Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Plea Sans Adjudication In Court Today
Orlando, FL– By this afternoon, we could see Casey Marie Anthony convicted of up to 13 felony counts in the fraud trial scheduled for today at 1:30PM EST. Live Link
Over the last week, the legal wranglings, sentencing hypotheticals and LexisNexis databases where burning up the skype accounts of all the legal analysts in Or Lawn Do. I experienced it first-hand as I was in town last week:It was palpable.
According to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, the plea negotiations between the State and Jose Baez, defense counsel for Casey Anthony in this matter, broke down over the amount of felonies she would agree to plead to, and the matter of adjudication. WFTV analyst Bill Schaeffer does a nice job discussing the importance from a legal perspective, here.
The afternoon face off between Linda Drane Burdick, Jeff Ashton and the defense team for Casey Anthony is expected to seek Judge Stan Strickland’s ruling on her sentencing and the issue of withholding adjudication which is the anticipated position of her defense.
Simply stated, there is no basis given the known facts of the case to argue that Casey’s actions constituted a necessity, agreement from the wronged party or victim, or any as yet unknown to us allegations such as needing cash for the nanny or kidnapping ransom.
While the defense does have a strong argument to be made that Ms. Anthony is a first time offender and Judge Strickland has already indicated that he will treat her accordingly, I have a suggestion for the State.
I submit aquiring tacky white sunglasses through fraudulent, felonies means, using said stolen property to perpetuate further fraudulent activity, followed by wearing them to your attorney’s office after you have been arrested for same, constitutes a spree. Adjudicate at will.

Hi Chica, The post I made yesterday was a comment I had copied and pasted from the newspaper. It was relating to the motions filed by Baez. The posting was from another person who also follows this case. Does this make sense? I found it interesting because this person who says she has inside information from someone let us in on a few things regarding DC and the Anthonys. I am hoping her source is correct.

So that leads me to believe that there is no inside scoop. I believe that that person has excerpted, from various sites, including this one, speculation that we have all been making. Until something comes of it, it is one person making a lot of sensational claims. Although I do believe that it may have something to do with D Casey, I don’t know about all the other stuff. We will know if the judge rules in favor of the defense though. So maybe you want to root for them on this one, lol.

Amazing. I really believe the theory of the Timer55 being 55 days until the vacation in PR. Coupled with evidence that the P/W was changed on May 14th, the same day she texted AH about “trip on”. I am astounded by the amount of lies the entire family will tell to “try” to protect Casey. That is Casey’s greatest manipulation feat to date. I’m starting to believe (theory only) that the PR trip was the main motive for Casey to rid herself of Caylee when she did. She just had to go on that trip and knew care for Caylee would be a big issue. She had bigger problems to deal with like ” who will I steal money from to go on the trip”. Maybe she took the “missing” $400.00 from AH (sleep walking $$) to begin her money collection for the trip. She only bailed out of going at the 12th hour claiming she needed to find a home and get a new car. She just could not steal enough for airfare, new vaca clothes and entertainment funds. I feel certain this will never go to trial but would love to see KC, CA, LA and GA take the stand just to see how straight they all have their stories. Remember. . . the truth is a memory, a lie is something that has no memory attached, just a story.

I actually had to go in and correct every bit of that after the benevolent, omniscient Maura pointed out an error about the May 14th password change. The password appears to have been changed FROM timer55 to rico23 (not rico234 as I had been MISreading). So this kind of blows the whole timer55 is associated with the PR trip, which makes no difference at all to me, because I tended to always believe the timer55 had NO importance whatsoever.
I don’t normally correct things I write, but instead put a correction at the top, but in this instance I felt like leaving the error would lead to more confusion over something that’s not important in the first place! lol So I corrected.
In short – it appears timer55 NEVER meant a damned thing as far as the PR trip or the “Zenaida story” (just as I figured).

NeJame stated the defense team’s motion is “inaccurate and lacking in demonstrating any proper investigation or due diligence prior to its filing.”
“If counsel for the Defendant had conducted a proper inquiry he would have ascertained that none of the previously approximately 4,000 undisclosed names of the searchers were shown, reviewed, or looked at by Adam Longo, reporter for Central Florida News 13,” NeJame wrote. “In fact, those approximately 4,000 names of the searchers were in a separate box and in a separate office located approximately fifteen (15) miles away when Mr. Longo was present.”
NeJame stated Longo communicated this information to Baez, who has not withdrawn his “inappropriate and inaccurate motion which misrepresents the facts and is wholly and completely erroneous and misleading.”
NeJame also asked that Strickland assess attorney’s fees against Casey Anthony’s defense team, “especially since he has been advised of the inaccuracy of his motion and has failed to take any remedial actions.”
“He has caused unnecessary attorney time and Court time to be wasted, especially since he has been fully advised of its misrepresentations and inaccuracies and nevertheless continues to proceed,” NeJame wrote.
I’ve been listening to some old audio tapes of Casey’s interviews. Just noticed that when she says “Zenaida”,she does not pronounce the D as an American would, like hard D. She pronounces it as if she’s Hispanic — with her tongue between her teeth. I know it doesn’t mean anything, but just found it interesting that she pronounces Zenaida with somewhat of a Spanish accent.

And one more thing that just occurred to me. In Casey’s interview at Universal, she’s talking to one of the detectives and refers to “Yuri”. What the heck is that? This 22-year-old punk who’s been lying all day to the police doesn’t even have enough respect for LE to call him Detective Melich. It’s been a long time since I was 22, but if I was being interviewed by the police in the disappearance of my child, I certainly wouldn’t be calling the detectives by their first names!
ellejay~ the motion that you linked is hilarious. I’m not a legal eagle but really that a) sounds so immature and b) sounds like he’s telling the judge his business. Is this how it’s done??? I just have to hope even if it’s done, a pro could phrase it to not sound like a spoiled child.

Reply to #6 Westsidehudson – I again, tried to talk to my LE source, and because of all the speculation on the blogs saying “an inside source”, he has gotten even more tight lipped. But he laughed when I asked if their were jail tapes of Baez and Casey in inappropriate behaviours (which to me means “NO”). Although I’ve heard that there was inappropriate behaviour seen in Baez’s office with Casey. He also said that if someone in LE was “leaking” even the most insignificant information to anyone, heads would roll. What he has told me was general, and with my personal inference from my relationship with him, and what his sarcastic looks and smiles mean to my questions.
Unless someone is willing to put up or shut up, or perhaps BLink has more resources, I would be willing to bet that most “inside info” is pure conjecture, and some “inference” like mine from what is not said or answered.
Just a thought with all the ramblings of Dominic in hiding, and Baez about to be rolled.

There are posts on the In Session blog from May 26-27, 2009, which say much of the same things that Lily_Marie was posting about Baez and KC and an inappropriate relationship – which was relayed through someone who has direct contact with one of Baez’ ex secretaries. (not a law enforcement source)
The same blogger said that an elderly, very wealthy couple in CT sends the Anthony’s money every month, that they feel sorry for them and also gives money to help pay for Casey’s defense. A person in a position to know this, relayed it to the In Session blogger.

Please read the posts from Apex (5:23 and 5:26). Here is just some of the information that, according to my LE contact, WILL BE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE in due time.
1). When Casey was out on bond (and visiting with Baez on a daily basis for upwards of 6 hours a day), she and Baez had sex daily (in a conference room, in his office and in the bathroom). Casey was the ‘aggressor’, and did not care that two secretaries and a paralegal found out about it. Multiple people know about this (and will swear to what they witnessed under oath). CINDY knows about it (but will never say anything truthful under oath unless she thinks it will help her daughter!!). Casey and Cindy think this has given Casey ‘leverage’ against her lawyer, but Baez could care less about people finding out—he’s only in it for the money and attention. Baez has known from the start that Casey is guilty of premeditated murder 1 and told this to several staff members of the Baez Law Firm. At least one paralegal has quit the firm due to Baez’s completely unethical and illegal behavior. When visiting his office daily on bond, Casey brought in entire photo albums of Caylee pictures for Baez to sell for her defense. Judge Strickland wants Baez disbarred after Casey is found guilty. 2). Dominic Casey (the PI first hired by Baez and then by the Anthonys) is going to turn State’s witness against the defense. He has insider knowledge of both the illegal operations of both Baez and Cindy A. He is stringing Cindy along and telling her he will protect their secrets, but has told Prosecutors otherwise. He wants to come clean (God Bless him!!). This will be a bombshell depo. Just wait and see. Casey learned a lot from Momma Cindy, as Cindy decided to pursue a sexual relationship with Dom Casey in the Fall of ’08 to try and let “leverage” over him. This just proves how desperate the Anthony “women” are!! Cindy thinks she has Dom Casey “under her spell” but he is personally disgusted by her. Cindy is so delusional, in fact, she still thinks she has “people under the radar” to do her bidding (remember the discovery docs) but everyone is ready to turn on her. Overall, Orlando is exhausted and disgusted by the Anthony family and is ready for the FAMILY SECRETS TO BE EXPOSED.

My Orlando source has never been wrong yet—-so I stand by what I wrote on this blog earlier. It is actually “old news” over at the Prosecutor’s office that Casey and Baez engaged in sex while she was out on bond. (It was new info for me! ewwww….). My understanding is that many people know about this, but no one wants Baez disbarred and kicked off the case until Casey is found guilty. Judge Strickland still has an active bar complaint against Baez (and it is RARE for a judge to do this!!!) but as far as I know, this has to do with Baez being unethical and selling Caylee pics to pay for the defense. Cindy has been openly affectionate with Dom Casey in the past, calls him “her rock” and HAS NO CLUE that he is truly going to “flip” on her. The reason for the delay in his depo has to do with the fact he wants to turn state’s witness in the case and come clean. I only hope others begin to tell the truth. Wouldn’t that be refreshing????

Oh–and the latest from my Orlando colleagues is that Dominic Casey has been spilling and spilling those beans on the Anthonys and the defense. I can’t wait to hear more of what he’s revealed. Apparently, even Dom Casey knew about the inappropriate and unethical sexual relationship between Casey and Baez. The defense is DESPERATELY trying to prevent any of those jail meeting videos to be released. After all, you don’t need audio to decipher the language of sleeeeze.

Anyone seen a copy of this yet? Would this indicate a pros. motion, it seems when it is a defense motion or action, the clerk lists ‘Defense’. I don’t know if this is always the case.
Could this be a long awaited deposition?

i agree chica—-i’ve seen the hearings where the state (has to take the time) to come before the judge and debate the defense motions—-that are wrongly worded, improper, etc etc etc..
..does he not realize he’s defending a capital murder case ????
..in this case, (as i read it)—he’s crying the blues b/c the state is asking for the same thing he(baez) asked for last march.
..yet, ( again, as i read it ) he asked for “ex parte”, the state is now asking for ex parte “in camera”.
..the denial to baez last year stated that he asked for the wrong thing to begin with——-thus denied.

There is still something ‘off’ about the poster. I can’t imagine that the judge, knowing that there was an inappropriate relationship between Baez & Anthony would let the charade go on. It is too ripe for an appeal. I see Strickland as one who tries desperately to bend over backwards to avoid that scenario. It could be someone trying to ‘flame up’ the forums. The person who was discovered to be OE, as determined by CD, was actually someone who ranted on both sides of the spectrum. It is possible that this is the same person.
I think that the prosecutor’s office has been extraordinarily cautious about leaks. They don’t want to lose the case by someone blabbing on a forum , so I find it hard to believe that a person from a different DA’s office is tossing all of this sensation into the wind. I would imagine that there would have been a ‘slap down’ from the prosecutors directly involved in the case. Is it possible that this person was previously an intimate confidante of the Anthonys? Sure, but, it could as easily be someone speculating and either trying to get attention and buzz, or trying to psych out the Anthonys as a vendetta. Even if some things turn out to be true, it’s not like some of that stuff hasn’t been circulating as rumor.
Time will tell.
As speculation, perhaps the Anthony’s friend Holly’s husband has offered info to the prosecutor? No longer feeling restricted to a confidence shared with him by his estranged wife?
Even if that is the case, I can’t imagine that the prosecutor would sanction this kind of behavior on public forums.
Okay, so whether true, or not, I seriously doubt that this person has a real connection to LE or the state.

Casey’s Defense Wants Private Meeting Denied

According to a notice filed in court Friday, prosecutors will question the ex-wife of the Orange County meter reader who found Caylee’s remains. Casey’s defense team says Jill Kerley’s testimony will prove her ex-husband, Roy Kronk, should be a suspect in Caylee’s murder. She claims Kronk bound her with duct tape while they were married.
Prosecutors will question Kerley under oath via Skype on February 25.
In regards to post #44, whoever this Lily_Marie is, she lifted verbatim parts of my post on Scared Monkeys, where I was speculating wildly about what the in camera stuff was about. There are certain phrases in my post that were used by her. I have no connections whatsoever to LE, the prosecution, the defense, and NO insider knowledge of any kind. That’s why I was so surprised to see the original post by her, with my feeble attempts to be amusing included. Hope that clears up some of this.

Good morning, Monkeys! I’m having some computer problems–(a malware nasty has turned my computer screen into a black hole–It’s called Vista Guardian, and it tries to get you to purchase antivirus software, but really it steals your credit card info. You need to get a computer guru, (at least I need to,) to install something to fix it.) Which is why I’m at the library to get my monkey fix.
At any rate, I woke up at 4 am in a cold sweat, (HEH! as James Brown used to say.) and had a thought. Here’s the scenario I’ve imagined. Dominic Casey has finally turned on the A’s, because he’s in a big ol’ tub of trouble. He knew Caylee was dead and was told where the remains were by, most likely, Cindy, during pillow talk. He also knows that Baez and Casey were, ahem, inappropriate, to say the least, and there is SOMETHING on the video tapes at the jail. Baez is going to be booted out as defense counsel, and censured, for unethical behavior. Cindy and George are going to be offered a deal to avoid obstruction charges. Dominic is in protective custody–and he will spill it all. We will find out what’s going on because someone won’t be able to keep his or her mouth shut. What do you all think? Does that sound plausible? (Obviously, I think about this case too much.)

Mr. Nejames is going to MOP THE FLOOR with Baez, and expect a good SMACKDOWN from Judge Strickland. Here’s the very latest from my excellent source in FLA:
1. Dom Casey has indeed turned on the Anthonys because he was facing a heap of trouble himself! He is in protective custody and has begun spilling ALL the beans to SAO. He knew poor Caylee was dead and was told where to find her remains by Cindy (pillowtalk??!). Cindy has been the ringleader for a small band of deluded jerks who are on a campaign to spread reasonable doubt. There is a lot of illegal stuff going on with the ‘Team Caylee/Yuku’ group and they are going down. Cindy and George (who is very P.O.ed at his wife, btw) are desperate to negotiate a plea deal for themselves because there is probable cause for Obstruction of Justice charges!!
2. Dom Casey also knows all about the (ahem) “inappropriate relationship” between Baez and Casey (yuk!) and SURPRISE there is SOMETHING on the jail tapes!!! Baez is going to removed as defense counsel and censured for unethical conduct.
All in all, it’s been a very interesting few days and look for the Baez and Anthony house of cards to come crashing down soon.
