Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Roy Kronk Fired For Undisclosed Reasons- Updated

Posted by BOC Staff | Casey Anthony,Caylee Anthony Case,George Anthony,Roy Kronk | Thursday 29 October 2009 1:20 pm

Orlando, FL- Roy Kronk, the infamous meter reader who after three attempts finally located the remains of 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthony, has been fired from his position as a County employee today.

Roy-kronk

Kronk failed to show up for a pre-determination hearing for the first step of an undisclosed disciplinary proceeding according to Orange County Utilities.

“Roy Kronk was scheduled to attend a pre-determination hearing yesterday to address issues pertaining to his employment with the County. He failed to show for the hearing, and a decision has been issued terminating his employment effective immediately,” the county wrote Kronk’s lawyer. “Therefore, the County shall not pay any legal fees associated with representing Mr. Kronk that are incurred from this point forward.”

Update#1 I received this email from David Evans, Roy Kronk’s Attorney.

I have received a number of inquiries today regarding the decision by Orange County Utilities to terminate Roy Kronk’s employment yesterday.  I am furnishing this statement on Mr. Kronk’s behalf.  Mr. Kronk is the Orange County Utilities worker who found the remains of Caylee Anthony.

The termination of Mr. Kronk relates to a difference of opinion between Mr. Kronk and Orange County regarding a workplace injury sustained by Mr. Kronk in the course of his job duties at an Orange County Utilities warehouse.   This dispute arose because Mr. Kronk’s management directed him to resume work duties after his injury, and Mr. Kronk and his health care providers did not consider it to be safe or medically appropriate to resume those duties at this time.

Mr. Kronk is evaluating his legal options relating to his termination.  In the meantime, Mr. Kronk is volunteering his time to a veteran’s group in Osceola County–he is providing counseling to military veterans to help ease their adjustment to civilian life.

David Evans

Update #2

Roy Kronk injured his kneck and shoulder while lifting boxes in the Utilities warehouse.

Wow…….. does this sound familiar or WHAT?
    Snipped from Orlando Sentinel
Diaz says he lost his freedom because of Baez’s trial performance, strategy and failure to disclose evidence to prosecutors, a tactical decision that prevented jurors from viewing a defense video.

The video, created by a biomechanical expert, would have shown the jury how the toddler’s skull fracture could have been an accident, according to new court filings.

In documents filed this week seeking a new trial and other post-conviction relief, Diaz said, ” . . . Mr. Baez wanted to surprise the prosecution, and the surprise blew up in the defense’s face.”

Baez was not surprised by Diaz’s motion, a common post-conviction strategy that often cites defense mistakes to win a new trial, said the lawyer’s spokeswoman, Marti Mackenzie.

  2. westsidehudson says:

#292_Kleat, the last motion was denied by Judge Strickland, without prejudice, so it permitted the defense to file another motion. I don’t know if this one is any better or different. I’d love to hear another attorney’s opinion here.

It must be costing Casey Anthony a fortune every time these motions are filed and the lawyers have to go to court.

It seems to me, however, that we’ve already seen one motion that said essentially the same thing about the state using the death penalty as a strategy to get a conviction. That didn’t fly, so I don’t know how many ways or times that they can say that where it becomes effective. It’s baffling.

  3. Kleat says:

Ok: Here’s what Dominic Casey’s lawyer said on Greta Van Susteren on March 10, 2009: (btw, wasn’t it March 2009 that Tennis first filed a motion on behalf of Dom. Casey?)

First, Tennis is speaking in relation to all the ‘skull’ variations, including kissing skulls etc, found as graphics images collected by Casey– but Greta, Mark Fuhrmann and Tennis, do not clue in to the ‘red kissing skulls’ version, NOR that these little red kissing skulls (which derive from the kissing skeleton’s skulls forming the obvious heart shaped digital ‘sticker’).

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,507664,00.html

Every one of these commentators MISSES this completely– Fuhrmann talks about maybe there is a link, maybe there isn’t. Tennis calls it a coincidence but ties in the timeline that these general skull graphics were collected ‘months prior’ to the baby going missing.

BUT, those manipulated photos of Caylee that are black and white from the colour versions show one step, then we see another step to put the little ‘red sticker’ on these black and white images, but no one connects this red sticker to the ‘kissing skeletons’ that Casey had collected. It’s a clear match– but any comment I’ve ever seen, is just that it’s a little ‘heart’, just like adding a digital sticker to Caylee’s photograph. BUT it’s that direct link to the ‘skulls’ that Fuhrmann was suggesting, and if Tennis is right on the skulls being collected as a coincidence (which clearly can be simply coincidence), this goes to a whole new level, if Casey took that kissing skeletons image and either created the little heart coloured red from the skeletons skulls, or found that version online somewhere (more likely) and added it in the months prior (as suggested by Tennis) OR, Casey added it when she knew Caylee was already dead as a morbid little sticker. (presuming the black and white with ‘heart’ kissing skulls was even part of Casey’s photobucket with the rest of the images released last year)

    ——–
“DIANA TENNIS, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, I suppose they’re going to try to make a lot of what a bizarre coincident [sic] this is.”
…. “But even if this were some sort of telling sign, it would have been months prior to the body being discovered or the body even potentially being reduced to skeletal remains.
And I do not know that I give this particular woman the foresight to see that far down the road, whether she had something to do with it or not.

So I think it is creepy, but I do not know that I put a whole lot of weight on it.”
    —————–

No one related this possible ‘direct link’ to a photo of Caylee with the kissing skeletons as ‘heart shaped sticker’– it’s a direct match, not some coincidence that it looks like the kissing skeletons graphic image.

Who puts a symbol of death as a sticker on a photo of their baby?

(need to know timeline and how those photos originated… to be sure they were in a doc dump as originating from Casey’s own photo albums)

  4. Kleat says:

On another note, can anyone identify who ‘Kyle’ is in these photos, and is that the same ‘Kyle’ who Richard Grund asked the Anthony’s about and subsequently, he was blocked from access to Casey’s Myspace (or FB) account?

Who is the man in the ‘Made in Ireland’ t-shirt?

(also, I assume that the pink t-shirt that Caylee is wearing, was not the ‘BiG Trouble’ t-shirt– doesn’t appear to be from the photos, but it’s hard to be sure).

Who owns the little pitbull (or pit looking cross?) puppy in those party photos? Amy holds it’s leash, Ricardo holds it for photos as he sits on the floor, and Lauren (?) hugs the puppy for a photo.

Lots of puppies for Caylee to talk about when she goes home.

I know the files of which you speak – - I will try to locate for you.

Here’s one link for now for computer forensics showing the drawing of a little girl with the hanging teddy bear with a file created date of JULY 8, 2008/last accessed date JULY 10, 2008 as well as a graphic image of a Tupac quote with file created date of JULY 11, 2008/last accessed date JULY 14, 2008. Taken off the A’s desktop I believe, located in “bobby” – - still don’t understand that “bobby” name on the desktop.

Further down there is part of an IM fragment dated JULY 13, 2008 about hanging out with Nate and smoking, eating and watching horror movies.

Ok, who besides me is reading Mommy’s Little Girl? Fess up. Or am I the only sucker? lol

Hey, at least it has answered my long running question about what is with the fixation on middle names in this family? (I mean, it kind of has—it’s a thing from Cindy’s parents, honoring some relatives, so they use Marie for the girls’ middle names, and “A” middle names for the boys’. They continued the tradition with Casey and Caylee.

I don’t know if that’s why Casey always invents middle names for her fictional friends, but at least I kind of understand why they always insert the Marie everywhere, as if to distinguish the child from all the other missing Caylee Anthonys.

If it’s not too much trouble, could you provide a link? I’d like to read that again.

I have an opinion question to pose. Do you guys think that Casey had any thought of the police seizing and searching the computer while all of her actions where going on? Also, if so, was the hanging teddy bear with that phrase out to the side a sort of statement? Possibly, in her twisted mind, justifying her actions?

“Mommy’s Little Girl” recounts Casey Anthony case
Updated: Wednesday, 32 Nov 2009, 12:19 AM WTF
    Published : Wednesday, 32 Nov 2009, 12:19 AM WTF

Diane Fanning, the author of “Mommy’s Little Girl”, the story about the Casey Anthony case, will appear on the Oprah Winfrey as part of Ms. Winfrey’s segment – Book of the Month Club. A spokeperson from Harpo studios stated that the main reason Ms. Winfrey wants Ms. Fanning as a guest is to rub the Anthony’s greed in their face.

The 352-page book also contains eight pages of charming cruise photographs, and gives background information about the miserable life of George and Cindy Anthony and the upbringing of their momster, Casey.

Mommy’s Little Girl is available online and at major bookstores for $6.99.

I really really hope that Linda DB and John Ashton will co-write the Caylee Anthony book at some point. It’s the only way we’ll get to know all that they know. I remember that Vincent Bugliosi and his partner wrote Helter Skelter. Very scary book. They were the ones who prosecuted Manson and his family. But I don’t know if they wrote the book after they retired or not. I’m guessing they did. Hopefully, I’ll be around long enough in case LDB and JA write their book. I’m sure it will be a very good read.

  23. lily says:

#290 WSH – LOL – should you feel stupid? OMG – never! I know you already know about Jim Thompson and his statement but I think I wasn’t real clear about my opinion in my comment: Basically when the story broke that he was on the witness list – and we finally got to read his statement – several bloggers attempted to vet his story and rightly so. A lot of people took his statement as actual fact – including me (which wasn’t helped by some bloggers who gave him more legitimacy than he actually deserved). What hasn’t happened is that many of the readers (and some bloggers) didn’t follow up on the process that refuted much of his story. In fact, when you read his statement with all of the over-the-top references to Casey’s cleavage and legs, etc. the whole thing was hinky from the beginning. What I keep seeing over and over again is that people are using his statement as some sort of proof or fact to make assumptions about the timeline or Casey’s demeanor toward Caylee on those dates as well as many other things. They are picking and choosing what fits in the statement to their own theories. Today, I don’t believe at all that Casey & Caylee ever stepped foot in his store now that the whole thing has played out. I admit after my initial skepticism I sort of checked my intuition at the door (which I won’t do again) and started to believe him. I thought he could just be mistaken on some details and he did have a lot of cojones to try to defend himself and his statement several times. Funny how nobody has followed-up and written a story about WHY Mr. Thompson decided to give police this statement 8 months later or WHY he continued to defend himself publicly when it was clear there were major problems with his statement. There has to be an agenda, motive or perceived benefit/gain for him?

Not to mention – It continues to astound me how people – instead of just being interested in the story because of its injustices and our curiosity about human behavior like most of us are – will actually insert themselves and become part of it.

Blink when its all said and done – I hope you do an article on this phenomenon?

  24. Wendy says:

    Chica,

I’m confused. Maybe I’m just dumb, (possibility)..ha. I don’t get how Fanning can have 8 pages of cruise pictures in her book. I’m typing this without looking back to see the exact date of the cruise, but it seems it was only a few weeks ago. If her book is already available, how would there already be pictures of the cruise in there? Wouldn’t they have been printing those books for awhile now? Also, I’m wondering if you can post a link to the comment from the spokesperson at Harpo, the one that said Oprah is having Fanning on her show as a way to rub the greed of the Anthony’s in their face. Just doesn’t strike me as something that Oprah would have allowed someone to repeat, if in fact she said that. I don’t know, like I said, I could just be more naive or dumb than I thought. I guess my last question would be, if in fact the pictures of the cruise are in the book, is the book available for sale, or available to reserve a copy online for $6.99? That would clear up the question of whether or not the pics are in there from the A’s cruise. TIA for any answers. :)

  25. martha says:

#324 ChicagoJudy—-hello hope your day is going well. Helter Skelter was a VERY good book. Also another good one is by Vincent Buglioso called Outrage about the OJ Simpson trial. Mr B was a very good prosecutor and very thorough. Showed all the things the prosecution could have and should have done in the simpson trial. I am hoping that and I feel that the prosecution has the same type of grip on the Anthony trial that Buglioso had—every duck in a row. Casey will be asking for mercy soon and that plea bargain—any guesses as to when? I am thinking she would have to be guilty to get a plea–am I correct. That would be enough for me for her to admit that she took Caylee’s life and get lwop instead of the dp. That would be very hard for her to say I think as no one has “broken” her story so far.

When I was a kid my Dad was watching that on TV and he said I had to go watch tv in the den because it was not for kids eyes. I waited until he got up for a snack and slid under the couch and watched it with him in between the slits of the fabric panel at the bottom and scared myself to death. He figured it out when my Mom told him I asked if people look in their backyards and under their houses for dead bodies before they buy them.

  39. Kleat says:

Teri, could it be that with the recent discovery, Ms. Lyon understands her client all too well now also, and she’s fighting the case in the only way she can, almost admitting that they have NO defense and no assistance from the parents who, by now, have lost all credibility needed for family support at trial and sentencing.

Their client knows the last time she was with Caylee, what those circumstances were, and when that happened. There is no way around that and yet she does not admit to what happened (she’s given a choice of two scenarios herself) nor ‘when’, as she has changed her story from time to another. The defense can start there with their defense, the handing over the child to someone, or coming up with the true scenario date and time and person’s involved, if anyone else.

The defense can look to their own client for the true scenario of the last time their client was with Caylee Marie Anthony. That would be a good start.

Maybe Casey wants to create this havoc around her, loves the notariety/media attention, and maybe wants to take down as many people as she can for as long as she can, then she can continue her lies and self-destruction for the final blow to her mother and father.

(thanks SeeMeAtTheBeach for the links!! Super!! And thanks, mouse, for your links too!)

  40. Kleat says:

Maybe being put to death is her ultimate goal, if she can not have things her way, she can hurt her family more by going through with suicide by execution of sentence. The ultimate blow (possibly), in her mind, would be for her mother to lose the most important daughter, Casey herself, and Casey will leave her with nothing. Or maybe Casey just thrives on this risk and all of the attention it brings to her each and every day, with television and internet coverage for every hearing, discussing ‘her’. That has to have a degree of gratification for someone who views themselves as the center of the universe.

  41. Kleat says:

Maybe Ms. Lyon would do well to give her client a reality check, once these motions have run their course and once all discovery is in. Or they may have no defense– Casey may wish to take the risk of trial, even thrive on the risk and excitement as stimulus she can actually enjoy, like watching a horror film that may be the only way she can really ‘feel’.

  42. ChicagoJudy says:

Dee, it’s nice to see you here. Just wanted to give you my condolences and hope that you and your family are doing ok.

  43. columbiares says:

IIRC Casey pitched a fit when they announced they were going to go for the death penalty. Most sociopaths do not ever want executed. I think Ms Lyon needs to yank a knot in Casey’s tail and stop with the Bobbsey Twins routine. (Triplets if you include Ms. Baden) A plea is the only way to save her client.
There’s a chilling collage in the Diane Fanning book I’ve not seen. I mean chilling. It was on Casey’s computer. I don’t ever recall seeing it in any of the discovery. There’s a picture of Caylee, a sign that says ‘lying- the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off’, a zombie woman, a sign that says ‘lie like you mean it’, a sign that says ‘something went terribly wrong’..and some other pictures. Anybody remember seeing that?
