    @Sharma — I agree that the state dropped the ball. It happened so freakin’ fast my head was spinning. Rest? What? What the hell just happened? There was so much more. WE have a complete picture. I don’t think the jury did.

  2. Cindyc says:

    When the jurors look at their children and grandchild image them laying in a decomposing swamp, rotting away, murdered by their mother. May you seek justice in your future lives and may you never find any. Karma will follow you, every time something bad happens to you rather it be thru criminal activity, the diagnosis of a dreaded disease the sudden pain of a lost loved one may your pain be intesified 10 times more. Your one of the many reasons children are not safe here in America. We have been given so many rights till people have forgotten whats right. With great power comes great responsabilites and you all have failed.

    The more these jurors talk the more they give me the impression that something was not right with the deliberations. Why is this juror Ms Ford in that WFTV article indicating they were looking at the penalty for the crime when they hadn’t finished the guilt phase yet..

  4. Joan says:

    Marcia Clark just made a point that I though of as well…a controversial decision would be much more lucrative to a juror than an expected verdict.

    We already have one juror shopping his story for five figures…

    Why is there not a law on the books that jurors cannot profit in any manner from their service?

    Seems like a no-brainer to me, or am I way off base….still can’t wrap my head around this.

    No wonder. Who wants to be sick for more than 10 hours?

    They could have had her on 2nd degree…ANYTHING!!! But not guilty? I will never understand their reasoning. I’m not buying what they’re selling and I’m sure as H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS ain’t gonna be buying anything that pays out for their comments. Caylee doesn’t deserve to be sold out again and again.

    I hope they surf the net and read the blogs and the evidence that wasn’t included and see that all they did was let a psychopathic killer free….to do it again!

    She probably got away with murder; however, if you and I were on the jury – what would you need to know, in order to convict someone of First Degree Murder? Two things:

    1. How did Caylee die?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I keep coming back to the Scott Peterson case no manner or cause of death to his wife & child, badly decomposed bodies, found in the ocean Peterson found guilty.. Its quite common to have no manner or cause of death because most homicide victims are badly decomposed by design..
    Juror #3 now coming out and making the claim that she never said Casey was innocent and she’s sick about this … BS.
    These jurors are getting back home and realizing that their stupidity and rush to nonjudgement is NOT going to be a popular opinion with friends, family, and everyone they ever meet.
    CYA … that’s all.
    Expect to see all/most of the jurors (who as a group refused to speak to the media at first) will now be making the rounds to all the shows for $$.
    There was no money to be made if they had spoken to the media as a group that day after the verdict was read – in the media room they had set up for them to speak.
    Media will pay them bigger bucks now.
    And another, and another, and another – who isn’t making money off the death of an innocent child?
    With apologies for coming back late to the party Blink…
    Please don’t think you’ve failed anyone. It’s not who wins the battle, it’s who wins the war. This battle loss is devastating for sure. But the war, the one you and the rest of the BOCers continue to fight for the well-being of many other missing and endangered individuals, continues to be fought.
    Consider the Harrington’s. The Horman’s. The Ocasio’s. The Kesse’s. The families of Chris George and Christine Sheddy and how many others.
    We continue to fight. Battles will be lost. But ultimately, new laws may be written. Victims will have a voice. And families will have the opportunity to heal.
    Step back from the frontline General Blinkie. Rally your troops. And re-arm for the next battle. I’m certain it’s just over the next hill.
    Juror Ms Ford is getting paid for her TV appearance/interview tonight by ABC.. If that company sounds familiar its the same one that paid Cindy & George & took them to Disney in Orlando also where they are taking Ms Ford’s family from what is being said on TV..
  21. Dee says:
    Okay, somebody please tell me if I’m missing something here.
    A child’s corpse is found double-bagged in a swamp with duct tape around the mouth and nose and not one of these jurors could believe beyond a reasonable doubt that this child was murdered? They said they couldn’t even get to considering whether Casey was guilty until they could know how Caylee died. What other kind of death could this have been?
    They found it easier to believe that George, fearing Cindy’s anger at Casey for letting Caylee drown, would take the body of the person he loved most in the world and throw it into a swamp? They believed that? Oh and he put the duct tape on her dead face because…??? They had no problem with any of that.
    I don’t think these jurors understood the concept of reasonable doubt. They forgot that their doubt has to be REASONABLE! There is absolutely NO DOUBT that Caylee was killed. No one…NO ONE would subject the corpse of a beloved accident victim to a swamp filled with trash, insects and wild animals.
    To say that they didn’t know how Caylee died is to lie. They are liars just like Casey. How could this have happened. Did they fall under her spell? Were the majority of them weak-minded and followers of a strong foreman who maybe had the hots for Casey? Were they sick of being there and just wanting to leave ASAP? Did they like Baez and dislike Jeff and Linda?
    The alternate said he didn’t believe George. So, neither did I half the time but there was absolutely NO EVIDENCE that he disposed of Caylee. He was obviously mad as hell at Baez for what he said about him in opening arguments and was refusing to cooperate with him on the stand. To go from there to believing he threw Caylee in the swamp was a huge leap. They had no trouble making that leap but couldn’t quite believe that a dead baby in a swamp with duct tape could have been murdered. Bloody effing fools…I’d like to strangle every one of them for the crime they committed yesterday.
  22. josie says:
    “There’s Nothing Sexy about a Drowning!” When Baez said that I couln’t hear anything afterword.That must have been the suberb closing statement that cinched it for the Jury and anyone else that sides with the outcome. God help us. BLINK, Please remember that I have appreciated your knowlege of the law through out all of this. Today I think we all feel victimized by this. Can the judge refuse to accept this verdict and ask for an explaination? Perversion of the AMERICAN JUSTICE System? The jury saying they didn’t want to convict her of 1st degree MURDER is nonsense. They had other avenues to go down. Also, they do not have the right to make some sort of protest because they don’t like the Death Penalty. That is not up to them. More Smoke and Mirrors. If ICA makes money off her notetority it will be short lived. People in her circle will be there for the $$$ and she will never be able to trust anyone. She isn’t as smart as she thinks she is.   33. josie says:
    BLINK ON Scared Monkeys Live. NOW
  34. Well quite, B. But when you have a case based entirely on circumstantial evidence, you are going to have a hard time clearing that legal hurdle of beyond reasonable doubt in the minds of jurors without offering a clear explanation of how the homicide happened and why. In fact, you had a significant amount of circumstantial evidence entered into testimony that Casey Anthony was a doting mother. And that testimony came from prosecution witnesses. I come back to Ashton’s closing argument: you cannot build a first degree murder case on “hope” and wishful thinking. I think that a lot of parents have a hard time believing that anyone would kill her own daughter just because she wanted to party.
    Make a note of the sponsors paying for ADs onthese shows that are courting all the jurors to be on their shows.
    Whoever these sponsors are – BOYCOTT THEM and be sure to write/email/phone call these companies and TELL THEM that you and your family will NOT watch any shows that feature these jurors (or Casey Anthony) and that you will NOT purchase any of their products.
    These shows are on TV only b/c they have sponsors.
    Note who these sponsors are – and then let them know you will not spend your hard earned money on their products if they continue to place advertising dollars into shows featuring these jurors.
  37. zinnia says:
    Oh Ragdoll, thank you so very much for the kind words and for accepting my most likely unpopular words. I really, really appreciate that!
    I don’t believe that any of the amazing prosecutors have anything whatsoever to be ashamed of as far as it goes for seeking justice for Caylee. I watched the Today show interview of Mr. Ashton and the one single most important impact it had on me was that it was far from the most disappointing results in his 30+ career. I cannot and do not want to imagine what he and his fellow prosecutors have had to go through and hear in terms of victims advocacy.
    This tragic case was sensationalized for obvious reasons. I for one will take this opportunity to reflect on the many, many who have not received this much attention and have not received any justice.
    For those in the media raising the issue about Ms. Anthony perhaps getting a payday out of all this, I wish that those talking heads would take a moment to look themselves in the mirror and reflect on how much they have profited off of this tragic case.
    Peace and Love to all here!
  38. Solange says:
    Thank you kindly TGF for your thoughts. Wish I could pick your brains as I am fascinated that you have been so involved in philosophy/religious issues and how they juxtapose with our legal system and way of life.
    Am still trying hard not to take out my anger on people before I know more facts. I want to blame and not hold onto what I feel was a travesty of justice and yet intellectually I felt this coming. Heard Ashton say at one point the PT had taken the DP off the table and put it back in. I am so torn. If I had not heard anything about this case, got placed on the jury, was sequestered and cut off from everything I truly was hearing 18/7, and charged with the rules, I don’t know really how I would have perceived all of this. I feel certain b/c of who I am my BS detector would have picked up on all 3 Ant’s lying, perjuring and their dysfunction.
    In a quest to understand more I’ve been rereading a lot of Blink’s old threads on this case. Much to my surprise and impression I came across a poster here, who, unfamiliar with this case began to read as the trial began. While everyone else was busy posting confidently this woman saw something I think, as a Blinkette, should be paid attention to. While I can’t link it, for any interested, the thread is: Casey Ant on Trial, Caylee’s voice heard,finally opening arguments. The poster is Dee, no. 13, on May 24@ 5:17 PM. Gives me pause and makes me wonder if this is some of how the jurors could have perceived this?
    At the risk of being vilified, I would like to say that the cry of jury tampering so early on-a few hours after the verdict, looks to me like a highly defensive gesture. Without some evidence presented, it imo, appears irresponsible. I was, last fall, a witness for the prosecution in a federal trial that we lost. A day after the verdict one or two of our people, including our lead attorney cried: jury tampering. This imo, got in the way of critically examining facts and learning what went wrong if anything. Six months later after much reflection and grief, lost membership, cred, etc…..it became clear how our team got outlawyered, dropped a ball or two, got too overly confident, etc… JMO
    Just caught first part of Ashton’s interview with Drew and see much more clearly reasonable doubt. Drew picked right up on it and magnified it. I also see ego and please please tell me anyone to not start the blame game…………..ugh. Maybe the prosecutors get so wrapped up in their pov and rightness that they miss the forest for the trees. I think Nana2 used this term earlier. I feel sick.
    I know Ashton et al have good good fighting hearts and spirits and are on the right side, as well as being so brilliant . However in hearing this now, I think he overshot, made major assumptions and took a huge gamble. No matter, it is Anthonys’ fault. They all created their monstrous sick selves..brought this on themselves. I am so tired of hearing how much pain and unnecessary suffering that has been heaped upon them. BS! Self inflicted injuries imo.
    I know, and this is for you KC: I know, I feel it in my bones, w/every cell in my being that YOU did this, without a doubt. In spite of your shameless and oh so obvious family’s help-the obscene mocking in our face perjuries, how they so cheaply whored their souls for you, etc….The stench of who you are will follow you all the days of your life, even if you are ultimately forgiven. Something inside you is rotten and rotting in the depths of you and if you haven’t by now gotten a glimpse of who you are and what you’ve done, not only to your baby girl, but to all victims, how you’ve impacted our legal system for good, I fear you are utterly hopeless. True for the family too…..the world is more dangerous, more terrifying b/c of all of you. Most people when they get badly ‘burned’ seek help and self correction, getting right with God. Have any of you Anthonys’ done anything besides being the big victim????
    OMG, Ashton just totally revealed who Lee Anthony is-says how he twisted what was initially said in his depo. and more. Was acting on the stand; the tears on the stand were fake and in direct opposition to his behavior in the depo re: KC. The devil’s immediate family just gets bigger and bolder. Am fed up.
  50. A Texas Grandfather says:
    Solange
    I will try to explain in a short form the need to have each of us learn to understand the things that are important in our world. The first is love for others and respect for what they do. This does not mean to accept evil deeds by those who willfully choose to do them.
    We have three general areas that are important in GOD’s eyes and one that is left up to man to perfect. The one that belongs to man is our system of laws and personal behavior. If you have studied religion at all and have read carefully the story of Jesus in the New Testiment and other works, you will find that the appostles were allowed to determine much of their own behavior. Each of us is given free will. With that free will comes responsibility to learn to understand ourselves and others that we interact with. Not an easy job.
    We have the ten commandments as a general guide. However, other than factual statements there was nothing to expand man’s understanding of just how all of them were to be accomplished. For four thousand years man has struggled to find the answers. The founding fathers of our county studied and struggled for forty years to provide the legal guides for those of our country. They IMO did a very good job, but it was not perfection. We are still working on getting it right.
    Love and understanding of others is one of the primay things that all must learn to do. I read and post to this site because Blink has made it a place to exchange opinions and understanding in a way that almost no others do. There is difference of opinion here, but we all care about each other and respect one another. It is an opportunity to learn for everyone.
    I hope this gives you something that is helpful.
