I just realized who Bass’ wife is. She’s a wonderful artist. My husband always mentions her when we talk about buying something new for the walls. She is also a *delightful* lady, probably someone whom, in other circumstances, Gil Harrington would befriend. I am pained for the Bass couple all over again. This whole thing affects so many people, wonderful people at that.

When they say the house was rented out to UVA grad students at one time, that almost certainly means law school students. It was tradition for 2nd and 3rd year law students to rent these types of cool old houses. Business school people would do it too, but not as much. There are a couple of dozen such houses and they generally get passed down year to year (or every two years) from one group of law students to another younger group. Pretty often, the home owner doesn’t even have to look for new tenants. The houses all have their own dates when they will hold parties — at least one date in february for almost all of them and then a couple of other parties throughout the year. Its not an every month type deal though.

I really doubt the happy hippy is a UVA law school grad.

Think about it…Death from exposure for a young strong girl in October in Virginia would take a long time.

She would have had to go into shock. I just don’t see her being there passed out for a long enough period of time to not wake up before death set in. Once the sun came up, I doubt it would have been too cold. I am no expert on exposure death, but my common sense just tells me not likely.

Also, someone had to have at least escorted her to that remote location, no?

Where the hell has that guy been for the last three months?! Is it worth it to keep that tidbit (I partied with Morgan that night in the foothills of Virginia) under your hat for the opportunity to avoid the glare of suspicion? Hardly.

She was brutally attacked and murdered in my opinion.

We agree. More importantly, who knows someone fitting the general description of our unsub and was off from work yesterday and or today?

@ lizzy above–violent offender doesn’t bode well; however, was vic male or female? NYS gives that out–I didn’t see it on the VA RSO site.

I agree completely with the comment by M. of January 27, 2010 @ 5:15 pm as follows:

“I believe she died the night of Oct 17 and that the crime took place away from the farm. October 17 was dark, cold, rainy and the location difficult to get to. I believe her body has been hidden somewhere else, and the perp moved to to the farm sometime later when he could do so and no one would think twice about seeing him on an ATV or other vehicle – e.g., someone with permission to hunt or be on the property for other reasons. I believe the evidence at the scene will support that.”

6. cvilleconcerned says:

Yes, to all of the various local Albemarle (and Louisa) County comments.
These are not Nebraska fields. We are in the Piedmont (use wikipedia folks), hills, bluffs, RED CLAY, rocks and water…everywhere. Plus lots and lots of Virginia Cypress, which is dense, dark and dampens sound very well. When red clay is wet you need 4 wheel drive; completely unnavigable, but when it’s dry it is rock hard, it cracks during drought. The old house on the Bass property is registered with National Historic Places = No trashy tenants, the place has to be kept in good preservation order. Google satellite maps for the county are not up-to-date! They are apx. 3 years old; I know this based on recent development near where I live. The houses developed near me have been long completed but the satellite image still shows cleared lots or still wooded areas. Also when you use Google maps, satellite view, please remember to click on the drop down menu and check the labels box. You will then see all of the roads in the area which are not noticable with just the plain satellite view. One more, these farms, many now subdivided, are very old; 1700′s through post Civil War. The properties were farmed and utilized all through the recent up-scale development of the past 20 years; ergo, lots of secret back access, unpaved, narrow dirt roads. There are still many locals whose past relatives worked these properties and know these egresses well. Unfortunately lots of hard work for LE and also maybe no answers for any of us.

i think its possible that the perp went to anchorage farms with morgan because he had been there before maybe through friends that used to live in one of the houses. this farm reminds me of a place near my college. i went to penn state and twice a year, in early fall and late spring, this farm about 15 miles from campus would have a music festival..it wasn’t an official music festival but it was pretty much all local bands that came and everyone stayed up partying and camping…i think its totally feasible that an event like this could have brought lots of college kids and their friends to the farm..

i’m also wondering if any of the people who have been discussed previously through comments on this site have been spoken to by police in the past 24 hours. as i have some suspicions about one of them in particular.

Oh, this is curious: EH’s (RSO’s) registration is shown on the Va RSO site as having been renewed 1-25-2010–the day before Morgan’s discovery–and I don’t think it was there this morning when I looked. I could swear I remember one or two August dates re EH’s reregistration/failure to register. So I’m thinking his defense attorney was called prior to the (possible placement and?)discovery of Morgan’s remains–maybe trying to make EH look a shade more responsible, or hoping to thwart either an extra charge against him or a reason for picking him up?

Day of the fire down the road.

Wait, are we speculating (as I myself was doing last night) that 1) any of her credit cards were actually used post concert-exit, as Dr. H’s non-answer seemed to confirm, and 2) that the actual card that was used was later found in/with the purse?

Are there facts now backing this up?

Facts that have been released, or facts that haven’t?

12. Rob says:

one minor point – so please excuse me just this once. But I feel I need to clarify my comments / posts. When I say “LOCAL” this could be either a person transplanted to the area for school or work. This COULD also denote a person born and breed in Charlottesville.

I have been probably using the wrong linguistics. When I have been saying “LOCAL” – I should have been saying “TOWNIE”. My personal belief is the person who took Morgan’s life is from Charlottesville, knows the land and “cruises”.

Charlottesville is a very diverse area. With people coming in for the weekend from Washington to get away, people traveling down for dinner, kids coming from all over going to school, people who are opening businesses, and of course the guy that loved Little John’s tuna salad. Not to leave out people coming from all over to see Metallica.

When I lived in Charlottesville – I was astonished that people would drive 50-100 miles at the drop of a hat. Where I’m from people are accustomed to driving 10 miles and being where the stadiums, art galleries, and major businesses centers are located.

I haven’t followed the story closely for a few months, and I dont have free time to read all of the posts but I think that it was a local person who was very familiar with the landscape and that farm.

Please if you are a local or not please stay viligant for any odd or unusual behaviors from anyone, especially in the last or next few days.

My thoughts and prayers go to the Harrington family. I am so sad and angered about this…words cannot describe it! I hope LE catches the perp and please put a hurt on him in the process. Your days are numbered and you will pay for your sins, one way or another…

I dont know if it is a serial killer or not but justice must be served! Justice for Morgan and justice for all…

Ugh, me again.
I hope this weather link works, it is the historical forecast for Albemarle County for October 2009: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KVACHARL19&day=16&year=2009&month=10&graphspan=month
Based on that months total rainfall, it was more than possible to drive on the dirt and clay in a regular pick-up truck. It only rained a little on the 15th and I clearly remember it was misty on the 17th not raining.
In my opinion, yes a regular truck could drive off-road on that night. My landlord has cut our field, on a steep slope, via a 1950′s tractor after a normal rain, leaves deep tracks but can be done.

I am hearing the same thing from everyone that has ever been on that farm I spoke to.

rvrb, farm use is a wonderful thing, and it’s a good question.

Who helps him hump the hay when it’s ready for baling? Does he sell it or store it all for his own cattle? Does he have his own round baler and do it all himself?

Is that his livestock, or does he let other folks keep their cattle on his land? If his, I assume he sells the calves at the cattle auction from time to time. Usually by doing that you can get enough money just selling off calves (and any ringleader cows who are naughty and always testing the fences, or your bull if you have one and he gets too big to breed without hurting your cows, or if he’s a dud instead of a stud) to pay for their upkeep. It’s pretty low cost to keep cattle if you aren’t giving them hormones and antibiotics or expensive feed. Especially if you make your own hay. Then it’s just the maintenance of the fences and all that, plus if you pay someone to haul them to market, or doctor ‘em if needed.

Are those pleasure horses behind the electrified fence? Or does he breed ‘em or board ‘em or stud ‘em?

That huge farm must be worth a pretty penny.

I have been checking this site daily since the beginning and the one day I didn’t was the day they found Morgan. I found out this morning when I woke up and have been reading and processing and researching all day. My heart goes out to the Harrington’s and I hope they will find the peace that Morgan now has.
I still feel it could be any number of scenarios or possible perpetrators. Could be serial, could be stranger, could be person she knew, could be an ex, could be an accident covered up. I don’t think the location of her body rules anything out, but it certainly seems likely this person knew of this location and did not stumble upon it randomly.
Redly that information about the RSO’s profile being updated today certainly raises some red flags. 2 sex crimes within two years and he lives right down the road from where her body was found? Only time will tell, but let’s hope we get some answers quickly and the person who holds those answers is punished accordingly.

J2K: Hey! Working it all out. My sister was running from one of these and lost so it just hit me hard but am ready to get on with it! Although, it makes me sick to my stomach, I am ready to bang a few ideas around concerning a story of “Maybe?”.

“fish -
I hope you’re right on that last part, and I believe you will be.
… Not sensing the first part is on the money, though. There would have been such a small window – literally between 9:25 and 9:30,”

J2K: Concerning the last part. Please check for yourself. VA Court System and Sex Offender Registry. The slip through the cracks? Look at dates concerning his record. Caught speeding yet failed to register is on record. Didn’t that come up on the dash? Does one get pulled in right then and there, for this? Hello, an attorney out there?

Plus, how’s this for timing…

He finally registers on MONDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010!!!!! HEH???????

As to the first part…

Maybe, this was a very, very unhealthy relationship(word used loosely). I do not pretend to know!

Maybe, something, maybe nothing and then again, maybe everything!

Maybe, she got “THE” phone call, J2K, no “serendipitous” meeting here!

Maybe, he needed to resolve whatever in his effed-up head and she goes outside,(only God knows) and thus the fighting!

Maybe, Morgan just messed-up but no more than her friends!, does indeed go outside, forgets she can’t get back in!

Maybe, he is outside waiting for her, stalking her, tormenting her!

Maybe, Gramma did see what she saw!

Maybe, someone should see if Gramma remembers a face or discription!

Maybe, he’s still is outside waiting for her, stalking her, tormenting her!

Maybe, Please, remember she tries to get back into arena. She doesn’t seem to me that she wants to leave. If she did then why didn’t she JUST leave!

Maybe, she finally does leave because he is her ONLY RIDE, friends aren’t coming out and she is forced!

Maybe, RAGE is building!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe, he is one lucky mutha-effer and his time is runnin’ out!

Maybe my post above is not that far-fetched, either way there are too many MAYBE’s on this guy!

My post from above:
“He offers her ride back to Harrisonburg, well, because he is going that way. Maybe he doesn’t tell her not all the way and he detours home? Has he slipped through the cracks’ of our criminal justice system?
Maybe, but not gonna’ this time.”

Maybe, Northfield High School?

This same thread above has Roxy’s post #288 I n light of Morgan being found, I believe what she had to say is more relevant.

Roxy’s post snipped:

“Times may change but the way kids think- not so much.
If this was Morgan on the bridge I cannot see her hitchhiking as much as she may have been walking to another destination, like to a relative. It would make perfect sense this person watched her movements and waited until it was the right opportunity. Pulls up beside her and offers her a ride. A passerby(s) witnesses what appears to be her getting into or spotted inside a vehicle. At some point in the night a relationship had already been established as trust worthy so Morgan thought it was ok for she didn’t have far to go…
I think the phone messages, nylons/boots and necklace will play key roles in this investigation. Also, I think her phone took a picture being her only means of security hence the missing battery/chip. The purse, phone case, coat were tossed and found in an area she was known to be or led to believe after this person returned. Driving distance, to and from, would have been within a certain length of time before anyone noticed. Even going as far out to say this person may have had visible marks others thought were odd even when explained. Almost like the degree of injury didn’t fit the excuse or reason.
Perhaps I read too many crime stories but this seems realistic and makes much more sense to me.
Thanks for the ear Blink.- R”

I can see the RSO’s profile being updated today/yesterday because the po po paid a visit and asked, HEY, how come your profile isn’t up to date?? And where were you on the night of Oct 17, etc. etc., and he said I’ll take care of it right away, officers! And he did.

I liken it to Ron marrying Misty before he wound up with a felony statutory rape charge, seeing as he had the full attention of LE at that point.

I only know for sure, fish, that it wasn’t updated on Jan 28, 2010, cuz that’s tomorrow, and that’s my birthday!

23. sue says:

If this guy was in their sights this whole time, but had a rock solid alibi….well, then I would be angrier than you, Fish.

Fish, if she knew this guy before and communicated with him online or whatever, LE knew it from essentially day one. Her computer and phone would have had to tell that tale.

How can he be connected to the fire and it be connected to Morgan if it burns before she is found? This is only possible if the discovery was not random at all. The owner would have had to have been tipped off.

Rader’s demeanor really bothers me.

Something strange here. Maybe the public is being lied to about the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body?

I do not think anyone is being lied to, but I do think fate steps in sometimes. Working on this.

24. Mandy says:

Does anyone know if the farmer was checking his fences prior to the discovery of Morgan’s remains?

If the house fire was involved as a crime scene then it could have been prompted by seeing the farmer out in his fields again, and realizing he would stumble upon Morgan shortly.

Thank you cville for providing this. That’s what I have been thinking but then it threw me into a weird area and I asked myself; “Then what does that say about Mr. Bass’ comments to the contrary?”.

I know he must have been in shock when he found out what he had discovered, and I would hate to be in his shoes. Everywhere I have read indicates they are an upstanding couple, but some of his statements about access to this particular area have made me go “hmm”. I would agree that it is most likely due to the stress of the situation and the timing of his statements. :)

26. suz says:

Given what we know so far (which, granted, ain’t much) I don’t see any reason to believe her body was ever moved, just like I don’t see any need for Caylee’s body to have been moved after it was dumped there. But obviously, I dunno.

28. ross says:

re sue #553

Simply put, hypothermia means the body loses heat faster than it can produce it. Hypothermia happens when a person is exposed to moisture (rain, sweat), wind and cold without adequate clothing and shelter. Your most important task if you are lost is to guard against the effects of hypothermia.

Many people believe that they can only get hypothermia if they are in water during cold seasons, however anyone can get hypothermia in any season, in water and on dry land.

Do not drink alcohol! It clouds the mind and actually speeds heat loss.

Wind and wet

Extreme cold, wet clothes — especially in the presence of wind — and being in cold water can all play a part in increasing your chances of hypothermia. People who are elderly, very young or have certain health issues are especially vulnerable.

Alcohol consumption.

Alcohol greatly increases the chance of hypothermia.
Alcohol may make your body feel warm inside, but it lowers your body’s ability to retain heat. Don’t drink alcohol and operate a boat or other watercraft. Alcohol can impair your ability to navigate the waters, increasing your risk of an accident and of falling into cold water.

Land Hypothermia is often accompanied with moments of disorientation and hallucinations. It is important to be aware how to spot the initial signs of hypothermia.

Common signs to look for are shivering, which is your body’s attempt to generate heat through muscle activity, and the “umbles” — stumbles, mumbles, fumbles and grumbles. These behaviors may be a result of changes in motor coordination and levels of consciousness caused by hypothermia.

Other signs and symptoms may include:

•Slurred speech
•Abnormally slow rate of breathing
•Cold, pale skin
•Fatigue, lethargy or apathy
The severity of hypothermia can vary, depending on how low your core body temperature goes. Severe hypothermia will eventually lead to cardiac and respiratory failure, then death

34. cj says:

I’ve been following along on here all day and one of the things that I always found strange is that is sounds like she was found in the field. In thinking about the location I believe a local hunter is the perp. She was likely killed at another location and her body was placed in the field after the fact. As has been previously mentioned a local hunter would know the area quite well, also a hunter would know that a body in an overgrown field is less likely to be spotted by other hunters than in the wooded areas (where hunters set up position). i also agree with others that someone drove in to the spot at least partially. Furthermore hunters are accustomed to moving thier deer from where it fell back to their truck so moving a 120 lb girl shouldn’t be too challenging.

@Mandy – Bass was what we called a city farmer. He was accepted into the community quickly because he was a super nice guy. He was from Chicago, and if my memory serves me correctly, he was either the founder of, or owned a bunch of Godfather Pizza restaurants. With the back portion of the farm, where his home was located, not having cattle at the time, I doubt he’d have had reason to check the fields. We got 24+ inches of snow Dec 18-19, and a couple major rain storms recently, that would have forced him to go check the fences.

I’m new to this site and some of you are experienced slueths. I suppose you really do need to think outside the norm to solve some murders, but it truly amazes me what some of you come up with.

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. I have been reading since she first dissapeared. I cant say I am shocked at the news of her remains being found, I am just glad that now we have closure and the clues to catch and eventually (hopefully) execute or imprison for life the animal who did this. I am from Richmond, and I cannot help but think of the Taylor Behl case of 2005 (anyone remember that?)17 year old VCU freshman who disappeared one night after leaving a local restaurant, She was found on farmland in Mathews County, and the perp claimed “accidental sex esphyxiation”. He claimed that they were having consensual sex where he accidentally choked her a little too hard, killed her and panicked dumping her in Mathews county. Now, whther she died here and was transported there, or was already in Mathews when she died, we will never really know. Now….is it possible we have a extraordinarily similiar case here??

40. skyler says:

Hi, All — I read backwards, which I shouldn’t — thank you, Blink, for posting the Harringtons’ statements. I missed it due to other pressing issues. I am overwhelmed that they are such grace under fire — and poor Alex –

but, after work while my son is here we actually were driving to the recycle center and got half-way there when I remembered I forgot something — so I turned down this little road only to turn around and it ended up just being a gravel driveway — there was a little cleared area where people have turned around before — but we’ve had a lot of rain, and the ground around here doesn’t perk very well — so I told my kid — hold on — I have a 4-wheel drive SUV — but I was amazed — the car drove right over it in just regular drive — also, this is so unrelated, but it’s my only point of reference — on the discovery channel not long ago was a program about college students in England who set out to make a crop circle overnight — they went into a hay field where the hay was about waist high — and they were able to drive right thru it. They interviewed the farmer who owned the land and whose land had been the site of previous crop circles and he was PO’d to say the least — not only the original crop circle, but people coming and ruining his crops which were his livelyhood —

I only mention that because it showed vehicles driving thru the hay field — and the terrain there gently rolls like the area around Charlottesville.

In the “presser” Dr. H stated they believe Morgan was killed quickly, for which I, too, am grateful, but what is interesting is, I gleaned from his statement they believe she was gone before 11 PM when the concert ended.

So if that is true, if two of our most-discussed PBGs (potential bad guy) can really show they were at the arena the entire time — then I gotta move my cheese and issue that apology I promised.

I’ve also changed my mind that she was hooking up w/ someone pre-planned. I think this was a crime of opportunity. I think this person has a prior criminal record, was either cruising the arena — you know, I just thought about this — I forget what it was called, but the people who have the drugs in the parking lots and move from concert to concert — maybe this was someone who was in the area to score drugs (do people even use that term anymore?), saw Morgan on the bridge or in the area, asked her if she wanted a ride, and the deed was done. I do think it was a local/townie person — meaning someone familiar with the area who had prior knowledge of this farm — i still think she tried to run away from him and he caught up to her and ended her life — I don’t know if it was his original intention to kill her — maybe he just drove down that road because he knew it to be secluded — then things went too far — I think he’s been in jail before, in his mind he was not going back (got news for you, pal!!) and in a rage, silenced Morgan.

I also think perhaps the forensic team and law enforcement only drove their vehicles to a certain point because they were going to scan the crime scene —

I have absolute faith and trust in the forensic/LE teams — this is a case w/ international attention and they will cross their T’s and dot their I’s — plus, on some level, this is personal.

In the VSP “presser” yesterday, the older gentleman, the Col., his expression and voice were genuine — I don’t know if he had had an opportunity to meet w/ the Harringtons, but if he did, it made his job even worse.

Localgirl, Bob-Dog, absolutely let’s get together — when she has some time in the next few days, ask Blink for my email and we’ll coordinate it.

My last thought — it’s not just Morgan who has been in my thoughts these past 30+ hrs., but all of you, as well.

You’ve all become so dear to me, even when I had no idea what Suz or is it Sue and J2K were saying at times — and, showing my age here, what does ‘word’ at the end of the sentence mean ? ha.

I’ve thought about those “friends” of hers, and how awful their lives are going to be for awhile — and was glad of it — I know — but I also thought about poor Mr. Bass — I saw an early interview he gave before LE told him not to talk — there was shock and true sadness in his voice when he realized it was probably Morgan — he always referred to her by name.

I need to keep reading — but wanted to throw my two cents in —

If this guy has any sense at all, he’ll turn himself in — that reward money might still be on the table, and believe me, just from the limited criminal side of the legal work I did, there is no honor among thieves or murderers — they will throw you under the bus for a cigarette –

May it be so ! Word !

love to you all –

Sky

A long time ago I posted a short comment about Albemarle County and I’ll paraphrase myself here. This county is an odd mix of residents. The University of Virginia has attracted many transplants to essentially what was a rural Southern area. These residents encompass a large retiree community and extremely wealthy property owners, who are a bit insular to the reality of what the region was and is. I am confident that Mr. Bass trusts his other landed, neighbors and hired hands to be considerate and respectful of his property boundaries, because that is how he conducts himself. He most likely never needs to have more than superficial, polite contact with hired help or the less erudite members of the community. It’s just a plain fact, no aspersions on my part.

I had recently started to think there was some chance MDH might have just ducked out (brother would have known). Tragically not the case. Suicide seemed unlikely – not because I can draw any conclusions about her or her family but the timing just didn’t fit. No phone battery ever found indicated foul play to me somehow. No necklace on the scene would bolster that, even if no other information gained from site of body.

I can’t help but think the location – Why Here? Why not concealed / buried? Why not in some other, nearby, more secluded but easier to reach site? – will be very telling in narrowing the hunt.

Please try to focus on this location – don’t get bogged down on barb wire or whether or not big tires were needed – no offense. You are smarter than me, but focus on here. Rader indicated the site may be very important – I bet he is right. Befor I go, can someone answer:

1. Has all family been excluded / cleared? I assume yes? Again sorry, I have to ask as I have never seen any statement to that effect. (I try to assume nothing.) I am a scientist not as cop but rule 1 must be eliminate family. Observer?
2. Are there similarities or major differences to Cassandra Morton (no need to discuss the victims, I am referring to the locations). The locals might have insight here?
3. Are there similarities to other unsolved female homicides w/ rural locations of victims in the region?
4. What else does this location tell us about local or associated perp vs. serial? I’m not trying to lead you anywhere – I am blank – but I trust you all will have some insight.

I usually just lurk now and again but these young women cases, CM & MDH, etc. leave me almost as vengeful as the child cases. 2000 miles makes little difference as BOC reverberates. Instead of what has society become? I wonder how can we better find these human debris, get shy of them, or even anticipate them? I think community policing has some answers, moderated sites such as this provide large scale community policing, albeit in its infancy.

Some day I will ask you about starting BLINK ON TERROR. Maybe that scale is a little out of hand?

Perfect. I think Roxy’s hpyothetical just gotta a little more real as of yesterday. IMHO. She seems to be zeroing in on a particular person, and as if to be telling the story in the 3rd person. I am not sure of the date she posted this, but IIRC, the necklace had not been released to the public yet? Or perhaps I am wrong, however, all the pieces of evidence in which she describes in her post, are all current pieces of evidence in the investigation. We now have the boots, phone, and necklace( whether LE has in possesion or not) it is still a key piece of evidence that they have focused on.
I am so terribly anxious to see what the COD was, and what the scene was like when Morgan was found.
It would be interesting to see if she was still fully clothed in her outfit she wore on the 17th.
OYE still haunts me. Rabbit, Fish, anyone, thoughts?
I hope that Blink is right, and that they are getting close. I hope they are so close.

Observer: Thanks for your kind words for me yesterday. I was feeling down and heartbroken, and needed to post something and those words came to my heart.
I am so glad you are still with the FAM.

sorry, one more little PS

buzzards and ravens — for at least the past month — maybe longer, the weather’s been bad so I can’t tell — a “flock”? “gaggle”? “bunch of”?
“family”? — you get my drift — of buzzards have been roosting in the pine trees by my driveway — when they land, it sounds like the tree is crashing down — their wing spans are huge (I love birds of prey, and buzzards, to me, are not gross — they do vital work, the clean-up crew, plus it is so cool when they spread their wings out to sun/warm themselves) — they leave around 10 to 10:30 in the morning and return between 4 and 5 — it’s an amazing sight.

Then the “ravens” — these are not crows — they’re huge — have been roosting on the other side — just w/ all the talk and references of Poe, it always makes me think of this wonderful “gaggle, group, flock, bunch of, family” of BOC. I read that crows/ravens like “blue” things — they are very intelligent birds — so I thought one day I would write a book called “Blue Ribbons for the Crows” — when spring comes, the males start looking for anything “blue” to court their ladies fair — I researched this because in my other house, this past spring, there was one of those blue solo plastic cups on the side of the road, and this huge crow/raven was trying to pick it up in his beak — I googled it and learned why.

Like Dr. H, I’m so glad Morgan will be going home soon. Maybe I’ll take her some blue ribbons : )

They are everywhere!! Each states’ Sex Offender On-Line Registry site is one of the most valuable tools out there….very scary to see “who’s living where” if you get my drift.

I have friends that didn’t have a clue that our state even had a SOR website. That was 6 years ago. Now once every three months, each of us takes turns and e-mails the sex offender web link to all of our friends reminding them to enter their address and check this site. Some of us don’t even have younger children any more….doesn’t matter! Last November I had 18 within a one mile radius of my house (in that same radius are two elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one pre-school). It’s sad….so sad.

B, going back to your original theory of who the BG might be, I just found this:

This comes from the Albemarle GIS system, farm address, then removing all check marks except fire & rescue. Seems like your cheese might still be pretty fresh afterall…

That link did not work for me J

In response to a question from a reporter, Bass said that in 30 years of owning the property, he’s never had a problem with trespassers and explained that the front gate along busy Route 29 is rarely closed.
“The gates are to keep the cows in— not to keep people out,” says Bass. “This is not Glenmore.”
He says there are two houses on his 742-acre farm, a newer one toward the back of the property in which he and his artist wife dwell, and the landmark historic farmhouse which was long rented to UVA graduate students but now occupied by a member of his family.
Except for the main driveway which runs past the houses, Bass noted that his property is surrounded by barbed wire, and the field in which he found the remains of the 120-pound woman would be accessible only by foot or four-wheel-drive vehicles.
I want to know when the grad students moved out before their daughter moved in.

*How old is his daughter? Does she have a boyfriend or husband? Does she attend UVA?

Ok, folks, I’m going to go out on a bit of a limb here. Please work with me…

Morgan, with purse in hand, is on the Copeley Rd. Bridge, walking toward Ivy Rd. The BG sees her, stops, and offers her a ride. As it’s rainy, cold, and dark, Morgan accepts, and they head directly to, say, the 7-11 close by on Ivy Rd. She enters the 7-11 and uses her credit card to make a purchase. She re-enters the vehicle.

*At one time someone had posted her getting into a minivan at 7-11. On a different occasion in a post someone had said she was seen on video at 7-11.

Well, SisterSue, if he’s trying hard to get his life back together after conviction on two counts of rape in 2006, he should have skipped the subsequent adult convictions for sexual battery and failure to register as an SO. Of anyone that has been speculated about on this site, I have the smallest pity for him. Hope his victims have been able to put THEIR lives back together.
