Caylee/Casey Anthony Trial: Judge Calls The Defense Liars And The Prosecution Resurrects The Fumblerooski

Blink Discussing Anthony Case Updates on Dana Pretzer Show LIVE at 9 PM.

Listen Here Live

Orlando, FL-  Judge Perry calls the defense team Liars- Not a good sign. Yesterday, during Chief Judge Perry’s announcement to the jury about the tentative schedule for the remainder of the murder trial against Casey Anthony, defense counsel Cheney Mason objected and asked for a sidebar.

Mason: We don’t have any obligation to put on any evidence at all. and you just told the jurors you expect us to be putting on evidence, and we may or we may not.

Mason went on to request that the Judge instruct the jury that they are not obligated to put on a defense, and claimed Jeff Ashton agreed with him.

Chief Judge Perry: Then Y’all lied to me.

Mason:NO. Chief Judge Perry: “Yes the Hell you did…”  If you don’t put on any   evidence, then I will do that.

Mason: Well, we are, so don’t worry about it.

Chief Judge Perry: ..” I will take I cannot trust one thing your side says, anymore.

Heh?  I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to his honor, as I did not believe a word this defense had to say going into this trial, let alone 3 weeks later. The State, after establishing what they believe is the origin of the disappearing heart residue on the duct tape came from stickers in the drawer with Caylee’s birth announcements, and re-calling Cindy Anthony for a little light impeachment is headed to the finish line tomorrow.

*Insert defense’s motion for mistrial late today*  Denied.

To those of you, and there are many, screaming from the hilltops.. “Is that all you got?”  “OMG, is this girl gonna walk?”  “What about Dr. Hall?”  “How the Hell is Dominick Casey getting out of testifying?” I say chillax.  This prosecution team is simply resurrecting the F U M B L E R O O S K I.

The State of Florida, has ALWAYS known this case is going to verdict on THE LAST WORD from the prosecution, or the rebuttal portion of the trial.

Given the defense’s opening statement, there is no question in my mind, nor should there be in yours, that the ludicrous allegations made on the first day, cannot possibly be brought to bear, and while the prosecutions case in chief was meticulous, it is not the “barn burner” for a reason.

Linda Drane Burdick is going to leave that ball on the field for a spell.  Ashton will surreptitiously pick it up and head to the end zone unchallenged.

After all, that play did originate at the Orange Bowl.

I have one more question – I know the judge has the final say of LWOP or death but does he also have the final say of guilty or not guilty?

JB just asked his expert etymologist when it was that the defense contacted him regarding this case. The answer? Almost a week before Caylee’s body was identified. Hmmm… how did the defense know they needed such an expert unless they knew that body found in the woods was Caylee’s right away?

  3. nana2 says:

I caught that this morning too just like Bill Shaeffer from WFTV did the bug expert on stand today Tim Huntington said the defense team contacted him on 12/11/08 but Caylee’s body hadn’t been actually identified until 12/18/08.. On 12/11/08 they only had a childs body.. How did the defense team know on 12/11/08 that the body found was Caylee’s only KC would know that to tell them..

Tim Huntington (sp) got phone call from LKB ON 12/11/2011!!!
To come down to “look @ bugs”…

Remains were NOT identified UNTIL 12/18/2011…

So “how would the defense KNOW about the need of bug expert
UNLESS Casey TOLD them the remains were Caylee”…

The JB witness just “gave the STATE a big one”….

“Sorta shoot s the defense of George & RK moving the body around”…

    Hope STATE caught it….

I’m so sorry to learn about your mom’s illness.

My husband’s mom had lung cancer. She never smoked a day in her life. She grew up with parents who chain smoked. My husband lost his mom and his brother within 10 months. I now know where my husband’s strength comes from. The dr.’s gave her 4 months upon diagnosis. She gave us another 4 years. I’ll always be grateful for her courageous battle.

My prayers are with you and your family. Seize the day and enjoy yourself. xo

Sorry 12/19 Dr G ME News Conf & announced the remains were Caylee’s…

Either way JB JUST opened the door wide w/ their OWN witness stating LKB calling him to come down, witness said he got call on Thurs & came Sat

Still days BEFORE ME’s notice of ID of remains…

It shows Casey KNEW where Caylee was & the defense “let it out in open court”….

Also the defense seems to be “attacking State’s evidence & shifting their defense off of drowning”…

If I hear one more ‘talking head’ say they can’t wrap their head around a young mother who just offs their child without having had some traumatic and chronic sexual abuse at some point in their childhood, I’m going to have to be carted off to the asylum myself! Casey Anthony is a psychopath. They do not think, feel or act like the rest of us. It’s too bad that this premise cannot be a more integral part of this case for the prosecution, because I’m afraid jurors are not going to be able to wrap their heads around her heinous actions against Caylee either, and this will work against a Murder 1 conviction. She knows right from wrong, she just doesn’t care. She is deeply disturbed no doubt, but not from severe and chronic sexual abuse as a child. She knew what she did and out and out tried to hide it. Plain and simple.

    1. – A brawl broke out among spectators waiting in line for Casey Anthony trial tickets in Florida.

    On another note…
    2. – FBI expert Heather Seubert told the judge that DNA samples from both Lee and George Anthony, Casey’s father, were tested and excluded them as possible fathers of Caylee.

    3. – Seubert, the FBI’s DNA expert, testified that no blood or DNA of any significant amount was found on any of the material she tested.

    4. – A tiny bit of DNA material found on the duct tape was determined to belong to FBI document analysis expert Lorie Gottesman. The tape had been sent to her to see if she could find any evidence of a heart-shaped sticker.

    5. – Another FBI examiner previously testified to having seen the outline of a small heart on the duct tape prosecutors say Casey used to smother her daughter.

The defense pressed Seubert and the other FBI witnesses on Thursday about quality control at their labs. Gottesman testified she had taken great care in the handling of the tape and had no idea how her DNA had contaminated the item.

She also said she had used special visual enhancement tools to examine the tape and found no evidence of a heart-shaped sticker or sticker residue.

Three Orange County Sheriff’s crime scene investigators testified about items found in the woods near Caylee’s remains. A photo of a heart-shaped item on a piece of stained cardboard was introduced into evidence, along with photos of bags of trash gathered from the search.

Crime scene investigator Robin Maynard said the heart-shaped item was found approximately 45 feet from the skull. The prosecution had previously shown photos of many heart-shaped stickers from Casey’s bedroom, none of which resembled the heart-shaped item found on the ground.

Well, now that Jg Perry has brought it up, maybe JB should give head-standing a try. It doesn’t appear as tho any oxygen-rich hemoglobin has traveled that way in a very long time. It’s supposed to be very good for that dopey-headed, out-of-focus feeling.

And BTW, just what is he doing TEXTING in the midst of his own witness’s proffer testimony anyway?? I mean, WTF, is he trying to follow Kathi B’s tweets? Trying to find out what Vasco Dagama Balboa Ponce de Leon just said outside the courthouse?? Well, nothing good, Juanie, nothing good.

  20. mikki says:

    @ Sue

Could not agree with you more! I’ve heard far too many talking heads try to make excuses for Casey’s behavior — as in, she couldn’t have done this UNLESS she suffered some sort of trauma as a child causing her to do it (i.e. her parents made her do it, the dad was abusing her, etc… etc…). One so called Dr. expert went so far as to claim that Cindy knows exactly what it was that caused Caylee to lose it and subsequently murder her child. What??

RE: date the defense first contacted the entomologist — I haven’t heard any commentary on this yet. Does everyone think the State will capitalize on this?

@ Blink – my father is suffering from illness now. So sorry to hear about your mother. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. Unfortunately my father was unable to attend the recent wedding of my nephew. I’m so glad your family is able to be together to celebrate such a joyous occasion – Enjoy the wedding today! Wine-colored attire and all :)

  21. Carol 1 says:

Remember, they also wanted their “team” to attend the autopsy and view the site where Caylee was found. This was while the state was still gathering evidence. They had no other way, than Casey, to know they even needed the info.

  22. Riverpearl says:

    Blink~

I mis-wrote, got a head of myself … would this not “disprove” defense claim of “Casey did not know where Caylee’s body was because her father & RK had possession of Caylee’s remains” …?”

“How could defense be so ready to call person/s on the 11th if Casey did not know location of Caylee ?”

On another note, JP called JB out for not having witness disclose “his opinion he gave JB about decomp color/stain”. I feel JP has given JB wide latitude in questioning that witness. JA is again ready to do “battle”.

Blink, I will see what I can find on Flordia law during break -but- can the defense claim “they just assumed the remains were Caylee’s ?”

    Thanks :)

  25. NaNa says:

All this talk about stains on the trunk liner from direct exposure to a body. Well, Caylee’s body was in double trash bags as well as a canvas bag with a plastic type lining. So obviously those fluids would not come in direct contact with the carpeting. Only the fluids that leaked out of the bag.

And that trunk was cleaned multiple times. At least once by Casey, and again by Cindy. The trunk was opened repeatedly, as was the car…so people looking for all these bugs would not find them if the car was opened and cleaned multiple times. The source of food was long gone.

  29. A Texas Grandfather says:

I find it interesting that Dr. Huntington brought with his testimony
the picture of the pig decomposing in the trunk. Foresensic scientists often use a pig as a test subject for decomposition according to the literature.

We have wild pigs in the Texas Hill Country. Occasionally one will get killed crossing a highway. The only thing that will feed on the body is magots. It will stay bloated for as long as four weeks. The pig hide is so tough, the vultures cannot break through. Other carnivours will not touch the pig for the same reason. It is usually almost in a mumified state before any vultures and other animals get to feed on it. Most of the soft tissue has become mush, but the sinues are still intact and the vultures will feed on that.

The title of this thread is about a football play. What is the nickname for a football. It is “pigskin” because it is tough and the first footballs were made from actual pig skin.

    BS-

Anyone that has had a family member that has a habit of chewing tobacco KNOWS that flies are not attracted to this spit-
My dear GGrandpa- had the disgusting habit of keeping a spit can next to his bed in the kitchen in the yard-
Flies were never swarming around those cans- no matter the weather- although he never left them for 31 days in the trunk of a car- or for twelve days in a garbage bag-

Think of spitoons- used for multiple people to “spit” flies and maggots would be everywhere near those cans and the smell would be overwhelming-

And as for the bologna- anyone knows that flies leave this type of processed meat alone- it does not decompose it just dries out- they may light on but they dont seek it out JMO

BTW the early colonizing insects the blowflies not being in the trunk- is because Casey cleaned it and the trunk was opened a number of times BB testified to it- TL testified to it- George and Cindy and LE testified to it-

    Thats all JMO-

Thanks Blink for letting me get this off my mind- sorry for the interruption.

Go back and watch local news coverage – while it wasn’t officialy Caylee for another few days, it was immediately referred to as Caylee. Of course the DT would start contact experts at the time of discovery.

  36. Riverpearl says:

“JA is now opening trash evidence … he is none to happy w/bug man & ‘chew spit’ … & it not being any where in cans & not smelling like decomp”.

TGF and all- You know what I find interesting?

That this expert Dr. Huntington, right? He was hired on Dec 11 by the defense-

Dec 11 THE day that remains were found-

The day that Casey broke down in the jail meeting with Baez and had to be sedated-

Dec 11th it was NOT conclusively known that the remains would prove to be little Caylee-

It was not conclusively known that there would be ANY bug evidence at all near or on those remains-

Yet The defense hires a bug expert that day?

    —-

Dr. Huntington is doing his best- but Jeff Ashton is totally dispelling every expert opinion he has rendered in this case/testimony.

My goodness, even going so far as to point out that in his depo he completely agreed with Dr. Haskells findings

The chloroform questions were brilliant- the same can be said for the bringing out the pop cans “full” of tobacco spit-

Someday Dr. Huntington will make for a great expert witness- but not yet, not in this case- he should be proud of his effort, but should defer to his teacher, Dr. Haskell

Ps I could NOT believe that Casey laughed at the pig wrapped in a blanket pun—Yikes

Watching the televised Casey Marie Anthony trial on June 17, 2011 at 2:40 p.m. ET and what smooth technique the prosecutor used to get the DT Witness under oath and on record to reconfirm he was hired on December 11, 2008 asking a couple of preliminary questions prior to utilizing the expert witness experiment exhibits he had done in September 2010. I have always had a great respect for the judicial system in central Florida except now I have an admiration for the folks.

Knowing the Orange-Osceola Counties Medical Examiner Dr. G did not make an official identity report of Caylee Marie Anthony until December 19, 2008. What’s Next?

  45. New says:

Tim Hunttington thinks he will received fame and foutune from his opposing testitomy but I am sure he will proven to be one the fools in Caseys lists of fools. Everyone she touches is tainted by her deed. I wonder how many green backs touched his palm for this. At one time I had so much respect for Dr Lee and Baden until their greed took over their ethics.

He did not follow the law which to me proves he is a liar. He has a site, teaches biology at Nebraska college. Studied under Haskel. Only three articles written by him two other referencing Haskel. Haskels guide to decomposition. He also tried to discredit Dr. Vass. For a moment I felt he was going to tell the truth when being question by Mr. Ashton about his deposition. But no go. He forgets Karma. He betrayed his ethiics.

Also think he needs new glasses when he can see salamimi thats not there.

He didn’t consider a closed containment for the body in his outlandish demo pictures of the decomposing pig. Nothing like going to extremes to shock a jury. The carpet stain was a result of direct contact. He didn’t even entertain the thought that Casey trunk went through vacumming and steam cleaning. As I am sure it did. Even as lazy as Casey is. And did JB know he needed a bug man on 12,11, 2008. Body wasn’t even identified and Police always begin to work a crime scene when a body is found and not identified.

I think they should investigate his phone records and email to really find out when JB called him. I think this wittness deserves impeachment.

I did not get to see the entire cross examination. Does anyone remember that the manager of the storage lot testified to a large number of flies escaping the trunk when he opened it. Mr. Ashton should have used that testimony to refute a portion of Dr. Huntington’s testimony about no or very few flies during his examination.

DeLand man arrested for failure to report dead body

Hendrix said he found the man’s body at around 4 p.m. on Monday, when he went to the upstairs of the house to check on something. He said he has known the man for years, but hadn’t seen him for some time until a few weeks ago, when he took him in because he was down on his luck and needed help. Instead of reporting the death, Hendrix went outside and mowed his lawn. At some point, Hendrix was so overwhelmed by the stench that he poured bleach on the body to cover the smell. About eight hours after finding his friend’s body, Hendrix finally reported it.

But it was to his girlfriend and not to authorities, as required by law. The girlfriend then immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office at 12:23 a.m. Tuesday morning. Because of the chemicals that Hendrix poured on the body, the Volusia County Hazmat team responded to assist with the case. Sheriff’s investigator A.J. Pagliari arrested Hendrix for failing to report the death, a misdemeanor offense.

Court officials are trying to avoid another fight and the overnight camp outs by changing the rules for tickets.
People wanting tickets must line up at 4:00pm the day before with their identification. The names of the first 50 in line will be written down for the next day’s trial. Those wanting to get into Monday’s trial need to be in line at 1:00pm Saturday. Deputies will be on hand to keep things in order.

ATG – Yes, I do remember the guy at the tow place mentioning the flies leaving the car. But I guess Jeff Ashton would have also picked up on that and it will maybe be used in closing. I haven’t missed a second of the Trial, have found it fascinating. Luckily, being in the UK, it doesn’t start until 2pm so as I am up at 6am and never go to bed before midnight, plenty of time to do my chores and I just take the laptop from room to room when needs must. After Mr Ashton’s initial cross of Dr Timothy Huntington, I was concerned that the Jury might construe his questioning as bullying but when the good doctor continued to try to answer only that which was beneficial to the defense I was glad Mr Ashton floored him. Previous experts when asked a specific question appertaining to their expertise answered truthfully regardless and I really feel this witness brought the term ‘expert’ into disrepute.
