gotcha, mariann. I didn’t mean to single you out, so sorry about that—i guess i was more wondering aloud why people (not you, and really not so much on this blog actually) get all up in arms about that poster. seems silly to me today, but i know people have other points of view that are totally valid, including having reasons that OE would annoy them.
oh, thank you, justice23, i knew i read somewhere who that kid was!
michelle, totally agree with you.
I have been reading Blink for the last 3 months and enjoy all the comments. I have also been following this case from Cindy’s 3rd 911 call I just got my daughters car back today and it smells like theirs been a dead body in it. And to my horror I found out that her daughter had been missing for 31 days my 1st thought was that her mother had something to do with it. No mother in their right mind would let her child be missing and not be yelling from the rooftop to any and everybody that could hear her voice my child is missing unless she is hiding something. I have always believed that Casey killed Caylee to hurt her Mother and her daughter because of the Love they shared for each other a Love that Casey couldn’t fell for anyone but herself. And to cut all ties from her family I think she was planning on leaving Florida and starting a new life somewhere else without a glance back.
It has always amazed me that Cindy,George & Lee can point the finger at all of Casey friends as being the ones that are lying and the real murder of their grandchild and still be able to look everyone in the face and whole heartily believe all of Casey lies. They have been trying to pin this on everyone but Casey when everything points back to her and the family as they lie, steal cheat to save their daughter regardless of the fact that she killed that preciouses child.
If that was Holly G’s daughter, there is no doubt that she was in the home with a plan to be on camera. How much was that ‘shot’ worth to the Anthony’s in pure dollars? Holly was on NG early on too, IIRC, Cindy talked about that to Casey in the jailhouse videos, how Holly really spoke out for her.
August 5th, 2008, Cindy said she knew full well that the jail taped everything.
On NG, same date, Holly Gagne was a guest, and then Cindy also joined the show via phone.
“GRACE: Joining me right now is a very special guest, joining us by phone is Cindy Anthony. Thank you for being with us.
ANTHONY: Hey, Nancy. I`m only here because of Holly. ”
Holly spoke earlier on the same show, and was introduced as a previous babysitter of little Caylee.
That girl was obviously not there being ‘babysat’. She may, of course, be watched by Cindy, makes sense, paying Holly back for watching Caylee in the past, just what friends do. So that is all. Still, the child was brought into this on purpose for the filming, that is becoming very clear. The child could hardly know herself, what the implications might be for her privacy. There is no doubt the mother would have been there, somewhere in the background to oversee her child’s debut on national tv.
Cindy, quoted on the same NG show in a video clip, shows how what she was contradicting herself, talking in circles– makes no sense:
“CINDY ANTHONY, GRANDMOTHER OF MISSING CAYLEE ANTHONY: Casey gave me an explanation where she was, and it was very — it was very, you know, believable.
And I had no reason to ever doubt my daughter. Casey has lied to me in the past.
And when she`s lied, she`s told me the truth. …”
Saw the pics of hair with a death band on it – thanks Ada. Is this why all the conversations about hair coloring and haircuts were had at Cindy’s depo and between Cindy and Casey in the jail videos? Defense trying to explain the death band as old roots?
Holly Gagne was “a guest” (vs replaying video clips) on Nancy Grace several times:

I think the defense has nothing, so they’re intent on sabotage, hoping for a mistrial. Using their actions, such as requesting the prosecution to be thrown off the case, the Anthony’s lies in their depositions to provide a “conflict of interest”, claiming to have proof of Casey’s innocence, yet not producing it, going on talk shows in order to have the claim of not being able to find an impartial jury, as well as using all of their lies, inconsistancies, and so on, in the hopes of they won’t be called to testify because they would have to go and reiterate the only time they told the truth in this, and that was at the beginning
If there is a complaint, social workers are sent to investigate. I am a social worker and have had the honor of being “investigated”. A neighbor filed a complaint that my 5 yr old daughter was left on the sidewalk unattended. (it was the 1st day of school, her sibs were arriving home on the bus and she was waiting for them….no biggie…i was in the doorway…..she seemed pitiful as they got to “go on the bus” and she had to wait….anyhooo) They cleared me after an affable explanation. Its just what happens when someone complains.
I post rarely. Will contribute more as the case progresses.
Does anyone know what Cindy’s “disability” is that she’s out on? How long can this last? If it’s emotional distress, etc over Caylee, it’s been almost a year…………
Holly Gagne, a “close friend and former neighbor of the Anthonys, and a fierce defender of Casey’s”.

About a little over the half way mark in the video, after the tour of Caylee’s bedroom, and after Baez, Baden, and Macaluso.
They talk to Holly Gagne, while Holly is talking to George, you see Cindy on the right side of the screen holding Holly’s daughter and swinging with her in her arms. The little girl has dark hair and is the same size as the little girl sitting on the floor in Caylee’s bedroom at the end of the video, and the little girl has the same clothes on in both parts of the 48 Hours video.

Cindy said that in Brad Conway’s office, Hoover had told her about a snake that he’d seen– they were talking about the psychic and tips and the woods. (Cindy’s Mn’M depo)
Anyone know when Hoover saw a snake? Was Hoover in the woods area about the same time as Roy Kronk at any of his visits to the site?
I would say that snake sighting is about 3 months premature for Hoover.
B
Joypath—- I need your expertise please…….
what is adiopocere? (sorry don’t know) and what does this mean in English please? Thanks in advance…
This is quoted from Valhall.
“So the first question to ask is: Does PURE adipocere have DNA? The answer is: No.
The next question to ask is: But CAN a sample of adipocere from a corpse have DNA? The answer is: Yes.”
Thanks, Thinker.
So, it’s fair to say that Cindy was not babysitting Holly’s daughter the day the CBS 48 HRS crew was in the house to work on the special. The scene was ‘directed’ and paid for.
No Kidding it was, Blink!!! That’s what Cindy said– second to last part of her depo on the Mn’M site!!! (and wow, you are fast tonight!
There’s something else that Cindy said earlier in her depo, that forshadowed the more recent discovery, and that was Cindy’s believe ‘to this day’ (in April 09), that ‘Casey is still protecting Caylee’. Now we know what she meant– the ‘Caylee is alive’ and with the ‘nanny’ kidnapper person(s).
But isn’t it strange that Cindy heard directly from someone who saw the snake– or ‘a’ snake– why in the office of Brad after the Nov/psychic/woods– why the snake issue talked about that day. Wierd. Unless Cindy was confused– she is rarely confused, or she says she doesn’t know, or isn’t sure, but she volunteered this.
In addition to all of the evidence, forensic and circumstancial, which fits neatly when placed all together, I just cannot comprehend how any jury is going to buy any of Baez’s ramblings of what-if’s, due to the fact of Casey was locked in with the “nanny” did it defense, although even then it switched from one place to another. How convenient to change the location of Caylee’s kidnapping when the police either knew, or were going to know, the apartment story would cave. Especially after they knew Casey was never given a “list of instructions” to follow
Appreciate these pdf transcripts that are searchable!
Snake reference on pg 167/188, top of the page and the time-frame for the conversation in Brad’s office was the first day Cindy had been able to go back into their home after being away, and after finding what could possibly be Caylee:
Cindy said it was very emotional, she couldn’t ” remember exactly what the words were but I know they talked — James [Hoover] told me about a snake that he had seen and — ”

964-NancyS:
Adipocere is a very fancy word for “grave wax”, the whitish waxy substance that may remain on the body/bones after the human body’s fatty chemicals are changed into a soapy product. The human body contains triglycerides (yep, the same stuff that is in your blood stream with cholesterol and causes plaque)which when water is added under specific atmospheric conditions, breaks down to glycerol and soap.
Re 936 Joypath thank you very much. I was aware of Lee’s role in the Spector trial. What perplexed me in this case was the sequence of discovery of the additional hair and IIRC one piece of fiber evidence. As I read it during the inspection “they” collectively found an additional hair. As the inspection proceeded Lee and the defense lawyer noted additional hair evidence which was collected. The number was small 2-3. That in itself seemed fairly straight forward to me and my thinking was as you remarked in your post.
Now for the bit that confounds me. After Lee and the defense concluded their review of the evidence the officer who attended with them re-examined the evidence and came up with around a ten or so additional pieces of evidence. It ended up with a total of about 12 – 13 hairs and I think one possibly two pieces of fiber taken into evidence that day. It is this that has me going. I suppose I should just get over it!
Why did Cindy ‘leak’ this info (aka the ‘snake’ sighting) to relate James Hoover to what seems to be an early calls by Kronk, followed by the police responses. How would the Anthony’s know about this– we’ve already had a good discussion about that– simple, George and friends, easily monitoring radio calls from in and around the area would have been a simple matter.
What did James Hoover have to do with this? Could he have been on one of those trips to investigate the area earlier, and if so, did this relate to an Anthony checking of the calls and the related areas, and did Hoover then talk about the snake he saw there, maybe months afterwards in Brad’s office.
There was no apparent reason for Cindy, in her Mn’M depo, to detail some of the chat that happened in Brad Conway’s office, Cindy doesn’t do this sort of thing without purpose. Cindy didn’t have a lot of use for Hoover, her PI did not either from his comments, and Cindy herself, added in her depo, that she at first, thought Hoover was ‘a stalker’.
So what was Cindy alluding to in this apparently ‘unrelated and out of the blue’ story of Hoover’s snake sighting chat.
That would (if same August dead rattler sighted by Hoover) connect the Anthony’s and their PI or PI’s, to the specific area of the snake and to very close proximity to the skull and remains around the time of Roy Kronk’s reports.
And if there is this connection, what was Baez told about the snake (and his PI’s role/Hoover’s role) sighting at the crime scene–
(no relation I’m sure, but there is a little rattlesnake cartoon on the psychic Lucas’s website, along with a dowser character)
Leonard Padilla and crew. So what’s the story? Supposedly L.P came riding into Orlando on a white charger and got hoodwinked by Casey and Co.. Didn’t he read anything about the case before posting Casey’s bond?
The next chapter has him bad-mouthing Cindy and sagely proclaiming Casey the number one suspect. Then we learn about Leonard’s team in their protective duty and their viewpoint mainly that Casey seems to be a real kook.
Later, we learn about Leonard “conferring” with the defense. What does the Padilla crew have to offer the defense that we haven’t heard, yet? Asking Leonaard’s crew, (using Lenoard’s question to Tracey): “Are you sure you told Nick Savage everything that went on in that house?”
Finally, according to Leonard himself, he and his whole office, especially Tracey M., are “down and depressed” about the latest discovery documents: syringe, gatorade bottle, ect.. when no one official has tied these discoveries to the case. Leonard seems to imply that he and everyone in his office all feel betrayed. What gives?
All the Padilla crew confuse me with their sharp-angled turns. I would say they worry me, but I am hoping that they turn out to be only a sidebar to the real case, just extra “draaaama”.
Here’s the most likely scenario for a program like 48 hours: They were not acting as a documentary crew. You rarely see that unless they have taped inside a courtroom when a verdict is read. They aren’t going to spend the time and energy to trail the subjects in their natural habitats for weeks or months on end, acting like a “fly on the wall” with raw material and then edit down. So what they will probably do is ask something like, what do you normally do while at home, do you see friends, does Casey have supporters, yadda yadda? So you say you read your bible, okay, why don’t you sit down and read and we’ll get a shot of that. Maybe they will let her pick out where she would normally sit, or they might suggest something based on lighting. So you babysit your friend’s daughter, where does she usually play? Okay, so we’ll get a shot of her playing in Caylee’s room like she usually does….
Did you ever notice how many times 48 hours uses a formulaic shot of people walking outdoors? Do you think that they just happened upon these people taking a stroll outside? No, they are directed outside for a shoot. Okay, now walk towards the camera…yadda yadda. So many of their programs have people walking or sitting outside looking pensive, it has become cliche. So they probably shot the interview and footage in a day or so. I believe it is meant to be representational, but it is not a true documentary. I Hope that kind of clears things up.
Someone can always email or call them , if they like, and ask them specifically how the whole thing works with their program. It may verify or discount my assertions.

I wanted to add to my last post that it is possible that the media consultant suggested to the Anthonys that they have their friend & her daughter on the show, rather than the 48 hours producer, but it could have gone either way, in my opinion.
In any event, it would have been the ultimate decision made by the Anthonys as to whether anyone else would appear with them at their home on the program. And of course, those appearing would need to sign a release.
kleat, i do get your point, but in fairness, i fear alot of “news” segments are staged—some infamously so, as i recall Dateline News planting rockets under a Ford Pinto (and overfilling the gas tank, and leaving the gas cap off) to demonstrate how the car could explode during a crash. yeesh. So its probably no surprise that many things we see are set-ups. heck, sometimes they reshoot pieces of reality shows, including immunity challenges on Survivor—if the lighting was bad or the camera wasn’t ready or whatever.
If we want to give cindy the benefit of the doubt (ha! sometimes i crack myself up) we might imagine that producers asked her to describe what she does these days, and she mentioned that she sometimes babysits and they liked that angle, and since they have to fit things into the production schedule rather than waiting for reality to unfold, they borrowed the kid for a photo op. Doesn’t necessarily mean she never babysits the kid in real life…
In the end, i don’t see anything unusual or untoward with that segment of the cindy show—it’s just how things are done.

I will preface my statement by admitting that I am the ultimate cynic, (yes I know this surprises no one), but Leonard Padilla saw an opportunity from the get-go to insert himself in what he recognized as a high profile, media laden case; not unlike many others that attached themselves. It appears, to me, that he will say or do nearly anything to keep “it *” (*attention on him) going. If one group or individual blows him off, he attaches himself to the next group. I believe his primary goal is to maintain some sort of celebrity. If it is simply for celebrity or if that is secondary to riches, I don’t know. He may have sincerely wanted to help in some manner, but I believe that that goal was lower on this agenda list. Before anyone goes nuts on me, I’m not saying that he is a terrible person, I don’t know him. I just believe that his primary motivation was to take advantage of the situation for attention. He may have admitted as much himself.
westsidehudson, i was once shot by Dateline in one of those walking-looking-pensive shots, and they made me walk into the same building over and over again until they got the shot they wanted—and it wasn’t even a building i would have been walking into, but it worked for their story. staging within staging, lol
suz
LOL_ I would have had an inappropriate smile on my face walking aimlessly in and out of a building. I don’t think that I could have maintained “pensive” under such a farce.
It’s nice that you give the Anthonys the benefit of the doubt, but whether or not Cindy actually babysits (sometimes, all the time, once?), to me, is beside the point. What was presented in that show was a carefully crafted counter to the other appearances (ie Morgan) that the Anthonys made. Remember ALL of Cindy’s testimony. Lots of spin. Why would it be any different with how she responds to questions from a news magazine? Hmmmm.
Baez Talks With News 13 About His Defense Strategy
http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2009/11/18/baez_talks_with_news_13_about_his_defense_strategy.html
will Mallory’s deposition be made public? also everyones talking now like there is GOING to be a trial. what are others opinions? thanks
martha, i for one hope there will be a trial as I will be fascinated to see how the state frames its case and how the defense chips away at the evidence. Because there is clearly something not normal about casey, I think there’s a good chance she’ll “let it ride” and go for the trial, hoping and hoping for a mistrial. But the smart money seems to be on ‘plea bargain’.
WSH, well, yes, of course things are crafted. There’s very little presented to us without “spin” (and I am speaking as a corporate shill). It should be no surprise to us that the Ants took money to do a news story designed in part to rehab their image—why would they agree to be featured on a program that slammed them, when they already get that 24 hours a day?
I’m more stunned that this story has been pushed to page 2 on Blink’s site. And one day, it will be over entirely (subject to appeal i guess). That will be weird.
Suz
I am with you on this one. I am disappointed that we are coming to page too to read or post on this case.
The Seafoam Mamas!
A review the 48 Hrs video, it’s Ms. Linda K-B who set the stage for the ‘seafoam’ matching outfits!! Likely unknowingly, but she was wearing, albeit a more luxurious, seafoam green jacket over her draping of black jewels on her black sweater. Ms. K-B, wore her perhaps silk, or finished lustrous linen jacket as she sat between her male counterparts and was the main focus of the 48 Hrs interview of the defense team.
Perhaps Casey and Ms. Lyon joined in the trio, with their plain, but still Seafoam couture. Perhaps the fashion theme could be ‘From Jail to Judge’. Casey might have thought that was neat, her very own connection to the 48 Hrs show.
The three sea foam ladies– matching all for one, and one for all.
I would like to say how sad that I was to hear that little shanaya was found dead. I didnt see any real grief in the mothers voice or facial actions to say she was upset. not Like shanayas daddy !! now he was quite broken over his daughters disappearance/death. So different from casey and the anthonys.
sosad, the Baez story about his defense strategy, had nothing to do with Casey Anthony or her case, it was about his success with another client facing life.
(and do we think he would be getting this kind of attention without the ‘profitable’ media case he’s already built? Nor without Cindy’s help doing whatever she had to do by any means, to keep the media attention growing? Baez owes Cindy a paycheck!!
chica, it’s awful about Shaniya. Poor thing never had a chance. Such a cute and happy kid. Blink has said she can’t even bring herself to write about it.
I felt the other way about the mom, though. (Obviously, I was wrong.) I thought she did a great job on her fake 911 call (up until one point, when she got kind of calm, but certainly much better than Richard Heeny and wife). And she looked nice—not all skinny and druggy and ratty. Even Mario Andretti whatzit didn’t look mean or evil to me, but obviously that’s not the case. Whereas that dad—I liked him at first, but now i think he’s just showboating, probably to impress the ladies. What does he have, 5 kids by 3 baby mommas? Feh, I think he’s getting more credit than he is due. Horribly sorry for his loss, but I think it will come out that he’s not a great guy.
I am very proud to say that I have never watched Any show that the Anthony’s have been on. But I did buy the Diane Fanning book and pretty much was based on most of the things we have seen in the news. Other than the fact that Casey was short more than 1/2 credit For her graduation. And working in a high counseling office I know that the parents were warned before 3 days before graduation. At least in our district we start warning the parents at the begging of the school year if their child will be short bye more than 1 credit and again in Jan. if their is a possibility that they will need to look at getting extra credit to graduation or if they just need to pass everything that they are taking. It just seems to be that Cindy was once again choosing to take Casey word over the school which seems to be Cindy way of coping with Casey and allowing Casey to live in Caseyland where the weather is great and not a care in the world. This family has been in denial for a very long time and maybe they are from Anthony land Ohio. I just don’t get it.
MsEnscene, I’m as confused by Padilla as you are! Maybe the pay is better on the defense side although that’s pretty tough to believe these days. Maybe his schizophrenic behavior will become clearer as we approach the trial.
Re: Comment by suz 990
I completely agree with everything you have said regarding the father and was beginning to feel as if I was the only one that felt this way.
BTW – Blink, you have an amazing site here, thank you for all your hard work!
Thanks, kellyjk, I still feel mean for saying it, and it really doesn’t matter if he’s a skunk or not—that kid sure didn’t deserve that ending. On the other hand, I think it was a positive sign to see people so interested in a a child of color who was missing. But i’d rather not see ANYONE go missing anymore, even if it puts Blink out of business. : )
Suz I would welcome that in a heartbeat, you have no idea.

From WESH TV
On the eve of Roy Kronk’s deposition, George and Cindy Anthony’s lawyer said the couple does not want to see Kronk dragged through the mud.
The former meter reader who found slain toddler Caylee Anthony’s remains is expected to face hours of questioning Thursday from Casey Anthony’s defense.
He is the man who brought the search for Caylee to a close last December. Sources said the defense for Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, has done a lot of digging, asking a lot of questions about Kronk’s past.
Casey Anthony is in the Orange County Jail charged with first-degree murder in Caylee’s disappearance.
The Anthonys’ attorney said Kronk’s personal life and the circumstances of discovering the remains are different things. George and Cindy Anthony’s attorney said all they want is the truth from Kronk and not dirt about his past.
“They have been vilified unfairly. They know what it’s like to be under a microscope unfairly and they don’t want that to happen to someone who found their granddaughter,” attorney Brad Conway said.
In the only interview he has done, Kronk said he figured out where Caylee’s remains were on his own and he had nothing to do with her disappearance, but speculation about him was everywhere.
“You try to do the right thing. The sad thing is people believe some of the things being said,” Kronk said.
His attorney told WESH 2 Thursday that Kronk has some things in his past he’s not proud of, but none of that has any bearing on his discovery of Caylee’s remains or that he’s been truthful about how it occurred.
Conway said that’s all the Anthonys want from Kronk.
“Personal issues versus what happened to discover Caylee’s remains are two different things They want him to be full and complete about what happened,” Conway said.
Kronk’s lawyer, David Evans, declined an on-camera interview.
They don’t talk about how they have trashed Mr. Kronk, though. They are asking for the “truth”, imagine.
Let me be as plain as I can with regard to this statement on behalf of the Anthony’s.
They want his personal life out of it… UNTIL TRIAL.
B
lol kleat
maybe a couple of pay checks ya think.
All the ANTHONY’S want is the truth? Well, if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle dark gray, then I don’t know what is. They want Kronk to be full and complete about what happened? Am I in the twilight zone? How about demanding George and Cindy to be full and complete about what happened, and for them to be full and completely TRUTHFUL? They want the best of both worlds…they want everyone else, except for them, to spill what they know and their livelyhoods, but when it comes to the true participants in this, they provide misleading, lying, contradicting stories and statements. How about they be truthful about their involvement, be truthful about their lying depositions, etc. Am I the one who needs to be medicated, or is this a rational argument?
Kronk, another ‘spin victim’ in the set up, now being used to show ‘humanity’ of the Anthony’s, compassion, no mud bogging. Is Brad that gullible or is he doing whatever it takes for the defense position, also, while putting a nicer superficial face on his clients?
He is working with the defense team as directed by his clients.
B
Exactly, Blink. I’m on the fence about him as yet, but still glad he found Caylee and the A’s should be too, although they are still dening that was her body. So very sad. You know if they stayed out of it altogether, it would probably be alot more helpful to her daughter. I re-watched the last court appearance and could not help but notice the rage that showed on her face when the prosecutor talked about being there, not for the family, but for Caylee. Also, when Judge Strickland asked Mr. Conway for permission from the family to process the CD’s of the pictures. She was not a happy person. So different that the first few times that she appeared in court and of course, the famous high-five with Lee.
Waiting patiently for the trials to start.
Todd in Tulsa,
I agree. Medication…mhmm. I think the only medication that is truly needed is some truth serum.
I’d much rather have The Anthony’s come out with their belief one way or another. Do they now believe it is in fact Caylee, or do they reserve the right to change their minds again if it helps the defense.
I listened to the tape of Casey’s interviews with Le again, today. I still can not grasp how much she lied. I mean, they had her agreeing that she lied and that she wasn’t working at Universal ect. But the moment those investigators left the room she started telling the exact same lies to a new officer. Her lies had just been proven false and her she was spouting off the same story. Unbelievable.
