Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: The Tattoo Is “Caylee” Related- And a Clue?

Orlando, FL– Late this afternoon, after pouring over 1400 pages of discovery, a contributor to blinkoncrime.com caught my attention.

Could Casey’s tattoo yield clues into the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony as long suspected?

Casey told Lee Anthony her tattoo was “Caylee related” during a jail house visit, although she stated there were no further clues associated with it. She chose the stars because Caylee loved the stars. JoJo would hold her up outside to show them to her at night.

However, comparing the image of her actual tattoo, and that of the Art it was based on uncovered during an interview with On the Record Host, Greta Van Sustern, there is a discrepancy.

CaseyTattooCompare

The tat on Casey Anthony’s left shoulder is missing a “dot” in the Northern most star of the design. What could that mean?

Was she paying tribute to 34 month old Caylee Marie, who did not make it to her 3rd birthday at her hand, by filling in only 2?

Was she honing her “script” whereby the missing “dot” in the star is some sort of validation of the timer 55 theory, or that Caylee would be home by her birthday so she could “connect the dot” in celebration?

One thing is certain, although she was in custody on and off for nearly a year, OCSO only imaged that tattoo a few weeks ago, why?

What did they recently learn?

Thanks to Stacy Dobson, contributing to blinkoncrime.com for this article.

seems to me the the prosecution is sitting back watching bozo and the lion make utter fools of themselves. I visualize other lawyers, judges and people in LE laughing so hard at the spectacle they are making of themselves. misspelling motions and filing motion after motion like a maniac person in serious need of some serious dose of prosak!
at one time they were trying to compare to the fugitive! they have bounced so many things out there! baez states that there has been to much media exposure but yet he continues to put his face out there on national TV.

  2. Justice for caylee says:

    does anyone????
Think that Judge strickland will make a comment to baez or repremend him for puting his face out there on national TV I mean isnt it ovious that e is being souble minded???

OMG…I am soooo sick of this defense. I agree with Todd #297. So NOW its a stranger? So which part of their past testimonies were lies? So maybe Zanny was a lie? So maybe it was Jesse or Amy who could have been Zanny are now lies? Are they all crazy? I for one am sooooo beyond tired of this. When will this farce end? Justice PLEASE for Caylee.

  4. silverspnr says:

If the defense is claiming that a “stranger” MURDERED Caylee.. WHY would they dispute HOW THE TAPE WAS PLACED??!

They can’t have it BOTH WAYS.

  5. silverspnr says:

Or…. are they being paid to defend the mysterious “stranger” as well!?! LOL!

    In other words:
If a stranger did it– why would the MOTHER OF THE CHILD-VICTIM’S LAWYERS do anything to DISCREDIT THE STATE’S THEORY about HOW the Murder was committed??! To do that is nothing less than to provide a defense for the alleged mysterious “stranger”.

NOW HOW DO THEY THINK THAT MAKES SENSE????!

You either challenge the evidence itself.. OR you say, YES, the evidence proves that Caylee was murdered, .. but NOT BY OUR CLIENT, LADIES AND GENTLEMAN.. it was X or Y or Z or SOMEONE ELSE.

If you are tasked with defending Casey and you say it wasn’t Casey…. and you BELIEVE THAT..why on EARTH would you say that the real killer didn’t intent to KILL her??? HUH???

    THEY ARE TOTALLY INCOMPETENT.

  6. More Q's than A's says:

    Re post 291

The program reveals that the Anthonys have turned their home into a shrine to Caylee and they keep her death certificate out in the open. Cindy says, “It [Caylee] wasn’t Casey’s child. It was our child. She belonged to all of us.”

OMG, do you think that Casey will be allowed to watch this program? If she does maybe the above statement will be enough for her to ask for a plea deal. She will not be happy that the house is a memorial for Caylee, we know how jealous she was of her. And she will certainly not want to live there if that is the case. Oh and “IT” was our child!!! (Cindy refers to Caylee as “IT”! Can we assume that is a quote.) Wasn’t that part of Casey’s complaint that Cindy acted like she was Caylees Mother?

  7. Kleat says:

Well, the CBS website has 48 HRS Mystery available in ‘full episodes’ once the episode has aired. So people all over the USA can play that full episode at any time, any day, for however long CBS finds there is interest and leaves it up there– probably until trial and beyond. So that’s a good way for the defense to plant it’s seeds of doubt– ideas of a stranger, ideas of bogus, tainted and destroyed evidence and crime scene– all available to the potential jury for the fraud case and for the murder case.

Once it’s up there, it’s going to play on for anyone on demand, through trial. Ratings… ratings… maybe even royalties for the A-d-team and Casey.

I have a theory that Silver might clarify or help with– the motion for Limene to exclude certain evidence such as Amy saying Casey lied for example. What if, in trial, Amy makes an innocent slip as she’s being questioned on the stand, doens’t know she is not to say ‘Casey lied’ but says it in an explanation/answer to a question.

Does that mean ‘mistrial’??? There will be other evidence to be excluded of course, we only have that one example, but it sure seems to increase the chances of ‘skunk in the courtroom’ scenario, the defense could even try to prompt a slip of that info, to get the mistrial.

Would this be one strategic reason for excluding certain evidence like Casey’s ‘bad acts’? To get the trial thrown out– could take a long time and delaying like this could be a big benefit to avoid this trial being completed before the murder trial.

  8. Kleat says:

Can Judge Strickland put an end to the CBS show to air this weekend? If he’s being asked to move the trial elsewhere based on media problems, then isn’t it hypocritical to demand this while airing ‘national’ shows that give the defense position? It’s no coincidence that 48 hrs will aire BEFORE the judge can make that decision to gag both sides. (well, what ‘both sides’– just the defense, the Anthony’s and Brad etc and now they have a video going on CBS that will aire whenever one wants to watch it)

  10. wpgmouse says:

So the defense lawyers are now saying a “Non-Stranger” HAD Caylee, but a “Stranger” killed Caylee. I see.

So, who NOW will they say did the kidnapping? The “Non-Stranger” or the “Killer-Stranger”? Like testimony, does the word kidnapping change, too? Ah, but of course. Therein lies the rub.

OMG. Yeah, right. Come on. I can see the defense story already. Get real.

  11. ChicagoJudy says:

Referring to Caylee as “it” makes me want to throw up.

And didn’t we read somewhere that 48 Hours also interviewed Rick Plesea? I didn’t see his name mentioned above. And I realize that Mr. Grund loved Caylee, but I’m thinking that with his admitting to being in a satanic cult years ago, I’m doubting his credibility. There are so many others who could add valuable information to an interview. Where are all of those people?

And Maria Rodriguez saying that they ask the Anthony’s the “tough questions”. Are you kidding me?? No one has ever asked the Anthony’s the tough questions — except maybe LE. Puhlease!

I have no plans to watch that claptrap. I will wait for the Youtubes so I dont give 1 click to Nielsen.

    # 302. Oh, Silverspnr! You are on a superlative roll! Bless your heart! Yep, the Casey Dream Team is the stuff of nightmares. A stranger abduction? They finally figured it out after a year. Lemee see. No doubt Caylee was abducted from the trunk of the Pontiac. That’s it! The mysterious stranger, along with Jesse, Amy, Ricardo and Zanny, also had a key to the car!

  13. Mariann says:

And………. If a stranger did it- did they first break into the Anthony home down the street and take their trash bags, laundry hamper, duct tape etc etc?? They are desperate to “test” their theories in the public eye to see which one we’d fall for. Baez- the answer is NONE OF THE ABOVE!

  16. westsidehudson says:

It will be interesting to see where the COV goes. There is a link to defense exhibits:
    http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/documents/ExhibitE.pdf

On the final pages there is analysis of population #’s and then media coverage of the C Anthony case (in graphs). The cities with the least amount of coverage are: Panama City FL and Gainesville FL. However, the population of those cities is not comparable to Orlando FL or Miami FL.
I am curious if these numbers have to jibe. Just because a population # is similar, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be the same mix of people that would be present in one locale (the accused hometown) vs another. So is it more important to have a jury of your peers (similar demographic: make-up of races and ethnic groups) or more important that the quantitative population is equal? It’s interesting to contemplate how a “jury of your peers” is defined or determined. More random info:
    Driving directions to Tallahassee, FL
    258 mi – about 4 hours 4 mins
    Driving directions to Miami, FL
    234 mi – about 3 hours 43 mins

As I have posted on this thread, isn’t it kind of a big risk to ask for COV in the fraud case?
Once they have moved the ‘circus’ to another town, media coverage will escalate there, and they will lose that city as a potential site for the murder trial, (which I would think that they should be more concerned about).

  17. westsidehudson says:

    # 305 Agreed Silver. I made a snark statement about that a while ago.
They have to pick a defense. It can’t be accident and/or stranger. If they do that, they will be personally sticking the needle in the girl’s arm. Doubt is way different than reasonable doubt, (Even a dummy like myself knows that)!

  18. westsidehudson says:

Justice….Did these people even appear on the same program? Have they ever met? LOL!

“The state has led you to believe that there’s duct tape around the mouth,” attorney Linda Kenney Baden tells CBS’ Maggie Rodriguez. “All we can say is that’s going to be a disputed issue.”

“A stranger. It was a stranger involved,” attorney Todd Macaluso says.

  19. westsidehudson says:

    # 305-Also, the Anthonys have clearly established a link between the crime and their daughter. One example is going on TV and disputing the heart shaped sticker glue, etc. Why dispute evidence if there is some horrible perp out there (not your own daughter) who was vicious enough to put duct tape and stickers on your grand-baby? If they had, in fact, believed that some stranger did this, why wouldn’t they be distraught about the conditions of the child and be screaming for the public to help find those responsible? It makes no sense other than their making an attempt to lessen evidence against Casey. Their tactics kind of backfire on them.

If any family member of mine was discovered like that I would have said ” please find the animal that did this! my daughter didn’t”. But they aren’t angry at any perp??….Hmmm

  22. joan (Canada) says:

#287 Silver, you are correct and I’m sure Kleat will agree. These crimes against children are happening everywhere, but here in Canada, you here about them on the news when it happens and then “pouf” you don’t here anything until trial time and it just bits and pieces. Last year, not far from here a man killed his two beautiful young children because his wife had left him. Both were doctors in a small town. Media was on it until the funeral, never saw a picture of the wife as media was asked to respect her privacy. Now, that was over a year ago and we have still not seen anything about a trial.

Which makes the point, that yes, we tend to forget (no, not forget, but put it at the back of our minds, because it is so heinous and unbelievable to us. Caylee’s story is so out there and the list of characters so unbelievable that I realize that you know what, if Cindy hadn’t called 911, Casey probably would have gotten away with it.

I have 3 grandchildren of my own and what is out there scares me, so yes, I do and will get more involved for the sake of those who cannot protect themselves.

  23. joan (Canada) says:

Also, what I am learning here at Blink, thanks to her and people like you and Kleat, west, maura and all the others who contribute is making a difference in my life, so whatever happens in this case (hopefully justice for Caylee), this blog is not for nothing. I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels that way.

  24. Bees Knees says:

I won’t be watching 48 Hour Mysteries. I’ll be busy contacting the show’s sponsors to tell them what I think of them covering this BEFORE the trial.

And what’s up with Tracy? I had never listened to her full interview before so I’m way behind most of you but what’s up with all that giggling and saying she liked Casey etc.? Am confused. Surely she won’t take the stand with that attitude? Or will she be a witness for the defense?

  25. justanothergm says:

I think the defense is absolutely right. A stranger killed Caylee. Casey was indeed a stranger to everyone who thought they knew her.

WSH-I live in Panama City and I can honestly say that when I ask someone about the Casey A. case they may have heard the name but can’t remember the specifics others know nothing. I believe the whole NW FL area may be like that. We are having our own very serious local murder trials ending now and some don’t even know about the Billingley’s(sp?) murdered in Pensacola only 2 hours away! Tallahasse is our state cap and completely in a bubble so they should have it there! Our hometown stations do air HaLeigh and Caylee once or twice a month when there is notable news but it’s just a blurb and no commentary. Sad isn’t it?

Silver– THANKS!!! We need to be shown what is so obvious to the pro’s!! I think the defense team is playing ‘nationally’ via Brad, Baez, Macaluso, Kenny-Baden, Geraldo, CBS, MSNBC etc, so that THEIR message (without responses from any pro’s, unbiased or state) gets to the jury pool where ever they land the trial out of Orlando media range.

Blink, we need to put a FRAME around those last two posts of Silver’s and tack them to the wall in here, and move them to the next thread, up top and viewable as a reminder of what that (silver quote coming…) ‘MORONS’ are pulling. It’s all for the poisoning of the jury (aka what Brad calls ‘balancing the playing field).

Seems Todd Macaluso’s only job at this time, publicly, is to continue the ‘innocent S.O.D did it put body in the woods already searched numerous times after said woods searched numerous times by numerous agencies and their dogs’. Baez put a screeching stop to that on Geraldo by not keeping to the ‘she is innocent’ line, but talked about ‘plea deal’ but at the same time, garnered public sympathy for he and his client, and public acknowledgement that Baez has come through this with credibility now, because he raises the issue of plea to his client as he should. (yes… if people only watch Fox, that’s the message that might come across– but of course, he should not have done that PUBLICLY against his own defense team ‘she is innocent’ line– he should have kept that in the defense drawer tightly closed)

    # 318-Blink_ I know. But I thought that you were doing a play on words “youtube(s)”.

I was once sent a form to be part of Nielson. I never responded. They kept sending more forms. First, it felt too much like “big brother”. Secondly, when i have trouble falling asleep, I might leave the television on, with the quietest, most boring program available. Who would want to give credit to a show that literally puts you to sleep!

#323-melissa_ I don’t know if the population #’s need to be a match. I guess Strickland will decide. I didn’t realize how far away from Orlando all those places were. The driving certainly prohibits a ‘day trip’, that’s for sure.

  32. Kleat says:

Stranger killed Caylee and put ‘bucketloads’ (Casey quote, re evidence against her, Oct 14, 2008) of evidence to be found, stranger was threatening the family and Casey so they could not speak, but they were ‘watching them’ (aka ‘the stranger’), and Casey was waiting until it was too late for poor Caylee to be rescued so she would have to be recovered. Seems under this theory, Casey and the grandparents, were putting their own safety over and above a baby ‘kidnapped by stranger’ (aka someone who ‘loved her’).

They are going down so many paths, it’s seems obviously desperation. Cindy was setting up the ‘Casey would give her life for her baby’ and she herself, would ‘put a butcher knife through her heart’ to save Caylee, as early as the FBI interview. Cindy had formed a way to explain Casey’s actions and circumstances surrounding Caylee’s situation, and put it into action by the time she met with FBI SB on video.

Does anyone know if G & C are visiting with Casey? I know Baez did not allow Casey to see them (had her deny visits with them). But, I thought Linda was encouraging the family to visit (show support).

  36. Kleat says:

Blink, that would include John Morgan then– and that sets him up for more criticism (like the defense side can throw rocks at their own glass house). But it also would allow him to expose what’s going on– of course, he might not know how much MORE the others are getting vs what he is getting.

He might do well to do a ‘Mark NeJame’ on any and all money that comes to him through the Caylee story, put the money in a fund not for his client (that would be blood money for her case), but earmark it for some purpose that would do some good for a well chosen cause to raise GLA issues, or help a single baby recover from it’s parent’s neglect and abuse. (something, other than more pocket lining from a baby’s blood and suffering).

  38. wpgmouse says:

I barely slept a wink thinking about the defense SCRIPT and all the PLAYERS on the stage.

The last time my antennae were swinging so wild in this case, was long before little Caylee was found in an area SLOPED DOWN from the road that had been covered in WATER. When on recorded tape, the person sitting in jail, in referring to her little daughter, uttered the words, “She’s LEVEL”.

  39. Kleat says:

Mark NeJame, did NOT keep anything of fees from the Anthony family representation, and he was the one who, after investigating Roy Kronk’s story, gave the $5000.00 reward from his own pocket, to Mr. Kronk.

(correct me if I am wrong in this impression– but what I see in Mark NeJame is someone who is ‘balancing’ what he does in his career of defense lawyer, with an ethical approach, but also, ‘gives back’ approach. Not because of what he says he does, for self-promotion, but from his ‘actions’ that we have seen, for the cause of TES as one example that we happen to know about.)

Mark is very committed to several philanthropic interests, and yes, I think it is fair to say he does balance the two. I find him to be a person if integrity, who sometimes I dont agree with, but can respect the areas we do.

  40. Kleat says:

say, just a thought– we could all stop ‘watching news stories’ and ‘listen’!! Now how would CBS RADIO pay for interviews with no visuals!!! They would have empty studios…

If a US citizen were to set up employment income under a pseudonym that is ‘non taxable’, the IRS would surely be able to make a claim that the what that citizen was doing, was actually receiving ‘income’ vs some other non-taxable ‘money in kind or bartering of goods for labour’.

Same premise with calling paying for interviews, ‘licencing fees’. It’s the same type of thing– they don’t get the interview unless there is some fee attached, and when there is some fee attached, those being interviewed have a certain control or influence on the story contents and how it is presented, and even if not, they can choose to say what is in their best interest only. (the reason for not paying for interviews in the first place).

There should be some way of determining if the fees paid, regardless of what they are ‘called’, actually represent a reasonable payment for photos, or are they paying excess amounts to be provided with the interview. There should be some court to decide, the press is not going to police their own facade of ‘we don’t pay for interviews’ policies and ethical decisions for proper reporting.

  41. Kleat says:

(btw, did anyone notice one of our own Blinker’s got his nickname and posts in the recent doc dump ‘appendix’ of media?? I did only a quick scan through, noticed one nick from here. Interesting that Cindy posted at the ‘media blitz’ dates on the prior doc dump and Brad presser, at a couple of sites using MyAngel and Justsayin111, so how can they now criticize others? (oh yeah, like Brad said, it’s about balancing the playing field).

  42. Tommie says:

I am starting to think the Defense’s only strategy left is to do anything and everything (ie consistantly going on national tv talking about evidence, etc) to make a giagantic cluster-f**k out this case, in hopes that in the end it will be impossible for CA to get a “fair” trial…anywhere in the world!

  43. Kleat says:

ProvokingPoirot, thanks for your thoughts. I think the defense will make use of our human need to not believe the horrific evidence, to say that Casey would have planned her killing method first and foremost to be ‘humane’. But this may not be the case at the point the action took place, whether in a rage or methodical acting out of ‘a spiteful bitch’.

Your shovel experiment, whether that worked out to be the most successful way to drag the ‘package’ or not, I’m seeing those scuff marks on the back of the shovel blade, supporting the scenario you suggest. Those sideways ‘scuffs’ could be from dragging across rocks/pavers with weight on the shovel, they do not fit for ‘digging direction’ scrapes.

It would also be easy to compare grains of scuffed pavers to material found in the trunk– microscopic grains. These can be identified easily (for a microscopist using a variety of techniques to determine the chemical makeup) and compared to the pavers, concrete from the Anthony home.

I think you are right that the shovel played a major role in whatever happened, and it has a direct ‘eye-witness’ link to Casey borrowing the shovel. The shovel can contain a wealth of information– maybe even marks from some sort of ‘cleansing’ on the front of the blade. So full a story this shovel might tell.

OK, now, didn’t we read in the ME’s report, that the duct tape was held in place by virtue of it being adhered to the hair? (Sorry for that visual) And that the tape had to be cut from her hair in order to be separated for examination? Surely, the ME’s office took photographs of Caylee’s skull, complete with duct tape. And certainly those photographs will be entered into evidence at some point. Is there anyone who, imagining what those pictures are like, isn’t filled with horror? Is Ms. Baden going to say that the ME’s office staged photographs, or manufactured evidence?

Why not? It’s not any sillier than anything else they’ve come up with. It’s all such crap.

  48. westsidehudson says:

Maybe it’s different these days, but when they were soliciting for me to be one of the “Nielson families”, they were looking to send a separate box that kept track of what programs you were watching. I’m pretty sure that they can’t just get that info from cable or other providers, it would be a breach of privacy. So unless you have that box, whether or not you watch 48hours mystery may never be known to Nielson. Unless the providers give them totals, without releasing names?

  49. westsidehudson says:

Okay, I was wrong, in addition to spelling Nielsen incorrectly:
    http://en-us.nielsen.com/tab/measurement/tv_research

Hundreds of channels, thousands of programs, millions of viewers. Our job is to decipher and deliver television data every day. How does a program achieve # 1 rank in Nielsen TV Ratings, and what does this mean? Our ratings aren’t qualitative evaluations of how much a program is “liked.” Instead, our ratings provide the simplest, most democratic measurement: How many people watched.

Nielsen measures over 40% of the world’s TV viewing behavior

When Arthur Nielsen introduced the Audimeter (his first metering device) in 1936, there were only about 200 television sets in use worldwide. When the Nielsen national TV measuring service was established in 1950, the average American household that owned a television had only one set and received three network telecasts.

Today, the typical home has multiple television sets and well over 100 channels from which to choose. Likewise, our measurement technologies must constantly evolve to keep pace with daily innovations in consumer electronics.

With recent advances in electronics, viewing is no longer limited to the television set and content is available on multiple platforms. Computers and mobile devices have joined the television as places to view programming. Nielsen measures how people use and engage with content across these “three screens.”

  50. OnASeriousNote says:

It would be worth a change of venue for all charges if Judge Strickland caveats his rulings tomorrow by insisting not ONE MORE WORD comes out of the defense until trial. A gag order put on the 48 Hrs. episode, and if not, a gag order for those who will insist on watching, as the lies will surely leave most gagging at the end.

I’m gagging just thinking about it. Thankfully, I have ANYTHING better to do on a Saturday night. Decisions, decisions…should I go out on the town, or pluck at my nose hairs…no matter, ANYTHING I do will be happening without 48 Hrs. on the tube.

I can’t think of a time when I’ve been more disgusted. My stomach just aches. I’m such a strong person. Why is this getting to me?
