David Hartley Gunned Down On Jet Ski In Mexico : Tiffany Young-Hartley Facing Scrutiny

Posted by BOC Staff | Bizarre Crime,Blink,David Hartley,Falcon Lake,Mexican Territory,Murdered,Tiffany Young-Hartley | Tuesday 5 October 2010 10:34 pm

According to his wife, Tiffany Young-Hartley, who called 911, David Hartley, 30, was gunned down by Mexican pirates while the couple ventured across the Falcon Resovior lakes US border to take pictures of the “Mexican Atlantis” or Old Guerreo.

HartleyJetSkiClose

Hartley says her husband was shot in the head and as a result “flew” off his jet ski while the couple was returning from the landmark on the Mexican side of the lake, after taking pictures. She goes on to say she became aware of 3 different boats chasing down the couple only after she saw bullets hitting the water next to her. As she turned around to see where they were coming from, she claims she witnessed her husbands murder.

David was driving a new Sea Doo RXT ski that can climb from 0–30MPH in 1.7 seconds and is capable of top-end speeds of over 60 MPH.  Blinkoncrime.com has not been able to confirm which model Ms. Hartley was driving. The couple had been on at least one earlier jet ski jaunt while still in Mexico, but was cut short due to a mishap with David’s craft on June 20th.

HartleyMovingJune2010

According to his wife, David was face-down in the water, wearing a life vest, after he was shot.

Despite the horror of what she had just witnessed and astonishingly avoiding injury to her or her watercraft, she circled back around, jumped off her jet ski, and turned her 250 lb. husband upright to observe the gunshot wound to his forehead. You read that correctly, according to Tiffany Hartley, while being chased from behind, David was shot from the front. Hartley maintains this is when she attempted to load him onto her jet ski, and also when two of the three boats were now positioned in front of her.

TiffanyFB

One of the alleged pirate boats from the front approached her within 10 ft. While she stared down the barrell of his gun, she was holding onto her husband with one hand, her ski with the other asking not to be shot. Apparently through some sort of Mexican telepathy or nautical sign language, the men who just ambushed the couple and murdered her husband in cold blood, made a decision to let her go and retreated IN FRONT OF HER.

Hartley claims she cannot identify any of the men, that they never said a word to her nor could she hear anything they may have said to each other, but believes the motive for the attack to be robbery or to kidnap her. It is not clear how Tiffany arrived at this conclusion as they never made an attempt to stop them or ask them for their money, she was off her $13,000 Sea doo they could have easily taken, and they let her go.

It was at this time that Hartley finally did hear something. She says she heard the voice of God tell her to leave David, save herself and get to safety. However, his instruction must have been non-specific because she proceeded to mount her ski in deep water, start it back up, and drive directly toward and then past the very band of gun weilding murderous cartel who minutes ago gunned down her highschool sweetheart and spouse of 8 years. (Editors note: I cannot imagine the nerve it takes to again have your back to the same crew who, unprovoked, sprayed the lake with bullets behind you while you were fleeing for your life).

While Tiffany admits the couple was aware of recent pirate activity in the area they learned about while David researched the location, she claims they had not heard of anymore incidents on Falcon Lake, which borders both Texas and Mexico, “in a while.”

The Hartley’s, who had recently been on a few tropical vacations, were in the process of relocating to Colorado next week from Reynosa, Mexico and McAllen Texas, where they had lived for only a few months, following David’s transfer request to Calfrac well services.

According to recent Facebook postings, although the couple could not agree on furniture tastes, they recently purchased a house full of it just after a luxury cruise and visit to a seminar for those experiencing financial difficulty.

I would love to be able to do no analysis and regergetate this story as reported by main stream media whereby not one reporter asks the obvious question:

After several known incidents of piracy in that location over the last months, why would the “pirates” suddenly go on a murderous rampage in lieu of attempting to rob a couple on jet skis that could outrun them on sight?

Not gonna happen. I have heard umpteen versions of Ms. Hartley’s version of events leading to the random execution of her husband.

None pass the smell test. However, just today, Zapata County Sheriff “Sigi” Gonzalez, Jr says his investigation, now aided by a witness who is a long standing member of the Zapata community, exonerates Mrs. Hartley of any wrongdoing.

Gonzalez completely rules out foul play on the part of Mrs. Hartley.

“A local witness saw Tiffany Hartley escaping on her jet-ski to the Texas side of the lake,” he said. “She came in at high speed and was being pursued by armed men in a Mexican fishing boat that that the witness clearly observed.”

Gonzalez said the witness was a long-standing member of the Zapata community who was well known to him and regarded as highly credible.

“The testimony of this witness dispels any idea Mrs. Hartley was involved in any wrongdoing regarding the murder of her husband,” he said firmly. “She called in a 911 phone call to our office at around 2:20 p.m. on the day of the incident, immediately after she got to shore, and her statements to my office confirm what the local witness observed.”

Unfortunately, the witness account does not match Tiffany Hartley’s own version of events. At no time has she ever said that she was again chased by the “pirates”, in fact, she claims she left them behind after driving “through” them.

Hartley references recent pirate activity, which is almost verbatim what she says happened to her and David, with the exception of the actual piracy:

On April 30, five people in two different boats were fishing on Falcon Lake and went to the Old Guerrero area, where they were taking photos of the old church. While they were there, a boat with four heavily tattooed men approached the two boats quickly. The men identified themselves as “Federales,” but they were not wearing uniforms. The men boarded the boats, demanded cash and asked “where are the drugs?” The fishermen told the men that they had no drugs and were just fishing and taking photos. They ended up giving the men $200 cash and left the area. The pirates followed the two boats, but the U.S. boats were able to outrun them and the men stopped following once the two boats entered U.S. waters.

In every recorded incident since April, the heavily tattoed pirates posing as “Federales” without uniforms, came upon anchored fishing boats, boarded them, robbed the fisherman at gunpoint of any personal cash, searched for drugs left without any violence. In the Hartley family interview on the Today show, Tiffany states that after David was hit, she circled around, jumped off her jetski, swam over to her husband and because he was “face down in the water” she had to turn him over where she discovered he was shot in the head.

It would seem I am not alone in my quagmire.  Mexican Investigators, who hold jurisdiction have already begun to question Ms. Hartley’s story.

Marco Antonio Guerrero Carrizales, the district attorney for the Miguel Aleman Province adjoining Falcon Lake on the Mexican side, has questioned whether Tiffany Hartley was involved in foul play.

Early this morning, Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez announced the Mexican Authorities will be searching the area where David Hartley was murdered, and have committed to “not leaving” until they find him. Tiffany Hartley, accompanied by her parents, but without David’s, filed a missing person report at the Mexican Consulate last night as a matter of procedure to “get the ball rolling”.

Mom3.0…We would not go to Mexico at all. As a matter of fact, Homeland Security has sent bulletins out to the Border Patrol, Customs, etc. basically ordering all of their employees to stay out of Mexico. The same goes for military bases in our area.
Even so, they still are required to work very close to the border as the river here is not that wide so it’s a very close distance to Mexico. There have been multiple times that my husband and his crew when working along the river have had to wear bullet proof vests and have to have armed agents with them because they have been shot at and had rocks thrown at them. And let me also say that when these things happen, NEVER is there any law enforcement from Mexico trying to stop it or intervene.
The people from El Paso who have been killed in Juarez over the last year…now those were stupid people. ANYONE who thinks that they are safe enough to go there are deluding themselves. Even though there is all that violence, people still utilize the river so I don’t find it at all surprising that the Hartley’s would choose to be on Lake Falcon. I’ve been there….I’ve been to that exact location. Really….it is no safer to be in the water, out of the water, on our side or on their side. There are parts of Arizona that even though it is territory of the United States,no one can go there because it’s controlled by the Mexican cartels.
I’m pretty convinced that there is some kind of video of what happened on Lake Falcon and that it’s been suppressed or held back for whatever reason. Texas now has all of those drones monitoring the border, there are satellites, etc. and I can’t think that it’s even feasible to assume that it wasn’t recorded in some way. If we have the ability to monitor Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. you can bet your bippy that we’re watching Mexico too.

I really don’t understand all the comments about T Hartley. We have personally seen very similar incidents that have happened exactly as she said it happened. The thing is….until the last couple of years, pretty much EVERYTHING that has happened on the Southern/Southwest Border as far as cartels, and all of that…was not news provided to the rest of the United States and if it was, it was buried on some back page.
For instance….how many of you are aware that last year or year before, the cartels put out a hit list targeting restaurants in El Paso that were owned by Mexican citizens that had sister restaurants in Juarez? They successfully were able to cross over to El Paso and burn down three of those restaurants. Another restaurant in that same situation opened only up the street from where I live and on the very first day it was broken into and all of their electronics were stolen. Shortly after, that restaurant closed.
There have been more than a few times where El Paso police have chased Mexican criminals and gone just a bit too far over the bridge and had to be able to turn around but couldn’t because of the barriers on the bridges. What do you think happened to those officers? The were arrested by the Mexican police, stripped of their personal belongs and thrown in jail for up to two weeks or longer. On the other hand, Mexican police and Mexican soldiers have crossed over in the same way and what has always happened with them is that they are questioned right there and then escorted back to Mexico.
I don’t know what exactly happened on Lake Falcon. It could just be that the Hartley’s stumbled into something. Heck, if I was being chased like that, I certainly doubt that I would have the wherewithall to take notes about who it was, what they looked like, etc. My biggest fear would be that I would be captured and taken back to Mexico where no one would probably ever see or hear from me again unless my body was discovered somewhere. In El Paso during my entire life, it has always been a “given” that if someone you know is missing…..they are probably locked in a Mexican jail/prison because that’s the way it is in Mexico. Some people are fortunate enough to have contact with the embassy and might get assistance. A lot of people as I said…are just never heard from or seen again.Because the Hartley’s had lived in Reynoso, I’m sure they too were quite aware of those facts.

When will a reporter, ask if she owns a Handgun? David would ensure

taught her to target practice, surely, she had her own weapon, for

    P. HARTLEY: Yes.

    BALDWIN: Yes.

    P. HARTLEY: Like, I spoke to David that morning before they went out there.

BALDWIN: What did he say to you?

    (CROSSTALK)

    P. HARTLEY: Pardon?

BALDWIN: What did he say to you in that phone conversation?

    P. HARTLEY: He was — he told me where they were going. He loves history. And they have been wanting to go to that church since it’s been down here. They’re not tourists. They’ve lived here for almost three years. They know where to go and where not to go.

And I asked David. I said, is it safe? And he said there’s been nothing down there for months. He never would have taken Tiffany anywhere where she would have been in danger. Never. He crossed the border to go to work. He was safe. He always stayed safe.

    snipped from above link:
The Mexican military leader of the investigation into the disappearance of David Michael Hartley has been beheaded, according to Texas state representative Aaron Pena and Zapata County sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez.

A spokesman in the Tamaulipas state prosecutor’s office confirmed the death of Commander Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, but said that he was killed for reasons totally unrelated to Hartley’s disappearance.

However, Flores was apparently the source of the “two suspects” rumor that emerged over the weekend. Based on his tip, several media sources claimed that brothers Juan Pedro and Jose Manuel Zaldivar Farias were prime suspects; however, officials on both sides of the border specifically denied that there were any real suspects in the case, despite what Flores had said.

MOO: It appears there is still some debate out there about whether or not his killing is related to David’s disappearance.
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he(Flores) was killed for naming 2 “POI” who really weren’t “POI’s” so they went after him.
If she is making this whole thing up – the domino effect of her actions/stories has potentially huge ramifications…

Hello GraceintheHills you asked what I thought about Tiffany’s demeanor in the audio ect- Well after hearing her speak in the audio interview-(great interview I agree) I think at the very least, Tiffany may not have been as close to David as her family and David’s family thought- by no means am I saying that this in it self-leads one to believe that she has done anything criminal at all- She may simply not be emotional over David and her marriage memories ect, because she was no longer emotionally invested.

Think about it, she says they dated off and on, then later decided to get married- then David travels for work -often taking him away from her for extended periods of time- in Blink’s article she quotes TH FB in June-saying that She will be moving from Mexico and that she hopes they will stay in the new house for longer than 7 months-

She and David seem to be a part a great deal of the time at one point he is working in Russia then in Mexico he works 3 different jobs-
When they are together, they are mostly taking trips – I just don’t think Tiffany and David’s relationship was “close” in the way most people would compare it- Again, this could be the sole reason she is acting non-pulsed- She simply does not feel the way we think she would after 8 years….JMO

According to the Calfrac website, they had a 3 year contract with Pemex, starting in July of 2007. So their contract would have been expiring anyway. Their home office is in Denver Colorado.
From all indications this company is quite large and multinational. If DH worked for them as long as he says, I am curious to know why there has been no statement from them about his untimely death. Was he going to continue to work for them upon returning to Colorado? I think if law enforcement works that end of it, and seeks information from his employer, some new information might be found out.Trying to play cops and robbers with the Mexican officials is a dead end street, literally.

Did anyone notice that in this audio she described in detail the scary situation she was in in Reynosa some time ago?

14:55 (interviewer: So, what happened that night?) “It was about 10 o’clock at night, and I guess earlier that night there was shooting or something. These guys are holding these guns like it’s no big deal if they go off” “I mean, they’re flinging ‘em everywhere and they’re in t-shirts and jeans and shorts –I mean, just, it was odd.

Interesting how astute she was in observing multiple people and their dress and “these guns” -but has not copped to actually seeing more than one gun in her story, and NOTHING ELSE of age, dress, tattoos -nothing! -she has never even described, “the gun.” In fact, in one interview she said, “…3 boats had come towards us and we saw that they had guns. I didn’t personally see that.” (but somehow she knew that David did? (“we”)

WHAT I meant by the wedding ring: GS =Good Samaritan who helped her when she reached shore. She stated in her The Monitor audio tape the following: [14:20] [I see that you are wearing his ring.] TYH: Yeah, this isn’t the ring I gave him for wedding, but it’s the one he wore all the time, yeah, so. [it’s pretty] TYH: yep, yeah, We didn’t wear our rings and stuff when we went jet-skiing in fear we might lose it, but um, so yeah, I was thankful that he had it at home so I could have it.

So, if she had a wedding ring on her that day, before going back to McAllen, then that is her being caught in a non-truth! Something’s fishy. Maybe not…maybe they left rings at home. idk.

It is good to know that it is not illegal -so I also take back my complaint about that aspect. At the same time, it still is not advisable to venture 7 miles into another country that you know (first hand) as having violence/pirating issues. They even told their families that the reason they were moving home to CO was due to the border violence, and TYH has stated over and over that they were aware of the danger, and even discussed a plan of action if they were chased! This story is like going to the opera. One has to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the singing. This usually refers to the size of the lead soprano.

Fishermen litterly hate people on jet skis. A boat load of commercial fishermen might actually chase a person on a jet ski just to get them off the water. A lot of Texas lakes limit the days that jet skis can operate for that very reason.

There was blood reported to be found on her life vest. No one knows how it got there. It could have been place there on purpose to lend some credibility to her story.

If automatic weapons were used, there should be some hits on her ski as well. This is way too clean to match the events she described.

    Snip)

Last week, DPS released a video of the Hartleys being pulled over by a trooper who noticed the trailer carrying their jet skis had expired tags. A clip of the video played on KRGV showed that the truck’s plates were obscured by the jet ski trailer.

TPM’s call to Sheriff Gonzalez’s office to confirm that the plates on Hartley’s truck were Mexican was not immediately returned.

At the beginning of the tape (3:18) you can hear LE ask the driver when he bought the trailer (?) & DH tells them in May..

Still a real quiet day with a real quiet drive yet 3 LE officers for a tag stop after following him for a while..

    Lake killing blamed on blunder

It seems that Tiffany Hartley and her husband David MIGHT have been mistaken for rival members of another drug cartel. The Zetas, according to an Austin-based think tank specializing in drug wars and international issues., watched the Hartleys and saw there Mexican tags when they launched their skis…..

They mistook a very light haired blonde blue eyed woman and her husband, with blonde hair and blue eyes, who they had watched for quite awhile then saw them take pictures, according to Tiffany, and decided YEP they are rivals…. We must kill them- but apparently they did not get the “green light” from their boss, and so they let Tiffany go, and now are hiding from their boss who wants to kill them

Ok, no offense to anyone, but this girl could not play dead in a B Western.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I remember reading an article about this so-called beheading of an investigator after the story came out. The Mexican authorities said he was not even connected to the Hartley case. Now we have the grieving widow talking about sitting and discussing something with him??? All we have is a story about this incident and another story from TH. Again, nothing adds up.
This is going to turn out to be yet another perfect crime committed on foreign soil and the Hartley family just like the George Smith IV family will be completely unable to ever get any real information and they will have no recourse.
If you will recall in the Smith cruise death, no body, but blood found on part of the ship. I don’t remember if it was ever even identified as the blood of Smith.
Royal Caribbean settled out of court with that “grieving” widow. They had only been married a few days.
This is going to turn out to be the “offing of choice” for disgruntled spouses wanting to cut loose from the ties that bind knowing full well the American authorities will have no jurisdiction.
My only question is, TH stood to gain something out of this, the question is, what. What was the motive? It is usually money. But where will the $$ come from in this? There is no way this story went down the way it was described.

How does she know it is this investigator, his pic has been released?

    Ugh.

It definitely seems as though The Hartleys knew what a dangerous adventure they were undertaking. So, I believe that Tiffany should definitely NOT be using her husbands death as a call to arms for the politicians to step up border patrol issues ect- as it seems to me, that people like the Hartleys that disregard warnings and travel into international waters, known to be ‘owned’ by pirates, are actually making your husband, and your family’s jobs harder. And some would say, even putting them in harms way so that they can live dangerously and take chances… for nothing more than a picture. Unacceptable in my eyes.

No I don’t think Tiffany should be the poster child for border issues or national security issues.

If you really care about truth and justice in this country, read, and be informed about the REAL facts. Not the made up pablum that CNN and the networks give you. You will never get the truth from them.

Two innocent teenage boys were murdered in Arkansas and it is widely known that they witnessed drug activity back in the mid 80s when Clinton was governor of Arkansas. The coroner lied about the condition of their bodies and said the two boys had been smoking marijuana and laid down on the railroad tracks in Mena Arkansas, fell asleep and got run over by a train.
Their parents later had their bodies re-autopsied. They had been shot and killed, there was no drug in their system, and their bodies had been laid over the tracks BEFORE they were run over by the train.

It is fact that if the target is moving and the shooter is also moving at high speeds in a boat, The shooter will never get a clean shot to the head. Unless I apply all fundamentals of shooting, I will not hit my target. This only happens in Hollywood. Perhaps Tiffany saw this on “Miami Vice”. If they did have automatic weapons like Tiffany preaches….There will be hundreds of shots being spayed everywhere.

Furthermore if her Jet ski is moving at a high rate of speed, It would be impossible for her to see rounds hitting the water, not to mention hear them. In addition it is insult to injury when she tells her story and she claims she went back to get him. I can not speculate enough how much of the truth she is not telling. It is interesting on her Facebook page she is always posting about her boring life. It is also interesting that she is a fan of Dave Ramsey and goes so far to say that he has helped her. Suspect that there were financial problems. It looked like they lived a lavish lifestyle as well. Jet ski’s, motorcycles, Trucks. I could go on and on. Tiffany needs to be investigated, and I’ll add some more insight into this;, she indeed is. The authority’s do not believe her, They are allowing her to tell her story and run the media so they can build their case. Furthermore, she does not realize this. Tiffany wants the fame of fortune and to live her fifteen minutes as long as she can. Remember Scott Peterson, Susan Smith? Enough said.

She was the one that crossed the boarder! She uses this as a blanket to push her own personal agenda, which is getting her husbands body back, or now its any evidence of any sort to support her “story”. She has twisted this whole senerio into something it is not, and why? Because it is her shield to hide behind, to not have to tell exactly what happened on that lake. Because as it has been pointed out by so many reasonable people, her version of events, cannot fesibly happen.

If David is the one who made the phone call that morning to his mother about going to visit the church, and if that is viewed as an “alibi”, then that means David is alive.

Also his mother said he has always wanted to visit that particular church – they were LIVING in Mexico for 3 years and they couldn’t make it to the church? His mother just doesn’t doubt anything. Strange behavior, just blindly agrees with Tiff on everything and believes every word Tiff says.

Is David’s mother in on this? MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Lee, I do understand what you are saying. It has been bad aruund the border here in Texas for quite some time now, even during the previous administration.

That being said, David and Tiffany should have known the dangers. Perhaps living in Mexico for the past several years gave them a false sense of security.

  29. Camsmom says:

    Blink,
Do you feel that this is being investigated at all by any type of law enforcement? Or do you feel that the story has been bought hook, line, and sinker, and will not be investigated? Who can we as a public contact to request (plead our case, and our evidenced) that someone look into this, and NOT sheriff Sigi?

Personally, I think the fact that the results from the alleged blood “drop/smear” are not back are complete BS.

Some poor guy’s head ends up in luggage and the US can’t return a swab?

Can someone with a Federal level of authority stop these people from further embarrassing our LE agencies?

@ Madilu – I think Tiffany is going on every talk show possible to convince everyone he is in fact dead. Kind of like an almost self-fulfilling prophecy (Psych 101) where if you keep saying something long enough it comes true…if she keeps saying he’s dead and she wants everyone to believe he’s dead, he will be declared dead (even if he’s not). Plus she probably thinks that these constant interviews will keep people looking forward and not looking back.

I still wonder if either David or an unknown boyfriend of TH is somewhere in Mexico watching all this media stuff and laughing….

Oh BTW good point from A Texas Grandfather – geez how many shots did they fire while chasing Tiffany, with bullets flying everywhere, and not a single ding in her jetski from a bullet? WTH this whole story stinks to high heaven. MOO

Personally, if my husband worked in Mexico, with all the violence going on, I would for sure have a more (private) life insurance policies, given the circumstances.

I have been married the exact same amount of years that Tiffany and David have been. I cannot understand why this girl is on T.V. ALL the TIME! Give it a rest and go grieve, already. I wouldn’t be able to leave the house, let alone be on a different t.v. show every day straight for the last 2 weeks. My face and eyes would be swollen shut from all the crying of losing my spouse of 8 years. I don’t think I’d be able to form two words either. It’s tragic losing your spouse all together, but it would be terrifying and gut wrenching to see your spouse murdered in front of your eyes, espcecially knowing you had to leave his body, not knowing if he was for sure dead.

ZAPATA — The governor of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, Eugenio Hernandez Flores, has invited Tiffany Young-Hartley to go to Miguel Aleman and file a formal complaint about the alleged slaying of her husband, David Michael Hartley, on the Mexican side of Falcon Reservoir. [snip]

She filed a complaint at the consulate, they could interview her here. Personally, there are like 100 ways that could go down on US soil that makes sense to me.

Lee, thank you for your detailed/informative post….and your point of view. My wife & I have been both following this blog & we wondered about video. So, my question to ponder now…per the Sheriff Gonzalez, being on her side….MAYBE the Hartley’s were indeed “conducting a criminal transaction” that day & the meeting was a final meeting of some sort…is it possible that the video does show David being killed by the Zetas and the US can’t do anything about it? (on Mexico land) And the US LE realize/KNOW that Tiffany’s bizare stories are lies that she is fabricating because she doesn’t want all of us viewers to know the criminal lifestyle that they really were living? (Still puzzed about the lack of grief though.)

Just saw tiff on JVM. she states the mexican detective killed sat next to her with a translator to discuss the DH case. i’m not seeing a distraught, grieving widow. She says on camera that “we just want david back… maybe they can’t provide a body, i don’t know, but they could provide something of evidence… anything that would tell us… ya know that.. where david’s at… ya know, we just want him back. just give us that and we’ll go away”. then giggles and says “i mean”.

in reading crickets comment above about the lake boundary, tiff must know that too and that’s why she was pointing out last week that the body is probably in the brush, not the water…. hint, hint, americans cannot go on land in mexico.

Linda, I saw Issues with TH. She is getting desperate, now, she just
wants “evidence” DH is deceased, $he is getting antsy.

She almost grinned when she said evidence, then she caught herself. She is going to get caught up in her story:)

This was on the ‘Today Show’ website, this afternoon.

Authorities believe the death of David Hartely on Falcon lake may be a case of mistaken identity in a turf battle between rival drug cartels, a sheriff confirmed Thursday.

“Hartley, is believed to have been shot by Zetas cartel enforcers because he was mistaken for an operative of the rival Gulf cartel, according to an independent intelligence report.

    ————————————————————

    >>Oh really, so 100 lbs, young little blonde ladies are being mistaken as part of the ‘Gulf Cartel’ too? Tiffany was with David and there are no reports every stating that the Gulf Cartel guys have ever taken jet skis out on that lake before.

    Not buying this one…

Yes, well, my question would have been, if it is possible they were mistaken as such, could it be that they were?

She did say that they “don’t blend in”.

I don’t believe this, thinking STRATFOR made it up. I, too believe there is more to this story. However, I am inclined to believe that LE knows more about the shooters than they are letting us know….and it isn’t the wife.

It is not uncommon for the investigating official to be beheaded and set out like a trophy. It is not uncommon for them to have let her go. It is not uncommon for them to have taken DH’s body and not return it….I think this is why she is focusing on “just give us the body back”. It is not unusual that the Mexican government is doing nothing, and denying any violence. And it certainly is not uncommon for it to have been a group of juveniles, or teenagers. There are warnings in all of the school districts here to be wary of recruitment by cartels in ALL of the schools….every grade level. We already know that there are many involved in the public schools….and we do nothing. As far as Mexico wanting TH to come to Mexico…if they believe she committed a crime on the Mexican side, I believe they would have to request extradition….don’t think they can invite her over and arrest her.

Live here, it will put a whole new perspective on what is “normal” crime and what is not. It is guerrilla warfare…and it is as unconventional as it gets!

I did not see a post regarding your question about license plates. If the vehicle is registered in Texas, there must be two plates, one on the front and another on the rear. Trailers only have a single tag.

LE in Texas know which states do not require two tags. People sometimes allow their trailer tags to expire. That could have been the reason for the stop by LE.

Yes, thank you ATG. It is the same in my state, so, technically, since we do not know how they came up on his vehicle, they could have read his front tag, and the trailer tag may have to “point” to the vehicle tag. Not sure.

  42. lily says:

I live in Texas – and you don’t even “have” to have a front license plate. I drove my last SUV for 5 years with no front plate – I’ve never had a ticket in my life and have a perfect driving record since I was 15 years old which I remind my boys of every chance I get LOL

Current trailer tags are routinely ignored in Texas for boat trailers unless they want to have a reason to pull you over. As long as your trailer has working lights and you aren’t weaving in and out of traffic or doing anything to bring attention to yourself – you’re not going to get pulled over – let alone by THREE highway troopers. Not gonna happen – no way.

However, since this morning I read that the boat trailer had Tamaulipas Mexico tags on it – I can somewhat understand the pullover. That was new info to me.

IMO this has “let her talk and talk and talk” written all over it. Mexican officials want to question her very badly in their jurisdiction so they can arrest her if she contradicts herself or otherwise incriminates herself.

Where are the forensics results from the blood tests that were supposed to be back on Tuesday? I’d like to know.

As a former systems person I have to say Texas doesn’t have the most user friendly sites for searching info so this is all I was able to come us with for vehicle plate requirements..

    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_you_need_a_front_license_plate_in_the_state_of_texas

    Answer
    Yes.

    Unfortunately. . .
There was a bill introduced but it did not pass the last legislative session.

    http://www.legis.state.tx.us/BillLookup/BillStages.aspx?LegSess=80R&Bill=HB1666

Front and rear plates are still required.

    http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us
The purpose for this edit was that many posts around the web referenced an incorrect section and it is not clear that HB 1666 was not passed the correct section is 502.404 an excerpt is included but please follow the link for the full text… ♥

  44. lily says:

Whoops – Texas Gpa is right now that I look it up – I was “supposed” to have a front plate all that time but I never bought the bracket or installed it – and never, ever got pulled over or anything for 5 years. I didn’t want to ruin the look of the BMW X5 (which before the recession was a luxury that I don’t indulge in right now). So in my opinion – of course it’s only my experience – that unless they “want” to pull you over they will overlook the lack of a license plate or an expired boat trailer tag in order to do better things.

I agree. I understand they have drones that monitor those areas so they might have picked up something.

There’s a website where anyone can become a virtual deputy and watch the border.
    http://www.blueservo.net/

It’s a 2million dollar program instituted by the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition.
Trouble is, I can’t tell one border from another.

  46. Lee says:

BLINK- In Texas one’s trailer has a plate on the back only. The tags for the vehicle towing it has two plates, back and front and generally, the trailer plate matches the plate belonging to the towing vehicle, meaning the same license plate numbers. The plate on the back of the trailer must be visible from the rear. The trailer should have lights for the brakes etc. but if the towing vehicle has lights that are high on the back, you can get away with not having them on the trailer.

I’m still going to stick my neck out and say that I believe that we are not hearing the whole story regarding this incident and in the end, we will find out that TH is not lying. The very fact that the Mexican investigator was murdered and beheaded strongly suggests to me that it was his punishment for “ratting” out the real culprits. When the cartels kill people….they are sending a message. And when they cut off body parts, it usually means that the body part removed is synonymous with the crime they committed against the cartel. Having one’s head removed is synonymous with “talking”.
I can pretty much guarantee you….if TF was someone that hurt the cartels in some way or interfered with them in some way….she would be dead already.

The Gulf cartel is based in Matamoros, Tamaulipas state, and smuggles cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and methamphetamine into the US. The cartel is known for its violence and intimidation. Aside from earning money from narcotics sales, the Gulf cartel also collects “taxes” from dealers and local businesses in exchange for protection. They are also reportedly expanding their business into kidnapping for ransom.
