David Hartley Gunned Down On Jet Ski In Mexico : Tiffany Young-Hartley Facing Scrutiny

Posted by BOC Staff | Bizarre Crime,Blink,David Hartley,Falcon Lake,Mexican Territory,Murdered,Tiffany Young-Hartley | Tuesday 5 October 2010 10:34 pm

According to his wife, Tiffany Young-Hartley, who called 911, David Hartley, 30, was gunned down by Mexican pirates while the couple ventured across the Falcon Resovior lakes US border to take pictures of the “Mexican Atlantis” or Old Guerreo.

HartleyJetSkiClose

Hartley says her husband was shot in the head and as a result “flew” off his jet ski while the couple was returning from the landmark on the Mexican side of the lake, after taking pictures. She goes on to say she became aware of 3 different boats chasing down the couple only after she saw bullets hitting the water next to her. As she turned around to see where they were coming from, she claims she witnessed her husbands murder.

David was driving a new Sea Doo RXT ski that can climb from 0–30MPH in 1.7 seconds and is capable of top-end speeds of over 60 MPH.  Blinkoncrime.com has not been able to confirm which model Ms. Hartley was driving. The couple had been on at least one earlier jet ski jaunt while still in Mexico, but was cut short due to a mishap with David’s craft on June 20th.

HartleyMovingJune2010

According to his wife, David was face-down in the water, wearing a life vest, after he was shot.

Despite the horror of what she had just witnessed and astonishingly avoiding injury to her or her watercraft, she circled back around, jumped off her jet ski, and turned her 250 lb. husband upright to observe the gunshot wound to his forehead. You read that correctly, according to Tiffany Hartley, while being chased from behind, David was shot from the front. Hartley maintains this is when she attempted to load him onto her jet ski, and also when two of the three boats were now positioned in front of her.

TiffanyFB

One of the alleged pirate boats from the front approached her within 10 ft. While she stared down the barrell of his gun, she was holding onto her husband with one hand, her ski with the other asking not to be shot. Apparently through some sort of Mexican telepathy or nautical sign language, the men who just ambushed the couple and murdered her husband in cold blood, made a decision to let her go and retreated IN FRONT OF HER.

Hartley claims she cannot identify any of the men, that they never said a word to her nor could she hear anything they may have said to each other, but believes the motive for the attack to be robbery or to kidnap her. It is not clear how Tiffany arrived at this conclusion as they never made an attempt to stop them or ask them for their money, she was off her $13,000 Sea doo they could have easily taken, and they let her go.

It was at this time that Hartley finally did hear something. She says she heard the voice of God tell her to leave David, save herself and get to safety. However, his instruction must have been non-specific because she proceeded to mount her ski in deep water, start it back up, and drive directly toward and then past the very band of gun weilding murderous cartel who minutes ago gunned down her highschool sweetheart and spouse of 8 years. (Editors note: I cannot imagine the nerve it takes to again have your back to the same crew who, unprovoked, sprayed the lake with bullets behind you while you were fleeing for your life).

While Tiffany admits the couple was aware of recent pirate activity in the area they learned about while David researched the location, she claims they had not heard of anymore incidents on Falcon Lake, which borders both Texas and Mexico, “in a while.”

The Hartley’s, who had recently been on a few tropical vacations, were in the process of relocating to Colorado next week from Reynosa, Mexico and McAllen Texas, where they had lived for only a few months, following David’s transfer request to Calfrac well services.

According to recent Facebook postings, although the couple could not agree on furniture tastes, they recently purchased a house full of it just after a luxury cruise and visit to a seminar for those experiencing financial difficulty.

I would love to be able to do no analysis and regergetate this story as reported by main stream media whereby not one reporter asks the obvious question:

After several known incidents of piracy in that location over the last months, why would the “pirates” suddenly go on a murderous rampage in lieu of attempting to rob a couple on jet skis that could outrun them on sight?

Not gonna happen. I have heard umpteen versions of Ms. Hartley’s version of events leading to the random execution of her husband.

None pass the smell test. However, just today, Zapata County Sheriff “Sigi” Gonzalez, Jr says his investigation, now aided by a witness who is a long standing member of the Zapata community, exonerates Mrs. Hartley of any wrongdoing.

Gonzalez completely rules out foul play on the part of Mrs. Hartley.

“A local witness saw Tiffany Hartley escaping on her jet-ski to the Texas side of the lake,” he said. “She came in at high speed and was being pursued by armed men in a Mexican fishing boat that that the witness clearly observed.”

Gonzalez said the witness was a long-standing member of the Zapata community who was well known to him and regarded as highly credible.

“The testimony of this witness dispels any idea Mrs. Hartley was involved in any wrongdoing regarding the murder of her husband,” he said firmly. “She called in a 911 phone call to our office at around 2:20 p.m. on the day of the incident, immediately after she got to shore, and her statements to my office confirm what the local witness observed.”

Unfortunately, the witness account does not match Tiffany Hartley’s own version of events. At no time has she ever said that she was again chased by the “pirates”, in fact, she claims she left them behind after driving “through” them.

Hartley references recent pirate activity, which is almost verbatim what she says happened to her and David, with the exception of the actual piracy:

On April 30, five people in two different boats were fishing on Falcon Lake and went to the Old Guerrero area, where they were taking photos of the old church. While they were there, a boat with four heavily tattooed men approached the two boats quickly. The men identified themselves as “Federales,” but they were not wearing uniforms. The men boarded the boats, demanded cash and asked “where are the drugs?” The fishermen told the men that they had no drugs and were just fishing and taking photos. They ended up giving the men $200 cash and left the area. The pirates followed the two boats, but the U.S. boats were able to outrun them and the men stopped following once the two boats entered U.S. waters.

In every recorded incident since April, the heavily tattoed pirates posing as “Federales” without uniforms, came upon anchored fishing boats, boarded them, robbed the fisherman at gunpoint of any personal cash, searched for drugs left without any violence. In the Hartley family interview on the Today show, Tiffany states that after David was hit, she circled around, jumped off her jetski, swam over to her husband and because he was “face down in the water” she had to turn him over where she discovered he was shot in the head.

It would seem I am not alone in my quagmire.  Mexican Investigators, who hold jurisdiction have already begun to question Ms. Hartley’s story.

Marco Antonio Guerrero Carrizales, the district attorney for the Miguel Aleman Province adjoining Falcon Lake on the Mexican side, has questioned whether Tiffany Hartley was involved in foul play.

Early this morning, Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez announced the Mexican Authorities will be searching the area where David Hartley was murdered, and have committed to “not leaving” until they find him. Tiffany Hartley, accompanied by her parents, but without David’s, filed a missing person report at the Mexican Consulate last night as a matter of procedure to “get the ball rolling”.

I believe there is something hinky about the job/move situation… which may lead to motivation or to whatever transpired. We know reports of the following (and yes, if you press me, I will provide links)

    1. Hartley/Young family members told reporters that the couple told them they were moving away from the area due to being tired of the increasing border violence.

    2. TYH told reporters that earlier in the year, Calfrac told them to move to US side because of violence.

    3. They moved to McAllen in June, at which time, Tiff thought would be “longer than 7 months” and they proceeded to rent a home, install a land line and cable (AT&T), and purchase a “house full of furniture.” They even planned and took nice vacation to Key West, just 2 weeks before a big, and what had to be expensive move, requiring coordination of services from utilities to movers, etc. Not to mention packing.

    4. TYH also told a reporter (The Monitor)that David faced either being laid off, or transferred back to Colorado, and that Calfrac valued his work, so offered him the transfer, and he accepted.

    5. TYH also told, or implied to, reporters and family that David “requested a transfer” himself to Colorado. And that they were in McAllen only until the transfer request was complete. (Even though 3 months ago, she hoped for a stay in McAllen of “more than 7 months.”

    6. One week prior to their alleged move to Colorado from Texas, TYH reported a vague plan/scenario as to where they were going to live. No plan -hotel only, she said. And I might mention that she implied also that whatever real estate agent they were working with, flaked out. No mention of a moving company, putting things in storage, no indication of an exact town where they would live, at least, temporarily.

    7. Tiff publicly stated, in the “ticked off” tone that she did, that David was essentially forced to serve 3 or 4 roles within the company and that he, “worked his butt off for them.” …and they knew it!

    My questions are:

    1) Why would Calfrac insist that the couple move to McAllen in the spring, shortly before the company knew they were facing lay offs? These things do NOT come out of the blue. That’s a lot of trouble and expense for the company to relocate -and it stands to reason that if Calfrac paid their living expenses as ex-pats, then they would also compensate for a re-lo -that is, re-lo to McAllen, and re-lo to Colorado as well.
    2) Why such a vague plan about where in CO they planned to live, given, if he did get a re-assignment from Calfrac, then they would know that they would temporarily be setting up shop close to his job.
    3) Why tell the family they were moving back by choice, when in fact it appears that Tiff’s later disclosure indicates that in fact he had no choice.
    4) What real estate agent in this climate flakes out on a couple seeking a home that would most likely be over 200K, given their historical purchases?
    5) Why has Calfrac not made any type of public statement of condolences for an employee who has worked, in honor, for them for many years, having worked his way up from truck driving to management? OR why would they not have provided more support to Tiff, other than, ‘calling to check in after they heard what David did.’ (yes, “what David did” -her words.)
    6) Why was David, serving 3 to 4 roles at the company, including management, yet not at work on a Thursday? And after having just come back from vacation time off?
    7) Was he, in fact, FIRED by Calfrac, or laid off? Not able to face the family, his wife, perceived failure about that, and having no education, or anything to fall back on in this awful economy….chose another route, another plan??

Would love to hear your thoughts, and also please point out if I am inaccurate about reports we have heard, or if I have left out pertinent reports.

Was Falcon Lake Killing a Case of Mistaken Identity?
Updated: 1 hour 8 minutes ago

    David Lohr Contributor
    AOL News
(Oct. 14) — An American whose wife says he was shot by Mexican pirates on a border lake may have been killed in a case of mistaken identity, an independent intelligence report says.

“From what we understand, the victim was believed to be a spy for a rival cartel called the Gulf and that’s why he was shot by Zeta cartel enforcers,” Fred Burton, vice president of intelligence for Stratfor, said in a video posted on the company’s website.

Tiffany Hartley with husband, David Hartley, who was allegedly killed by Mexican pirates on the waters of Falcon Lake on the Texas-Mexico border.

A think tank report claims David Hartley, shown with wife Tiffany, was mistaken for a spy for a rival cartel when he was allegedly killed by Mexican pirates on the waters of Falcon Lake on the Texas-Mexico border.
The report by Texas-based Stratfor, a global intelligence think thank, was first covered by the San Antonio Express-News this morning and has since been picked up by multiple media outlets around the world.

Tiffany Hartley, 29, told police that she and her husband, David Hartley, 30, were riding a pair of Jet Skis on the Mexican side of Falcon Lake on Sept. 30 when Mexican pirates shot at them. According to Tiffany, one of the bullets struck her husband in the back of the head, and he fell into the water. Tiffany Hartley says she tried to pull her husband from the water, but more gunfire forced her to retreat.

Despite multiple searches, which are continuing this week, neither David Hartley’s body nor his Jet Ski has been recovered.

David Hartley worked for an oil and gas company, and he and his wife had recently relocated to McAllen, Texas, from Mexico, where they had lived for approximately two years. According to the Stratfor report, the couple’s vehicle still had a license plate from Mexico’s Tamaulipas state.

“Given the couple’s license plate and method and direction of travel, it is possible that Zeta scouts identified them as a Gulf cartel surveillance team,” the Stratfor report said.

Hartley’s body has not been found because the Zetas “identified [him] as an American” and his remains were destroyed to prevent a “backlash from the U.S. government against the group,” the report said.

The report also alleged that the men who killed Hartley were low-level enforcers, and they are now on a hit list.

“The cartel boss … is highly upset over the fact that these individuals shot and killed Mr. Hartley, and it’s our understanding that the cartel boss is hunting for the killers of Mr. Hartley so he can take care of them himself,” Burton said.

The Stratfor report further alleged that the Zeta drug cartel’s second in command, Miguel “Z-40″ Trevino-Morales, is leading the charge “to identify and eliminate those who engaged the Hartleys.”

According to the Express-News, Trevino-Morales is named in federal court documents as the No. 2 and is wanted by Laredo, Texas, police in connection with five slayings that he allegedly ordered in the U.S. in 2005 and 2006. Morales is also wanted in the U.S. on drug trafficking charges, the newspaper said.

The U.S. State Department is offering a $5 million reward for information leading to Trevino-Morales’ arrest or conviction. The Mexican government is also offering a reward of 30 million pesos, about $2.4 million, the Express-News reported.

Neither the Stratfor report nor Burton’s video cites any sources for the information, but Zapata County, Texas, Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez told MSNBC.com today that the theories are plausible.

“It wouldn’t be unheard of for cartels to do this, and it’s the way cartels work,” said Gonzalez, the investigator who is heading up the case on the U.S. side.

“Anyone going into the area is going to get stopped and checked by the cartels,” Gonzalez added. “They have machine guns. They will pull you aside, grab you, put you on their boat face down, and with their knees into your back and a machine gun to your head, they will ask you who you are.”

El Universal newspaper reported Sunday that Mexican police had identified two brothers as suspects in Hartley’s alleged slaying. But, on Monday, Ruben Dario Rios Lopez, spokesman for the state attorney general in Tamaulipas, denied authorities had identified any suspects in the case, The Monitor newspaper in McAllen, Texas, reported.

Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, the police commander heading the Mexican investigation in the Hartley case, was killed and his severed head was delivered Tuesday to police.

Speaking with CNN today, Gonzalez said he believed Flores’ killing was intended as “a message to Mexico to back off, for the search to stop.” While that may be the case, both Gonzalez and officials in Mexico say the search for Hartley’s body and other evidence in the case will continue.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has also spoken out about the case, telling ABC’s “Good Morning America” today that the United States is “doing everything that we know how to do” to find Hartley’s body.

“I hope that we can [find him],” Clinton said. “I mean, the beheaded body of the brave Mexican investigator that just showed up shows what we’re dealing with.”

Lots of info in this piece- I wonder if this is the incident in Reynosa that Tiffany mentioned-

    “Mexico: The Third War”

    Snipped
“Then on Feb. 17, a major firefight occurred just across the border from the United States in Reynosa, when Mexican authorities attempted to apprehend several armed men seen riding in a vehicle. The men fled to a nearby residence and engaged the pursuing police with gunfire, hand grenades and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). After the incident, in which five cartel gunmen were killed and several gunmen, cops, soldiers and civilians were wounded, authorities recovered a 60 mm mortar, five RPG rounds and two fragmentation grenades.”

    Anyway- Back onn topic
I found another interesting article that goes into detail about the cartels and drug routes ect- Keep in mind this is from Starford- but I found it interesting

    Snipped-

… The Juarez cartel created its own band of police called La Linea and the Gulf cartel took things yet another step and hired Los Zetas, a group of elite anti-drug paratroopers who deserted their federal Special Air Mobile Force Group in the late 1990s.

The Gulf cartel’s private special operations unit raised the bar yet another notch, and the Sinaloa cartel formed its own paramilitary unit called Los Negros to counter the strength of Los Zetas. With paramilitary forces comes military armament, and cartel enforcers graduated from using pistols and submachine guns to regularly employing fully automatic assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and hand grenades….

….Los Zetas worked with former Guatemalan special forces commandos called Kaibiles and with the Mara Salvatrucha street gang (MS-13). La Linea formed a close alliance with the American Barrio Azteca street gang and with Los Aztecas, the gang’s Mexican branch. Cartels also recruit heavily, and it is now common to see them place “help wanted” signs in which they offer soldiers and police officers big money if they will quit their jobs and join a cartel enforcer unit.

Case of mistaken identity? Perhaps, but then why all the deceitful behavior by Tiffany? Why are there so many improbable elements to her story? Could they have been drug runners like other posters have suggested here? I hope that this case is thoroughly investigated and justice is served.

I have no doubt that there isn’t some type of US authority investigating Tiff’s story and background. It is so blatantly obvious to so many people that her story is jive. There’s no way this is going unscrutinized.

She just keeps digging herself deeper and deeper. And that’s why these shows keep putting her on the air, imo, because it’s becoming entertainment value – in a sick, morbid, sad way.

If the story she gives IS true, then she is the oddest duck I have ever seen.

She should go sit in on a support group for loved ones of murder victims and see how normal people feel and react.

I feel sorry for David’s mom. I’mma feelin’ that if she belives Tiff, which she appears to, then she’s doing it out of grief-derived delusion.

Great layout of events. I completely agree there are some major questions to be asked in these areas. It seems to me, the plan as she had known it, moving back to McAllen, fell short. Why is the question. Either that, or all she fb’d about was false. If that relocation were to be temporary, wouldnt that be the place to stay in a hotel, use storage ( wonder if they have) or stay w/ family, and await the move to CO?
Yes, it seems suprising there has been no formal response from Calfrec during this national media frenzy. Who doesnt get on the bandwagon to support their ideal employee? Is he still employed there? I also wonder, was he really working w/ them so often as TYH says? Where was he? Back in May, June she writes about him being away, isnt that just a hop/skip away from McAllen? Why not return at night? Actually, she was in Reynosa, having hoped ‘to make it to McAllen’. So she was in Mexico and he in the US, why couldnt she visit friends then too? Strange. I would like to see if he is still an employee. Much remains to be learned here.

Registration Tags, Driver’s Licenses and Vehicle Ownership:

    1) Trailer had expired Texas or Colorado tags? When did they buy the skis and trailer? Were they insured?
    2) Truck had Tamp. MX tags or Texas or Colorado tags?
    3) Is the truck owned by the Hartleys or is it a Calfrac company vehicle?
    4) Wouldn’t Calfrac require that David have a valid current driver’s Texas or a Mexico license to drive a company vehicle? A huge company like Calfrac would have requirements from their insurer to keep updated records of all of the employees licenses, etc.
    5) Was David’s license a Class A CDL? I realize it was still a Colorado driver’s license.
    6) What vehicle did Tiffany drive? I’ve heard no mention of them owning another vehicle – so did they both drive the Calfrac truck?

Moving – Madilu made some excellent points
    1) Had the Hartley’s hired movers or were they making arrangements to drive a u-haul or something?
    2) Where were they going to put all of their stuff once they got to Colorado? Surely they checked into storage options or something? Not to mention where they were going to sleep at night.
    3) Why would they buy a bunch of furniture for a rented house knowing David’s company was having massive layoff’s and relocating people?
    4) Where was David’s Colorado Calfrac office going to be?
    5) Was he basically “on hold” in Reynosa? Is that why he took so much time off right before a huge relocation for a job that was so critical that he was doing the work of 3-4 people?
    6) Where is Calfrac’s voice in all of this? I realize they have a huge vested interest in Reynosa and not endangering other employees there by not speaking out – but it seems they have basically abandoned the Hartleys – are they offering financial support to Tiffany?
    7) Why are all of the friends reasonably quiet on the FB pages and condolence boards?
    8) Why have most of the politicians backed off of this like it was a hot potato? Why is Sigi so quiet too?
    9) Where are the results of the forensics on the microscopic speck of blood on the life vest that was returned to Tiffany – and why was it returned to her?

And last – how do you go about saying, “all we want is ‘evidence’ of David’s body and we’ll go away forever [giggle]” when your husband was just tragically killed before your very eyes? (That was a paraphrase).

Somehow I missed your post from yesterday afternoon about the DH employment scenario. Good work!! That was my suggestion, that we work the employment end of this and go backward, because those are the only known FACTS. Everything else we know or have been told is either lies, speculation, or planted stories to throw off investigators.
If they were moving back to Colorado it would have had to be the Denver area because that is where the headquarters are.
Also their vacations, expenditures are very telling. The $$ has to come from somewhere.
Because of the BP scandal, there was a moritorium on ALL drilling, which has since been lifted. You’d think with all the publicity surrounding that fiasco, that the Hartleys would have been well aware that the oil spill could spell even further disaster of the unemployment variety. Not to mention we were in full blown hurricane season when all that went down. From June to September, those rig workers know they can be forced to evacuate at any time due to incoming storms.

This new “mistaken identity” theory and rival drug gang killing news is BS and another planted story. The Hartleys had been living in Mexico for 3 years! Those gringos were probably being watched the whole time. Mistaken identity? How many white boys live and work in Mexico?? Not many! No drug kingpin is going to let anyone edge them out of their profits. And they would never have ambushed him on a lake, too much can go wrong. Remember they were LEAVING Mexico to return to the United States.

Been wondering what the water level was around the old church, esp with recent hurricane rain. Per TH’s comment about the brush area. Last week I found the church & town ruins on google maps and zoomed in….so cool. (Don’t know how old the imagery is.) But thinking that the periods of drought and receding water levels would allow brush/grass/etc to grow. The water on maps looks like it is green with algae. But wondering where she spotted them-vs-waterlevel-vs-brush & small islands on map. Did LE inspect her jetski when she came to shore? (Algae, gunshots, blood/brains?)

Also, on the map…you can see a few homes/auto’s in the area…if you zoom around. Other things I have pondered….

    1. Maybe these are cartel home/gang quarters? Could they have really been headed to homes and not church (illegal transactions)
    2. Does the US LE have anyone undercover in Mexico?
    3. Could David or jetski be at one of these home/shacks?
    4. Per TH fb comment about taking jetski out…where did they go? Falcon? Seems hist buff/photo lover had taken photos then.
    5. Did I read somewhere that they had just bought a new jetski? If so, wouldn’t they have taken it out to play between before 9/30?
    6. Per fb comment above about moving and not finished yet…she makes it sound like they are slowly moving out (bit at a time) But I thought his company paid mover expenses/movers to do it? Did I read somewhere that they had been in McAllen 5 month? 41. Cricket says:

Here is another possible ingredient to the story:

David worked for Cafrac which does contract work for Pemex. It turns out that the drug cartels had infiltrated the Reynosa operations of Pemex to an unbelievable extent during this past year. The way I understand it, the cartel would actually divert the oil and natural gas pipelines and sell the fuel. Many Pemex employees as well as employees of Pemex contractors such as Cafrac were “encouraged” to secretly work for the cartels through their legitimate positions in the company. Those who resisted the cartel’s recruitment efforts did so at their own peril. Last spring over 30+ workers disappeared.

Below are some bits from an L.A. Times Article.

“Mexican drug cartels cripple Pemex operations in basin
The kidnappings of five petroleum company workers along with 30 others have terrorized the oil community, paralyzing segments of the business. Months later, families have still heard nothing.”

“The traffickers are establishing it clearly,” said Sen. Graco Ramirez, a member of the congressional energy committee. “You collaborate, or you die.”

    Malidu —

Here’s my opinions (nothing factual) on your questions. You bring up a lot of good points about DH’s employment. I think you should read this article to understand the issues in DH’s line of work:

“Mexican Drug Cartels Cripple Pemex Operations in Basin”
    http://articles.latimes.com/2010/sep/06/world/la-fg-mexico-pemex-20100906

Calfrac was a subcontractor for Pemex.

A: CF most likely moved them in June, 2010 because there were 35 kidnappings of employees from Pemex and Pemex subcontractors!!!! They didn’t move them because of random border violence, in my opinion they moved them because oil workers were being targeted by the Cartel. The layoffs came shortly after the kidnappings, I believe (you’ll have to read the article for this to make sense).

    2) Why such a vague plan about where in CO they planned to live, given, if he did get a re-assignment from Calfrac, then they would know that they would temporarily be setting up shop close to his job.

A: Hinky…I agree. TH seems to spin everything nicely reguarding their finances. DH could have been laid off until a job turned up in CO. Hard to say. In other interviews she says something about the relocation not being finalized yet.

    3) Why tell the family they were moving back by choice, when in fact it appears that Tiff’s later disclosure indicates that in fact he had no choice.

A: ??Maybe DH did tell Calfrac he didn’t want anymore international assignments, so in a way they made a choice to goto CO. I don’t know.

    4) What real estate agent in this climate flakes out on a couple seeking a home that would most likely be over 200K, given their historical purchases?

A: I agree 100% — this is total BS. I don’t think she ever planned on moving back.

A: Pemex has kept the kidnappings against oil employees very, very quiet. They are probably doing their own investigation into DH disapperace.

It is notable that CF was providing TH with security, and remember her “private security firm” delayed her initial press conference.

    6) Why was David, serving 3 to 4 roles at the company, including management, yet not at work on a Thursday? And after having just come back from vacation time off?

A: Unclear if DH was on a temp lay off, isn’t it?

    7) Was he, in fact, FIRED by Calfrac, or laid off? Not able to face the family, his wife, perceived failure about that, and having no education, or anything to fall back on in this awful economy….chose another route, another plan??

    ??

Just my humble opinion. The LA Times article gave me a whole new perspective on this case.

Just to try to answer some of your questions:
There has been no mention of collecting evidence off the jet ski -stands to reason that if she were trying to pull him up, with blood and brain matter involved, that at least some evidence would be there…

    5. I don’t know if they ‘just bought a new ski’ but I did swear I heard in the DPS stop footage (when they were stopped in Rio Grande City) David saying that they bought the trailer in May, and had bought the jet skis ‘last year.’
    6. It was just my guess that the company paid for re-lo, I don’t know that this is the case for sure. You probably did read somewhere they they had been in TX for 5 months (lots of irresponsible reporting out there, imo) but TYH said on FB their move weekend was June 18th-20th, so really only just over 3 months.

Still odd to me that they purchased “a whole house” full of furniture in early June. They planned to stay there, for sure. Something went wrong with the employment. And someone was not truthful to their family about the reason for their move sudden move back to Colorado.

I posted a timeline a few days ago… it was, imo, very feasible for all to have happened, depending on a few things we don’t know, such as when they were at Subway, etc…I will post the timeline again, with updates when I get a chance…
