The Jennifer Kesse Case: Six Years of Fears, Tears and Degrees Heat Up The Hunt

Last evening, 6 Years ago at 10:40 PM, Jennifer Kesse’s cell phone battery was removed.

Experts from the newly formed SMART panel concur it was likely removed by the person or persons responsible for her disappearance.

As chronicled in an expose  last week by www.blinkoncrime.com,  current leads are pointing to further investigation of Jennifer’s professional associations and colleagues at Central Florida Investments.

On November 15, 2005, Jennifer’s promotion to Manager of Mortgage Process Engineering  was announced.

While there is no known indication her responsibilities included corporate real estate acquisition and divestitures, www.blinkoncrime.com’s investigation into her disappearance has uncovered a very notable corporate transaction worthy of a  Made-off* award.

Is this the meeting Jennifer missed that prompted the call by a colleague to her Mother Joyce?

The very morning Jennifer disappeared,  under the direction of CFI’s CEO-  David Siegel- the company sold an undeveloped parcel of commercial land for 4.7million dollars on GrandNational Drive .  The financing agreement was finalized on January 24th and the sales contracts were signed two days later.

Joyce , Don & Associates agreed to pay interest-only installments of 10% on the 4.2million balance monthly until the third year anniversary; at which time a balloon payment for the entire remaining amount was due and payable.  That is like the zeppelin of balloons in commercial real estate without so much as a plat plan or wetland study.

Who agreed to fund the acquisition for JD&A?  Central Florida Investments.

Why CFI would to carry that amount of debt with no “win” on the balance sheet at the start of the decline in home sales leading to lack of funds for time shares, I have no idea.  Why CFI would agree to such a proposal without appropriate due diligence is the next head scratcher.  As the new process improvement specialist- did this come under Jennifer Kesse’s review?

Joy, Don & Associates was the latest brainchild of Osmond Decoteau, and Donna Rachael Daniels.

The short version:  After the dirty duo bought up 2 remaining parcels on International Drive they did not have funds for, Decoteau & Daniels were indicted in 2008 for wire fraud.   Both were accused of bilking investors, landowners and residents of over $20million dollars for properties in Brooklyn, California and Florida.

What started out as the slum-lord version of ponzi worked so well the Trinidad native decided to migrate South and rip off wealthier folks in a warmer climate.  Makes sense if the villagers are crossing the Brooklyn bridge  with torches and  you have been unsuccessful in selling it thus far.

Decoteau is currently in Federal prison awaiting an order for the govt to forcibly medicate him to be competent to stand trial.

Bernie Madoff walks past his cell and mutters “underachieving slacker” under his breathe on his way to Canasta in the rec lounge.

Daniels is free on a $500K bond and is believed to be cooperating with prosecutors.  An unsuccessful hand-written bankruptcy filing was dismissed.  Deconteau set up his family members to buy the property at a loss under the now defunct  Ambeeka  Holding Corp.

In the end CFI got the property back by default.

Members of Decoteau’s extended family also own a timeshare in Westgate’s Sand Lake Resort; the sale of which was processed during Jennifer’s tenure at CFI.

NOT THE VALET

Just about the same time Jenn’s enrapt co-worker Johnny Campos arrives at the CFI offices in Ocoee, the mystery suspect , the only named suspect in her disappearance to date, is parking her car next to the pool at the Huntington On The Green apartments.

He pulls in, quickly reverses and straightens the wheel, waits about 32 seconds and makes his way past 3 separately angled security cameras making no attempt to hide his appearance.

Theories abound about his attire.  Cook, painter, security patrol, bike runner or messenger.

New leads acquired in Jennifer’s case by www.blinkoncrime.com have presented a new possibility.

Is the video a break or a bumper?  We are talking cricket-speak.

While it is not known if she was alone or with a friend,  Jennifer visited the Cricketers Arms 2 month prior to her disappearance.

Could the man parking Jennifer’s car at noon on January 24th, 2006 be wearing a cricket uniform?

Left Image Surveillance Footage

Cricket is a major fave among the younger Euro-set in Orlando as well as the pub named in their honor- The Cricketers Arms.  In 2006 “Cricketers” was located on Industrial Drive and recently re-opened on W. Sand Lake Rd, adjacent to the Sand Lake Resorts owned by Westgate.

* Made-off.  Get it, like made off with cash?  Nobody laughed when I said he was born into it.  Not remotely funny, but the irony is there.  I am referring to irony as in, the bars that keep him in prison, locked up.

@hervness–As a business owner in AL we have to show proof to vendors and entities that we do business with that we do use e-verify. One of the problems some of the building contractors and farmers has is that many of their low paying jobs are done by these immigrants. It has been shown that many people in our great state do not wish to do the back breaking hard work that these people will gladly do. Once again, I am not passing judgement, it is a dilemma for our state’s economy. (sorry I am getting off topic again).

Wondering about the two spliced B&W photos- the garb, body language and posture, it is so similar, wondering where did the photo of the cricketers on the right of the poi come from?
I would say that’s the guy right there, no?

No affiliation, for comparison only and taken years apart.

the photos were taken years apart, well when i first saw, i thought it could be father/ son, if not, then it it a learned walked for a specific reason, i havent seen the full video , but iirc, the person has a funny gait, and imo, that is what made some think fem, along with the slight build. http://www.coachesinfo.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=281:fastmedium&catid=84:cricket-bowling&Itemid=159 front on action,or front on mixed action is the move ,shown by both photos, cept the diagram shows left foot front, interesting , both blinks photos show right foot front,is the diagram bias for the viewer or are cricket players subjected to goofy footed stance, are both photo- guys goofy footed ,or am i making somein of nothin ,excerpted from link:”A controlled release position was catorgorised by a braced front leg (no decreasing of the front-knee angle / less than 5 degrees) and no lateral flexion at release. A controlled release position is independent of the type of bowler (front-on / side-on / midway).”— iirc while the poi is walking, its that braced front leg that makes the gait odd,idk icould be wrong.

I have read the posts regarding Jenn. I guess I was just mis-understood on the cell phone battery. You claimed the newly for “SMART” team concluded this….why was this not discovered earlier? And why was this not released in the news?

I am so not being a hardass, I have strict copyright and fair use parameters and I take them seriously.

This is a perfectly acceptable format:

snip- (start your copy and paste, no more than 2 paragraphs)-end snip

    insert the link next line

    Then your question on above.

This helps in many ways. Regulars, if provided in this format, will likely answer your query before I can get to it if it has been covered. They are always kinder at repeating info than I.

I rarely, if ever, will answer a question where someone says “You said”.. without a link.

Sorry Blink, my question is this: I’m wondering how CFI / Westgate was able to get so big without partaking in some underhanded dealings. Their biggest business is timeshares, purchasing real estate already developed, customize to their flavor, adding new only when they know they’ll have it sold, then end up in even more debt. Is their Las Vegas casino/resort done yet? How could they even consider doing that when tons of their timeshare holders are having their requests met? These consumers paid for a product that isn’t being delivered. By Siegel’s own admission, he can’t “worry” about all the complaints bc it just goes with the territory of owning a huge conglomerate. Well I disagree, and apparently the BBB disagreed as well at one point Shen they graded his company with an “F” or a “D” at one time.

The property I was talking about on PGA Blvd was handled in the same fashion Westgate handles some of their dealings. This can’t be legal can it? The lawsuits are abundant against both companies. I’m wondering if they could be related somehow.

I posted this in the wrong spot…
Very intriguing. Amazing that the police wouldn’t have questioned Johnny, the guy who “she was having an issue with, a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.”
From everything I read, I believe Johnny was upset and confronted Jennifer @ work her 1st day back about her vacation with Rob. Jennifer decided to meet with Johnny that night for drinks to implement “the concept of just going out with a person(johnny) to tell them(him) that you were(She is) not interested.(She didn’t tell Rob because she didn’t want to upset him when things were finally meshing together.) That night,Johnny got angry. Killed her in a heat of passion, disposed of her body, her cell,& Travis cell where “she was likely eaten up by alligators.” Johnny came back to her condo. Set the scene to look as if she slept at the condo. In the AM, he showered in her condo.re-dressed in his clothes from the night before except for his sweater, so he wasn’t wearing any identifying clothing. Put on a hat. Drove Jennifer’s car and parked it 1.5 miles away @11am. Walked back to her condo to get his car. and drove into work at 12ish. The next day he took his car to be detailed so there was no evidence that Jennifer was in his car, hence the reason he needed a ride from Frank.
They should ask Johnny’s wife if she recognizes the sweater. Did they do any forensics on the sweater or the “damp” towel?

  13. Black Pearl says:

Blink, I don’t remember seeing it mentioned anywhere whether the door to Jenn’s condo had a peep hole?

If the door didn’t have a peep hole, then perhaps if bad guy or JC knocked on the door, and Jenn thought it was a neighbor or a maintenance man (was she currently waiting for any repairs to be done) she could have opened the door just a crack and someone with a thick/tough shoe could prevent her from closing the door again. Just a thought as to the possibility of Jenn not being “lured out” so to speak.

Brilliant question and yes, it did. It was installed prior to Jennifer’s purchase- I have the workorder.

    B

  14. Black Pearl says:

I would love to know what JC’s wife knows or thinks. Surely she had to be aware that he was acting oddly or suspiciously. Even if it was only in regards to having a crush on Jenn, let alone if any kind of relationship actually occurred.

But following my line of thinking with regards to possible “partners in crime”: coworkers (in positions of management) could have become involved in Jenn’s disappearance in a “quid pro quo” arrangement given that there were shady business transactions going on; a brother of JC could have been involved because they are linked by blood and possibly by a history of trouble/crime; and finally, perhaps JC’s wife could be an accomplice in that she most likely didn’t want to share or lose her husband (evidenced by the fact that she is still with him)– could have been enough motivation to help get rid of her competition?

  15. Delilah says:

Confused on the battery….I can’t find anywhere in the past this was mentioned. I was wondering if we knew how the SMART team came up with this ‘theory’? Is it just a theory or was it confirmed?

Excellent Question. I have confirmed the battery through my sources, verified through LE.

No, you will not read it elsewhere because we broke it, and I can assure you nobody would do that without confirmation. I may draw on my track record on occasion, I cannot name sources.

ps. Welcome and nicely done. I appreciate your advocacy of Jennifer Kesse

sigh. so if jenn’s door had a peephole and the internal deadbolt, IF someone came to her door, she likely did not open it to a stranger. it was someone she knew, or thought she could trust.

@ janet – i am new on this blog and this case. but from what i have read, my understanding is, jenn placed a call to her bf from her landline, which places her in her condo @ 9:57.

blink’s team discovered a cell phone ping ( at a still undisclosed location, but not in her condo? ) after that, and the battery was removed @ 10:40.

the mystery is, what happened in those 43 minutes? someone correct me if i am wrong.

Great Job Marnie- I also said I would not be surprised at some point to hear that the call to Rob confirmed as a landline to his cell call, might be a confluence of analysis.

In other words, I expect to hear some sort of explanation that they last spoke earlier and the 9:57 may have been a “but” dial. I have no verification of this so I published what was given to me- jus sayin.

    B

i think it was also said, that 9:57 call was brief, and she told her bf she was going to bed. just wondering, is it possible JC or someone was in the condo at that time, and in trying to get rid of him, she made that call, to sort of show him she is moving on with her life, and he snapped and somehow dragged her out at that time? maybe there was a gun or weapon to force her cooperation in leaving?

I have a suggestion as to why the cricket player on the right has a goofy footed stance. I think he may be wearing cleatskins over another shoe. I just found these on the internet. The person on the left, related to Jennifer’s disappearance, has odd shoes. They appear to be all black soft sole cleats. The shoe is deeply curved with the foot. I searched for quite a while and couldn’t find a shoe like this. It may be that he is also wearing a gripping type of cleatskin over his shoes. This might explain why the shoes appear all black with no emblem and goofy looking or unnaturally shaped.

There’s another missing person from the same area! Her name is Alashonee Cotti. She disappeared from her sister’s home in Orlando. I searched the last name Cotti on 411 in Orlando and only ONE address pops up. Guess where it is… OAK RIDGE! I have no idea if this is the sister’s address but how ironic thst onky 1 Cotti is listed and its right there! Are you kidding me? Now that’s ridiculous to think it’s coincidental. All these women missing from around the same area. Wow.

  21. marnie says:

hi blink – i do remember you saying that, and i was not sure what you meant by that. wow, that would really change the time line, at least as far as us trying to figure out what would cause her to leave her condo at that hour, right after speaking to rob.

We will have to nominate Blink as a first class beginner lock picker. I suppose you use a bent paper clip for a pick and another one for a wrench? Or,is it a metal fingernail file for a pick? That little lock is only there to prevent the non-curious from doing what Blink does. It is about as secure as a large staple.

I find it interesting that there was a report of Jennifer being seen in a pickup truck with two men and Tara Grinstead was reported to have been seen in a pickup truck with a single person.

If someone had used a key to enter Jennifer’s condo prior to her arrival, it would not have been noticed since the dead bolt was not lockable from the outside.

I am still working on the “black box” concept with the chevy. I am not convinced that data about the cars operation was not available with the proper equipment. Checking with some auto people to rule it in or out. I do know that the operational data includes the engine, transmission, brakes, turn signals, speedometer, odometer and other data. With this data and Google maps, one could learn the locations the vehicle traveled by doing some careful analysis.

BUT the thing I don’t get is…..her briefcase was missing. If she was going out at 10:00 at night, why would she need to take that w/ her?

It may have been in the car already, or because she packed her pocketbook and was keeping her wallet, toiletries and whatever you would normally keep in your purse in there earlier in the day.

Her pocketbook was found in the duffel bag from her trip on the floor, likely so she could just carry it on.

    B

  30. susanm says:

if her apartment was entered after the crime ,then what might explain the mailbox key in the console, could be that, the perp removes her condo key from the keyring before giving the key to car dropper, and the mailbox key is in front and gets removed also.

  31. Delilah says:

Just a thought – could her battery have been removed by HER, as a “screw you” to her boyfriend (as they had an ‘argument’) prior…
probably too out there, I know she simply could have just shut her phone off.
Also – when will we know where the last ping was??? And why has this not been released to public??

  32. Lauren- “I hope they checked her bed for hairs and her vacuum cleaner…. Even the dumpsters in her complex for discarded trash. ***Unfortunately, Jenn’s condo was not processed and therefore her bed was not checked for her hairs nor her vacuum cleaner. I don’t believe the dumpsters in her condo complex (Mosaic at Millenia) was checked either. I do recall them checking the dumpster at Huntington on the Green.

If you “tineye” the cricket picture you can see the original, which does not make the shoes look as prominent. The shoes on the person of interest do look weirdly big to me so maybe you are on to something there. The person is twisted a little too I think so we are seeing more of his/her back than one thinks which makes him/her look more hunchbacked than he/she really is. The main distinguishin feature of cricket uniforms is the long half-sleeve.

I’m anxious to hear your next update. I still don’t understand what would have motivated a search last month working off a lead that Jennifer was seen in a truck with two men. The Orlando police have had six years to get it right. I sure don’t see Jennifer Kesse taking off in a truck with two men after she’s been away on vacation, has yet to finish unpacking, settling in and has to get to sleep and ready for work the following day. Whose decision was that? I would think anyone who has read anything about Jenn and her case would know better?

  37. Cindy says:

My theory was that she decided to run her brother’s cell phone to the nearest shipping store and on her way out was either followed to a store packing lot or accosted right there in her own parking lot. We know that her brother never received his phone so it was never shipped. The thought that she had several outfits laid out on the bed demonstrates how important the upcoming meeting was to her and she wanted to look perfect.

  38. A Texas Grandfather says:

Got my answer to the “black box” question. Data is captured in that model of car. However, it is only stored for the last minute of the vehicles operation. It is like an endless loop that is written over and over, a minute at a time. Data would be kept if the vehicle were involved in an accident.

So much for my idea of finding a way to track a vehicles movement without a true “black box”. Vehicles are approaching a drive by wire just like an airplane. The information will be stored for a longer time when this happens. We are about two years away from vehicles being delivered with this capability which would include front wheel turn angles.

My concern in reading blink’s piece is that, if the evidence was not properly collected or persevered six years ago as it sounds like it wasn’t, how could they ever mount a successful prosecution unless someone confesses to a role in it.

Your concern is not unfounded. With the acquittal of Cword in this jurisdiction I can tell you it is on all of our minds working this case.

Finding Jennifer is the priority. It is my belief that doing so will allow for a successful prosecution, but recovering her is our primary task.

However, sometimes the white hat crew gets lucky too. We may have yet to uncover the crime scene and I believe enough folks know something about her disappearance.

    Keep the faith.

Me: the purse thing just doesn’t make sense to me bc she went right to work from Rob’s. Wouldn’t she want her purse with her at work rather than leaving it in the car in her duffel? It doesn’t make sense to me. What I’m leaning toward is that she had a bunch of stuff to bring in from her car once she got home from work, so maybe she minimized the bulk items by combining them for easier carry. The DVD player was left strapped into her car. Her car charger left wrapped around her gear shift. Both could be written off as a safety concern since they could both become projectiles if involved in an accident, however if ALL of her seatbelts weren’t fastened then there goes that theory. She could have placed the DVD player in her trunk. Why would she keep all her stuff in her car when she was working? That’s something else that’s bugging me. Are police 100% positive that she didn’t stop home real quick just to drop some stuff off? Wait a sec, she did tell her parents she hadn’t been home yet right? When she was on the phone with them on her way him from work? I’m just not seeing her keeping her purse in her duffle bc I know I’d want my purse with me while at work. Long weekend gets away, long drive from Rob’s to work, had to leave extra early in the morning, etc – so wouldn’t she want her purse with her to touch up makeup, keep her cell, keys, etc? I also don’t think she’s the one that laid her clothes out on her bed. Also, did I read it from you or somewhere else that the other door to the bathroom was shut? That’s weird. She’s single & alone. If it were me I’d s s s with all the doors to the br open & the radio blasting lol. Did you ever find out who her cell carrier was at the time? I maintain that I really think she was abducted when she went out to her car to retrieve the rest of her things, possible to get her new DVD player from Rob so she could hook it up real quick. All she wanted to do was go to bed. She was tired is what she said to Rob.

That is what I am saying, she had the contents of her purse in her brief so she did not have to unpack the duffel.

Right Blink, I get what you’re saying. Problem is wouldn’t she have a laptop & papers in there? Makeup & legal docs don’t mix. I’m still thinking something’s up. Can’t help it. Nothing adds up. What was the contents of her trunk? Her parents said she kept an immaculate home BUT she was messy in the bathroom & her car. I’m curious about her trunk.

nothing in the trunk. I disagree on the brief, she came from Robs with a packed pocketbook, she definitely had her brief at the office and left with it. Plenty of space for a few cosmetics and wallet.
She had a briefcase, duffel, and 4 bottles of rum to hump to her condo from the car that we know of.

two bathroom doors, which one was shut?, was it not her usual practice to keep one door shut? ,was that the shut door?, did logan & friends notice if it was shut when they arrived? did they shut it when they left? why would the perp need to go to her condo, because they had been there? or just wanted it to look like she had made it home? seems like a risk? did johnny ask her “out” before or after adam emailed “you look nice today” ,i’m not getting a love connection, from johnny,no texts,no emails, she never mentioned him to her girlfriends?they laughed together in the hall once, he asked her “out”,and they went to lunch, and he got her name in a santa draw, and bought her an ornament, that’s it,if there was more wouldnt she have mentioned it to someone?not that i am saying his actions and circumstances arent questionable ,i am not getting enough romantic pursuit, for an unrequited build-up,snapped suddenly?surely exes do tell.

  46. susanm says:

ok ,the snapped suddenly at an officer ending up arrested is a do tell.

sorry , i’m hogging, could it be that maybe the conversation with rob wasnt as sing song as she expected , so she got a wild hair ,and went out. taking her brief case instead of taking the time to unpack her purse means maybe someone was there so she just grabbed the brief case and hurried ,shut the bathroom door to their view as she changed.maybe she agreed to drive or meet them there.maybe someone showed up drunk hoping to talk her into letting them crash on couch, and she instead offered a ride home,on the ride they pulled a hataway, and had a sexual rejection temporal lobe burst, she makes it out of her car ,he uses his for carriage.is accounts dept invited to deal signing celebrations? was the deal for decoteau, a big deal, for someone? ,celebration? or do those happen the next night after the deal is signed/ sorry someone asked for scenarios.

@ ode, i am confused about that too. i thought it was a given that the last conversation was @ 9:57 from her landline. read that here, and in an early interview by rob.

also was’t sure about the “but”… lol just know, one time, my boss but – t dialed me, lol he and a coworker were in the car in front of me and the call came in. it comes over my radio. he was oblivious to the call. i kept saying, hellooooo… he never heard me. but i heard their entire conversation until we got to the restaurant. ( it was only a minute so by the time i figured he really didn’t know, we were there )

but…. if jen’s call was a but t dial ( confused about teh landline too, unless they are not sure now if the last call was from her landline or cell )… wouldn’t someone have heard what was going on on her end? if rob answered, he would have heard, and if it went to voicemail, wouldn’t it have kept recording until someone noticed ? it sounds like the 9:57 call was just brief and nothing unusual was happening. not a but t dial? sorry, i’m just confused on this.

also – im catching up on this case. last night i watched the 3 part video from 48 hours. they showed pics of jenn’s condo. these pics must have been taken after the kesse’s were there for awhile, rather than when they walked in? because i noticed some things i didn’t expect.

for one, the table was NOT set, as has been recently discussed that it was. but the clothes on the bed – i envisioned several outfits all laid out, as if trying to decide what goes with what. in the pic, it looks like just a few shirts, folded like they would be in a suitcase or on a shelf, piled on top of each other.

and last, there was a pic of the duffle in the hall. it was opened, and there is something brown at the top. i thought maybe that could have been her purse? because there is another pic on the site of her purse. i know it’s been said they did not realize her purse was in there until they got it back.

just confused about some things, so i will shut up and read for awhile, lol

I cant get anyone to budge on the 9:57 from her landline, it is just my nature to follow my hinky.
