Interesting, I read here that someone brought up the Dale Hill trial this morning, he was found “Not Guilty” as well. Apparently they (Hill and Anthony) shared a defense witness.

The more I hear from this alternate juror, the more and more I am convinced that this jury did NOT heed Judge Perry’s admonitions about discussing the case amongst themselves. Isn’t there something that Judge Perry could do about this – or is it just too late?

I’m from Galveston Texas & was called to jury duty on the Baby Grace, aka Riley Sawyers case…

    —————–

Riley Sawyers is another tragic case that still haunts me.

I cried for days after reading about that poor little girl’s ordeal and I still hear her confused and pleading little cries to her “mother” while she beat her to death. Actually, many of the smaller details of the Sawyers case has similar parallels to the Anthony case in regard to what the step-father initially told police. He also attempted suicide afterwards and lied to cover for his wife.

Is this what the human condition has been reduced to? What have we let ourselves become when we can’t even do right by our own children?

BOCA RATON, Fla. — State Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton, said Wednesday he’s drafted a proposed law to make it a felony for a parent or legal guardian to fail to report a missing child in a timely manner, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Hager dubbed the proposal Caylee’s Law, after Caylee Anthony, whose mother was acquitted of murder charges on Tuesday.

As far as Judge Perry no comment.. Google him..

The only attorneys to go on national TV & to grant media interviews on this case over the 3 yr period have been the defense attorneys & the attorneys for George, Cindy & Lee (there have been several).. The prosecutors office never made any TV appearances nor granted any media interviews during the course of the 3 yrs this case has been in progress.. George & Cindy Anthony also did their best to keep this in the news with many, many, many interviews..

This alternate juror who is seeking out the media continues to say things that absolutely make me believe that they in fact did NOT heed Honorable Judge Belvin Perry’s admonissions! This jury must have discussed the case before going into deliberations. If that can be proven, what if anything could be done at this point, Blink? I’ve been following your site for quite some time and this is my first time posting…I’m just outraged and heartbroken that our little Caylee was failed yet again!
    ——————————————————-
This crime occurred three years ago in June 2008. The jurors had as much access to the media coverage of the crime as we did. I cannot believe the jurors had an open mind as this was a “high profile” case created by the media when the case first broke. They formed opinions way back then as we did and took those opinions with them when they chose to become jurors. I think the prosecution’s evidence against Casey was overwhelming and the defense managed to twist the case in every way possible including defamming GA’s character by accusing him (in no less than graphic terms) of molesting his daughter. The jurors somehow bought into the farcical attempt by the defense to point fingers at the Anthony family when I believe in their hearts they knew their client was guilty as H and of course they didn’t want her to testify. And now at least one juror wants to make $$$$$ from this heinous crime and there will be more to come. Really, just really, how does duct tape appear on a tiny skull from an accident!! The jury did not connect the dots. Sorry, I am totally PO’d.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The first of the 12 jurors who acquitted Casey Anthony of first-degree murder is speaking out.

Jennifer Ford, or juror No. 3, says the jurors were “sick to their stomachs” after voting to not convict Anthony in connection with the death of her daughter.

Ford, a 32-year-old nursing student, told ABC News in an exclusive interview that she didn’t think there was enough evidence to convict Anthony.

“I did not say she was innocent,” Ford told ABC.

Ford said it was difficult to determine a punishment without proof of the crime.

“Everyone wonders why we didn’t speak to the media right away,” she said. “It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren’t ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial.”

Ford is single, has no children and is the youngest of five siblings. She said during jury selection she didn’t know about the case until recently.

Hours after the verdict, an alternate juror who did not participate in deliberations spoke with the media.

This trial has lessons for everyone. Most especially the court. Judge Perry IMO made two colossal mistakes. First he took the jurors from another county and sequestered them for the entire trial. Second he pushed the jury selection so hard that attorneys could not spend the time to properly do their work.

It is obvious that despite repeated admonitions to not discuss the case prior to gettting all the evidence, it apparently happened. Did the court have an officer monitoring all the gatherings of the jury for dining and recreation? IDK.

The takeaway for the court should be not to move out of the area or jurisdiction for any reason until all efforts to get a jury are exhausted. How could a jury of peers be selected from an area eighty miles away?

Some have expressed that this group of people came from a very conservative background and could not leave that circumscribed thinking. I don’t think the tag of conservative fits that behavior.

This jury IMO was overwhelmed by all the science presented by the prosecution. There were several places during the trial that truth should have resonated with each juror.

One in particular was the statement made by Dr. G. the medical examinor regarding the fact that in all her years of experience, there were zero cases where a drowning occured that 911 was not immediately contacted for emergency help except for this one. This told her that the drowning story was a lie.

I live in a heavily Spanish-speaking area, and I’d never heard the name Zenaida, until it was mentioned in relation to this case.

Is that a common first name there?

Most people, if they had to come up with a random name, it’d be something like John Smith, or Jessica Brown, or Maria Mendoza or something altogether common. I’ve always thought it a bit too much of a stretch that she would have grabbed such an oddball (to me) name out of thin air.

I’m really curious if she knew someone with that first name at some point. It’s not really relevant – but I’m curious. Then again, I suppose it might become relevant, now.

(And yes, I looked on namestatistics.com and howmanyofme.com… both the first name and the name combo are shown as much more rare then my name, which is on the fairly uncommon side.)

If “someone” in some way tried to get me to cast my verdict in a certain direction, I could surely stand to profit even more by telling THAT story.

Where the hell do they think the baby was when not w/casey for 31 days? Did they believe there really was a squirrel plastered to the car? What abut the fight on the 15th as partial motive? So much evidence, and only an iota was presented.

Read an article today where one of the jurors said the veridict they reached made her sick to her stomach (and several other jurors). She says she didnt say Casey was innocent, only that she couldnt determine the Murder 1 charge because she couldnt determine how Caylee died.

Made me sick to my stomach to hear that verdict and I still havent gotten over it. Lets me know the state of the world we live in. But one thing I do know, I know WHO is in control and I have complete trust in HIM. No matter what the circumstances of this life may look like to me. Justice is always delivered, just not by me.

I invested three years of my life in this case and to be honest, it’s taken such a toll…I have to get back to what matters, God (the Gospel), Family, and my life.

  42. She probably got away with murder; however, if you and I were on the jury – what would you need to know, in order to convict someone of First Degree Murder? Two things:

    1. How did Caylee die?
    2. Who killed her?

If you give jurors those two things – how Caylee died and that Casey was the one who killed her, they would have convicted. You would have, and so would I.

    The prosecution did neither.

Did the prosecution prove to you how Caylee died? Or did they leave room for you to wonder about it? Was it pre-meditated? Was it an accidental death from too much chloroform? Was it an accidental drowning? Which one was it? Do you have any doubt over how Caylee died? It is reasonable doubt.

There was no DNA on the duct tape and no chloroform to be found. I know the exact moment that the prosecution lost: when Ashton said that he could only hope that Casey used the chloroform first before she bound her with the duct tape. Hope?!?! As in, you mean you don’t really know? That was game, set, and match. And what an idiotic thing to say. You cannot convict someone for a crime that carries a life sentence on hope and wishful thinking, and I think that the jury ultimately realized that.

This was a poorly prosecuted case, and if there is any blame to be had here, it rests with the prosecution and not the jurors.

Now I feel like I am the one who has been made of fool of. I’m embarrassed, sad and disgusted. I too live every day with a family who thinks that enabling is loving, and I have never understood it. I want Cindy to open her eyes and see what her enabling has done to her family, to her children. Their enabling cost them, and the world the beautiful Caylee. When will it end? Do they not see how their actions led to the demise of this innocent child. I for one will love my daughter no matter what, but I will not defend her negitive behavior. I will support her good decisions, and stand by her when she makes mistakes, but I will not defend nor enable her to continue those mistakes. As a troubled teenager myself, the best thing my parents did for me and my daughter is stand up to me and say no more. They made me accountable for my actions and because of that, I had no choice but to change my life, for the sake of my daughter. If it is true that Cindy reads here, or to any other parent that doesn’t know the difference, enabling is not love! Love is tough, and as my parents always told me doing te right thing is hard. God Bless Caylee and thank God that she didn’t have to witness this joke of a verdict.
