Jennifer Kesse Breaking News: Witness Statement Points To Someone At Work- Kesse Family and OPD Press Conference Scheduled

Update-Podcast of Interview with DANA PRETZER

…”Your daughter seems to have vanished.  We do not know how or why, and we really have nothing to go on.”

If you can possibly imagine hearing those words, which is exactly what Drew and Joyce Kesse were told about their missing daughter Jennifer in 2010.   After an exhaustive and fruitless 4 + years searching for the 24 year old enterprising  analyst for Central Florida Investments, the very agency tasked with reviewing the case gave the Kesse’s their latest emotional contusion.

…”I begged for an FBI review of the case, but at the time, I did not know that only meant that they would review the case and provide recommendations.  I had always been told that the FBI was the best investigators out there.  Those words rendered us despondent yet again.”- Drew Kesse

Island  Girl

Jenn Kesse was in love.   At 24, she owned her condo, made an excellent living just 2 years out of college and was contemplating the “big step” with her boyfriend of one year,  Rob Allen.

Rob, an Englishman, lived in South Florida about two hours away from Jennifer. He had his own career successes and a prior marriage that left him gun shy.

Personal Photo

The couple  was at a crossroads, and the impromptu trip to St. Croix spent with friends and members of Rob’s family was an important one for the relationship.

Jenn phoned her family from the island, and was jubilant.

“…Dad, what kind of rum do you drink- I am in the shop and I don’t and I am in the store here and I want to bring you back something ..”

“Why are you calling me on your vacation and you do not need to bring us anything go enjoy yourself..”, Drew told his thoughtful first born.

While she was away, with her permission,  Jennifer’s younger brother Logan Kesse was enjoying a male bonding endeavor at big sisters new condo in Orlando.  Jenn gave Logan a set of keys over Christmas.

Logan’s posse et al traveled from the family home in Bradenton and arrived Friday January 20th.

The weekend was a great time had by all,  the condo was restored to its pre-frat status and the worst kerfuffle was that Travis Bourguignon,  childhood friend of both Jennifer and Logan, absently left his new work- issued cell  behind.

Jenn and Rob returned to his home via Miami due to flight cancellations Sunday evening.

Jenn left Ft. Lauderdale straightaway Monday morning at 6am for the commute to her job in Ocoee.

She arrives by 8 , works a full day and is walking out of the building with her supervisor, John Willman, when she rings her family from her cell.

At 6:15 PM   Jenn  is on her cell with Mom and Dad while leaving the office.  Logan chimes in to ask sis to FedEx Travis’s phone as he needs it for work.  Jenn commits to sending it overnight the following day, she reminds him she had not even been back to the condo to locate it yet.

Enroute to her condo at Mosaic at Millenia Jenn was gushing about her trip as each family member passed the phone.

This conversation will be the last time Jennifer’s family heard her voice.

As often happens during Caribbean rendezvous- things gelled for the couple, and they decided that they wanted to take the next steps and move in together.   The “who and the where” to be decided upon return to their respective “real worlds”.  The conversation about the “real world” began as Jenn spoke to Rob shortly after her family; the couple ended up in the familiar back and forth regarding who would have the easiest move and so forth.

At 9:57PM Jenn speaks to Rob on her landline  for the last time.

When Jenn misses an 11:15 am meeting the following Tuesday morning,  Joyce Kesse gets a call that Jenn did not make  it in,  and as every Mother very close to their daughter does,  she KNEW.

Joyce Kesse knew immediately her child was in some sort of distress and in minutes had mobilized the family convoy to Orlando.  They arrived at approximately 1:30 after calling the manager on the way and learning Jenn’s car was not there.

The Kesse’s would not leave their missing daughter’s home for 8 months as it became the “Find Jennifer Kesse” headquarters.

Upon arrival, Logan Kesse began banging and kicking doors in the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex he had spent last weekend.   With very little occupancy came scant tenants, and even less information.

The Kesse’s discovered Jennifer’s shower appeared to be wet, a damp towel draped over the dryer, and her bed appeared as if she slept on one side with outfits described as “suitable for work”  draped on the other.

Jenn’s duffle from her trip lay unpacked in the foyer. The pepper spray she had to remove from her keys due to flight regulations lay on the dresser she restored herself.

Her blow-dryer was on the vanity, her pj’s lay on the bath mat outside of the shower, the mail she retrieved when she got home from work  stacked neatly on her counter.

3537 Conroy, Unit #2226  once the proud accomplishment of a beautiful and driven young woman, became a crime scene.

Perhaps.

Victimology 101- Low Risk

Jennifer Kesse was very close with her entire family, but she was a true Daddy’s girl.  Mom and Dad mentored her through her car and home purchases, and Drew Kesse managed the punch list of her newly constructed abode.  He made her ask the condo workers in her condo to put the white paint for the crown molding  in a Tupperware for him and he would paint it himself- it was taking so long.   Or, Dad and Mom welcomed the excuse to come and see her.

Jenn was most uncomfortable with the amount of landscapers and workers around the complex on a daily basis and shared those concerns openly.

Photobucket User Photo

What Jennifer was not open about and known only to her family and close friends, was that she was a four year Spanish major and she was beyond fluent.

She knew what sorts of misogynistic jeers were being shared between a sneering worker or two.

Jenn shared a great deal of personal and romantic information with her parents by all accounts and were in frequent daily contact.  When Jenn  told Drew she expressed her feelings of love to Rob Allen, and he did not “say it back”,  she felt hurt.  The trip with him was a definite test.

She felt the weight of the every- other-weekend commute for someone she had been dating almost a year was going to have to move forward or Jenn was considering moving on.

Jenn had also been approached by a vendor turned personal friend who was working with her to launch the companies new debit system- to consider going out on a romantic date with him.

Scott Stryker would have to cool his jets for now.  Jennifer told him while they had a business relationship and she was currently in one , there was no chance of anything more.

In another Dad-Daughter chat,  Jenn told Drew that she was having an issue with a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.  Jenn asked her dad his thoughts about the concept of just going out to lunch with a person to tell them that you were not interested in them.   Was that was a kinder option than just saying no, where she stood to risk an interpersonal situation she did not want?  Jenn did not disclose that her office admirer was married with children.   Drew believes that fact may have raised some necessary red flags for him back then.

Drew advised Jennifer not to go on any outing that might be perceived as a  date, but to agree to lunch and have the conversation in a lighter setting, and that was the best she could do.  In a follow up discussion between the two,  Jenn told Drew she had done just that and it went fine.

Commensurate Panic

“She had a fight with her boyfriend, she took off, happens all the time, she will be back in a couple hours.- OPD detective”

The Kesse’s knew better.  Rob Allen and Jenn’s best friend Lauren were at her condo by the afternoon and the people that knew her better than anyone were terrified; Jennifer was in trouble and panic set in.

While it was unknown until discovered 2 days later, a closed circuit camera catches an unknown suspect parking her 2004 black Chevy Malibu in the visitor spot at the Huntingdon On The Green apartments, approximately 1.2 miles away from her condo, at noon.

At approximately 7PM a missing person report was filed for Jennifer Joyce Kesse and a BOLO was dispatched by Orlando Police Department for her car.

On January 24, 2012 Jennifer Kesse will be missing for 6 years.  In that time she has had a dozen detectives working on her case, it has been transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Kesse’s request, and her case is being reviewed by the 8th review team tomorrow morning followed by a press conference arranged by Orlando Police Department and FDLE.

There have been numerous  searches,  both organized by the Kesse’s efforts as well as law enforcement which have not yielded a shred of evidence associated with Jennifer Kesse.  Last week was the largest search effort to date.

This is largely due to the fact that the 2 detectives originally assigned to the case who retired on the same day 9 months in, never kept a single note.  Not even a water-stained cocktail napkin with a smeared phone number. Nada.

Prevailing Theories For The Weary

Because Jennifer appeared to have slept in her bed and got ready for work, the prevailing theory has always been that she “at least got out the door” the morning of Tuesday January 24 and was abducted prior to getting to her car.

Water droplets in the tub at 1:30 PM notwithstanding,  I have never understood why investigators seemed to be so married to this theory.  In fact, in the few years I have known Drew Kesse  through our respective advocacy work and mutual associations,  it was not until a few months ago we ever discussed Jennifer’s case for that very reason.

I told Drew I would absolutely be willing to have my team’s resources look into Jenn’s case,  but to be honest, I really didn’t believe I could offer any insights as I did not subscribe to the prevailing theory in the case.  I have worked on cases before where that has been the situation and found it futile in progressing leads, which is of course is the goal.

The last thing I want to do is upset the apple cart, and in my mind, this is a personal crime, not a random construction person or landscaper.  The odds of Jennifer being abducted by a stranger in broad daylight at that hour, in full view of a handful of people in visual proximity, carrying her keys and a briefcase at her size, and with her physical strength does not jibe for me.     It also does not even begin to touch the statistics that agree with my position.

I told Drew, “I really think it is likely someone Jennifer knew.  It might be someone she did not know well, or their intentions certainly, but everything I have ever reviewed on the case has not excluded that possibility for me.   Statistically speaking alone,  if this is a homicide case, and preliminarily I do believe that is the most likely scenario- there is a greater than 90% chance she knew her killer.

Jenn is a low risk victim for a random and stranger perpetrated abduction, period.

His response to me was crisp.  “Christina,  I do not care about theories or whose they are, I just do not want to go in the ground without knowing what happened to my daughter- if you have a different thought or approach,  there is nobody closed off to any possibility.  We just want her found,  it will be six years of Hell, and she deserves to come home.”

For the last 3 months the investigative team at www.blinkoncrime.com has analyzed thousands of documents, conducted numerous interviews of sources both willing and unwilling to discuss her case publicly in conjunction with on-location review.

Separating the wheat from the chaff would not come easy.  But wheat we found.

Exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com,  all new facts in Jennifer’s disappearance are marked with an asterisk.

Random Abduction In Open Stairwell

Despite the fact that there were literally over 100 different workers on site, all of which would have been there by 7am when the bulk of the workday started for landscapers and contractors, neither saw nor heard anything unusual that morning.  In fact, not one person interviewed remembers seeing Jennifer’s car* that morning upon arrival.

The door to Jennifer’s condo was locked with no sign of forced entry or any sort of scuffle in her home.  Dishes in the dishwasher were clean*, and likely ran by Logan when he left, no dishes in the sink.  (Editors Note: If you have not already, run your shower for 15 minutes at the showerhead trajectory of a 5’8” tall person and keep track of the time you can say with certainty you do not find water droplets.  It should be noted of course that the assumption continues to be made that it was Jenn that actually showered.)

To my knowledge the only conclusive fact about when Jennifer Kesse was last in her apartment is that she spoke to Rob Allen on her landline to his cell phone at 9:57PM.

Well, that, and her phone was NOT in it* at 10:40PM when it’s power source was removed after pinging in a location intentionally being withheld by www.blinkoncrime.com.

Jenn’s condo was equipped with a working intrusion alarm*.  She had disarmed it because Logan was visiting for the weekend.  It was not* armed when the family arrived the afternoon she was discovered missing.

According to a source inside the management company servicing Mosaic at the time, they have never been asked to produce any sort of reporting* as to its settings by Orlando Police (OPD).

In a conversation with the condo’s current owner, those records would no longer be available as of the date of this writing.

The ancillary objects pointing to Jennifer sleeping in her condo that night could just as easily reflect that she took a nap, showered and went out, or was roused from her bed by an unexpected visitor known to her.

Jennifer’s glasses* were located in the bathroom, not next to her bed.

Missing from her closet are her favorite taupe snake print pumps*

Found in Jennifer’s hamper was a man’s sweater* that does not belong to any known male associates of hers and is believed to fit no larger than a medium build individual.

Previously thought to be missing but discovered after being returned to the Kesse’s by OPD years later, was her brown pocketbook* she used on her trip.  It had been packed in the duffel bag located on the floor in the foyer.

There were 2 workers that had access to work orders inside Jenn’s condo*.  Both men were interviewed, agreed to take polygraph tests administered by the FBI and were subsequently cleared.*   The identities of those individuals did not produce any criminal records.

To date, Jennifer’s keys, wallet, iPod, LG phone and briefcase are missing.  Travis Bourgignion’s phone has never been recovered and pings from his phone confirm it ran out of power over the weekend.*

2004 Chevrolet Malibu

#2226 parking spaces was located to the rear of the building which allowed those familiar with the complex to access the back entrance, which was not enclosed due to the construction.

Jennifer used the front entrance* that evening when returning from work to pick up her mail on the way in.

There was no sign of any foul play in either the exterior or interior of Jenn’s car.

Found on the floor of the front passenger side of her car were the flip flops she wore home from work that afternoon as well as a pair she wore in St. Croix.* Also found* were aspirin, her broken mail key, a business card, her sunglasses and cell charger (not plugged in and wrapped around the gear shift).

A DVD player for her bedroom given to her by Rob Allen and strapped in with the seatbelt was located in the backseat.

The Malibu was found locked in the lot of The Huntingdon On The Green apartments on January 26th.

It was removed at the request of OPD by a flatbed tow truck prior to CST processing, and prior to any assessment as to whether or not it was in working condition or impaired in some way, causing Jenn to need assistance.

As it was equipped with coded keys*, the suspect who parked it had to have Jennifer’s original key. Attempting to use a spare  would have been rendered it inoperable.

Drew Kesse was never asked to provide a second coded key in his possession at the home in Bradenton so it is unclear how OPD was able to gain access and perform any necessary diagnostics.

Fatal Familiarity?

Distrust all those who love you extremely upon a very slight acquaintance and without any visible reason.  – Lord Chesterfield

It is ironic that the initial LE theory was that Jenn was essentially pitching a fit over a boyfriend, but spent the bulk of early efforts running down the potential illegal alien and day-labor dujour angles.

The usual suspects were easy to clear- Rob’s cell was at his home and then work, where he was, but he agreed to and passed a polygraph test.   Matthew Sullivan, the former boyfriend who was so devastated at the news of Jennifer’s disappearance he drank himself senseless for two weeks and was described as “inconsolable”-cleared.  Vendors- cleared.   Any and all known male associates-cleared.

Astonishingly, it was not until almost 3 and half years after Jennifer Kesse disappeared that the first of Jenn’s co-workers were interviewed.   You read that sentence correctly.

Connections to completely unassociated cases (Grinstead) and abduction by a Dubai sheik theories were apparently the priority.   Apparently the Liam Neeson blockbuster “Taken” was at least partially inspired on the publicly known aspects of Jenn’s case as the Kesse’s received a call from one of the movie’s producers.

Occam and the good men and women of OPD assigned to this case are strangers, I fear.

In their defense, and I guess also by default, playing the hand they were dealt by the early detectives who apparently had developed their own secret decoder implements without sharing, was the wrong kind of flush.

As I began my interviews among colleagues of Jenn’s that would speak to me on the condition of anonymity only, I was repeatedly asked if I spoke to an individual by the name of Johnny Campos*.

In a subsequent follow up interview with Drew Kesse, I asked him if he was familiar with that name.

“Yes, that is the guy I told you about that Jenn said was asking her out constantly and I told her to have lunch with and let him down easy that way instead of a date.”

“I  remember because I asked her to repeat his name.  I thought it odd for an adult businessman to go by the name “Johnny” at the office.   I can’t remember what year, I think it was about 2 years ago, Joyce and I were at one of our sponsored events at the Mall and he introduced himself.”

I said, He introduced himself to you?

“Not to me, I was talking, but I saw him.  He walked up to Joyce and said that he had worked with Jenn and that before she went missing the office had a secret Santa exchange where he got her name.”

“He bought her this ornament type thing, really beautiful, in a red velvet box thingie or stand that sat on her desk.”

I said,  Didn’t OPD secure the things from her cube?

He answered, “I have no idea, he just said she kept it on her desk and he thought we should have it.”

Further interviews and  investigation led me to Campos’s subordinate, who knew both Johnny Campos and Jenn Kesse.

In fact, he was stationed in the cubicle next to Jenn and what I learned next will undoubtedly be the WTF moment in this case.

Because of the open investigation and his status as a possible material witness, I will refer to him as Adam Frank, which is not his real name.  Frank’s statements to me have been independently verified through multiple sources or you would not be reading them here.

Adam had been working for Central Florida Investments for eight years before being fired for asking his bosses to investigate the alleged harassment perpetrated against him by his supervisor, Johnny Campos, since the day Jennifer Kesse disappeared.  He believed it was because he knew specifics about them, and for what he told Orlando Police and subsequently the FBI, which was corroborated by the polygraph he requested to take.

After his superiors had met with OPD weeks earlier, In May 2009 Adam Frank received a subpoena served to him at the office in full view of his peers, to meet with FDLE the following week.

He told them the following (notes from our interview):

He was friends with Johnny.   One time when he said to Jennifer in an email about work, but wrote at the last line she looked nice today,  Johnny asked him why he would say that to her,  was he interested in her?  Adam told him that he was just being nice and asked him how he knew about it in the first place. Campos ignored the question.   On another occasion,  he had walked past Campos and Jenn in the hallway and they were laughing.  He thought it was about him because of the email so he asked them, both replied absolutely no, and shared whatever they were laughing about; alleviating Frank’s angst.

It was short-lived,  on Friday January 20th, upon learning of Jenn’s impromptu trip with her boyfriend, Campos was bending Adam’s ear like a wanna be jealous boyfriend.   Campos told him that Jenn was a jerk for dating that Brit a-hole and other fill in the blank derogatory insults.  Adam was uncomfortable and reminded Campos that Campos was a married man and he did not want anything to do with the conversation or get in the middle of whatever was going on; he needed his job.

Johnny Alberto Campos Facebook Pic

On Monday morning January 23rd, around 8am, Adam overhears Campos confront Jenn upon her return while in his cubicle, unbeknownst to them.

While I have the full statement of what was said between the two,  in the interest of preserving case sensitive information I will provide a summary.

Campos confronted her about where she was and who she was with.  Jenn responded she had a fantastic time, loved it and hated to leave; Campos was audibly and visibly perturbed.  At no time did either become aware that Adam overheard the exchange.

At least not until he met with OPD for the second time in 2009 where they informed Adam that Campos had been interviewed based on his information.   At this time, everything made sense to Adam as to what was going on since the day Jennifer disappeared.

When Campos showed up for work around noon * on Tuesday January 24th appearing overtly nervous and pacing around,  Frank thought he was acting strangely, but it did not escalate to “scary” until a few hours later where it was learned through the grapevine that Jenn Kesse might have been abducted.  Campos is a supervisor and therefore not required to keep a timecard.

The next day, Wednesday January 25th,  if you can believe it, proved to be even stranger.

Johnny Campos asks Adam to drive the pair to the new Westgate office at Lake Eleanor.  Adam thought it bizarre since it was not either man’s responsibility to do such, but agreed.

It is not clear if Campos was without his 2000 blue Ford Taurus that day.  On the way, Campos asked Adam how far his brother lived from there, the one with the vacant apartment next to his and if they could stop there and ask him if he heard anything.

During the drive Campos told Adam wherever she (Jenn) was, “she was likely eaten up by alligators already.

Adam asked him not to say such things- Campos repeated it.

Adam and Campos stopped in at the lake Eleanor office , said hello to a few colleagues and headed back.

Over the next four years, until Adam Frank had the second meeting at HIS request with the FBI in an attempt to further allegations he felt were not being taken seriously by OPD, he claims Campos harassed him on the job relentlessly.  Things were about to get worse.  The FBI advised him if he was having problems at work over the issue, he should go to his superiors.

On January 19  2011, he did.  In three subsequent internal meetings with varying levels of seniority Adam repeated his story about his treatment by his immediate supervisor and concerns for his physical safety if Campos was involved in what happened to Jennifer Kesse.  He finally requested a meeting with John Willman and told him the events he was going through were making him physically ill and asked for his help to review and or expedite his complaint.

Three days later,  Adam received a call from Willman where he told him his issues with Campos and the Kesse case were not good for the company and he would be terminated effective immediately.  At no time was Frank ever told the status or outcome of his complaint against Campos.  Johnny Campos is the only contemporary of Jennifer’s to maintain his position to date.  Attempts to reach Mr. Campos and Mr. Willman for comment were not returned.

Ironically, Adam Frank files a grievance against Johnny Campos 5 years to the day Campos returned to CFI after a short stint in Lake County jail for ripping up a citation the morning of January 16th.

Campos was remanded to Lake County jail on bond, and after his wife posted the required $500  and a brief appearance on the 18th returned to work on the first day Jennifer Kesse was off; likely learning about her departure then.

The only known suspect in the disappearance is the individual that was recorded parking her vehicle.

The Kesse’s have been invited to a review of Jennifer’s case tomorrow morning at 9am, followed by the invitation to local media to ask questions on the status of the case from OPD and the Kesse’s.

Drew Kesse and Christina Stoy,  BOC Editor In Chief will be discussing the case on THE DANA PRETZER SHOW Wednesday January 18th at 9PM.

Blink, re your response to Curious:

I think Tracy’s case is connected to Chris George’s through the Hutto’s and Hataway without question.

I think Jennifer and Michelle are unrelated, however, it is not uncommon for someone to want a crime to look like a prior case to cast attention elsewhere, especially if it is a personal domestic connection, which I believe this is.

This reminded me of something. Hutto. Jeremiah & Paul (I think it’s Paul?) live in Winter Garden. They have similar towns oc residence in common with Michelle. Jeremiah is Michelle Parker’s age. I know you don’t believe the cases are related but I thought that was interesting to note. Plus Michelle is a bartender at the same bars that were frequented in these cases. Not that Jennifer barhopped, not suggesting that. Tracy Ocasio, Chris George, etc. Dale Smith went to the same bars as well. This stupid stuff makes me wonder… You just brought up Hutto & now my mind is spinning again… I know, I know, when it’s personal a copycat situation could occur. Just thought it was ironic…,

Blink you have done a great job investigating this case.I feel for Jenn’s family, a very long time to not know what happened to your daughter and sister. I am so upset that an investigator would not take notes.Really? or talk to the coworkers who she spent a lot of time with at work. Oh Blink this is just pure common sense.I was wondering did Jenn having any close or old girlfriends she confided in?
The Campos guy really bothers me,it sounds like he was more than obsessed with her.I wonder in the back and forth with her boyfriend,if she confided in him as a friend “Campos told him that Jenn was a jerk for dating that Brit a-hole and other fill in the blank derogatory insults”.It sounds like he know something about their relationship. Was he always around with a listening ear?

I wonder if he called her out that night under a different pretense.
I bet he stalked her and watched her condo,I would go back and pull those tapes from precious months.Probably not that night in question,
as he would know they would look over that one.

I also think they need to do a complete background check on him.Where
has he been in the past, locations, girlfriends, jobs, etc.Did he harass anyone else?

Lastly Blink if you can answer is Campos a medium build?

I have nothing to add. Still just stunned that this case and this family have been in limbo for so long. I hope LE reads all the great information on this site and it motivates the new investigative team to find answers as to what happened to this beautiful young lady.

    They do, I promise :)

I was watching one of the shows with Jennifer’s parents and they showed
a man walking in front of a gate, looks like all white outfit with black
shoes. Is this photograph still relevant to the case? This was back in 2008? Her parents said she always called her boyfriend on the way to
work and he never received that call. This makes me believe whatever
happened was around the time she left her condo.

I knew the first time we talked about this case 4 years ago and you kept arguing about the theory she went missing in the stairwell was ~a guess without a ladder~ {I use that and gets a gaafaaww every time} that you would eventually work it.

The thing about you that makes you ~scarey good~ is that you know when things are ready for you and not the other way around.

I hope you take that the way I intend it.

I am so glad you bat for team “light”.

See you in the basement babes :)

    YO!!!!

Awesome to see you sista friend, thank you.

    Correct, doesn’t Gahzinta, lol.

  6. Dr. Pepper says:

I was always under the impression that the perp moved her car to support a theory, at least early on that she’d left on her own accord. If her car had been left at her condo, when she didn’t show up at work it would be quicker to realize she hadn’t driven anywhere on her own accord.

Whoever did this, panicked & just left her car somewhere random to buy time.

If whoever drove her car, did leave any finger prints or DNA, LE obviously didn’t find it.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT HER CAR WAS NOT THOROUGHLY PROCESSED & findings documented!!!!!

In regards to first detectives on the case not taking notes–
Does that apply to just them? Meaning, any tasks that may have been delegated to another department…did ANYONE take any notes??

Or was it really just like getting an empty folder?

Also thinking that a media/pr blitz is Spanish speaking media could prove very helpful. Why would one watch English news if they can’t understand the language?

  7. kiwibird says:

Several questions if someone could possibly answer them for me – 1/.The proximity between Jenns condo and the ones where her vehicle was left – are they on the same road? 2/. Do chefs in America ever wear those pants with tiny black and white checks?

I ask 1/. because I wondered if as you say Blink the person that dropped off the car could have dropped it in error to the wrong place which to me would point to the person that harmed Jenn did not infact know her proper address or the name of her apartments.

2/. Because when I look at the cut and colour of the pants in the surveillance tape they look tapered to me and often chef pants of this nature are worn with a white t-shirt and often a black hat that is almost like a beret. And also this outfit is often completed with a pair of black shoes.

With her phone being gone is there anyway to find out if any food deliveries were made to her house?

  8. kiwibird says:

My apologies Blink I’m tired and didn’t proof read my post above properly and I’ve made it sound like you said something you didn’t with regards to the person dropping off the car – I simply meant that they may have been doing a ‘favour’ for someone and ‘returned’ it to the wrong place

Thanks Kiwi- I understood you. It cannot be excluded, we are not certain of the motivation of the car.

Blink.. ??? how did she leave her condo? In the culprit vehicle ?
Or do you think she drove herself to some location not yet mentioned ?

One or the other. I cannot make sense of why anyone would move her car if it took place in the condo-

You move a vehicle because it ties you to the crime by it’s location, imo.
    B”

Overall, I agree, but just to throw out another thought or two:

*Is there anyone who would think they could logically be linked to the condo? The sweater . . .

*What if whoever parked the car didn’t leave it where they were supposed to?

  10. lizzy says:

I’m still a little confused about what you said about them going to “Adam’s brother’s apartment.” Was the brother there? Where was the vacant apartment you mentioned? Next to the brother’s apartment? (Sorry, but you lost some of us there.) How did Campos know about the empty apartment? Was it searched/processed?

lol, It was intentional this time. That particular portion was verbatim.

Brother was there. Rest is unclear, unfortunately.

  11. A Texas Grandfather says:

    Dr. Pepper

Your question about the detectives not taking notes relates only to the first two as far as we know. It would take an investigative audit of the process and procedures used by all in the department, including looking at case files, in order to know how lax they operated.

For an agency to allow such a thing to happen inside a department tells me that there is something wrong at the department supervision level as well as those up the chain of command.

There are many fine people in law enforcement all around the country. Some are like a square peg in a round hole. They simply do not fit. They should be removed as fast as they can be identified. This in my opinion is exactly the case with this PD. The entire detective group need to be given a very hard examination and investigation to see if any can meet the proper standards set by the state.

Blink could not work in a media organization that have copy and content editors to rewrite material for publication. I could not do it either. Too many times the copy editors in fitting a story into the allocated space or time, cut out the most important part without consulting with the reporter. I had a conversation about this in 1977 with Dan Cobb, the news editor of the Houston Chronical, when he lived across the street from me. He admitted that they didn’t fact check the work as well as they should.

This case IMO should have been solved inside of three weeks if it had been worked in a professional manner. Unfortunately, it is going to be very difficult after six years have passed. The local PD along with state and federal agencies need to get busy, put their collective expertise to work and find the answers.

B- just listened to the podcast. Love Dana’s accent!

The words you read from Drew Kesse really touched my heart. I haven’t been in tune with her case long but took a particular interest in it when reading your coverage/findings regarding Hattaway. My heart truly hurts for him, Joyce & Logan and it helps me to know that he knows and may possibly feel encouraged by the many (I think) strangers (monkeys)…who truly truly care and are dedicated to doing all they can (albeit commenting, theorizing on blog sites). The words he wrote showed me that they notice. What they’re going through, have been through and will continue to go through…is awful and no one should ever have to. I just hope that my support from a stranger, my thoughts and prayers at the very least encourage him. Wow. I was truly touched.

It was very clarifying getting to hear the intvw bc it answered some questions I had and info I may have missed.

The partial print in the vehicle etc

I am anxiously awaiting news of “closure” or answers for this family.

    DP

  13. Dr. Pepper says:

    Also.
Youve mentioned on here and with Dana that it was the openness of the family that made it possible for you to do your investigation. You also said the original detectives kept no notes and that the FBI basically said they couldn’t help her.

Im assuming that the second set of detectives did in fact keep notes…were you able to view these? If so, how? Via the Sunshine Act?

I ask this bc I know most cases (including this one) the family is kept in the dark about alot of things.

I guess I’m just flabbergasted that the FBI couldnt produce the intel you have. Especially with the info originally obtained from Adam by LE that led to a search. And the fact that no one ever thought to intvw her co-workers. OR WAIT, crap im getting my wires crossed.

Wish I had more to add. Sadly, not shocked my original LE dropping the ball, but Drew trying so hard to get the FBI’s help and they they did nada. Guess I held them on a virtual pedestal….thanks again fictional tv shows (Criminal Minds). Hoping that’s not the norm.

Hey Blink, look at this link that shows a map of CFI Westgate Properties Lake Ellenor Office location:
    http://www.briki.com/briki/Florida/FL/ORLANDO/32809/6177_LAKE_ELLENOR_DR/6177_LAKE_ELLENOR_DR_ORLANDO,_FL_32809.html

Their address is 6177 Lake Ellenor Dr, Orlando FL.

Look at where it is… Oak Ridge area, S OBT area, Americana & S Texas … And of course I have to mention Lake Conway (among others). 3 missing women from this area. Pretty ironic and highly probable a copycat, but what if?

The CFI Westgate Lake there was construction going on for Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center a couple miles away in Kissimmee. See this link: http://westgateresorts.com/about/history/
    Snip:
    2006
Westgate Resorts continues construction of several new buildings at the company’s flagship resort, Westgate Vacation Villas, and Town Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

Their location is 4000 Westgate Blvd., Kissimmee, Florida 34747. This is directly by Lake Wilson.

Again, construction going on, ALOT of construction on several new buildings. A body could be dumped there as well. I wonder if Lake Wilson was ever checked?

Also, Campos is a manager in accounting. I’m sure you knew that lol… ;)

He is a supervisor of mtg. processing services, yes, and I want to clarify he was not Jennifer’s mgr, but he was “Adam’s”.

As I said earlier, if you map your findings (of course I know, but that’s my job) chronologically and logistically, it will tell a story. The story ends with no recovery, but a story just the same.

But then, you need to establish a reasonable perimeter to search- lots of things to consider in terms of non-public intel, but again, in analysis we have to make assumptions based on LE activity.

This is a co-worker of Jennifer’s, or someone hoping to make it look like it is on paper, imo.

    B

  15. Titch says:

Oops, forgot to add, the reason I thought it was notable Campos manages accounting is bc you said CFI was under federal investigation for labor discrepancies: ie regular pay vs overtime, plus I imagine they had some illegals…maybe. As an accountant, even if he didn’t work directly with payroll, he’d have had an idea of something gone awry. Hence, that’s probably the biggest reason CFI let “Adam Frank” go bc they didn’t want any further pitfalls involving accounting of any kind. Might be wrong but it’s plausible. If a company hides something like this, the reason might be because something bigger is at stake.

Jennifer needs to be found. Her work computer shb confiscated & the hd mirrored.

    Her computer has been cloned.
    B

  16. Titch says:

Ok, now I’m wondering more about Lake Wilson. We go to Disney every year. We drive around the resort area, even by myself sometimes as I like to shop lol. I’m wondering if that Red Lobster and Buffalo Wild Wings by Lake Wilson were open when Jennifer went missing. I wonder if all around Lake Wilson was major construction going on in that area, for some reason I was reminded of that Red Lobster. We ate there before but I can’t remember if it was 06 or 07, past that we just ate at resort & marketplace restaurants.

  17. TandT says:

OK so she wore her favorite pumps to either go to work, or perhaps she was meeting someone for dinner. Kids don’t always tell their parents everything, I never told my folks everything nor do I think my kids tell me everything. Sometimes we just dont want our parents to know or worry. I think it’s possible she went to “dinner” and it did not go as she thought it would.

  18. Titch says:

Blink, I cannot believe how huge this company is. CFI where Jennifer worked was the location of their over 200,000 sq ft call center. CFI is the parent company of Westgate. Westgate is an incredibly huge timeshare corporation, the 2nd largest in the WORLD. Sooo, for their call center to be involved in a federal investigation due to unfair labor practices, and for that to involve accounting, well to say the least – it’s a big deal.

Might be why the investigators with OPD weren’t thorough. Pffft, you say they retired on the same day? Happen to know their ages? Wonder how much was in their 401k? CFI/Westgate is worth billions…billions. Matter of fact, I’d like to know if thet donated anything toward search efforts…

CFI Westgate is in financial trouble, ask Dave Siegel. That said, they were beyond obliging and in particular, Jane’s peer group volunteered for many events.
    B

  19. Titch says:

Also, where Jenn’s car was dropped of is right by a bus route. I wonder if investigators checked with mass transit.

  20. Titch says:

Blink, thank you. Yep, I’m collecting and mapping. Still pulling info from searches.

I found a Linked In for Campos & it says supervisor in accounting. Is Mtg Processing the same as acctg? Here’s what I found but I’m wondering if maybe it’s just old info or something?

  21. Titch says:

    Blink, you said:

    B

    I say:
Holy cow! Why are they still listed as one of the top timeshares? To save public face?

Gut is telling me you found good info, noteworthy info. If this case was investigated thoroughly, it would have brought an even darker cloud to hover over an already fractured corporation, which could have in time closed it’s doors…at least a decent portion of them. I’d like to know how 2 OPD investigators could retire on the exact same day, 2 investigators working Jennifer Kesse’s disappearance case. How could they BOTH have enough money to retire? Were they geriatric? Had they both already put in 25 years each? Police pension wasn’t the greatest back then, heck it’s still not – depending on your rank & years of service.

  22. Titch says:

Just like you said, CFI Westgate is listed as Insufficient in Financing. Standard & Poor backs you up, Blink. Could it be bc they purchased other resorts for renovation and also added new construction to already in place resorts…or…could it be due to defaults bc of an unsteady worldwide economy? S&P lists just about everything as Strong with the exception of their Financial Standing. As usual, great job Blink.

  23. Ragdoll says:

We sold our CFI Westgate share b/c of continuous, ridiculous rising costs of yearly maintenance fees (indication of profit issues????). Initially, we signed up to pay 500/year. It doubled the next year. This was 20 years ago. The one in Kissimmee is looking ‘not so maintained’, btw.

At some point, I thought I read CFI Westgate filed for Ch. 11 (I’m not finding a link to back this up, but there’s a lot of googled info I’ve come across with not so glowing reports).

I gotta admit….I’m surprised they’re still constructing in some states outside Florida. Reinventing themselves? I’d personally never get involved with a time share again.

I pray these new leads reveal what happened to Jennifer, God bless her soul.

  24. Cindy says:

    Blink,
You made it clear that Johnny Campos was not Jenn’s supervisor. Who was her supervisor and did he/she know about Johnny’s unwelcome advances and was he/she interviewed? Did her supervisor sweep potential sexual harassment claims under the rug?

  26. Lynda says:

Occam’s Razor wins again. It was someone she knew (particularly a spurned lover in his own mind). I am unsure as to why they, and you, are keeping the location of her last cell phone ping (at 10:40 PM) a “big secret” You would think if that was released, someone, somewhere might remember something they thought was insignificant, maybe even placing them TOGETHER that night. If the POI knew enough to take the battery out of Jenn’s phone, he certainly knew enough to take the battery out of HIS so it would not place him at the same place her ping occurred, so eyewitnesses are crucial at this juncture at the place of her last cell phone ping. SOMEBODY needs to release that information to see if someone can place them together at that spot!! I think what happened at this point is that she met up with the “new” POI (that’s where her cell pinged), she enters his car for one reason or another, he kills her in his car or takes her to another location and kills her,(perhaps in vicinity of Adam Franks brothers home, and then does exactly what he told Adam Frank (put her somewhere where the gators got her, I personally believe they will never find her body). He then hires/pays a stranger to move her car away from where they met (where her cell phone pinged) because he had to get rid of the car from that location. This person he hired, I believe, was a non-english speaking, immigrant that of course did it for a quick 50 bucks or whatever. I do not believe at all that the person that moved her car is involved with her disappearance in any way.The person that moved the car could for all intents and purposes, not even be in the country at this time, or be illegal, in which case he’s not going to come forward for fear of deportation. There are literally thousands of people that if offered money, would move a car without asking questions. Even if the car wasn’t processed correctly, the POI prints/DNA are NOT in there anyway so he’s in the clear there.
After killing her, I believe he actually went to her apt, slept, woke up, showered, and went to work. He arrived at work late (noonish) so at that time, water from HIS shower would still be damp/showing in HER shower AND on the towel!!! Do we know if wet towel was tested for DNA? Has it disappeared? Was it washed at a later time? Did they remove the drain trap from the shower and test for blood? The POI is the one that “got ready” in the morning, HE is the one that slept on “one side of the bed” HE is the one that left the wet towel. So many things could be tested for DNA in her apt…have they been? Or did they not bother because they have a hard on for their theory that she was abducted in the stairwell? Tens of people working around the complex that morning stated that they did not see Jenns car that morning AT ALL..did they see HIS? Were they even ASKED? As far as the shoes go, if they were her favorite, she wore them alot. She was either wearing them that night or when he went back to her apt. he took them as souveniers. Am I correct in assuming that there has been no search conducted on ANYTHING that Campos owns?
This is a solvable case with this new info, but unfortunately, I do not ever believe they will find her body to bring her home.

I have faith that Jennifer will be recovered. I support LE decision to keep her cell pings private and releasing them publicly could compromise the investigation.

Good morning Blink. Few thing’s I’d be interested in knowing are how long are SunPass records kept? Were Jenn’s SunPass records ever checked? Even more importantly, was her SunPass transponder even in her car when it was found? Living in Orlando and traveling to South Florida every other week, it’s very hard to imagine she didn’t have a SunPass. I believe Mr. Campos could have asked “Adam” to drive to the Lake Ellenor office so he’d be able to survey any LE activity along the way without his own transponder pinging anywhere. These records could be very important in knowing “who” traveled “where” in the time before and after Jenn’s disappearance. Thank you for all you do!

  29. Jane says:

I wonder if the media – Orlando Sentinel, Florida Today, any Hispanic newsprint ran this story again, including a reward, if there would be any new leads. Jennifer was beautiful. If she was seen prior to vanishing, someone would remember her – especially tanned and hair probably bleached out. We are wintering in Florida – and have seen little coverage re the new investigation – unless I’ve just missed it. I would hope the City of Orlando would offer a sizable reward in hopes of new leads, considering what was and wasn’t done by LE. My prayers to this lovely, heartbroken family.

Johnny married Tracey 5/15/1999. According to this document, his birthday is 6/24/1973 & he was born in Costa Rica:

So wow, when you consider the address of Westgate where they worked, map out a path including past addresses and the final destination of Westgate Lake Ellenor (Oak Ridge), all hot spots are covered in the path. The newest residence is in the opposite direction but older ones are in the path to Lake Ellenor. IF he (or someone else from her job) could be involved, maybe the perp took these paths and dumped her somewhere familiar to them. What’s the rule of thumb? Within 10 miles of crime screen but also within a given triangulated area due to how a criminal processes disposal in their brain?

Also, seems this married couple both have traffic infractions. Maybe nothing to worry about but thought it may be noteworthy.

  31. Titch says:

They meaning Jennifer and Johnny, not Johnny & his wife.

  32. luckyLou says:

I believe they will find her as well. I also wonder, if it was Campos that she met up with, wouldn’t he go home? He has a wife – wouldn’t she wonder where he was all night? Why would he risk going to her apartment all night and showering? Then leave his sweater? Unless he is clueless – I would think someone would want to get away from anything connecting them to a missing person. I would think it would be more likely he would go to a vacant apartment, a motel or home. I really hope they find her. This all seems too solvable with maybe one more piece of evidence to link things together. Maybe he went to an empty apartment and then found an illegal construction worker (painter?) to transport the car.
Also, this “gator” theory. I thought gators were scared of people, and they like to eat things that are alive. Even if they did eat a human, wouldn’t they leave a trace? (Honestly, seems inhumane bringing this up, but it has bothered me). Although 6 years in this heat and humidity – what would that do to evidence? I think rather than Campos’ past, what has he been up to for the past 6 years since she went missing? Other than the same job – any other complaints, arrests, citations, marital problems?

Still stunned and slowly processing. Thank you, Team Blink!

The towel on the dryer seems normal to me, as the temp was 72 degrees, with 80 percent humidity (wunderground.com), especially for a young woman who was trying to be responsible and careful with her things
(Seatbelted dvd player;phone charger cord wrapped in console).

I don’t think Jenn slept with her work clothes laid out on her bed. She likely got up, put on her glasses from nightstand, peed, laid out her clothes, went into bathroom to shower, taking off the glasses and leaving jammies on the edge of the bathmat. At that temp and humidity, I think the shower could still be wet hours later.
Do we know if she had a robe she wore after a shower? Is it missing?

Missing pumps–trophy item is a strong guess.

Sweater in bottom of hamper may have been found on property and used
by organized perpetrator in attempt to distract/deflect. Bottom of hamper is telling–deliberately placed there, opposed to being mixed in with other clothing.

This is a manipulative–very!–criminal who killed Jenn Kesse. I am completely committed to catching him.

  36. Word Girl says:

Mail key separate from other (missing keys).
Can someone please explain if the mailbox system is inside or outside; can you drive up to it? Did Jenn park in the front and walk back to her condo or did she park in her normal, closest spot to her entrance?

Accessing a vehicle without its keys is not difficult, I have been told, if LE or the dealer has a ‘pass key’? I have been told LE keeps pass keys locked up and checked out by investigators==anyone know more here?

Why would Jenn not have re-set her intrusion alarm when she got home?
Did she turn it off when someone came to the door? Someone she recognized?

  37. Jane says:

I wonder if a wife has been questioned or shown the sweater?

  38. marnie says:

@ lynda, i was thinking the same – the perp is the one who showered in jenn’s condo. the rest of what you said, about him sleeping in her bed, taking the shoes for a trophy – that’s just creepy, but a possiblility! maybe he is even the one who laid out her clothes on the bed. sounds like something an obssessed freak would be capable of. another alarm that went off but i thought maybe i didn’t understand… why would he want to go adam’s brother’s apartment “to see if he heard anything?”??

this is the first i have heard of this case, so i am just absorbing all the info blink has posted and the info others know or are finding out. it’s sounding quite possible she did go out that night – maybe that is when she laid out the different outfits. it does sound like this campos guy was harrassing her and she was trying to keep it professional. maybe she did go to meet him to try to settle this outside of the work environment – it’s so inappropriate for him to be interogating her at work in front of others – and wanted to dress professionnally to set the boundaries and keep it on the professional level.

just rambling out loud here. but if it does turn out to be something like that, what a sad example of workplace violence. i think most people think their workplace and coworkers are “safe” and they can handle problems themselves. on the other hand, when adam brought his problems to management, he was fired! clearly, more work needs to be done on educating employees and employers on how to deal with harrassment.

From the Equusearch in October of 08, to the June 09 search of John Young Parkway and Millenia to the July 09 search around the condo, Airport and Ocoee to the Oak Ridge Road and Wakulla Way to the new search on South International Drive — what a roller coaster ride. I still have questions in my mind about who Scott Stryker is and how much of an interest he had in her.
Not to throw water on the new SMART team, but what is different about this one and the one in September of 2009? Did the Kesses see their report? Will they see the new report?
    Just thinking Blink, just thinking.

  40. Shawn says:

Just some thoughts–I grew up in this area and it is high crime. High traffic from both pedestrians and vehicles.. At all hours of the night this area is crawling with people. I got driving directions from Jennifers condo to the Lake Ellenor office and the quickest route takes one from the condo to S Rio Grande and Lake Ellenor is the only significant body of water on that route. Directions from the Ocoee office to the Lake Ellenor office only takes you pass one lake (Turkey lake) that I would be willing to say that would be visible enough to see if there were an ongoing police investigation just by driving down the turnpike. Turkey Lake does have many secluded access points and large wildlife. Unless the goal was to see a retention pond, which usually are not bio diverse enough to contain large wildlife, usually not very deep & are mowed occassionally.

It would be interesting to see e-pass/toll records for Campos on the night/day she was last heard from. The turnpike is the fastest way to get to from the CFI Ocoee office to the condo. He would also likely have an epass account instead of paying tolls in cash if he were a manager at CFI. Going any other way would take way too long and test the patience of a saint due to traffic.

  41. mayhem says:

Blink, I applaud you and your contributors for unearthing so much detail. I remember Jennifer’s posters, and drove past them every day for years.

This case feels so tangible now, I feel an aire of hope. Thank you releasing this report. It has been so frustrating to know this beautiful young woman has not been found, and yet there has been so little clues, no updates, no story emerging that could help bring her home. Until now. Thank you for your tireless quest for the answers.

You mentioned that Johnny Campos declined to speak to your team about Jennifer’s case. But he HAS been interviewed by the police, as a direct result of Frank’s interview. Are you privvy to how that interview went?

Besides Frank, I believe you stated there were others you interviewed that asked about Campos. Did they share similar stories about his demeanor the day she disappeared, or his apparent attitude towards Jennifer?

  42. wpg says:

Been thinking on some possible practical and psychological theories of Jennifer’s missing snake-print pumps.

This is going on the presumption she was wearing those pumps for work on Monday, January 23 :

On a practical side, seeing that there were 2 pairs of Jennifer’s flip flops on the floor of the passenger side of her car, it’s possible that she drove in those comfy, easy on/easy off sandals and then changed into her pumps while still seated in the car (maybe sitting sideways with car door open, legs out) before she exited the car at work , and then later changed out of her pumps before she drove the car back home after work.

I’ve carried high-heels to my car for various reasons . . . driving comfort especially on longer treks, discomfort reasons like a blister on the back of my heel, weather conditions, ground conditions including construction residues, and just not wanting to scuff up my most favorite and more delicate pumps while driving – - – specifically the right-foot shoe.

Maybe Jennifer carried her pumps in her briefcase . . . depending on the style of briefcase/business bag . . . which could be part of a scenario why both articles are missing.

Jennifer did have a long drive from her boyfriend’s to work the morning of Monday, January 23 . . . it’s possible she did not wear the pumps for the drive. But that would also mean that she would have been in possession of her snake-print pumps when she left his place because she did not go home first . . . same thing with her briefcase.

It sounds like she was originally planning on returning to her condo Sunday the 22nd, but:

“Jenn and Rob returned to his home via Miami due to flight cancellations Sunday evening.”

So, she could have prepared/packed to be work-ready just in case she did spend Sunday night at Rob’s for whatever reason or perhaps felt it best to take her briefcase with her because her brother and his friends were staying at her condo. Her favorite pumps could easily have been taken for the trip – - neutral-toned, goes with anything.

If she had taken in her briefcase earlier, maybe she had not opened it.
Maybe she left it in the car.

When she last spoke to Rob her boyfriend at 9:36pm, it could have been because of this conversation she realized she’d left the DVD he had given her in the backseat of the car and later, disarming her condo alarm, went outside to retrieve it AND perhaps her briefcase (even though purse and briefcase kind of get taken/carried together, imo). Possible she was met outside that night by someone nefarious and only had the opportunity to retrieve her briefcase which may have been on the front seat of her 4-door car.

IDK, just another “practical” thought on the missing shoes, in addition to the possibilities Jennifer was actually wearing them Monday night to maybe go out after her 9:36pm call with Rob, or Tuesday morning dressing or dressed for work.

The “psychological” theories are a whole other thing . . . oye.

  43. AZLawyer says:

I sometimes leave my towel on the dryer if I go to get clothes out of the dryer right after a shower. And a quick dryer cycle can be just the thing to un-wrinkle something you just unpacked….

Good thoughts AZ- and nice to see you, btw.

I will sometimes dry a “hand wash” item on top of a towel on my dryer if it must lay flat, and I agree on the dryer quick unwrinkle theory.

  44. Edward says:

Some consider that the perp was “inside” Jennifer’s condo..
If true how did he get in ? He had a key. How did he get that key? Many possible ways to do that. He is evil smart and attempting to leave others responsible. If that is true, his DNA will not be found there in the condo.
    Consider..
Possibly he convinces Jennifer to go dancing with him at that lunch where she was supposed to let him down slowly ? She possibly decides what the heck, lets go. She leaves in secret. Just an evening out with a gentleman who has interest in her. After all she is single. Not married. No problem, but why upset the world over it. Just one evening out. Then it is over..

    Word Girl says:
The pumps A possible trophy item…
But he is married, no ?
Would Jennifer wear pumps to go out to dance ? I do not know.

On the sweater .. A Placed item, that SOB! I agree, very possible.
But maybe it was hers and nobody knows it. Maybe it belongs to Adam or some other male she knew and it was placed for that reason on purpose. Maybe it really just belongs to one of the boys who stayed in her condo.

On her car.. She leaves to go meet Campos..and later on.
Keys placed in ignition on purpose?
The fellow we see in video is a victim of opportunity ?? A possible person with a criminal record. High crime area. He works at a convalescent hospital or restaurant ? Hospital ? His clothes suggest it to me.
He walks by the parked car in an open parking lot and can see it is unlocked ? maybe the windows are down ? On closer inspection he can see keys in the ignition, so he takes the car for a ride and parks it in that other condo complex and walks off to work. He touches nothing because he knows not to. Or just has no interest.

This is what our perp wanted.. Now another mans DNA is in that car.
Better yet he ends up on video.

So DNA in sweater ..Not the perp.
Any DNA in car ..Not the perp.

The pumps ? I do not know, buried with the victim ? or possible gift to another girlfriend? Could that could be considered trophy ?
I doubt the pumps are on his fireplace mantle.

Was the last cell phone ping on Jennifer in a parking lot ? we do not know. But if so, is there a club close by ? Would Jennifer and the perp be on surveillance in that club years ago if it were checked?
    Shawn suggests, toll records.
Damn, those first investigators discounting the situation !! LE can disappoint at times.

This perp walks up to the mom ? with a very insignificant item “I thought you might like to have this”
Because it was important to HIM not the family. It was a work related gift! Maybe, the family feels it was important to them. I would not.

The Campos demeanor with the subordinate was out of line and the boss firing Adam over it raises some eyebrow but possibly Campos was able to present it to his boss in a manner that made Adam look bad.
Where is that boss “John Willman” interviewed ? If not he should be as well as all supervisors at the work place. At this moment Campos knows we are all talking about it. Wonder if his wife does too. ?

    A couple of thoughts…

1.) Is there any more information that can be gathered about the ticket Johnny received which landed him in jail? I’m wondering if there is any way that he could have been stalking Jennifer at the time? Perhaps speeding or running a red light to keep up with her, or parking illegally to wait for her… just a thought. Might also explain why he flipped when he got the ticket and ripped it up– it either prevented him from following her or threatened to blow his cover. At the very least, the temper displayed in this situation only further indicates that he has a short fuse and that his anger can be extreme. I just can’t believe, considering some of his other behaviors, that he didn’t display more stalking behaviors.

2.) If Johnny was obsessed with and/or harassing Jennifer, then I would venture to say that there may be other women– either before or after Jennifer– that he directed similar attention towards. Has anyone been able to find any other women who have complained about unwanted attention from Johnny? Anyone who left her job, perhaps because of his presence– especially if higher-ups weren’t interested in investigating or disciplining Johnny (as evidenced by Adam’s experience). Anyone who went to high school or college with Johnny? Or, if he has kids, any women affiliated with his children’s school– teachers, others parents, etc.?

3.) Has anyone ever constructed a timeline of Johnny’s whereabouts after work that Monday night? People are saying that they don’t think that anyone came over to Jennifer’s condo that night, that she wouldn’t have let him in, or that she wouldn’t have gone anywhere with him. But I disagree. First, we don’t know the exact nature of their relationship. Second, isn’t it somewhat common for women to think that they can gain control of a seemingly bad situation– especially if it involves someone with whom they are acquainted? She could have let him in for a talk. She could have been forced out of the apartment at gun/knife point without putting up a fight and thus not leaving a trail of destruction in her condo.

4.) I think the theories of Jennifer taking a nap after work OR of the BG returning to her condo and spending the night there are interesting. I don’t really think she left for work in the morning. Clothes tend to be laid out the night before. And most people I know, if they sleep alone, sleep in the middle of their beds– not confined to one side by an arrangement of work clothes. Also, in the photo Blink included in this piece, it looks like Jennifer’s sunglasses are in the center console of her car. Had she actually left in the morning, I feel she would have most likely been wearing the sunglasses and, if so, that they would be missing along with her. But the sunglasses are in the center console of the car, untouched, leading me to think that she never made it back into her car after getting home from work OR that she drove her car somewhere Monday night and went missing that night.

I agree with the sunglasses comment 100%. Jenn had a pair in her condo on the console, but the ones in her car are what she wore home from her trip, of that I am positive.

I have light blue eyes, and my eyes are UBER sensitive to light ( yes I am that chick you think is trying to be cool when everyone else thinks it is not sunny enough for shades- it is a pita).

In fla especially, I think jenn had the same issue.

I also did a little math on her cell- no charger was found in her house ( likely in her brief from the trip yet) and it was on all day. She was on it all the way home, but then in the condo.

I do not know why yet, but I find the charger cord wrapped around the gear shift and not plugged in suspect.

I agree, Edward, that offering a secret santa gift that Campos purchased for Jennifer to the mom is not only “off”, but uncomfortably so. Who does that?

I keep thinking about the shower. Could Jennifer have been returned to her apartment at some point after the “incident?” Not alone, but been escorted to retrieve some items and to clean up after an initial confrontation? Did she at the time have neighbors present on both sides of her or above or below her?

Yes, in terms of anyone hearing anything like a violent confrontation, it would have been heard, but the occupancy was quite low at the time.

Something I have not shared previously, her system had a panic buzzer in the condo.

Some good theories to think about Edward.I think the occupation and possibly record of this guy will led us straight to the perp (Campos)
He has an usual gait and not everyone walks around with an outfit like that.Finding him….would help bring it all together.

I am wondering with the bad temper and the way this was handled has
this been done before? If he can’t have them what happens then.He seems like no amateur to me.

I read that the scent of unknown driver was tracked to Jennifer’s building. Do you know if this is correct?

I have zero faith in any canine evidence in a case where they could not even open her car door at the scene.
Neither does anyone I spoke with. For this case, I think it prudent to assume their is NO dog track.

I wondered same when I read it, and thought maybe that’s where Jenn’s car was found.

I find the fact that JC mentioned an empty apartment very interesting.

Along with his comment Jenn had probably been eaten by gators………

Adam’s brother did not live at HOTG, and I agree.
