Tracy Ocasio Case: Breaking Developments Cast Doubts on Hataway – Explores Hutto Circle
Ocoee, FL– Tracy Ocasio has been missing since May 27th following an 
evening at the Florida Tap Room where she was last seen with person of interest James “Jimmy” Hataway. In the initial days of the investigation, there were multiple reports that Hataway was a suspect in Ocasio’s disappearance, a suspect in the disappearance of Apopka man Onda “Chris” George,and as many as 5 other assaults on women.
To date, only one of those allegations has resulted in new charges against Hataway. In Seminole County, Hataway is facing charges for his alleged assault against Rachel Clarke, 23, for a Casselberry, FL incident last August. 
Hataway is charged with Burglary of a conveyance with a battery, robbery, false imprisonment and battery. Uncovered exclusively at blinkoncrime.com, there is new inside information on this pending case. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, Jimmy Hataways’ closest friend told blinkoncrime police actually entered the residence he shared with Hataway shortly after the incident and cuffed him, thinking he was Jimmy. Once it was determined he was not and that he did not know his immediate whereabouts, police left the home.
Although they continued to reside in the same location for another 2 1/2 months and police had Hataways cell phone number, police never contacted Jimmy Hataway about the alleged incident. They did not interview the roommate either. In the almost 10 months following the alleged battery against Rachel Clarke, investigators never interviewed the suspect in a case which now carries a bond of $250K and a lengthy prison stint if convicted.
Other than Jimmy and Ms. Clarke, there is only one other known witness in this case whom LE also elected not to interview until after Hataway was arrested on the paraphanalia charge in Orange County. Where did they find this prospective witness almost 10 months later? Across the Pod from Jimmy Hataway in the Seminole County Jail; he is attempting to cut a deal to get out of charges stemming from his chronic crack cocaine addiction.
April 15 The Florida Tap Room Bar
In the early morning hours of April 15, 2009, Paul Hutto was arrested on a battery charge for knocking Tracy Ocasio to the ground during an altercation outside the bar. Blinkoncrime was able to confirm this through Orlando Police Department, however, a request for the actual incident report has been denied thus far pending release from the State’s Attorneys office. Also, the charge does not appear on Hutto’s record.
How is it that the man gets arrested, spends the night in jail, and as of today there is no charges filed in the incident? If there are no charges pending, how is that not subject to public information requests? 
Sources inside the investigation have confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that the woman involved in the confrontation resulting in Tracy Ocasio dumping her drink on her head, is Lori “Lo Lo” Branic, pictured in the middle with her “lollies” Cheryl Doan and Alicia Hutto.
Lo Lo is the wife of Paul Branic, sentenced on April 27th, currently incarcerated in Lake County since May 21st on a driving with a revoked/suspended license charge and violation of probation. Interestingly, Paul Branic was detained by the Bay County Sheriffs Office on 5/26/09 following a plea deal conference call the same day before returning to Lake County to serve out his sentence.
Was Branic with his wife the evening of 4/15? Is it a complete coincidence that Tracy dumps a drink on his wifes head and on the eve of the day he cops a plea deal Tracy Ocasio goes missing? There were several myspace messages on Jeremiah Huttos myspace back and forth between him and Lo Lo where she finally tells him in the early evening of 5/26/09 “no more texting,lol ” that have since been deleted.
Holy Hutto Houdini
Not all of the Hutto family has the Houdini gene, apparently, there are a few that are not have fared as well as their kin. In fact, you can find a few on Jeremiah Huttos myspace page with pride.
Brothers Paul and Jeremiah however, seem to have the escape trick down. 
Jeremiahs battery conviction was for the brutal beating of Erica Henry, an Ocoee Mother of 2. I was contacted anonymously by a family member of hers and told that it was not the first or last time Ms. Henry was assaulted by “Jbizzle” or the last. Ms. Henry died on April 27th, 2008. At press time, efforts to request Ms. Henrys death certificate as to cause of death have not been returned.
Sources inside the investigation into the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio have confirmed to blinkoncrime.com that Jeremiah and Paul Hutto were cleared immediately by detectives after only their initial interview although they were also at the Florida Tap Room and then Gators the evening Tracy went missing.
Joe and Liz Ocasio, Tracy’s parents, were told by detectives that they were cleared of any involvement because of how angry they got in response to detectives questions. Wait for It… Neither Hutto brother was asked to take a polygraph or provide a DNA sample. None of their homes and properties have been searched although police have been relying on Paul Hutto to show them sites where he worked with Jimmy. 
As discovered exclusively at blinkoncrime.com, there was an abandoned 911 call at approximately 6:04 PM the day Tracy Ocasio went missing, from the Hutto home at 1002 Wyoming Court. This call follows a shots fired call in the area of Cullens Ct at approximately 5:43PM. To date, no information has been released about either call, or it’s possible connection to the Ocasio case.
I have interviewed over a dozen known associates, self proclaimed confidential police informants, and some of Jimmy Hataway’s closest friends that have known him, lived with him, and yes, in some instances been in trouble with him throughout his life. Every single source told me the same thing– If Jimmy had any involvement, of if he knows anything at all, you need to talk to his brother, he would tell him anything, and be his first call. I have. I Support LE who use their positions and authority to enforce the laws, keep peace and pursue justice. I just hope those on the ocoee force who have these traits will stand up to those who lack them. Tracy and her family deserve to know what happened.

In listening to the radio broadcast, you mentioned Paul Hutto’s charges from the April 15th incident are being ‘reviewed’ or held at the state attorney’s office. Above You mention there are no charges pending. 1) Is this Orange County’s State Attorneys office (9th judicial)? 2) And if you able to expand on it….. Do you expect charges are going to be filed against Hutto? (perhaps real late like Hataway’s).
Obviously alot of this isn’t ‘normal’, but is it ‘normal’ in any case for the state attorney’s office to do the actual ‘charging’ and review, or is that in itself another anomaly?
P.S. If there is virtually ‘no record’ of this incident and arrest, given everything listed for the Hutto’s, it tends to make one wonder what else is missing from their records? y’know?

My prayers go out to this family. While I was researching this case tonight, I came across two white men, a little younger than Tracy, with the last name of Ocasio. They are both incarcerated on long sentences for violent crimes. Do you know if either of them could be related to Tracy? Sorry about the sensitive question but it seems like an important question to ask since they may have violent associates out of prison.

Though it is a very sad situation that is at hand,I feel that the concerned family and public are spinning their wheels-waiting on the police department to make their next move.
As a community we should unite and search ourselves and put aside

Yes, I am vigilant about my safety, as any true crime writer/investigator is. There are also benefits that come with my “real life”. In this case, there are more than a few locals I feel have my back- honestly if it weren’t for them, this case dies on the vine, imo. That is unacceptable to me. This woman, her family, deserve the dignity and grace to bring their child home.
That said, I primarily focus on cases I feel my team or network can have an immediate impact. I have a caseload that I am already having difficulty managing, and I am going to be featuring a new case shortly that will pretty much rule my work for a while. While horrific, the grave issues in Alsip, are not what I would term the best use of my or my team’s skills.
I sincerely hope there is a lot more going on with all branches of Florida law enforcement to find Tracy Ocasio and to apprehended those responsible for her disappearance. The 911 hang up & shots fired calls on the night of her abduction cannot possibly be a coincidence. I would hope someone investigating this crime is working this angle.
I would also like to see the Huttos be treated as the suspects they surely are, instead of the “helpful friends” they’ve been handled as thus far. Law enforcement should be aware they’re being asked to do their very best work on this case. Too many innocent victims go missing without a trace in the Orlando metro area.
Someone in authority should be looking for ways to improve their investigative skills and case resolution percentage. Otherwise, how many more Tracy Ocasios, Jennifer Kesses, Hayleigh Cummings, etc. are there going to be?

I find it incredible there would be no other video camera locations which may have captured Tracy’s car that night. Perhaps LE just isn’t releasing the info, but I hope someone is looking at all the potential places in that area where there are camera’s, even those not so obvious.
I completely agree, why put out the pic of her car following pings, there is several possibilities for footage- Has it been pulled? If they knew 100% where she was based on pings/car, why would they have needed to do that? Lastly, if I see one more person speculate about her cell (sorry not directed at you or even any poster here).. In some of the Tap footage, you can actually see her holding her cell and looking at it in her left hand. Er Go.. not unusual for her to not carry a pocketbook and put phone in pocket, which I fear is what happened to her.

If he were the jealous type he might be a POI. I am just worried as you are too that just because JH is such a creep they are not looking at others that might have motives.

Thank you for at least mentioning Chris George in your 6/11/09 interview with Dana. I can assure you that Chris’ family believes not only that he is missing but that he is deceased.
How can you assure me of that, exactly? I am wide open for any information on the issue. I have interviewed several witnesses, two of which were with him the night in question; you do realize there is no open missing persons report on this guy, right? If you need assurance, you will need to email me privately. Publicly I will say that the Apopka Police Department has been investigating since February 11th. A missing persons report was filed shortly after Chris’ disappearance and has been updated twice. The family has been dealing with the APD, not the media.

There are 2 new perp stories emerging locally (remember when we conversed over legislation and Nevaeh B. case? and I mentioned local VSP here?). New stories: One involves a 50 yo perp who was allegedly cloroforming (yes, cloroform…….wonder how that one got my attention???) an 11 yo girl and ended up w/ 355 porn pics of this girl on his computer. Making me sick…..he’s getting a trial,(so far) but since he admitted (paraphrasing) to the pictures, and already allegedly admitted he did this because it arroused him and he attempted cloroform to make it easier …..I’m not sure what’s left to prove…..(no words or acromyms worthy enough, ISY ‘kwim)
The other a 30+ yo National Guard who allegedly was ‘having a relationship’ w/ a 13 yo before he shipped out to Iraq. (yes that’s a really sorry story too). I plan to attend court hearings as a ‘silent’ witness to these proceedings. I intend to just witness the system for now. Very sensitive situations with unnamed youths involved. (no causing more pain by insensitivity to victims). However, I anticipate from experience the local media will barely cover it, and I fear it will get swept under the rug while they get slaps on the wrists.
Not to disrespect our LE; I’m sure it disgusts them as well, but I already see a need to bring awareness and attention to this w/o insulting LE, or hurting the victims. This will barely see the light of day in our papers. The current social focus, locally (as many places) is busting possible DUI’s at .07 and the scandals of our local school boards (if this lowered my taxes…I might think it more worthy). There is not enough in your face reality of how these cases are handled. Burying head in sand is easier…..

Riddle, I applaud you for getting involved in these deplorable cases. I don’t understand how our courts give chance after chance and break after break to pedophiles, especially since this criminal behavior is not rehabilitative.
I agree we must support law enforcement, especially police officers. They’re in constant mortal danger dealing with the criminal class, as well as underpaid, overworked and disrespected. Society is fortunate there are men and women willing to take the job. I wouldn’t be a cop no matter what the recompense.
Having said that though, why are so many of the recent “high profile” cases happening in Florida? Is there something wrong with Florida’s law enforcement and judicial systems which create an environment for criminality to flourish? Or are these cases receiving more scrutiny & publicity than crimes in other states?

I have written on other articles and my immediate reaction to Jimmy was NO WAY, because I knew him so well and everyone made him into a monster because of his criminal history.
I can’t say for sure if he’s innocent, he should be investigated because you never know and he was last seen with her. However, I cannot believe that LE have pinned Jimmy down as the only suspect when he’s been cooperative and let other should be POI’s go uninvestigated because they became irate when questioned?! Have they heard of the concept of defensive behavior? Unbelievable.
As far as Jimmy’s “brother” Colt, they are not related, as Blink knows. While I look forward to the new interview, and believe that Jimmy probably would call Colt first, I must admit, I take everything Colt says with a HUGE grain of salt.

There is another site, whose blogs are under topix.com in which another ex of Hataway posted a few days ago. This girl said that she knows that Hataway can be cruel and dangerous. She, as well as post #39 are lucky ones, that did not get hurt by Hataway. I also believe post # 39 comment about Colt.
Although there are conflicting opinions of James Hataway, he almost certainly is involved in this crime. There are several factors; the current charges pending as a result of his assault and attempted murder of Rachel Clarke, his drug abuse and criminal record, plus, he was with Tracy Ocasio the night she vanished. He is also friends with the other suspects. He has to know what happened to Tracy, at the very least.
Fair, he may be, I cant say for certain yet. However, there is Z E R O evidence to indicate that, and in reality, more exculpatory evidence. It is my understanding he has given detectives his opinion of what may have happened to her, and the rest is all here in black and white.
BTW, he was moved to Orange County Jail, does that tell anyone anything??

Tracy’s missing date is incorrect, he is NOT back in OC on “drug” charges and they repeated the paragraphs twice. One of the many things that I don’t understand about Jimmy Hataway is…what is the benefit in remaining silent? If he didn’t commit homicide, what exactly is he covering up? In Chris George’s case it’s pretty apparent that he is not responsible for his death but due to the fact that he was with him the last hours of his life, it’s not a big leap to think that he knows something that could unlock this case.
How many of us ever personally know one person that goes missing? The group of friends/acquaintances that Jimmy, Chris and Tracy were connected with know of two in a 15 week period. Someone knows something…this is not just a coincidence and I believe Jimmy is involved at some level. I continue to pray that the truth will surface for Chris, Tracy and of course for Jennifer whether or not her case is connected to these.

He was interviewed by Police re: Chris and told them what he knew. You do realize he was not even there with Chris when he ran out of the truck into the woods, right? I am not saying this because someone told me their opinion, I am saying this because it is a fact. I can also tell you Apopka PD has discounted him as a suspect for that, but you’ll notice while they were quick to point the finger at him, they are not so quick to exclude him now that they have evidence of an exculpatory nature.
I dont disagree that overall this group is train wreck, but it has BEEN a trainwreck. The answer to finding Tracy and Chris (if indeed he is missing by nefarious means) is to figure out how this has been going on for as long as it has undetected and unresolved.
I want to be clear, I do not think Jimmy is an “innocent”. No way. You have 2 people that have had recent falling outs with the Huttos and 1 is missing and the other is in the clink dodging the firing squad for every case in a 5 mi radius. Where’s Kojak?

I am just blown away at the complete and utter ignorance of the Florida judicial system. It seems like everytime I turn around there is another unsolved murder. I swear our federal government must be stuck on stupid. I love to watch alot of crime investigation shows such as first 48 and crime 360 and it just seems to me that they get their guy quickly and they do it with determination. I know I am not alone when I say that we are all alone when it comes to our safety. I feel enormous sympathy for the famililies of the victims, They are in my thoughts and I hope that one day justice will be served to the ones responsible. I also hope that justice will be served to our justice system. I mean what are they all doing over there arresting pot heads? sitting in parking lots and playing solitare on their in car computers? GIVE ME A BREAK. We pay their salaries for what? My advice to our wonderful justice system is this “Get out there and be somebody and if you cant do your job right then quit”. There are untrained volunteers that work harder at finding the truth.
If Jimmy Hataway is innocent of the murder charge here, he may owe Blink and friends a big kiss when this is all resolved. I am watching to see how it all proceeds without having much real comment. Just wanted to express my appreciation of the thought and work you all are doing. I read several Florida newspapers every day without finding one tenth of the information available here.
I’m concerned that when Hataway is sentenced regarding his current charges that the Judge will be prejudiced by what has transpired in Tracy’s case. I only hope that his “sentence(s)” fit(s) the crime(s) and not because he’s been pointed out as a POI.
Sunday they have to prosecute him first, which depending on which case your referring, is not very strong.

What I want to know is, now that all this information is out there, what is happening because of it? Has there been any information? Has LE done anything different? Does it need more publicty?
