Amanda is a very calculated, highly manipulative, stone cold, individual.
She and her Italian bozo boyfriend were *kissing* outside the murder house the next morning, in plain view of the cameras. Amanda looked extremely relaxed and happy. Meredithe’s body was inside the house, still warm. Please, do tell me, how is that possible ? She has been coached extremely well by her family’s US attorney on what to say, how to dress, and, ultimately, will walk free back to the USA, and all will be well.

Blink, please explain this behavior? Your website has been biased to her being not guilty, but she surely isn’t innocent. She may be educated but there is some definite cause for alarm.

Respectfully, I disagree with your assessment in a few areas.

    1. Meredith was killed between 10:15 and 11PM, she was not warm, and an image of her foot sticking out from the duvet shows she was likely in full rigor, so deceased at least 12 hours. One trained to tell when blood evidence at the scene has begun to decompose (separate) as well, supports that also.

    2. Amanda Knox was clearly in shock, and I see Rafaella kissing her as his way of comforting his week old girlfriend, who by the way, in her mind, believed the intruder was there (at this point) when she went to shower and even if he was not, in her mind, she must have deduced that had she also been there, she may have had the same fate.

    3. Cunning? If she was so cunning why would she participate in a motive-less crime, agree to 50 hours of interrogation without asking for an attorney, stay in the country against the advice of her family, when her other flatmats hired lawyers and went to the UK? There is not a single shred of evidence that puts Amanda or Rafaella in Meredith’s bedroom at the crime scene, the two people the prosecutors theory says were the impetus for the murder, and Guede was the pawn, lol. It is just impossible to think a scene with that much blood, fingerprints, and footprints, not to mention feces of the man convicted of this murder could be devoid of any trace to Solleccito or Knox.

I have come to realize that if I cover a case, albeit, at the very end like this one, folks expect me to do my homework, and to give an opinion, hopefully looking at all possibilities. Meredith Kercher was a brutally murdered young woman with a promising future, cut down by a smash and grab loser running in a circle he did not belong and could not maintain without detection. Many people are not aware of this, but he was also believed to be a CI, and had just had a burglary case dismissed as a result.

Lastly, Mignini, graduate of the Nifong school of prosecution, should be sanctioned and removed from his position yesterday. I also think they should check to see if he has a coffin in his basement he sleeps in at night.

edward,i watched the tv movie ,although i researched for discrepancies,i was probably influenced. i dont know all the facts, but i was referring to her promiscuity, if true,(my friend had a fit ,that in the movie she tells her “little” sis ,this is hook up central, and her, reported 7 partners,in two months ,if true ,there was reported tension between her and meredith over this.now did they share a bedroom?i have read amanda saying they slept in the same room, but the police reports seems, idk ,to indicate they had seperate bedrooms, and was the broken window visible from the street,it didnt seem to be to me.if she had been in a headstand, that would different than cartwheels to me,shock or not ,this is a dead murdered friend, when does that sink in with her. violent comics? true? her picture of her with a gun(is that seattle curt cobain cool? )belies her hippytrippy goodgirl.and smoking hash would not make one not remember the night events, blitzed drunk would ,her early arrest/court picts could possibly look like partying/drugs(college kids do party),imo, not so fresh faced,as later pics ,as happens when the partying/drugs usage wears off.none of this makes her guilty of the crime .i had a hard wrapping my head around her cutting meredith, and laughed at unbelievablity, when it was later revealed that rudy had broken into an apartment, with rock/brick and was found with a 16 inch knife, and then with his hand prints and dna all over the room and is doing 16 years, meanwhile knox/soll. and were doing 26 years, the kercher’s need to direct their attention to making sure rudy doesnt get out and do this again.they would have had to of proved way more malice or derangement of knox /soll for me to believe it.all in all ,doing cartwheels, having a cavalier or worldly disposition to a roommate being murdered, instead of sobbing with the other girls, seems to be the, play with fire get burned ,parable at play here.

There was a clip at one time of Rudy Guede on drugs….it was unbelievable at least for a person that has never witnessed this type of thing. He was totally out of his mind. It was easy to see how a person this drugged out could do anything. All of this my opinion based on that clip. The clip was shown right after all of the investigation was providing leads. Also, he tried to flee. I agree Amanda’s behavior was odd, but Rudy’s was incriminating.

    Hi, Blink and Blinksters!

I am somewhat new to the details of this case …but having heard many references to the “Massei report” ..I actualkly found it online (in translation into English) .and didn’t know what folks thought of it…

My impression is that the fact that Meredith had the key for the apartment below the one that she and Amanda and the other Italian girls lived in somehow figures into what really happened here. Giacomo Silenzi (Meredith’s boyfired) and his room mates all played basketball in a near-by court and Rudy Guede would join and play with them. Rudy would also come over to Giacomo’s apartment for get-togethers and parties ..and Rudy knew both Meredith and Amanda and allegedly had a crush on Amanda. Giacomo and his room-mates were away for the holiday over Oct. 31-Nov.2), and had left the key to their apratment with Meredith so that she could go in and water their marijuana plants ….

I think that Rudy knew about the key and wanted to get to the marijuana ….Rudy had a history of breaking and entering and stealing – as well as using knives during these break-ins. He was never appropriately arrested and prosecuted for these crimes …

While I am still puzzled by some of the inconcsistencies in both Amanda and Raffaele’s stories …the bottom line is that if their DNA was not in that room..then case closed. There is no way for them to have selectively cleaned up their DNA and still leave Rudy’s DNA.

And – knowing of Mignini’s dirty tricks from other cases …anything that that man touches is tainted. I have no doubt that Rudy’s original sentence (I believe 30 years) was reduced to 16 just so that he could implicate Amanda and Raffaele to “prove” Mignini’s theory.

Blink – what are your thoughts about the Massei Report??

    thanks!

I think “stone-cold, calculated, manipulative” are being confused and substituted for what might actually be really, really immature and inappropriate (but not diabolical) behavior. Those of us with teen-aged daughters might be seeing this differently – especially with a new romantic relationship in earliest phases. Girls (teens) or young adults behave irrationally and erratically at best. YMMV or MOO

  16. Esther says:

Blink, I apologize for my rudeness, however I wish readers here would read about the case in the truejustice.org site. Everything is there. Meredith had no defensive wounds, hence more than one attacker. Curt Knox inviting the Sollecito family to Seattle is a huge red flag…..must get their stories straight before she writes her book. To quote Mark Twain “If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything”. Hopefully the Court of Cassation will overturn this ridiculous appeal verdict. I totally agree with Bill (October 9, 6:52 AM).

Esther, I appreciate the apology, but I have to tell you, your counter argument is very weak, and un-researched. For starters, the full autopsy has never been released, in which case, you only know what you have been told by a subjective source, and is no way to form a conclusion.

Mignini has no shot, there are no technical or procedural errors in this appellate case to overturn a pebble.

I find it outrageous you stand in defense of the ONE PERSON there is significant PHYSICAL AND DIRECT evidence linking him to Meredith’s murder.

  17. Al says:

@ Blink, regarding Ms Knox, my main suspicion about her innocence was her actions and distrust of her PR machine. However I do believe that you certainly dig deeper and don’t put total trust in ‘documentaries’ that are often one sided and bought about by deep pockets. You proved this to me when your research contradicted the prevailing public opinion created by said ‘deep pockets’. I will read further on truejustice and see what further into they have.

I agree about the prosecutor over there and I am puzzled why Rudy received the same sentence as AK and RS when the vast majority of valid evidence belonged to him. On those who say it’s anti-American, I do not think so. RS is after all from a prominent Italian family who appear to have shown complete class through out this ordeal which is more than I can say for the American press and Knox supporters on a few occasions. I submit that if you’re trying to rescue someone from a bad situation in a foreign country it’s not advisable to insult that countries judicial system in public.

Guede in fact, got his sentence reduced to 16 years, only AFTER he agreed to point the finger at Sollecito and Knox. His first words when asked if Amanda was involved, were that she had nothing to do with it, and held fast to that until after he was sentenced, and promised a fat reduction to accuse the other two.

I agree with you that bad-mouthing the legal system of the country an accused you believe is innocent is not prudent, and I think Curt Knox did a masterful job in his interviews in the days leading up to the acquittal.

That said, Mignini is a draconian fossil and needs an XBOX as a retirement gift.

Still O/T, and rambling a little, I’ve been wondering if Jeremy is participating more with LE than apparent . . . maybe “in on” the “parents are no longer cooperating” scenario. Also thought the televised reenactments of entries through the window were at least in part staged for Deborah’s benefit. Unraveling now that they have the grocery store surveillance . . . what time did Jeremy go to work?

Respectfully; if it were that simple! What do you make of the hallway the bath and the lamp in Merediths room? What you said reminds me of someone who said: “if it doesn’t fit you must acquit!”
an example: a lot of people think the WM3 are guiltly despite the fact that there was no DNA linking them to the crime scene. Is it not true that it is a lot easier to think about their guiltiness solely basing on circumstantial evidences because of the plea deal where they have to say that they are guilty?
The truth is there are a lot of circumstantial evidences in AK case and i invite you friendly to read the Massei report to estimate by yourself that it is not that easy where no DNA no incrimination. Fact is a lot controversials Statements were made by ms AK and her lovely BF RS. Why did they have to lie? Where a lie then a crime????

  21. Löni says:

Mr P Lumumba has been incarcerated and interrogated aswell by the Italian Police as AK and RS were. He stood under the same pressure than the other two and even more so because a wittness told Police that he saw a black man leaving Merediths House that night. Mr Lumumba didn’t change his storie 3 times, he didn’t incriminate a innocent person.

  22. Bill says:

OK Blink, whatever. Explain to me why she implicated an innocent man and let him stay in jail for 2 weeks. This she was still found guilty of at the appeals trial. This is not the behavior of an innocent, sweet girl, it’s someone trying to save their ass. It’s very damning and she is being sued by this very same guy. She wasn’t interrogated for 56 hours either, that’s pure fantasy. A lawyer from the consular was present by the second interrogation. Why did Ms. Kerchers cell phones as in (2) end up in someones garden, fortunately one was still on so they were easily tracked. You think RG was smart enough to know she had two cell phones, one of them was a gift from her flatmate? You mention the crime scene were there is strong evidence (not DNA); that the body was moved after she was deceased (slightly warm). Why did Amanda and RS show up the next morning with a mop and bucket? I guess she was in shock, right?

Blink – your reporting is way too biased toward her innocence. I’m not buying into the PR spin generated by an agency hired by Mr. Knox. The Knox family must be receiving huge donations on their website to support this trainwreck.

    Bill-

I am attempting to deal in facts here. Do I think we know 100% of what went on in that flat with all the parties leading up to the murder of this young woman? Of course not. You are calling me bias, when I am stating that there is not one shred of evidence, even circumstantial, that puts either Knox or Sollecito in this crime scene, and moreover, their alibis are supported by phone, web, and witness activity.

Here is a thought- anyone wonder why with today’s technology a cell ping study was not conducted considering the fact that the postal police were able to track the flatmate’s phone which was still on?

Meredith’s purse, still open on the bed, was where he got the phones, one of which she spoke to her Mother on when she got home, and her keys cards and cash were taken by Guede.

Lastly, I never said she was moved, because she was not, she was in full rigor, this is clear and undisputed.

Respectfully, here is another thought- those of you that support the original verdicts in this case, or should I say only Knox/Sollecito guilt- have y’all read the full version of the Massei report?

Meredith Kercher absolutely had defensive wounds, says so in black and white. ie:

..”Neither can one put aside the fact that during the course of the event Meredith Kercher received several wounds from a pointed and cutting weapon; it is therefore likely that she had tried to interpose her hands to attempt some deflection of the blows that were being inflicted on her neck, receiving in this way some defensive wounds as well…”

To all that have not read it, The translated Massei report we are all talking about:

    http://truejustice.org/ee/documents/perugia/TheMasseiReport.pdf

Evidence convicts, acquits and exonerates people of crime, not theory, in theory, anyway.

Knowing something about Italy and having spoken to an Italian who lives there, I can say the whole country is a mess. Corruption is the norm and is completely interwoven into the system, kind of like Asia, it is NOT like the USA, (which also has its share of corruption), nor is it like Germany, England and France either. Quoting my Italian friend, “Everyone in Italy is on something.” They have a very high right of substance use/abuse – this is also my experience knowing Italians. It is a beautiful place (and great food!), but I would be hesitant to go there because of these problems.
i am so glad to read Blink’s info because I have been up in the air about this. I always thought if AK and RS did this, it would only be because of an alcohol blackout, yet the experience I have of having known many, many clients in an alcohol blackout is that none of them have done anything remotely like killing and they all had histories of violence in their lives if they had done any hitting. I was convinced killing is not in either of their psyches by seeing them and having contacts that know close friends of RS and for AK, having a great family. I hope they and some others learn the lessons of too much partying.

After following the Knox/Sollecito case from the very beginning, I can’t believe I had never found this site. I thought I had read everything about it. I have been completely convinced from the start that these two had absolutely nothing to do with Ms. Kercher’s murder and have had them on my mind every day. I especially worried about this this past summer, having to wait so long for the appeal proceedings to proceed.

None of the accusations made against them have ever made any sense to me at all. There were so many lies presented in the tabloids, many of them planted by the prosecution. Satanic ritual? Orgy? Oh, please. What amazes me is that so many people still believe so much of that stuff.

Thank you for standing by them and helping to present the truth.

And, by the way, I don’t think the reception Amanda Knox received at the Sea-Tac airport was in any way tasteless. Just the opposite. She is innocent, and, although I live 3000 miles from Seattle, I rejoice with them.

It is sad that the Kercher family still believes that someone helped Rudy Guede kill Meredith. And it’s terrible that he’s going to get off with only 16 years.

(on a side note…their mothers should be in jail right along with them) I also compare the two girls. They do have similar looks. (One being the “psycho with a knife look). You should also be aware that the peeps on Eyes for Lies despise them both about equally, or so it would seem.

I haven’t been able to discern yet the last time that Lisa was seen by an outside party. Anybody??? Was it even that day?

Who left the house first? The brother or the husband?

IF Deborah had anything to do with Lisa’s disappearance, my thought has been that at the time of the shopping trip and hanging out on the front porch with a friend (why only the kids inside?), Lisa was already gone (one way or the other). “Bedtime” was moved up, so Lisa was “asleep” before the neighbor came over. IF Lisa died while Deborah was blotto, do we really think she managed to hide her and the phones this well in those few hours in the middle of the night?

Deborah’s recent statement that she didn’t see any problem with her doing “adult” things (yeah, getting drunk is so mature) after dark really disturbed me. Even if she felt that way before, wouldn’t she naturally be beating up on herself now for getting drunk when she was the only adult protecting her baby girl, who is now gone? Defending herself over that is a BIG red flag. And she doesn’t want to stress the two boys, so she hasn’t even asked them about what they may have seen or heard that night. Seriously?? I’d be grilling my other kids, albeit in the most loving, supportive and nonaccusatory manner possible. And they’d be under the care of a child psychologist by now, as well.

Other media options for Knox include an interview with Katie Couric on ABC’s “20/20” show. One advantage that Couric has is that she has kept in close contact with Knox’s mother, which may be enough to secure the potentially rating-making interview.

Matt Laurer from NBC is another high-profile host interested in asking Knox the questions the people want to hear. Of course, Knox has the option of choosing to make numerous interviews, which will allow her to tell different angles of her story and share more experiences.

I lived abroad with young people from many different countries, in similar situations, many years ago. Because of my own experiences witnessing, and those of unfortunate others, I was firmly convinced that Amanda et al. were not just innocent, but deliberately framed. I do believe that with further investigation, we will find the prosecutor and the bar Guede worked at, and the one AManda worked at, in very deep with the drug/prostitution networks that give Perugia it’s nickname “The Disneyland of Drugs” . The prosecutor’s personal bonus IMO was to get her in jail, forgotten, where he could then use her in some ways he had already begun. Do you think this does not go on in foreign jails? Those other British roommates fled instantly to Britain, out of reach of the prosecutor, and not a single allegation against them. Instead, Amanda played CSI and doesn’t understand the depravity of human nature.

Rudy Guede is an admitted murderer and notorious liar. His sentence was drastically reduced in exchange for implicating AK and RS in the death of Meridith Kercher.

Glad to see that the judge’s report is unequivocal.

In effect, I believe that Knox and Sollecito have each served 4 years of Guede’s sentence.

  46. [...] Amanda Knox Acquittal- what many did not know about the prosecutor will change most of your opinions in this case.  Blink dubs Giuliano Mignini  “The Mike Nifong” of Perusia. [...]

Blink, if you ever truly study this case and do an analysis, I will be very interested to read. (I am impressed with your WM3 analysis).

From what I have read about this case (TrueJustice.org, and Merediths family thinks Amanda was involved), I do think it is possible, borderline probable Amanda knows more than she says/and/or participated in the coverup.

And possible, although doubtful she actively participated in the actual murder.

    Just my 2 cents

If I thought analyzing this case was even possible ( getting documents internationally especially in this case is a nightmare at best) outside of the very basic review I did initially privately, I would.

It is my personal opinion based on my knowledge of the case that Ms. Knox was not involved, although I do understand how her family feels-
