Orlando, FL– Yesterday, the defense team of Jose Baez, J. Cheney Mason and Andrea Lyon filed a motion to strike the Statement of Particulars including aggravating factors claiming that is does not list the States “facts” to support them. Team Baez is claiming that “may rely” does not meet the burden of the Steele citation used to compel the order from Judge Perry in the last hearing.

Baez_casey_lyon

In essence they would like state to kindly hand over their theories and work product, if you please-

Also filed by the defense, this time including Linda Kenney Baden, is a 49 page motion with exhibits for discovery from the Oak Ridge Laboratory otherwise known as The Body Farm.

It is within this motion, we learn something very new, and very critical to this case.

THERE IS A FRAGMENT OF A LATENT PRINT ON THE EXTERIOR TRUNK OF CASEY’S CAR.

According to Baden’s supplemental request, there are 18 latent fingerprint lifts, 8 areas of latent lifts developed via dye stain and one fragmented lift from the trunk. Wonder who they will belong to?

This morning, the State is releasing an additional 500 pages of discovery in the murder case against Casey Anthony.

It will be posted as it is received, check back to blinkoncrime.com for updates.

RubyRose, I was right away interested in that information too (the soil & vegetation). You wouldn’t expect to find any vegetation just by driving around Orlando, right? Yep, potentially a big deal.

This latent is NEW news, for some who find there is nothing new about this piece. It’s crucial because it’s new, it’s a print and it could possibly put Casey right where the prosecution needs her. It’s a small detail but it’s impact could be gargantuan, imo.

We’re all feeling impatient and wanting that 1 piece of crucial concrete evidence that’s gonna seal Casey’s fate but WE GOTTA CHILL! It’s not in our hands nor Blink’s. I’m grateful for this piece of information. It’s encouraging and suggests the possibility that there’s more that has yet to be revealed.

Hope y’all are having a great long weekend (is it a lw in the US? Victoria Day in Canada).

  4. Ragdoll says:

IIRC, there are no prints on the air mattress, just the pump. That could imply the mattress was never used? If that’s true, it whittles away at the nanny theory :D

“Am I the only one that found it strange that Casey, in her Target shopping spree(see security film) purchased a huge (12+ rolls) package of paper towels? Now why would she have purchased that many paper towel rolls for Tony’s apartment. That does not make sense, does it…UNLESS you have huge cleaning (clean-up) to do?”

    *****************************************

Unfortunately, the Target shopping extravaganzas began July 8, 2008, the day that Amy H. left for Puerto Rico. The “Anthony Family Vehicle” was already at Johnson’s Towing impound lot, having been removed from the Amscot on June 30th.

Hi Clockwatcher, I thought about the paper-towels purchase from Target also- Here is what I think happened-

Casey was staying at Tony’s for sometime- ever since Caylee was enjoying the beach and the sites with Zanny ,right? Well, Casey used many items from Tony’s during that time period, including all the paper-towels-

The roommate said she was always cleaning-she used up all of their paper towels “cleaning” and when she came into some money-wink,wink- finally got paid, she made the good-will gesture of reimbursement with food and a whole bunch of paper-towels- That way she was sure not to wear out her welcome-come what may- she paid them back in full and then some-
Afterall, she was on her best behavior, and trying so hard to impress upon everyone at Tony’s that she was a God-send in the kitchen, and a domestic Goddess, that would be hard to replace.

  11. Mom3.0 says:

oops forgot to address Leslee in my previous comment also- Hi Leslee.

  12. Ragdoll says:

    Chica, mon ami!

Thank you for the kindness. Unfortunately, the weather is cool and rainy. I was hoping to get the garden in. D’oh well.

Leslee, the oddest thing about that purchase, imo, is that there is nothing in there for Caylee. I don’t care who you are, when you have a child and you’re shopping at Wally World, Target, etc, you’re coming home with something for your lil ones. Two trips in one day yet, to Target, and not one thing for Caylee. That doesn’t fly with me. I hope it doesn’t with the jury either.

  13. Curiouser says:

The defense is going to make a really big deal out of an identified hair found on Caylee’s remains. How many people do you suppose have been in and out of that bimbos party wagon!? Caylee was in the car both when she was living and at least in the trunk of it after she died. But my point is that, that hair could have transferred from anyone that was in that the car and from the car to Caylee at any time or, from anyone that Casey hugged or, hung all over to Casey then to Caylee. The F.B.I. have eliminated the people who examined the hair and none were the depositors of it. Did they look at the photographer because, I looked and couldn’t find that he was compared but, you would think that he would have been. Especially since these documents put him at the site where Caylee’s remains were being examined, right over them in fact snapping photos of every bone they found. Another interesting thing is that investigators didn’t take the vacume cleaners and steam cleaners from the Anthony home until after the body was found. What’s that about? Cindy told them that she vacumed the car out the day they brought it home, which was incidentally the same day that the 911 call was made and, investigators got involved! Hindsight’s 20/20 but it seems like if you hadn’t thought of it that Cindy pointing out that she vacumed the car might put the thought in your head to ask her if you could take the vacume to examine. Afterall the Anthony’s were cooperating at that point of the investigation because, they wanted to find Caylee. And, I was interested in the so, called ‘death or, grave wax’ that was found on a (not decomposing hair) the hair in death wax was found on, what appeared to be paper towel like material that was in the car trash can. ie.) the hair either fell into something that was decomposing or, the decomposing something came in contact with the hair of a live person and was transferred onto the paper towel like material (maybe a baby wipe) imo. Nothing though that I saw in the documents included if the hair was identified. Though there was an investigator that inquired by e mail if the hair had been compared to Caylee and Casey. Another topic for discussion having nothing to do with the new documents. In the jail house letters, did anybody notice how Casey revealed that she accused Lee of molesting her in context of Lee telling Cindy that Casey had thought she might be pregnant, again. And, her mom confronting her about it? Casey has Cindy replying to that accusation against Lee by saying, “oh, that explains why you’re whore?” To me it seems contrived that Casey was mad at Lee for breaking her confidence and telling Cindy. And, during a time that Cindy was probably going off on Casey about being so irresponsible. To me Cindy’s response sounds like a mother expecting nothing more from Casey then to stoop as low as accusing Lee of doing to something to her just because he confided to their mother. Cindy’s response if it’s true sounds as if Cindy is use to Casey changing the focus in order to get herself off of the hook. It seems to me that Casey was attempting to make her mom feel sorry for her, while at the same time attempting to make her mom angry at Lee. Imo, the whole thing sounds like Casey is manipulative and Cindy knows it better than anyone else. Casey lies so, much I have often wonder why people who do not believe a thing she say would want to believe that one thing that she says. Just because she told Jesse Grund that story that doesn’t make it true then either. Who knows in what context Casey told him them that. I mean with Casey it’s relevant to know because often times the context is what tells on her. Imo. Grund’s reaction to Casey’s spilling her guts was not that of somebody who believed her either, he said he just thought it was gross and didn’t discuss it any further with her. Almost like he wasn’t uncomfortable with the truth but, more like he was uncomfortable that she would lie about something so horrible. I mean if he truly sympathized with her wouldn’t he have talked to her about it, let her get it off her chest. Help her with it? Maybe I’m reading too much into it. But, I think Casey put those things in the letter knowing that those letters were a set up. She’s preparing her story for the penalty phase of her trial, which goes something like feel sorry for me because I was abused. Any thoughts?

  14. Curiouser says:

sorry I meant unidentified hair not ‘identified’ what a dummy.

  15. Leslee S. says:

    ClockWatcher:

And I thought I was beginning to qualify as a real sleuth….LOL! But I still think there might be something to Casey purchasing the huge package of 12(?) papertowels. Why would Casey do that when she was living at Tony’s. I buy that many at a time but I have plenty of storage in my home. An apartment doesn’t.

OK will some one help a sister out here? so what if they found a fingerprint” OUTSIDE” of the trunk?? didnt this car sit for days parked in front a public place like some cash check thing- it could be anyone in the world’s fingerprint.

The tow truck driver, the kid walking in between 2 cars to cross the street- you name it… So will someone please help me to see why this is so significant? Im lost

  18. Kleat says:

LesleeS, Casey could have been ‘paying back’ for paper towel rolls she’d borrowed from Tony’s stock in earlier weeks (for her car, for the garage or home use clean up so no one would notice a wet rag or missing paper towels there). She also liked to clean up at and clean his apartment, so maybe she liked to use paper towels instead of cleaning rags and the big bag of papertowels was cheaper and best for party spills. A big generous pay-back, could impress her boy and besides, it wasn’t HER money she was spending.

  19. Gypsy DD says:

    Hi Cheryl.

I think the ONE latent print is important because you would expect to find several latent prints on a car trunk that had sat for days at Amscot’s parking lot and then in the tow yard. Someone tried to wipe that car trunk clean. Why? They just missed one print.

  20. ClockWatcher says:

    @ Leslee and Mom3.0

Casey has mad shopping skills! She’s practical and frugal! “OMG guy’s! Look at the super awesome bargain I got for all these paper towels today, aren’t I amazing?”

Mom3.0 I think you’re point is quite valid on ingratiating herself to “the boys” and proving her value to them.

Let’s not forget the freaking, what?, ten pounds of fresh cherries she purchased. They’re messy little suckers and probably required at least one roll of paper towels per pound, for washing, drying and spitting the pits (in a femininely discreet manner) so, long term storage of a huge multipack probably wasn’t part of her thinking process.

  21. Kleat says:

Cheryl, sure but only one fragment of a print? How can that make sense, without including the idea of a cleaning?

  22. Kleat says:

Momof3, yep, didn’t read your post before responding– agree, it was an easy way to clean up to impress, but with the added benefit that if she was going through rolls of paper towels, Tony wouldn’t question any of them missing from his cupboard because Casey was using lots. She could borrow a roll for her car, but take as much as she needed without him getting suspicious and to pay him back later with a huge admiration and hugs from her boy.

  23. Kleat says:

Did anyone pay attention to Baez while Andrea was calling his client a whore and deviant and especially the witness statement that defending a deviant mother would be hard to do? At one point the furrows in his brow got deeper, and then he put his face down in his hand. Uncomfortable he seemed to be. And because Judge Perry did not allow anyone at the defense table to make faces or expressions as they could get away with in the past, and because this appeared to be genuine and not for the cameras (it was their own side arguing so making expressions to disagree was not appropriate), he seemed very uncomfortable with the presentation.

  24. Bees Knees says:

I’m with you Cheryl. Puzzled. Help?

  25. Bees Knees says:

So, the reason it’s suspicious to you and I may be because there’s only one print remaining but that is easily explained by the fact that someone cleaned the car and missed it. Suspicious, yes, but all one of them has to do is say I cleaned the car cause it was dirty. There’s nothing wrong with that is there? Obviously it would be a lie but who could disprove it? Seems to me the one print is the very least of the Anthony’s worries. But, I’m often wrong so the significance might be staring me right in the face and I’m oblivious. I guess too, that if the print was not George, Cindy or Casey’s it could become much more interesting.

  26. angela_nw says:

Kleat, I saw that very same thing (Baez in the courtroom). I do wonder about that tactic — I am not remotely involved in law but I wonder about putting forward that statement, that visual so precisely – giving her behavior a name like that. I mean, aren’t there people who would think if KC as simply a “party girl” beforehand, but after hearing that speech, think – no, she’s a whore. “Whore” and “mother of the year” don’t really go well together, — seems that classification by her own lawyer would weaken any testimony by Cindy & anyone else that KC was MOTY.

casey is one hell of a liar in fact no one in that house knows the truth. I was thinking last night! how the A’s got baptized but came up worse than ever. they should of kept them down longer but still yet nothing or no one can make them honest ! they have no integrity.
god spared caylee life in that house. casey will rot in jail no way she will walk nada nothing nuttin she can do but accept it. She will adapt just fine. fresh meat to bubbas sister.

  28. Leslee S. says:

    Kleat & Angela:

I noticed Baez then, too. Didn’t Casey, at the same time, do that ‘mouth’ thing that she does when she starts to get angry & then quickly turns it into fake tears? I don’t remember when the crying started….but if you noticed, Baez got real uncomfortable with Casey’s tears. He looked at her & started that raising of his right shoulder & leaning his head to his shoulder. It’s something that he does real quick, almost like some kind of nervous tick. Anyway, IMO, Andrea did make a mistake. What’s with her? I haven’t been impressed at all.

Great comments and observations here as ususual!!

Blink, or anyone, would you be able to answer this question: Is disovery reciprocal…Does the defense provide evidence/info/depostions to the state? And if so, will it be released via the sunshine law?

It is, but there are many “exceptions” to the discovery as it relates to the sunshine law.

It is not a “given” that it will be made public.

Clockwatcher- I forgot all about those cherries- to think how easy it was for Casey to adapt and overcome her little girls death- makes me ill- she certainly made sure she went on the vacation of a lifetime- free from all worries and responsibilities- the nightlife the life of leisurely smoking it up and eating cherries- arggg makes me so sad and angry.

Kleat- LOL- its ok thanks for acknowledging my post- nice to know you share my thought- I consider you one of the best thinkers here- so I am happy to share a thought with you- I did notice that your comment was much more succinct and to the point- well-done Kleat, again!

  33. NaNa says:

The latent print on the trunk proves a couple of things. 1) Casey (or someone else) tried to remove fingerprints from the trunk of the car. 2) all the fingerprints on the trunk of that car are either hers, George’s, or the worker at the impound, which means that the defense cannot argue that someone else put Casey in that trunk.

  34. NaNa says:

I meant to write “that someone else put Caylee in that trunk.”

  35. Kleat says:

Blink, I’m wondering who this woman is, and why she’s not on the defense’s list of woods searchers?

    (my post from Val’s site)

“…she says she searched that same area just about three weeks ago.”

Reference in Dec. 12 video report by CFnews13 titled “Remains Linked To Home”. Reporter Allison Walker, said she spoke to a woman who drove up from St. Petersburg to search for Caylee. The woman is on the video report, named Pat Young, says she searched those woods and was about 10 feet from where the remains were found. (but then, at this time, who could get close to the crime scene– how would she know how close she was, and how did she become known to the news reporter? Did she drive back to Orlando to inform the news she was there, and what agency did she search with– how did she get pointed to those woods, and was she with anyone else?

Why hasn’t the defense listed this woman as a possible witness to the body not being in the woods, or condition of the woods in November?
    http://www.cfnews13.com/Features/Caylee/Video/default.aspx

    Excellent Question-

Do we know if she knows the A’s?
    B

  36. dee says:

could GEO have taken the car through some sort of car wash on his way home? just asking….

  37. Kleat says:

Blink, no idea if she knows the A’s, but she sure arrived back in Orlando from St Petesburg quickly enough to get her ‘little cameo’ (to use a Casey term).

There is a new little video that gives more insight into the Joy and three musketeers relationship (Mort, Andrea and Jeanene).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-5Z9maU85c

Look at the water level in a photo that was likely taken on that defense trip to the woods, and then there’s the Walgreen’s memory photo, and with psych and mitigation expert (I assume) along for the visit with the ‘witness’? (were they checking out the witness with the mitigation expert and did they help choose the new hair do and clothes for that noteable appearance in the media and court?).

  38. Kleat says:

Blink, maybe Pat Young will show up in a video of a vigil, from November 2008. Or one of the protestor videos–those protestor videos show people in new roles in later times, such as River and friends, JW as protestor later turned star cake-baker, photographer and video documentarian and hair dye model.

  39. dee says:

“JW as protestor later turned star cake-baker”

Kleat what did you smoke today? ;-) thanks for the Monday Work Blues chuckle :-)

  40. Kleat says:

Blink…. YES!! The protestor hunch is on the mark! She was no simple woods searcher, she was involved in the George and protestor confrontation and she’s named in the police incidence report.

    http://www.wftv.com/download/2008/0908/17419701.pdf

http://www.wftv.com/news/17421473/detail.html Scroll down to ‘George Anthony Facing Charges’.

“Patricia Young, 65, is from St. Petersburg, but in Orange County searching for Caylee. She was camped out near Casey Anthony’s home Monday looking for answers to her questions.

“I was hoping that their was some new leads on the baby,” Young told Eyewitness News.
Young was also part of a group of protesters in front of the Anthony’s Hopespring Drive home on Sunday night. Things got heated when a hammer-holding George Anthony got upset that they were too close to his home and shoved Young into the street.

“You are on my f****** property, get off my property!” George yelled during the incident.

Young wasn’t alone. Larry Donovan was also pushed. Orange County sheriff’s deputies were called out and the two protesters who were shoved decided to press charges (read incident report).”

Dang it Kleaty Kleat, fo schizzle.
    B

  41. Kleat says:

You’d think the defense would be checking this woman out with a magnifying glass– in those woods and with whom and why, only three weeks before the body was located, right around the perfect timeline between October 14th and November 15th, when the defense says someone else put the body in those woods.

  42. Kleat says:

    http://www.wftv.com/slideshow/news/17417748/detail.html

Is this her in photos No. 9 and 12, wearing a visor cap and holding a protest sign? That’s her as the photos show the confrontation clearly and how Lee steps in to defuse things, photos 18-26.

  43. PigletinCT says:

    Dee -
I don’t think George would’ve even thought about taking the car through a car wash on his way home from the tow yard. That would have meant rolling the windows up & having to breathe in the stench permiating the car………

just a thought, I know it is off topic, was reading at The Caylee Daily about Casey’s lawyers doing some depositions in regards to the ZFG defamation suit, my question is: How is Casey paying for those attorney services ,what funding is still coming in and how, is that team different from the one defending here in the homicide case? Is it still JB?

  48. RubyRose says:

I believe the half print (lot’s of half’s in this family, half prints, half truths, half brains)is that of one Cindy Anthony. After cleaning the trunk, as best she could in the time she had before returning to work, after vacuuming the trunk and wiping it down, she closed the trunk and did a once over on the exterior. She was not as concerned with the outside as she was the inside. Have they already released the forensic reports on the contents of the vacuum seized from the home?

I guess rightfully so, her print has a right to be on the car since the car belongs to her, but should be a whole print since she said she only sprayed the car with deodorizer?

We will never know what evidence was really in the car when it was picked up at the tow yard.

  49. dancehappy says:

While reading some of your comments this Sunday, I ran across one from Bees Knees in which she provided Judy PC, a link to a case that seemed to indicate that the State Attorney’s Office could withhold certain evidence from the Defense until trial, just as long as it is not evidence helpful to the Defendant. Recognizing Bees as one of our blog contributors that is always on the cutting edge of current information, I went to the link she supplied. I found a 2001 revised Florida Supreme Court opinion in the case of Hoffman vs. State of Florida, which discusses the issue of the State’s failure to disclose evidence favorable to the Defense prior to trial in a death penalty case.
