Caylee/Casey Anthony Case Bombshell: Proof George Anthony Lied

Orlando, FL– In a bombshell released in discovery today, evidence George Anthony could not have been telling the truth about June 16th.; allegedly the last time he saw Casey and Caylee leave:

CellJune16sm

According to the Investigative Report Excerpt regarding the Cell phone ping study, Casey did not leave the Anthony home until 4:14PM on June 16th. Not the 12:50PM time he told Investigators and recounted in several media interviews. Most recently, George refused to discuss the last time he saw his granddaughter Caylee during the deposition in the civil case against his daughter, lodged by Zenaida Gonzalez.

Given the previously released computer forensics, whereby we know Casey was on the home computer on an IM chat in the morning this supports the fact she was in the home, and as the calls begin on Casey’s cell, she is leaving the residence.

SO.. Could it be George who never came home the evening of June 15th? Did Casey leave her cell phone there the evening before and come back? Impossible. She was on it.

Message to Leonard: This makes one more.. LOL.. Told You.

You know the more I read about casey’s pings, pinging etc the more PING sounds like an action word, (casey pinged my tower last night, and I sent her an im looking for some more ping action tonight) did this chick ever stop with the calls and messages?

It drives me crazy (not you, but in general) when people don’t look at the original AT&T records for information. Many people don’t realize they’re available, and many people erroneously believe that the transcribed information on Excel spreadsheets includes all the information provided by AT&T or that the transcribed information is correct and inclusive. You must be looking at a spreadsheet someone put together if you can’t see Casey’s 17:57 call on June 16.

Back in September, the SAO released 150 pages of Casey’s cell records from June 1 through July 17. To see them,

    Go to

    http://www.docstoc.com

    And then search for

    Casey+phone+log

There are six sets of records, each 25 pages long.

Nobody can hold a candle to Maura when it comes to those phone records. I loaded up the 150 page spreadsheet into excel and did some sorting too – I even built a bar graph to track some trends. But without the records leading up to June 15th it is impossible to tell if the phone usage is unusual for her. I wish I had the time to look at them more closely. I will say that the spreadsheet that has the SMS message ‘codes’ does correspond to the ones you get from myspace and facebook when you get activity on your page. Each one is a different kind. And also, some of the SMS activity is the phone company automated system sending info to her cell updating her cell phone with the number of voicemail messages she has. Also, some of the calls that she has more than a few seconds call time could be her leaving messages and not actually talking to someone live. We have no way of knowing.

I still believe that when she tried calling George at Lexus that she was put on hold and didn’t actually talk to George. She probably didn’t know his schedule and wanted to know if he was there or not. But that is my guess only. I also believe she was intending to see if Cindy was concerned enough to leave Gentiva early – and that is why she kept trying to call her on her cell phone. Again, guesses and speculation.

I have to say thanks for the great people we have on this blog who actually read and discuss facts, or at least as close to facts as we can. I wss reading another blog tonight and so much of the info they yak about is not true at all. They just make up a bunch of stuff and run with it. It really was disgusting to see how far they are off any facts presented in this case. So thanks again Blink for heading this up and presenting good theories and keeping the name calling and making sure our comments stick to the general beliefs of what happened. This other site has casey into cocaine, and that is not even close to anything that has been shown in this case. I love this site and the good people we have here and the fact that the comments here show people have read the stuff released and the comments reflect that.

What makes me ill is everytime I hear these defense attorneys claim that Casey has no previous record, and that should be taken into consideration to basically avoid the death penalty. So I suppose you need to start out small, such as ARMED ROBBERY, until you work your way up to murder in order for you to get the appropriate punishment for the crime. WHO CARES if they had a previous record or not? The fact remains, Casey MURDERED a defenseless, innocent, trusting 2 year old. I don’t care if Casey’s past crimes weren’t able to be caught by the law.

#768 westsidehudson thank you! I had actually at one time seen that but could not find the place or link to show you all..I also now recall that Casey on some blog or something (wish I had a link) told Lee to bring some booze as DAD was coming (I think for a birthday of Caylee’s)…and how AWKWARD that was going to be!? I just think that on the police call on the 24th /08 George knew something was terribly wrong at least..the autopsy report I saw at one time showed pieces of tape on the mouth area..as opposed to ‘wrapped’ around the poor skull…did those pieces come off a gas can?Would her fingerprint(s) not be on them anyways? I will try to find a link for that comment to Lee from Casey. Why does anyone think Lee was absent from the last church service (Caylee) like he never wore the Caylee badge at the memorial?? #718 Maura, poss.Casey called her phone to find it but as she dialed she saw it and hung up.?

WSH, Thanks for the list of calls made to the police from the Anthony address. I think those calls of verbal disturbance and general disturbance reported at the residence speaks loudly to the volitility (sp)in the Anthony home. Four of those calls were made in 2005, towards the end of Casey’s pregnancy. The last call in 2005, was made 5 days before Cindy’s brothers (Rick Plesea)wedding(June 4th, 2005). And the Anthonys showed up at Rick’s home/wedding with a very pregnant Casey. Of course, they denied she was pregnant when they were questioned. I believe the disturbances were related to discussions between the Anthonys about their pregnant unwed daughter and money.

Also, in June of 2006, the Anthonys report a stolen vehicle. My guess is Casey did not come home when expected and Cindy reported the car stolen. Is there a way to find out the result was of stolen car report?

    “Forest for the trees.”

I imagine we have all heard this phrase, and know its meaning, but just in case:

When we say someone cannot see the forest for the trees, it means that they are so caught up in the small (and often meaningless) details, that they fail to see/understand the larger picture.

A known criminal defense trial tactic (when the larger picture is horrific for your client) is to bog the case down with the small details. Point to little inconsistencies and get the jury members hung up on those, so that they lose sight of the obvious truth.

Just this past week, I attended a CLE (continuing legal education) course (in one of the states of which I am an active member of the bar, we are required to take many credit hrs per year), titled Shakespeare and the Law.

It was given by a local, criminal defense attorney.

He spoke of a case where his client was charged with murdering the victim by shooting him 12 times. His client’s explanation in the privacy of the attorney’s office? “I didn’t mean to kill him. I was only trying to torture him.”

The speaker rolled his eyes, and stated the obvious. “Well, I was not going to recommend THAT be his defense.” (as you can imagine, this drew some laughter from the audience).

This lawyer did not have much to go on, so what did he do? He attacked minor details… little discrepancies in the prosecution’s case. And what was the result? GUILTY verdict. HOWEVER! And this may seem unfathomable, but his defense was not entirely inept, because SEVERAL jurors actually believed that only 7 of the shots were fired by the defendant (even though there was absolutely NO EVIDENCE that anyone else was in the house with the victim and the defendant during the duration of the crime).

It is good to examine the details of the case. The extent to which many here are pouring over the evidence and highlighting discrepancies can be very valuable.

I just wanted to add a gentle reminder that there are some things that may not add up (or appear to add up, without the benefit of input from say, an industry expert on phone record analysis), but to keep the larger picture in mind.

On another note, due to this course and the fascination with this case, –and several fascinating posts by Kleat, bluewillow #625, I decided to go back and read Macbeth, because what Shakespeare was revealing in that play was the mind of a murderer, (“To know my deed, twere best not know myself.” Macbeth), and there is a wonderful line that made me wonder not just when Casey actually murdered Caylee, but WHEN did she put Caylee’s corpse in the trunk of the Pontiac.

    “Stars, hide your fires!
Let not light see my black and deep desires.”

Many of the scenes of this play take part in the darkness. There is, of course, an obvious reason that so many crimes take place in darkness–so that one’s identity and/or one’s deeds are more likely to be hidden.

Macbeth seeks also to hide his inner side, his very soul, from those around him.

    Sound familiar?
I think it describes not just Casey, but the Anthony family on the whole.

I doubt we will ever know precisely when Casey murdered Caylee or precisely when she placed Caylee in garbage bags (perhaps she placed Caylee in the trunk of the Pontiac before she realized that she needed to place her in garbage bags), but I wonder if those who are intensely familiar with the phone records have taken time to analyze this. It could just be an exercise in futility, but I think it may also highlight the fact that George was lying about when he last saw his grand daughter alive.

The more I spent time just imagining what Casey may have done–and the more one looks at the call records for that time period, the more –to quote Blink–”chilling” it all becomes (if that is possible).

And this is why I believe we will see Lyons working her hardest to “humanize” Casey at trial, because Casey is so far from what we recognize as “human”. We struggle to understand her, but that may not be possible.

Lyons is sure to do her best to “humanize” Casey, and press on the jury to somehow relate to her/even sympathize with her, because she needs someone to have some compassion for Casey in order to, if not acquit her, then to remove her from the clutches of the DP.

Look for the Anthonys to be “on trial” as part of the defense. (At least Cindy, and also likely George. (Life in the Anthony household is not a pretty picture will be one theme. Another will be that the only other people who had access to Caylee/the car/the garbage bags/the duck take/the sticker/the yard/etc are Casey’s parents, who have been less than honest with LE since day 1 on many key details).

BTW- I have also been training for an endurance mountain bike race tomorrow– 6 hrs+, non-stop, on a very technical course, so it was a pleasure to take a break from eating/riding/showering/eating/reading Macbeth/etc to catch up with all of your thoughts. Amazing posts/amazing work/amazing theories and comments from so many here.

  27. Kleat says:

    HI Maura,

What do you think about how Casey got the video of the June 15 visit to Greatgran and where was the camera? When did Casey first know about, and see that video– ie: she didn’t take the laptop right away, did she at some point take the camera from the home to use/return or not, that we don’t yet know about?

I’m thinking that on June 15th, Cindy and Caylee returned home, the video being transferred to computer wouldn’t be first priority, because they could see the video on the camera. And then they went ‘to the pool’, then Casey came home. I doubt that first thing to do was for Cindy to show Casey the video of the afternoon visit because Cindy had things to discuss with Casey of some seriousness.

Why would Casey download the video file to computer on the day Caylee went ‘away’? That doesn’t fit for me– that is ‘her mother again, all about Caylee not about Casey’ and she had other more pressing things to do. Cindy or George must have downloaded the file to the laptop, maybe from the tower if that’s where they did some editing. If Cindy did this, then she would remember that was Father’s Day (she was visiting HER OWN father that day) and the last she’d seen of Caylee for a day or more.

I just don’t see Casey bothering with the Caylee vid before she took the laptop from the home. What is your thought on this? Was Casey viewing the file from the net that day in Tony’s, or was the file on the laptop? (my guess is ‘not’ because of the space issues on a laptop) If we knew the dates of the dl to the Anthony computers and upload to Myspace or elsewhere, would this maybe indicate that it was Cindy who put this video on the net so that Casey might see it and think about bringing the baby home, just like the July 3 message.

What’s the most likely scenario, and did the camera stay at home for sure?

Mark NeJame stands up for again and you have to respect the heck out of this guy. This time, he is bringing Tim Miller back in to help find Haleigh at the request of her father. He needs some help to get back on track for Haleigh and to bring her home.

Caylee’s grandparents will do well to stay away, not try to grandstand for their own purposes, go make a publicity stunt or any such nonsense to ‘repair’ their relations with either person. If Conway hasn’t got control of Cindy for Monday’s Haleigh interview, he better step in now and not fold to Cindy’s whims again.

He is my dear friend, and he is a man of integrity- rare.

This girl didnt have a dime to call her own. No sense in paying a fine issued to another person when the money could be spent better at Target.

  30. karen657 says:

capebretoner 738- They could id the car by the vin and trace to the owner. You cant remove that it’s ingraved on the interior of the body of the car. All evidence points to her planning on picking up the car. She was not dumping it. She needed a car. She just got back to it too late.

  31. silverspnr says:

    BTW-
We may never know the answer to the question as to when Casey killed Caylee (under cover of darkness late on the 15th/early or the 16th vs. in daylight– during the day on the 16th), but one vs. the other says a lot about the creation of the Zenaida MySpace page on the morning of the 16th.

If that website was created after she killed Caylee, it is proof of consciousness of guilt.

If that website was created before she killed Caylee, it is yet further evidence of premeditation.

The only time line evidence to go on is George’s claim that he last saw Caylee alive at 12:50p.m. on the 16th, which clearly points to the website creation as further evidence of premediation.

The fact that he lied about the time, does not necessarily mean that Caylee was not still alive at that time.

It is, of course, more chilling to imagine that Casey had murdered Caylee earlier, and had kept Caylee’s corpse in her room or the trunk of the car, just outside the house, while waiting for Cindy and George to take their leave, much of the while, routinely conversing with friends via txt, etc.

TL: There was a picture uh, that I saw on Fox News. It was picture of like a back dress with this silver

    YM: Uhm….

YM: Oh, Oh, Okay so its a, it’s a picture of something that was found, not something that she was……

    TL: No

EE: Civilians wound up finding that stuff over by Amscot, I think is the story you’re talking about.

YM: That’s, that a black dress, that’s the only black dress I’m…….

TL: No, I mean I know that black dress.

    YM: Okay

TL; But I’m just (inaudible), but

EE: That’s the only thing black that I’ve got her video on No?

TL: No, I’m talking about like its a shiny, the one I saw, I mean it could be just me and my mind playing
tricks on me, looking at the news.

    YM: (in audible) That’s all….

    TL: But….

YM: that’s all the same. Who is that by the way?

Then the conversations moves on. I am not sure this issue was resolved in Tony’s mind here. What do you think?

  37. Marcy says:

Lily, #732: I share your opinion that there is nothing cryptic in the facts of this case. Despite her desire to appear to the contrary, Casey is hardly sophisticated. I do not think she is clever enough to leave teasing clues. The Zodiac killer she is not.

To me it is very clear Casey was winging it with her excuses & explanations to the detectives. For instance, when she says she dropped Caylee off at the Sawgrass Apts “between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.,” it is obviously a lie. What parent talks like that? Anyone would have said “after breakfast, but before lunch,” etc. It’s far too long a time period, way too vague.

Casey had no idea how to even act like a grieving mother. This to me confirms her sociopathy — she could not even pretend to behave like a normal woman whose baby was snatched from her. Casey couldn’t pretend because she has no idea how to act like that. She doesn’t get it.

The biggest indication that Casey was flying by the seat of her pants during her police interview is when she maintained the fiction of her employment at Universal, going so far as to take the detectives there. Had Casey had any shrewdness, she would’ve come up with a more believable lie about where she worked.

I honestly believe, with all my heart & mind, that Casey thought the detectives would say, “Well, Ms. Anthony, we’ll keep an eye out for your little girl. Meantime, if you hear anything, let us know. Now you be careful driving home.” Casey is so extraordinarily narcissistic that she thought the cops would just let her go. After all, her patently absurd excuses & alibis had always served her well in life. Why would the police be any different?

I can’t be certain exactly how much tape was on, but I recall it was “wrapped around”, or at least past the mouth, because it was attached to hair that held it “in place”.

I’m not sure what pieces you saw, but I doubt that we saw the photos of the tape that went around Caylee’s head. Remember, the defense was required to set up a secure server to share autopsy photos with experts, because the judge did not want any of those photos to be released to the public. I assume that the photo of the tape attached to the hair was not released. I’m sure that at trial they will show the skull with the tape attached to the hair, as found, before they performed tests. Supposedly , the tape had to be cut in order to remove it…anyone remember the source of this?

The defense will argue the point about her fingerprints.

    {kp-in-quote}Also, in June of 2006, the Anthonys report a stolen vehicle. My guess is Casey did not come home when expected and Cindy reported the car stolen. Is there a way to find out the result was of stolen car report?{kp-in-endquote}

Good analysis on the all the time periods. In answer to this question above, I’m not sure. The list was on OSCO’s site somewhere, but I had other things to do, and I didn’t get a precise “hit” on google. I suppose someone could get a copy of a police report (?), I think you might have to pay for it, but then again, maybe they wouldn’t release it to an uninvolved party (?). If there was never a trial , there probable would not have been a release of discovery via FL Sunshine law, so …..

good common sense thinking there, Karen. I hadn’t contemplated that.

    {slvrspnr-quote}Lyons is sure to do her best to “humanize” Casey, and press on the jury to somehow relate to her/even sympathize with her, because she needs someone to have some compassion for Casey in order to, if not acquit her, then to remove her from the clutches of the DP.Look for the Anthonys to be “on trial” as part of the defense.{silverspnr-endquote}

Yep, like I said…chip chip chip away, and then demonstrate the parents dysfunction as well as Casey’s.

I covered the laptop/nursing home video in my very long Zenaida Gonzalez/Sawgrass post of last week, but there was a lot of information in that long post . . . . I believe June 17th is when Casey took the laptop from the Anthony home and downloaded the nursing home clip onto to the laptop.

This is the section from the ZG/Sawgrass post:

Brian Burner recalled watching Casey back her white car into the Anthony garage on June 17, so it does appear from her pings and from eyewitness testimony that she went home that afternoon in the Pontiac.

Casey steadily used the phone 17 times between 2:18pm and 4:05pm. All the pings hit one of the three Anthony home towers, none of which are in range of Sawgrass. There are no gaps long enough between those 17 pings for Casey to have driven to Sawgrass and back.

Encase computer usage shows that the Compaq laptop was used for the first time in 39 hours (Encase data in discovery only shows activity from midnight on June 16 to midnight June 18). The laptop’s suddenly heavy activity began in the 2:00pm-3:00pm block when Casey’s pings show she had arrived at the house. At 3:29pm, the video clip of Caylee at the nursing home was created on the Compaq laptop. The nursing home clip was modified at 10:00pm later that night and was last accessed on Wednesday June 18 at 10:14am, so that is the date that Tony noticed Casey crying over the nursing home clip when he woke up in the morning (he didn’t have class on Wednesday).

As noted, I am guessing Casey did not take the laptop with her when she left on June 16, but picked it up during this visit to the Anthony home on June 17 since from the evening of June 17 on, her Internet access (like Photobucket downloads) links her to the Sutton Place’s IP address.

Good point you bring up about paying the zanieda speeding ticket

I also wonder if a police officer grabbed something out of a wallet, how did she know it was something to grab so quickly ? After all supposedly this officer cared so little about the contents that she had walked out of the room.

  42. Todd in Tulsa says:

One major point to this that I cannot get over is the whole “actions speak louder than words” rule of thumb in life. Baez and Casey have no problem spouting off how she’s “innocent”, the “nanny” did it, (which by the way, since Casey didn’t work, how was the nanny getting paid? or was Zenaida doing all of this out of a debt of gratitude for Casey?) I would think if they truly believed all of the untruths they were producing, then Baez would be working night and day to actually find the guilty party and providing the evidence he says he has to prove Casey did not do this. Why then, if he believes what he says, is he not doing this? Is this because he KNOWS Casey DID do it?

  43. Kleat says:

Karen, just a thought on that, if this was Casey, remember she was in Annie’s car WITH Annie. (which of course, means Annie did not tell the truth in her depo as she said she was on the phone, co-incidentally, with Casey instead). If Casey ignored the ticket, she could be traced through Annie and Annie’s licence and car registration.

Welcome back Silver & Blink! I missed you both. Oh, first I am changing my initials and putting up my “nic name”. I asked Blinkers a few days ago to pray for the apparently abducted woman from so near me. It has rocked me to my core as it has most of us in this community. Please continue to pray for Kristi Cornwell. (She was featured on Nancy Grace last nite).

Maura, I was listening to Casey’s interview again at Universal. Right near the end where LE was playing “good cop” to her he asks her would she have perhaps sought out the paternal g’parents of Caylee and given her to them……she says she’s not spoken to them since she was 6 or 7? Was this Jesus guy someone Casey attended school with? And how do I find the computer information? I must type it in wrong on stocdoc/docstop whatever lol.

Silver, will these taped interviews be played at trail? The video’s too. Or will the officers just have to testify to what Casey said? And thanks again for your wonderful informative posts. I think we do at times make things sound more complicated than they are, when we dwell on the “little” things.

    Be safe Blinkers,
    Shelly

ELMOSMOMMY, you know, that account came out of Lee’s mouth so I bet there’s another version to this ‘wallet’ searching senario.

When I read Nathan’s account of what Lee had to say to Tony and himself about his (Lee’s) relationship with his sister and parents– it was not a very good relationship, Lee wished he’d met those guys earlier to warn them about his sister, and all her stealing from everyone and all her lies. Was Lee playing his own little ‘good cop/bad cop’ scenario on these guys? Get them thinking they could confide in Lee. I wouldn’t trust too much that Lee says or the way he saId things in those early interviews. He was playing cop and his dad could give him things to say, ‘how to play’ those he was questioning to get their confidence up to talk to Lee.

That’s JMHO. When at first, Lee seemed to be telling officers a lot, being very open about things his mother did, like take money from the wallet, gives the appearance that all he is saying is the whole truth, because he would speak against his mother and even his sister.

I hope ya’ll click on the link in my last post. If this woman out on her daily walk in these remote mountains, chatting on the phone with her boyfriend can be snatched, with her boyfriend hearing the struggle and her begging “Please dont take me.”….. then none of us are safe anymore. And my years of living in my mountain serenity are gone forever.

  47. Kleat says:

and the Anthony’s had no love of the police, when, as Blink says, they were no longer buying what she was selling.

Remember how George played his buddies at OSCO– ‘we’ve got a connection…’ he said to them… even though he’d also stated he was just ordinary George, not a cop anymore. George was orchestrating a lot, Lee, was his front man.

  48. Kleat says:

Maura, you are too kind, I should have gone over the posts again, made notes on what was covered so I’d remember.

    thanks, girl!! (again!)

  49. Todd in Tulsa says:

If Baez has obtained evidence and he has knowledge of one of Casey’s fingerprints on the ducttape, can someone give an outside the box plan of strategy as to why he is willing to go down with the ship in insisting Casey’s “innocence” and jeopardizing his reputation and future career endeavors?
