Charlottesville, VA– In a new development in the murder investigation of Morgan Dana Harrington, blinkoncrime.com has learned that Anchorage Farm was very much a frequent party spot for local musicians.

In fact, there was a 7 Mile Sleepover exactly one week after Morgan’s disappearance from the JPJ arena that included an invitation list of over 130 guests.

7mile

Jenny Bass, the adult daughter of David and Nancy Bass, is an accomplished pianist, musician, horticulturist and artist in the Charlottesville community.

The Seven Mile Sleepover appears to have been posted prior to Morgan’s disappearance, approximately October 14, 2009.

While it is unconfirmed how many guests actually attended the event, it is clear there could have been over 100 people within a few hundred yards of Morgan’s final resting place a week after she went missing, and presumably, her death.

As Anchorage Farm is a verified crime scene in an active murder investigation, one wonders if anyone found anything they may not have realized of importance at the time.

According to her facebook, Ms. Bass was clearly disturbed by her discovery as well:

Fish….That was beautifully written. I’m a guy and must admit that I could feel a tear beginning to form as I read your lovely response to Gil’s blog entry (As I did when you wrote of your sister previously). Thank you! Nothing I could write could ever come across as well as what you wrote, nor do I have the same life experience to draw upon. It is always good to hear from someone who has already fought the battles that we find ourselves fighting. To know that you can conquer and move on gives us all hope.

In picture #30…does anyone else see something bone chilling under the first big branch of the big tree in the middle of the picture?

Ky, do you see something suspicious in picture #30? Can you give more direction as to what to look at? I have been studying the pic and see nothing notable.

I see what she is talking about, although I do not know that we should make any leaps.
It is impossible to tell what it might be, if it is indeed anything.

Ky, I was just going to mention seeing something in #30 that doesn’t look right, I wonder of these photos are doctored, I’m starting to see all kinds of weird things. In #30, I see something right above the “hole at the base of the big tree, where it looks like something has been “covered up” or “hidden”…that picture in particular does give me the creeps.

It looks to me like the progression of the photos is deliberate, like they were heading to a known destination….which looks eerily similar to where M was found.

In #36, my resolution is not very good, and I think there’s some pixilating going on too, but can anyone get a clearer look at what kind of “weed” that is Mr Maroon Shirt is standing in front of? Also, someone is pointing to something across the little creek, looks like it may be more of the same type of plant….given the time of year these were supposedly taken, and from what I can see from my somewhat distorted image on the screen, I’m kinda curious as to what these folks were so interested in out there, and what kind of flower/weed that is????

  5. Georgie says:

Ky, I went back and I think we see the same thing…..B, what the hell is that, is it just shadows and leaves, is it a mask? If these photos were taken when they say, that can’t possibly be what it looks like, unless it’s someone else.

I think we are all fans of Tim Miller and T.E.S – there is a great article on line at Texas Monthly http://www.texasmonthly.com/1999-10-01feature4php “Is Robert Abel Getting Away with Murder” There were a series of murders along Texas I-45 going back to 1984. Tim’s daughter Laura was one of the young victims. Robert Abel was a retired NASA engineer who was involved in the designing of the Apollo rocket fleet that put our guys on the moon in July 1969. It’s a great read. Sorry for the OT – I’m interested in reading about all the pictures you’re seeing – I can’t see them but like reading your responses. Keep on Keepin’ On.

i see the human-shaped object in picture 30. in order for that to be a human body, the person would have to be roughly 2 feet tall. there is just no way that the creek is 25-30 feet wide. the kinds of branches that you can see hanging over the creek are never more than a few inches thick – they are really more like vines than tree branches.

I definetely think there are photos missing. Duh! But, I also think melon has more than one fb account. When I first found him via link here, & looked at all pics, alot were there, but not these. It wasnt until I think ? Judy relinked, and I saw these. Why would that be?

Sudafed, I don’t think you are seeing the same thing as I am….I don’t see a “human shaped object” nor a body, just something (I’m sorry) that looks like a mask with eyeholes or a skull. I saw it last night, but it was late, and figured I’d check it out today and I probably wouldn’t see it…but lo and behold, it’s the only thing I see now when I look at this photo. I’m sure it’s just my vivid imagination :-)

#30 Picture GEE! I see it too! However, it seems out of proportion to the surroundings and it reminds me of those latex Halloween masks. One reason I have been drawn to that photo is because the way the leaves are placed above the rocks. To me it looks like an artificial and appears like a shelter of some sort. I wonder if this has been “Photo-shopped?” And if so, could it be a warning to someone? I just don’t get it. If the photos really meant anything, why would they still be up for us and LE to see? If the mobile upload wasn’t dated, I would be thinking someone is playing a hoax on us.

Actually, I think it could well be a shelter. JB and some of her friends seemed to be into building survival shelters and there are some picture earlier of other types of shelters. It looks like somen could have put branches between two rocks and then laid leaves on top for warmth. Its similar to the lean-to shelter JB talked about in an article posted earlier. I think these guys were taking pictures of things they thought looked cool — and some of them turned out and some didn’t.

I wasn’t going to comment on #30 but now I must. First off, the camera used to take those pictures is of a lower mega pixel ability. I’ve been playing with the picture for several minutes, inverting different colors and changing the intensity of each variable pixel. The particular “spot” most are commenting on appears smudged, this is due to several factors including low pixel ability, lighting, sharpness, and the natural makeup of those leaves. Erie yes, significant I say no. I’m going to upload the pictures to youtube to give all a different prospective of the pictures, for conversation only. I’ll provide a link once I’ve completed this, either late tonight, or first thing tomorrow morning…

I’ve looked at this pic for a while, left, then came back. I don’t see what y’all are seeing except rocks and leaves. If we consider how Morgan was found, we’d see some article of ‘black’ clothing on or close by, imo.

    Gil and Dr Harrington,

I have no idea what you are dealing with now. I can only imagine the grief that is endless and the sorrow that hits you in the middle of a laugh when you remember that your precious gift from God is with him and not here on earth any longer.

I can’t put into words the comfort that you need, I only believe that God will guide you through the times when you don’t know where to turn. I heard this song for the first time and felt compelled to share it with you. It is called “There is a God” by Lee Ann Womack. I found it on Youtube and hope you can open it.

Question about uploading pics and what info we can gain from them…

I am really bad about not charging batteries or uploading pics in a timely manner. When I uploaded my son’s prom pics from last year, the camera had been sitting for 3 months without being used (we have 3 camera’s here so I grab the one that’s most recently been charged). When we view the source info on someone else’s pics, if they haven’t used the camera in awhile, and don’t reset the date/time on it, is the info that we see when they uploaded & took the pics, or the last date/time that they set + ever how many days it takes them to upload them?

Agreed. I think everyone may need to take a deep breath and click the mental “Refresh” button; perhaps upon re-examination, the unidentified object(s) seen in several pictures will still disturbingly stand out to some, but I really don’t think we’re a pixel or photo-edit away from positively identifying the initial crime scene or burial site…

  28. belleboyd says:

The “hut” must be a hunting blind, at least that’s what it looks like to me. A hunting blind is a cover device for hunters, designed to reduce the chance of detection. Surely, one couldn’t “survive” too long in it. It also doesn’t look weatherproof if the weather consisted of rain or freezing temperatures. IMHO

Hi Eloise; I don’t have Melon Man’s pictures saved in my photobucket page. I should probably copy and paste them over there before he finds out about us snoopers and goes private!

I’ve had a busy week. I am really amazed by these photos. I am wondering if there is any way to know if they were taken last year. Just because they were posted in in 2009 doesn’t mean they were taken in 2009. I am also trying to figure out when they were taken if it was ’09.; there were a lot of leaves on the trees before October 17th; I remember being at the search on November 6-8, and saying that the leaves had just blown off the trees because of heavy rains we had prior to the search, but that when Morgan disappeared the leaves were on the trees. The leaves changed color fairly late in the fall as well. If the photos were taken in 2009, it would have been right before or after Morgan disappeared IMO. It’s really frightening. Other central Virginians can chime in and say what they think about the leaves on the trees in some or all of the photos. A lot of leaves are still there, but some aren’t. I guess it depends on the type of tree and what trees lose their leaves first???
Photo 28 looks to me what I imagine the treeline where Morgan was placed would look like, looking out into the tall grass. Photo 33 looks to me like what I imagine a “corpse’s eye view” of the tree stand from where Morgan lay would look like (sorry Harrington family…I hate to say these morbid things).
I know what you all mean about “seeing things” in these pictures. In picture 30 I see what looks like a hand and forearm in the branches of the trees, but it looks like it appears out of thin air, not attached to anything, so I am sure it is just another optical illusion. Keep up the good work, y’all.

  32. Judi says:

Hey, everyone, I have a thought. I’ve been thinking about the Harrington’s last posting all day. It just grabbed my heart. What does everyone think about putting together a collage dedicated to Morgan comprised of something made from all of us? Is anyone good at crafts and creative and has the time resources? We can scan/email or do power points or something and one of us collect them and make a Morgan collage to send to Harringtons. Just trying to think of something, anything to do for them.

  33. RU Mom says:

Photo # 19 This tree would be easily identified. Notice the fence in front. Also, the direction of the sun could tell us what time of day the photo was taken (once the location is identified!). Also, thinking OUT OF THE BOX. What is absent in the photos?
    1. Where is a good picture of the other 2 people?
    2. Why do both houses seem to have no activity? Where are the people?
    3. If this were a big party or event, don’t you think we would see some evidence of that?
    4. Where are the people or evidence that someone was home when the scroll pictures were taken?
Think about what we DON’T see. Maybe that will lead us in a correct direction.

  34. Sapphire says:

    Oh Gil,
Please take time to care for yourself and hold tight to your family. I believe that Morgan wants all of you to find joy in your lives again. She is there with you, Dan and Alex in all her glorious winged beauty. May her light continue to shine upon you and bring you solace and much needed happiness and joy. Take all the time you need to grieve but do not deny yourselves happiness. Do not feel guilty when you find yourselves smiling. Do it for Morgan. Don’t give up.

You ask why bother? Because Morgan’s story has finally convinced my sprightly just turned 17 year old (as of yesterday) to take self- defense classes. Also, she is reading my tattered copy of The Gift of Fear. She is speaking to her friends about the need to be there for one another, not to go off alone, and not to take abuse from anyone.

Twelve years ago, my oldest daughter had a boyfriend in college that became violent with her. With colleges keeping the hush on domestic violence she didn’t believe an injunction against him would do any good. Silly I know, but my anger took over and I drove the 200 miles with a baseball bat in my car. I informed everyone that knew him I was in town looking for him and spoke out against his behavior. She had no more problems with him.

Please continue to speak out against the violence to our young women that has permeated our society, especially in our high schools and colleges. They need to hear Morgan’s story.

I am curious if there is going to be another large extensive search done at AF? What kind of search has been done at S rd, if LE not on board?

I dont think my mind let me think how involved and vile the whole thing was. My imagination is wide open now. I think some players have done this before, and may have since. I guess not everybody has a loving family, sad to say, that would notice someone gone right away.
What I now think may have occurred was not done in a car, or a home, unless it burned down. Hmm… Outside might be my first choice. Though I am on board for sutherland, just think that involves moving Morgan alot. Or I am not getting the connection you all have?

“What does everyone think about putting together a collage dedicated to Morgan comprised of something made from all of us?

I have been wanting to mention this before, but didn’t know if I should or not. I’m not very artistic when it comes to painting rocks, which is why I’m still lookling at mine instead of creating something that I feel would honor Morgan. But what I can do, and do it often for gifts to people I know, is make a memory quilt. I’ll have to post a link to one I’ve done tomorrow, as I am on my son’s lapatop right now as I’m not able to get downstairs today to get to my computer. In essence, they are called photo memory quilts. Here are a couple of online examples:
    http://www.originalquilts.com/images/powellfull.jpg
    http://www.originalquilts.com/images/mattconf.jpg
    http://www.originalquilts.com/images/jennyfull.jpg
(these are just examples, mine look nothing like this as I really decorate it up, since it’s not something you really want to wrap up in, but display on a small quilt rack or chair, but I could do whatever you all were interested in. I’ve even had a couple of them framed, but that’s really expensive to do, and for some reason, I have a feeling if we didn’ something like this for Gil, she would want to wrap up in it on occassion).

I usually like to take pieces of clothing from the person I’m doing the quilt for, like something that might be to small for them now but had special meaning at one time, cut blocks from them, and add photos to some of the blocks. I have added poems, signatures, bible verses and just about anything you can scan, I can add. Even if you have a piece of clothing that means something to you, and you don’t want it ruined, if you can scan it in and send to me, I can add it. I also embelish the whole quilt with different things such as buttons, ribbons, iron on’s, lace, etc. The quilts that I do are not full-size, they are more like the size of a baby quilt, but with so many of us here, I could make it a bit bigger, or maybe put signatures or more than one poem per square. I try hard to put in at least 12 pics that are special pics to the person the quilt is going to. There’s really not enough room for more than 12, or else they are to small. I have all the material & embellishments already to do one for the Harrington family, unless they would want to add a piece of clothing, special photos of hers or scan in something to send to me.

Would any of you be interested in me doing something like this, instead of just a regular collage? It will take me about 2 wks total after all the ideas are put together & I get everything you might have scanned in and emailed to me. If I’m able to get downstairs tomorrow, I’ll definitely send the link to one I’ve done…

JMO, but I think I now know why we are unable to ‘see’ what is significant in these pictures. The AF pics, along with the pics from PPDDL-, and I am sure many others we have not yet seen. Key words: fire, earth, and living water, creek bed, trifurcated tree, cat, sun, moon, oak, peeling bark, holly, ritual scroll (instructions), knife, necklace, and others.
These items symbolize areas of the occult, more specifically Satanism/ pagan~witchcraft/ human sacrifice. There is a varied overlap and disagreement in those that follow.

while I think your research is fascinating, I am seeing no bifurcated trees, meaning no seperate trees that have grown together, however, I am no arborist.

What I did note, was that the yerta has significant entire “sheers” of bark, and they are in excess of 6 ft. One would think someone would have to have access to loggers, or a clearing company to get sheaths that size. They would have be some very large and very old trees.

It’s the same thing here as well. And he’s also on Beer Advocate. To answer your question – yes, I do enjoy his beers, although I don’t really know why :) What I mean is, I just like to drink them. He likes to talk about them, look at them, smell them, enter them into contests, blog about them etc. I have learned quite a bit, though and it’s good to see him involved in something that makes him happy.
