Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Roy Kronk Fired For Undisclosed Reasons- Updated
Orlando, FL- Roy Kronk, the infamous meter reader who after three attempts finally located the remains of 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthony, has been fired from his position as a County employee today.
Kronk failed to show up for a pre-determination hearing for the first step of an undisclosed disciplinary proceeding according to Orange County Utilities.
“Roy Kronk was scheduled to attend a pre-determination hearing yesterday to address issues pertaining to his employment with the County. He failed to show for the hearing, and a decision has been issued terminating his employment effective immediately,” the county wrote Kronk’s lawyer. “Therefore, the County shall not pay any legal fees associated with representing Mr. Kronk that are incurred from this point forward.”
Update#1 I received this email from David Evans, Roy Kronk’s Attorney.
I have received a number of inquiries today regarding the decision by Orange County Utilities to terminate Roy Kronk’s employment yesterday. I am furnishing this statement on Mr. Kronk’s behalf. Mr. Kronk is the Orange County Utilities worker who found the remains of Caylee Anthony.
The termination of Mr. Kronk relates to a difference of opinion between Mr. Kronk and Orange County regarding a workplace injury sustained by Mr. Kronk in the course of his job duties at an Orange County Utilities warehouse. This dispute arose because Mr. Kronk’s management directed him to resume work duties after his injury, and Mr. Kronk and his health care providers did not consider it to be safe or medically appropriate to resume those duties at this time.
Mr. Kronk is evaluating his legal options relating to his termination. In the meantime, Mr. Kronk is volunteering his time to a veteran’s group in Osceola County–he is providing counseling to military veterans to help ease their adjustment to civilian life.

Blink, wouldn’t they may wait until the decision re: Dominic and his ‘lies (or is that letters) of engagement’ is decided by the judge. We don’t have Judge Rodriguez’s decision yet about Dominic Casey’s three letters yet, do we? Is the issue the same for both judge’s regarding any privilege or does that vary from civil to criminal court?
Do you expect tomorrow’s docs to include roots and bugs?

Maybe Casey is po’d enough at her parents and brother for cruising away that she may just throw them all under the bus. Say they KNEW about what happened. If she is going down she is going to bring everyone with her.
Does anyone know if the ducttape has been clarified? I know they ruled out George, Cindy, and Lee as to not having their DNA on that tape, but did they ever come out and say that Casey’s was on that tape, DNA, fingerprints?

Questions: There is no statue of limitation on murder? If someone is arrested, prosecuted and convicted of the crime then the State Attorney Office (SAO) discovers that a second party was involved in the crime can the SAO bring charges against the second party and prosecute the second party too? Then you look at the next grouping of links and it seems as though an “infested” body is less likely to form adipocere. It also says that adipocere forms after a month?- Although temperatures that are warmer will produce adipocere faster. Are we to assume that she was kept some place cool and sealed before being in the car? Or, that perhaps minimal amounts formed rapidly even in a hot car trunk in summer months? It seems contradictory. And I can’t seem to find any scholarly articles, but will go back and look.

Abstract
The accurate determination of postmortem interval (PMI) using the formation of adipocere presents a significant challenge to forensic scientists interested in determining the time of death. Several attempts have been made to determine the time since the occurrence of death. However, up to date, this has been difficult because previous approaches have been mainly qualitative, focusing on the later stages of degradation processes. This work presents preliminary results of an experimental model of postmortem adipocere formation using liquid chromatography. Three pig cadavers were submerged in distilled water, chlorinated water, and saline water. Fresh specimens resulting from the degradation in the subcutaneous fat were obtained from the pigs at two-week intervals for a period of ten weeks, and were subjected to chromatographic analysis. By correlating the ratio of the disappearance of hydrolyzed fatty acids with the formation of hydroxystearic and oxostearic acids after death, a simple, quantitative analytical method was developed for the determination of PMI. Experimental observation of the chemistry of adipocere formation indicated that adipocere can be formed only a few hours after an incidence of death and this continues until the saturation of oleic acid degradation after several weeks. Different time courses were obtained for cadavers immersed in distilled, chlorinated, and saline water, respectively. This work has not in any way solved the time since death problem. But it may be an approach to the problem that has not been adequately explored.

Adipocere, “grave wax,” is a waxy or greasy decomposition product formed by hydrolysis and hydrogenation of tissue fats. Once formed, it appears stable for extended periods. Adipocere has generally been considered to result from bacterial action, commonly in warm, damp, anaerobic environments. However, its frequency, rate of formation, factors affecting its formation and physical characteristics are not well defined. To study the frequency, time course, and effects of temperature and clothing on adipocere formation, we submerged human adipose tissue samples in aquaria under controlled conditions and conducted serial observations. Adipocere formed with high frequency, within a few months, in tissues submerged in warm tap water; similar changes took longer, 12 to 18 months in cold water submersion. Presence of clothing over the tissue appeared to accelerate adipocere formation.

Blink — Re: #401, your answer “none”. Are you saying that you no longer believe there is a “smoking gun” that will come out in discovery, ie a finger print or DNA? I guess, like most of us, I’m still holding out hope that you or someone knows something more about this case that will lock this up and prove Casey’s involvement.
No, I meant the State does not withold anything, does not mean we will get to see everything, but they are not obligated under the Supreme Court of Florida to “withold” anything.

Megaselia scalaris are small in size; this allows them to locate carrion buried within the ground and to locate bodies concealed in coffins.[11] They can travel 0.5 m in a four day period.[11] They lay their eggs on carrion to provide food for the hatched larvae.
Often, Megaselia scalaris may be the only forensic entomological evidence available if the carrion is obstructed or concealed in a place that is hard for other insects to reach.[12] Larger flies are not always able to reach the carrion. Calculations involving “M. scalaris” can result in an insect colonization time that can be used for a postmortem interval, which may help establish an estimated time of death.[12] M. scalaris are classified in a secondary forensic role because they prefer older decaying carrion.[12]

Blink, although I am tardy, I have searched around, and I’ll use a quote from WESH’s Bob Kealing when confronted with the fingerprint question, he responded, “It is not going to be good for the defense”. I wasn’t sure where exactly to post this BUT with this new angle of the defenses that Roy Kronk has as much motive and opportunity pointing to him as Casey does to her, it seems to have people thinking the defense is trying to frame him, my tendancy would be to think that they are actually trying this angle to say Kronk can’t be proven guilty so therefore Casey cannot either…what say you ?

In florida do those who are going to testify have to stay in a waiting room outside the trial room? Why is the Anthony family allowed in the trial room but other witnesses are not?
