David Hartley Gunned Down On Jet Ski In Mexico : Tiffany Young-Hartley Facing Scrutiny

Posted by BOC Staff | Bizarre Crime,Blink,David Hartley,Falcon Lake,Mexican Territory,Murdered,Tiffany Young-Hartley | Tuesday 5 October 2010 10:34 pm

According to his wife, Tiffany Young-Hartley, who called 911, David Hartley, 30, was gunned down by Mexican pirates while the couple ventured across the Falcon Resovior lakes US border to take pictures of the “Mexican Atlantis” or Old Guerreo.

HartleyJetSkiClose

Hartley says her husband was shot in the head and as a result “flew” off his jet ski while the couple was returning from the landmark on the Mexican side of the lake, after taking pictures. She goes on to say she became aware of 3 different boats chasing down the couple only after she saw bullets hitting the water next to her. As she turned around to see where they were coming from, she claims she witnessed her husbands murder.

David was driving a new Sea Doo RXT ski that can climb from 0–30MPH in 1.7 seconds and is capable of top-end speeds of over 60 MPH.  Blinkoncrime.com has not been able to confirm which model Ms. Hartley was driving. The couple had been on at least one earlier jet ski jaunt while still in Mexico, but was cut short due to a mishap with David’s craft on June 20th.

HartleyMovingJune2010

According to his wife, David was face-down in the water, wearing a life vest, after he was shot.

Despite the horror of what she had just witnessed and astonishingly avoiding injury to her or her watercraft, she circled back around, jumped off her jet ski, and turned her 250 lb. husband upright to observe the gunshot wound to his forehead. You read that correctly, according to Tiffany Hartley, while being chased from behind, David was shot from the front. Hartley maintains this is when she attempted to load him onto her jet ski, and also when two of the three boats were now positioned in front of her.

TiffanyFB

One of the alleged pirate boats from the front approached her within 10 ft. While she stared down the barrell of his gun, she was holding onto her husband with one hand, her ski with the other asking not to be shot. Apparently through some sort of Mexican telepathy or nautical sign language, the men who just ambushed the couple and murdered her husband in cold blood, made a decision to let her go and retreated IN FRONT OF HER.

Hartley claims she cannot identify any of the men, that they never said a word to her nor could she hear anything they may have said to each other, but believes the motive for the attack to be robbery or to kidnap her. It is not clear how Tiffany arrived at this conclusion as they never made an attempt to stop them or ask them for their money, she was off her $13,000 Sea doo they could have easily taken, and they let her go.

It was at this time that Hartley finally did hear something. She says she heard the voice of God tell her to leave David, save herself and get to safety. However, his instruction must have been non-specific because she proceeded to mount her ski in deep water, start it back up, and drive directly toward and then past the very band of gun weilding murderous cartel who minutes ago gunned down her highschool sweetheart and spouse of 8 years. (Editors note: I cannot imagine the nerve it takes to again have your back to the same crew who, unprovoked, sprayed the lake with bullets behind you while you were fleeing for your life).

While Tiffany admits the couple was aware of recent pirate activity in the area they learned about while David researched the location, she claims they had not heard of anymore incidents on Falcon Lake, which borders both Texas and Mexico, “in a while.”

The Hartley’s, who had recently been on a few tropical vacations, were in the process of relocating to Colorado next week from Reynosa, Mexico and McAllen Texas, where they had lived for only a few months, following David’s transfer request to Calfrac well services.

According to recent Facebook postings, although the couple could not agree on furniture tastes, they recently purchased a house full of it just after a luxury cruise and visit to a seminar for those experiencing financial difficulty.

I would love to be able to do no analysis and regergetate this story as reported by main stream media whereby not one reporter asks the obvious question:

After several known incidents of piracy in that location over the last months, why would the “pirates” suddenly go on a murderous rampage in lieu of attempting to rob a couple on jet skis that could outrun them on sight?

Not gonna happen. I have heard umpteen versions of Ms. Hartley’s version of events leading to the random execution of her husband.

None pass the smell test. However, just today, Zapata County Sheriff “Sigi” Gonzalez, Jr says his investigation, now aided by a witness who is a long standing member of the Zapata community, exonerates Mrs. Hartley of any wrongdoing.

Gonzalez completely rules out foul play on the part of Mrs. Hartley.

“A local witness saw Tiffany Hartley escaping on her jet-ski to the Texas side of the lake,” he said. “She came in at high speed and was being pursued by armed men in a Mexican fishing boat that that the witness clearly observed.”

Gonzalez said the witness was a long-standing member of the Zapata community who was well known to him and regarded as highly credible.

“The testimony of this witness dispels any idea Mrs. Hartley was involved in any wrongdoing regarding the murder of her husband,” he said firmly. “She called in a 911 phone call to our office at around 2:20 p.m. on the day of the incident, immediately after she got to shore, and her statements to my office confirm what the local witness observed.”

Unfortunately, the witness account does not match Tiffany Hartley’s own version of events. At no time has she ever said that she was again chased by the “pirates”, in fact, she claims she left them behind after driving “through” them.

Hartley references recent pirate activity, which is almost verbatim what she says happened to her and David, with the exception of the actual piracy:

On April 30, five people in two different boats were fishing on Falcon Lake and went to the Old Guerrero area, where they were taking photos of the old church. While they were there, a boat with four heavily tattooed men approached the two boats quickly. The men identified themselves as “Federales,” but they were not wearing uniforms. The men boarded the boats, demanded cash and asked “where are the drugs?” The fishermen told the men that they had no drugs and were just fishing and taking photos. They ended up giving the men $200 cash and left the area. The pirates followed the two boats, but the U.S. boats were able to outrun them and the men stopped following once the two boats entered U.S. waters.

In every recorded incident since April, the heavily tattoed pirates posing as “Federales” without uniforms, came upon anchored fishing boats, boarded them, robbed the fisherman at gunpoint of any personal cash, searched for drugs left without any violence. In the Hartley family interview on the Today show, Tiffany states that after David was hit, she circled around, jumped off her jetski, swam over to her husband and because he was “face down in the water” she had to turn him over where she discovered he was shot in the head.

It would seem I am not alone in my quagmire.  Mexican Investigators, who hold jurisdiction have already begun to question Ms. Hartley’s story.

Marco Antonio Guerrero Carrizales, the district attorney for the Miguel Aleman Province adjoining Falcon Lake on the Mexican side, has questioned whether Tiffany Hartley was involved in foul play.

Early this morning, Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez announced the Mexican Authorities will be searching the area where David Hartley was murdered, and have committed to “not leaving” until they find him. Tiffany Hartley, accompanied by her parents, but without David’s, filed a missing person report at the Mexican Consulate last night as a matter of procedure to “get the ball rolling”.

    Again….I come back to the body.

    She had his body…..and now it’s missing? Where are they gonna search? I can’t wrap my mind around her statement of hanging on to him and his sea doo because ‘he’d do the same for her’. Yet, she left…bolted? Would he leave her too?

    Where is his body? IS it lost at sea? And if blink says there’s blood, where? On what? Is she the only one in on this? She’s a tiny girl….no way she’s in on this alone, if she is involved.

    I agree with the poster who said if it was her husband in this position, he’d be questioned and search warrants would be issued. If he’s dead, let’s face it….money is always the motive. How much was he worth to her dead?

    …and the infamous ‘lover’ angle. I wouldn’t rule that out.

    Interesting article & interesting that under all of the duress at the time Tiffany is so exact about the bullet entry & exit wounds.. Its not just that he was shot in the head..

  3. Mom3.0 says:

    In the earlier reports Tiffany is quoted as saying that she went back for her husband and “flung herself into the water” then later she is quoted as saying that she sped back to him and tried to get him on her Sea Doo.

    In the first reports she is quoted as saying that she begged the “pirates” to let her go- and they did- in later reports she is quoted as saying that she sped away through a spray of bullets- whipping past her…

    Personally, I find the papers from their home state to be rather- ‘light’ on facts and heavy on bias.- Now the pirates have become “young men with guns”

    I don’t know what happened on that lake- I don’t know if her husband is dead-if they were the victims of pirates or what- but it seems to me that, no one else does either- SO her accountS need to be further investigated.

    I agree with you, Blink and the other posters that are calling for further investigations- Very apropos -this IS very Bush league- why the rush to believe that this man is dead- why the rush to push the political hot-button issue?

    I am including a link to the USA Today article-With some pretty unbelievably naive quotes, IMO- on whether or not Tiffany’s story should be believed- because to question it is reprehensible and good church-going folk such as Ted Haggert have impeccable character…

    Texas Gov. Rick Perry said the couple were sightseeing.

    “I find it really reprehensible for anyone, U.S. or Mexican, to speak otherwise,” he said Wednesday.

    Quigley said, “We at the consulate have absolutely no reason whatsoever to doubt Mrs. Hartley’s story.”

    Perry asked Mexican President Felipe Caldero´n to call him within 48 hours to say Hartley’s body has been recovered.

    The Hartleys were active members of The Family Church, a 2,000-member non-denominational evangelical church in McAllen, lead pastor John Brady said.

    “Their character is impeccable,” Brady said. “There’s nothing to suggest anything but that she’s saying the absolute truth.”

    I really hope that this story proves to be true- as it will make me think twice as hard before opening my mouth – based on others odd behaviors and such- and my hinky odometer alone-

    Could it really be as easy as following your instincts and reading people?- or do some innocent people REALLY behave this way
    If it turns out she is telling the truth- (like IMOIMO said I hope so) IMO,she and her story will be used again and again to show that innocent people don’t always act the part….

    Here is about as local as one gets:

    Tom Bendele, owner of Falcon Lake Tackle on the 99,000-acre bass-fishing destination, also questions Hartley’s narrative.

    Honestly, the pic of her sitting on her husbands “hog”, makes me want to wretch. You totally know that a reporter asked her to do that to get some shots.

    Blink, I read that quote from the tackle shop and said Oh Really???

    Going back to what you and others were saying Blink, IRT whether or not her husband was dead or just severely injured- I agree She does not seem to know-

    She said in the Greta interview, that she watched him fly over the front of his jet ski- she said they were at high speeds trying to rush back to the US side- how does she know that it was a gun shot? In my opinion, flying over the handle grips and hitting the water at high speeds will cause alot of damage to ones forehead- How does she know that his head wasn’t just torn up from the force of the water, and that he wasn’t just knocked unconscious?

    BTW that Greta video wow- thanx for posting it Blink- Greta’s closing comment of “I hope this is agressively investigated to find out what happened”- If that doesn’t just say it all.

    That Greta interview, yet another account of what happened- She said, that she had to go through and toward the “gang” in order to get to the US side- no bullets spraying no one chasing her as reported by one unnamed witness- WTH?

    Wow I have got to say this is a troubling one. I have to agree it is time for someone to call the FBI in now and protect their respective bu.. This has a smell of a big stink for our fair nation if in fact we begin blaming the border problems ( which I think is a major, major issue in so many ways) wrongly because of good old greed. I will admit in watching JV at times I was convinced and at others I was not. I take the fifth on what I was convinced on. Even though JV seems so convinced in TH’s story being true, I will admit her questions were good. She did seem to try and pin down issues. After those questions I thought TH faultered. The face down issue is hinky, hinky…something I can understand. When it comes to guns I am clueless. This needs cleared up by our Feds. This is not a “local” issue.

    Not sure of the source, but this was posted by the administrator on the Facebook page-In Honor of David Michael Hartley-

    U.S. law enforcement officials said Thursday that they have undisclosed “information” leading them to believe Tiffany Harley had no criminal involvement in an alleged attack on her husband on Lake Falcon, a 60-mile-long lake that connects Texas with Mexico.Sheriff Martin Cuellar of Webb County said Thursday that authorities have information suggesting Hartley’s story is credible. Hartley of Milliken, Colo., said her husband, David, was shot by Mexican pirates on the lake last week as they were returning to the United States on Jet Skis. “Information has surfaced that we can’t disclose at this time that she didn’t commit any kind of offense,” Cuellar told reporters.

She does not sound of a wife that just saw her husband be killed in front of her eyes. Then the other day, while she was on the Today Show, she really seemed like she was speaking from a script, maybe something that her and her husband came up with. There is something so fishy about this story……someting is not right and the wife is not telling the truth, it’s as plain as day. Wouldn’t you focus on the trauma of the event and not even think about border issues, politics, politicians, etc.? Maybe all of that would come later after grieving. Not within a day or two of watching your loving spouse, who was allegedly trying to protect you (while you were on a highly dangerous/illegal jaunt over the border in Mexico territory) from a marauding band of renegade “drug cartel-controlled pirates” who didn’t take anything of value from you but instead shot your husband with Olympic-level marksmanship? And after all of that drama – they just allowed you to speed off in your bikini with your valuable jet ski/wedding ring/watch and hostage potential?

Are there commercial fishing speed boats that I am unaware of?

    Blink as it so happens I stopped at a State Park on a reservoir on my way home from work to go running. Its a smaller reservoir 10 miles but standing on the bridge that spans it you can easily see several miles. I hike and run there all the time and even standing on the trail that runs along it you can see everything going on for long distances….and voices from the fishing boats carry quite a distance. Looking at the shape of the Falcon Reservoir like most reservoirs it is long but not too far across. I’m not sure where the submerged church is located in comparison with the state park. But unless you are down one of the nooks of the reservoir any nonsense would be noticed by anyone in the vicinity and if machine guns were firing it would probably be alarming to others in at least a 10 mile radius probably much further…I’m using the 10 mile reservoir I was at as a comparison Falcon Reservoir is just long it isn’t that wide. Machine guns couldn’t go off anywhere on the reservoir I was at this evening and me not be aware of it….but taking into consideration that the walls of the reservoir I run at are steeper and surrounded by mountains and that may effect the sound. A helicopter on the U.S. side would easily find anyone floating.

    This is such a disturbing story to me not so much because of her lying but because law enforcement and elected officials are blatantly disregarding/ignoring obvious logic and reason for a political agenda. (that might sound naive… but this is murder!)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Wasn’t it one of JVM’s reporters who mentioned tonight that they have found witnesses who saw both Tiffany and David on their jet skis in the water on the lake? In one of Tiffany’s accounts, she mentions passing a boat before entering Mexican waters, and says the people inside the boat waved at her and David. Perhaps these people came forward and spoke with LE.
    Disclaimer: I have tons of friends that bass fish on Falcon lake, but have recently chosen to fish elsewhere because of the escalating violence on the Mexican side. Also, in my work, I have interviewed many a spouse who decided s/he wanted his/her spouse dead.
    Maybe I am just having a helluva gullible moment, but I have watched all her interviews today, and there is something that rings true for me in all of her statements.
    Some observations:
    1- Yes, her statements are not all exactly the same, but they are enough alike for this hardened interviewer to see a pattern. As an interviewer, I am more concerned when the interviewee tells the exact same story again and again, word for word, without any variation. That kind of account *can* indicate the interviewee has rehearsed and committed to memory their “script” of what they want to say. I do not find the variances in her account to be suspicious or necessarily indicative of deception.
    2- Each time Tiffany comes to the point in her story when she speaks of turning David over in the water and seeing his wound, she chokes up as if she is reliving that moment.
    3- During many of the interviews, she still speaks of him in the present tense.
    4- Her affect is odd, but people who have witnessed horrific, life-endangering events can present as numb, blunted and detached for several weeks, and may have a singsong or monotonic quality to their speech. This reaction is something to behold, as the survivor appears quite oddly disconnected from the experience, while everyone else who hears the account may be quite shaken.
    5- If she shot him in the head, WHY in the world would she want the authorities to find his body, autopsy his wound, and implicate her?
    The only other possible scenarios I can entertain at the present, are:
    1) that this may have been a planned disappearance in order for Mr. Hartley to find his way out of debt. In that case, no dead body will be found, and she will go on….to be eventually reunited with her DH.
    2) This was a failed drug transaction.
    I know, I know. Go ahead, throw the rotten tomatoes at me. :) I could be wrong. I am usually no pushover (considering my day job), but I just can’t help but wonder where the truth lies. Right now, short of MORE EVIDENCE, I am choosing to give Tiffany the benefit of the doubt. Would evidence change my mind? Certainly.
    So, I say, “Come on, Tiffany, go to a really good FBI polygrapher, and let’s get these questions put to rest so you can go on with your life.” And, in the meantime, LE should check to see if Mr. Hartley had an insurance policy and if either spouse had a paramour.
  34. JR says:
    I’m not familiar enough with the pirate activities or the lay-out of this lake border region to scrutinize the logistics of this woman’s story, but I do know enough to sense lying when I see it.
    In the ABC interview, the signs start straight off:
    -when confronted with the fact the Mexican authorities aren’t doing as much as they should because frankly, they don’t believe her story – she’s rather diplomatic and understanding about the whole thing. seems to me a comment like that would fuel raw emotions of anguish and anger in a real victim faced with scrutinya after experiencing such a horrific event.
    -the next slip-up is HUGE. she starts to adamently claim “But it ISN’T…I mean, it IS true.” well, that pretty much speaks for itself
    -”I know the pirates, or whoever did this…” what do you mean whoever? haven’t you been certain it was pirates the entire time, cause you haven’t suggested it could be anyone else until now and kinda a big deal if anyone else could of just came up and started shooting you guys.
    -she goes on to say, “What reason would I do anything to harm him?” she asks the question and in the uncomfortable silence in place of an answer she suddenly appears to be chewing gum. its unlikely someone would have a piece of gum before appearing on TV and it doesn’t appear like she had anything in her mouth until this point. People need a distraction when they are lying and find it hard to just ‘be’ in themselves, especially when they are looking at someone face to face. Blinking, sniffing, coughing, yawning, looking away (which she also does) and this imaginary chewing could be her thing. here’s the link
    http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/wife-tiffany-hartleys-story-questioned-husband-died-mexico-11811099
    -In the initial Today show interview (that everyone has seen) the thing that most stood out to me was her contradicting herself and catching herself about whether or not they knew of pirate danger in the area.
    when first asked she said, they weren’t really aware of the danger when planning the holiday or hadn’t heard anything recent to be concerned. she insisted her husband would never put her in harms way.
    later in the interview, on the topic of whether the authorities should be doing more to help, she says they should be doing everything because “They know of the pirate dangers right in the area, WE knew of the dangers….(she catches herself) I mean, we knew there had been and just hadn’t heard anything in a while.” Its not word for word, but pretty much the jist of her slip-up.
    -Overall she is way too even toned and over accommodating to answer the media’s questions. Apparently she wants press to help aid the recovery of her husbands body, even suggesting more man power for the authorities to overtake the pirates and get it back. Are you kidding me? If she really believes these pirates shot her husband and then took his body, does she really think its being held or locked up somewhere for them to get back? Does she really think the authorities are going to battle it out with the pirates for a dead body, when they can’t even stop the cartels killing live bodies everyday?
    If retrieving her husband’s body was so important why didn’t she keep an eye on him and the jet ski after she escaped. Usually you can see the area of a lake, even from the shore and if even if she was out of view, why didn’t she tell 911 she couldn’t see his location anymore and she needed people out there right away.
    Not once does her story imply she was close enough to the pirates to literally see down the barrel of any gun, yet that is the one detail she always includes. strange….
    Your statemtn somehow made it CRYSTAL CLEAR in my mind that this couple KNOWINGLY BROKE THE LAW AND COMMITTED a SERIOUS CRIME, (entering the country without authorization) and now are calling the Kettle black…
    (okay, juz saying that I do not know if they had legal status be in the country, but…I know that they did NOT enter Mexico through customs officials either.)
    Thanks nana2 for posting the JVM interview- sac of doo doo indeed Blink-
    http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/crime/2010/10/07/jvm.hartley.lake.shooting.hln#
    Now the story has changed yet again now Tiffany says they saw the boats when they were still taking pictures and the pirates waved to them in a friendly way… she goes on to say, again changing her story -that first the three boats were chasing them… but oh wait first we passed them then they began chasing us- and they started shooting…
    Her whole account of looking back at David has now changed too… she no longer watches as he flies forward off of his jet ski but turns around only to see that he had been thrown off…
    She is sure to keep the part about her no questions asked going back to help her husband…-JVM was sure to compliment her heroics- then as she flipped him over a boat came up to her she never mentions begging them not to shoot- She says they just left- but then says when she was trying to get David on her JS the boats were coming back to her….HUH? Now she says she didn’t have enough time to get David onto the jet ski….
    She starts heading back to the US side and says they shot a few more times at her… Doesn’t mention having to go past them to get to the US
    At least JVM tried to get her talk more about the injury… Which she doesn’t she just turns it into her account of telling him I don’t know what to do and maybe he wasn’t dead yet but He couldn’t hear her…
    BTW- if you think that video was strange this one is out there- She says she wants to get David’s body back -so that they can all go on with their lives-SO SOON? She is calling for the Navy and whom ever is in power to go down there and (pp) get his body back at all costs- even if there is a battle—
    I think she should take your advice Blink and STOP giving interviews-The more she talks the less we know for certain- She certainly is not helping her case by continually changing the story.IMO
    PS Blink did you get my post from October 7, 2010 at 8:38 pm? As it is stilling showing on my end as in moderation? TIA -I hope it wasn’t too over the top-
    Lisa Pepper Kincaid: I served alongside Tiffany at an orphanage/school in Reynosa. She is such a sweet person. When we heard of this tragedy our hearts broke. Our prayers go out to Tiffany and her family during this difficult time. We pray that they will be able to get him back…to have the closure they so desperately need.
    Dear Ms. B -Please do not hurl. Go play with Mr. B and relax, sleep. And, in fact, perhaps ask him to give you a limestone foot massage, then go climb a palm tree. <3 Can't wait for my next Blink:-)
  40. Mom3.0 says:
    Going straight to bed after this – Madilu, Hello I just read your comment- Thanks for pointing out the obvious for me too- makes me wonder if there isn’t a whole other “real” story to uncover here- that has nothing to do with pirates but may have to do with other criminal activity- In all honesty, I don’t know what to think- but I would love to hear the new evidence that proves that Tiffany’s account is the truth and nothing but the truth-
  41. Mountaintime says:
    Wait – wait…
    They lived two + years in Mexico?
    And…Tiffany could not understand anything they said…??
    That detail bothers me quite a lot.
    Generally if you live in another country for a couple of years, you learn SOMEthing of the language.
    Even living on the border, most people learn some Spanish
    (and, conversely, English).
    This pirate yarn is getting harder and harder to swallow…
  42. Val says:
    I think this sounds fishy. But from personal experience under extreme Stress (I found a friend with his throat slashed) there are details that, after 5 years, I cannot recall. At one point, I contacted the Sheriff to fill in details.
    Her whole story is very Detailed. I could be mistaken but the mind is powerful and it hides things from us that we can’t handle. And his parents didn’t file a missing persons report? Where’s his key ski? Hmmm. Interesting.
    Those people exist.
    I know a couple who lived in Spain for several months. As far as I remember it was even in the country and not a tourist location where various languages are spoken. And yet they returned home with not even a basic knowledge of Spanish.
    It suffices for the person not to be interested in the place they live in (the couple I mentioned went to Spain for work reasons). If you have internet access, you can follow your interests and stay in touch with your friends without speaking a single non-English word.
    You can even keep up a social life in a different country without speaking the language if you have English-speaking friends or acquaintances (for some couples, just being together is enough). In most places, foreigners sharing the same language tend to flock together in colonies, and while not all members of those colonies stick to those, it is entirely possible to get by without `outside contact`.
    It is something I could not imagine for myself; and it always makes me a little sad since those people miss out on so much. But everyone´s different.
    The fact that she claims not to speak or understand Spanish in spite of having lived in Mexico for 2+ years says a lot about Tiffany, but it´s entirely possible that it is true. Actually, it would fit quite well with the impression she is currently making.
    And while I´m typing a comment… minor rant:
    I am not a deeply religious person and I usually don´t mind if religion is spoken about in a disrespectful way. But by now, I really, really wish lightning would strike down from the heavens and burn to a crisp every single perp claiming God told or asked them to do whatever it was they committed. And as for the Christians among them, if they were really such good Christians as they imply with that claim, they would not trample the Third Commandment with feet.
    Thanks for letting me blow off steam.
    She never said she could not understand them- she said she and “they” never heard them say anything to her/them or each other.
    A life vest worn by the wife of a man widely believed to have been killed by cartel “pirates” on Falcon Reservoir has what may be a tiny drop of blood on it and has been sent to a forensic lab for testing, said the sheriff investigating the case.
    Well, they can field test it to see if it is blood (hemo protein swab), so I will make the assumption depending on the size of the sample they know at least that.
    I am sure I don’t have to tell Blinkers the issues with contamination surrounding this.
    Blink, you wrote “She is a lying sak.” That is the harshest I’ve ever seen you post without hard evidence. Other than your well-tuned hinky meter, what do you know that we’ve missed?
  46. zinnia says:
    it makes me crazy to hear Tiffany make these ridiculous statements. On the JVM interview, she says that she went to David without even a second thought, to see if he was okay. She says that she didn’t know what to expect when she rolled him over. She says that she thought maybe he was just hit in the shoulder. And then she says she rolls him over and sees that he was shot in the head. I do not understand that statement at all. She claimed earlier that he was shot in the back of the head. So does it make any sense to anyone here that she had to roll him over to see that he was shot in the head?! That must have been one strange bullet projectile.
    Why does the story of the Hartley’s entering Mexico illegally enlist high-up government officials when the tragedy of Elisabeth Mandala, Houston area high school senior got absolutely no attention from local or federal government agencies? Elisabeth – a U.S. citizen – apparently crossed the border from Texas into Mexico voluntarily too.
    “…that was the last anyone would hear from her until reports came from Mina, a small village in Mexico near Monterrey, of a young blond girl found beaten to death in a Dodge truck that had apparently smashed into another truck. Along with Mandala’s broken body authorities reported finding two dead Mexican citizens, Dante Ruiz Siller, 38, and Luis Angel Estrella Mondragon, 44.
    Investigators believe the three victims had been killed at least 10 hours before the crash, and the killers staged the wreck. A large rock had been placed on top of the gas pedal, the station reported.”
  48. S.H. says:
    Tiffany, believes, David was yanked out the water, by Pirates,
    onto the Pirates boat,then transported to land, “hidden in the brush”.
    Why would the Pirates pull David (250 pounds) onto a boat, only to transport his dead, bloody body, to land?
    I could understand, maybe, if the Pirates, removed Davids life jacket, that is what pirates do and that is to steal.
    Translation: They have already told her they ran aerials and sidescan sonar, have clear pics and neither he or the jet ski is there.
  49. Eloise says:
    They just had an interview (audio) on Fox with the supposed witness. His voice is now distorted. He added that Tiffany indicated her husbands brains were coming out all over when she turned him over. Sorry, very disgusting and disturbing particularly before breakfast.
    This seems to be another new details, has this been heard before?
    Never, it is like she has BOC on her handheld.
    But seriously, what is bizarre to me is that the more she appears on TV, the more her story changes, that is something investigators flag for deception.
