Morgan Harrington Case: Are Police Closing In?

Charlottesville, VA– Missing since the evening of October 17, 20 year old VT student Morgan Harrington had a vast circle of both friends and interests.
Could that circle be the key to where she is and what happened to her?
I have been reporting exclusively at blinkoncrime.com that we believe that Morgan Harrington was lured outside the John Paul Jones arena by someone she knew.
Dr. Harrington stated on Nancy Grace’s October 29th show that Morgan had been texting with a guy friend.
GRACE: That`s what I don`t understand. If she was just going to the bathroom, then why did she go outside the arena? Have they looked at her cell phone? Did anyone contact her and lure her out?
HARRINGTON: It does not appear there were other calls to Morgan during that period of time. There was some texting of Morgan to a young gentleman that she was friends with, but it was no one in Charlottesville. It was further away and so — but he`s not a suspect at all at this time.
GRACE: Right. So they were just probably texting about what, the concert, that she was at the concert, stuff like that?HARRINGTON: Yes.
GRACE: OK. And he was in a different city?
Not a suspect at this time? The only other person to communicate with Morgan Harrington at the time of her disappearance on the cell phone that is located the next morning without it’s battery, is not a suspect at this time?
I would agree with that classification then, but sources inside the investigation are saying this investigation is moving closer to the VT campus, as well as “The Noke”.

The Tiedye Guy, as he refers to himself, is well known throughout Morgans peer group. In fact, Morgan and many of her friends are also friends with Herndon on his myspace.
In addition to his roadshow vending business, he owns a store 
called Beandawg Art, in Rocky Mount, VA with his partner, Jeanelle Myers.
While researching Herndon’s many pastimes, it is clear that his newest endeavor, “body painting” is taking off.
According to Herndon, he was just in a Video shoot, doing the bodypainting of his bff, *Jeni*, the weekend of October 17 at the Motel 6 in Virginia Beach. He wants us all to know that, as a matter of fact, from his myspace:

Jeni, a Waynesboro, VA native, is an operating room nurse. She is the frequent subject of Herndon’s art ,apparently, and recent music video star.
She was not on Morgan’s myspace or her immediate friends but she did have one thing in common with her.
Jeni touts she works as a nurse for Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Morgan’s Father, Dr. Dan Harrington, is the Vice President for Academic Affairs for the Carilion Clinic.
Gil Harrington, Morgan’s Mom, is also an RN. By all accounts Dr. and Mrs. Harrington have a pristine reputation in their fields and as a solid family couple.

Mr. Henderson not only lives in the roundhouse, he lives on the road. Mylinda can be spotted at many a concert venue. 
Why do we care?
One of the most signficant quandries in Morgan’s disappearance is why, after every indication that she eagerly anticipated the Metallica concert, would she go outside the venue ?
Was it the ole back stage pass ruse? Who knows, but if it was, it would have to be pretty convincing in this author’s opinion.
There appears to be a circle of “friends” that run the gammut of screen printing, tie dye and bodypainting. All with access to talent.
Musical talent that is.

A new search listed on the above link is scheduled beginning tomorrow — It is my opinion that whomever is responsible for Morgan’s disappearance is not far away…just a gut feeling. I surely hope that someone is watching over who volunteers for this search…especially anyone clad in a “security” tee.
Is this search coordinated by the family or LE, or does it matter?
I pray this family receives closure soon…missing/abducted/murdered victims everywhere lately….makes my stomach churn and Morgan’s fate is not looking so pleasant IMO. I pray and continue to pray for her and her family/friends.
It is being coordinated by LE, and Laura Recovery Center is top notch. It is my understanding that these grids will encompass areas ALREADY searched.

Maybe the show was sold out, and Morgan couldn’t buy another ticket? I wouldn’t go as far to say I’m surprised that more people didn’t see her outside, but quite a few people are late going into these shows – even seeing the main band – because they’re outside talking or drinking or otherwise engaged. A lot of Metallica fans are repeat attenders, so not a big deal. It just seems like someone would have noticed *something*, even if they don’t realize it’s relevant yet.
PS: I’m under forty, too (although the rest of the demographic tends to fit). I began visiting BlinkOnCrime because I have children, and I worry for them. Not everyone under forty is ambivalent to crime, and not everyone who attends Metallica concerts is an avid partier. My husband and I have gone to more than a handful of their concerts (he’s a huge fan), and there are just as many intelligent, sober professionals there as there are partying coeds.

Can you clarify for me?
DW is a man who made a statement on his myspace page about seeing Morgan that evening. True or False? Not sure. Could be a wanna-be. Again, not sure. What I do know is that he appears to work for RCM Events in some capacity…most likely security.
RCM Events is the contractor for the JPJ arena, so when I knew DW was employed (most likely part-time local as most are, and work job-to-job), I began to research further about this DW.
(Nothing bad about this type of employment, but I have personal first-hand experience in this “industry” which is the reason for my focusing on security personnel)
Again, can you clarify a little more on what you believe to be?

After reading extensively on Facebook about this case, I came to the conclusion that Nelson and Charles were one in the same. I only have an account at InSessions and have posted about this there.
I can’t imagine that he has anything to do with this case and is probably just a bit of a lost soul, but you never know.
I also have some questions about some of the family dynamics after having done some reading. I don’t suspect the family members necessarily, just think that certain things may have caused Morgan to vanish on purpose.

I think there are several fictitous profiles on the Find Morgan Facebook created by one person. Very scary!
CW , in my opinion ,is an attention seeker for whatever reason(s) , I strongly feel he is not a person of interest in this case .
Could someone shed some light on possible reasons Morgan’s car make , model , color and exact location it was parked on the evening of Oct 17th has never been included on the timeline and visual information provided by LE and others involved in this investigation .

Sooo Sorry for the confusion. I copied and pasted a comment from Morgan’s Facebook that I thought was from one person of interest – but turned out I grabbed the wrong one. I apologize for that! Its confusing enough without me adding to it.
It does feel like there are gaps – that should be able to be easily filled – as to who/what/when/where/why she left her friends and went outside. Why does it seem as though either friends aren’t saying enough – or they are and LE is keeping it close to the vest.
1) she left for a quick ‘meet up – drug buy’ outside the venue not knowing she couldn’t get back in. Without her keys she couldn’t use her own car in the parking lot. She was pretty vulnerable with a purse and drugs on her and nobody looking out for her. Either her seller or someone else watching her knew she was in a risky situation.
2) she left not intending to go back inside. Ladies room freshen up makeup for meeting up with someone she wanted to spend some alone adult time with. Left her keys with her friends so they could drive her car back. She intended to be back together with them sometime before it all would look suspicious to her parents. Who is this person?
Either way – she didn’t leave just because she wanted a breath of fresh air. She left because she made plans for either a quick trip outside – or to leave altogether. Her friends would know. What are they saying?

This is more a coincidence I’m sure, but I made an observation I feel warrants sharing. The DW character is certainly off kilter in some way. I agree with the comments I have read on here about him. He appears suspicious. On his MySpace he mentions liking all Marilyn Monroe films (and things MM). It seems to be the only real mention of female or an interest in that direction. I noticed that Morgan’s Facebook pic clearly shows a Marilyn Monroe poster in the background. Just an observation. I am wondering if he somehow crossed paths with her and had developed some sort of obsession? I also noticed that the exchanges with his MySpace friend Sara jokingly referes to “stalking” repeatedly as if its a conversation they have had or an inside “joke.”
Hello, Blink. As you know, I don’t post on here much anymore, but as I’ve told you, I do follow the site regularly. This is my semi-weekly check-in to let you know I’m doing well.
After sifting through this mountain of BULLSHIT that is a lot of these folks pointing the finger at you (as if YOU are the problem), I’d just like to say a few words, if you don’t mind.
I was personally involved with some folks that ended up on this site. At first, I was rather standoffish with Blink myself. It’s easy to make that mistake. That being said, after lengthy email exchanges, and what not, I came to find Blink as the most genuine person I’ve encountered in life in the past 15 years. She didn’t give a rat’s ass where I’d been, what I’d done, or who I’d done it with. All she cared about was first and foremost the victim that kicked off my relationship with Blink, and said victim’s poor family. As the days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, I kept in regular contact with Blink, and I will say she truly helped change my life for the better. I am a former drug addict, violent thug, typical piece of shit. I’d made a change in my life, but was DANGEROUSLY close to slipping back into those behaviors, and habits. Blink lit a fire under my ass like none other, and gave me the proverbial “bitch-slap”. All that for a complete stranger.
Point is, either contribute to finding this poor missing woman, or shut the f*%k up. Seriously, Blink is a beacon of light in a world full of dark. I’d love to see any of you idiots talking about “defamation” and blah blah blah work Blink’s job for three days. You wouldn’t last that long, but even if you did, you’d be running back home to Mommy with your tail tucked between your legs. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS. ALL BLINK CARES ABOUT IS JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE END.

Blink: Your question in #112 -
Since these schedules are usually put on-line for the people who are working these events, it probably drops off when a new schedule is added. Since staffing/recruiting begins about three months out, it is probable that when they added the January 2010 schedule, October’s automatically dropped off, or deleted by the office manager when she added January. The bottom of their website shows November 5 was their last page update so maybe today is when it was deleted (five days into the next month would make sense to me). I know it was on there Nov. 2.
Pam, the link I posted covers events in October for the month, it does not reference the Metallica Concert

Blink: Re #123 – Oh, you mean the homepage…duh. Sorry. It wasn’t on there Nov. 2 either when I was checking it out. That’s a good question, unless you’re testing me and you already know the answer LOL.
Two possible things come to mind:
1) Metallica’s contract ryder only allows advertising of their concert at the venue site, radio stations, newspapers, ticket sales sites (i.e. ticketmaster, etc.). Since RMC is only the security provider for the arena, they do not fall into any of the above. JPJ are the only ones (other than the band and manager)who are privy to ryder inclusions, but would have definitely told their security company that they could not advertise Metallica’s name on their home page
or
2)It was intentionally removed for whatever reason and that just would not make sense to me.
or
3)Adding this in for good measure: At the last minute RMC was told their services were not needed for this particular event and that it would strictly be covered by local police. If this is what you were told or know, then I can expand on why that would never happen, especially for a band like Metallica.
Well SMG does feature the photos… but they manage the arena, I am not familiar with them staffing security.

I think the Harringtons are a very loving, close and well educated family that is trying their very best to do the right thing in this bizarre situation. I do not believe for one minute that Morgan was running away from them or anything in her life.
They have had their minster at the home as their spokeperson at first, then to man the homefront while they travelled to C’ville to head up the investigation there. I find that more the norm, usually ministers rush in to help when a family involved in the church is in such distress. The Unitarian Church is very progressive, very Christ driven, very serving. They are a religion that preaches tolerance, justice, love and understanding as well as service. I know many well educated people who have grasped this religion as a heartfelt breath of fresh air. I am not Unitarian but I have read The Course In Miracles, which their church embraces. It is a very positive, life affirming religion.
Her brother stated that he knew that whomever had her would let her go because she was such a special person. Would not you hope that your family tried to keep the good thought that you were so special that someone could not bear to harm you? He is trying to keep hope alive for himself and family.
Her parents have now hired a media consultant to help them get the message out and handle the press so they can spend their time concentrating on finding her. They have reached out to Mr Smart..in the hope he can enlighten them about what is like to be a member of this club no one ever wants to find themselves in. I think they have shown such poise, grace and common sense in their approach, I am in awe of their ability to carry this burden with such grace.

I am drawn to this case for many reasons. The first reason is because I am a mother. The second reason is because the relationship I had with my father reminds me alot of the relationship Morgan seems to have with her father. Mr. Harrington seems like a wonderful person. My father was an extraordinary man also.

Hello…this is Jeni… I have not fully read through all of these posts and resposes…however, having read what I have thus far, I will urge you to contact the proper authorities if you have any further speculations or questions regarding ME. I will be happy to talk to them. Please do not hurt me or anyone else that I’m close to. I don’t know who you all are (that have created or attributed to this site) or what your motives are, but you’re not helping anyone by doing what you are doing. I will be more than happy to talk to the authorities, Morgan’s family, or anyone else involved. I don’t know this woman personally, I cannot imagine what her family is going through right now, and I don’t think these accusations are helping in any way. I appreciate the widespread interest and concern in this case, and I include myself in this group of people, but please use the right outlet to express these interests/concerns. I will not be checking this site for responses to this post. I wish all the best for Morgan and her family.
As far as I know Jeni, the only accusation made of any kind, is from me. You changed the dates on your myspace the other evening in 2 places and changed them back, both relating to dates following Morgan’s disappearance, why?

There are so many theories (of course I have my own) circulating about what happened to Morgan Harrington that anything is plausible at this point.Yes,I think everything and everyone that could possibly hold a clue to her whereabouts should be looked at and questioned, but the only merit or basis of your story and of this individual being suspect is based on his age and lifestyle. Is this not what is referred to as profiling? Is every black person a criminal, is every Muslim person a terrorist?
Let’s face it anyone can throw up a mediocre website and call themselves criminal reporters or investigators, but unless You or your reporters have some great investigative expertise or are privy to some police information that has not been released to the general public, than to infer that someone is suspect because of their age and lifestyle is just rumor mongering.
I have no reason to come to the defense of this particular individual as I don’t even know them or have any connection to them, but just feel a general disgust for people that make accusatory remarks or infer someone as being guilty based on their own prejudices or speculation.
I do know that if it was me, a friend, relative or acquaintance that was being profiled without any merit, that you would have a lawsuit on your hands right about now. If this individual(s)are found not to have any connection to the disappearance of Morgan Harrington their names and reputation will still be associated with her disappearance and be forever tainted regardless of the outcome.
I believe in the power of the press and it should be used with all it’s might to bring about justice, but not at the expense of someone who has not been proven guilty yet.

If anyone in any way referred to Mr. Herndon as a suspect, your post might have some merit. Regarding security at JPJ Arena:
As far as I know, the Arena uses local police for security. My husband has worked several events there.
Well, I just wanted to put my two cents in. I also am under 40 (barely though) and I have a 4 year degree, and I often read this site for inside information on cases I don’t understand or that I want to know more indepth info on than the mainstream press is reporting. Blink has several reliable sources within LE and always lets us know if something is speculation, fact, etc. I wanted to say that I’ve found that my first gut reaction to a story involving a missing person or other type of crime is usually the correct line of thinking, because often something is said that clearly does not make sense or fit the scenario. With this case, my very first thought was, why, if she went to the bathroom, did she end up outside the building and could not get back in. I’ve been to concerts and the bathrooms are inside the arena and do not require a person to be locked out of the show after visiting the ladies room. That is the big confusion for me, and I think solving why she ended up outside the venue is of great importance. To me it only makes sense that she would leave the arena to visit someone she knew who was in the parking area.
Oh, I have a Master’s Degree, guess that is a 6 year degree (doesn’t look like it is doing me much good this morning does it

Any updates on the search? Looking at the map this morning, I was thinking that if she was driven away from the arena, it would likely be toward 250 and then toward DC where 250 splits. Why, because that is a rural drive toward the city, toward anonymity.
I will continue to pray to all higher powers, that Morgan will be found soon. Her parents must be besides themself. WE all need to push are good energy towards them, to help them right now,feel strong. I get tears everytime I think of her. My heart hurts for this family.My energy is for Morgan today!

Just thinking about other comments from the previous thread and some possible theories that maybe the cell phone “battery” missing could be a some sort of clue. And I went “hmmmm”. Maybe not by her abductor, but possibly by Morgan herself? I am seeing a Battery Park about 2.5 hrs SW of the JPJ arena off of I-64 on the way towards Virginia Beach. Approx. 150+ miles. Would it fit Morgan to know enough to leave a clue behind if she were in trouble?
Has the possibility come across that the cell phone and other belongings were brought back to the scene where she was last seen? Trying to wrap my head around the missing cell phone battery too. I mean whoever could have removed the battery at first so not to be tracked, with the gps tracker, but then later thought to return the items back to throw off LE. The battery either already destroyed or was just forgotten.
#146 BJ – My personal feeling and immediate thought was also that her purse and cell phone were returned to the location much later. It wasn’t discovered until the next morning by a passerby/walker/jogger. I am having a little difficulty with all of the attendees leaving the concert, going to their cars, some walking, that her items were not found that evening…even if it was dark. But that’s just my personal feeling.
Whatever the scenario, I would certainly hope that LE would look into every one of them, regardless of how trivial they may seem to think some ideas may be. If this were my daughter, anyone I knew personally, or a random somebody, if I were geographically close I would be in my car, on foot, and not dismissing any possibility.
I notice RMC is mentioned frequently. What about the cleaning company for the arena? On the VSP sex offender website, there is a RSO who lists place of employment: Pritchard Sports & Entertainment, JPJ Arena. Also, another lists place of employment as a pizza place quite near the Copeley St. Bridge.
I honestly believe this is a stranger abduction. Just my opinion . . . hope I’m wrong.
#148 Virginiagal — Good observations. Do you get the feeling that Morgan was lured somehow by someone to come outside the arena in the first place? Just doesn’t sit right we me that she was thrilled to attend this concert, and I just can’t picture her walking outside by herself and risk missing any portion of the concert. She may have thought that she could walk outside and then re-enter and wouldn’t miss a thing…but what would make her go outside in the first place. If she was a smoker, there were designated smoking areas inside the arena.
Another thing that doesn’t sit right with me is that her purse/cell was found on the SE section of the field the next morning. But the last sighting of her by a witness was on the bridge. I am trusting the witness who saw her on the bridge was correct, but am wondering if they witnessed her carrying her purse at that time. If I remember correctly, her purse was the type that had “back-pack type” straps on it. Those are pretty obvious, but I must admit I don’t know how well lit the bridge area is.
If she’s on the bridge, but her purse/cell are located on the SE section of the field, then that leads me to believe that she walked toward, and on the bridge without it. And I go….”WHAT????” — That is why in my opinion, her items were placed there sometime during the middle of the night or very early the next morning before the sun came up. That is, however, if the sighting on the bridge is legitimate.

#149 – I am with you on that one also. That would make sense then, if she had limited contact with some people at the field that night and that is also the area that her purse/cell were found. I am so not computer savvy…is it possible to pull up a satellite image from that evening in that area? Who was parking there that night? It must be an open area where anyone can park, even though spaces are limited, without a permit? Were the individuals that had limited contact with her in that area that evening thoroughly questioned? Why am I so touched by this case? Oh Blink, thank you for tolerating my obsession here….

I am not going to comment on the satellite images in detail for obvious reasons, but in short there are many options there, the best ones would be mobilized immediately upon establishing Morgan was missing. Honestly, not placing a finger or fingers, but in areas of that region it may be the only way to find a victim of foul play.
If we are agreeing with the concept we are dealing with an individual who would already be aware of that, we are looking at requesting aerials in a zone that has lost 50% of their foliage in the last 2 weeks, and a woman dressed in black from head to toe. Sounds like the perfect plan, right?
A note to whomever is reading this with a keen eye to above, and we both know who you are.
Everyone who commits a heinous act thinks they are smarter than everyone else. Sometimes they are smart enough to believe their only risk is the first 3 weeks, and coupled with luck, they are home free.
