Jennifer Kesse Breaking News: Witness Statement Points To Someone At Work- Kesse Family and OPD Press Conference Scheduled

Update-Podcast of Interview with DANA PRETZER

…”Your daughter seems to have vanished.  We do not know how or why, and we really have nothing to go on.”

If you can possibly imagine hearing those words, which is exactly what Drew and Joyce Kesse were told about their missing daughter Jennifer in 2010.   After an exhaustive and fruitless 4 + years searching for the 24 year old enterprising  analyst for Central Florida Investments, the very agency tasked with reviewing the case gave the Kesse’s their latest emotional contusion.

…”I begged for an FBI review of the case, but at the time, I did not know that only meant that they would review the case and provide recommendations.  I had always been told that the FBI was the best investigators out there.  Those words rendered us despondent yet again.”- Drew Kesse

Island  Girl

Jenn Kesse was in love.   At 24, she owned her condo, made an excellent living just 2 years out of college and was contemplating the “big step” with her boyfriend of one year,  Rob Allen.

Rob, an Englishman, lived in South Florida about two hours away from Jennifer. He had his own career successes and a prior marriage that left him gun shy.

Personal Photo

The couple  was at a crossroads, and the impromptu trip to St. Croix spent with friends and members of Rob’s family was an important one for the relationship.

Jenn phoned her family from the island, and was jubilant.

“…Dad, what kind of rum do you drink- I am in the shop and I don’t and I am in the store here and I want to bring you back something ..”

“Why are you calling me on your vacation and you do not need to bring us anything go enjoy yourself..”, Drew told his thoughtful first born.

While she was away, with her permission,  Jennifer’s younger brother Logan Kesse was enjoying a male bonding endeavor at big sisters new condo in Orlando.  Jenn gave Logan a set of keys over Christmas.

Logan’s posse et al traveled from the family home in Bradenton and arrived Friday January 20th.

The weekend was a great time had by all,  the condo was restored to its pre-frat status and the worst kerfuffle was that Travis Bourguignon,  childhood friend of both Jennifer and Logan, absently left his new work- issued cell  behind.

Jenn and Rob returned to his home via Miami due to flight cancellations Sunday evening.

Jenn left Ft. Lauderdale straightaway Monday morning at 6am for the commute to her job in Ocoee.

She arrives by 8 , works a full day and is walking out of the building with her supervisor, John Willman, when she rings her family from her cell.

At 6:15 PM   Jenn  is on her cell with Mom and Dad while leaving the office.  Logan chimes in to ask sis to FedEx Travis’s phone as he needs it for work.  Jenn commits to sending it overnight the following day, she reminds him she had not even been back to the condo to locate it yet.

Enroute to her condo at Mosaic at Millenia Jenn was gushing about her trip as each family member passed the phone.

This conversation will be the last time Jennifer’s family heard her voice.

As often happens during Caribbean rendezvous- things gelled for the couple, and they decided that they wanted to take the next steps and move in together.   The “who and the where” to be decided upon return to their respective “real worlds”.  The conversation about the “real world” began as Jenn spoke to Rob shortly after her family; the couple ended up in the familiar back and forth regarding who would have the easiest move and so forth.

At 9:57PM Jenn speaks to Rob on her landline  for the last time.

When Jenn misses an 11:15 am meeting the following Tuesday morning,  Joyce Kesse gets a call that Jenn did not make  it in,  and as every Mother very close to their daughter does,  she KNEW.

Joyce Kesse knew immediately her child was in some sort of distress and in minutes had mobilized the family convoy to Orlando.  They arrived at approximately 1:30 after calling the manager on the way and learning Jenn’s car was not there.

The Kesse’s would not leave their missing daughter’s home for 8 months as it became the “Find Jennifer Kesse” headquarters.

Upon arrival, Logan Kesse began banging and kicking doors in the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex he had spent last weekend.   With very little occupancy came scant tenants, and even less information.

The Kesse’s discovered Jennifer’s shower appeared to be wet, a damp towel draped over the dryer, and her bed appeared as if she slept on one side with outfits described as “suitable for work”  draped on the other.

Jenn’s duffle from her trip lay unpacked in the foyer. The pepper spray she had to remove from her keys due to flight regulations lay on the dresser she restored herself.

Her blow-dryer was on the vanity, her pj’s lay on the bath mat outside of the shower, the mail she retrieved when she got home from work  stacked neatly on her counter.

3537 Conroy, Unit #2226  once the proud accomplishment of a beautiful and driven young woman, became a crime scene.

Perhaps.

Victimology 101- Low Risk

Jennifer Kesse was very close with her entire family, but she was a true Daddy’s girl.  Mom and Dad mentored her through her car and home purchases, and Drew Kesse managed the punch list of her newly constructed abode.  He made her ask the condo workers in her condo to put the white paint for the crown molding  in a Tupperware for him and he would paint it himself- it was taking so long.   Or, Dad and Mom welcomed the excuse to come and see her.

Jenn was most uncomfortable with the amount of landscapers and workers around the complex on a daily basis and shared those concerns openly.

Photobucket User Photo

What Jennifer was not open about and known only to her family and close friends, was that she was a four year Spanish major and she was beyond fluent.

She knew what sorts of misogynistic jeers were being shared between a sneering worker or two.

Jenn shared a great deal of personal and romantic information with her parents by all accounts and were in frequent daily contact.  When Jenn  told Drew she expressed her feelings of love to Rob Allen, and he did not “say it back”,  she felt hurt.  The trip with him was a definite test.

She felt the weight of the every- other-weekend commute for someone she had been dating almost a year was going to have to move forward or Jenn was considering moving on.

Jenn had also been approached by a vendor turned personal friend who was working with her to launch the companies new debit system- to consider going out on a romantic date with him.

Scott Stryker would have to cool his jets for now.  Jennifer told him while they had a business relationship and she was currently in one , there was no chance of anything more.

In another Dad-Daughter chat,  Jenn told Drew that she was having an issue with a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.  Jenn asked her dad his thoughts about the concept of just going out to lunch with a person to tell them that you were not interested in them.   Was that was a kinder option than just saying no, where she stood to risk an interpersonal situation she did not want?  Jenn did not disclose that her office admirer was married with children.   Drew believes that fact may have raised some necessary red flags for him back then.

Drew advised Jennifer not to go on any outing that might be perceived as a  date, but to agree to lunch and have the conversation in a lighter setting, and that was the best she could do.  In a follow up discussion between the two,  Jenn told Drew she had done just that and it went fine.

Commensurate Panic

“She had a fight with her boyfriend, she took off, happens all the time, she will be back in a couple hours.- OPD detective”

The Kesse’s knew better.  Rob Allen and Jenn’s best friend Lauren were at her condo by the afternoon and the people that knew her better than anyone were terrified; Jennifer was in trouble and panic set in.

While it was unknown until discovered 2 days later, a closed circuit camera catches an unknown suspect parking her 2004 black Chevy Malibu in the visitor spot at the Huntingdon On The Green apartments, approximately 1.2 miles away from her condo, at noon.

At approximately 7PM a missing person report was filed for Jennifer Joyce Kesse and a BOLO was dispatched by Orlando Police Department for her car.

On January 24, 2012 Jennifer Kesse will be missing for 6 years.  In that time she has had a dozen detectives working on her case, it has been transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Kesse’s request, and her case is being reviewed by the 8th review team tomorrow morning followed by a press conference arranged by Orlando Police Department and FDLE.

There have been numerous  searches,  both organized by the Kesse’s efforts as well as law enforcement which have not yielded a shred of evidence associated with Jennifer Kesse.  Last week was the largest search effort to date.

This is largely due to the fact that the 2 detectives originally assigned to the case who retired on the same day 9 months in, never kept a single note.  Not even a water-stained cocktail napkin with a smeared phone number. Nada.

Prevailing Theories For The Weary

Because Jennifer appeared to have slept in her bed and got ready for work, the prevailing theory has always been that she “at least got out the door” the morning of Tuesday January 24 and was abducted prior to getting to her car.

Water droplets in the tub at 1:30 PM notwithstanding,  I have never understood why investigators seemed to be so married to this theory.  In fact, in the few years I have known Drew Kesse  through our respective advocacy work and mutual associations,  it was not until a few months ago we ever discussed Jennifer’s case for that very reason.

I told Drew I would absolutely be willing to have my team’s resources look into Jenn’s case,  but to be honest, I really didn’t believe I could offer any insights as I did not subscribe to the prevailing theory in the case.  I have worked on cases before where that has been the situation and found it futile in progressing leads, which is of course is the goal.

The last thing I want to do is upset the apple cart, and in my mind, this is a personal crime, not a random construction person or landscaper.  The odds of Jennifer being abducted by a stranger in broad daylight at that hour, in full view of a handful of people in visual proximity, carrying her keys and a briefcase at her size, and with her physical strength does not jibe for me.     It also does not even begin to touch the statistics that agree with my position.

I told Drew, “I really think it is likely someone Jennifer knew.  It might be someone she did not know well, or their intentions certainly, but everything I have ever reviewed on the case has not excluded that possibility for me.   Statistically speaking alone,  if this is a homicide case, and preliminarily I do believe that is the most likely scenario- there is a greater than 90% chance she knew her killer.

Jenn is a low risk victim for a random and stranger perpetrated abduction, period.

His response to me was crisp.  “Christina,  I do not care about theories or whose they are, I just do not want to go in the ground without knowing what happened to my daughter- if you have a different thought or approach,  there is nobody closed off to any possibility.  We just want her found,  it will be six years of Hell, and she deserves to come home.”

For the last 3 months the investigative team at www.blinkoncrime.com has analyzed thousands of documents, conducted numerous interviews of sources both willing and unwilling to discuss her case publicly in conjunction with on-location review.

Separating the wheat from the chaff would not come easy.  But wheat we found.

Exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com,  all new facts in Jennifer’s disappearance are marked with an asterisk.

Random Abduction In Open Stairwell

Despite the fact that there were literally over 100 different workers on site, all of which would have been there by 7am when the bulk of the workday started for landscapers and contractors, neither saw nor heard anything unusual that morning.  In fact, not one person interviewed remembers seeing Jennifer’s car* that morning upon arrival.

The door to Jennifer’s condo was locked with no sign of forced entry or any sort of scuffle in her home.  Dishes in the dishwasher were clean*, and likely ran by Logan when he left, no dishes in the sink.  (Editors Note: If you have not already, run your shower for 15 minutes at the showerhead trajectory of a 5’8” tall person and keep track of the time you can say with certainty you do not find water droplets.  It should be noted of course that the assumption continues to be made that it was Jenn that actually showered.)

To my knowledge the only conclusive fact about when Jennifer Kesse was last in her apartment is that she spoke to Rob Allen on her landline to his cell phone at 9:57PM.

Well, that, and her phone was NOT in it* at 10:40PM when it’s power source was removed after pinging in a location intentionally being withheld by www.blinkoncrime.com.

Jenn’s condo was equipped with a working intrusion alarm*.  She had disarmed it because Logan was visiting for the weekend.  It was not* armed when the family arrived the afternoon she was discovered missing.

According to a source inside the management company servicing Mosaic at the time, they have never been asked to produce any sort of reporting* as to its settings by Orlando Police (OPD).

In a conversation with the condo’s current owner, those records would no longer be available as of the date of this writing.

The ancillary objects pointing to Jennifer sleeping in her condo that night could just as easily reflect that she took a nap, showered and went out, or was roused from her bed by an unexpected visitor known to her.

Jennifer’s glasses* were located in the bathroom, not next to her bed.

Missing from her closet are her favorite taupe snake print pumps*

Found in Jennifer’s hamper was a man’s sweater* that does not belong to any known male associates of hers and is believed to fit no larger than a medium build individual.

Previously thought to be missing but discovered after being returned to the Kesse’s by OPD years later, was her brown pocketbook* she used on her trip.  It had been packed in the duffel bag located on the floor in the foyer.

There were 2 workers that had access to work orders inside Jenn’s condo*.  Both men were interviewed, agreed to take polygraph tests administered by the FBI and were subsequently cleared.*   The identities of those individuals did not produce any criminal records.

To date, Jennifer’s keys, wallet, iPod, LG phone and briefcase are missing.  Travis Bourgignion’s phone has never been recovered and pings from his phone confirm it ran out of power over the weekend.*

2004 Chevrolet Malibu

#2226 parking spaces was located to the rear of the building which allowed those familiar with the complex to access the back entrance, which was not enclosed due to the construction.

Jennifer used the front entrance* that evening when returning from work to pick up her mail on the way in.

There was no sign of any foul play in either the exterior or interior of Jenn’s car.

Found on the floor of the front passenger side of her car were the flip flops she wore home from work that afternoon as well as a pair she wore in St. Croix.* Also found* were aspirin, her broken mail key, a business card, her sunglasses and cell charger (not plugged in and wrapped around the gear shift).

A DVD player for her bedroom given to her by Rob Allen and strapped in with the seatbelt was located in the backseat.

The Malibu was found locked in the lot of The Huntingdon On The Green apartments on January 26th.

It was removed at the request of OPD by a flatbed tow truck prior to CST processing, and prior to any assessment as to whether or not it was in working condition or impaired in some way, causing Jenn to need assistance.

As it was equipped with coded keys*, the suspect who parked it had to have Jennifer’s original key. Attempting to use a spare  would have been rendered it inoperable.

Drew Kesse was never asked to provide a second coded key in his possession at the home in Bradenton so it is unclear how OPD was able to gain access and perform any necessary diagnostics.

Fatal Familiarity?

Distrust all those who love you extremely upon a very slight acquaintance and without any visible reason.  – Lord Chesterfield

It is ironic that the initial LE theory was that Jenn was essentially pitching a fit over a boyfriend, but spent the bulk of early efforts running down the potential illegal alien and day-labor dujour angles.

The usual suspects were easy to clear- Rob’s cell was at his home and then work, where he was, but he agreed to and passed a polygraph test.   Matthew Sullivan, the former boyfriend who was so devastated at the news of Jennifer’s disappearance he drank himself senseless for two weeks and was described as “inconsolable”-cleared.  Vendors- cleared.   Any and all known male associates-cleared.

Astonishingly, it was not until almost 3 and half years after Jennifer Kesse disappeared that the first of Jenn’s co-workers were interviewed.   You read that sentence correctly.

Connections to completely unassociated cases (Grinstead) and abduction by a Dubai sheik theories were apparently the priority.   Apparently the Liam Neeson blockbuster “Taken” was at least partially inspired on the publicly known aspects of Jenn’s case as the Kesse’s received a call from one of the movie’s producers.

Occam and the good men and women of OPD assigned to this case are strangers, I fear.

In their defense, and I guess also by default, playing the hand they were dealt by the early detectives who apparently had developed their own secret decoder implements without sharing, was the wrong kind of flush.

As I began my interviews among colleagues of Jenn’s that would speak to me on the condition of anonymity only, I was repeatedly asked if I spoke to an individual by the name of Johnny Campos*.

In a subsequent follow up interview with Drew Kesse, I asked him if he was familiar with that name.

“Yes, that is the guy I told you about that Jenn said was asking her out constantly and I told her to have lunch with and let him down easy that way instead of a date.”

“I  remember because I asked her to repeat his name.  I thought it odd for an adult businessman to go by the name “Johnny” at the office.   I can’t remember what year, I think it was about 2 years ago, Joyce and I were at one of our sponsored events at the Mall and he introduced himself.”

I said, He introduced himself to you?

“Not to me, I was talking, but I saw him.  He walked up to Joyce and said that he had worked with Jenn and that before she went missing the office had a secret Santa exchange where he got her name.”

“He bought her this ornament type thing, really beautiful, in a red velvet box thingie or stand that sat on her desk.”

I said,  Didn’t OPD secure the things from her cube?

He answered, “I have no idea, he just said she kept it on her desk and he thought we should have it.”

Further interviews and  investigation led me to Campos’s subordinate, who knew both Johnny Campos and Jenn Kesse.

In fact, he was stationed in the cubicle next to Jenn and what I learned next will undoubtedly be the WTF moment in this case.

Because of the open investigation and his status as a possible material witness, I will refer to him as Adam Frank, which is not his real name.  Frank’s statements to me have been independently verified through multiple sources or you would not be reading them here.

Adam had been working for Central Florida Investments for eight years before being fired for asking his bosses to investigate the alleged harassment perpetrated against him by his supervisor, Johnny Campos, since the day Jennifer Kesse disappeared.  He believed it was because he knew specifics about them, and for what he told Orlando Police and subsequently the FBI, which was corroborated by the polygraph he requested to take.

After his superiors had met with OPD weeks earlier, In May 2009 Adam Frank received a subpoena served to him at the office in full view of his peers, to meet with FDLE the following week.

He told them the following (notes from our interview):

He was friends with Johnny.   One time when he said to Jennifer in an email about work, but wrote at the last line she looked nice today,  Johnny asked him why he would say that to her,  was he interested in her?  Adam told him that he was just being nice and asked him how he knew about it in the first place. Campos ignored the question.   On another occasion,  he had walked past Campos and Jenn in the hallway and they were laughing.  He thought it was about him because of the email so he asked them, both replied absolutely no, and shared whatever they were laughing about; alleviating Frank’s angst.

It was short-lived,  on Friday January 20th, upon learning of Jenn’s impromptu trip with her boyfriend, Campos was bending Adam’s ear like a wanna be jealous boyfriend.   Campos told him that Jenn was a jerk for dating that Brit a-hole and other fill in the blank derogatory insults.  Adam was uncomfortable and reminded Campos that Campos was a married man and he did not want anything to do with the conversation or get in the middle of whatever was going on; he needed his job.

Johnny Alberto Campos Facebook Pic

On Monday morning January 23rd, around 8am, Adam overhears Campos confront Jenn upon her return while in his cubicle, unbeknownst to them.

While I have the full statement of what was said between the two,  in the interest of preserving case sensitive information I will provide a summary.

Campos confronted her about where she was and who she was with.  Jenn responded she had a fantastic time, loved it and hated to leave; Campos was audibly and visibly perturbed.  At no time did either become aware that Adam overheard the exchange.

At least not until he met with OPD for the second time in 2009 where they informed Adam that Campos had been interviewed based on his information.   At this time, everything made sense to Adam as to what was going on since the day Jennifer disappeared.

When Campos showed up for work around noon * on Tuesday January 24th appearing overtly nervous and pacing around,  Frank thought he was acting strangely, but it did not escalate to “scary” until a few hours later where it was learned through the grapevine that Jenn Kesse might have been abducted.  Campos is a supervisor and therefore not required to keep a timecard.

The next day, Wednesday January 25th,  if you can believe it, proved to be even stranger.

Johnny Campos asks Adam to drive the pair to the new Westgate office at Lake Eleanor.  Adam thought it bizarre since it was not either man’s responsibility to do such, but agreed.

It is not clear if Campos was without his 2000 blue Ford Taurus that day.  On the way, Campos asked Adam how far his brother lived from there, the one with the vacant apartment next to his and if they could stop there and ask him if he heard anything.

During the drive Campos told Adam wherever she (Jenn) was, “she was likely eaten up by alligators already.

Adam asked him not to say such things- Campos repeated it.

Adam and Campos stopped in at the lake Eleanor office , said hello to a few colleagues and headed back.

Over the next four years, until Adam Frank had the second meeting at HIS request with the FBI in an attempt to further allegations he felt were not being taken seriously by OPD, he claims Campos harassed him on the job relentlessly.  Things were about to get worse.  The FBI advised him if he was having problems at work over the issue, he should go to his superiors.

On January 19  2011, he did.  In three subsequent internal meetings with varying levels of seniority Adam repeated his story about his treatment by his immediate supervisor and concerns for his physical safety if Campos was involved in what happened to Jennifer Kesse.  He finally requested a meeting with John Willman and told him the events he was going through were making him physically ill and asked for his help to review and or expedite his complaint.

Three days later,  Adam received a call from Willman where he told him his issues with Campos and the Kesse case were not good for the company and he would be terminated effective immediately.  At no time was Frank ever told the status or outcome of his complaint against Campos.  Johnny Campos is the only contemporary of Jennifer’s to maintain his position to date.  Attempts to reach Mr. Campos and Mr. Willman for comment were not returned.

Ironically, Adam Frank files a grievance against Johnny Campos 5 years to the day Campos returned to CFI after a short stint in Lake County jail for ripping up a citation the morning of January 16th.

Campos was remanded to Lake County jail on bond, and after his wife posted the required $500  and a brief appearance on the 18th returned to work on the first day Jennifer Kesse was off; likely learning about her departure then.

The only known suspect in the disappearance is the individual that was recorded parking her vehicle.

The Kesse’s have been invited to a review of Jennifer’s case tomorrow morning at 9am, followed by the invitation to local media to ask questions on the status of the case from OPD and the Kesse’s.

Drew Kesse and Christina Stoy,  BOC Editor In Chief will be discussing the case on THE DANA PRETZER SHOW Wednesday January 18th at 9PM.

^^ Could have cut my previous post in half had I read this sentence the first time . . . duh.

Blink, are you able to clarify when the condo security-station guard last saw Jennifer’s car leave and if this is a 24/7 station?

The arm only went up when one arrived at that time to my knowledge, not emphasis on the leaving.
That said, the rear was open because of the construction.

I googled “what to do if you have a stalker”. High on the list is always wearing shoes that you can easily maneuver in.

Exploring the possability she left at night while taking into account eyegasses, briefcase missing, and pumps – which all pointed to her leaving in the morning to me at first.

    1. Could she have not yet taken her contacts out for the night (given eyeglasses on the bathroom counter).

    2. Left her briefcase in the car not planning to work. Perp gets rid of or keeps it to snoop.

    3. Let’s perp in (she’s polite – goes to lunch and laughs with creeper) who then gains control of her and has her put on pumps .

Thoughts? My mind has been trying to tie together these pieces all day.

If we knew for sure she found Travis’s cell, this would be easy. We can’t know that for sure unfortunately. The cell tells the story, imo.

Out of curiosity, people have said this was a high crime area… if this is true, would Jenn have left her briefcase and/or the DVD player (not in a box, wrapped, or concealed in any way, mind you) in her car in plain sight?

I live in a city of high crime and rule number one is to not leave anything of any value in your car where it is visible… not even handicap parking tags.

If crime was indeed an issue in this area then I would think that Jenn wouldn’t have left either of these things in her car at all, or at least didn’t plan on leaving them in her car for any length of time (perhaps she carried a load of stuff into her condo from her car and didn’t get a chance to go back to get the rest of it?)

  4. Black Pearl says:

Blink, its been reported that Johnny came in late to work the day Jenn was reported missing (Tuesday). Can anyone confirm what time Johnny left work the day before– the Monday that Jenn was is the office following her vacation and the last time she made it into the office?

Only that they did not leave together.

i find it hard to believe jenn would go out dancing with campos, especially at that hour. it’s been a long time since i was 24, so just thinking about that schedule – the flight delay the night before, not being able to get home, getting up early enough to leave the house @ 6 am ( i’m so not a morning person, lol ), driving 2 hours to work then immediately being confronted by this guy over where she was and who she was with, as if it’s any of his business… working the full day, leaving @ 6:15 – then finally getting back to her own condo for the first time since leaving for vacation. even @ 24, i don’t know if i’d be going out @ 10 that night, and having to get up early again the next day for work, lol . besides, there were so many phone conversations during the day and evening, and she was apparantly thrilled that things were working out with her boyfriend. it just doesn’t seem like she would go out with this campos guy that night – unless it was to confront him about his unwanted attention and harraassment. she had told her dad she did the lunch thing with him and it went “fine”. do we know when that was? it is odd that he was jailed for tearing up a ticket ( i was also wondering what those details were and if it involved stalking jenn ), but he obviously was angry and out of control over that, and then a few days later when he first saw again, he attacks her over her vacation and relationship? he may have told her he was “fine” with their conversation, but apparantly he really was not.

i don’t know, it does seem possible he either showed up at her apartment that night, or lured her out, or even possibly, she went to meet him before work the next morning to clear this up. the talk at lunch, whenever that was, apparantly had not settled the issue, so maybe she decided to do it another way? she was just so happy the day she returned, about the trip and the next step in her relationship. this could have sent campos over the edge. she even walked out of work that night with her boss as she was talking on her cell to her parents about it all?

today, i happened to check my shower 4 hours after i had showered and it was completely dry, lol not sure when it actually dried, but using that as an example, if her shower was found with water droplets @ 1:30, that would mean she used it after 9:30? that does not seem likely. and even with heat and humidity, doesn’t everyone in FL have AC?

so much of the evidence sounds to me like she went out at night – the glasses in the bathroom, no contacts found, the power source being cut from her cell @ 10:40, sunglasses in the car. could the pj’s on the bathmatt been planted, along with the sweater in the bottom of the hamper? ( it just doesn’t sound to me like she had time to change into pj’s and take a nap and get up and shower, put her contacts back in, in between the early evening phone calls and the last one around 10.)

blink, i think you said her brown purse that she used on her trip was returned in the duffle? does that mean it is possible that is not the purse she used every day for work? just wondering if the missing items,( the keys, wallet, i pod ) were transferred to another purse? or possibly the briefcase? or do you think someone specifically took them, along with her cell and travis’ phone?

she seemed pretty organized, and it’s hard to know if those things along with the outfits were taken care of that night, or the next morning.

so many questions. so glad blink and associates are on this! oh, and i also thought the cord wrapped around the gear shift was strange. i never wrap anything or leave anything that could interfere with the use. that would be like leaving your shoes under the pedals, which she was careful not to do.

  6. Word Girl says:

Blackpearl and all of you make such good points of consideration.

    1. Blink, I have to say when I first saw the phone charger in the car wound up, I thought that a man did that. But then, Drew was very influential in the physical (painting crown molding) activities of her life and, judging from the way she sought advice from him, I suspect he may have told her to ‘wind it up so it doesn’t get in the way of your driving.”

Or, more sinisterly, someone–and not the poor soul who left the car off–wound the cord up in anger. Her last phone call was to her future hubby. Her love who she spent that last romantic weekend with…That might in itself provoke anger in someone commandeering her car.

“Hey, hey. C’mere. Yo tango uno carro aqui. No neccesito. Perro…si possible…si, solo uno 1 mile. Ciento dollares? Gracias, hermano!”

I doubt the car deliverer has any idea he was involved in anything nefarious.

    2. Travis’ cell not found. Where was its last ping? I am so angered by this! However, had the responsible Jenn arrived at her place, found the lost cell and put it in the briefcase. We already know Travis cell was without power over the weekend. wft.

    3. Again, the missing pumps. If Jenn was abducted before she got dressed, by someone familar who knew her preference for those shoes,
he“with pathological intent“ could have usupred the shoes to throw onto his fire of “you aren’t so sexy now, biatche, fire.”
Sorry, but that’s how abusers justify.

    Sneaky, lol, I love it.

word girl, that’s the feeling i got from the pic of the wound up cord – anger. even strangulation.

still shocked and intrigued by all this information and trying to process. i was just thinking about how none of her coworkers were interviewed for 3 1/2 years! and the fact that none came forward on their own, would only speak to blink on the condition of anonymity, and all seemed to name campos. and i’m thinking, not surprising – if they were also witnessing campo’s harrasment of frank, they may have intimidated and in fear themselves. he seemed to be setting the example of what happens to you if you cross him. was jenn’s supervisor also frank’s? i think they ( jenn and frank ) sat next to each other? it seems the supervior was doing nothing about it, and the fact that he fired frank when he finally went to him, and campos is the only one left there, makes me wonder about the relationship and dealings between campos and willman. getting a creepy feeling about him now too.

i think it was also stated that it’s not known what time campos left that monday night, only that he did not leave at the same time or with jenn. however, willman and jenn walked out togther? with her on the phone to her parents? seems he had to have known something was going on with campos in regard to jenn. and how could he not have seen the harrasment toward frank for five years? just rambling out loud again.

  8. marnie says:

just reread – campos was frank’s supervisor, and willman was jenn’s? but jenn and frank sat next to each other? sigh, just trying to figure out the physical layout of the office, who was in what department, and how campos could harrass frank and who would have witnessed?

  9. larry says:

I find it incomprehensible that Jennifer, a very security conscious person, was lured out of her condo by anyone and I mean anyone after 10pm at night.
    But it seems it happened.
Surely she had locked her condo door?
Forgetting anything else I would have thought tiredness alone would have kept her indoors (Marnie’s post above is a good read)

The most stunning new piece of information for me is the final ping on her cell was outside her condo at 10:40pm and some 43 minutes after her phone conversation with Rob Allen.
That’s the way I read it anyway.

My hunch is there are more surprises to come in this tragedy.

The detective work by the Blink crew is of the highest order.

larry, I believe you may be new to BOC, but you pack a wallup, dear sir.

We decided to release the time of the last cell ping because someone has been happy to linger in the donnybrook of misinformation for 6 years.

Sadly, we are going to experience more surprises as you astutely pointed out, and I pray for the return of Jenn to her family.

  10. susan2 says:

I’ve read this article three times and the only thing that makes since to me, is that Jenn left the condo after her conversation with Rob to run up to Wendys or McDonalds or the corner store to grab something to eat (or to the Walmart to get a box to FedEx Travis’ phone). She only took her phone and her wallet, because she just planned to be gone for a few minutes. She either “ran into” or was “follow” by “someone” and she never made it back to the condo. “Whoever” had her keys and the rest of the night to “take” what he wanted and staged the rest to make it look like she had been in the condo getting ready for work.

  11. Black Pearl says:

Blink, this may sound strange, but do you know if Jenn had an alarm clock in her bedroom? It may help if you can find this out. Jenn is almost the same age as I am, and I (and a good majority of my friends/peers) now use our cell phones as our alarm clocks (alarm clocks being a built-in tool or feature on all cell phones).

I just stayed in a hotel with my parents a few days ago and they were really suspicious of my using my cell phone as our alarm clock in the morning– they really wanted to ask the front desk for a wake-up call. I point this out because maybe people our parents’ age or even a generation older than us don’t use their cell phones as alarm clocks or don’t know that they can.

My point is, if Jenn did not have a bedside alarm clock in her bedroom then it is most likely that she simply used her cell phone as her alarm clock and if the cell phone was powered off at 10:40 pm Monday night, then it is fairly obvious that she wasn’t woken up by an alarm clock for work on Tuesday morning.

If she did have a bed-side alarm clock, is anyone able to check to see if it was set to “off” or does anyone in her family remember whether it was going off in the mornings following their arrival at Jenn’s apartment? If it was “on” or going off in the mornings, then perhaps Jenn set it Monday night, planning to wake up in her bed on Tuesday morning– perhaps placing her in her condo later at night or on Tuesday morning. If it was set to “off” its possible that she never re-set it following her vacation (assuming she turned it off to spare her brother and his friends an early wake-up while they stayed at her condo). “Off” would make me think that she disappeared earlier, sometime Tuesday night, because she didn’t have a chance to get ready for bed or the next day by setting her alarm clock.

This is a stretch but its also possible that if the alarm was turned “off” and if the bad guy was inside her apartment at some point, that he turned off the alarm clock so that neighbors wouldn’t hear it going off every morning unattended to and either try to contact Jenn or alert the housing complex or police. Usually alarms go off for 30 minutes, an hour or endlessly until someone turns it off or throws a breaker to cut the power supply.

Just some thoughts in hopes of narrowing the window in which she likely went missing.

Not strange at all Black Pearl, it was one of my very first questions. She did not have an alarm clock, she used her phone for everything. It was one of my main reasons for questioning the morning abduction theory in the first place. If her phone is removed from the power source the night before, how was she getting up in the first place?
    B

  12. Patricia says:

If she was lured out that night there would be evidence on phone records so unless someone came to her door I’m not sure how she would be lured. If someone was following her and she went out to her car to get something or to go pick ip a bite to eat that would be an opportunity. I feel that if she had a plan to meet someone, that person would not be the only one to know of it (i.e., her friend, Rob or her folks). When she talked to Rob last was her plan to get in bed after her long day?

According to Rob, they said good night at 9:57PM. I know they had more than one conversation earlier that evening. I would not be surprised to hear that call from records was actually either Rob calling her from cell to her landline and never got her, and was going off an earlier conversation the pair had.

It is on my list of things to re-verify, as in, having someone look at the records while I am there, lol.

That said, as it stands, if I am looking at the scene alone, it looks to me like she went out.

  13. numbersgirl says:

Great work Blink and team! I’m so glad to see you’re on this case.

Is it possible Jenn was lured out of her condo after 10PM by someone claiming one of her family members was in distress ie, “I ran into your brother in a bar..he’s had too much to drink…I’m driving him to your place..come out to the parking lot and help me get him inside”?

They lived a few hours away, doubtful.
    B

  14. Black Pearl says:

In regards to the cell phone charger cord being wound around the gear shift… it possible that someone who was angry could have done that but my personal opinion (as a very neat and tidy young lady with a tendency to corral cords) is that Jenn did this. Having a separate phone charger for the car means that the charger was a semi-permanent fixture in the car and as someone else pointed out, her dad could have recommended wrapping up the cord, or she could have just had the insight to do it herself. It keeps the cord under control, it wouldn’t interfere with her driving and it would free up some space in the console area for other things and for her to easily grab other things without looking or wrestling them free while driving. I can’t imagine someone being angry or having killed someone taking the time to wind up a phone charger cord in the car. If it had really pissed him off, he would have just chucked it out the car window… no need to keep it… several other personal belongings are still missing.

I think its possible that she was lured out of her house at night (or as some asked about extra sets of keys, perhaps someone had a copy made)… though it seems counter intuitive, young women who haven’t had to deal with a lot of a$$holes in their life can be too tolerant and/or naive about people. I know I have been too kind at times. Case in point, in my opinion, is even going out to lunch with Campos to “let him down easy.” In all honesty, she might have felt the need to let him down easy because they were coworkers, but she may have also done that bc she was too nice and concerned with his feelings. She had every right to have given him the bird, alerted HR, looked into a restraining order and threatened legal action against him and the office.

Walking out of the office Monday evening with her supervisor while on the phone with her parents… She may have been on the phone with her parents bc it was the first opportunity she had to talk to them, but did she ever call them at lunch time? I think its slightly odd to “walk out with” a coworker but be talking on the phone instead of talking to said coworker. This makes me wonder if she was alarmed by Campos’ reaction upon her return, and was: (1) leaving the office in the company of another male– and a male with perceived “power” due to his position at the office– and (2) on the phone to make it clear she had a “life line” so that Campos wouldn’t try to engage her or follow her out of the office. These actions could have been simple defense.

I now think it is very clear that it wasn’t so much Jenn’s vacation or absence from work that may have set Campos off but more the news that she may have shared at work (either with Campos directly or with other coworkers while being eavesdropped upon)– that it was great, that it was a bonding experience, and that she and her boyfriend decided to move in together.

  15. Black Pearl says:

Sorry for all the posts… But my opinion on Willman and Campos’ relationship is that if the company had other problems at the time, they may have been willing to sweep Campos’ bad behavior under the rug either because the “had bigger fish to fry” at the time or because with Campos being in Finance and the company’s problems being financial, they could have a spoken or tacit agreement to keep their mouths shut about any indiscretions the other entity had made recently simply to cover their own butts. I would have thought that if it was a “bigger fish to fry” or “too many pots on the fire” type of thing that Willman and others would at least be speaking out now about any info they had/have. The fact that they aren’t overly forthcoming makes me think it was an issue of Campos having some sort of incriminating info or knowledge about Willman specifically, or the department, office branch, or company in general.

    EARLY IN ARTICLE -
As often happens during Caribbean rendezvous- things gelled for the couple, and they decided that they wanted to take the next steps and move in together.

    LATER IN ARTICLE -
She felt the weight of the every- other-weekend commute for someone she had been dating almost a year was going to have to move forward or Jenn was considering moving on.

Blink – I noticed the discrepancies above. Maybe Jennifer and Rob were having a hard time reconciling what they wanted. Could it be that she told him she was going to bed, but may have gone out?

I think that is a definite possibility.
    B

  18. luckyLou says:

Blink, you say she had a panic buzzer – but did you also say her system was temporarily disabled? Perhaps I read that incorrectly.

The intrusion alarm was disabled for Logan, and it was disabled when the family arrived around 1:30.
There is evidence Jenn used it, so we do not know if she set it when she was at home, etc.

The panic buzzer went directly to property management and could not be disarmed.
    B

  19. Rose says:

learning the ping location of her cell (the gym or adjacent club?) would say a lot.
    can understand case sensitivity
wonder though if she was charging it at work during the day, unusually due to her trip, and forgot it when she left, & later went back to work to get it as many would do. around here, no one would use their landline, only their cell, if it was with them.

Nope, was on the phone all the way home.
    B

  20. luckyLou says:

Is it possible she left on her own accord to meet Campos at the office? He calls to say he forgot something? She took her briefcase. Maybe he says he can’t get ahold of Adam and needs her help. Didn’t tell boyfriend b/c he was aware of Campos harassing Jen ad he would be annoyed? I can’t imagine she would knowingly meet him at a bar alone that late – but the office or some other work related location, yes. She’s in her twenties, not teens and she is smart and has some intuition. I don’t think she would go out with him alone after the behaviors he exhibited. Plus she took her briefcase, but not a purse? I definitely think she left on her own that night. That area is high crime – maybe – you have to be alert – but it’s not bad enough that you wouldn’t leave your condo at night. The only way I see her going out to meet him at a bar or restaurant is if, in my opinion, he lied and said other people were coming. He has to have called, emailed or texted to say he needed her help for some reason. Does the phone charger look like it could have been used for anything other than charging a phone, ie. strangulation? It would be slightly less coiled, I would think. Blink – is there a reason the cord on the gear shift bothers you?

Yes. The power source for it was unplugged and Jenn’s sunglasses were pricey and not in the overhead console. Almost like what I do when I clean my car if anything is on the seat or I want to take in the house, I put it there while I clean and vaccum.

    Jennifer Kesse Thoughts Part 1:
First B let me say what a wonderful article. I missed this case and was beyond shocked to learn of the missteps of OPD, and the resulting agony for a family desperately seeking their beautiful daughter/sister.
It’s obviously a personal crime, and had it been handled professionally would have resulted in a quick arrest, recovery and successful prosecution, IMHO.
I reread your article 4 times and each time something new jumped out at me and gave me another “WTF” moment. Heart wrenching to say the least.
JC was the major contributor to my “WTFs”, starting with his strange behavior toward Jenn, the very uncomfortable relationship with “Adam”, the trip to “Adam’s” brother’s condo, JC’s comments concerning Jenn’s horrific demise, and ending with his reaching out to Jenn’s mom with an offer of the alleged Christmas gift.
To me it’s obvious the “gift” meant a lot to him – criminal profiling 101 says that’s a major clue, along with the other incidents discussed here.
I pray for Joyce, Drew and Logan and for OPD and FDLE to find a renewed sense of hope and determination to solve this case. I agree it’s very solvable!

When Drew first told me about the co-worker paying too much attention, it raised my hink of course, but it is my job to remain objective, and I had no idea what his position was, etc-

After several interviews, I knew Mr. Campos was likely that guy.

You read for yourself what occurred when I simply asked if Mr. Campos’s name was familiar and you can imagine our conversation when he asked me the “why do you ask?”

What is very important to keep in context is that at the time he returned the Christmas ball (gift) to the Kesse’s, he was UNAWARE that “Adam” heard the confrontation that Monday morning, but he might have been aware that other co-workers had suspicions.

Several of Jenn’s colleagues were at this event, and he was there with them, and did so in full view of them.

You know, the ole.. if anything was going on, or I had any involvement, would I walk up to them, introduce myself and open that can, especially in front of my bosses?

    Concerning.

    B

  23. Jane says:

I know there was a question of a possible 2nd set of keys. Could someone have gotten to an extra set, driven to her condo and set off her car alarm? If this were the case, I might forget safety and fly out the door to disarm alarm so as not to wake neighbors.

  24. pale rider says:

    Jennifer Part 2:

I had to go back and read this again.

So Jenn’s last cell ping was @ 10:40pm. That speaks volumes to me. If this was personal, as I suspect, and Jenn did leave that night, that means she was meeting someone or someone showed up at her place. Anything else would be too coincidental and random.

This brings me to the security alarm. If Jenn did go out, I would think she’d set that alarm. Now she may have thought she would only be gone a short while, and maybe not too far away, so…..she didn’t bother?

Another possibility is someone came to her door; someone she “knew”, and she either let them in or went out to speak with them, again thinking it wouldn’t be for long.

But the missing heels bother me. Why are they gone?

I can understand the glasses (kind of), the pjs, the damp towel. She may just have been too tired from her trip and working a full day to bother picking up.

My daughter wears contacts, and when she gets home she leaves them in till bedtime most days. She wears her glasses during weekends unless she’s going out.

So was Jenn still clothed in her work attire @ almost 11pm if she were in for the night? My daughter would not be.

The man’s sweater in the hamper is something else altogether.

  25. Titch says:

Blink, I keep getting stuck on her snakeskin pumps. Do you have any info on them? If not, could you possible get it from one of her contacts? I’m wondering if they were real or patterned leather. Leather might stretch but it’s not as delicate as what real snakeskin is. It was moist that night, so why would she wear her taupe snakeskin pumps put anywhere? The scales would have curled up, not right away but would have given time. She’d have known this. Even if they’re sprayed & treated with weatherproofing spray, she wouldn’t have worn them in moist weather. Maybe she wore flip flops & packed her pumps to put on when she got to wherever she was headed…if in fact she was even headed out anywhere.

Everytime I think of her favorite pumps I’m reminded of that shoe fetish that creep had in There’s Something About Mary. Sorry for the humor but ewww. Anyway, checkout a search for dirty or grungy socks on eBay sometime. It’s amazing that there’s loonies out there that pay $200 or more for disgusting smelly socks that a gorgeous guy in boxers is wearing. Nasty. I saw this when searching for state wrestling singlets for my son. There’s some strange people in this world! That’s a fo sho!

  26. Titch says:

    Not her, your contacts. Sorry.

  27. Ode says:

Some thoughts. The DVD for her bedroom was left in the car. Her boyfriend had given it to her. She may have got out of the shower and realized she had not brought it in. She may have put her clothes back on to get it. It is hard to believe she would strap it in to her car yet leave it in the car to be stolen. Did she have any discussion with Rob about the DVD player that night she was home. After her shower if she was going to watch tv before bed this may have triggered her memory about the DVD player. I wonder if they had any DVD’s made on vacation. She may have wanted to watch it. Did Rob give her the DVD player for that reason? She must have had a tv in the bedroom since the DVD was for that room. Could she had caught someone trying to steal the DVD that night? Were there any other reports of break ins of cars days before in her area? She could have been laying in bed while talking on the phone. Was there a phone next to her bed? The pumps may have been in the car the entire time and she had her flip flops on when she left the apartment to get the DVD. I also wonder if she played her Ipod in the car by plugging it in to the where she would charge her phone and perhaps that was why her phone charger was wrapped around the gear shift. Was Jennifer known to take showers in the evening or in the morning. I am strictly a morning shower yet I know many who prefer evenings. Did she have a normal morning routine and how early did she get up and ready.

Where was her make-up tooth brush etc. She must have used it at her boyfriends before work. You said she was living out of her briefcase. Did they find her tooth brush and if so was it wet? Was there any signs her briefcase ever made it into the condo? Was there a make-up bag found in the duffle bag or in her bathroom?

Last question where was the alcohol she bought and was it all accounted for?

    Makeup on the vanity

Played ipod in the car, to my knowledge, that cordage was not found, the ipod is missing.

Alcohol was accounted for. Also, it is noteworthy that what she purchased was at the condo, ergo- she did not bring any back for anyone at work.

    B

I wish I could be more definitive- we just don’t know
    B

  28. Titch says:

I don’t believe she was headed out anywhere. She just got back from a long island get away with her bf, stayed at his house & left the next morning to go straight to work, left work & went back to her condo. All that driving on top of vacation & work would make me wanna sleep & relax when I got home. The vacation determined they were gonna go the extra step, so that’s a weight lifted in her mind. To have to think & talk about something so important would make her wanna rest as well. I think she went outside to retrieve the rest of her things from her car & was taken by surprise by someone that was pizzed enough to follow her home (or know she’d be home). Maybe her other stiff is missing bc it links her perp to her & the perp knows this. Maybe her pumps had his DNA on them bc he hit her with them or something. I just don’t see her getting all dolled up to go out after such a long weekend & an argument, most especially wearing her snakeskin pumps.

  29. Titch says:

If it’s not Campos, I’ll bet it’s someone from her job. I think you hit the nail on the head, though.

  30. luckyLou says:

Is it possible he was stalking her regularly? I def think she came home from work, maybe hung out on her bed for a rest or to watch tv, showered, changed and left on her own accord that night. Maybe he was stalking her at a point that he wanted her to finally see him? She sees him in the parking lot or after being followed and it is too late to go back to her apartment. She was heading to Publix or Whole Foods or Target and never makes it there. And/or he left work after she did and he goes and drinks. He has either been drinking and stalks her or has been drinking and calls her for a ride “home”. makes a pass at her, she turns him down and he snaps. Didn’t intend to kill her. Has only a number of hours before daylight and before showing up at work to try and clean up mess he accidentally created so he has to come up with a short-term plan to cover his tracks. If it was Campos, unless there is something we don’t know about him in his past, it isn’t like he is an expert at this – he can’t be that clever – he’s got to think on his feet and go places he knows that aren’t too far away.

Keep in mind, snakeskin boots are not as delicate as pumps. With the boots, the scales need to be wiped down, across the “grain” of how the scales lay in order to get any dirt or dust that lies underneath – after every single time they’re worn. Otherwise they’ll get stained. They also need a certain spray for exotics once a month in order to preserve the skin’s integrity. Pumps worn in rain, even if waterproofed, is not a good thing to do be moisture will get inside of the shoe & destroy the adhesive from the inside out. If she wore them during work, then the shoes would be fine for the fact she’s inside…but I promise you if she loved those shoes as much as Joyce says she did then she had to have placed them in something for protection from the elements.

Forgive me if this offends but I just don’t see her making a fake pair of snakeskin pumps from Payless her favorite shoes, so chances are these are authentic or a high grade leather embellished pump. I’ll bet she paid a decent penny for them bc she’s buying comfort & classic. She’s not frivolous.

    Where are her shoes?

  32. Edward says:

Black Pearl: You always have great thought..
I had not considered a reason for talking and walking out like that at the office. What you wrote makes sense to me and I could see her doing that. In that thought, She was aware of Campos and avoiding his aggressive behavior.
Did she consider that he might come to her home with that behavior ?

  33. Titch says:

Oops, meant to add that I think they’re high grade leather embellished with authentic snakeskin pumps. Otherwise, why would she make them her favorite? Considering she’s classic by nature with her wardrobe choices, chances are she’s the same kind of shopper with her shoes. I’m like this: I’d rather pay good money fir nod pair of good shoes rather than a piddley sum for 3 pair of cheap shoes. I’ve found by experience that better quality lasts alot longer than less expensive cheaply made shoes.

They were nine west. In a complete co ink y dink- I was going through old shoe boxes in my wardrobe last Tuesday where I keep some of my dressier things. With teens and sports and changing trends I do not get to rifle through it often, lol.

However, I did, and I happened to come upon a pair of snakeskin slingbacks I purchased in Montreal in November 2005- NINE WEST. I do not know when Jenn purchased hers, but if hers were relatively new, I would have to think they were of a similar design to my slingbacks. They are snakeskin and were above the usual Nine West price point because of it- and I recall getting them at a really good sale to be around $100. I could easily see how they would be her fave, and also the flips to and from the car.

Looks like others at the office may know more then they are telling in that the relationship between Jennifer and Campos may have been thicker then considered.
His wife could be a key. Where was he that night to the next day ?
Where was she “his wife” that night to the next morning ?

His arrest record shows he refused to sign the citation..
    A NonViolent arrest.

  35. marnie says:

sounds like the ping will be key. i understand the need to keep it confidential for now, and the rest is speculation on my part, not research. i wonder if she knew he had been in jail just before her trip, and also, if that citation was in any way connected to her as someone else mentioned, for example, was he stalking her when it happened? it just seems his anger was escalating that week, and it’s unreal how he confronted her upon her return.

it’s just sad, she was so happy about her trip and her future, and he was attacking her for it. just get that creepy feeling of stalking that night, or as someone else just mentioned, add drinking into the mix, the ruminating, and anything could have happened.

my youngest daughter is 24 so maybe that is why i am so interested in the details that led up to her dissapearance and what could have gone wrong. interesting point about him calling her with the ploy that he needed a ride. seems she was trying her best to handle a bad situation with him without letting it affect her job.

looking forward to the other surprises that will be unleashed and praying for her family and that she will be returned to them.

  36. Titch says:

Also, in case the Kesse’s reads here, I’d like them to know that there’s sooo many people that have spiritually adopted Jenn. We’ve researched & researched. We’ve pulled so much info that it’s mind numbing to think this girl could have gotten mad & went out to release some steam. Nothing in Jenn’s background points to her ever behaving like that…not that it would be bad, just that she doesn’t appear to be the type of person that would be mad enough to go out & tie one on iykwim. About 6 months into her disappearance, some kind of deranged idiot posted nasty disingenuous comments on her parent’s missing site. They made a couple disparaging remarks. I myself looked & looked for trash on her & there simply isn’t any. Jenn’s a good girl, does things the right way, respects herself as well as others, is responsible, etc.

I think she had a stalker that waited by her car, in his own vehicle, and I believe it’s somebody that knew her well…possibly somebody that couldn’t handle the knowledge that she’d never be his.

The Kesse’s read here, they are the most humbled and gracious of families, and I can tell you from the bottom of their hearts that they appreciate the advocacy of Jennifer, and of them.

A more committed set of parents in this nightmare you will not meet.

It is my opinion this case will be solved, and they will recover their daughter and it will be because they would never allow any other outcome.

Did investigators look through video of her whole work day? If not then why?

  38. luckyLou says:

@pale rider. Good point on the alarm not being set, although if someone showed up at her apartment and there are no signs of a struggle, why wouldn’t she either set it before leaving or hit the panic alarm? Maybe she left on her own accord to get stuff from her car or she only sets it at night when she is at home alone in bed? I do think Campos could have hit his breaking point if he felt like his opportunities for “courting” Jennifer were disappearing, ie. she has indicated that not only did she have a good time on her trip, but she will either be moving to South Florida or her boyfriend will be moving in with her. His window of opportunity is disappearing.

  39. luckyLou says:

Are there any coworkers other than Campos that show signs of being a sociopath?

In the early days I was involved in debating all the angles and possible scenarios on a couple of the forums that existed in 2006.

I must be honest and state I have been left reeling by the disclosure of Jennifer’s cell pinging from outside her condo at 10:40pm.
For me just the fact the cell wasn’t ‘home’ was a shock. It wasn’t in the script so to speak.

Previously I posted the opinion ‘there may be more surprises to come.’
I believe the word ‘surprise’ is a little soft and the word ‘shock’ is more suitable.

In the digital world we all use I thought I had got to know some of the central characters in this enigma reasonably well.
Today I feel like I’m back at square one.

    COPIED FROM ABOVE
Campos confronted her about where she was and who she was with.  Jenn responded she had a fantastic time, loved it and hated to leave; Campos was audibly and visibly perturbed.  At no time did either become aware that Adam overheard the exchange.

    —————————

So she was not asked about her trip but confronted about it, and he was obviously upset. It’s hard to know her tone, but from the above it seems she really put it in his face. So maybe she got upset too and this confrontation turned into an argument?

    Jennifer part 3:

I’m curious to know if Jenn got around to telling anyone @ work her last day that she and Rob had decided to take the next step in their relationship.

An overly ardent suitor might see that as a need to make a move in a last ditch effort to persuade her to reconsider.

Did she ever mention to anyone that she was creeped out by JC’s attentions, perhaps suggest sexual harassment to her supervisor?

It’s way too late to check video surveillance of traffic cams, banks, stores of course. Pity, no telling what evidence those tapes might have rendered, especially concerning her vehicle.

  43. Cindy says:

So, if we think we know the “who” and “why” that did this crime, then the “where” is the biggest missing piece of the puzzle. What would make Jenn leave her condo that late at night? Hunger or retrieving something from her car??? What exactly does it mean when a phone pings – I’m guessing that she eitehr received or made a call or text…right??? Why doesn’t the cell phone company have records or did I miss that info and they do. Does Johnny Campos have an alibi?
Another thing, I’ve worked in an office for years, and believe me when someone is putting the moves on another employee, everyone knows about it, as we always said “the walls have ears”. So, why the silence from her fellow employees for years, intimidation, fear, or just didn’t want to get involved???

    Very interesting, luckylou!

Has anyone asked Mrs. C if JC was out late that night?????

  45. pale rider says:

I could easily see how they would be her fave, and also the flips to and from the car.

Yep, I do that all the time with my very good shoes. Flips or slips till I get where I’m going.

I too have a fave pair of snakeskin pumps bought in 2004-2005. They’re still like new.

Jenn would have babied her prized possessions because she worked so hard to get them, and well, she was just that kind of person.

So where the hell are they???

If . . . if obsessed, it’s a way of inserting, ingratiating, keeping one’s self in another’s life . . . and yes, via family and with an audience.

Campos likes to give things as gifts to buy affection. So possibly he gave the Pumps to his wife… He never thought somebody would note them as missing.

  48. connie says:

If I was a betting woman, I would bet that Campos and/or his wife lured her out some way. Jenn was a polite young lady and he knew that so why not take advantage of that trait. So tragic.

I have seen no evidence whatsoever that Mrs. Campos knew Jennifer, or was aware of Mr. Campos’s behavior toward her at work or other. I would like to stick to factual information; I have a concern about the guilty by associations thing.

Great work Blink. I’m curious if much effort has been put in to finding out Mr. Campos’s prior history in regards to relationships with other female employees of the company, his temperament, past employers and reasons for termination etc. Obviously it appears he has a temper (ripping up a citation). It’d also be interesting to see what the state of his relationship with his wife is. If neighbors have heard fighting, seen him drinking or come home late after work hours typically or if he’s known to have an aggressive, frustrated or bipolar personality type. Basically building a sense of what this guy is like.

It has. I am limited in what is verifiable and publishable.

With so much going on in Jen’s life – both personal and professional, I would think she would have confided in a close friend. I’m curious what she did on her last lunch hour. I would have definitely called my best friend and blabbed away about my trip and future plans. I also would waste no time telling friends about some freak chasing me around at work or anywhere maybe moreso out of annoyance than fear. I know it was all mentioned to family but maybe there is an unedited version that was shared with a buddy. I remember these words from somewhere “I don’t want to hear that. I’m your parent, not your best friend.”
