doing this, will usually repeat the question, but most of LE hasn’t done that.

I need to listen again, but I thought he indicated that the Task Force would use the detectives who were experienced in targeting the areas they need now, not just we’ll choose some. The geography may not mean as much as the expertise of the detectives chosen, but often the expertise goes to the area where the need is greatest.

After watching the news conference, I felt sick to my stomach. Yet, so many LEO’s involved, so many hearts wrapped around this case, I have no doubt this will be succesfully prosecuted.

What could be so awful that even LE, who deal with evil more than the average lay person, don’t wish to know?

What are we going to look back and ponder?

Aagh, this kills me. I just want Kyron home.

Do you think LS and Terri are being punished? Perhaps the bad guys are not happy with the conduct (LS’s and Terri’s) that resulted in bringing so much attention to both of them.

Maybe LS and Terri were both being taught a lesson, since both of them now appear to be the main suspects in Kyron’s disappearance…

  33. hervness says:

I live in Gresham, which is closely tied with the Troutdale/Fairview area (in fact, in reality, you can’t tell the difference driving in them, in more fact, add Wood Village to the area as well). The thing about this area, besides the high (er) crime rate, hispanic population and meth problem, is that the area is easily accessible by plane, boat and an interstate freeway. If you wanted to “disappear” a tree frog expert, you’d have more options from this area than the Skyline area. It’s also in close proxomity to the Mt. Hood National Forest. A densely forested area with not a lot of people. It’s also, via back roads, about 17-20 miles from the southern areas of Canby, Oregon City and the like. It’s across the river from the Skyline area, but at that time of the morning, the traffic headed to this side of the river would be as minimal as it’s going to get. You could reasonably make the drive out here from Skyline in about 30-35 minutes if you had a route in mind. From here? Who knows.
The Troutdale airport is small, it’s a fairly tight knit community of people. But keep in mind that in June they were finishing the build on the new Fed Ex plant right down the street. There were lots and lots of trucks going in and out of the area on a daily basis, so something out of the norm in that area may not have been as noticable.

  36. MockingbirdSings says:

OK – I apologize in advance – I have tried not to ask this and have gone back to the first Rudy story and comments from then to now and I still cannot figure this out (must be the wrong breakfast cereal this morning) –

How did we come to know Rudy is married with children? (Those sites that show possible relatives don’t really say and I think a lot of people have come and gone through the house on Renada Street.)

If we know he’s married and has children, what is his wife’s name and how many children does he have and who are they?

If we do know, I would appreciate a hint where to look again.

If we don’t know, then we have been thinking of ways a wife may have been involved in this, but the wife may not even exist.
    ———————-
On a different note – the sheriff’s comment about “things we wish we didn’t know” has been picked up by the news media and repeated a lot. I understand why – it is a scary and very broad statement.

If you take that to mean LE was shocked and disturbed by it, I can only think of 2 things. LE has generally “seen it all” in one way or another, which does not mean they cease to care, but they are less surprised. The most recently exposed (to the public) crime in the Pacific Northwest is human trafficking of minors (teens, for the most part). In this instance, my guess is either they found something distressing (human related rather than ID theft, for example) that they had no idea was going on in “our own backyard” and/or something involving sick and harmful behavior toward young children, which is always shocking to people who understand the innocence of childhood and the deep trust children place in us. LE, particularly, and firefighters have a sort of guardian status for our children by the nature of what they do.

IMO, it is something more than possible abuse of Kyron or something TH may have done – more than some form of domestic violence. That has to make you wonder again how it could be an isolated event with no danger to other children.

In reference to other cases coming out of this one, the sheriff said yes, but he did not know at this time whether that would take the form of local LE investigations or (formal) memos to other appropriate agencies for follow up.

  37. Idahogal says:

“We have found out things we didn’t want to know” sums it up for me. I wanted Kyron home safe and sound. Until/if they find a body they are presuming he could be alive. The investigative process is never pleasant. Rational outcomes involving abduction include death. After listening to Staton yesterday I believe they will solve this case in due time body or no body. Peace be with Ky.

@Jackie Bauer – thanks for the link. I should check there more often. He has some interesting thoughts about the possible discovery of things in her past relating to her personality/behavior (possibly a pattern?).

I tend to rely on the little we have seen of her, the “nothing” we have heard from her except on the internet, and the history of her activities as an adult. From just those things, it is hard to imagine her actually committing the crime of murder herself, but following what Seamus says, the possibility is not hard at all.

We have to remember, for example, that just because you do not see someone (anyone) when they are high and violent on a drug or alcohol does not mean that the “drug person” does not exist. Perhaps the Vampire is not a person, but something that slowly changes that person into a “vampire” – long term drug use, permanent mental health issues, or other motivations.

Maybe we have ALL been right – even Terri’s friends and her biggest critics. There is a Terri that appears to care about kids and is not capable of harming Kyron, AND a Terri that is quite capable of doing it herself and feeling excited about it all the way home. Isn’t THAT what a “vampire” is?

If that is the case, she would do it again.

justthinking, I don’t recall LE ever saying anything publicly about thinking this was a sexually motivated crime. Do any of you other Blinkers know if they did?

By the way, loved Seamus’ blog entry, although I didn’t agree with all of his thoughts.

*IF* TMH is the primary architect of this crime or involved to a lesser degree, I suppose that Stanton *could* be indicating that all of us will be surprised at her level of involvement given TMH’s public persona of the respectable, caring, well-educated woman who aspired to teach young children.

Of course, Stanton may not have had TMH in mind at all. Who knows?

riverpearl, thanks for posting this. We can compare it to the updated list from yesterday:

FBI, Port of Portland Police, Portland Police, Fairview and Troutdale departments. Staton added that Multnomah County would play about a 30 percent role. Also, in Southern Oregon, Roseburg Police.

The sheriff said that they have narrowed their focus and there are things that they once suspected but now longer suspect. Applying this statement to the current list of involved agencies, they have apparently eliminated Clackamas and Washington counties or have finished gathering evidence there. It seems to me that the dedicated researchers on BOC have found many connections to those counties, as well as Marion county, which are not being considered by LE. If there are mystery person(s) involved here they must be doing business in East County.

Staton said he wished he could let us know what he knows. When I heard the above, I wondered about the names of people who have been mentioned as connected with this case. I would imagine if these people have been ruled out as participants, they would appreciate their names being cleared.
