Casey/Caylee Anthony Case : Death Penalty Back On
Orlando, FL- Late this afternoon, the State’s Attorney’s Office notified Jose Baez, attorney for tot mom Casey Anthony, they intend to seek the death penalty. Prior to Caylee Marie Anthony’s remains found on December 11. 2008, the state had decided not to seek the death penalty 6 days earlier. In the state of Florida, the legal aggravating circumstances that would apply in this case would be that the murder was cruel and atrocious and cold, calculated and premeditated.Â

The decision of the prosecution to reverse it’s original stance in their murder indictment against Casey Anthony for the death of her 34 month old daughter Caylee, is the latest in what seemed like rapid fire developments over the Holiday weekend. Jose Baez is not a death penalty qualified attorney and he cannot defend this case without one.
On Friday afternoon, Jose Baez filed a motion to subpoena the phone records and similar provider records of the members of the Anthony family, Dominick Casey, Jim Hoover, Roy Kronk, Amy Huzienga, Jesse Grund and Keith Williams. It is widely believed this information is exactly what Jose Baez was attemtpting to secure in his ex parte motion to Judge Stan Strickland, which consequently, may have gotten Baez his most recent bar complaint. A source close to the case has confirmed to Blink on Crime that this motion is much more about accessing ping records for these individuals than the actual records, which cannot be requested without a subpoena. (editors note: I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Baez is going to need a bigger bus for the pileup if you catch my drift..)

If Lady Oprah is not careful, that big O may end up standing for obsolete. It was revealed today that George and Cindy Anthony will be appearing on her show this May. As Oprah is not known for her investigative prowess or criminal case coverage, one has to assume this will turn into the crab- puff piece and pity party the A’s are intending.Â

Last Thursday, April 9, George and Cindy sat down for a chit chat with Team Morgan. Well, not exactly. They tag-team glared, objected as to relevance and amazingly seemed to avoid lock jaw in what was apparently a very warm conference room. In both interviews, George and Cindy refused to answer several questions on what seemed to be the “indignation to our controlled spin” objection. In this proceeding, the only viable objection on behalf of their attorney, Brad Conway, is privlege. As their IS NO CURRENT OR PENDING CHARGES against these two, not even that boat will float. Expect John Morgan and Co. to file a motion to compel the Anthony’s to return to the suspended deposition. With any luck they will repeat this behavior and one or both of them will spend the night in the pokey in contempt just for the principle to the proceeding. Normally I provide you with all the necesary files to access the video/audio to which I am referring; allow me to save you the throbbing headache and new profane vocabulary conjunctions that have since become an occupational hazard for me in this case, see below.
The Hi-lights: George was a deputy. Deputy George was never a detective, but he is a very bad speller and likes to ask himself his own questions out loud. For the first time ever I had a ping of respect for him when he shouted at Cindy to ..”SHUT UP…SHUT UP…”. He has a very poor memory and apparently has never watched any of the gazillion statements recorded and released to the public that any pre-LSAT clerk could draft an impeachment for. Yeesh.
Cindy, with a day off from sh*t house rat but still reigning mayor of crazy town, wore her finest shamrock -hued sweater and matching belt. She is out of anti- perspirant. While blatantly refusing to answer the simplest of questions, she attempts the “I am going to annoy the living snot out of you until you call Uncle” ploy. It failed. Cindy has similar memory disorder to George. John Morgan finds Attorney Dell in the men’s room with a makeshift shank about to do himself in, Morgan takes over questioning. I heart-heart him. 
Response from the Frequent Non- Responder
In reports released Friday, Richard Cain, the deputy that responded to the call placed by Roy Kronk on August 13th to Suburban Drive, was terminated from his duties. Not if he can help it. Mr. Cain has apparently recovered from lack of responding and is now more responsive; albeit in matters about him. Cain is refusing his termination for cause and appealing the decision.

Blink, I know you’re busy — and doing a great job in these cases — but what is work product privilege? I’m not as familiar with civil depos. If you don’t have time to answer, no problem.
It is different in civil and criminal cases, but in essence is the communication between attorney and client, it can cover different scopes, not necessarily the matter at hand. It is subjective as well. That’s my quick answer

Blink, thank you for pasting a comment box for the lastest on the Anthony case. I as so many others have been following this bizare story for months.
I truly believe that Casey who seems to have a thing for cops (dating history) may have been told stories utilizing simular tactics i.e. lies, confusion, not reporting crime, ect. to out smart the police. She definately appears to speak the language during her interigation with officers (very controlling). She has an extremely narcistic personality and after watching this last episode with the parents I can definately see where she gets it.
In addition, I have always found it strange how she refers to Zanny as a Nanny. Most young girls say baby sitter. It is not as if she comes from a wealthy family, these people appear to have a modest lifestyle and she had no job or money.
I certainly hope that when these past boyfriends were interigated they asked about their “pillow talk”. May find something there.
I just want to stand up and scream “WHAT ABOUT JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE”!!!! The wearing of green Cindy, couldn’t have been more obvious….more obvious, poor George has never been to any follow-up sessions with a medical professional since his suicide attempt. George, I know you hate these attorneys…but I do believe you are sick of your wife’s bullying and control attempts (SHUT UP-SHUT UP). However….do you ever stop to think George, that one person created all of this pain, heartache, and destruction among the still-living…..that being your daughter?
I can guarantee you that nobody in the family has EVER viewed Caylee’s remains since she was found…nor has anyone ever sat down with them and showed them a video of the stages of decomposition. It would be enough to make them vomit, break down and cry, and truly begin to understand what this case is all about!! Ever since Casey refused to meet with her family while in jail….they have all tripped over each other trying to play footsie with their daughter!! All the while little Caylee didn’t have any feet left!
I find myself saying words I didn’t know were in my vocabulary, but ever since this deposition I didn’t know whether to throw up first or run outside and scream! Poor Caylee…I am sure she trusted in her family to do right by her in life and her death. Blink–You do a great job. I happen to think this death penalty about-face is a ploy to get a plea deal. I agree with that because it would save a lot of time and the citizens of Florida a lot of money. What do you think about it?

I think the State does not deal in ploy’s in a capital case, not this one anyway. I think Casey is out of options and if they dont proffer a plea I can gurantee you Casey will implicate Lee and/or Cindy. This attorney has at least 3 bar complaints pending, a member of the def team with a pening bar complaint, and he is not dp qualified=train wreck.

I, for one, would LOVE to see them blame it on Cindy. Just so that Cindy suffers through that. We know it would never fly but just to see Cindy being accused by the very Daughter she has been defending while knowing she is a lying murderer. its called KARMA and its their turn. I will never understand why these “loving” grandparents never once searched themselves for the Zanny and if this one is not the Zanny, why aren’t they still looking? Even before July 15th, Sindy says she had phone numbers and not once called the nanny? This is perhaps the main reason I think they would lie about what day it is.

Hi Sister; you must have missed it in the depo – Cindy said they ARE still looking. I think they’re still looking the same way Casey was looking from June 16 through July 15.
According to George there are 1000 Zenaida Gonzales’! Wow! Looking into that could keep him busy for a long time. But, alas, George’s new calling is reacing out to other parents of missing children; because he CARES.
I don’t doubt that he cares, but his RAGE overwhelms all else. He was down in Heighlee Cumming’s neighborhood sharing his “caring and understanding” in February. Frankly, in video of that visit George was spitting mad, throwing the same tantram he’s been in for the past eight months. He “helped” the Cummings by telling them that Law Enforcement does not do everything possible to find missing kids.
Duck tape post mortem? What?. The only thing I can think of is maggots start in the eyes and mouth. Keith was on Nancy tonight and NG kept saying he searched the site body was found. I thought from his interview he was searching on the right side of the road. Caylee remains found on the left side of road. Will Keith and DC be witness for the Defense cause they didn’t find a body? Think Anthonys will be pitching The Caylee Marie Foundation on Oprah. Heard Congressman in FL is ear marking 1/2 million for the Foundation. Don’t know his name yet. The Anthonys will never have to work again living off the donations of their dead grand daughter. Anthonys are in the Defense corner calling LE liars in deposition. Poor Caylee no voice from her grandparents for her, their out seeking the gold ring on the merry go round. How dare you call my granddaughter remains. Maybe out of left field, but has anyone considered the possibility that George was Caylee’s biological father? That might explain why Casey hated her mom so much, (for not protecting her), why George attempted suicide and what secret Lee will never tell…It might also shed some light into why the family is so dysfunctional.
I always believed that Casey would throw Cindy under the bus no matter. You can plainly see Cindys rage. Deposition is good example. No argument with her would be fair. I was always thinking they would use the defense that Casey was belittled severly and lacked any good judgement or self esteem. Hoovers discriptions of Cindy beating the crosses with the bat and screaming obsenities. I do believe that Cindy choked Casey. Cindy was the only one who threatened Caseys life. Casey wasn’t protecting her family she was protecting herself from Cindy.
I believe that when KC throws Cindy under the bus, Cindy will go right along with it just to get her off. That’s how demented I believe Cindy is.

Don’t you think Nancy Grace would have the Anthony’s on her show if they’d come? The show’s ratings would benefit from it and Ms. Grace is in the news business. Why castigate Oprah for landing them? It the business that both she and Grace are in. The way to combat this folks is NOT TO WATCH their shows.
I had been watching Nancy Grace fairly often, but when she started criticizing family members of abducted children for being publicity hounds I stopped. What the hell does she think she’s doing on her show on a nightly basis? She tries to project the image of avenging angel, fighting for innocent victims. But if she was truly interested in doing that, she’d go back to being a prosecutor, not a TV show host. She’s doing her nightly gig to make money off the misery of others. She whips herself and guests up into a frenzy of righteous indignation all for ratings.
She takes one tiny morsel of news and spins and spins and spins it into a whole hour show. Take about hype. Gawd!
I am glad the prosecutors have reversed their decision and will be seeking the death penalty against Casey Anthony. She absolutely deserves it. What a monster this woman is. I can’t believe there are such animals in our midst. The same can be said for Melissa Huckaby. When did women start becoming cold-blooded killers in such numbers? Must be the drug culture.

Okay, I went back through and read every word and every comment and I do not understand about the duct tape. I could not listen to the depositions because… well, everybody knows why…did G or C say something about the duct tape. Did LE make a duct tape statement that I missed? Was it put on pre or post mortem, and does anyone really know? and BY involving himself in this Anthony case, Keith Williams may be waking up with shit house rat bites too.

Cindy, George and Lee’s fingerprints were NOT found on the duct tape.
It is my opinion, and verified by a source of mine, that the duct tape was applied post mortem, and either way forensically, they will be able to tell, imo. Same source has told me there are partial prints of Casey’s on the tape.

Oprah, obviously has not done her homework on this case or she would never submit to having the A’s on her show. I think we all need to write Oprah and educate her on the facts of the case. She would never have the parents of an alledged baby murderer on her show. I think the A’s must have given her producer some of shinola about the case.

In the Casey Anthony case, do you think that she made up a joke for Caylee being with “Zani the Nanny” because she was really just drugging her with Xanax (which can potentially cause difficulty breathing and severe drowsiness, which may be life-threatening)and leaving her in her trunk? Xanax is commonly misspelled as “Zanix”. That would explain the tape, as if she woke up prematurely, she didn’t want the baby to make any sounds.

I also think the duct tape was post mortem (unless they can pull Caylee’s fingerprints to prove she was alive at the time it was applied). Which doesn’t matter in the least. An elaborate “kidnapping” coverup shows a predilection for premeditation. Every thing these idiots did to obfuscate the truth will backfire at the trial. None of them can maintain decent behavior or demeanor for five minutes without all their vile hostility seeping through.
What I am cloudy on is if Keith replaced the bag of animals before Cain saw it. When did Cain make that statement about the bag looking like it had been undisturbed because of the plants growing through it? If he said that after the remains were discovered, then it sounds like he picked up the phrase from the forensic botanist or something.

The state is in a position where it WILL NOT offer a plea deal, in my opinion.
First, Casey Anthony included a statement along with her signature denying any financial conflict of interest -w-Baez, that (paraphrased) says ” the State is mad because I won’t take a plea deal”. Then according to clickorlando today, Baez says, “If they think that this is going to make her plea, they’re sadly mistaken. They’ve been trying to intimidate Casey Anthony from day 1 and it didn’t work then, and it’s not going to work now.” If a plea is to happen, at this point forward, Baez or the lead attorney will have to ask for it. Aside from what everyone thinks about Baez, he is not doing a service to Casey in asserting this position so early, before he has seen all of the evidence in the case. But Casey will not let him consider a plea.
In terms of this Baez statement, “She’s aware of the forces that are out to get her,” I don’t see how he can reasonable weave a wide ranging conspiracy web that encompasses the Anthony’s, Casey’s friends, the police and the state. She was never an important public powerful figure that all of these entities might have benefited by engineering her demise, or could have even reasonably cooperated (based on the personalities involved) to pull it all off to protect one of them. It will be too fantastical for a jury to swallow.
I think that he will try to develop a picture of bumbling keystone cops (using *Cain as the groundwork), political aspirations- as in Lamar, and detectives not looking for the phantom nanny, but focusing solely on Casey in a rush to judgment ala OJ Simpson. He’ll try to insist on some type of daisy chain cover-up, (Padilla-ish). Then he will try to connect Casey’s friends to movements that create reasonable doubt; illustrating , in his theory, where the investigation went off track, or where it should have gone. If the police or investigators know of some true connection between Kronk and anyone at the jail (etal), the state will have to put that forth first, or risk some reasonable doubt.
I think that he will not go after the Anthonys, unless desperate in the penalty phase, should there be one. Then he will approach the ‘horrible’ circumstances of Casey’s life and upbringing. I know that your thoughts may be different. Do you believe that he will make an attempt to directly imply that the crime was actually committed by the Anthonys?
**Aside/He may have an odd ally in Cain, because if fired, Cain may be bitter and disgruntled with the force.
I want to know if you have any information about Zenaida Rodriquez who was arrested on mortgage fraud and mairjuana growhouse charges in ther Miami area. I would like to see a physical description or photo. Zenaida Fernandez Rodriquez is the name CA gives in her first FBI interview at aprroximately 23 minutes into the video. I have tried numerous times to find a description of this person and have been unable to do so, but I thought maybe, since you have all the connections, would be able to obtain it. Just a thought. Blink, I come to your site every day and enjoy the read. Don’t you think it was really crazy that George and Cindy in their depos absolutely glorified the woman who they say killed their granddaughter (tall, thin, straight teeth, a “10″), while in the same breath disrespected and denegrated the Zenaida Gonzales who was sitting in front of them (You honey are cute, but you are no “10″). This tells me that they do not believe that there is a ZG the Nanny.
Also, I do not believe that Kronk & Cronies, the 2 PIs and Williams just showed up by a fluke near or where Caylee’s body was found. Leonard P often stated that they were at different areas near the site. Since it is likely that the defense is going to claim that they body was moved, I think it is important for everyone see a map with dots along that street where they hit.
I once sent an email to Leonard and asked if he could do one and did not get an answer.

You cannot ID a 34 mo. old child based on looks. I have 2 kids, neither of them looked like me at that age and only one does now, the other never will, but does act like me in many ways. I digress. JP family are multi-millionaires in PR. Trust me when I tell you, if Caylee was related to JP, Casey would never have had to work. Except, she met him through Ricardo, so it is an impossibility any way.

Blink i never ment to push hot buttons. My theroy has been the tape was place to keep the child quiet if she awoke from sedation. The other thought I had was that if Caylee was placed in the trunk after death without the tape a reason for applying it could have been that Maggots where coming out of the mouth. Not a pretty site but it does happen first. The other reason for the tape post mortem would be to disguise it as a kidnapping. When a person dies the jaw muscles relax and the jaw will always drop open. When preparing a body gauge is actually used to close the jaw before rigor ensues. If the deceased has dentures they are put back in the mouth and jaw is secured in a closed position. Morticains have to suture lips closed to prevent mouth from opening. I did read the interview and was confused by the miss representation of NG’s of him on her show. I don’t know who will be a wittness for the Defense but I am only considering the ones who say they did not see a body. Cain, DC, KW, Hoover. Thats four against one RK. The four may be called by the defense to state just that to prove Cindys lame theory that the body was placed there by someone else. Perhaps JB is looking for pings of their scapegoats to place them in that area when Casey was incarcerated. It would be interesting to find out if he is asking for phone information from July 15 to Dec. 11th. I remenber JG saying he had a route in that area. Don’t know what that meant if it was part of his job or what. I think that they are trying to prove that Zanny was a friend just like Cindy told the FBI and in the Deposition. Casey told Cindy the picture with the drums was Zannys apt and it was acutally where Morales and Amy lived. I don’t believe any of the scapegoat information. But I am sure the Defense will try to use all of it to provoke doubt in the jury. Was Caylee strangled by Casey after Cindy choked Casey? I did not know that they could prove when the tape was place, but it makes perfect sense that they could the way the jaw muscles relax after death.

hi, been following case, cindy emailed on july 2 :my caylee is missing? something is so wrong with that and george says casey and caylee left around 1:00ish on june 16 th but the cell pings say she was at anthony home til 4:00ish? something wrong there too are there cell pings backing george up that she left 1:00ish? and has anyone tried dmv records for samantha gonzales or any of the other zenaida family names casey mention or even erica gonzales even though i believe casey is 99.9999% quilty there is something not right about cindy and her story even from before her calling the police could cindy have accidently done it and casey drove off with the body unsuspectingly
